- 0:17Walking down the street, instead of angry New Yorkers pushing past you and telling
- 0:21you to go fuck yourself, everyone's smiling, leaving, and wishing you a wonderful day.
- 0:26Stop at your local coffee shop. Your barista tells you that your $9 latte is on the house.

- 0:36Get called into your boss's office? Congratulations, you're getting a raise,

- 1:33Rose-colored glasses. You can't fix your problems, but you can stop seeing them.
- 1:38Rose-colored glasses do not alter reality. Removing them may result in immediate
- 1:41financial distress, emotional devastation, and several miscourt dates.
- 1:46Remember, it's dummy.
- 1:49Demi Moore correcting her fans the other day when she was in New York City signing autographs.
- 1:53Insert theme song here. This is the Daily Sourcast. I give you the news and maybe a laugh.
- 1:58I'm Lindsay Wernick and today is November 3rd, 2026.
- 2:02Happy Election Day.
- 2:04Stay tuned because I will talk more about that in a second.
- 2:08So in real news, this guy from England finally made it home after spending 28
- 2:15years walking around the world. I'm not kidding.
- 2:18This guy Carl started his journey in Chile in 1998 when he was 29 years old,
- 2:24and he just decided he's going to walk all the way home to England without using
- 2:27planes or any other transportation.
- 2:30He thought it would take five years, and it turns out that it took 28.
- 2:35So he walked 31,000 miles, he crossed a frozen strait, swam across the Caspian
- 2:41Sea and the English Channel and navigated everything from visa issues to a global pandemic.
- 2:47Kind of sounds like the real-life version of the Odyssey.
- 2:50He finally got home to England yesterday, where he saw his mom who he hasn't seen in 10 years.
- 2:55And now, after almost three decades of traveling the world, he's moving into his mom's basement.
- 3:01I think in the Odyssey he reunited with his gorgeous wife, so maybe this is
- 3:06just the modern day version of that.
- 3:09So today is election day. So everyone in the United States is hopefully heading
- 3:13to the polls for the 2026 midterms.
- 3:16And if you're like, okay, what are the midterms? Don't worry.
- 3:20I'm going to explain it to you because we're all supposed to know this, right?
- 3:24So basically, the midterms happen about halfway through the president's four-year
- 3:28term. So unfortunately, we're not voting for our new president,
- 3:32and Trump is still our president regardless of whatever happens today. Lucky us.
- 3:37What we're voting for is control of Congress. So all 435 seats in the House
- 3:43of Representatives are up for grabs, along with 35 Senate seats.
- 3:48We're also electing governors in 36 states, plus a bunch of state and local
- 3:53officials. So you have to check exactly who you are voting for in your state and city.
- 3:58So here in New York, we are voting for governor, attorney general,
- 4:02state controller, and our representatives and other positions.
- 4:06It's like going to be a long ballot.
- 4:09So why does this matter, right? So right now, the Republicans control both the House and the Senate.
- 4:14And if Democrats take control of either one, they could block parts of Trump's
- 4:19agenda and launch investigations into his administration.
- 4:23I mean, we already know that when you look into stuff that he does,
- 4:26it doesn't go very far, but I guess it's better than us not looking into it
- 4:29at all. I don't know. I guess it sounds nice, too.
- 4:32But if Republicans keep control of both, they'll have more power to continue
- 4:37passing his policies, and it's just going to be the same old shit that we've
- 4:41been dealing with the past two years.
- 4:43So right now, it seems that the biggest concern in our country is the cost of
- 4:47living, immigration, and the economy.
- 4:50All really big issues.
- 4:52So already more than 43 million Americans had already voted early as of five
- 4:58days before the election.
- 4:59That's almost 10 million more people who voted in the 2022 midterms.
- 5:05So basically, we're deciding who gets to make the rules, who gets to stop the
- 5:08rules, and who gets to spend the next two years blaming the other party when nothing gets done.
- 5:13We're not changing the president. We're deciding how difficult we're going to
- 5:16make his job for the next two years. It's basically a pretty elaborate performance
- 5:19review of our government.
- 5:21So please make sure that you go out and vote today.
- 5:23This one's really sad, and you probably already heard about it, but maybe a few didn't.
- 5:28Nine people were killed on Sunday
- 5:30after a private jet crashed into a neighborhood in Palm Beach County.
- 5:34The jet was going from Austin, Texas to the Bahamas, and the pilots started
- 5:39hitting some ice and turbulence around 35,000 feet,
- 5:42and then they asked if they could go up to 37,000 feet, and right after they
- 5:47were told that they could, the plane started losing altitude super, super fast.
- 5:52The pilots called for mayday super quickly, but the plane was going downhill like crazy fast.
- 5:59And within minutes, they crashed into a residential area and exploded into a huge fireball.
- 6:06Of course, all nine people were killed, including seven passengers and two crew members.
- 6:11Among the victims were Austin-based technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson,
- 6:17his wife Helen Sharp, and their two little babies, four-year-old Emma and two-year-old
- 6:22Charlie, just so upsetting.
- 6:24Also killed were the family's nanny and two family friends.
- 6:28One of the pilots was a 20-year-old girl, and she got her license at just 17
- 6:33years old through this high school aviation program.
- 6:36She literally learned how to fly a plane before she learned how to drive.
- 6:40This crash made hundreds of people who lived nearby to evacuate because debris
- 6:44was, like, all over the place.
- 6:47And now federal investigators say there's preliminary evidence that the plane
- 6:51might have actually started breaking apart before it hit the ground.
- 6:55They think that the weather was a huge thing that had to do with this because
- 7:00of the ice and the turbulence, but it's still too early to determine what actually caused the crash.
- 7:05In Lindsay life. So this weekend I actually auditioned for a sketch comedy show and I was so nervous.
- 7:13My mom says like talking about the stuff jinxes it but like whatever at this
- 7:17point like it is what it is. I'm sure they already made up their mind if I made the team or not.
- 7:21Anyway so I walk into the room for the audition with people and there's a whole
- 7:25panel of judges like sitting in the audience in a row
- 7:31and obviously like I knew that was going to be happening at some level,
- 7:35you know, like, you know, that you're going to be like, who else are you auditioning for?
- 7:39But what made me really nervous was the fact that they had their laptops open.
- 7:42Like they all had a laptop open and they were like sitting in front of it,
- 7:46like typing away. I'm sure that they were probably just texting each other or
- 7:50like texting their mom or whatever, because I've been on that side of the table too.
- 7:55But it still made me a lot more nervous.
- 7:59So stay tuned on that. And if I don't say anything, I didn't make it.
- 8:03And if I did make it, I might say something. because the team also doesn't even
- 8:08start performing until like next year or something.
- 8:11Lindsay Lessons, a lesson by Linz. Life is a lot like learning how to ride a bike.
- 8:16At first, your parents are running behind you, holding onto the back of your
- 8:19seat, pushing you along, and you're terrified because you don't want them to let go, right?
- 8:24But then eventually you realize that you're riding the bike all by yourself.
- 8:27They let go at some point and you didn't even notice.
- 8:30And that's kind of what I think growing up is.
- 8:33Except now you're 31, you've fallen off the bike, a lot. You've got a lot of cuts and bruises.
- 8:38You have no idea where you're going and you're calling your parents asking if
- 8:42they can come hold the seat again.
- 8:44Cooking tip of the day. Reheat your tortilla chips in the air fryer.
- 8:49See back comments, questions, a nice Jewish boy looking for a date.
- 8:52Email me at lindsay at thedailysarcos.com. Thank you so much for listening and
- 8:56I'll talk to you guys tomorrow.
