Ep. 44: Falling for a Mysterious Book Cover and Discovering a Classic - "Dr. Smirno's Diary"

In this episode, I’m talking about Dr. Smirno's Diary by Samuel Auguste Duse.

I picked this up at a bookstore purely because it was hidden under a solid black cover that said, "You should read this without knowing the title."

I completely fell for the marketing!

Surprisingly, it turned out to be a pioneering Swedish mystery published over a hundred years ago, back in 1917.

The book was out of print for a long time but is legendary in mystery lovers in Japan.

I’m sharing my honest thoughts on reading this classic completely blind and the fun of unexpected reading encounters.

Thank you so much…
