Transcript
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: If you are great at what you do, your reputation is solid, and your network is full of impressive names, but none of it is helping you get closer to your business goals or professional aspirations, you are in the right place.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Social Capital Method.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Sabine Gideon.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: This is the show for the high-performing professional, founder-led business owner, or consultant ready for the referrals, revenue, and recognition your work deserves.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Tune in each week for a breakdown of the strategies, systems, and identity level shifts behind sustainable relationship-driven growth.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Let's get into it.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So if you have the mindset and the awareness that you are making deposits through, you know, a longer period of time, then when you actually need something, you don't feel as anxious when it comes to reaching out to people.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: And then they don't perceive you reaching out to them as you using them or just get trying to get something from them.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So my tip for you today is to think about, you know, individuals in your network.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: We talked about your champions, your collaborators, and your connectors.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Choose one person and make a deposit today.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And that deposit can look like a quick resource.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: It can look like you connecting two people in your network because you know that they both have a common interest or maybe a need.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: So do that with a mindset and the awareness and understanding that, like anything else, like money compounds, these small gestures will compound over a period of time.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: And of course, when done consistently, you know, what you get to reap from that in terms of social capital later on and down the line will be much greater than what it is that you've actually put in.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: So with that, during the next Cultivating Connections challenge, we'll be talking a little bit more about how to make those deposits, what that looks like.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: I refer to them as having an ask and a give.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: And so, what does your give look like across the board?
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: And how can you tailor it for the people that you're going to be building relationships with?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Thank you for tuning in to this week's episode.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Before you go, I want to put something in your hands that will help you actually apply this work.
