- 0:00Carmen Hecox: Have you ever been so busy taking care of everyone else that you forgot to take care of yourself? Today's guest, Martina Tisljar, knows exactly what that feels like. She ignored the quiet voice inside telling her to slow down, push through the exhaustion, and after a serious misdiagnosis and intense treatment, her body finally forced her to stop.
- 0:26Carmen Hecox: But what happened next changed everything. In this conversation, Martina shares how silence, surrender, breath, prayer, and trusting her inner voice helped her rebuild her health, reconnect with herself, and create a life that feels more aligned and peaceful. And stay with us because later she shares a story about forgetting her son's sandwiches on a school trip that may be one of the sweetest reminders that We don't have to carry everything alone. Let's get into this beautiful conversation with Martina.
- 1:03Carmen Hecox: Martina Tisljar, welcome to Create the Best Me.
- 1:07Carmen Hecox: This is an honor and a privilege to have you on the show.
- 1:12Martina Tisljar: Thank you so much, Carmen, for inviting me. It's an honor to be here.
- 1:17Carmen Hecox: So before we get into today's must-have conversation that I'm excited about, could you please tell the listeners and viewers a little bit about who Martina is and what she does.
- 1:29Martina Tisljar: Martina, me, I live in Croatia, uh, in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Currently I'm at the beautiful coast of Croatia, so We have beautiful, lovely weather and nice vibes. Uh, what I do, I'm an EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Master Trainer.
- 1:48Martina Tisljar: I'm also known as the Angel Whisperer in my region because I had this very deep spiritual experience 20 years ago when actually angels showed up in my room, and that changed me completely. So I have this ability to see things, feel things beyond what We see with our everyday sight, let's say that way. So I do a lot of workshops, a lot of one-on-one work, retreats . And recently I filmed a program on your inner voice in Oxford University, and I'm very excited about it because that's the topic I really like. It's intuition and owning it and really go for it.
- 2:38Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 2:41Carmen Hecox: And so the reason I invited you onto the show is exactly that. It is because I'd like for you to share your story. That awakened your ability to connect with yourself on a deeper level. And, you know, and from what I can see is you— this helped you discover who you are and make decisions that are more authentic to, to who, who you should be.
- 3:09Martina Tisljar: Exactly.
- 3:11Martina Tisljar: Like I said, there are 2 major events in my life that shaped me tremendously. It brought me to this moment now.
- 3:20Martina Tisljar: Like I said, 20 years ago when angels showed up in my room and 5 years ago when I was misdiagnosed, heavily treated for the condition I didn't have, and I almost died.
- 3:32Martina Tisljar: So that moment was devastating for me on many levels, not only because I was losing my health and my life, but also because I wasn't listening to my intuition. All started with me not feeling well. And I have to be honest, I was ignoring it a little bit. I was in this wheel of I have to do this, I should do this, I have to work. My work was depending on me showing up every day. I was a single mom at that period of time, and I just couldn't stop.
- 4:10Martina Tisljar: And I always had a lot of energy, a lot of strength in my, my body. So I was like, I'll be fine.
- 4:19Martina Tisljar: And then that voice became much stronger.
- 4:25Martina Tisljar: I felt it inside, like, slow down, take care of yourself more. And I knew that something is going on there. But like I had— like I said, I'm stubborn sometimes, and I just didn't listen. And One day I collapsed.
- 4:44Martina Tisljar: I fell on the floor. I couldn't stand up. And I realized I really have to go to visit the doctor.
- 4:51Martina Tisljar: And I went to the doctor and he did some tests and he told me, you have Lyme disease with overgrowth of other bacteria.
- 5:03Martina Tisljar: We have to go very aggressive with this. There is no other way. I have to put you on some very heavy antibiotics, some other medicines, supplements, etc.
- 5:14Martina Tisljar: In that moment, while he was telling me that, I knew that this is wrong. Like, everything inside me was screaming like, no, there has to be another way. This is not the way to go. This is too aggressive. And I just didn't feel it.
- 5:33Martina Tisljar: But in that moment, my mind was running wild. My husband my— he's a husband right now. At that time, he was my partner.
- 5:46Martina Tisljar: He was there in the office. He was very, very worried. The doctor, doctor keeps saying like, there's no other way, Martina, you have to do it. And like I said, I start to think about all of those things. Like, I have a son, I have to take care of him. If I don't do this, what will happen? And, you know, a little bit of a nightmare happened in my head. And instead of following what I knew is right for me, I gave in and I took the medication. And after a few weeks, I started to feel worse and worse and worse.
- 6:25Martina Tisljar: And I had to do some other tests and the tests came back bad. My liver started to fail, my kidneys, my thyroid, my blood tests were really, really bad. And I had to visit some other doctors. The prognoses were not good.
- 6:45Martina Tisljar: And in the moment when I visited the last one and she told me, girl, you're a goner with this, you're not going to survive the next cold. Carmen, I was done.
- 6:56Martina Tisljar: I was done in that moment. I wasn't even scared. I was angry, actually. I was angry at myself.
- 7:04Martina Tisljar: I was angry because I didn't listen. At the beginning, I just knew it was wrong. So then I decided to throw away all the medication, to shut down my phone, stop working, stop listening to everyone around me. And I paused and I became very, very silent. And I started to follow what my body was telling me, what my intuition was telling me.
- 7:34Martina Tisljar: I changed my diet. I start meditating like every day. I was doing all kinds of meditations, like walking meditations, cooking meditations, sitting, lying down meditations.
- 7:48Martina Tisljar: I noticed that when not only I use the tools that I already know, but when I really surrender that something is going on; something is different inside. And what I realize now, I wasn't aware of that back then.
- 8:11Martina Tisljar: What actually helped me and healed me in this process was total surrendering, was humbleness. I wasn't trying to do something. I wasn't trying to achieve something.
- 8:29Martina Tisljar: I was just quiet. I was sitting with myself, observing, noticing, and listening.
- 8:35Martina Tisljar: And then I realized how it's important to really listen, to really follow your intuition. But something else, it's very important there. I always had very strong intuition. After that event with angels, it got even bigger, stronger. But what I didn't have in that moment wasn't a lack of intuition. It was lack of energy, of strength to actually follow it.
- 9:09Martina Tisljar: And then I understood how is it important to really put yourself first. We all know the story about the oxygen masks in the airplane, right?
- 9:24Martina Tisljar: Put it on yourself first. But very often We don't live it, right? So I was doing the same with all of the knowledge, with all of this intuition I had. I was doing all of that work. I thought I was serving, but I was actually losing myself bit by bit. And thank God that I did stop, that I started to listen. And like I said, after a few months, I began to start feel better. I needed around 6 months to really feel again the strength that I can go out there again and start doing the work again. But I wasn't rushing.
- 10:11Martina Tisljar: I was much, much slower. And even today, everything I do, I will give myself time to really feel that next movement. I learned how to navigate my life from the place of peace and surrender and trust. And not following my fears, not allowing the control to steering the wheel. So that's the short version of a very long period of my life that taught me a lot.
- 10:51Carmen Hecox: Isn't that interesting that it took energy to slow down? It took energy to listen to yourself. And when you use that energy that you thought you didn't have, you gained much more energy than you started with because you said that you were completely fatigued.
- 11:17Martina Tisljar: Yeah, exactly. I was running on the low batteries, and in my mind I had like this idea of like, I don't have time to stop. I don't have time to do all of these things, you know, to make All of these smoothies, juices, to do the meditation, 1-hour meditation. And at the moment when somebody told me, your time is running out, I realized I have all the time in the world.
- 11:51Martina Tisljar: So sometimes we have to remind ourselves how necessary it is to stop, to start listening to honoring our bodies, our well-being. And I really hope that everyone who will listen to this will not have to be pushed to actually do it, but to really start doing the work every day. Like, for instance, we can put an alarm on our phone, like reminder, okay, this is my time to stop. This is my time for, I don't know, some kind of meditation, for some kind of breathwork, maybe for go out into nature, connect with somebody nice or something. It's essential for our well-being to allow ourselves to pause.
- 12:47Carmen Hecox: But I think that it's just part of being a woman. Part of being a woman is we, whether we have children or not, we are, I think, in our— it's ingrained in us that we are— We take care of everyone else, and we're the fixers. And if we don't do it, then who's going to do it? And so our priority becomes everyone else, and the heck with ourselves.
- 13:15Carmen Hecox: Because We'll do it later, you know, when We go on vacation, or, you know, when I go get my nails done, then I'll maybe go get some breath, you know, I'll incorporate some breathwork while somebody else is working on me. But We don't really do it because our mind's constantly thinking about the next thing.
- 13:31Martina Tisljar: Yes, you're so right.
- 13:34Martina Tisljar: We are so conditioned, like you said, especially we as a woman. We are brought up to be nurturing. But all of those ideas of shoulds and musts— I have to do this, I should do this, I must do this— they all come from inherited voices. Like that voice in our head, it's not ours. It's our family voices. It's our culture, our maybe religion sometimes.
- 14:08Martina Tisljar: It's not ours. And what is very, let's say, dangerous in this is that our should and our must sound as conscious.
- 14:21Martina Tisljar: It sounds like this is a good thing to do.
- 14:25Martina Tisljar: But when we allow ourselves to really start noticing those shoulds, those musts, we will be able to realize that, hmm, this voice is coming from somewhere else. It's coming from my past. It's coming from my Mother beliefs, my ancestors, who knows from where. And when we start noticing those voices and where are they come from, we can also notice the emotions attached to it. Behind all of that is, for instance, maybe the younger me that wants to belong. The younger me that learned how to survive with all of those adaptations. So the good thing is We can do something about it. We can change it because it's not ours from the first place.
- 15:32Martina Tisljar: So when we noticing and when we realize, okay, from where does it coming from? From maybe it's my mother's voice. Okay.
- 15:40Martina Tisljar: When I look behind, when I look under all of these emotions, the thoughts, who is it there?
- 15:48Martina Tisljar: Who am I? And then We can tap into more authentic, more truthful ourselves.
- 15:58Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 16:02Martina Tisljar: And then We can heal. And then we can tap also into self-trust, because I truly do believe that the self-trust is coming from the intimacy of who we are. So when We know ourselves, then we're okay, right?
- 16:25Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 16:25Martina Tisljar: There are not roles anymore. There's no some false identity.
- 16:31Martina Tisljar: That We are trying to chase, that We are trying to hold on to. And we are not losing our self-energy anymore with holding all of those identities, the roles we think that are serving us.
- 16:46Martina Tisljar: The truth is we don't have to world will not fall apart if We stop and realize, hmm, I had put it aside for a while. And actually give myself time to breathe, to slow down and feel myself again. And that will bring the energy back home.
- 17:09Martina Tisljar: That will bring the self-trust back home. That will open up our intuition.
- 17:17Martina Tisljar: And we allow ourselves to start hearing ourselves, to start believing what It was always there, our life start changing. I was witnessing that in my own life, with, in life of my clients.
- 17:36Martina Tisljar: And it's not easy, but it's simple.
- 17:41Martina Tisljar: It is simple. But We have to show up. We have to do the work. It's not always easy. Sometimes it is.
- 17:49Martina Tisljar: But many times, We have to do the work, right?
- 17:50Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 17:54Carmen Hecox: And let me ask you a question because I kind of had a similar situation, I don't know, 20 years ago where I was working really hard and the harder I worked, the more it seemed like I failed. And it took an event, a big event, to make me stop. And when I stopped, I did a little different. I started because, you know, because of my religious beliefs or because I'm a Christian, I immersed myself into reading the Bible.
- 18:24Carmen Hecox: And when I focused more time on reading and less time on trying to produce these shoulds, I must and shoulds, I became more successful and I worked less. Did you real— did the same thing happen to you?
- 18:40Martina Tisljar: Same thing happened to me. That, that's the part that many just don't get it because it's hard. We believe that We have to do a lot to achieve something. We believe that We have to hustle to have something in our lives.
- 19:02Martina Tisljar: But the secret ingredient is, like I said, surrendering. And it comes with humbleness when you realize I'm not a doer here. If I stop controlling things, somebody else can show up for me.
- 19:21Martina Tisljar: For you, it was Bible, right?
- 19:26Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 19:26Martina Tisljar: You— I don't know what happened with you inside, but in my meditations, when I connect with my angels, source, God, We all have our ways to do it. Of course, prayer is a beautiful way to connect. With the divine, then they realize that somebody is taking care of us already, that We don't have to do everything.
- 19:51Martina Tisljar: And like you said, when we realize that, things started to happen. Synchronicities started to come and some new people to show up in our lives. And sometimes I'm in awe, you know, like, wow, how did this happen? I, I didn't do anything and it happened.
- 20:11Martina Tisljar: We just have to show up. Of course, when opportunity comes, We have to do the work. Sometimes We have to go out of our comfort zone. It's not always easy, but We are taken care of in every second of our life. And when we realize that, life becomes much more easier. I believe that is something happened to you.
- 20:35Carmen Hecox: It is. It is. Because I, I thought, oh my goodness. I was sharing this with a friend not too long ago. I said, you know what, I used to really— I used to work 7 days a week and never had a day off. And I would work like 12-hour days. And I was exhausted, incredibly exhausted. But I had to, I had to. I must, my shoulds, I had to do it, do it. And then when I was forced to stop because I had an accident. I had an accident that physically slowed me down.
- 21:09Martina Tisljar: Mm.
- 21:09Carmen Hecox: And then I focus, you know, I surrendered and I put my focus somewhere else. And I was working 20 hours a week, 4 days a week. So very short days. And, you know, and it almost scared me because I'm like, How is it that I am doing less and producing more? And it almost just seemed scary.
- 21:36Martina Tisljar: Mm-hmm.
- 21:36Carmen Hecox: Scary, eerie. But it's like you said, I humbled myself to stop trying to do what society says I should do in order to produce results. And I learned to trust myself in the, you know, in doing this, I realized that I have the talent, I have the gifts. They're all right in here. They're in here.
- 22:10Martina Tisljar: Exactly. It is scary because it's different. It's different from what We are used to, from what they have taught us. Like, like We learned so many things that are just, let's say this, wrong, right? We don't have to do all of this. And it's scary. I, I can totally relate to it. I remember at the beginning when I decided to completely slow down, like my mind was like, no, but you have to go back, like you have to do the work. And I was like, breathing through it. It, it wasn't easy. I had to remind myself, no, I'm here and now everything is okay. I don't have to rush into it. I really— it's allowed for me to feel what's the right move for me, what's the next right move for me. And little by little, even today, I have to admit, sometimes it's scary. even today, like, especially when some bigger things come, like bigger opportunities. And then the old self sometimes is like, oh, now you have to do the work. Now you have to do this. Now you have to do that. And then I'm okay. Then I again, pause, breathe through this. And I have to remind myself, okay, it's not the way.
- 23:35Martina Tisljar: So with doing the work, showing up for yourself every day and reminding yourself of what is really important, we can really embody that totally. So that even in the situations where it can be overwhelmed and we live on a planet Earth, it's normal, right? Some situations will be overwhelmed, but after a while, our body already knows. Like in the past, my body knew only this struggle, this fight and flight or freeze, my nervous system had only one reality. And when We start to change things, it's almost like an addiction, right? Our body is addicted to doing and running on cortisol.
- 24:31Martina Tisljar: It's addiction of cortisol, right? And when we decide to change things, it's like with addiction.
- 24:39Martina Tisljar: It's hard. We have to teach our body, do the emotional and mental energetical detox, and then we are opening the door for something different, for something new, for new information to land.
- 24:59Martina Tisljar: And sometimes We need tools for it. In one moment of my life when I actually started doing my work, my self-esteem was pretty low. I was kind of scared of everything, of like doing the work with people, to show up, to stand on a stage. For me, it was like, uh-uh, no, not for me. And then I realized, okay, I need something. I need something to back me up, to create more resilience. And I was introduced to EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. That helped me a lot.
- 25:43Martina Tisljar: Afterwards, I was doing the Matrix Reimprinting and I actually became a trainer. It helped me a lot. But during that period, after that diagnosis and my health crisis, I realized that I need something even more gentler. I was using EFT, but I went even deeper. I combined my tapping with meditation, with breathwork. And I realized that when I do this more quietly, more gently, and when I invite my guides, when I invite God in the equation, oh my God, I have so much better results and I love it.
- 26:42Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm.
- 26:42Martina Tisljar: And then I did this mix of tapping, meditation, of breathing.
- 26:50Martina Tisljar: And I created something I like to call MediTap.
- 26:54Martina Tisljar: So spirituality was always very important for me. Like I said, I realized that with— without God in the equation, it's very hard to do anything.
- 27:10Carmen Hecox: Mm-hmm. That is very true. And that's something that I tell everyone, whether they want to hear it or not.
- 27:18Carmen Hecox: You know, you plant that seed, you know, whatever you believe in, you know, do, you know, do it with what you believe. And there's so much— you have so much more power.
- 27:30Martina Tisljar: Yes.
- 27:30Carmen Hecox: Martina, did you— have you noticed that— because this is something that I notice as we, as we women, we get older, and we start either our journey into perimenopause or menopause, this sense of quieting yourself becomes way more important and way harder to do.
- 27:55Martina Tisljar: Yes, it makes sense. It's harder because of all of those things We are used to doing every day, every day. And like I said, I'm going to repeat myself, We became addicted to it, right? And we, we believe that it's the right way to do. Like I said, all of those things sounds like conscience, like sounds like the right thing to do. And of course, if we have that moment of awakening, and when we understand, oh my God, this is not working for me, Like, who am I?
- 28:33Martina Tisljar: What am I doing? Like, how will I survive with all of these balls in the air? Then we start to question everything.
- 28:45Martina Tisljar: And if we are lucky, we're gonna have a crisis.
- 28:49Martina Tisljar: we're gonna have something like a dark— what's that word? A dark moment of the soul.
- 28:58Martina Tisljar: Is that the right expression?
- 28:59Carmen Hecox: I think so.
- 28:59Martina Tisljar: Something like that, right?
- 29:02Martina Tisljar: If we are lucky, we're gonna go through it because that crisis is giving us opportunity to question everything and to start changing things and give us opportunity to make different choices day by day, little by little.
- 29:22Martina Tisljar: And if we are determined, to change something. If we show up for ourselves every day, universe, God, life will respond. The opportunities will come. Maybe someday some book will fall from the shelf and you will take the book and you will find the answer there.
- 29:48Martina Tisljar: Maybe someday you will go to the grocery shop and somebody will say something that will actually help you.
- 29:57Martina Tisljar: And those moments are the moments we have to celebrate, not only like run through them, ignore them.
- 30:05Martina Tisljar: So yeah, what comes, let's say, around 50, maybe earlier for some, later for some, it's— I believe we begin to allow ourselves to find who we are because the time is running out and we are tired. We run on the low batteries and we don't want that anymore. And the moment we decide to change something, answer will come. For me, it was some different kind of method. It was some different approach. Some new people came into my life. I reinvented everything. For somebody else will be something else. Maybe some— someone will find that solacement in praying every day, and it can be beautiful.
- 30:59Carmen Hecox: How do you work with people to encourage them to slow down if the answer comes when you slow down?
- 31:10Martina Tisljar: First, I believe that there's no other way than tell someone the truth.
- 31:18Martina Tisljar: Like, if you don't show up for yourself, if you don't change something— like, same ingredients when you do the cake, you will have the same cake every day. If you want something different, you have to change ingredients, right? So if we really want to change something in our life, We have to become determined. We have to really want it.
- 31:46Martina Tisljar: And if we are very clear about it, determined about it, then we're going to show up. Like I said, for some, somebody will have to put, I don't know, many Post-its all over the place, or someone will put an alarm to remind themselves, okay, this is my time for be more quiet, maybe my time for a prayer, maybe my time for a walk or something. So like I said at the beginning, let's be honest. Like, there is this beautiful saying about insanity.
- 32:21Martina Tisljar: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results.
- 32:29Martina Tisljar: So let's commit to that. Let's commit to change something. Let's commit to show up for ourselves. For, for some people, when they come into the treatment, I always ask them, are you willing to really do this work?
- 32:48Martina Tisljar: If you are just here to explore, okay, let's do one session and let's see what will happen. Hmm.
- 32:56Martina Tisljar: Maybe I'm not the right person for you. But if you are really here, and willing to commit, let's do the work.
- 33:05Carmen Hecox: And I think that is very important, is to begin with honesty right off the bat. What are you willing to change? Because if you're not, then come back when you are.
- 33:16Martina Tisljar: Yes, exactly. And that's okay. And that's okay for some, maybe they are not ready, but honesty can change everything.
- 33:24Martina Tisljar: Because if somebody is actually fully honest with themselves, okay, I'm not ready for the change.
- 33:31Martina Tisljar: Then, okay, I can see what can I do better in this situation I'm in.
- 33:40Martina Tisljar: Okay, when the moment We accept the truth, everything changes, right?
- 33:48Martina Tisljar: even if its circumstances are not like super nice. But the moment we realize, okay, I don't want to change this right now, I don't have energy, I don't I don't have what it takes to change it.
- 34:03Martina Tisljar: Okay, then I better accept that this is my reality and my day will look like this. Like every of my days will look like this. And even with that, something can change only because somebody admitting themselves, okay, this is the way it is. And very often even those kind of people, they decide to actually do the work. But like I said, it's not easy always.
- 34:33Martina Tisljar: Sometimes it's super quick when we are right for the change, when We are ready. Sometimes it's really quick. But sometimes We need months. Sometimes We need more than a year to really feel that We are embodying something completely different. And sometimes we don't know even how to measure the changes because I'm going to share this.
- 35:03Martina Tisljar: It was a recent conversation with, with a friend of mine.
- 35:07Martina Tisljar: She is, um, uh, in the cosmetic industry, and she was telling me that when somebody change something on their faces. For instance, you have some nice treatment and maybe that gives you more glow and something good happens with your face and your wrinkles.
- 35:33Martina Tisljar: And after like a few days, you don't see the change anymore. You don't see it like it's almost for you; you were at the beginning.
- 35:45Martina Tisljar: So it's the same with the inner work, with energetic work, emotional work, or mental work. Like, you have progress.
- 35:56Martina Tisljar: And we as human beings, we are so used to take things for granted, and it becomes very normal, and we don't celebrate those moments of change. And then very often we are in the moments of, this is not working for me, it's not fast enough or something. So what I also realize in, in any kind of work with ourselves, let's celebrate those moments of change. It doesn't matter how small the step is. With those celebrations and reminding ourselves that we are doing it, that we are going to a better place, we can actually help ourselves and our energy will stay in the right place for the next step. So like I said, it really is all about showing up for yourself. Again and again and again. And one day, we can experience something as we perceive as a miracle.
- 37:12Carmen Hecox: But I think another thing that I wanted to point out here is that, like, I was having a conversation with one of my friends, and I said, you know, because I was a single mom, seems like I was born a single mom. That's how I feel.
- 37:26Carmen Hecox: But I was a single mom for over 21 years. And I My daughter, my oldest daughter, one time said, Mom, how in the world did you do it?
- 37:33Carmen Hecox: How did you raise 2 kids? How did you manage to put yourself through college, graduate from college, and purchase a home all by yourself? How did you do that?
- 37:41Martina Tisljar: Wow.
- 37:41Carmen Hecox: And so I reflect back on that and I was telling one of my friends, I said, you know, I think about how is it that I did this and some of the tasks that I want to do today seem complex.
- 37:55Carmen Hecox: But I can't use the same formula that I used way back then because I'm a different person now and it's not going to work. Just like you had mentioned that you had practiced EFT for a period of time. Yeah. And you found that when you received this diagnosis that you were ill, that EFT was not enough. It was not getting you to where you needed to get.
- 38:21Carmen Hecox: And so you dove deep into yourself, explored and found other things that you needed to integrate into your practice to help slow yourself down so that you can get more deeply connected with yourself.
- 38:37Martina Tisljar: Exactly. Thank you for saying this. Yes, I love EFT. I really love EFT. It was one method that helped me a lot, changed my life. EFT is— most of the work with EFT is finding the root cause, going through the memory and memory and memory, and trying to find the one that is actually the root cause of what you are experiencing in the moment.
- 39:11Martina Tisljar: And it's beautiful work. But in that moment, I was like, just not feeling it. For me, it was like, I'm not gonna say too much work, but it was like, doing and doing it. Almost like I had a feeling it's, it's running. And, and I had this feeling, I'm again in this circle of doing more work. And my body couldn't handle it.
- 39:39Martina Tisljar: My emotions, I was just not in a place to do it. And then I went out in the nature. I start breathing, just noticing my breath. And in some moments, I would touch the points We use in EFT. I didn't even do the tapping. When you use EFT, you tap on specific points on your body. I wasn't even doing this. I I wanted to be more gentle with myself. I was touching those points. I was massaging those points. I was breathing. I was present with myself. And in one moment, I start to invite the angels. I ask God, please help me. I don't know how to deal with this.
- 40:30Martina Tisljar: It's a lot. And the change was there.
- 40:33Martina Tisljar: And it was so easy. I remember first time when I had a very deep experience with this approach. I actually, I was experiencing a very heavy physical pain in my hip.
- 40:49Martina Tisljar: I don't know what happened today. I felt this pain and it didn't want to go away. And I couldn't sleep.
- 40:57Martina Tisljar: So I was like, okay, let me just breathe through it, through it. Let let's do some small, gentle tapping.
- 41:07Martina Tisljar: And I was connecting with my body, with the breath, with the energy of the pain. I asked my angels to come to help me. And the pain was gone, like completely gone. And in that moment, I wasn't even like super surprised. I was and I wasn't at the same time. So I wasn't putting too much of attention into it. But the second time, very similar thing happened. It was all also a pain, physical pain. I got burned. Um, the water from the iron splashed my hand and I had a very severe burn on my hand. And I was fine during the day, but again, when I wanted to go to sleep, the pain was pulsating and it was horrible.
- 42:01Martina Tisljar: And again, I sit with myself. I did some tapping, breathing. I invited my angels. I, I went all in. And it was a very meditative process. I felt all of my body, all of the energy inside me around me. And in one moment, the pain was completely gone. And what was amazing, I fell asleep like a baby. The next day when I woke up, I was like, okay, here it's something much deeper than I thought. So then I started to explore it more. I started to do it with my clients. And I remember even in in one training, I have to say this. I, as a trainer, EFT trainer, I do trainings. I teach people how to use EFT. And during the training, We usually do the demos with the participants. And it's always nice.
- 43:06Martina Tisljar: They have nice breakthroughs. And that day, for some reason, I said to the lady I had the demo with, I said to her, let's do something different. And I apologize to the whole group. Like, I'm not doing like a proper EFT right now, but my intuition is telling me like, do it. And I did it.
- 43:30Martina Tisljar: And the change in her was so palpable that We all could see it.
- 43:37Martina Tisljar: Like, everybody came to me after and like, what did you actually do? And I was like, I'm exploring this thing that works for me. And then I started to do the work with— in one-on-one with one-on-one clients. And it's beautiful. It's magical.
- 43:57Martina Tisljar: It's much gentler. And you can combine with all the other techniques, modalities. And it's actually very simple as well.
- 44:08Carmen Hecox: Simple, but it's not. Yeah.
- 44:12Carmen Hecox: Because I think the hardest part is surrendering to get to the simplicity.
- 44:21Martina Tisljar: Yes, you said it very, very nicely. You know what, Carmen, I, I believe that the simplicity is a reflection of God's love towards us.
- 44:35Martina Tisljar: And everything that it's not simple, it's our mind, it's our ego trying to figure out things, trying to do things. So yeah, let's peel away everything that is disconnecting us from the simplicity of life.
- 44:56Carmen Hecox: And I'll share something. My daughter came to me, she, my 13-year-old, she came to me and she was like, concerned.
- 45:03Carmen Hecox: She had a concern. And I said, you know, Jasmine, you're concerned about this.
- 45:11Carmen Hecox: Put your trust in God because you trust God. And I said, because way before any of us came into this world, God already had it all ironed out. And so you just need to sit back and put your trust where your faith is at.
- 45:26Carmen Hecox: And she was able to sleep that night.
- 45:27Martina Tisljar: Beautiful. She's so lucky to have you as a mom.
- 45:34Martina Tisljar: She's so lucky.
- 45:35Carmen Hecox: Thank you.
- 45:35Martina Tisljar: That actually reminded— I, I will share. I didn't plan to share this story, but now that you said, when you shared the story with your daughter. When my son was the first year of school, he was 6. I was a single mom then.
- 45:57Martina Tisljar: And I forgot that they have some kind of excursion. And I forgot to put like sandwiches and water and juices for him. And when we got to the school, and I saw a bus in front of it, and I was like, oh my God, I completely forgot, I didn't pack anything for him. And I was almost like, okay, bye-bye. Have a nice day.
- 46:24Martina Tisljar: And you know, I pretend nothing happened. And I just let him go. And I was sitting in the car. In one moment, I felt like, oh my God, I'm the worst mother ever. How could I forget? And then I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not going there. And I said, like, angels, God, please take care of my son. I forgot, I wasn't present enough. Please, it's your child as well. Take care of him. And I came back and I picked him up. He came into the car quite angry. Like, first I asked him, how was your day? It was nice. But Mother, you forgot, you forgot my sandwiches, you forgot everything. And I was like, okay, but were you hungry? And he said, of course I wasn't hungry. I had sandwiches somebody gave me, somebody gave me this, somebody gave me that. And I was like, okay, were thirsty?
- 47:21Martina Tisljar: And he was like, no, of course not. I had juices, I had water, teachers gave me this, some friends gave me that. And I'm like, see, you were taken care of. God is taking care of you every single day. Mom can forget things, but God will never forget.
- 47:40Carmen Hecox: mmm.
- 47:40Martina Tisljar: And he was like, like, a little bit confused. But I was like, It must land it somewhere. It will land it.
- 47:52Carmen Hecox: It's true. Amen to that. Yeah.
- 47:55Carmen Hecox: Martina, where can people learn more about you and even begin to work with you?

- 48:57Carmen Hecox: Martina, for that woman who says, I don't have time, I don't have time, my life is too busy, I'm a very busy high-performing woman, what are 3 pieces of advice that you would give her so that she can become more connected with herself? Well, one, silence herself, become more connected with yourself, and become more productive than what she's burning out, burning the candle on both ends to achieve.
- 49:28Martina Tisljar: What I would suggest first, breathe. Okay? Like, stop and breathe for 5 minutes, for a minute, just like be present with yourself and try to breathe the way that your inhale will be shorter than your exhale.
- 49:51Martina Tisljar: When you, when we do that, we calm our nervous system down, we became more quiet, and it will help us. It can even help us to meditate better. Use the tools you know.
- 50:07Martina Tisljar: Don't waste your knowledge. Like, don't waste your knowledge. Like, if you know something that is helpful, like tapping or something else, use it. Try to use it daily. Go in nature. Connect with not only nature, connect with spirit, with angels, with God. Pray.
- 50:30Martina Tisljar: Whatever will help you to not only slow down, but to realize that everything is happening on its own already.
- 50:42Martina Tisljar: And when you pause, you can open the door for something bigger than you to do the work, and you can be beautifully surprised. So it's worth it.
- 50:55Carmen Hecox: Great advice.
- 50:59Carmen Hecox: Great advice. Martina, thank you so much for coming on the show. I will include links to your website so that people can connect with you, follow you on Instagram, and most importantly, start your program and get— take advantage of those 3 months free membership.
- 51:18Martina Tisljar: Thank you so much, Carmen. This is This was beautiful. This was beautiful. I really enjoy your presence, your energy, and beautiful. Thank you so much.
- 51:30Carmen Hecox: Thank you so much. Wasn't that such a beautiful reminder? Martina's story shows us that sometimes the things we think we don't have time for— the pause, the breath, the prayer, the quiet moment— is actually the very thing that helps us come back to ourselves. And I love the story she shared about forgetting her son's sandwich because yes, as moms, as women, as caregivers, we can feel like we are supposed to remember everything, fix everything, and hold everything together. But that story was such a sweet reminder that we are supported, we are guided, And we do not have to carry every single thing alone. So here's one simple action step from today's conversation.
- 52:25Carmen Hecox: Sometime this week, set a reminder on your phone for 5 quiet minutes. When it goes off, stop, breathe, and make your exhale longer than your inhale. Then ask yourself, what is my next right move, not the pressure move, the true one. If this conversation spoke to your heart, please subscribe, leave a review, or share it with a woman who needs permission to slow down and trust herself again.
