- 0:01Continuation of the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke At that
- 0:05time Jesus spoke to his disciples this parable.
- 0:11There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and the same was
- 0:15accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
- 0:20And he called them and said to him, How is it that I hear this
- 0:24of thee? Give an account of thy
- 0:26stewardship, for now thou canst be steward no longer.
- 0:32And the steward said within himself, What shall I do?
- 0:36Because my Lord taketh away from me the stewardship to dig.
- 0:41I am not able to beg. I am ashamed.
- 0:46I know what I will do, that when I shall be removed from the
- 0:50stewardship they may receive me into their houses.
- 0:54Therefore, calling together every one of his Lord's debtors,
- 0:58he said to the first, How much dost thou owe, my Lord?
- 1:03But he said, 100 barrels of oil. And he said to him, Take thy
- 1:09bill, and sit down quickly and write, 50.
- 1:12Then he said to another, And How much dost thou owe, Who said a
- 1:17hundred quarters of wheat? He said to him, Take thy bill
- 1:21and write, 80 And the Lord commended the unjust steward for
- 1:27as much as he had done wisely. For the children of this world
- 1:32are wiser in their generation than the children of light.
- 1:37And I say to you, Make unto you friends of the Mammon of
- 1:41iniquity, that when you shall fail, they may receive you into
- 1:46everlasting dwellings.
