- 0:03Speaker 1: She's on The Money radio show.
- 0:07Speaker 2: With Victoria Divines.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Now, hello and welcome to that. She's on the Money Podcast,
- 0:13Speaker 1: the podcast for millennials who want financial freedom. That's right,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Oh mate, that was better than last week.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Look, Mitch, do you reckon? You do better?
- 0:23Speaker 2: I reckon, I'll do.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I'll give you a turn next week.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, next week.
- 0:26Speaker 4: If I nail it, I get Travs salary, and I
- 0:28Speaker 4: also get Travs full family and all his all his.
- 0:32Speaker 3: He's not actually his cat. That's really nice. So you
- 0:35Speaker 3: might want to take the cat. Oh god, okay, sorry, sorry,
- 0:39Speaker 3: all right, well I'm.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Both so I don't want Trav's disgusting cat.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm trying to make fun jokes here. I'm trying
- 0:47Speaker 3: to be friendly. I'm trying to be kind, and you
- 0:49Speaker 3: guys are just being.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you're the one who just absolutely shit canned me.
- 0:54Speaker 3: So, because I want to go, because it's my hands
- 0:56Speaker 3: day today, my friends are waiting.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Do you know what, though, I've actually got an another
- 1:00Speaker 1: little money tidbit. Remember last week I gave you two
- 1:03Speaker 1: really cool fun facts about money. No, remember the scents
- 1:06Speaker 1: and the notes?
- 1:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah yeah, but did we put those on
- 1:09Speaker 3: the Oh we did put those on the podcast.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that was actually really good.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I've got another one. Oh, money, fats, money fat? Do
- 1:17Speaker 1: you know in like twenty cent pieces in tents, actually
- 1:20Speaker 1: any coin, they've got a ridge around the edge, right,
- 1:23Speaker 1: So there's ridges around the edge. Yeah, do you know
- 1:26Speaker 1: why they are?
- 1:27Speaker 3: So they make nice sounds when they roll. That's all
- 1:30Speaker 3: I've got.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No, because you've put a lot of thought into that.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Hey what have you got, midge. Why do they have
- 1:36Speaker 3: ridges around the edge.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Because they're for blind people?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Oh no, because they're all well the shame ridges mate.
- 1:43Speaker 3: No, that that would be fine.
- 1:44Speaker 1: No, they're not.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Because fifty cent pieces they're smooth. They feel different to twenty.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Cent because back in the day, right, people actually would
- 1:53Speaker 1: clip off little parts of the silver coins because the
- 1:57Speaker 1: silver was made from was a little Finally, they'd collect
- 2:00Speaker 1: them from every coin, go snip snip, snip, snip snip,
- 2:03Speaker 1: and then they'd go and take those to the bank
- 2:04Speaker 1: and get more money for them, still spend the coins.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So they put ridges around the outside so people couldn't
- 2:10Speaker 1: do it because if they cut it off there was
- 2:11Speaker 1: no ridges, they'd be like, somebody's messed with this coin.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'd still mess with the coin. You would anyway, I'd
- 2:17Speaker 3: still mess with a coin. I think that's great. Do
- 2:19Speaker 3: you know what? It took me a really long time
- 2:21Speaker 3: to realize that our silver coins and our gold coins
- 2:23Speaker 3: were not made of silver and they were not made
- 2:25Speaker 3: of gold. I remember finding that out and I was like, oh,
- 2:29Speaker 3: like here I am thinking that, Wow, I have a
- 2:31Speaker 3: gold coin. It's not gold. They're lying.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You know what isn't depressing? What isn't the free bloody chickens?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Where you go with this?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Three bloody chickens.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yes, three chickens.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I love this.
- 2:40Speaker 3: That's what we're talking about today. We've really taken the
- 2:43Speaker 3: Victoria's Hens Day theme and run with it.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I know, like, so people think, how can I save money?
- 2:49Speaker 1: I bet when you go I'm going to listen to
- 2:50Speaker 1: the Sheese on the Money radio show, I'm not going
- 2:52Speaker 1: to learn how to get me a free chicken. Well,
- 2:54Speaker 1: you are wrong, because you are this week.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Look this week, I'm very activated. It all pot is.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Actually oh my god, that's unethical. We can't say that again.
- 3:06Speaker 3: We're going to say it again, and we're going to
- 3:08Speaker 3: put it in the radio show. I hope it makes
- 3:10Speaker 3: the final edit.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm going to make.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Sure played music really loud over that segment in the radio.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, no, no, it's fine. And also you're going
- 3:19Speaker 1: to give some sneaky little tips about how we can
- 3:22Speaker 1: get some more money in our bank accounts, but also
- 3:24Speaker 1: get yourself into the lounge of your favorite airline very quickly.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I like to go to the lounge when
- 3:31Speaker 3: I'm flying because it makes me feel fancy, and then
- 3:33Speaker 3: I go straight to the back of the plane when
- 3:35Speaker 3: I get on it, So you know, the lounge is good.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Free wine makes the flight more bearable and you can
- 3:42Speaker 3: take it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: There's no turbulence. There's no turbulence when you've.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Had a wine, exactly a turbulence turbular.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What are you going to do on your hands night
- 3:50Speaker 1: before we go?
- 3:51Speaker 3: I don't actually know.
- 3:52Speaker 1: What are you hoping to do? What do you know?
- 3:55Speaker 3: I don't have any Oh no I do. I did
- 3:57Speaker 3: say no stroopers. I know that's a little bit bland. Yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 3: like you guys can be a bit more creative than that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: You got to cancel that.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Stripper to cancel it, can I got the three of them,
- 4:09Speaker 4: all three ye I'll call Braxton and you call Stella.
- 4:13Speaker 3: The very magic Mike. Oh, actually, if it's Magic Mike,
- 4:18Speaker 3: we can absolutely have him. That's all right, I've got
- 4:20Speaker 3: some rules. The only thing I know about my hands
- 4:23Speaker 3: is that it is tennis themed. Oh that's at once.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yes, love all for all.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I am kind of hoping it just means we drink.
- 4:35Speaker 1: A lot of Pyms good or what's that other one
- 4:38Speaker 1: that they drink all the time. APO, Yeah, yeah, I
- 4:41Speaker 1: love it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Apol Spritty sprints it up.
- 4:43Speaker 1: All right. Well, the reason why Mitch and I are
- 4:46Speaker 1: half naked is because we are your surprise strippers and
- 4:53Speaker 1: the rest female bee cup nice.
- 4:57Speaker 3: If you need to borrow let me.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Know the rest. If you cannot see the show, you
- 5:01Speaker 1: have to listen to the show, which is she's on
- 5:03Speaker 1: the Money radio show happening right now. Let's get into
- 5:07Speaker 1: a Mitchie. This is She's on the Money radio show.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Coming up a little bit later on, we're going to
- 5:12Speaker 1: do a money dilemma where Maddie's actually asked whether or
- 5:16Speaker 1: not pet insurance is a scam. Budget director, amazing pet Insurance.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I believe your dog Lucy.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Is with her Lucky Lucy. Honestly, thank god I haven't
- 5:24Speaker 3: had to claim on it. So you won't get any
- 5:25Speaker 3: experience there. But you know what I have done read
- 5:27Speaker 3: their pds. We love a PDS in this house. And
- 5:30Speaker 3: you know what, I'm gonna ask Mitch, Mitch, what's her pds?
- 5:33Speaker 2: So I grew up with sisters pds?
- 5:35Speaker 4: Is that time of mum and you know it hits
- 5:37Speaker 4: and I don't want to say mood swings, but you.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Know, all right, Okay, let's do this. Let's get out
- 5:44Speaker 1: of this real quick.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Give me a home, Mama, and the gum Trench.
- 5:48Speaker 1: We love to gum Tree trash or treasure. Mitch. This
- 5:53Speaker 1: is a brand new game that we've got for Victoria.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Tell us what it is.
- 5:56Speaker 4: So what's that feeling yet when you look through gum
- 5:58Speaker 4: Tree and you think I'm a god found a piece
- 6:01Speaker 4: of treasure or that's a piece of trash. But we
- 6:03Speaker 4: all have an item that we've got off gum Tree.
- 6:05Speaker 4: We'll bring it to each other. And I think I'm
- 6:08Speaker 4: going to go first because this was actually sent in
- 6:10Speaker 4: to me, guys Savage, he sent me this.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So it's a limited edition Mario milk, Marrio milk. If
- 6:16Speaker 2: you can see this.
- 6:17Speaker 4: So the best by date on the milk is March tenth,
- 6:19Speaker 4: but it actually spells out Mario.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Oh wow, ah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Ten, it looks like Mario. They're asking for sixty nine
- 6:28Speaker 2: thousand dollars.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Is it empty? Is it just the bottle? Has it
- 6:31Speaker 3: been cleaned?
- 6:32Speaker 2: It is full, So I don't think to drink the
- 6:35Speaker 2: Mario milk.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It's vintage.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's trash for me. Trash all right? Is this
- 6:40Speaker 1: a gum tree? Trash or treasure? A big blue yacht
- 6:44Speaker 1: twenty three foot French to four thirteen hundred thin keel.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I don't even know what the hell that is? That
- 6:51Speaker 1: is either sell their boat, he says. I know with
- 6:53Speaker 1: all of my projects, I won't get around to this one.
- 6:56Speaker 1: The buyer will need to pick up lots of work
- 6:59Speaker 1: I am, but it looks like it could end up
- 7:02Speaker 1: being a great project. Located in Dalesford. Remember, you're going
- 7:06Speaker 1: to have to go pick it up. What would you
- 7:07Speaker 1: pay for that?
- 7:07Speaker 3: I don't think i'd pay anything because I live quite
- 7:09Speaker 3: close to the city and there's like permitted parking outside
- 7:13Speaker 3: my house and there's actually not a lot of opportunity
- 7:16Speaker 3: to store a boat, so I'm probably going to shy
- 7:18Speaker 3: away from this one.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Too many range rovers in the driveway.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Then yeah, yeah, yeah, that's definitely it.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Now this is trash for me, This is absolute trash.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I'm not a boat boy. Look at me. They look
- 7:26Speaker 2: like a boat boy.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Well, you could be a boat boy.
- 7:28Speaker 1: He looked pretty good in the little jem I've.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Been watching below deck. You definitely look like you fit on.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have to be the captain though,
- 7:37Speaker 4: I couldn't be.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Like a drink wench. I'd have to be the captain.
- 7:39Speaker 3: No, no, no, you'd definitely be like a deck hand.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Did it be good?
- 7:43Speaker 1: I think flirting very close for a Saturday morning for
- 7:47Speaker 1: a certain amount of things here. No, okay, So it
- 7:49Speaker 1: was twenty five hundred dollars.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Oh that's pretty cheap for a boat.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It was because now Victoria divine, it is free.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Oh free, Oh.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Victoria, put your life jacket on. Picking it up this saber.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So trash, your treasure, trash.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Like, honestly, what am I going to do with that?
- 8:06Speaker 1: It's perfectly in line with your persona the values.
- 8:09Speaker 3: All right, Well, guys, I have one for you, and
- 8:11Speaker 3: I want to know if you guys think that it
- 8:13Speaker 3: is trash or treasure. But I also want to know
- 8:15Speaker 3: what you pay for this this one. I've picked up
- 8:17Speaker 3: for you, Michi mich All right. So we've got three roosters,
- 8:22Speaker 3: so three of us for you.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Don't wait to hear how these ties.
- 8:25Speaker 3: It's from Honeywood in Tasmania. It says, pet or pot
- 8:29Speaker 3: free to a good home, umane killing or add to
- 8:33Speaker 3: your own flock. I'm done with all the cockle doodle, douce.
- 8:37Speaker 3: They're about six months old. You better not be a
- 8:39Speaker 3: cock fighter. Bad karma to you, okay, But the thing
- 8:42Speaker 3: that really got me here was pet or pot. You
- 8:45Speaker 3: can keep it, keep it, or you could just cook it.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Just add some magi, yeah, curry favoring, and you got
- 8:51Speaker 4: yourself tea.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, babe, have you got some misseell stock, chuck that
- 8:54Speaker 3: in there, Throw a bay leaf. I don't know what
- 8:57Speaker 3: else do they put in.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I'm going to get these three roosters and you get
- 9:00Speaker 1: them for free. They're coming straight to your house, and
- 9:02Speaker 1: you were going to cook us up a nice little feace, Victoria.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I don't even eat chicken, guys, it makes me so uncomfortable,
- 9:09Speaker 3: all right, So I want to know that's your treasure, recod.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Hey, let's get back into the money stuff. It is
- 9:16Speaker 1: time to do this, yeah, each week we bring somebody's
- 9:20Speaker 1: financial story on air. That's how we make sure that
- 9:23Speaker 1: we're a legit money finance show.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Yeah, we've got to do something, yeah, leimate, Yeah, kicked
- 9:28Speaker 3: off the radio or something. I don't want that to happen.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And that's already almost happened. God, think that was awkward.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Please don't talk about it. I shall gets You've.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Still got two more strikes. It's fine, we can do it.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but if you don't acknowledge it happened, it's not
- 9:39Speaker 3: true exactly.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Hey, if you've got a question, hit us up on
- 9:42Speaker 1: social with just search. She's on the Money. Mattie's actually
- 9:44Speaker 1: posted in how She's on the Money Facebook community. She's
- 9:47Speaker 1: asking Mitch about pet insurance.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Yeah, so this is what Maddie says. She says, first
- 9:51Speaker 4: of all, I love the show, and Mitch is very handsome. Maddie,
- 9:53Speaker 4: that's so kind. She also says, does anyone have any
- 9:56Speaker 4: thoughts and experiences with pet insurance? We're getting a puppy
- 9:59Speaker 4: and a few pigs. We live semi rurally and tics
- 10:02Speaker 4: can be a problem around here. I just want to
- 10:04Speaker 4: make sure I'm doing the best by her and make
- 10:06Speaker 4: sure she's covered. If anything happens, looking for reasons against
- 10:10Speaker 4: and four good and bad experiences with specific companies, and
- 10:13Speaker 4: things to watch out for in the contracts, etc. Victoria,
- 10:16Speaker 4: this is your domain. You've got a dog and you
- 10:18Speaker 4: know contracts. This is perfect for you.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I do. So we're going to go back to the
- 10:22Speaker 3: contract part of this. Because you thought it was PMS
- 10:24Speaker 3: not PDS.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Oh that's it.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I thought, ye we'd moved past that.
- 10:28Speaker 3: We haven't. We had it.
- 10:30Speaker 1: That's what the meeting was about, guys.
- 10:31Speaker 3: But we're going to start the conversation there, right. So
- 10:33Speaker 3: PDS is a product disclosure statement, and that's actually going
- 10:37Speaker 3: to tell you the terms and conditions of any type
- 10:39Speaker 3: of insurance policy. And it seems to be the part
- 10:42Speaker 3: that a lot of people get a little bit stuck
- 10:43Speaker 3: on when they're picking insurance, because you go to the website,
- 10:46Speaker 3: you read all their beautiful marketing and see what they say,
- 10:49Speaker 3: and you go, all right, well that sounds good, sign up.
- 10:51Speaker 3: And then unfortunately something might happen to a pet and
- 10:55Speaker 3: you go to claim and you're like, oh, I thought
- 10:56Speaker 3: I could claim I had pet insurance. But the PDS
- 10:59Speaker 3: is the nitty grit details of the insurance policy. So
- 11:02Speaker 3: you really need to actually have a bit of a
- 11:04Speaker 3: flick through that to make sure it covers all the
- 11:07Speaker 3: things that you're looking for. So Maddie said, there's a
- 11:10Speaker 3: bit of a tick problem. So what I'd do is
- 11:12Speaker 3: go to the pet insurance policy that you're looking at
- 11:15Speaker 3: and even just control f tick. Look if it's covered
- 11:18Speaker 3: or not. Because you don't want to get a pet
- 11:20Speaker 3: insurance policy, pay for it because they can be expensive
- 11:24Speaker 3: these days. Then if something happens, you find you're not
- 11:26Speaker 3: actually covered for what you thought you were covered for.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And that advice goes to any type of insurance, any
- 11:31Speaker 3: type of policy that you take out, but when it
- 11:34Speaker 3: comes to pet insurance, it's really up to you. So yes,
- 11:38Speaker 3: I have pet insurance on Lucy. And the reason I
- 11:41Speaker 3: do is because dogs are little nightmares. I would never
- 11:45Speaker 3: want someone to be in the financial situation where they're
- 11:48Speaker 3: like I have to pick between getting a loan or
- 11:50Speaker 3: spending money I don't have in my pet's life. Because
- 11:53Speaker 3: nowadays pets are such big parts of the family that
- 11:56Speaker 3: I do think that insurance serves a really important role. However,
- 12:00Speaker 3: I think a lot of the criticism around pet insurance
- 12:03Speaker 3: comes from people not doing their research properly, Whereas Maddie
- 12:06Speaker 3: has said, there's tick issues where I live, and I
- 12:09Speaker 3: want to make sure that's all good. And if you
- 12:11Speaker 3: look at you know, budget directs policy because there are
- 12:14Speaker 3: best friends at the moment, Yeah, there is a tick
- 12:17Speaker 3: policy included, so tick paralysis is something they cover. There's
- 12:20Speaker 3: a bit of a waiting period, but it's really important
- 12:23Speaker 3: to understand what isn't isn't included and have a look
- 12:26Speaker 3: at those things. I promise a PDS can feel really
- 12:30Speaker 3: overwhelming because you're like, oh, what the hell, it's like
- 12:32Speaker 3: the terms and conditions, But when you start to break
- 12:34Speaker 3: it down, the entire purpose of a PDS is that
- 12:37Speaker 3: it's written in a way that lay people I, EU
- 12:40Speaker 3: and me can read it properly. From my perspective, PET
- 12:43Speaker 3: insurance is definitely not a scam, but it's up to
- 12:46Speaker 3: you and your values. But it's actually really important when
- 12:49Speaker 3: you're looking at any type of policy to take out
- 12:52Speaker 3: that it actually covers the things you think it will,
- 12:55Speaker 3: because those scammy stories they come from people who didn't
- 12:58Speaker 3: read the PDS and then try to claim something that
- 13:01Speaker 3: wasn't included and go, oh my god, like I don't
- 13:03Speaker 3: understand why they're doing so hard by me, and the
- 13:05Speaker 3: reality of the circumstances are well, it was never included.
- 13:09Speaker 2: So read the pds.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Read the pds.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Dogs actually do some of the craziest thing.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they do.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Good friend of mine has two dogs. He left his
- 13:19Speaker 1: little boys jumper hanging over a chair covered in yogurt.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Came back and found a dog had eaten one of
- 13:26Speaker 1: the sleeves. Oh not, I had to take both of
- 13:28Speaker 1: them because he wasn't sure which one it was.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Oh no, that is literally the worst.
- 13:33Speaker 1: So let's do this right now. Thirty one O six five.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Why do you have to take your pets to the
- 13:39Speaker 1: How much did it cost? We want to hear some
- 13:40Speaker 1: crazy stories and hopefully please keep it to ones where
- 13:43Speaker 1: they are. Okay, we don't want to hear anything, please happy, careful.
- 13:49Speaker 1: This is She's on the Money radio show.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I love this episode. We've talked about chickens, we've talked
- 13:55Speaker 3: about my hens, we get to talk about people's pet insurance,
- 13:58Speaker 3: we get to talk about pets. Now got some callers.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I don't know what it's about.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It's all because just because Maddie hit us up.
- 14:04Speaker 4: But she wants to know whether or not she should
- 14:05Speaker 4: get pet insurance and she wanted real life examples, So
- 14:08Speaker 4: trave open the lines thirteen one, I six five? Why
- 14:10Speaker 4: did you have to take your pet to the vet?
- 14:12Speaker 4: And then we want to know how much it costs?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Like we do? Yes?
- 14:16Speaker 2: True?
- 14:16Speaker 3: Have we got traves?
- 14:17Speaker 1: We got Jordy right now, Jordy, what did your jack
- 14:20Speaker 1: Russell do? Mate?
- 14:21Speaker 5: She looked a cane ton?
- 14:23Speaker 1: What like?
- 14:24Speaker 3: What are you doing looking a cane toad? Sir?
- 14:26Speaker 1: Does she have a good time though?
- 14:27Speaker 5: Yeah, she was loving it until she collapsed and started
- 14:30Speaker 5: frosten at the mount?
- 14:32Speaker 3: What happened? So you had to take her to that?
- 14:34Speaker 3: She's okay now.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, got her some and then yeah she come good.
- 14:40Speaker 5: But we're looking to be harry there once day?
- 14:42Speaker 3: And how much did it cost you?
- 14:44Speaker 5: I think it's over five five hundred?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Who I thought you said five thousands?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Like five hundred bucks? Because your dog lockd a frog?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Like what?
- 14:53Speaker 3: She was just out there looking for her prince charming.
- 14:56Speaker 3: She'd heard the news. She found a cane toad. Got confused?
- 15:00Speaker 2: Sounds like yours for a good trip? Yeah, yeah, that's
- 15:03Speaker 2: good value to me.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Thanks for sharing that, thanks, Geordie. All right. On thirty one,
- 15:08Speaker 1: sixty five. We are taking your calls right now. Why
- 15:10Speaker 1: do you have to take your pet to the vet?
- 15:12Speaker 1: And how much did it cost you? Jess, your staffy
- 15:15Speaker 1: has been causing you to a bit of trouble mate.
- 15:16Speaker 1: What happened?
- 15:17Speaker 6: Yes, our dog Cody had excessive drawling like I've never
- 15:23Speaker 6: seen so much drawl in my life. We've thought he'd
- 15:26Speaker 6: been bitten by a snake or had a tuthache or something.
- 15:29Speaker 6: So we got the vet out on a Sunday night.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I think on Sunday night you're feeling expensive already already
- 15:37Speaker 3: surcharge kitchen.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it was a two hundred dollars call
- 15:41Speaker 6: out female.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Jeez ell, no thanks jesus.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Yeah, So it turns out he was perfectly fine. He'd
- 15:48Speaker 6: watched me prep and start cooking a lambroe on.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Your dog was just hungry.
- 15:57Speaker 6: Yeah, it was too much for it, It was so much.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Well, you know what, mate, that's your own bloody fault.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You brought it on yourself. Stop being such a great cook.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And look, let's be honestly low key flex from Jess.
- 16:08Speaker 5: There.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, she's cooking a lamb roast. You know what she
- 16:10Speaker 3: could do though? If that's an issue. No more vet
- 16:13Speaker 3: call outs. If she goes and buys those three roosters,
- 16:15Speaker 3: oh god, yeah, she could just have chicken instead.
- 16:17Speaker 4: You need to let go of the roosters already, there
- 16:21Speaker 4: were already someone's cutlets.
- 16:22Speaker 3: It's my Hen's weekend, guys. Let me carry on the
- 16:26Speaker 3: chicken info.
- 16:26Speaker 1: It's been a very cock theme show. Yeah, hey, thanks, Jess.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I would love to hear more pet stories, only nice
- 16:36Speaker 1: ones though, So if you want to leave your story,
- 16:38Speaker 1: just hit us up on She's on the money on
- 16:40Speaker 1: our socials. But coming up next, we're going to save
- 16:43Speaker 1: you some money with some little sneaky tips, Victoria. You're
- 16:46Speaker 1: going to tell us how we can keep more bucks
- 16:49Speaker 1: in our bank accounts.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I'm good at this. I'm going to run out of
- 16:52Speaker 3: stuff though, So you guys are going to have to
- 16:54Speaker 3: start helping me out because I don't want us to
- 16:56Speaker 3: get fired.
- 16:57Speaker 1: No, mate, it's not called heese on the money. That
- 17:00Speaker 1: why it's called She's on the money.
- 17:02Speaker 2: It's not there on the money.
- 17:03Speaker 1: No, not there on the money. Guys. Everyone do this
- 17:08Speaker 1: seper save the Saturday, Victoria. You know, literally minutes away
- 17:14Speaker 1: from from leaving out into your little Hen's night. Whatever
- 17:17Speaker 1: is going to happen. I don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I don't know either. I'm kind of scared.
- 17:20Speaker 1: We're gonna make you do a little bit more work
- 17:22Speaker 1: look at me, because.
- 17:23Speaker 3: You need to give us some I wrote down my
- 17:25Speaker 3: tips on my phone and I didn't want to forget them.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I want you guys to think I'm really smart. But
- 17:30Speaker 3: do you remember playing the SIMS when you were young?
- 17:32Speaker 3: Of course, I wish I had a money hack as
- 17:33Speaker 3: good as like that Rosebud hack where you put in
- 17:36Speaker 3: like the cheat code and then bright Rosebud and then
- 17:38Speaker 3: it gives.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You two thousand dollars or mother load.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, mother Load. That was the other one. There
- 17:42Speaker 3: were a few others. I remember googling them and thinking
- 17:45Speaker 3: I was like a hacker. Turns out I'm not. That
- 17:47Speaker 3: was just how the game works.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I'm just going to walk into Commonwealth Bank and be
- 17:50Speaker 1: like mother Load, and if you don't give me millions
- 17:52Speaker 1: of dollars.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Do you reckon? There's a hack for that. They just
- 17:55Speaker 3: like start shooting hack.
- 17:56Speaker 1: No, all right, let's do some real actual money hacks.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Al right, So I've got three for you today. One
- 18:02Speaker 3: is an actual money hack. One is a mindset hack
- 18:04Speaker 3: because they're a little bit fluffy in this house, and
- 18:07Speaker 3: another one's about points. I'm not really a credit card
- 18:10Speaker 3: caind of Goal, but I do travel a lot for work.
- 18:13Speaker 3: As you guys know, I'm always between Melbourne City and
- 18:16Speaker 3: Brisbane because you know, I'm just totally popular. But I
- 18:19Speaker 3: always fly with Virgin one. I will have a very
- 18:22Speaker 3: long conversation with you if you'd like to, about how
- 18:24Speaker 3: their buffet is much better if you get to the
- 18:26Speaker 3: lounge than the quantas.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Oh you're preaching to the choir. I agree there, yeah, right.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Much better. But I'm not getting into the lounge because I,
- 18:34Speaker 3: you know, am flying business class that's not in the budget.
- 18:36Speaker 3: I'm getting into the lounge because I've flown so much.
- 18:39Speaker 3: But the perk here is actually me giving a shameless
- 18:42Speaker 3: plug to Virgin Australia at the moment. They actually have
- 18:45Speaker 3: double points at the moment, so like if you've got
- 18:47Speaker 3: a plan to book a holiday, you'll get double points
- 18:51Speaker 3: on eligible flights at the moment. That's a bit fluffy,
- 18:53Speaker 3: but it will get you into the lounge quicker, because
- 18:55Speaker 3: who doesn't want to travel domestically and be boushie enough to.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Go into the lounge.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Instagram and make it look like, yeah, you've got to
- 19:01Speaker 3: look like your fancy. So anyway, thought that that was
- 19:04Speaker 3: a pretty good little hack. The next one is the
- 19:07Speaker 3: money hack, I promised? Or do you want the mindset hack?
- 19:10Speaker 1: First?
- 19:10Speaker 5: Like?
- 19:10Speaker 3: What one do you want? Then you want the mindset?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Do you mind? Let's end on the money. Let's ke
- 19:14Speaker 2: the money. This is she's on the money, all right?
- 19:16Speaker 2: All right?
- 19:16Speaker 3: So I think a lot of us are really good
- 19:18Speaker 3: at frivolous spending. And one thing in this day and age,
- 19:22Speaker 3: I'm looking directly at you, Mitch Cherry. But one yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 3: you with your theorem and if you touched that.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Since you bought it, I forgot about the therapy.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah the theorem man. Come on, he's looking at me
- 19:34Speaker 3: like he forgot he owned the theoreman.
- 19:36Speaker 2: But what's what's a theremon?
- 19:37Speaker 4: Oh?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yes, you spend bcks on.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That's enough, move on, move on.
- 19:42Speaker 3: But I think in this day and age, where money
- 19:44Speaker 3: is less tangible, I'm not like handing over a CRISP
- 19:47Speaker 3: fifty and feeling like I'm getting less back. We tab
- 19:50Speaker 3: our debit cards, right, and it just doesn't feel like
- 19:53Speaker 3: we're losing that much. So I sometimes like to think
- 19:56Speaker 3: of my hours worked as the price of things. So
- 19:59Speaker 3: if you'll make like fifteen bucks an hour and something
- 20:02Speaker 3: costs forty five dollars, I think you need to start
- 20:05Speaker 3: reframing it and going that worth me working for three
- 20:08Speaker 3: whole hours.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Yeah, good point.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Like I think that puts things in context a little
- 20:12Speaker 3: bit that makes you reframe it, and for me, that's
- 20:15Speaker 3: a lot of money. Like, have a think about your
- 20:18Speaker 3: money in that context before making a purchase you didn't
- 20:21Speaker 3: necessarily need to make, because I think a lot of
- 20:24Speaker 3: you expect me to come on here and like, don't
- 20:26Speaker 3: buy your five dollar coffees, like you'll become a millionaire.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Unfortunately that's not the case. But little money habits and
- 20:33Speaker 3: little mindset shifts over time or what's going to create
- 20:36Speaker 3: a solid money mindset that puts you in the best
- 20:38Speaker 3: position to make bank. So the next money in our
- 20:41Speaker 3: back pocket tip comes for people who get paid, So
- 20:44Speaker 3: that's nice. I feel like it will work for all
- 20:46Speaker 3: of us around this table. Doesn't matter if you get
- 20:48Speaker 3: paid monthly, weekly, fortnightly, doesn't matter. However, the day before
- 20:53Speaker 3: you get paid, I want you to go in there
- 20:56Speaker 3: into your bank account and transfer all the money in
- 20:58Speaker 3: there out to your savings. So whatever's left over from
- 21:01Speaker 3: your last pay, pop that into a separate savings account
- 21:05Speaker 3: and start fresh. Obviously, make sure that you're covering your
- 21:07Speaker 3: bills and expenses and rent and stuff. But so many
- 21:10Speaker 3: of us frivolously spend and go, oh, well that was
- 21:13Speaker 3: from last pay. Doesn't matter.
- 21:15Speaker 2: You're right, I see it left over.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I'm like, that's that's left over money.
- 21:19Speaker 2: A little pre.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Exactly, I've got more money this way. Absolutely not. We
- 21:22Speaker 3: are transferred to our savings.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You would be doing, yeah, you would.
- 21:26Speaker 3: You would look at it and go all right, well
- 21:27Speaker 3: that's free money and now I have my pay in
- 21:30Speaker 3: my account. But that's such a Gloman mindset, right, So
- 21:32Speaker 3: let's shift it out to our savings and actually start
- 21:35Speaker 3: propping up our savings a bit more. And then, Mitch,
- 21:38Speaker 3: maybe you'll buy another theoremon.
- 21:40Speaker 2: No, no, I did. I did buy five hundred dollars
- 21:42Speaker 2: after shave this week. But at the end of the show,
- 21:43Speaker 2: so you smell.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Good, Yeah, it was like I haven't noticed it, so
- 21:46Speaker 3: it must not be that worth it.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Hey, Victoria, you've got to get out of here. I
- 21:51Speaker 1: do you are going? Are you going to have eyebrows
- 21:53Speaker 1: next week? That's what I'm worried about.
- 21:55Speaker 3: You know what, I definitely will because my eyebrows are
- 21:57Speaker 3: actually tattoos. Good luck shaving those off.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Wow, that is something I did not need to know
- 22:05Speaker 1: anyway until next week. You can catch up with us
- 22:07Speaker 1: anytime on Socials. Just search She's on the Money. Mitch,
- 22:10Speaker 1: you gotta stick around. You are on with Britton Laura
- 22:13Speaker 1: with the Life on Cut radio show. That's coming up next,
- 22:16Speaker 1: but this has been. She's on the Money for your
- 22:18Speaker 1: Saturday Morning next week.
