- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. And I don't know if you've ever
- 0:42had a fear of animals, but many people have a fear of insects
- 0:47and in particular. Around summer.
- 0:50A fear of Wasps and I was working with a client that had a
- 0:55very intense fear of Wasps that was.
- 0:59Created in. Childhood when they saw other
- 1:02school kids running away from Wasps in a playground, and that
- 1:06put a seed of an idea in their head that Wasps are so dangerous
- 1:10you have to run away from them. The client was then a grown
- 1:14woman. She'd had this for many, many
- 1:15years. And really didn't.
- 1:17Like the idea of being anywhere close to a wasp.
- 1:21We made a lot of progress in just a a couple of sessions and
- 1:24this hypnosis session is to consolidate lots of the
- 1:28different principles that. We'd actually.
- 1:30Work together on mainly feeling calm and confident, but also a
- 1:34state of fascination around the idea of Wasps.
- 1:39So we create this idea of a picnic park where there's lots
- 1:42of Wasps. She gets to see the future
- 1:45version of her. Completely fine around Wasps and
- 1:48then stepping into that. So we've got disassociation of a
- 1:51resource state association into a resource state and then future
- 1:55pacing beyond that. So if you do have a fear of
- 2:00flying insects and in particular Wasps, I think you'll get some
- 2:03benefit from this session. Please be aware though that it
- 2:06was created for a specific client, therefore not all of the
- 2:09suggestions may be relevant for you.
- 2:12So if you like the idea of working with me directly, there
- 2:16will be a link in the description where you can either
- 2:17do a suitability test for hypnosis or you can actually
- 2:21book a free consultation call to.
- 2:22Exlore working. With me for now though, find a
- 2:26quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 2:29Relax. And enjoy the session.
- 2:51Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 2:58feeling of calm relaxation. And as you exhale, feel a
- 3:05wonderful sense of release, particularly around your
- 3:08eyelids, as if any tension, stress and worries are just
- 3:13melting away. Breathing in that relaxation and
- 3:22exhaling that tension. Each breath gets slightly deeper
- 3:28than the last, enabling you to feel a wonderful sense of
- 3:35letting go. That's in and just scan your
- 3:42body for any clues of any anxiety or tension.
- 3:49Sometimes tension can be around the jaw, the neck, and the
- 3:51shoulders. Or echoes of anxiety can be in
- 3:55the chest and the gut. But I want you to imagine
- 3:59breathing in a wonderful feeling of resourceful relaxation.
- 4:09And as you breathe in that relaxation, feel it melting away
- 4:13any anxiety and tension. And then imagine releasing that
- 4:19anxiety or tension in your outward breath.
- 4:24Each breath takes you more and more relaxed than the last.
- 4:32As you imagine what it would feel like to drift into a
- 4:38feeling of complete calm and confidence, just imagine you're
- 4:47eyelids getting heavier, the muscles around your jaw
- 4:52relaxing, neck and shoulders releasing.
- 4:57Imagine your arms and legs just feeling limp, loose and heavy.
- 5:05That's it. And as you allow yourself to
- 5:18really connect without feeling of relaxation, without any need
- 5:24to do it right, to just breathe in and breathe out,
- 5:30understanding that hypnosis is simply your natural ability to
- 5:35imagine and respond. And as you breathe deeply now, I
- 5:44wonder if you can imagine a calmness spreading through your
- 5:48body from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes,
- 5:56like a warm breeze or the gentle sunlight of a summer's day.
- 6:04Feel it soothing and relaxing you completely and just allow
- 6:16any sensations in your body to be noticed.
- 6:22And anytime you notice a sensation like your heartbeat, a
- 6:28twitch, a feeling, just acknowledge it and allow it to
- 6:35help you go deeper. Because the deeper you go, the
- 6:40calmer you feel, and the calmer you feel the deeper you go.
- 6:50It's almost like every breath is guiding you down.
- 6:55Down into that peaceful state of mind where imagination becomes
- 7:03reality and your subconscious mind can learn new and useful
- 7:11ways of responding. And in this peaceful state, I
- 7:19wonder if you could use the power of your imagination to
- 7:24imagine a beautiful park on a warm sunny day.
- 7:34I want you to imagine that you're there in that park, and
- 7:38perhaps you notice the scent of freshly cut grass, or the
- 7:44distant laughter of children playing the soft rustle of
- 7:50leaves in the trees. And as you walk through this
- 7:55park, you come across a picnic area with tables and benches,
- 8:04Maybe some people with a blanket lay down on the grass.
- 8:10And there, sitting at one of the picnic benches, is someone who
- 8:16looks very familiar. It's you.
- 8:23But it's a version of you that is calm, relaxed, and completely
- 8:29confident around Wasps. Because this is you, one year
- 8:35from now, a year of being completely calm and confident,
- 8:44sometimes fascinated but sometimes ambivalent.
- 8:49They're sitting comfortably, perhaps enjoying some food or
- 8:54drink, and they seem fascinated, intrigued by the little
- 9:02creatures of nature around them. Then you can just observe
- 9:10yourself. Notice how that version of you
- 9:15sits, how their body is relaxed and loose, and how they breathe
- 9:22slowly and deeply. And even if a wasp flies nearby,
- 9:30this version of you remains completely at ease.
- 9:36There's no panic, no tension, no need to move suddenly, just calm
- 9:46curiosity and just observe. Watch this version of you and
- 9:58you come to a conclusion. But for that version of you,
- 10:05Wasps are not a problem. They are simply creatures
- 10:10looking for food, a small part of nature doing what they do.
- 10:22This version of you thinks of Wasps as no different than
- 10:25butterflies or bees. Their body stays calm and
- 10:30steady, as if it naturally knows that they are safe.
- 10:40There's even a sense of fascination, noticing the
- 10:44stripes, the wings, the way the sunlight glints of their tiny
- 10:48bodies. In this version of you,
- 10:53curiosity has replaced fear and I want you to feel like a
- 11:02psychological spy as you can hear their thoughts as they sit
- 11:08there. Wasps are only interested in
- 11:14food, not me. They'll soon fly away again.
- 11:20It's fine. It's just a wasp doing its
- 11:24thing, and that version of you doesn't think a wasp will sting
- 11:32them, but they know. But if it did ever happen, it's
- 11:39not a disaster. Nobody likes stubbing their toe.
- 11:45Nobody likes having a cold. That version of you knows that
- 11:51it's just another undesirable thing that is manageable.
- 11:54You've had the experience of brushing a car against nettles
- 12:04and having that horrible sensation, but you recall how it
- 12:11was temporary, manageable, no big deal.
- 12:16And when you're convinced that that future version of you is
- 12:24completely relaxed and resourceful around Wasps, let me
- 12:29know by nodding. Your head.
- 12:32That's in. So now I want you to imagine
- 12:37walking closer to this calm, confident version of you.
- 12:41And as you do, you sense their energy, their composure, and
- 12:46their strength. And then when you're ready, you
- 12:52step right into them, merging into that calm, confident self.
- 13:02So now feel what it's like now from the inside to be calm and
- 13:09relaxed around Wasps. Notice your body staying loose,
- 13:16you're breathing slow and steady, and notice your inner
- 13:21dialogues. I'm fine, it's just a wasp
- 13:28looking for food. And notice how each calm
- 13:33experience reinforces itself. The moment you feel calm and
- 13:41confident around Wasps, you believe the next time will be
- 13:45even easier. And the more you feel connected
- 13:51to this calm response, the stronger it becomes.
- 13:57Because nobody wants to feel like they're screaming inside
- 14:03you like feeling relaxed, calm, and confident.
- 14:09But more than that, it will remind you of how far you've
- 14:15come. Because you will remember a
- 14:19version of you from years before that couldn't have done what
- 14:22you're doing now. And that makes you feel good.
- 14:29And you can imagine now in the future being at a picnic, in a
- 14:36garden or in a park, maybe having lunch outside, and you
- 14:45see a wasp close nearby. And instantly you access this
- 14:53calm, a confident state, a state where you remain safe, centred
- 15:00and in control, perhaps even fascinated, even appreciative.
- 15:10Wasps are part of the balance of nature, and the belief settles
- 15:17deeply inside you now that Wasps are harmless when you are calm.
- 15:27Maybe you say to yourself, I am safe, relaxed and confident
- 15:34around them. And then imagine a wasp flies
- 15:42nearby, maybe lands on your arm or your leg.
- 15:47You can calmly and detachedly observe it, notice it and wait a
- 15:55few seconds before it realises you're not the food that it's
- 16:00looking for, and it continues to fly on.
- 16:08When your unconscious mind is now connected to what it would
- 16:13feel like to be calm, relaxed, confident, perhaps even curious
- 16:18or fascinated around Wasps, let. Me know about nodding your head.
- 16:24That's in. So now imagine floating up this
- 16:32calm, confident version of you and floating all the way back
- 16:37into your physical body now. And just as you stepped into
- 16:42that confident version of you, now imagine the confident
- 16:46version of you is stepping into your present reality now, and
- 16:53when all parts feel like they're connected.
- 16:56Let me know about nodding your head.
- 17:02Very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 17:06And you will awaken feeling these resourceful feelings,
- 17:12almost looking forward to being in a place where a wasp might
- 17:15be, just so you can experience what it would feel like to be
- 17:21calm, relaxed, confident, or fascinated around them.
- 17:25Knowing that you are perhaps just one good experience away
- 17:31from completely changing how you feel because you have evidence
- 17:36that something has changed. So take a deep breath in through
- 17:40your nose and out through your nose.
- 17:45Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate into
- 17:49the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to
- 17:54awaken you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 18:01456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 18:05Open your eyes 910 Wide awake, Wide awake.
- 18:10Wide awake.
