- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to she Risers, Freety Friday, Go Secrets, Horror Scandal.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hysterio, smile. Oh, today's story is chilling off my worst
- 0:23Speaker 1: nightmas Niggers bumps. Let's just get straight into the story.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Thank you for sending in your anonymous sbmission. And remember
- 0:30Speaker 1: we don't know who's winning any of these in but
- 0:31Speaker 1: this one is a little bit creepy. Okay. A few
- 0:35Speaker 1: years ago, I was out with a male friend of
- 0:37Speaker 1: mine and he was drinking. I was a designated driver,
- 0:40Speaker 1: so I was sober. We were both partying and having fun.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Two men approached us and asked if we would like
- 0:46Speaker 1: to continue drinking at their place. My alarm bells went
- 0:50Speaker 1: off and I said no thanks. My drunk male friend
- 0:53Speaker 1: was all for it and talked me into going against
- 0:56Speaker 1: my better judgment. We got into the car and started driving.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I was in the back and my friend was in
- 1:01Speaker 1: the front. We arrived at the front of the house,
- 1:03Speaker 1: which was an apartment complex. My drunk friend got out
- 1:07Speaker 1: of the car. I went to get out two but
- 1:09Speaker 1: the door was locked. They drove off with me locked
- 1:13Speaker 1: in the back seat and my friend was left on
- 1:15Speaker 1: the side of the road. How fucking scary. Oh my god. No,
- 1:21Speaker 1: they started talking to each other in another language. Oh
- 1:24Speaker 1: shut up. Can you imagine even knowing what they're saying,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and that what they're planning. Oh, and I began to
- 1:29Speaker 1: assume the worst. I didn't know where I was or
- 1:32Speaker 1: where I was going. I had my phone in my
- 1:34Speaker 1: bag next to me, but I didn't want to reach
- 1:36Speaker 1: for it. There was two of them, and I was
- 1:38Speaker 1: locked in a car, so I couldn't fight my way out.
- 1:41Speaker 1: The only thing left to do was talk my way
- 1:44Speaker 1: out of it. So I said to them, I'm so
- 1:46Speaker 1: glad you got rid of my friend. I really wanted
- 1:48Speaker 1: to have a party with just the three of us.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Let's go back to your place and have some fun. Oh,
- 1:54Speaker 1: they believe me. And they pulled up at another house.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The car stopped and I heard the door clicked. I
- 2:00Speaker 1: opened the door and I ran for my life. I'll
- 2:03Speaker 1: always listen to my gut now and I no longer
- 2:05Speaker 1: speak to my drunk friend. Stay safe out there, girls.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Oh my god, I have chills.
- 2:11Speaker 1: She is so smart. You, Oh my god, babe, thank
- 2:14Speaker 1: you so much for putting this in. You were so smart.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But I'd be able to have done that to be.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Able to think on your feet like that. Fucking well done.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I think I would have got out my phone and
- 2:21Speaker 1: called someone.
- 2:22Speaker 2: To think that, to know, but go, oh my god,
- 2:25Speaker 2: I don't want to reach for my phone. What would
- 2:26Speaker 2: happen if I reached for my phone.
- 2:28Speaker 1: She must be so regulated, because I feel like I
- 2:29Speaker 1: would be in I think I would actually go into
- 2:31Speaker 1: the freeze state. I think I would freeze and not
- 2:34Speaker 1: know what the fuck to do? You reckon.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I feel like in situations when there's like we're fearful,
- 2:39Speaker 2: scared or stuff like that, I feel like in the past,
- 2:40Speaker 2: you really stood up, like you're going to protect a
- 2:42Speaker 2: mode I've noticed.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, I thought that until last night and I froze
- 2:46Speaker 1: in our hotel room. So we were staying at the
- 2:49Speaker 1: Emporium in Brisbane, which is one of our favorite hotels.
- 2:51Speaker 1: We love it, love it, except the beds are really
- 2:53Speaker 1: soft and I'd never get a good sleep Anyways, three
- 2:56Speaker 1: o'clock we both literally sit up. We're dead asleep, sit
- 3:00Speaker 1: up because we heard someone trying to get into our room.
- 3:03Speaker 1: We had an electronic card. Someone would have tapped it
- 3:06Speaker 1: and heard that like that sound it makes when it
- 3:08Speaker 1: unlocks the door. Yeah, we both heard that, sat up.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I can't remember who said it one of us? Did
- 3:13Speaker 1: you hear that? Like yep? Tiana jumped out of bed,
- 3:16Speaker 1: went straight over, checked the lock, looked out the peep hole.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I stayed in bed. I froze, you completely froze. I
- 3:22Speaker 1: think normally I do go in to protect a mode,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I think normally I don't know. I suppose other
- 3:28Speaker 1: friends that stuff has happened. I do feel more protector,
- 3:31Speaker 1: a little bit more masculine, but yeah, protector. Yeah, but
- 3:34Speaker 1: I didn't last night, I think because you reacted so quickly. Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I then softened, not softened, but just freaked the fuck out. Yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 1: they put it. Yeah, even when you asked me to
- 3:42Speaker 1: get up to check the lock, I did it, but
- 3:43Speaker 1: I couldn't bring myself to look outside the peepe hole. Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I remember, because if someone was out there, would have
- 3:47Speaker 1: freaked out. So I don't know in that situation, maybe
- 3:52Speaker 1: you would. What do you think you would do in
- 3:54Speaker 1: that situation? In the car?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, in the car, I don't know what I would do,
- 3:58Speaker 2: but I think the intrusive thoughts would be so loud,
- 4:01Speaker 2: like just My mum has always warned me of stuff
- 4:04Speaker 2: like that. To be made me watch fucking Taken before
- 4:07Speaker 2: I went overseas for three months. Like he just wants
- 4:09Speaker 2: me to be aware of how things like that can
- 4:11Speaker 2: happen and how quickly they can happen, so to always
- 4:14Speaker 2: just be making sure that you're mindful of your surroundings
- 4:16Speaker 2: or me and listening to this story. Now, I'm like,
- 4:19Speaker 2: that's such a smart thing to do. Before hearing this story,
- 4:22Speaker 2: I don't think I would have thought to play along neither.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I think I would have just become terrified and like
- 4:28Speaker 2: tried to find a way to escape. But I don't
- 4:30Speaker 2: know if I would have been smart enough in that
- 4:31Speaker 2: moment to think of that. M Like, that's so smart,
- 4:34Speaker 2: you know. Would you call your phone? Would you text?
- 4:36Speaker 2: Would you?
- 4:37Speaker 1: And who would you call? Like? You probably your dad?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Would you? I'd probably call Steve? But like what if
- 4:42Speaker 1: they didn't answer? What if they're an hour away, they
- 4:45Speaker 1: can't help you?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:47Speaker 1: What would you call the police? They can track your location? Right?
- 4:50Speaker 2: See that's interesting because when I think about it, I'm like,
- 4:52Speaker 2: my first choice probably wouldn't be the police. It'd probably
- 4:54Speaker 2: be somebody I love. Yeah, and then they can sort
- 4:56Speaker 2: it out.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh no, I've seen on a movie
- 5:00Speaker 1: once too, and I was telling you about a show
- 5:02Speaker 1: I watched. Two so two stories here. One was a
- 5:04Speaker 1: show that I watched where couple got kidnapped in Peru.
- 5:07Speaker 1: This is a true story. Got held captive for sixty
- 5:10Speaker 1: two days or something and they all went to gang
- 5:13Speaker 1: rape her. And she said she had ovarian cancer and
- 5:17Speaker 1: couldn't have sex and they didn't touch her. Wow, And
- 5:20Speaker 1: they said her free. In a movie I remember, a
- 5:22Speaker 1: girl was about to get be sexually assaulted and she
- 5:24Speaker 1: said she had a really heavy period and they didn't
- 5:26Speaker 1: touch her. Wow. Yeah, wow, Oh that's crazy, Like maybe
- 5:31Speaker 1: I would try that.
- 5:32Speaker 2: When I heard this submission come through. You know what
- 5:34Speaker 2: I thought about, babe, Like how many times we're in
- 5:35Speaker 2: Brisbane and we get in and out of ubers, Like
- 5:39Speaker 2: when do we ever really check to make sure the
- 5:40Speaker 2: other person's fully out of the car?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't do it, you know what I mean?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Like we.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Can at the same time get out the same time.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's just like those split second moments you don't realize
- 5:50Speaker 2: something can happen.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's crazy. That is crazy.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It's interesting a story here for you as well. I
- 5:56Speaker 2: remember my mum showing me this one documentary around a
- 5:59Speaker 2: young woman who got like held captive in someone's basement
- 6:03Speaker 2: for years.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And what she did.
- 6:05Speaker 2: She actually claimed that she'd fallen in love with her
- 6:08Speaker 2: abductor and started to like act like she was enjoying
- 6:13Speaker 2: it because obviously he was raping her and like yeah,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and like you know, acting like she wanted to be
- 6:18Speaker 2: with him, and like because there were other women there.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I think there was multiple women, so it was like
- 6:23Speaker 2: she wanted to be like, I'm special, like pay attention
- 6:26Speaker 2: to me, that sort of thing. He started to let
- 6:27Speaker 2: her out from underneath the house.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And then she started to have a little bit more
- 6:31Speaker 2: freedom and stuff like that. And then one day she
- 6:33Speaker 2: just jumped out of a window and ran and like
- 6:35Speaker 2: freed herself, and then all the other women got freed
- 6:37Speaker 2: as well. Oh so smart you, but like right to
- 6:40Speaker 2: think of that in that moment is fucking crazy when
- 6:43Speaker 2: you're in fight or flight.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I suppose you just don't know when adrenaline is
- 6:46Speaker 1: running through you what you do. I think when I
- 6:50Speaker 1: around my children, I would definitely step up and do anything.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I have so many intrusive thoughts of someone's
- 6:55Speaker 1: to come into my house. I would literally offer my body.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I would offer them whatever they wanted, as long as
- 6:59Speaker 1: they don't touch my children. But yeah, I think because
- 7:02Speaker 1: you last night, because you got up so quick, then
- 7:04Speaker 1: would into freeze. If you had frozen, I think I
- 7:07Speaker 1: would have stepped up there. Oh, so scary like this
- 7:10Speaker 1: to make me think of Bali. Whenever I go to Bali,
- 7:12Speaker 1: there's always security outside my villas, which makes it feel
- 7:15Speaker 1: really safe. Because I've heard women not feeling safe in Bali.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But I feel so safe over there, and I shouldn't
- 7:20Speaker 1: be naive, but yeah, everywhere I stay, there's always security
- 7:23Speaker 1: out the front. There's a big gate at the front
- 7:25Speaker 1: of your villa, and then there's door locks inside your
- 7:27Speaker 1: actual ram. I always feel really good in Bali. But
- 7:29Speaker 1: maybe we should I don't know. Take some There's little
- 7:32Speaker 1: devices that I've I've sent you on Instagram this morning.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It's a device you can get to put on your
- 7:36Speaker 1: door and so it's an alarm if someone tries to
- 7:37Speaker 1: get in. Yeah, maybe we should buy some. Yeah, just
- 7:39Speaker 1: to be a little bit more careful. And we don't drink,
- 7:41Speaker 1: so it's great. We're not going to put ourselves scary situations.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But just never to split out, which I don't think
- 7:46Speaker 1: we would it anyway.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think something that has come up for me in Bali,
- 7:49Speaker 2: Like I felt pretty safe in Bali, but I've also
- 7:52Speaker 2: only ever stayed in Novilla once before. But for me,
- 7:55Speaker 2: something about like the retaining walls are great. Yeah that
- 7:58Speaker 2: I'm like, it's open air above the retaining wall. I
- 8:00Speaker 2: don't know why that made me nervous. And then I
- 8:02Speaker 2: think sometimes I'm like, oh, when we're all on separate bikes,
- 8:04Speaker 2: we've got to trust that the people who are driving
- 8:06Speaker 2: us are taking us to the same place. Yes, I
- 8:08Speaker 2: think that's definitely.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Come up for me before. Yeah, but I was.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Young then as well, so I was probably like seventeen
- 8:13Speaker 2: eighteen in Bali and had that thought.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It's a true thing. I have a lot of trust
- 8:17Speaker 1: in the Ballets. I never feel unsafe getting on a scooter. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I know that's naive of me, but I do have
- 8:22Speaker 1: a lot of faith in the people. I don't know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 8:24Speaker 2: They are good people though for the most part.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The most part, Yeah, ever had really beautiful experiences, and
- 8:31Speaker 1: I've been going there since I was fifteen. Yeah, I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: thirty six. Ibow probably those fifteen times now, yeah, I've
- 8:36Speaker 1: never had you know what, actually had a one taxi
- 8:38Speaker 1: driver who wanted more money and I was with my
- 8:41Speaker 1: mum around my mum, I'm very protective, and she was
- 8:43Speaker 1: getting quite scared and I was arguing back because he
- 8:46Speaker 1: just wanted more money. And then he locked the doors. Yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and I like raised my voice and I was like,
- 8:50Speaker 1: ah ah, I think I leant over unlocked as I
- 8:53Speaker 1: was like, get out, mum. She got out. Yeah, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then I jumped out and he knew who he was,
- 8:57Speaker 1: so I just went straight. It was the security and
- 8:58Speaker 1: I pointed yeah, took a photo of his on a
- 9:00Speaker 1: plate and he sped off. Yeah. But now we've had
- 9:04Speaker 1: good experiences.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, oh goodness me, this is crazy. Thank you so
- 9:08Speaker 2: much for sharing this.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yession. Say safe no matter where you are, they say
- 9:11Speaker 1: feet streets safe. Yeah, look at your surrounding. Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I always pay attention to where you are, where you're at,
- 9:16Speaker 2: make sure you're not doing anything or going anywhere that
- 9:18Speaker 2: might put you in danger.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And girls do not accept drinks off other guys please. Yeah, like,
- 9:22Speaker 1: oh when my friends do that, I'm like, I will
- 9:24Speaker 1: pay for you. I used to be younger and go
- 9:25Speaker 1: out parting or took a couple of girlfriends to Vegas
- 9:28Speaker 1: one year and they just want to free drinks off guys.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I was like, I will pay for you. I don't
- 9:31Speaker 1: want you risking that, Like it's not worth it to me,
- 9:33Speaker 1: not worth it, no way.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Have you seen those views of how easy it is
- 9:36Speaker 2: for someone to spike your drink easy the day and
- 9:38Speaker 2: how it's common.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no, thank you, no, thank you.
- 9:41Speaker 2: No, I'm so glad I don't drink Oh say that, yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 2: thank you.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I'll be drinking bottled water. Thanks, yes, with sparkling water
- 9:48Speaker 1: with a fresh piece of lime, not your line. Thank
- 9:53Speaker 1: you for joining us, guys, We'll see you on Monday.
