- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Because when you are doing something while you have to, it makes a difference if you are happy to do it.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: It's from the Ayurveda also.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: If you do something under pressure, don't do it.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Because it builds the armor in your body and you don't have the positive effect.
- 0:21Mary Lee: Hey my listeners, so glad to have you back.
- 0:24Mary Lee: And if you're new, welcome.
- 0:25Mary Lee: My name is Mary, and I'm the host of the Menopause Disruptor Podcast.
- 0:29Mary Lee: We've been running this show for close to three years now.
- 0:32Mary Lee: Wow.
- 0:33Mary Lee: This will be an interesting topic to discuss.
- 0:36Mary Lee: It is the intersection of science spirituality, and I've been promising you we're entering that world more and more.
- 0:42Mary Lee: And today we'll be doing that with my next guest.
- 0:44Mary Lee: But I want to ask you this What if the changes we experience in midlife aren't simply symptoms to manage, but messages inviting us to look more deeply at our lives?
- 0:56Mary Lee: My guest today has spent nearly three decades exploring the question that I just asked through the fascinating lens of beauty, the body, energy, spirituality, and of course women's transformation.
- 1:09Mary Lee: Christine Roof began her journey into holistic beauty after developing significant skin problems in her 20s.
- 1:17Mary Lee: What started as a search for answers to her own skin became a much bigger exploration of the relationship between her outer appearance and our inner world.
- 1:27Mary Lee: Over the years, Christine expanded her training into Air Veda, Who know Healing, Orostoma, Spigiric Medicine, Energetic Spinal Alignment, Reset Jaw Balance and Facial Analysis, developing what she describes as a repertoire of tools to support both inner and outer beauty.
- 1:46Mary Lee: Today, her work with women in menopause is deeply rooted in the belief that this transition in life isn't an ending, it is an opportunity to pause, reassess, release what no longer fits us, and rise like the Phoenix into a new version of herself.
- 2:02Mary Lee: Christine works out of her clinic in southern Germany, close to the Switzerland border, and she is the creator of Phoenix Rising, a 12-week online program to support women in menopause.
- 2:14Mary Lee: To learn more about Christina and find her work, you can follow her on Instagram at energy.beauty.cosmetics.
- 2:22Mary Lee: And you can find her program and all about her work on her website, ChristineRoof.com, spelled C-H-R-I-S-T-I-N-E-R-U-F.
- 2:33Mary Lee: Please join me in welcoming Christine Roof to the Menopause Disruptor Podcast.
- 2:37Mary Lee: Christine Roof, so glad to have you here on the Menopause Disruptor Podcast.
- 2:42Mary Lee: Welcome.
- 2:43Mary Lee: Thank you very much, Mary Lee.
- 2:45Mary Lee: Thank you.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: You have quite an exciting story.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Take us back.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: I have to say at the moment, I have 60 years.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I'm 60 years old.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I have a daughter with 20 years, so the mom at 40, which is normally very late.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: And the doctor, he tried to make that I am afraid, you know.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: And um, I sat there, I said to him, Listen, I come from a healthy family, I'm a healthy person, so there should not be any trouble during the pregnancy and also during the birth.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: And so it was.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: And I'm working about 30 years as a beautician.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And I love uh the nature and all the nature beings that all have the natural look.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: For example, if the women wake up in the morning, that they can look in the mirror and they love themselves, as they are, Christina.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And also me, I can go to the bakery in the morning without makeup.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: It's no need to put everything on your face, you know, because also the glow is coming from the inside.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And so also during my journey about 20 years ago, I went in contact with plant remedies, which is called spaguric.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: It's a kind of homeopathic.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And spaguric is the word from Greece, which says how they get the essence.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So it's like you put it together, you put it away, and you put it together again.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: And at the end, you will get the essence.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And with those remedies, you can.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: I know you are not allowed to say this anymore, but it is like this.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: You can heal the body with different illnesses too.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: And it is working also on your soul and on your mind.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And I'm really in love with these remedies.
- 5:08Mary Lee: So before we dive into this, I want you to take us in the 1990s, you suddenly developed significant skin problems.
- 5:15Mary Lee: And that ultimately led to you training as a beautician.
- 5:19Mary Lee: So looking back, what did your skin teach you about the relationship between what happens inside and what we see on the outside?
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Well, I was in a new relationship at this moment, and I think my soul still knew that with this relationship something wasn't good.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: And I can tell you now with this man, I was together.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: He died later with cancer.
- 5:50Mary Lee: Oh dear.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: And perhaps still my soul knew this when we connected, and I got ill with the skin.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, your emotional state was coming out, the stress.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: And further, I was working in an office, and there also I wasn't very happy.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: So I decided to make way of a beautician.
- 6:16Mary Lee: So when you were working with women, yeah, and beyond the beauty like you spoke of, beyond the mirror, beyond the interior levels and the makeup, when you realize quite early that sometimes a woman sitting in the treatment, her beauty consultation, her treatments, isn't necessarily in need of another beauty cream.
- 6:39Mary Lee: What she's really looking for, perhaps, is what's happening inside her life.
- 6:42Mary Lee: So when did you first understand that?
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: That beauty was I had this experience still yesterday.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: I had a new client here.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: She came for food treatment only.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: At the end, she told me nearly the whole life.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: And she has at the moment a problem with her man.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: She wants to break up the relationship, and she talked about everything without knowing me because she was there the first time.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: And what she said, I think that's really right.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I have something on me that people from themselves they tell me everything, and I get really early to the point.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: What is the problem?
- 7:35Mary Lee: Yes.
- 7:36Mary Lee: You know what I mean?
- 7:38Mary Lee: So you're their beautician, you're their consultant, their confidant, their coach, their counselor, all in one.
- 7:48Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 7:48Mary Lee: And so that speaks, I would say, to a lot, energy work.
- 7:53Mary Lee: When we are feel drawn and magnetized to the energy of another person, and our nervous system feels safe that we can disclose exactly what's happening in our lives.
- 8:04Mary Lee: So, and that is some of the work that you do, as I understand, nervous system regulation.
- 8:08Mary Lee: Let's start getting into that.
- 8:10Mary Lee: In fact, tell us all about your program and the way you work with women on all those facets from hormone balance, beauty, different treatments and modalities, and nervous system.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I think all the problems of a menopause starts still more earlier in the life.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: So true.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Because with all the stress women have, they have to care about their families, about the kids, about the husbands, about the work, about the house, about the dog, about everything.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And they don't care about them.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Because they don't have time and not more the energy, also, because they are doing such a lot of stuff all day long.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: And so also there is the nutrition for the body is slow, and then also your nervous system gets out of balance.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Of course, of course, it has to be.
- 9:50Mary Lee: Yes.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: That's something we learn in.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Everything is connected.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And no wonder you have problems.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: And so I decided also in my program to learn the women the reset chore line treatment.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: They can do it at home.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: And it's an energetical treatment.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: The saved in the chore line.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 10:24Mary Lee: So tell us a little bit about that technique that you can do at home.
- 10:28Mary Lee: I know a lot of women are experiencing in this part of life in the transition TMJD, so problems with clenching, grinding, bruxism.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Also then everything comes down.
- 10:44Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Yes, restriction of the threat.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: And then they are going to the doctor and get the lifting.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: When all along they could be yeah, but it doesn't solve the problem.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: So you have you have to release really all the pressure you hold back in your jawline with this treatment.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: And it's a treatment that, as I told you before, you can do it for yourself.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: I will show them how to put the hand, where to put exactly, and so the pressure releases.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 11:24Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 11:25Mary Lee: So it's just a hand treatment, a hand therapy.
- 11:28Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 11:28Mary Lee: Like almost like a gentle massage, a self-massage.
- 11:31Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 11:32Mary Lee: Like that.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: And also when I'm doing treatments like this on the clients, they can feel the energy because my finger and my hands get very hot.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Ah so the energy is flowing.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: And this is some of the principles of Reiki.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Further and further and further, I have the emotional balance according to Dr.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Roy Martina, which is a tapping.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: You tap the aerials, and you have the affirmation also to release all stuff which you are holding back in your body.
- 12:14Mary Lee: So with all of these modalities that you've learned in culmination of the beautician training, your own experiences, going through the transition of menopause and realizing what's happening in the body, these subtle shifts and changes in how we're holding on to pressure.
- 12:31Mary Lee: You've expanded now your vast knowledge into Air Veda and the jawline technique, their jawline reset.
- 12:40Mary Lee: So tell us how this all came together into your one program now that you offer women.
- 12:47Mary Lee: And more importantly, why did you give it the name that it has, Phoenix Ryan?
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Well, all the treatments are the treatments I learned by myself also during the last years, and where I have experienced with my clients how it is working.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And I saw it, how it's working on the women and also on men, of course, because also men have problems in the jawline, not only the women.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And the name of my program, Phoenix Rising, is because I want that the women knew that they can get up like a phoenix from the ashes.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Beautiful, beautiful metaphor.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: And also, this I heard weeks ago.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: It's us, and there are four types of whales.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's right.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: The orca and so.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: And that's because the female orcas, after the menopause, they will be the leader of the group.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: And we have to remember also that we get up and get also the leader.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Because the women are suffering because everybody tells you in menopause your life is finished, you get dry, you will break down, you will have all the hot flashes, you will have this and this and this, and you're not interesting anymore for the for men.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: But that's not true.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: We have to remember who we are and which force we have in us, what power we have in us, and what menopause really means.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: We make a transformation to something better.
- 14:50Mary Lee: Absolutely.
- 14:52Mary Lee: I speak that often, and as you well know, Ayeda philosophy recognizes menopause two ways.
- 15:01Mary Lee: I speak about this so often that it's the age of wisdom because it's a culmination of our lived experience, which translates into understanding not just ourselves, but our place in the world.
- 15:15Mary Lee: And those experiences give us that wisdom.
- 15:18Mary Lee: But secondly, is that it's the time of the great reveal, revealing to us like everything that's been buried.
- 15:25Mary Lee: As you well said, we're so busy doing things for everybody else that we push down.
- 15:30Mary Lee: We don't have time to take care of ourselves.
- 15:33Mary Lee: But then suddenly they come rising to the surface, they manifest, like you were saying, tension in the jaw.
- 15:42Mary Lee: Yeah, our skin, all these things.
- 15:46Mary Lee: It's like it's percolating, bubbling up to the top, but not to cause us grief, would you agree?
- 15:51Mary Lee: But it's to reveal to us something great or something more beautiful.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And also, I think we have to remember that we are divine, divine species.
- 16:13Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 16:13Mary Lee: So beautiful, divine.
- 16:15Mary Lee: I love that.
- 16:16Mary Lee: Christine, tell us a little bit more about the work that you do.
- 16:20Mary Lee: There, I mean, there's you have several modalities.
- 16:23Mary Lee: I'm very curious in terms of what they are, including Huna healing or uh Huna healing, yeah.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: That's from Hawaii.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: I love this.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Well, I figured this years ago, the Huna healing, because in Hawaii, and for example, when I'm talking with clients or people and the theme is cancer, because a lot of people they are afraid to get cancer.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: And they will do everything what the doctor is telling them.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: So they always ask me, What will you do, Christine?
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: And my answer, listen well.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: I say, okay, if I'm at the doctor and he will tell me I have cancer, I will go home, get my luggage, go to Hawaii immediately, and I will go to the Huna that they will work with me and help me to heal from this illness.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: And then the next question is but if it's not working, what are you doing?
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Then I will die with sunny weather.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 17:42Mary Lee: At least you're in a beautiful, beautiful location to live out your last days.
- 17:48Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: The Huna healing, the Hunas, it's like the Ayurveda, also.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: It's really a big healing part of Hawaii.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: And they are able to, it's like they go in your brain to bring you back to the time where you got ill, so that you can see what happened in your life there, what was the cause that you got ill, and in your brain they change the situation, and the illness goes back.
- 18:28Mary Lee: Okay.
- 18:29Mary Lee: Ah, interesting.
- 18:31Mary Lee: So, I mean, I've heard it before, and I'm gonna forget the name of this particular place, and I've even visited it, but that's Menopause Brain.
- 18:40Mary Lee: There's a place there's a beautiful location on the cliffs in Kauai, and it I have heard this that the Dalai Lama would visit there.
- 18:50Mary Lee: In fact, a movie was made at the same location, and I learned this from the helicopter pilot who gave us an aerial tour of this of the island of Kauai, and he will climb up to the top of the cliff and he'll sit and meditate and give prayers because it's his belief, and I'm trying to find a reference to this, so I'm paraphrasing or quoting hearsay information from this pilot, that he would pray for the souls because it is his understanding that all of the souls enter and leave Earth through this sacred location in Kwai.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: And now when you talk about this Huna healing, and also the Huna, for example, when they see there will be a terrible storm, because around Hawaii, sometimes there are all the bad storms, so they know before the storm is coming, so they are speaking in the mind with the clouds, with the sky, with the storm, that he will leave and that he will not attack the island.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they are doing really uh great work there for the whole earth.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Wow, beautiful.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's also they have a circle.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: You can send them an email if you have somebody who is really ill who needs support.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: They put the name in the circle and are working with the soul.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, that he will heal.
- 20:22Mary Lee: That is so beautiful.
- 20:23Mary Lee: So tell us about some of the experiences you've had with your clients with the Huna healing.
- 20:28Mary Lee: What are what are they experiencing?
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Or do you administer it?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I have a great experience because once there was a lady, she wanted to have the Huna massage, and I did it with her, and at the end she started to cry.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, and she didn't know why.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: But I know it's also the energy who released and so on.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: And then at the end, she told me she wants to have a baby because her sister has kids, but she not, so she was really sad to have no baby.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, and about after one year, I saw her in the city, she had a baby one year later.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, fantastic! Wow, but I have to say she also changed the man.
- 21:23Mary Lee: Oh wow, okay, yes.
- 21:25Mary Lee: He was well, there you go.
- 21:27Mary Lee: He was the wrong match.
- 21:29Mary Lee: Your massage probably brought up something in her nervous system, and she had to deal with it, which meant ditch the ditch the partner, find a more fertile one, a viable one.
- 21:42Mary Lee: Fantastic.
- 21:43Mary Lee: This is quite interesting.
- 21:44Mary Lee: I'm really curious.
- 21:45Mary Lee: I want to learn more about some of these modalities.
- 21:49Mary Lee: But dive into that, your program, the Phoenix Rising.
- 21:53Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 21:54Mary Lee: What's involved?
- 21:56Mary Lee: And can women who are not in your physical location still benefit from this program?
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm doing this 12 week program online.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: So are women Around the uh world can get it, can get access, no problem.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: And as I went through the menopause too, I was really thinking a lot about this, and also all the clients I have are always talking about the menopause and the problems they have.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: So I was really thinking about what happens in the body, in the mind, that we feel so bad.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: So I put together all the treatments, which I think make really more sense.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: We have, for example, also the detox of the acid of the body.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: So it's a detox program.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: What you can do at home also with bath, you make alkaline bath, you have also alkaline nutrition, that the cells get more the alkaline for the process.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: And then, as we told before, the chore line reset and the tapping, the emotional balance, because that's very, very important because the people, the women, they hold so much back on emotions and so on.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: We have to release everything, we have to really to release to detox not only the body, also our mind.
- 23:38Mary Lee: Oh, yes, yes, beautifully spoken.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Then we have the spaguric remedies.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: There are mixtures.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: If you have hot flashes, if you are not able to sleep, you can get the remedies, the plant remedies.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And we have also what I'm doing also is the facial diagnose according to Dr.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Schwisler.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: It's biochemistry.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you know the Schwisler salt, it's called.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: So we have, for example, the magnesium, the calcium, of course, uh the ferrum, and so on.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: And you can see it in your face, what you need, what is missing in your body.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: And so I can make the facial diagnose also on the computer because I see you, and I can immediately tell you should take this salt or this salt, and so on.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: Then further, we have a great point too.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: It's the numerology.
- 24:47Mary Lee: Oh, now you're talking my language.
- 24:50Mary Lee: I am big on numbers.
- 24:53Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 24:55Mary Lee: 444 angel numbers tattooed on my forearm.
- 25:00Mary Lee: This is gonna be an audio podcast.
- 25:02Mary Lee: So just for my listeners, I'm showing Christine on our Zoom right now my 444 tattoo.
- 25:08Mary Lee: Fours are huge in my life.
- 25:10Mary Lee: Numerology.
- 25:11Mary Lee: Okay, do tell.
- 25:11Mary Lee: Sorry, Christine, I had to jump in.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Three years ago, I made an education in numerology, and there I discovered that my way in life should be to teach people, to lead people, and so there was also Phoenix Rising born then after this experience.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: And for example, in the numerology, according to the birth date, we can look what you have, the soul number, what your soul wants that you're doing in your life.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: And I think also perhaps the women who are doing this program with me, they will see a new way on in their life, or sometimes they knew what talent they have and they were weren't able to do it all the life, and now we have the time that she is going ahead and doing what her soul wants to do in this life.
- 27:08Mary Lee: Yes.
- 27:10Mary Lee: So just for our listeners that if they're not familiar with numerology, your soul number, your birth number is you take the date of your birth.
- 27:17Mary Lee: For me, it's May 28th, 1969, and you add up all those numbers the month, five, the day 28, the year 1969, and you whittle it down until you have a single digit between one and nine.
- 27:33Mary Lee: And I ended up being a four.
- 27:35Mary Lee: But Christine, tell us though, that's not necessarily where our number will show up, is it?
- 27:41Mary Lee: We'll start to see this reoccurrence almost as if the universe has given us a little poke.
- 27:47Mary Lee: Is that right?
- 27:48Mary Lee: Would you say that that number tends to appear in different ways, whether it's just we see it?
- 27:54Mary Lee: For me, I see it in so many different ways.
- 27:56Mary Lee: Like I'll say, oh, that's letter M, number 13 in the alphabet, whittle that down, four.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: You you have to look really on your whole name, and you have to put your name also in numbers because also this our names have also energy and they are doing something with us.
- 28:20Mary Lee: So true, yeah.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and really also your birthday date.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: If you are going to looking on the numbers on your birthday, you see what talent you have and why you are like you are.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: And if you say you are number four, the number fours they are very clear and they have they are like really straight and at home.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Checks and balances.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: Everything is on the right place, for example.
- 28:55Mary Lee: I call it OCD, but you're right.
- 28:58Mary Lee: If there's no organization in my life, be it in my home or on my computer.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: Number four calendar, yeah.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: Neat structure, organization, yeah.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: That's the format, for example.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: This is so true.
- 29:12Mary Lee: Yeah, but then you teach women with the program, numerology being just one facet of that program, you teach them with that number, whatever it reveals to them, how then to work with that within their life to pursue life's purposes.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, it will be like this.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: I will look on their birthday numbers and make the calculation for the soul plan, and I can tell them then to each what is their soul plan, and we can talk about this.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you can feel it in your inside still, you know it.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: That inner knowing, beautiful, and sometimes you you need only a little kick from somebody that you're going ahead, isn't it like this?
- 29:58Mary Lee: Yeah, yeah, like working with a coach or a counselor, it's that little nudge, that little affirmation.
- 30:05Mary Lee: But my belief is that any course or modality that we're drawn to has already energetically aligned with who we are, at the divine core essence of who we are.
- 30:19Mary Lee: And energetically we are drawn.
- 30:21Mary Lee: I might just totally disregard one course over another or one modality over another, but the mere fact that an individual is drawn to it has already sparked or affirmed within them what it is that they need to learn to get further nudges along to answer the truth, a question that's been burning deep inside.
- 30:45Mary Lee: And isn't that one of life's biggest questions next to who am I?
- 30:49Mary Lee: Is what is my purpose?
- 30:51Mary Lee: Yeah, of course.
- 30:52Mary Lee: And Phoenix Rising is a program that allows them.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: So I'm I made this whole stuff together to complete or to support also the women in this phase, not only to give some hormones, not only to fix that they are not sleeping, because I think it's a whole thing why they are suffering.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 31:17Mary Lee: The whole person, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: And also in my numerology, for example, it shows that I am a person.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: I see the things in another way.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And that's of course why phoenix rising is something else than normal on the market with all the diets and sport program and so on and hormones.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: It's something different because I think also we need something different.
- 31:52Mary Lee: Yeah, we gotta break free from the conventional, the following the trend, what everybody else is doing, because a lot of those programs are still putting emphasis, like you mentioned, on the diet and the hormones.
- 32:05Mary Lee: That is still speaking to symptoms of which many of them are on the exterior, my skin or my weight, my waistline, my belly fat.
- 32:18Mary Lee: Yes, these things are important because they can speak to something that's greater, bigger that's going on in the body.
- 32:24Mary Lee: Um, belly fat, visceral fat can often be associated with fat around our organs that needs to be addressed, yes.
- 32:31Mary Lee: But still, women are getting bombarded with messages that it has to be about our exterior that needs to be looked after.
- 32:38Mary Lee: And that hence there's so many courses on the market because that is easy to market to.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: Women will spend all kinds of money to make all this look beautiful and maybe negate what's on the inside, and also I think we are part of the nature.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: Why should nature feel when we are in menopause that there is something wrong with us?
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and everybody tells us something is wrong with us because we are in menopause.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a transformation, and we have to go away to focus only on the belly fat and the bad things.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Let us show something else, something positive, and it releases with the time also your belly fat, I'm sure.
- 33:36Mary Lee: 100%.
- 33:38Mary Lee: I can't agree with you more on that one, Christine, because a lot of women that I work with and train for strength training are still struggling with the belly fat.
- 33:47Mary Lee: They're building muscle cardiovascular-wise, they're doing great things for the body, building muscle, metabolically more active tissue, but they're still holding on in the belly.
- 33:57Mary Lee: And then I will sit down with them, put on my menopause doula hat and say, What's happening in your life right now?
- 34:04Mary Lee: What kind of stress are you going through?
- 34:06Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 34:06Mary Lee: How's sleep?
- 34:07Mary Lee: And you know, what do you do when you're going through these emotional experiences and you feel your nervous system getting dysregulated?
- 34:13Mary Lee: What are you doing to regulate it?
- 34:16Mary Lee: And then that starts becoming a bigger question of what are you holding on to?
- 34:22Mary Lee: Because whatever that is you're holding on to emotionally manifests as the weight that we hold on to at the midsection.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:32Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 34:34Mary Lee: Very interesting.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: And therefore, I decided in my program to do this work with emotional balance, with the research or line that you can really release all the emotions that are stuck in your body.
- 34:51Mary Lee: Exactly.
- 34:51Mary Lee: And a lot of that is somatic work too, is understanding or recognizing where it is being held in the body and then using the body.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: Also, there is such a lot of pressure on the women, and they make pressure on themselves also during the menopause, as you tell, they are going to the gym, they are doing the training.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: But I don't think if they are really happy with all the training they are doing.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Because when you are doing something while you have to, it makes a difference if you are happy to do it.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: It's from the Ayurveda also.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: If you do something under pressure, don't do it.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Because it builds the armor in your body and you don't have the positive effect.
- 35:43Mary Lee: Very interesting.
- 35:45Mary Lee: Yes, that's true.
- 35:46Mary Lee: And that's why I am so excited when I do what I do is that these are people who come because they generally love that sensation in their body when they move.
- 35:57Mary Lee: And it's not always just the lifting heavy yoga, for example.
- 36:01Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 36:02Mary Lee: The fluidity that you can enjoy with the breath work in a yoga session.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Or make a nap in the afternoon.
- 36:10Mary Lee: Or have a nap and give yourself permission.
- 36:13Mary Lee: Say, I am 100% allowed to do this.
- 36:16Mary Lee: Yeah, beautiful.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: And further, then I had the idea to make this coloring book.
- 36:24Mary Lee: Wow.
- 36:25Mary Lee: Second bloom.
- 36:26Mary Lee: Christine is showing us or showing me the coloring book.
- 36:30Mary Lee: Beautiful drawings of women of all seasons with little affirmations.
- 36:36Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 36:37Mary Lee: Now is this book, Christine, available on your website?
- 36:41Mary Lee: Amazon.
- 36:43Mary Lee: On Amazon.
- 36:44Mary Lee: Okay, we'll get that link in the show notes below.
- 36:46Mary Lee: So everybody check that out.
- 36:48Mary Lee: That is so wise.
- 36:50Mary Lee: Okay.
- 36:51Mary Lee: I need to know what is your number, your soul number, because I'm gonna guess, but I thought my my life number is a one.
- 36:58Mary Lee: I'm a one yeah foundation building structures.
- 37:03SPEAKER_00: And it's also the femininity, and it's also the leader.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And it's this it's the sun.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: Number one, it's it's the sun.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: The sun sign, yeah.
- 37:13Mary Lee: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:15Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 37:16Mary Lee: That makes sense.
- 37:17Mary Lee: Uh yeah.
- 37:18Mary Lee: And the sun is also associated with Leo and the solar plexus and fire and the center of doing and creating.
- 37:29Mary Lee: That's that makes sense.
- 37:30Mary Lee: And you are doing so much.
- 37:31Mary Lee: Oh wow, this is quite exciting.
- 37:34Mary Lee: What you have to offer.
- 37:36Mary Lee: We've spoken so much on many things, including Air Veda and Huna and energy work and spagyuric medicine, jawline reset.
- 37:46Mary Lee: This is truly an example of where science and spirituality can have a conversation without one negating the other or invalidating the other when it comes to understanding our menopause symptoms, but more so the transition of, like you said, birthing into something like a second spring has been said to me before, becoming that person, coming home to the person we're supposed to be.
- 38:12Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 38:12Mary Lee: How do you feel you navigate that intersection from what you've learned about the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual aspects of a woman?
- 38:19Mary Lee: How do you comfortably help women navigate that intersection without it feeling too embedded in, like you said, biology and hormones, and not too embedded in the woo-woo aspects?
- 38:34Mary Lee: That's what we say.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Woo-woo.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: I think all of the treatments which I put together in my program are really uh with a good foundation.
- 38:49Mary Lee: Foundation, number one.
- 38:50Mary Lee: There we go.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's really a good foundation, and it is always to help the body that he can heal from himself.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Oh yes.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: So it's not the who-hoo.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: The body's designed to heal.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: And he's able to, if he has the calmness, the time, the nutrition, he will heal.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: And if you have released all the drama in your life, which we all have.
- 39:26Mary Lee: So true.
- 39:27Mary Lee: Addressing it and then learning how to let it go.
- 39:30Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 39:31Mary Lee: Christine, tell our listeners where they can find you, how they can work with you, either in your clinic for those in your area and online with your 12-week program Phoenix Rising.
- 39:43Mary Lee: And we'll also share in the show notes your book.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: At the moment, you can find me on Instagram.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: I have my Instagram account, I have my Facebook account, and also my TikTok.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: And you are really invited to write me on this on these socials.
- 40:03Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: And to connect with me too.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: Because also on Instagram, I publish always new videos with new information and new thoughts.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 40:18Mary Lee: It's a great way to get to know somebody intimately.
- 40:22Mary Lee: You can also write me an email if you want to.
- 40:26Mary Lee: Lovely.
- 40:27Mary Lee: We'll be sure to put all those links to your website, to your course, to your social media handles in the show notes.
- 40:35Mary Lee: I always like to end with something fun and allows the listeners and me to get to know you a little bit more intimately, if you will.
- 40:45Mary Lee: So I have a series of rapid-fired questions for you.
- 40:49Mary Lee: Are you ready?
- 40:50Mary Lee: I'm ready.
- 40:52Mary Lee: Okay.
- 40:52Mary Lee: One word that describes menopause to you.
- 40:56Mary Lee: Rebirth.
- 40:58Mary Lee: Oh.
- 40:59Mary Lee: Menopause myth.
- 41:01Mary Lee: You would love to burn to the ground.
- 41:03Mary Lee: It's really a rebirth.
- 41:05unknown: Yeah.
- 41:06SPEAKER_00: It's a new beginning, a new age, new area.
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:12Mary Lee: Next question.
- 41:13Mary Lee: Something every woman should stop apologizing for.
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: That she cares for her for herself.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: That she puts her on the first part in the life.
- 41:27Mary Lee: So Darvine, right, we shouldn't have to apologize for that.
- 41:30Mary Lee: And then on the flip side, what is one thing women should start saying no to?
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: To all the work they have to do, or they or the family put all the work on them.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Say no, I have no time.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: You have to care for the children, you have to care for your parents and for the parents of your husband and so on.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: No.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, next question.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: What is your go-to practice to regulate your nervous system?
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Going to swim at the moment because we have really summer and it's hot and we have close, we have close the lake, but it has less water at the moment, so it's not so funny to go there to swim.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: But I'm going to the pool close to me and take some time off and take a swim.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: That's beautiful.
- 42:24Mary Lee: Yeah.
- 42:25Mary Lee: One with the water.
- 42:27Mary Lee: Yes.
- 42:27Mary Lee: And what is your favorite way to reconnect with yourself?
- 42:31Mary Lee: During Pilates.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: When I'm doing Pilates, I have two small Pilates courses which I'm doing here in my house too.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: And one is a men class, only men.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: They come to me now for 13 years.
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, wonderful.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: So when I'm doing Pilates, I would say yes.
- 42:54Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 42:55Mary Lee: All right, we're going to close with just one more question for our listeners.
- 43:00Mary Lee: What is one thing you want every woman listening to right now to know about the woman she is becoming?
- 43:08Mary Lee: That she's wonderful.
- 43:10Mary Lee: Beautiful.
- 43:12Mary Lee: Mic drop right there.
- 43:15Mary Lee: Oh good.
- 43:17Mary Lee: Christine, it has been such a pleasure exploring your modalities of healing, understanding your approach to menopause, and all that your gifts and all of the things that you've share, including sharing your time with me in this space.
- 43:34Mary Lee: Thank you for being a guest on the Menopause Disruptive podcast.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
