- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:45Hi, Adam here. And you're about to listen to a
- 0:48hypnosis session all about alcohol reduction.
- 0:51And I was working with a client that knew that the path that
- 0:55they were on in terms of the quantity of daily drinking
- 0:59probably would have a very serious health consequence at
- 1:04some point in the future. Now they didn't know exactly
- 1:07when that was going to happen. It was just highly probable
- 1:11based on the amount of, in their case, beer that they were
- 1:13drinking and the frequency and the quantity that they were
- 1:16drinking it. So they had an idea that they
- 1:18wanted to avert that danger on the horizon.
- 1:22It's almost like if the Titanic had seen the iceberg.
- 1:25Ahead early enough. Then they could have made a
- 1:28detour. Now the iceberg in this case
- 1:31would be. Some.
- 1:32Serious health condition, perhaps even a heart attack or a
- 1:35stroke or something. Just horrible.
- 1:37And he knew it. Was on the horizon and there was
- 1:39an opportunity to avoid them. So this hypnosis session starts
- 1:43with an element of disassociation and induction on
- 1:47a boat and then it goes through this element of timeline and the
- 1:51first timeline takes them to a horrible future if they continue
- 1:55to drink at the level where they're drinking.
- 1:57And the second is actually a process of.
- 2:01Three key components 1. Tapering off, so 5 or 6 days of
- 2:04just reducing how much they're having and.
- 2:07Then a beginning. Transitional phase of not having
- 2:11any alcohol at all, and that's important.
- 2:14Because. By having no alcohol at all, the
- 2:17body then adapts and gets used to having no alcohol.
- 2:21So then when they introduce moderate amounts of alcohol,
- 2:24that actually feels like a win compared to just going from
- 2:28drinking lots to drinking. Less you need.
- 2:30Something to change things and the withdrawals that it was
- 2:35highly likely that they were going to experience are
- 2:38positioned in this hypnosis session as a signal of the body
- 2:42adapting and that is what withdrawals are.
- 2:45The problem is is that most people give a.
- 2:47Different meaning. To withdrawals and that is that
- 2:51they're feeling something horrible and going back to what
- 2:54they were doing before. Will make the.
- 2:56Withdrawals go away and while that's true, it traps people in
- 3:00the destructive behaviour that they want to change, so
- 3:03therefore the true meaning. Of.
- 3:06Withdrawals is that the body is freaking out.
- 3:09Because it doesn't. Have what it's normally getting
- 3:11and in doing so it then has to adapt.
- 3:15And at the point where I'm actually recording this, I'm 2
- 3:201/2 days into a four day fast, so I've not.
- 3:22Eaten any food? For nearly three days and in the
- 3:26first couple of days your body is freaking out because it's
- 3:30used to having food. But once you.
- 3:32Give it the connotation that, OK, this is required for the
- 3:36body to adapt, for the stomach to shrink, for the energy levels
- 3:38to go down. Then it takes a different
- 3:41meaning at all, and then it becomes a very manageable thing.
- 3:46Now, obviously this client was about alcohol.
- 3:48What I'm going through right now is about fasting and I'll
- 3:50probably do a. Recording soon.
- 3:53Just to help anyone else want wanting to go through a fast for
- 3:57either health benefits or weight loss benefits now.
- 4:01Speaking of. Weight loss benefits and health
- 4:02benefits in the description. You can get 22 downloads
- 4:06completely free. Without my intro, without my
- 4:09explanation, without the outro, just the hypnosis sessions.
- 4:13So if you do like this type of hypnosis that I do but you don't
- 4:17want to hear me rambling on. Beforehand, click the.
- 4:20Link in the description to get 22 hypnosis downloads completely
- 4:23free and one of them is based on alcohol reduction, another is
- 4:27based on weight loss. So if any of those things
- 4:29appeal, check that out in the description.
- 4:32For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:35won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 5:24Take a deep breath. In and as you breathe in,
- 5:30breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 5:35And as you exhale, just allow your eyelids to close.
- 5:40And as they close, feel a sense of release that any tension
- 5:49around your eyelids feels like it's melting away.
- 5:54And when you breathe in, breathe in the slightly deeper than you
- 6:02normally would, breathing in a resourceful feeling of
- 6:06relaxation. And as you exhale, just imagine
- 6:15that in the outward breath that as you exhale, stress, tension,
- 6:22any worries is feeling like it's leaving your body in that
- 6:28outward breath. And some people think of their
- 6:36intuition as a communication channel of the unconscious mind.
- 6:42And I want you to think of a colour that represents
- 6:48resourceful relaxation. And whatever colour comes to
- 6:52mind is your intuition giving you a clue that that's the right
- 6:59colour for this feeling. And then as you breathe in,
- 7:05imagine breathing in a bright colour that represents that
- 7:12resourceful relaxation. Imagine that bright colour going
- 7:18in your nose into your lungs. Perhaps.
- 7:23You can even imagine your heart just as it takes oxygen from
- 7:30your lungs. Imagine it taking that
- 7:33resourceful relaxation and imagine it pumping it around in
- 7:38your blood cells. That resourceful relaxation to
- 7:42every cell in your body. And as you exhale, instead of
- 7:49imagining that it's just that carbon dioxide, I want you to
- 7:54imagine seeing dark grey shadows leaving your body in the outward
- 8:02breath and allow these dark shadows to represent anything.
- 8:09Unresourceful feelings of dependency, reliance, stress and
- 8:19worries. Anything unresourceful, just
- 8:23imagine it leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 8:29So as you breathe in that bright color and exhale those dark
- 8:32shadows, imagine what it would feel like that just by breathing
- 8:38in. And breathing out is like an
- 8:42emotional transfusion, giving your unconscious the resources
- 8:48it needs and releasing any of those emotions or feelings that
- 8:55impede a wonderful state of change.
- 9:01And just imagine that the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed
- 9:07you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 9:12the deeper you breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 9:19imagination awakens. And I'd like you to imagine what
- 9:25it would feel like to be on a boat.
- 9:32Imagine that boat is out on the water.
- 9:37Perfectly calm weather, blue skies, sunshine, kind of weather
- 9:45where you can be on the boat and not need to do anything.
- 9:53And I wonder if you could imagine being on that seat at
- 9:59the rear looking out at the water.
- 10:04And I know sometimes you've looked out at the water and
- 10:10started to Daydream. I did you imagine how you want
- 10:16things to be. So that seat on that boat
- 10:22looking out of the water is already a place where you know
- 10:27how to go into a trance like state because you've done it
- 10:32before. And as you imagine looking out
- 10:36of the water, continue to breathe in and resourceful
- 10:41relaxation and continue to exhale any stress, worries or
- 10:49tension as you feel like you're drifting to a place, a relaxing
- 10:57place, eyelids feeling heavier and heavier.
- 11:02That's it. Very soon I'm going to count
- 11:05downwards from 12:50 and with each descending number I want
- 11:13you to focus on a different part of your body and imagine what
- 11:18that part of your body would feel like to completely release
- 11:25any tension. 10 Focusing on your eyelids, breathing in relaxation
- 11:34and exhaling tension, taking you deeper and deeper.
- 11:39Relaxed 9 Focusing on your forehead.
- 11:43Now you know the muscles responsible for expressions like
- 11:49surprise or concern. As you breathe out, release any
- 11:54tension in your forehead, taking you deeper and deeper.
- 11:58Relaxed 8 Now focus on your jaw. As you imagine breathing in that
- 12:06relaxation, just feel your jaw loo loosen and relax.
- 12:09That's it, letting go, breathing in and breathing out even deeper
- 12:17and allow your body to do the breathing for you.
- 12:20No need to force a breath in or force a breath out.
- 12:26Just notice it getting deeper and deeper, slower and slower,
- 12:30more and more relaxed. That's it.
- 12:35And then seven, focus on your neck and your shoulders.
- 12:40And I wonder if you could imagine crystals of ice fused
- 12:44into your muscle tissue. But on that sunny day on the
- 12:49boat, imagine those crystals of ice that represent stress and
- 12:54tension just melting away. That's it.
- 12:59Feel the neck and shoulders relax.
- 13:03And then the seven turns into 6. Just feel that relaxation
- 13:09spreading down your arms. I want you to imagine what it
- 13:14would feel like for your arms to be so relaxed.
- 13:19They feel like the limbs of a puppet with no strings.
- 13:24Limp, loose, relaxed. And it feels good to become more
- 13:29and more relaxed with each descending number.
- 13:34And then 5, focus on your lungs, your stomach, your heart, and
- 13:40imagine what it would feel like for your internal organs to
- 13:45relax. That's it for going down into
- 13:49your gut. And if the neck and the
- 13:54shoulders is where stress is sometimes stored, the gut is
- 13:59where echoes of anxiety lay. And just feel any anxiety there
- 14:05in the gut, even if it's an echo just melting away now.
- 14:12And then. Three, feel that relaxation
- 14:14going down into your legs, top of your legs, feeling more
- 14:20relaxed down into your calf. Feel the calf muscles more and
- 14:25more relaxed as three becomes 2 down into your feet.
- 14:29And then one. Just imagine a ripple of
- 14:32relaxation from your toes to the top of your head all the way
- 14:35down to your fingertips, and imagine drifting off into a
- 14:40dreamlike sleep. And in that dream, imagine
- 14:45you're still in the same boat, but now seeing that version of
- 14:49you in a dreamlike sleep. And just check by lifting up one
- 14:55of your arms to feel how limp, loose and relaxed that arm is
- 15:01and let it go down by your side. That's it.
- 15:06And I want you to feel what it would feel like to imagine that
- 15:16from this boat, you can now see a hologram.
- 15:25And this hologram is your future, and we're going to
- 15:29explore two different futures. A future where you continue
- 15:39drinking at the quantity and frequency of alcohol that you
- 15:45have been drinking. But I want you to make this
- 15:49hologram look so real. That you can.
- 15:52See your future self. I want you to see yourself a
- 15:58year from now, a year drinking at the same quantity, the same
- 16:04frequency. And maybe there's not much
- 16:07change. Maybe you're just seeing
- 16:11yourself slightly heavier, slightly less energy, needing to
- 16:20drink to sleep. But I want you to take it five
- 16:27years out, five years of drinking this way.
- 16:34And if you can see a future where there are clues of a
- 16:37deterioration of health, just let me know by nodding your
- 16:41head. That's it.
- 16:43And I want you to imagine stepping into the hologram and
- 16:50feeling what it would be like to have five years of drinking this
- 16:55way. Maybe you feel heavier, maybe
- 17:01there's more inflammation on knees and ankles.
- 17:05Maybe motivation has slipped. Maybe it's caused some issue in
- 17:11a friendship or relationship. I want you to go another five
- 17:19years in the future and keep going forward until there is
- 17:25something that can't be reversed.
- 17:31Maybe it's a health scare, a diagnosis.
- 17:37Maybe it's something that impedes your mobility.
- 17:42I want you to use the power of your imagination not to show you
- 17:46what will happen, but what could happen.
- 17:52What is the worst thing that can happen of 10 years of drinking
- 17:57this way? I want you to get a sense then
- 18:07something is happening that if you had a time machine you would
- 18:10love to go back 10 years before and make a change.
- 18:14But sometimes we have to make it worse before it can get better.
- 18:21I want you to go forwards in time to the point of maximum
- 18:26pain and distress, where something is happening linked to
- 18:32the drinking that means you would do anything to change it.
- 18:39Maybe you're on your deathbed. Maybe someone you care about is
- 18:46following in your footsteps because they respect and admire
- 18:50you. They're drinking like you are.
- 18:55Whatever it takes to find the point of maximum emotional
- 18:58leverage. Go to that place.
- 19:03So much so that this feels not like a should, but a must, an
- 19:09absolute must to make a change. Make it as bad as it needs to be
- 19:18to create a powerful emotional lever, a desire to change.
- 19:25And when you're at that place, let me know by nodding your
- 19:30head. That's it.
- 19:34Feel that determination, that decisiveness, a feeling of being
- 19:42so resolute nothing will stop you.
- 19:45And then allow yourself to go back on the boat and seeing a
- 19:53different hologram. I want you to see a version of
- 19:57you that for the next 5 days or so, reduces proportionately what
- 20:06you're drinking. Consider this five days of
- 20:10tapering. I want you to see that version
- 20:15of you adjusting, adapting. And then following that five
- 20:24days, perhaps starting on a specific Sunday, I want you to
- 20:32take all of that emotional leverage, that feeling of
- 20:41tenacious determination, that part of you that says enough is
- 20:49enough. And I want you to see that
- 20:53version of you without alcohol. And in the first few days of
- 20:59that 30 days, I want you to see yourself drowsy, fatigued, maybe
- 21:10see yourself cranky, grumpy, easy to lose your call.
- 21:18See that when you sleep, you might be restless, agitated, but
- 21:24I want you to see you smile because that version of you
- 21:30knows that these withdrawals are evidence of your body adapting.
- 21:43What if the withdrawals are the chickens coming home to roost?
- 21:51Nature of any habit is that it's easy to start and difficult to
- 21:58leave. But I want you to see yourself
- 22:01with those qualities that you exude in other areas of your
- 22:05life. Defiant, relentless.
- 22:10I want you to see that version of you that embraces the
- 22:14challenge. The fact that it's difficult is
- 22:18what makes it appealing. So when you're going through
- 22:24that rocky period, you realise the more intense the
- 22:30withdrawals, the less time they go on for.
- 22:36And then see yourself perhaps 567 days of no alcohol.
- 22:47I see that your body is already starting to adapt.
- 22:53I want you to see that you're sleeping well.
- 22:59I want you to see a clue that you're already starting to lose
- 23:02some weight. And I want you to see yourself
- 23:08on a weekday night enjoying a meal.
- 23:11And alcohol doesn't need to be there.
- 23:15And I want you to see yourself on a Friday or Saturday evening
- 23:20hanging out with a friend and then drinking.
- 23:25But you're drinking water or another soft drink.
- 23:30And I want you to see the look of pride on your face,
- 23:35accomplishment that the pleasure you get from becoming an
- 23:44evolved, enhanced version of you feels better than whatever
- 23:50alcohol wasn't doing for you anyway.
- 23:53I want you to see that the first week was definitely the hardest,
- 24:00and the second week there's moments you're not even thinking
- 24:04about it. I want you to see other people
- 24:10are encouraging you, and whenever anyone encourages you,
- 24:15that puts the wind in your sails.
- 24:19But whenever anyone tries to talk you into becoming that old
- 24:25version of you, destined to crash into the rocks, that
- 24:30provokes defiance and eagerness to prove them wrong, to be your
- 24:36own person. I don't want you to see that two
- 24:45weeks turns into three and then four.
- 24:49I want you to see that your body is already adapting with just
- 24:53four weeks of no daily drinking, a brightness to your skin, in
- 25:00your eyes, a spring in your step because you're sleeping better.
- 25:07And that enhances your cognitive powers.
- 25:12You're sharp. The ideas are better.
- 25:17And then I want you to see that future version of you beyond the
- 25:22month that has created unconscious boundaries, rules of
- 25:30engagement. In the same way that you don't
- 25:34drink on a boat, I want you to see that version of you not
- 25:39drinking on a weekday. I want you to see that version
- 25:43of you not drinking alone. And what does that mean?
- 25:50It means that when you are drinking, it's socially, it's on
- 25:57a Friday or a Saturday evening, and it's always with people to
- 26:06enhance a moment, not deal with anything.
- 26:10I want you to see that version of you choosing to drink but not
- 26:14needing to drink. And if you can see that future
- 26:19version of you with the kind of relationship with alcohol that
- 26:23feels that you can just live that way forever, let me know
- 26:27about nodding your head. I want you to see that version
- 26:35of you is ready for this challenge.
- 26:40And I want you to flashback to a time, a time when you did
- 26:45something challenging where there was a part of you that
- 26:51could have given up, but you didn't.
- 26:54And I want you to harness that feeling that whatever you felt
- 26:59doing that difficult challenge in the past, step into that
- 27:04version of you and awaken it within you now.
- 27:11I want you to get a sense that you don't have to do this.
- 27:15You are choosing to do this. And I want you to think of your
- 27:21why. Why are you doing this?
- 27:27You don't have to, and yet you're choosing to.
- 27:31And every time you remind yourself why, you unleash the
- 27:36resources to facilitate the how. And when you're crystal clear on
- 27:43your why, let me know by nodding your head.
- 27:48That's it. And I want you to amplify that
- 27:53why. Perhaps the why that links to
- 28:01what happens if you don't change.
- 28:05A good why means that you're rewarded for making the change,
- 28:14and there's a penalty for not changing as you remind yourself
- 28:21whatever you are not changing, you are choosing.
- 28:26And each of these holograms, you can choose, you can, you can
- 28:30choose to stay the same or you can choose to make a change.
- 28:36And I want you to think, think of a time when you were at your
- 28:42maximum level of tenacity. I want you to get a sense that
- 28:52tenacity means that even if there is a set back, you double
- 28:59down. You double down on your resolve
- 29:05to continue. And in the past, maybe it felt
- 29:09like Snakes and ladders, that just one drink was permission to
- 29:14go all the way back to square one.
- 29:17But not this future version of you.
- 29:21This future version of you is relentless.
- 29:26It will not allow a set back to represent failure.
- 29:36I want you to get a sense that you are relentless.
- 29:41Any set back increases the resolve and any progress gives
- 29:46you the feeling of momentum. Whatever happens, you're moving
- 29:51forward and I want you to think of that version of you that
- 29:57changes your relationship with alcohol, tapers off for five
- 30:02days, no alcohol for 30 days, and then only social drinking on
- 30:07the weekends beyond that. And I want you to see that
- 30:10version of you 10 years from now.
- 30:14I want you to see that version of you looking healthy, full of
- 30:20life, so many wonderful memories and moments.
- 30:30And sometimes all it takes is to compare 2 futures, the future of
- 30:38not changing, and contrast that with the future of making a
- 30:43change until it becomes obvious not what you should do, but what
- 30:53you want to do. This is an empowered choice you
- 30:59are choosing. And when you're clear that you
- 31:05know what you want, why you wanted, and how you will get
- 31:09there, let me know by nodding your head.
- 31:14That's it. So allow that to feel like a
- 31:18seed has been planted deep in your subconscious mind, already
- 31:23starting to take root. And over the next few days you
- 31:28will notice new thoughts that weren't there before, new ideas
- 31:34about what you think about your future.
- 31:40You will see people that have not made the change.
- 31:50All these thoughts will just pop into your brain and you won't
- 31:54have to do anything because your unconscious is going to work for
- 31:59you. And now that seed has been
- 32:02planted. Just imagine being there in the
- 32:06deck of that boat, seeing you sat in a rear facing chair
- 32:11looking fast asleep. Step into that version of you.
- 32:16So the unconscious and the conscious are now one and very
- 32:21soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 32:27So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 32:31nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 32:34your toes, start to connect and calibrate into the here and the
- 32:37now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 32:44Starting to count 123 Waking up 456 More alert 7-8.
- 32:52Open your eyes, Open your eyes 910.
- 32:55Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
