- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not going to rush through this like in other videos.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I'm going to give 10 myths that have been debunked concerning fasting.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And if you don't know, I torched off 135 pounds of adipose tissue about seven and a half months.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: I used a majority of fasting to get that process done.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: So it was, I was one that never thought that would even be something that I would be able to do in the first place.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: In fact, when I started, I thought to myself, there's just no way I'm going to be able to miss a day of eating.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: A meal or two, there, sure.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: That's probably something I remember back when I was thinking about it.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Not a big deal, because I've often gone without breakfast.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: I often have gone without eating something in the morning, but I was always in that mindset, oh my God, if I don't eat that first meal, then my metabolism is going to be shot for the day.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: And then I'm just going to keep gaining weight and all this.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: But I was 365 pounds, so I was doing pretty good gaining weight.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: I didn't have any problem putting weight on.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: It was the losing it that was an issue.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: So some of the things that I realized with the fasting is I never got access to my fat on the body.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I was just trying to process all these incoming calories in the form of sugar and carbohydrates.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: So I never got into ketosis.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: I never started eating in that way either.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: That's another show.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: But these 10 points about fasting, I think, are going to give you some insight into me and why I did what I did.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: So the first one is fasting destroys your metabolism.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Believe it or not, caloric restricted diets seem to do a lot more destruction with regard to the metabolism.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: When you fast, your body actually takes your metabolism, actually increases it.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: You go on a four-day fast, and you usually start at the beginning of this, you actually have your metabolism measured, and let's say it's 2,000 calories.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: If you start to fast, typically that metabolism goes up about 10%.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And that being the case, that's a 10% increase in your metabolism when you start to fast.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: So instead of 2,000 calories, you're burning 2,200 calories, which is absolutely remarkable.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: When you caloric restrict, it goes the other way.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: You're eating enough to be able to get your body functioning, but your body never switches over into starvation mode.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And that that being the case, it never accesses the stored body fat that you have on your body to burn it for fuel.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Like in a ketogenic diet, that would also do something similar, but fasting superior, and I'll get to that.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: But that is a myth.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: It does not destroy your metabolism.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: You can do your own research and studies.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Your metabolism actually upregulates and goes higher.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And the reason being is your body thinks you're starving.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I'll talk about starvation, another one of these myths, but your body thinks you're starving.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: So what does that mean?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: The way that we've come about, evolved, or created, or whatever, we have to go hunt something.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: So that's the case.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: You have to go hunt.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: If it lowered your metabolism when you were fasting, we would have all died off a long time ago because we wouldn't have had the motivation to go eat.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: We just would have fallen asleep and died.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Think about it.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: All right, here's number two.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: This was a big one.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: When I was really, really fat, this one really caused me to stay fat because I was so concerned about losing the valuable muscle that was covered in my blubber.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: I didn't even see the muscle.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I'm not even sure if any was there.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: The leaner I got, then I started to see it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: But there for a while, I basically in my brain, if I could go back and talk to myself, I would have said, you didn't have any business.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Even concerning yourself, even if fasting does torch through muscle, you would have been better off getting rid of the fat anyway.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: But fasting, when they talk about it, you'll lose all your muscle if you're fast.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: No, that's not true.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Your body, again, now starts to activate a lot of different hormones, including growth hormone, to preserve your muscle.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: In addition, muscle isn't used as energy.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Fat is.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: That's what you're has stored, that's why your body has stored fat.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: So you have the fat.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: It might not be attractive.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Maybe some people like it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: I couldn't stand it.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: But when you're fat like that, your body has plenty of stored energy.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: It's getting access to it, that's the problem.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Because people are still eating sugar, consuming carbohydrates in many different forms, but that's what's happening.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Your body then is using insulin to deal with it.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: So it's storing all this stuff away.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: You're never getting access to it.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So you can do it either with a ketogenic diet, just cutting out all the sugar, carbohydrates, just eating basically meats, eggs, fish, and vegetables.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Just stick to that.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: None of the processed stuff, but just real stuff.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: If it's been if it walks around in nature, only has one ingredient, you're probably pretty good.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: But that's where the ketogenic comes in.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: But when you fast, you're not ingesting any calories, right?
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: So your body does that metabolism trick, regulates it.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: It also upregulates different hormones, including human growth hormone, which is fantastic.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And when people fast, they have an extra boost so your muscle is retained.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Plus, your body's not stupid.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: It's not going to go and eat that that hard-earned muscle to burn it and throw it into the fire so you can have energy.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: It's going to go right to the fat.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So that's number two.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Here's number three.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Fasting will make you constantly hungry and end up binging.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: You'll end up binging.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Well, here's the deal with that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Yes, beginning of a fast.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: If you've never done this before, if you've never skipped a meal and this is going to be your first time, oh my God, it's going to be painful.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: It's going to suck.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: You're going to get hungry.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: That's just the way it is.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: But here's the deal.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Hold on to yourself because hunger is a wave.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Hunger is caused by the hunger hormone called gremlin.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I call it the gremlin.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: And he'll come in there and he's going to say, Connor, you're missing a meal.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: You should get something to eat.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: If I ignore him for an hour, hour 20, hour 30 minutes, then he's going to go away.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And then when is he going to come back?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: The next time, typically, I would eat.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're an all-day grazer, let's say you eat all day long, you're probably going to have a little bit more dealings with ghrelin, the gremlin, the hunger hormone.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: But it does come in waves and it does go away.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: And that's day one.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Let's say you're going to go on a two or three or four-day water fast.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Ghrelin's going to get less each day.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: And then at some point it's really not going to be noticeable at all.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So, yes, at the very beginning, you will be hungry.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Also, let's say you're going from eating cake and ice cream and pizza and cookies and pasta and fruit diet to fasting.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: You're going to have to deal with a little bit more than a person that's eating in a different way prior to a fast, and the different way is in a ketogenic way where they're eating fat and protein and they're not eating the sugar and carbohydrates.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: And take it from me, I've done both.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: It's much easier to do it having been ketogenic because my body's already switched fuel mechanisms from sugar and carbohydrates over to fat, and that's what it's used to burning in a ketogenic diet.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: That's like the Atkins diet.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Of course, there's always bad with everything, it seems, when people are talking.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: But really, Dr.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Atkins, he was definitely on to something.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Carnivore diet is another way.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: You've heard it called the paleo diet, it's another way.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: But really, if you just stick, you don't have to worry about any of those titles.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: You stick to food that has one ingredient: meat, fish, vegetables, and eggs, you're going to be good.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: It's when we start adding all the stuff onto it that there's a problem.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: If it has one ingredient, you're probably going to be fine.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: But as far as fasting will constantly make you hungry and you'll end up binging, well, binging is another thing.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: If you have that problem already, you're going to have to get that under control.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Because while you're being able to keep yourself not too hungry, because it's a wave, right?
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: You're going to ride it out, try to do something else, try to distract yourself, and try to move on in a healthy manner.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: The binging thing is a problem.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: When you're going through fasting and you're doing a multiple-day fast, let's say, or even not eating tomorrow, you're going to eat the next day.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: That's the plan.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: The next day when you eat, don't get all nuts and go out there and binge completely on all the crap that you really shouldn't be eating in the first place.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Love yourself enough to try to honor it.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And if you screw it up, I get that, because I've screwed it up many times.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Get back on the wagon.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Don't keep going.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Don't if I could go back and talk to myself if he would listen.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: If you could go back ten years ago and talk to yourself, you say, What would you say to change?
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Because now you're where you are.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And then if you can go into the future and call back that cat to come talk to you, I'd be curious where I'm going to be ten years from now and what I'm going to look like if I keep on track.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: I'm sure it's going to be great.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: But these are questions to ask.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: But again, don't overdo it on any refeed of anything.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Get that in your head.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Now's not the time to start overdoing things.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: All right, so that's number three.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Number four, let's see what it says here.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: If you fast, you'll immediately become nutrient deficient.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: So at the beginning of a fast, it's kind of neat.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: You'll drop a lot of weight.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be so excited, you're gonna be so happy with yourself.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Because typically, especially if you're a sugar burner, eating carbs and sugars is a typical part of your normal everyday staple.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Got Mitch, everyday staple, right?
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: So that's what you normally eat.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: When you switch over into not eating at all, and your body makes that change, it does purge off a bunch of water.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be peeing a lot, and you'll probably drop quite a bit of weight in water.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: That's water weight.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: But trust me when I tell you, your caloric uptake, your metabolism increasing, you're still gonna burn quite a bit.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: In an absolute fast, you'll probably burn somewhere in the neighborhood of half to three-quarters to a pound a day.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: That's the of real fat.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Now the rest of it's water, and there's really no faster way than that.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: But again, watch the scale and don't get upset because let's say you're on a two or three-day fast.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Whenever you get there, and between day two and day three, you expect to drop a pound or two, because at the beginning you dropped 10 pounds in the first day.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Again, that was water, majority of that water, and now you're only dropping a pound, a half a pound to three quarters to one pound per day.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: That's still okay, folks.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Look at where you've gotten yourself on caloric restriction and look at the different feeling when you fast.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: With caloric restriction, your metabolism, actually, body smart, if you're eating a thousand calories a day, your metabolism is going to adjust down to a thousand calories a day.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: If you've ever done that, you know how angry you are all the time.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Well, that's part of the deal.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Plus, your metabolism goes down, you don't want to do anything.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: So that's where the caloric restriction is a problem.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Now, as far as nutrient deficiency, yes, you're gonna be peeing a lot of minerals that you might have had stored, but your body's really good at regulating, so you're not gonna be losing these things that people say.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: You are gonna use a little bit.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: If you do start to get a little crampy, maybe supplement with some magnesium, some potassium, some salt that will help replenish those nutrients.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: You can look that up.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Talk to your doctor, of course, in every single case.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Longer you go, the more you'll probably burn through.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: I do know that I've gotten cramps.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: I was doing a 14-day fast.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: About day seven or eight, I started getting some abdominal cramps, really weird.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: I had some magnesium, drank some water with salt in it, boom, I was good, and they went away.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Again, you want to keep those minerals going.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: So talk to your doctor and see the best way to do that.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: You can supplement with different mineral drinks.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: I would stay away from stuff that tastes sweet because they did a study on Diet Coke, believe it or not, they're giving people milk, diet coke, and regular Coke over a certain period of time watching them.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: The milk group uh didn't gain or lose any weight.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: The Diet Coke, the regular Coke group with the sugar gained weight after this certain period of time.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: And guess where the Diet Coke people went?
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: I would have thought they would have gone down.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: They gained the same weight that the people drinking the full sugar coke.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: And the reason being is because even with a Diet Coke, you get an insulin response because of the sweet taste and the artificial sweeteners.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And insulin will make you fat.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: That's just the way that works, especially when you have an overabundance.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So there's another study there to look at.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: These are all just very interesting things.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: And why they're so interesting is because I've been lied to all of my life, starting out when I was a kid, when they said fat makes you fat, and back then they made all these sugary foods.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: It was actually the sugar that was doing it to everybody, it wasn't the fat.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: So fasting is the same as starving yourself.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I guess you could say that, but that's kind of a myth because a person that's starving, and God forbid that ever happen to anyone, but it happens.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: They don't have access to food, that's why they're starving.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: You have plenty of food, that's why you're fat.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: And I had plenty of food, still had plenty of food, that's why I was fat, and still battle with being fat, because it's everywhere.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: It's easy to get pizza, it's easy to get hamburgers, cheeseburgers.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: You without the bun would be a little bit better.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: It's easy to get lots of fruits, alcohol, ice cream, piece of cake, right?
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: We have plenty of food.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: So we're not starving, so that's not the same as far as starvation goes.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: But yes, your body, when you're not eating, it thinks you're starving, which is good, but it's a little painful.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Let's look at this.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Fasting causes low blood sugar and makes you faint.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Your body's an incredible machine, ladies and gentlemen.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: If you're healthy, it's gonna keep all that stuff normalized.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: But check with your doctor if you're taking different medications for blood pressure, you're taking insulin, if you're type 2 diabetic, whatever it may be, you might want to get your blessing from your doctor because, yes, if you miss a meal, then it could be that you you need to adjust your intake, your medication, because it could create some kind of a uh a snafu in your system.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: So please watch out for that.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Make sure you get your doctor's advice.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: But if you are healthy, it's going to keep everything in regulation.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: What you're feeling, this low blood sugar, it's really not low blood sugar for the most part, unless you're not healthy.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: It's actually you just missing eating and it's hunger.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: And there you can deal with that.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: All right, just ride that out.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Number seven, fasting isn't sustainable.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I started this in 2001.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: No, 2021, now it's 2025.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great, it's sustainable.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: I won't eat two or three days of the week, most most weeks.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: It just depends on where I want.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: I'll still go on a long 7, 10, 14-day fast.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: I've now started to play with dry fasting.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: I really like it.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: But again, that's super next level stuff.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Make sure you talk to your doctor before don't not drink any liquid for two, three, four days or whatever it may be.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Just stick with the water fasting, folks.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Black coffee, unsweetened tea, right, and water.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: And if you could just stick with water even better, because you probably have a caffeine addiction if you're going to be drinking coffee.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: And with the coffee and the caffeine, it does help with appetite, just throwing it out there.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: But again, if you want to do this all-in-one purge and get rid of this dopamine response and the excess of dopamine we have because of all the stimulation we get all the time, maybe you want to lay off of the coffee too while you fast.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: But don't try to bite off too much.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: You just missing a couple meals every once in a while.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: It's probably going to make a pretty good dent and then do a complete day of night eating anything, and then so on and so forth.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: You'll get it.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: But fasting, as far as I'm concerned, my lifestyle, I think a lot of other people, it is sustainable.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: So don't uh fall into that.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Fasting always depletes your energy and mental focus.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Your eyeballs are going to get sharper, vision's going to get sharper, sense of smell is going to be amazing, you're just going to be wanting to get out there and you're going to want to eat.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: So that's where the fasting comes in.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And as far as I'm concerned, my mental and physical get much sharper, like a razor, when I'm not eating any food.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Think about how much energy is used for digestion.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Well, when you shut down your digestion, digestive system, then that energy is going somewhere else.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: Well, your body is cleansing.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: If you're not eating, if you don't eat for long enough, your body switches into something called autophagy, which is basically eating all those bad, malignant cells you have in your body.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: So there's good repair there, and that could increase longevity over time.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Again, talk to your doctor and look up autophagy.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: But there's been some amazing studies and discoveries that have happened because of this process where people, when they quit eating for a while, the body starts to self-repair.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: It issues stem cells, it goes after tumors, it goes after all sorts of malformed cells that could eventually become cancer.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Look into those studies and see what it's like.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: But believe you me, there's a lot more benefits besides getting lean.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: But lean ain't bad.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: If that was all it did, it would still be worth it.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Alright, so fasting isn't sustainable.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, I said fasting always depletes your energy and mental focus.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Again, myth.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Let's see, number nine, fasting is only for weight loss, no other benefits.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we talked about that.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: We got autophagy.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: Your body, so there is no net, there's no such thing as a necessary carbohydrate.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: You don't need them.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: You need fat, you need protein, you don't need carbohydrates.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: But your brain does operate on glucose, it likes it, so it works out good.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: So let's say you burn through every bit of stored sugar in your body.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Your body makes from fat, it will make sugar through gluconeogenesis.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: It will actually make its own sugar to power your brain.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: So you get that.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: You get your body making enough.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: That's why your blood sugar stays stable all throughout the fast, because your body is making what it needs for the organs that run on it, but you don't need it from the inside.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Your body does a great job of making it.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Now, as far as those other benefits, it's good as cellular cleanse.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I've seen scars go away.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I know people aren't going to believe it.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: I've seen scars go away as well with fasting and loose skin.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Loose skin is actually a minimum because the fact that that the loose skin itself, the stretched and bad skin, it's actually malformed.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: It's erroneous skin, or what's another word for it?
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: But it is corrupted.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: So the body will go in and clean all that up via autophagy if you fast long enough, and it will make that skin tighter than it normally would be if you tried to get it off with caloric restriction.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Let me throw this out here.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: I've seen people succeed on caloric restriction, and they're very happy with what they've done.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: But again, is that an exception to the rule?
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: I know that it didn't work for me.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: I know that the whole world says to restrict calories, and it seems like we still have an obesity problem.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Fasting's kind of coming around the bend pretty quick.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: People are talking about it, but the problem with it, it's free.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: You don't have to buy food when you fast.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: There's nothing to do except not eat.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And it's hard to monetize that.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Plus, fasting heals a lot of stuff.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: In fact, my fasting, I got done with a lot of medication.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: I was dependent on all of it.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: I don't take anything.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: And that's because of the fasting.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: I don't know in the medical world if that's a good place to be for the people that monetize the medicines and those sorts of things.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: So watch out.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Also, when you fast, lift some weights.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Just just for the heck of it.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: You're not going to go out there and become Schwarzenegger or these other people.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: But just, Coleman, just lift some weights.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Do some curls, do some shoulder presses.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Just start to feel it because we used to go hunt.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Now you might be sitting in front of your computer.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: So I got a couple of dumbbells like you can see under my arm there.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: I have those with me.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: I'll do lateral raises.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: I'll sit in a chair with a back.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Now I have a stool without a back, so I can try to engage my core.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: It just depends on what I'm doing.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Try to do different things.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Don't sit all day long.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Even when you're fasting, don't sit all day long.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Still have some movement.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: And even if you're not going to fast, that movement's really important.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And number 10, here's another myth and final fasting is a new fad diet.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: It's been around for a long time.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: It's been around a lot longer than any of us.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: It's been around in the most earliest forms of religion, talking about giving attributions to God and honoring God by not eating.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: It's in the Bible.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: It's in all different other religions as well.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: It really is a great reset.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: So if you have the weight to drop, you can probably fast as long as it takes to get it off.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Angus Barbari did, I think, 382 days without eating anything.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: It's a mindset, right?
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: We wrap ourselves too much around food.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: And I don't, I'm not saying it's a great idea to go out there and not eat for a year, but it worked for him, and fasting does work.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: You just have to want it bad enough.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Now, if you've tried caloric restriction, you've tried other things, you know what, that's fine.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: But even when you look at these new weight loss medications, the Ozympics and these sorts of things, they actually do what?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: They wrangle your appetite.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: They grab your appetite and they pull you in tight so you don't eat.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Well, if you could do that without the drug, that might not be a bad place to be.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: So they do that same thing.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: They also do other things too.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: If that's what you need, just remember the fasting.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: And with that, you're not going to be eating either.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: So it's going to be somewhat like a fast.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: That you're going to probably have caloric restriction.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know how they work when you start taking it.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know if they tell you you still have to eat.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: I don't say if it's okay to fast.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know if they tell you it's okay to fast.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: But either way, just watch out for yourselves.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: If you've been fat for a long time, I was fat all of my life.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: I had some periods in there when I was less fat.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: But let's face it, folks, I was still fat.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: And I still battle with that food addiction every single day.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Whenever I fast, though, I prepare myself.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: I get ready to do it.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: And I try to cover all my bases.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Now I said earlier I'm doing dry fasting.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: That's even a little bit more difficult because you keep telling yourself, well, I need water to survive.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Your body makes metabolic water through the hydrogen and the fat cells, the oxygen coming in, H2O, right?
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: So it will actually eviscerate a fat cell to make metabolic water.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Again, much more advanced, just wrap your just letting you know there's so much more to this whole world.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: Brain, eyesight, skin, everything just seems to get better.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Plus, when you're not eating for two or three days, you know what?
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: You're not addicted.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: If you can go without stuff for that long, you have just become less than 1% of the world by not eating for a day or two.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: It's really amazing.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: Anyway, it's it works for me.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Maybe it can work for you.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: I will tell you you want to check with your doctor, you want to make sure that whatever it is you're going to do isn't going to mess you up all the way or cause you big problems.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: But I haven't found any medical professionals that can really counter the success that people have seen from fasting.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with Honor.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: I hope this helped.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I don't have anything to sell.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: I sell houses.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: If you know anybody that's interested in that realm, please send them my way, even if they're wanting to buy somewhere besides Southern California.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: I operate everywhere and I can definitely refer them and try to get some, well, whatever.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: I hope you're well.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for watching.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: We will see you in the next one.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: Connor with honor, over and out.
