- 0:56So the reason that you're asking this question about whether your
- 0:59ex will miss you, and it's because you assume that if they
- 1:05miss you that that will make them want to reach out and come
- 1:08back. But what you're really asking
- 1:11is, will they finally realize what they had?
- 1:14Well, are you worth having? I mean, if you were a bad
- 1:19partner, what's to miss now? Hopefully the times when you
- 1:23were anxious, needy, jealous, possessive, out of control were
- 1:28minimal compared to the amount of time their relationship was
- 1:30amazing. Otherwise, once they get past
- 1:33the relief stage, and if they're avoidant, especially dismissive
- 1:36avoidant, even if they do miss you, it may not be enough for
- 1:41them to come back. I know you don't want to hear
- 1:43that, but I'm not here to sugarcoat things.
- 1:45I'm here to tell you the truth, and This is why one of the
- 1:49things that you should be doing while you're in no contact is
- 1:52working on yourself, so that if you don't have a secure
- 1:55attachment style, you work to become more secure.
- 1:58If there are aspects of your life that turn people off, work
- 2:01on those. And when you become a great
- 2:03person to be with, people will find it very hard to leave you.
- 2:06And if they do, the chances of them coming back are very high.
- 2:11When you know that you didn't really do anything wrong in the
- 2:14relationship and it was either the situation or the person's
- 2:17family or the person's own issues that caused the breakup,
- 2:22it's easier to deal with rather than having to blame yourself
- 2:25because you ruined it with your behavior.
- 2:28I was just speaking to a client yesterday and his ex is a
- 2:32classic fearful avoidant. She get pulling away, coming
- 2:34back, pulling away, coming back and he did absolutely nothing
- 2:38wrong and that's frustrating because you do everything right
- 2:43and because of their attachment style, they leave.
- 2:46So of course he needs to stay in no contact until she realizes
- 2:50what she had. Now luckily you still have a
- 2:54chance even if you behave badly, thanks to our friend Fab Faded
- 2:59Affect Bias, which I talk about in my video The Seven Reasons
- 3:04That No Contact Works on Everyone.
- 3:06And I will put the link in the upper right hand corner on
- 3:09YouTube. And basically what it means is
- 3:11that as time goes by, we forget the bad memories associated with
- 3:15a person or situation and are only left with the good
- 3:18memories. I think this this is the mind's
- 3:20way of protecting itself. But in order for this to happen,
- 3:24you have to stay no contact to allow them to get out of the
- 3:27relief stage. And eventually it's the point
- 3:29where they will miss you. And people are afraid to do no
- 3:33contact because they think that their ex would just move on and
- 3:36forget about them and they want them to miss them.
- 3:40And I did a video on this topic and I will put the link of
- 3:44course in the upper right hand corner.
- 3:45So of course this isn't true. But you're coming from a fearful
- 3:49mindset where you see everything the opposite of what it is.
- 3:52It's like the upside down and backward world, backward world
- 3:57in Alice in Wonderland. That's why it's good to get an
- 4:00outside perspective to shed some light on your situation.
- 4:03You literally can't see the forest for the trees.
- 4:06That's why no contact is so important because it allows you
- 4:10time to step away from the situation and begin to see
- 4:13things as they really are, which is harder to do when you're
- 4:16actually in the situation. You get a different perspective
- 4:19and you realize that you actually don't want your ex back
- 4:22sometimes. Now.
- 4:23Also, Mother Nature is playing you.
- 4:28It's causing you to have obsessive thoughts because it
- 4:30wants people to propagate. It does not give a damn about no
- 4:34contact. It just wants people to get back
- 4:36together so they can have sex and get pregnant and continue
- 4:41the human race. Do not let Mother Nature fool
- 4:44you. By the way, if you're finding
- 4:46this video helpful, please hit the subscribe button to make
- 4:49sure you don't miss out on any future videos.
- 4:51Thank you. So just because you haven't
- 4:54heard from them yet or just because it seems as if they are
- 4:59not watching your your social media posts, it doesn't mean
- 5:02they don't miss you. And for all you know, they can
- 5:05be watching from a secondary account or have their friends
- 5:08report back to them what you're posting.
- 5:11Now if you saw that your ex is on a dating app, you might be
- 5:14thinking, well, how could they possibly miss me if they're
- 5:17already looking for someone else?
- 5:19Well, actually that's a good sign sometimes because the fact
- 5:22that they're looking for someone else tells you that they
- 5:25actually miss you and their relationship.
- 5:27Otherwise, they would take the time to grieve and not go
- 5:30looking for a rebound, which is all that that's going to be in
- 5:33most cases. So you have to let time do its
- 5:36thing and not interrupt the process by reaching out to them.
- 5:40They may have thought that their life would be better without
- 5:43you, but when they realize that it isn't, that's when they start
- 5:46to miss you. And I talked about this in my
- 5:48video about no contact and the power of time.
- 5:52And yes, I will put the link in the upper right hand corner so
- 5:56someone can't miss you unless there's been time and space
- 5:59between the two of you. And how much time and space is
- 6:02needed depends on so many variables including attachment
- 6:06style, interest level or reason for the breakup, and length of
- 6:10the relationship. Someone who you were talking
- 6:12with or or who you saw every day is probably going to miss you a
- 6:16lot sooner than someone who you talked to or saw once a week,
- 6:21for example. You need to give them time and
- 6:25let them go through situations where you would normally have
- 6:27been with them and they feel your absence.
- 6:31For example, let's say you had brunch together on Sundays and
- 6:36now it's Sunday and they're not brunching.
- 6:39Or they're there with friends and then maybe their friend will
- 6:41tell a funny story and they'll think about how much you would
- 6:44have enjoyed hearing that story and that's the moment they miss
- 6:48you. Or maybe you used to watch a
- 6:50certain show together and now they're watching it alone.
- 6:54Or maybe they travel to a place that the two of you had been
- 6:58before and the memories of your trip there with them hit hit
- 7:02them when they arrive and when they and that's when they start
- 7:05to miss you. And all these triggers take time
- 7:08to happen. They're not going to happen in
- 7:11the first week after the breakup.
- 7:13Impatience is your enemy and patience is your friend.
- 7:17And most people are impatient, so use this situation to work on
- 7:21your patients if you're usually impatient.
- 7:24If you grew up with parents who always gave you what you wanted
- 7:28and you never had to wait for anything that was not good.
- 7:31At some point life is going to force you to be patient whether
- 7:35you want to be or not. It's imperative that you get
- 7:38into no contact and stay there until they reach out and say
- 7:42something significant. Give them the time and the space
- 7:45to miss you over and over again. Let them find out for themselves
- 7:49that they're that you're not easily replaced and they
- 7:52actually can't live without you. We live in a world where most
- 7:57people are used to instant gratification, so they expect
- 8:00their ex to miss them and reach out within a couple of weeks.
- 8:03And that's just not realistic. If they do reach out and want to
- 8:07get back together in a couple of weeks, then it was a fake
- 8:10breakup. Usually it takes months and
- 8:12months to get an ex back. Even when they realize that they
- 8:15miss you. It's a process.
- 8:18So if you want your ex back, you have to give them the gift of
- 8:21missing you. Only then can they realize what
- 8:24they've lost and reach out and try to win you back.
- 8:27OK, so now I want to hear from you.
- 8:29So what do you think are the situations where your ex is
- 8:35going to miss you? What did you guys always do
- 8:36together that now they're going to have to do alone?
