- 0:00Speaker 1: She's on the Money. She's on the Money. Hello, and
- 0:14Speaker 1: welcome to She's on the Money, the podcast for millennials
- 0:17Speaker 1: who want financial freedom. Welcome to one of our Friday
- 0:21Speaker 1: Drinks episodes where we celebrate the money wins from our
- 0:24Speaker 1: She's on the Money community. Because there are so many
- 0:27Speaker 1: great money wins and confessions shared every single week in
- 0:30Speaker 1: our group, and we spend a very big part of
- 0:32Speaker 1: our day during the day in the office actually talking
- 0:35Speaker 1: about these wins, and this is the time to bring
- 0:37Speaker 1: it to life. So let's jump straight into it. Georgia King,
- 0:42Speaker 1: what was this week's deep dive.
- 0:43Speaker 2: On Vicki d This week we spoke about getting scammed
- 0:47Speaker 2: and how to avoid getting scammed. Most importantly, it was
- 0:50Speaker 2: a big chat.
- 0:51Speaker 1: It was a good chat. It was a big chat,
- 0:53Speaker 1: a bit of a heated chat. We never hated chat nice.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Last year For anyone who's missed the show, last year,
- 1:00Speaker 2: one hundred and seventy six million dollars was lost to scam.
- 1:03Speaker 2: So this is a massive issue.
- 1:05Speaker 1: That's a lot of money.
- 1:07Speaker 3: So one of the money wins we're going to get
- 1:09Speaker 3: through from Alice soon. Her win is real, but it
- 1:11Speaker 3: looked like a scam. It's like the opposite. Oh really yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 3: and you'll know when I get to it. But I
- 1:16Speaker 3: would not have taken the money win that Alice got
- 1:18Speaker 3: because it looked scamy.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah, well they're everywhere. They take all different cards of forms,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and I think the moral of the story was like, no,
- 1:27Speaker 2: one's just s not to get scammed, all.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Right, So Ryan, this week, our money diarist actually shared
- 1:32Speaker 1: a really special story with us.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Special but would you say infuriating?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it really annoyed me, but at the
- 1:39Speaker 1: same time like really powerful.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 3: It was about a young lady who has chronic pain,
- 1:44Speaker 3: which is bad enough, but I think the fact that
- 1:46Speaker 3: her employer didn't really seem to get it or be
- 1:50Speaker 3: overly helpful. And I know that when we stopped recording,
- 1:53Speaker 3: Victoria and I got real angry and we got real
- 1:55Speaker 3: deep into it with our money Tyrus, and I think
- 1:58Speaker 3: a lot of people, and Jess, you've been in the
- 1:59Speaker 3: commut a lot of response to that, and a lot
- 2:02Speaker 3: of people are in sort of I mean, all chronic
- 2:03Speaker 3: pain stories are different, but a lot of people in
- 2:05Speaker 3: a similar boat, right, A lot of.
- 2:07Speaker 5: People suffering silently, which I think it was really nice
- 2:09Speaker 5: for us to kind of get that feedback and get
- 2:11Speaker 5: to talk to people and have people say wow, like
- 2:13Speaker 5: nobody talks about this, it's such a big thing. I
- 2:16Speaker 5: didn't realize how many people in our community would relate
- 2:19Speaker 5: to that money story, so it was really nice to
- 2:21Speaker 5: hear that people were kind of resonating and they've been
- 2:23Speaker 5: sharing links to different groups and communities and it's just
- 2:26Speaker 5: been amazing.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Well, I actually think we mentioned that once because she
- 2:29Speaker 3: said I don't know anyone else in my situation. I
- 2:31Speaker 3: was like, surely there's Facebook groups and there's other people
- 2:34Speaker 3: who are the same, and we've probably got eighty emails
- 2:36Speaker 3: from other chronic pain suffers. So I was like, even
- 2:38Speaker 3: if we can just pull together together because, as we
- 2:42Speaker 3: all know, having people with you know, shared problems, you
- 2:45Speaker 3: can share advice and support and stuff like that.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So yeah, and you and I during that episode got
- 2:49Speaker 1: really frustrated, and we even ended up taking that conversation
- 2:52Speaker 1: offline with our money darist after to just be like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: is there any way we can help and what can
- 2:56Speaker 1: we do? And Ryan, I have an update for you. Really,
- 2:59Speaker 1: She handed in her resignation and quiz and she said
- 3:03Speaker 1: she did it because she had a conversation with us
- 3:05Speaker 1: and said, yeah, I actually need to find an employer
- 3:07Speaker 1: who sees the value in me, and I see the
- 3:09Speaker 1: value in and I just don't want to be associated anymore.
- 3:12Speaker 1: So she's slid into my DMS on Tuesday to let
- 3:14Speaker 1: me know the good news. But she's looking for a
- 3:16Speaker 1: new role now, and I just think that that's you know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: that's a really hard decision to make, and so I'm
- 3:21Speaker 1: really celebrating that this week.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Well, I think she that decision itself was driving her
- 3:25Speaker 3: mad because she kind of knew that she had to go.
- 3:28Speaker 3: But you know, it's so easy for anyone else to
- 3:30Speaker 3: be like, oh, just leave then, but to actually have
- 3:33Speaker 3: a think about it, do the numbers, get yourself set up,
- 3:35Speaker 3: and make that decision.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So I'm really proud of her, and I lack
- 3:38Speaker 1: that we got a little bit of a money diary
- 3:40Speaker 1: follow up, especially so close to their bood diary.
- 3:43Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 3:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:44Speaker 5: And to that end, someone in the community Izzy thank you,
- 3:48Speaker 5: said that Medicare actually offers a plan for chronic disease management.
- 3:52Speaker 5: So for all of those people in our community who
- 3:54Speaker 5: were saying they were also suffering, it might be something
- 3:56Speaker 5: worth looking into to see if they can help you out.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 3:59Speaker 1: That's really power full as well, because sometimes you just
- 4:01Speaker 1: don't know what you can have access to or not, and.
- 4:03Speaker 5: You just I would not have known that existed. I
- 4:06Speaker 5: slid into our DMS.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Absolutely, thank you is he But I think it's now
- 4:09Speaker 1: time to slide right on in to the Community Wins
- 4:12Speaker 1: of the Week with Ryan John.
- 4:14Speaker 4: All right, Tony Lodge is in the room as well.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Hey, Tony, I think you're going to froth this money
- 4:17Speaker 3: when as well it's by Nicole Saunders kind of Actually,
- 4:20Speaker 3: how much do you think a Smeg oven is? You
- 4:23Speaker 3: know there's real boogie ones.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh, there's Spino. Do you know why I know they're
- 4:26Speaker 1: Speno because no, no, we're looking at the wrong person
- 4:31Speaker 1: in the room who actually owns a spare oven.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Ryan, I forgot about that because and wait for it,
- 4:39Speaker 3: one of his investments. I don't actually live in that
- 4:43Speaker 3: property problems Anyway, we can we all agree that the
- 4:51Speaker 3: Smeg appliance is as a whole of fancy as very sure.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm in the market for a new toaster. I
- 4:56Speaker 1: did not realize that a toaster could be more than
- 4:59Speaker 1: one hundred dollars alone. Two hundred and nineteen. What the hell.
- 5:02Speaker 7: I would just like to let you win on a
- 5:03Speaker 7: little secret. There is a smeg dupe at Kmar exactly
- 5:07Speaker 7: the same forty dollars.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Nicole said they normally cost her an oven over three
- 5:16Speaker 3: thousand dollars.
- 5:17Speaker 4: I got mine for nine hundred and fifty. Wow, that's
- 5:22Speaker 4: the thing.
- 5:22Speaker 3: She kind of just dropped that comment and ghosted, And
- 5:24Speaker 3: I'm like, oh wow, I want answers, I want websites,
- 5:27Speaker 3: I want links.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I need details. Nicole, don't let me hanging.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm going to do it with some insight.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I bet she was a marketplace win I bet you
- 5:33Speaker 5: she manifested it.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Really, you reckon.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Everybody manifests everything in the marketplace.
- 5:39Speaker 6: It's a thing.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Well, here's the one I mentioned before about scams. Alice says,
- 5:44Speaker 3: I got an email out of the blue from my
- 5:47Speaker 3: university saying I'd won a thousand dollars.
- 5:49Speaker 6: Sure, yeah, scam right sticks to the scam.
- 5:52Speaker 4: She goes.
- 5:53Speaker 3: I thought it was sas, but I followed up it
- 5:54Speaker 3: was true. I got one thousand dollars from my union
- 5:56Speaker 3: and I used it to buy an iPad for my studies.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And like I said, I would just never click on that.
- 6:03Speaker 1: No, true.
- 6:03Speaker 5: She obviously did the right thing and like checked into
- 6:05Speaker 5: it though. Check the email. That's my top tip. Check
- 6:08Speaker 5: the email that your email comes from, because no matter
- 6:10Speaker 5: how legit it looks, if it comes from XYZ one
- 6:13Speaker 5: two seven ninety four Pubs, Knowledgey.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Amazon Australia document true.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And this leads onto a money win or loss that
- 6:21Speaker 1: I actually had a couple of years ago, way back
- 6:23Speaker 1: when I used to have a personal loan. Obviously bad
- 6:26Speaker 1: decision for me. We've learned, we've lived, we've moved on.
- 6:30Speaker 1: But there was a class action about the insurance on it,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and I ended up making about three thousand dollars back
- 6:35Speaker 1: on that, which was a crazy money win, right, But
- 6:37Speaker 1: turns out my partner and I are two peas in
- 6:39Speaker 1: a pod. He also had a personal loan at some
- 6:42Speaker 1: point and he thought it was a scam, and he
- 6:44Speaker 1: had his loan longer than me, so he would have
- 6:46Speaker 1: made way more than that, but because he didn't join
- 6:49Speaker 1: in on the class action, he never got it. And
- 6:51Speaker 1: then he was like, oh, I thought it was fake.
- 6:53Speaker 7: He could have brought a smeg oven all right.
- 6:57Speaker 3: And Natasha said, there was an event at work was
- 7:00Speaker 3: sponsored by Pancake Parlor who brought in these boxes of
- 7:03Speaker 3: pancake micks. I stole thirty two dollars worth of pancake
- 7:06Speaker 3: mix and had the greatest week.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Of my life.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I love it. She's like, and I had the greatest
- 7:11Speaker 1: week of my life, like we know you did.
- 7:14Speaker 6: I love pancake Parlo.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It's so so I don't think I've ever been I
- 7:18Speaker 1: love I love bankcakes.
- 7:21Speaker 8: Du't for pancake ball. I used to actually sing on
- 7:25Speaker 8: their ads.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 8: I was their voice of artist for a while.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because you can sing sing, can't you.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:33Speaker 7: Well well people say, but yes, yeah, and I was there.
- 7:36Speaker 7: I did their ads for a while.
- 7:38Speaker 1: What did you get Tony to do our new intro?
- 7:42Speaker 4: What did you sing like? Was it a big opera song?
- 7:46Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 7:47Speaker 7: It was just a cheesy jingle. So every season their
- 7:50Speaker 7: jingle change from I like pancakes, you know you love pancakes,
- 7:54Speaker 7: to like, God, it's freezing forget about working, pancake.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Thanks, I actually didn't believe you.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Jess's face just went.
- 8:11Speaker 8: No, she's legit.
- 8:14Speaker 4: That's so good.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Just letting you guys know one of the world's greatest
- 8:16Speaker 3: puns is coming in the next few minutes.
- 8:17Speaker 4: You'll hear it when it's there.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Hey, Bianka says, I use that She's on the Money
- 8:21Speaker 3: script to negotiate on our mortgage rate.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yes, I put so much effort into that script us jairs.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's true, absolutely, And the script isn't just for mortgages,
- 8:30Speaker 3: right am I right?
- 8:30Speaker 4: And saying phone.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Bills literally everything. It's about just asking for a better
- 8:34Speaker 1: rate and being able to have a little bit of conviction,
- 8:36Speaker 1: because sometimes you just feel like a bit lost, especially
- 8:40Speaker 1: when someone says, yeah, Tony, no, I can't do that. Okay,
- 8:43Speaker 1: no problems. That's so funny. If you can't do that,
- 8:45Speaker 1: can I speak to somebody who can? And they're always like, oh,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I wouldn't do that, But I've given you the script,
- 8:51Speaker 1: so you just read it and you feel like a
- 8:52Speaker 1: bit of a baller.
- 8:53Speaker 8: Where can I find the script?
- 8:54Speaker 1: You can find it for free download on our website.
- 8:57Speaker 3: She's on the Money dot com au is now paying
- 9:00Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty dollars less every week everywhere. Nument's
- 9:04Speaker 3: one hundred and fifty dollars a week on her mortgage
- 9:06Speaker 3: less because of the negotiation. She said, instead of keeping
- 9:10Speaker 3: we did that.
- 9:11Speaker 4: We did that. Well, we did that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I mean she did that, but like we're a part
- 9:15Speaker 1: of it. Take you on at it, take it out.
- 9:19Speaker 3: The anchor actually said, instead of taking one hundred and fifty,
- 9:22Speaker 3: she's keeping it in there, so she's paying off her
- 9:23Speaker 3: loan even faster.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And Breain yes, And there are some really cool calculators online.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm sure we can link one in the group this
- 9:29Speaker 1: week of just how much additional repayments could be. And
- 9:32Speaker 1: I think a lot of people they're often like, oh,
- 9:34Speaker 1: I really want to save money or my mortgage so
- 9:36Speaker 1: you know, save money each week, and it's like, no,
- 9:39Speaker 1: pay what you're originally paying a nucle paid off like
- 9:41Speaker 1: ten years earlier. That's crazy, that's so good.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I can't keep a straight face and do the pun.
- 9:46Speaker 1: All right, we're ready, you've got this. We believe in you.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I actually can't. I cried laughing trying to explain it
- 9:51Speaker 3: to someone. And it's not that.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Funny, all right, nobody take a sip of drink because
- 9:54Speaker 1: we are going to laugh at right.
- 9:56Speaker 3: No, it's so embarrassing now, Annabelle pardoh and Pardo me
- 10:00Speaker 3: if I pronounced that wrong.
- 10:03Speaker 4: We were that's what.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You came to the show with.
- 10:05Speaker 6: It was good.
- 10:07Speaker 8: Is the pun still six out of ten, that's what
- 10:09Speaker 8: she said.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's a six out of ten. But also, can we
- 10:12Speaker 1: just talk about the lead up to that pun Like
- 10:15Speaker 1: we got to the studio, he's been talking about it
- 10:17Speaker 1: since we arrived, about how good it's going to be,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and that's what it was.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Found four flat after.
- 10:22Speaker 3: That, Annabel Pardeau says, we delivered, we got delivered the
- 10:26Speaker 3: totally wrong grocery order.
- 10:28Speaker 8: You're right, man, spit it out.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Get to the point.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Well, we were delivered the totally wrong grocery order. They
- 10:38Speaker 3: then delivered the correct order the following day and we
- 10:41Speaker 3: got double grocery.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Well done, pard.
- 10:44Speaker 6: That's a win.
- 10:44Speaker 8: That's good.
- 10:45Speaker 1: That's a win.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And not Elizabeth, not Liz, but Elizabeth is her name,
- 10:52Speaker 3: she says, hopefully soon to be money win. I'm the
- 10:55Speaker 3: co owner of a food business and we're in the
- 10:57Speaker 3: process of upscaling our kitchen. And could you imagine the
- 11:00Speaker 3: of the equipment and.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Commercial treachments so much more than the smeg oven that
- 11:04Speaker 1: you would.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Not normally really expensive. And just as we were about
- 11:08Speaker 3: to invest and buy all this stuff, we found a huge,
- 11:11Speaker 3: double doored fridge on the side of the road.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Literally, like talk about manifest seeing.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Mat place those to me a symbol of wealth, like
- 11:22Speaker 5: I'm going to feel like I've made it when I
- 11:24Speaker 5: have a double door for it.
- 11:25Speaker 4: But this is like the rich.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Rich kids had. I used to see it as the ice.
- 11:29Speaker 8: With the ice in the fridge with the ice plumbed in.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's boogie.
- 11:35Speaker 4: She said.
- 11:35Speaker 3: She knocked on the door because it was out in
- 11:37Speaker 3: the front of someone's house and said, hey, I'm about
- 11:38Speaker 3: to take that fridge.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Is that fine? Didn't want to do.
- 11:40Speaker 1: The wrong halfway through moving house and you've just put
- 11:43Speaker 1: it thief.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Hey, it's perfectly fine, probably just needs a service. And
- 11:48Speaker 3: she went great and took it, and it's currently getting
- 11:51Speaker 3: serviced now. Hence why it's the hopefully future money Winny
- 11:55Speaker 3: win fingers crossed Elizabeth, stopping me to Elizabeth's name.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Was that spelt with an s lis because that's like
- 12:03Speaker 5: a traditional spelling of the name.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Well, don't I just feel like an absolute hah?
- 12:14Speaker 1: All right, Well, we love the community and we love
- 12:17Speaker 1: their money wins. I arguably also like learning about my
- 12:19Speaker 1: own team's money wins. So how about we start with jessic.
- 12:23Speaker 5: RICI I have a money win that is a follow
- 12:26Speaker 5: up from a money loss from a few weeks ago.
- 12:28Speaker 6: We love to see it.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I also love that you're tracking this. You're like, this
- 12:31Speaker 1: is going to change, this is going to be wow,
- 12:33Speaker 1: something else.
- 12:34Speaker 5: You're as soon as you're here, you gonna know what
- 12:35Speaker 5: I'm talking about. So a few weeks ago, I parked
- 12:37Speaker 5: at a Wilson's car park, pre paid my parking, and
- 12:41Speaker 5: then when I came out, tapped my card. It's meant
- 12:44Speaker 5: to just let you out, and it charged me an
- 12:46Speaker 5: extra thirty bucks. I paid like almost sixty dollars for
- 12:48Speaker 5: parking that day with my pre booking and the extra
- 12:51Speaker 5: Are you.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Picking this money win slash loss to just trigger me
- 12:55Speaker 1: knowing my experience. I was parking this week.
- 12:58Speaker 5: That was probably three or four weeks ago, and today
- 13:00Speaker 5: I finally got the email after registering my complaint that
- 13:04Speaker 5: the money has been refunded.
- 13:06Speaker 8: Nice, good job.
- 13:08Speaker 5: I was getting ready to go full Karen on them
- 13:10Speaker 5: and call them and be like where's my money, because
- 13:12Speaker 5: I like send them my thing, being like hey, like
- 13:14Speaker 5: I booked, like I've done everything right, something's wrong in
- 13:17Speaker 5: your system and you've charged me extra and that's not cool.
- 13:20Speaker 6: But it just took them forever. So that's my win.
- 13:22Speaker 6: What happened today with the parking.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Yesterday with the parking, Victoria Devine did go full Karen. Yeah,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's not my proudest moment. But also I was really
- 13:32Speaker 1: frustrated because the girl on the phone what is said?
- 13:37Speaker 1: She was so condescending and rude, and I was just
- 13:41Speaker 1: I was not having it. I'd had a really long
- 13:42Speaker 1: day and I was just like, no, you're not going
- 13:44Speaker 1: to do this, not today, Satan, not today. And so
- 13:47Speaker 1: what happened was I prepaid for parking and when I
- 13:50Speaker 1: went to tap my credit card out which had let
- 13:52Speaker 1: me into the.
- 13:53Speaker 6: Car park, it's the same car park.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's the same car park, just really bad for it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Tapped it said that it couldn't read just my data,
- 14:01Speaker 1: clicked the intercom. This has happened a million times before, unfortunately,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and every time I pick up, the people on their
- 14:06Speaker 1: phone are like, hey, sorry, it happens all the time.
- 14:08Speaker 1: What's your registration? And I tell them, they look me
- 14:10Speaker 1: up and they let me out great, like this is
- 14:16Speaker 1: not worth literally, so I did that and the guy
- 14:20Speaker 1: that I got onto was like, yep, you'll have to
- 14:21Speaker 1: pay the full rate again. And obviously that's like I
- 14:24Speaker 1: think eighty eight dollars for a day, and I was like, na,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm not paying it, like I pre booked. And they
- 14:28Speaker 1: were like, what's your booking reference? And I'm like, I'm
- 14:30Speaker 1: really sorry. Your car park is underground. I don't have reception.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I cannot get you the booking reference. I've just tried.
- 14:38Speaker 1: It's not loading. And they pretty much suggested that. I
- 14:40Speaker 1: got out of my car, went up the three stories,
- 14:42Speaker 1: got the booking reference, and then got reception, got back
- 14:45Speaker 1: in the car and got it for them. And I
- 14:47Speaker 1: was like, look every other time you've looked it up
- 14:49Speaker 1: by my number plate and all of this other stuff. Anyway,
- 14:51Speaker 1: back and forth and back and forth, and they charged
- 14:53Speaker 1: me again for me to go home because she said
- 14:55Speaker 1: she didn't believe essentially that I had booked parking for
- 14:58Speaker 1: me to go home and be able to then access
- 15:01Speaker 1: the receipt. So that was really fun.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Guys, that sounds awful.
- 15:04Speaker 7: Is anyone thinking we could make a lot of money
- 15:06Speaker 7: from buying a car park?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they musking, she's on the money cup park, like
- 15:15Speaker 1: my dog will be there.
- 15:16Speaker 3: But seriously, those buildings in the city, It's like, do
- 15:18Speaker 3: we spend ten million renovating these beautiful apartments or do
- 15:20Speaker 3: we just make the dankest, smelliest concrete block and just
- 15:23Speaker 3: charge people for they make bang on these.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Exactly and they all smell like we But you know
- 15:29Speaker 1: what I want to hear about. Georgia King's.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay, so this is a money win, I think, well,
- 15:39Speaker 2: I guess what I've realized is that over the journey
- 15:42Speaker 2: I have some money confessing to do so markets. So
- 15:46Speaker 2: people are always like, go to the market.
- 15:49Speaker 6: I love a market day.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I've written blogs about it.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, considerality, consider markets. It's a great
- 15:55Speaker 2: way to save a buck instead of going to the supermarket. Anyway.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I've always gone to the Paran Market or the South
- 16:01Speaker 2: Melbourne market, and I've never really understood how it's such
- 16:04Speaker 2: a money.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Win because.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I go to the market, I don't understand.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Jesus in dollar, I don't understand they're the most expensive suburbs.
- 16:16Speaker 1: So what is going on?
- 16:17Speaker 6: I was not aware of that.
- 16:19Speaker 1: In hindsight, it does make sense.
- 16:21Speaker 2: But I went to Queen vic On that is a
- 16:24Speaker 2: money in Hooly Dooley. I bought as much fruit as
- 16:30Speaker 2: I could, bloody carry was coming out of my ears
- 16:33Speaker 2: for the price of a slice of cheese from Paran
- 16:35Speaker 2: Market like fifteen dollars, and I bought a week's worth
- 16:38Speaker 2: of vege hood Queen, it is so good. I was
- 16:43Speaker 2: there with hearts.
- 16:43Speaker 6: We were like, this is a hemmen. I'm still so excited.
- 16:47Speaker 6: I'm going to go back this weekend.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I love that. Can you please update us via that
- 16:51Speaker 1: she's on the money Instagram stories. Give us a little
- 16:53Speaker 1: bit of a tool. I will show us how much
- 16:55Speaker 1: the beans cost. Like, we want that, we need, we
- 16:57Speaker 1: need this in our lives.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Rumors press in market cheaper than queen vixed. Yeah, don't
- 17:04Speaker 3: get the coffee from the guy at the front, go
- 17:06Speaker 3: at the back.
- 17:06Speaker 1: How we should do an entire blog post where we
- 17:09Speaker 1: all get together on the weekends, go to the market,
- 17:12Speaker 1: see how much we cannot spend money wein.
- 17:16Speaker 8: That just sounds like a nice day.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We should do that. Let's do that. We can hold
- 17:20Speaker 1: hands and get coffee and crystalt psyclonic crossants.
- 17:23Speaker 3: But that's not the point, Tony. What's your Are you
- 17:26Speaker 3: going to win or a confession?
- 17:27Speaker 8: I've got a win?
- 17:29Speaker 7: Yeah, well, I guess it's kind of a spending unnecessary money,
- 17:33Speaker 7: but also a win. There's been a pair of sneakers
- 17:36Speaker 7: that I've had my eye on for quite some time,
- 17:38Speaker 7: probably six months that I've I'm not wearing them.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Now to check her feet under the table.
- 17:49Speaker 7: And they're normally about two hundred dollars. So I really
- 17:52Speaker 7: agonized over them, and I was like, am I gonna
- 17:54Speaker 7: wear them enough? And I always boil all of my
- 17:57Speaker 7: clothing purchases down to a five dollars rule, so I
- 18:00Speaker 7: work out how much I would have to wear a
- 18:02Speaker 7: certain item for it to cost five dollars aware, and
- 18:05Speaker 7: if I think that I will do that, I buy
- 18:07Speaker 7: it and I'm happy to. But if I don't, if
- 18:10Speaker 7: I'm like, okay, that's three hundred dollars, I'm definitely not
- 18:12Speaker 7: going to wear that X amount of times for that
- 18:14Speaker 7: to make sense.
- 18:15Speaker 1: That's actually an epic rule. I really like that.
- 18:18Speaker 7: So I do that with every single thing that I buy,
- 18:20Speaker 7: and these sneakers were no exception. I was like, Oh,
- 18:22Speaker 7: I definitely wear them enough. But I finally was like,
- 18:25Speaker 7: you know what, I'm just going to buy them. I
- 18:27Speaker 7: really really want them. Went online and there are one
- 18:29Speaker 7: hundred and sixty instead of two money.
- 18:33Speaker 1: How good is that?
- 18:34Speaker 5: Eight less wins that ate less?
- 18:40Speaker 1: You tried you tried. I like it and you want
- 18:43Speaker 1: to have it take it from the top. Come on,
- 18:45Speaker 1: Jessica Ricci.
- 18:46Speaker 6: That is eight less wares that you need to Yes.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Yes, I love that for you, Ryan John, have you
- 18:55Speaker 1: got a money with a confession to share.
- 18:57Speaker 6: With the team.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Well, first, I have a question if.
- 19:00Speaker 1: This is confession time not question time.
- 19:03Speaker 3: If you found a my key on the train and
- 19:07Speaker 3: you looked around and there's no one else there.
- 19:10Speaker 6: No, no, I went to court for.
- 19:12Speaker 7: This confession time.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I kid you not.
- 19:19Speaker 6: She sat in the other room with me while I
- 19:22Speaker 6: went to.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Digital court to digital during the Hey, what what happens?
- 19:32Speaker 7: Is Digital just caught on zooming about the most chaotic
- 19:36Speaker 7: energy you've ever experienced.
- 19:43Speaker 6: We need to do Yes, absolutely, we are here. We
- 19:46Speaker 6: are waiting. I'm about to shoot you down. Sorry, Ryan.
- 19:49Speaker 5: I Jessica Ricky on the train.
- 19:55Speaker 8: This is her story.
- 20:02Speaker 6: So I caught the train in used.
- 20:04Speaker 4: My face, Victoria stopped looking at other people.
- 20:10Speaker 6: I gotta, I gotta, I got it.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I can do it right from the top. She needs
- 20:14Speaker 1: the music in the background.
- 20:17Speaker 5: So I caught the train in to the city one day,
- 20:22Speaker 5: touched on like a good Laura abiding citizen. I am forgetful.
- 20:26Speaker 5: We've discussed this before. Somehow I lost my Mikey on
- 20:30Speaker 5: the train, left it there, got all the way to
- 20:32Speaker 5: the barricades where you tap out, realized, went back to
- 20:36Speaker 5: the train, back to where I was, couldn't find it.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Someone's picked it up. So I go to exit.
- 20:41Speaker 8: It was ryan.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Go to exit.
- 20:46Speaker 5: There's ticket inspectors there that I tell them what happened.
- 20:48Speaker 5: They're like, yep, sure, no problem, just let us know.
- 20:52Speaker 6: We we'll send you a fine. Let us know, we'll
- 20:54Speaker 6: you know, they'll clear it.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Kind of thing came to, you know, got fine, told them,
- 20:59Speaker 5: sent them prove that I had topped up my Mikey
- 21:02Speaker 5: that morning. Was like, there's no way I'm topping up
- 21:04Speaker 5: my Mikey. And then fair of aiding. I'm kind of
- 21:07Speaker 5: pissed off that I've lost my Mikey with fifty dollars
- 21:09Speaker 5: on it, to be honest, and they still wanted to find.
- 21:12Speaker 6: Me like three hundred dollars.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So I was like, not today, and you took them
- 21:17Speaker 4: to digital court?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 5: They were like, you can either pay it or you
- 21:20Speaker 5: can go to court. And I was like, hell, yes,
- 21:21Speaker 5: I'll take you to court.
- 21:23Speaker 4: And so what happened in court.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Oh the lady was so nice. I explained the situation.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I'm like, I have proof, like here's my bank statement
- 21:29Speaker 5: and here's like four months worth of bank statements showing
- 21:31Speaker 5: that I top up like every week. And she was like, oh,
- 21:34Speaker 5: oh you're fine, like go right through.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Great.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Oh that's awesome money win. Yeah, that's a huge money win.
- 21:39Speaker 4: That's a huge money win.
- 21:40Speaker 5: And so no, fine, no fine. She was really nice,
- 21:43Speaker 5: really kind. She actually taught me that you can register
- 21:45Speaker 5: your mikey to yourself, which I didn't know, so if
- 21:47Speaker 5: you lose it, you can cancel it and transfer the money,
- 21:50Speaker 5: which is also a potential money win. After all of that, Ryan,
- 21:54Speaker 5: do you want to go ahead with your question?
- 21:56Speaker 4: Nope?
- 21:58Speaker 1: What was your money with.
- 22:01Speaker 4: Not important important? Yes?
- 22:06Speaker 3: And cheaper transport for the family, Laura. Yeah, someone found
- 22:12Speaker 3: someone else's my key interesting and has been using.
- 22:15Speaker 1: That Cryan, did you even try to return it?
- 22:21Speaker 3: Someone in my family who catches the train to work
- 22:23Speaker 3: every day? Yeah, which is not me.
- 22:27Speaker 4: The what do you got?
- 22:28Speaker 2: All?
- 22:29Speaker 5: Right?
- 22:29Speaker 4: So did you break any laws?
- 22:31Speaker 2: No?
- 22:31Speaker 1: I haven't, unfortunately usually I do. Sorry to report, but
- 22:35Speaker 1: you know what I do. Have you a money win table? Yes?
- 22:40Speaker 5: It means I'm pretty sure it's the first time since
- 22:44Speaker 5: I've started working here that it's been a full table
- 22:46Speaker 5: of money.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that's really rare, guys. It's like getting a rare
- 22:50Speaker 1: Pokemon card. Hardly ever happens, but it's very exciting when
- 22:53Speaker 1: it does.
- 22:54Speaker 6: Retro reference.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Yeah, we do want to hear about my money win.
- 22:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Also related to pets, like come on, yeah, so I
- 23:02Speaker 1: looked up how much it costs to do dog grooming
- 23:05Speaker 1: in my area because I've, as everybody knows, recently adopted Lucy.
- 23:10Speaker 1: It's really expensive, like really really expensive, like more than
- 23:15Speaker 1: one hundred dollars for whoa. Yeah, and like she's obviously
- 23:18Speaker 1: going to become a really big dog and she does
- 23:21Speaker 1: have a lot of dents for whatever. I get it.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I totally get it, because they need to wash her,
- 23:26Speaker 1: they need to dry her, they need to groom her,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and all of that other stuff.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Great, they're probably not using their diceon Yeah. On the
- 23:32Speaker 5: door efficient, I saw that on stories questionable.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I did use it, but you know it was much
- 23:37Speaker 1: more efficient. She dried four times quicker than any other
- 23:40Speaker 1: kind of dryer.
- 23:41Speaker 4: This does sound like an ad.
- 23:42Speaker 8: Now there's the credit.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Please send me an error.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Thanks for the dice and dog dryers.
- 23:48Speaker 1: The diceon dog dry which is responsored sadly. We're just
- 23:51Speaker 1: trying to like work towards it because everybody on my
- 23:53Speaker 1: team wants an air rap, and nobody on my team
- 23:56Speaker 1: wants to pay for the air rap, which seems like
- 23:58Speaker 1: a really great option. So if you would like to
- 24:03Speaker 1: give us air raps light into our DMS, we'll also
- 24:05Speaker 1: take any online appliance companies adore beauty we're watching. But
- 24:12Speaker 1: I groomed my own dog.
- 24:14Speaker 4: That's a win.
- 24:15Speaker 1: It's a win for me, but maybe a foe.
- 24:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I see you.
- 24:22Speaker 4: I hate that I don't have the best pun on
- 24:23Speaker 4: this episode.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Yes, but or Lucy during ISO, which makes it even
- 24:28Speaker 1: more of a money win. I didn't even have to
- 24:30Speaker 1: go and buy the hair trimming tools because I had
- 24:33Speaker 1: it from the time that I gave Steve a terrible
- 24:35Speaker 1: haircut in ISO, which you would have thought I would
- 24:38Speaker 1: have learned and then chosen not to cut my dog's fur.
- 24:41Speaker 1: But here we are. So she got a number eight
- 24:43Speaker 1: all over money win and she doesn't look that bad.
- 24:48Speaker 1: She still looks very similar to a.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Dog, all right, So everyone's a winner because we all
- 24:55Speaker 3: had money wins, but also who was responsible for these
- 24:57Speaker 3: drinks was Georgeorge s.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Tony, what do we got to hear? What have been
- 25:01Speaker 4: sipping on?
- 25:02Speaker 8: This is a bella Sanguria.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Sangria again not sponsored, but wish it was.
- 25:10Speaker 8: Spanish classic ossie made which is nice?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Isn't it a Spanish classic?
- 25:16Speaker 4: Reading the.
- 25:18Speaker 8: Vegan friendly thank you?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Thank god, I didn't realize there was meatria.
- 25:22Speaker 2: No.
- 25:23Speaker 1: But in wine production they often use rennet, which is
- 25:26Speaker 1: a cheese additive, not additive. It's like something you get
- 25:30Speaker 1: out of cheese, and they use it to produce wine.
- 25:32Speaker 8: Which like how's tummy or something which makes.
- 25:35Speaker 1: The wine not vegan.
- 25:36Speaker 3: The first time Tony and I ever got drunk together
- 25:38Speaker 3: was on Sangria.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Glorious reminisce over that.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Do we need to do a financial disclaimer for this episode.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we do it, but before we get there, we
- 25:47Speaker 1: would like to acknowledge and pay respect to Australia's Aboriginal
