In which Pamela, with gentle forthrightness and pious reflection, confides in Mrs. Jervis her fears and resolutions regarding her precarious situation, all the while weaving comfort and resolve from her dutiful affection for her parents and the fragile esteem she holds among her fellow servants. She thoughtfully prepares for her imminent departure in sober, humble attire befitting her station, embodying an innocence and steadfastness that commend her character even amidst the unsettled and unkind behaviour of her master and the curious scrutiny of society’s finer ladies.
