  three Wayne County women allegedly told police that he

  custody early Thursday. That would be this very day.

  Ivan Miller, 22, was charged with three counts of criminal

  homicide aggravated murder hours after his arrest in a remote

  section of Colorado. Following his arrest, Miller

  detailed how he allegedly killed the women.

  a Wayne County home in Lyman. However, it's believed the woman

  in the home was killed before the two victims on the trail off

  state Route 12. Miller is accused of stealing

  the vehicle from one of the victims located on the trail,

  which was then tracked through Utah, Arizona and New Mexico

  before it was found abandoned in Pagosa Springs, Co.

  Following a brief search utilizing drones, Miller was

  apprehended without incident and found to have to have a

  concealed handgun and large knife, the Pagosa Springs Police

  Along with a handgun and knife, police also found Miller was in

  possession of bank cards belonging to two of the victims,

  as well as an identification card of another.

  This was filed today in 6th District Court, Wayne County,
• 10:28
  State of Utah. The State of Utah, through Wayne
• 10:32
  County Attorney Michael Wynn, alleges Ivan Miller committed
• 10:35
  the following criminal offenses in Wayne County, Utah.
• 10:38
  Count 1, criminal homicide, homicide, aggravated murder.
• 10:44
  Count 2, criminal homicide, aggravated murder.
• 10:47
  Count 3, criminal homicide, aggravated murder.
• 10:52
  And then it goes into the details and let's just get into
• 10:58
  the details. Counts 2 and three came first on
• 11:01
  this document. On March 4th, 2026, Wayne County
• 11:05
  Dispatch received a call from a subject reporting he had found
• 11:09
  two deceased females, alleged victims 2 and three in the area
• 11:13
  of Coxcomb Trailhead and State Route 12, Wayne County, Utah
• 11:17
  here and after scene one. That is an unfortunately,
• 11:22
  unfortunately named Trailhead, but OK.

  Ranger Lucas Hodgson of the Bureau of Land Management
• 11:30
  arrived at Scene 1 around 1625 hours.
• 11:33
  Ranger Hodgson advised that when he arrived, there were two
• 11:36
  males, later identified as the two deceased females.
• 11:39
  Husbands flagging him from the roadway.
• 11:43
  Whoa. Ranger Hodgson made his way to
• 11:47
  where the deceased females were located.
• 11:49
  Wow. Oh, these, these guys.

  These poor men. Ranger Hodgson checked the

  status of both and confirmed that they indeed were deceased.

  Oh. While walking around scene 1,

  Ranger Hodgson observed 3 spent 45 caliber shell casings and a

  spent 20 gauge shotgun shell near where the bodies were

  located. Ranger Hodgson noted it appeared

  the bodies were possibly dragged to where they were laying, which
• 12:21
  was in a dried up Creek bed. Ranger Hodgson observed that he

  later explained where drops of blood from the road to where the
• 12:29
  bodies were located. Later explained there were drops
• 12:33
  of blood. OK.

  Ranger Hodgson observed the female's tracks going uphill
• 12:38
  above a Buick as well as a set of unidentified tracks.

  A Buick Regal Utah license plate Z, as in Z474G X-ray, was
• 12:49
  located concealed under a tree in the area.

  While walking around the Buick Ranger Hodgson observed a live
• 12:57
  20 gauge shotgun shell behind the vehicle.

  During the initial investigation at scene one, it was reported
• 13:03
  that a 2022 white Subaru Outback with Utah plates was missing
• 13:09
  from the scene. This vehicle was reported as
• 13:12
  belonging to one of the deceased females and was reported to have
• 13:16
  been driven to the location where the two were hiking.

  Count one. It was later discovered the

  Buick was located at Scene 1. It was later discovered the
• 13:30
  Buick that was located at Scene 1 belong to an elderly female
• 13:33
  alleged victim, one that resides at 398 W State Route 24 in
• 13:41
  Lyman, UT, here and after Scene 2.

  So chronologically, these are backwards, right?

  Wayne County Deputies conducted a welfare check at this address
• 13:52
  and observed blood and alleged Victim 1's front room and drag
• 13:57
  marks leading out of the home. Deputies advised that they

  located a deceased female in a cellar located under a shed on
• 14:06
  the property. Deputies advised that it
• 14:09
  appeared the female was moved using a wheelbarrow.

  Deputy Cook with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office advised
• 14:18
  that he had conducted a license plate reader search on both the
• 14:21
  Buick Regal and the Subaru Outback.
• 14:23
  Deputy Cook advised that the last LPR read so license plate
• 14:27
  reader read that he had on the missing Subaru was at 10:32 AM
• 14:33
  on March 4th, 2026 traveling eastbound near Bicknell, UT.

  Deputy Cook advised that the last license plate reader read
• 14:42
  on the Buick was on February 27th, 26 at what is that, 2:49
• 14:47
  PM in Lower Utah. Law enforcement officers spoke
• 14:53
  with the husband of one of the alleged victims who owned the
• 14:55
  white Subaru. The husband was able to use an
• 14:57
  application on his phone to track the current location of
• 15:00
  the key fob for the white Subaru.

  Specifically, the key fob for the white Subaru was located in
• 15:06
  the area of Main Street and Hallmark Drive in Farmington, NM
• 15:10
  at approximately what is that, 9:13 PM on March 4th.

  Law enforcement was then advised that the white Subaru Outback
• 15:20
  had been located on a license plate reader near Durango, Co
• 15:25
  Law enforcement in Colorado located the white Subaru in
• 15:28
  Pagosa Springs, Co. The vehicle was observed at a
• 15:31
  Phillips 66 gas station located at 642 San Juan St. in Pagosa
• 15:36
  Springs, Co where a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with
• 15:40
  dark shaggy hair, this guy right here wearing a red jacket and
• 15:48
  khaki pants was observed within the vehicle.
• 15:52
  The white Subaru was later found abandoned in the area of 449
• 15:56
  Pagosa St. in Pagosa Springs, Co and the suspect fled on foot.

  Law enforcement officers in Colorado secured the white
• 16:03
  Subaru and took photographs of the outside of the vehicle and
• 16:06
  the inside of the vehicle's contents that were visible
• 16:08
  through the windows. Didn't have a exigent
• 16:13
  circumstances or a warrant yet. A cell phone was plugged into a
• 16:16
  phone charger and appeared to be in the center console of the
• 16:19
  vehicle. Officers also observed a
• 16:21
  magazine to a handgun with what appears to be 45 caliber
• 16:25
  ammunition in the single stack magazine single stack because
• 16:29
  it's such a large caliber and what appeared to be 20 gauge
• 16:33
  shotgun shells. This ammunition visually matches
• 16:35
  ammunition found on scene at the Cook's comb Crimes Cox Chrome

  officers with Pagosa Springs that they had the suspect in

  custody following a field contact in the vicinity of the

  abandoned Subaru. They identified him as Ivan
• 18:16
  Miller. Date of birth 3 or 9/22/2003.

  He has an Iowa driver's license. Law enforcement was advised that
• 18:28
  after being taken into custody they located a Rock Island brand
• 18:31
  1911. It's a Colt.

  Colt 19 Elevens are a classic military style semi automatic
• 18:42
  handgun, 45 caliber. They're very big.

  Who was it? General Patton that had Pearl
• 18:49
  handled 19 elevens that he carried on him in World War 2.

  So the 1911 was on Miller's person.

  Law enforcement was advised that post Miranda warnings, Miller

  explained that he had hit an elk in lower Utah a few days ago,

  sold his truck to a tow company and stayed in an area hotel for

  a few days. Miller admitted that he had

  killed someone and stole a car. Wow, that that was a change in

  story pretty quickly here. Of course, maybe it took them.

  Maybe it was harder to get that. Law enforcement was advised that

  a Cash Valley Bank card belonging to alleged victims 2

  and 3. Two debit cards.

  A credit card and an identification card belonging to

  another alleged victim were located in Miller's wallet
• 19:40
  following his arrest. Mr. Ivan Miller is not the

  sharpest tool in the shed. And what an idiot.

  But also I think they definitely got him, but a little too little

  too late. Three people are dead.

  Law enforcement was contacted by Special Agent Rick Drebenstead

  with the FBI in Pagosa after having conducted a second

  interview with Miller. Law enforcement was advised that

  after signing a Miranda Waver, Miller said that he stayed the

  night in the back shed at scene 2.

  After coming to Lyman, UT, Miller advised that he saw a
• 20:21
  Buick LeSabre at that location and watched the old lady drive

  away. Miller then entered her home,
• 20:28
  waited for her behind a door, and shot her in the back of the
• 20:31
  head with a 1911 while she was sitting down watching
• 20:34
  television. That is straight up evil, man.

  ultimately left her. Miller said he grabbed his stuff

  and took the car, but he did not like the car and wanted to find

  a different vehicle. Miller said he parked the

  vehicle near scene 1 where he saw a younger woman and an older

  woman get out of a white Subaru. Miller said he went up to them

  and shot the younger one and what he thought was the chest
• 21:25
  and she went down. Miller then shot the other one
• 21:28
  twice in the body but that she was still moving.

  Miller then stabbed her multiple times in the heart.

  What happens to a person? What happens to a person that

  makes them do this? This is infuriating.

  Miller admitted he dragged both alleged victims at Scene 1 to a

  ditch and laid them next to one another.

  Miller said he did it because he needed money.

  Miller said that he took their credit cards and used the older

  woman's card to buy gas. Miller said that his intent was

  to get back to Iowa and come and came to Pagosa to get gas when

  he saw the police officer and drove to the back of the
• 22:10
  building where the vehicle was found and stayed in the area to
• 22:13
  see if he could get his car back.

  Miller confessed that it had to be done, quote, had to be done,

  but he did not like to do it. Miller described one of his
• 22:23
  alleged victims as having blue or purple hair and that they
• 22:27
  were, quote, lesbians. Miller claimed that all of the

  alleged victims were shot with the 1911.

  When asked what he had done with a knife he had used, Miller

  produced the knife during the interview.
