- 0:18royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi. It's Adam here and in this.
- 0:41Hypnosis session you can be listening.
- 0:43To a weight. Loss hypnosis session.
- 0:46About the essence of food, now you can think about food as.
- 0:52A source of pleasure, source of joy, a source of sustenance.
- 0:56But when you think. About food in a certain.
- 0:59Way it becomes. Natural for you to overeat and
- 1:03when you think about food. In a different way, you start
- 1:07eating in such a way where your body gets healthier.
- 1:10And you get. More vitality.
- 1:14So this is a hypnosis session. Where you will start.
- 1:17To think about food as fuel, as medicine.
- 1:21As a source. Of vitality rather.
- 1:24Than. Just something to snack on if
- 1:27you feel peckish. So I would encourage you to
- 1:31enable. You to get real value from this.
- 1:33Hypnosis session is to think about what is your fundamental.
- 1:37Belief about food and if for. You food is what matters most is
- 1:42taste. And enjoyment and pleasure.
- 1:45This will be even more beneficial.
- 1:47Because if we can shift that to the primary.
- 1:50Belief. System about food being fuel and
- 1:54food being medicine. This could be transformative for
- 1:58you. Now it's going to work better
- 2:00for those people that either have an unhealthy relationship
- 2:04with food. Or that are overweight.
- 2:06So if that. Feels like you you're going to
- 2:08get. More value.
- 2:09From this session and if you like the idea of working with
- 2:12me. Directly rather than.
- 2:14Listening to a recording that was done for.
- 2:15Someone else? Have a look.
- 2:17In the. Show notes because there is a
- 2:19link to a suitability test and also a link to a webinar for
- 2:23you. To find out if hypnotherapy is.
- 2:25Going to be right for you. For now, though, find a quiet.
- 2:29Comfortable place where you. Won't be distracted or
- 2:31disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 3:04Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 3:15resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 3:20And as you exhale, feel a wonderful feeling of release, as
- 3:31if any tension, any stress, any worries, or slowly and gradually
- 3:43leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 3:54When you breathe in, breathe in slightly deeper than you
- 3:57normally would, and as you exhale, just allow that outward
- 4:07breath to continue like a release valve, letting out any
- 4:18stresses and strains, fatigue and drains.
- 4:22Just allow it to leave your body, and with every breath you
- 4:30take and every exhale, perhaps you can feel yourself drifting a
- 4:36little deeper, a little further down into the most comfortable.
- 4:45Most peaceful state. Of relaxation that is possible
- 4:53for you to experience now. And maybe you can notice the
- 5:01weight of your body, your arms and your legs.
- 5:06Just feel it settling and sinking as every muscle
- 5:11releases, every joint softens, every part of you that has been
- 5:21holding on simply let's go. And I wonder if you can notice
- 5:31how safe it feels to simply be here right now.
- 5:40Nothing to do, nowhere to be. Just you and this deep,
- 5:49beautiful stillness. And as I countdown from 5 to 1,
- 5:56I want you to imagine drifting to a safe place.
- 6:04This may be a safe place in your imagination, a memory where you
- 6:10felt safe, or perhaps a place you know well that feels safe
- 6:20for you. So let's take you to that place
- 6:23now. 5 drifting deeper down. 4 floating off in your imagination
- 6:33to that place. Three, your unconscious mind is
- 6:40taking you there. 2 Somewhere that feels entirely safe. 1A
- 6:51place that's entirely yours. That's it.
- 6:54Find yourself arriving in that place, and maybe it's a place
- 7:03from a memory or somewhere your imagination simply creates right
- 7:09now. But begin to.
- 7:13Notice this place with all of your senses.
- 7:22Maybe there's a temperature or colours, a texture, perhaps
- 7:30sounds or smells. Just connect to that place.
- 7:40This is your place. Nothing can harm you here.
- 7:47No old feeling can touch you without your permission.
- 7:53You are completely and utterly safe, and perhaps we'll travel
- 8:04back and visit some old memories.
- 8:12But these are. Just memories the adult you, the
- 8:18wise, knowing, capable you. You are here in your safe place.
- 8:27It's just your thoughts going back to a memory, perhaps to
- 8:33look at what caused old beliefs and see them through a new lens
- 8:40now. And I want you to imagine.
- 8:50Imagine a river that represents time.
- 8:57Forwards is the future, and down, up the current, upstream.
- 9:05This is your past. This is the river of your life,
- 9:14and every memory, every experience, every moment that
- 9:20has shaped you lives along the banks of this river.
- 9:29And we're going to travel back along this river, not to relive
- 9:34anything painful, but to see it with new eyes, with all of the
- 9:43wisdom and knowledge you now have.
- 9:47Those old stories will have a different connotation.
- 9:57And maybe you can find a memory where someone was offering
- 10:03something sweet like candy or sweets, and you were running
- 10:10down a hill, perhaps to find it. And I want you to observe the
- 10:19facial expression of that child. There wasn't any intention other
- 10:30than to seek out something pleasurable.
- 10:38No need for guilt. No need for shame.
- 10:43In fact, notice the joy because that younger version of you
- 10:49didn't realize them. These sweet things can be
- 10:57addictive, can be destructive. It was just pure innocence back
- 11:04then. But I want you to focus on the
- 11:09wanting. Perhaps afterwards there was
- 11:13guilt, criticism. But I want you to tell that
- 11:21younger version of you it's fine to want.
- 11:31She was a child, a healthy, alive, completely normal child.
- 11:39Just wanted something sweet on a sunny day.
- 11:47So now, with all that you know, I want you to walk toward her.
- 11:55Let her see you. Let her know that someday she
- 12:01will grow into someone who understands something, something
- 12:09that her mother couldn't quite teach her.
- 12:18That wanting is not the same as taking.
- 12:23Desire is not the same. Hunger is not the same as greed.
- 12:37It's fine to want. There's nothing wrong with
- 12:42wanting, but true discernment comes from the intelligence of
- 12:50knowing what it is that you do want.
- 12:58Because there's a part within you that wants health and
- 13:04vitality and happiness. Then visit a memory.
- 13:16But that younger version of you was sneaky, eating a chocolate
- 13:24bar in secrecy. The fear of judgement, of
- 13:34criticism, of shame. And what if those young
- 13:42childhood memories paradoxically increased your desire because it
- 13:53was forbidden, It wasn't allowed.
- 13:58Somehow it made it more appealing.
- 14:05So go back to that child that was eating that chocolate and
- 14:18ask why do you want this? And just listen to the words.
- 14:47Perhaps a new idea as to what is truly desirable.
- 14:56Now we need to visit a memory where you saw the echoes of
- 15:04scarcity, the ripples of a aftermath of starvation.
- 15:15Wouldn't it be natural for someone that had starved to feel
- 15:23a desire to link happiness and joy to the very natural activity
- 15:31of eating? That unconsciously food became
- 15:39safety, but it was too broad. All food, even sweet, refined,
- 15:53processed food. All of that was happiness and
- 15:58safety. Except it wasn't.
- 16:05Your parents had good intentions, strongly held
- 16:12values, but you are not living their story.
- 16:21You're not in the aftermath of poverty, living with the trauma
- 16:29of starvation. What happened to them doesn't
- 16:39need to ripple into your life. And I want you to imagine now.
- 16:51Now is the time to find a better shield.
- 16:59Find the place on the riverbank where a version of you picked up
- 17:04a shield, a layer of fat to protect.
- 17:12And it kind of worked for a while.
- 17:21But what if that was not the best shield?
- 17:27What if strength, vitality, energy and confidence is a
- 17:32better shield? I want you to meet that version
- 17:38of you, a teenager. Tell them there's a better
- 17:43shield. Discernment is a better shield.
- 17:53Confidence is a better shield. That version of you doesn't need
- 18:02to hide behind body fat and feel that rippling from your past to
- 18:12your present. Tell that younger version of you
- 18:20that you are a warrior, a formidable warrior.
- 18:27And a warrior doesn't need extra weight to be formidable.
- 18:33It's their character, their standards, their wisdom and
- 18:38their strength that makes a warrior formidable.
- 18:43It's what they carry inside. That's what makes them strong.
- 18:51And if you can see that teenage version of you putting down that
- 18:58shield and ready to embrace a stronger, more powerful shield,
- 19:05let me know by nodding your head.
- 19:08That's it. And in doing so, it's time to
- 19:16plant new trees, new beliefs, new ideas there on the riverbank
- 19:23in your past. And these aren't rules.
- 19:32They're not restrictions, not chores or obligations that you
- 19:37have to do or not do. Consider these truths, your
- 19:44truths, and ones that deep down your body already knows.
- 19:52Because your body already knows them, your mind and body will
- 19:59accept them. So imagine finding a place on
- 20:05the riverbank to plant a tree. A tree that represents A belief
- 20:12that good food is fuel and bad food is fatigue.
- 20:21Maybe you imagine yourself as an extraordinary machine.
- 20:29Every machine requires fuel, and the quality of the fuel
- 20:35determines the quality of the performance.
- 20:40And when you eat food powered by sunshine and rainwater, whole
- 20:46proteins, colourful vegetables, clean fats, your body has
- 20:52exactly what it needs to run cleanly, efficiently and
- 20:59powerfully. Energy that sustains and clarity
- 21:07that stays. And bad food.
- 21:15That's the food that's been meddled with.
- 21:19Food made in a laboratory, Refined flour and refined sugar.
- 21:25Find everything. Your body thinks it's food, but
- 21:34it's just a product masquerading as food.
- 21:40The fatigue that follows is not a coincidence.
- 21:44It's the evidence that it's bad food and you know, fatigue, and
- 21:56now you know how to reduce it. Whole natural foods give you
- 22:03energy and fuel, and the processed foods, the convenience
- 22:10foods is like a Leech draining it from you.
- 22:20Consider every time you choose good food as a gift, you're
- 22:26giving yourself. At every age you've ever been a
- 22:35gift, you're giving yourself as a child, as a teenager, as an
- 22:45adult. You're giving yourself a gift
- 22:51and see that tree already starting to sprout.
- 22:56Good food is fuel, bad food is fatigue.
- 23:02And let's plant the second tree there in the riverbank in your
- 23:07past. Good food is medicine.
- 23:13Bad food is poison. You know that's true already.
- 23:23There are people, people that eat good quality natural foods
- 23:34brimming with vitality even late into their life.
- 23:42And there are people sick and sore.
- 23:50And I want you to get a sense that that food, processed food,
- 24:00often contains 3 white poisons, salt, sugar, refined flour,
- 24:12sometimes just one, and sometimes all three.
- 24:23And I want you to get a sense that your body is naturally
- 24:29designed to heal. It just needs the right
- 24:33ingredients to do what it naturally does every day.
- 24:40It manages an immune system that is working overtime, and what
- 24:47you eat is either information that helps it fight or noise
- 24:54that makes the battle harder. But that colourful food, the
- 25:02deep greens, the bright Reds, the vivid oranges and purples,
- 25:08What if that carries the micronutrients your cells need
- 25:11to reduce inflammation, support healing and give your immune
- 25:18system the very tools it came to the fight without?
- 25:25Allow yourself to crave those brightly coloured fruits and
- 25:33vegetables and think of eating the rainbow as giving your body
- 25:39reinforcements. This is not a diet, this is
- 25:49focused on what you do want. Protein, nutrients and the
- 25:59occasional fats. Give your body what it needs and
- 26:05it will do the hard work for you from this moment forward.
- 26:13Every meal and every bite you take is either a dose of
- 26:19medicine or a small dose of poison.
- 26:26And you choose medicine because you are someone who wants to
- 26:30heal. And the final tree before we
- 26:37leave this place is that good food is freedom and bad food is
- 26:44captivity. Your body, when it's nourished,
- 26:53is free and mobile and energized.
- 27:00But bad food that can drain your energy, make you dependent on
- 27:07medication, make it harder to move.
- 27:13It's like a chain, invisible walls that restrict you.
- 27:22So from this moment forward, consider food either a step
- 27:27towards freedom or a step towards captivity.
- 27:35And you focus on what you want, not what you don't want.
- 27:39You want health, vitality and freedom.
- 27:49I want you to get a sense that hunger is just a signal, a
- 27:59signal that your body is adapting.
- 28:05Being hungry is safe. In fact, it's a good sign.
- 28:16If you were never hungry, you wouldn't enjoy food.
- 28:22If you were never hungry, your body would not need to burn body
- 28:28fat as fuel. Hunger is safety, and being
- 28:36discerning and making great food choices enables your trees to
- 28:43grow stronger. I want you to get a sense that
- 28:50you now look back and see those trees flourishing.
- 28:58Good food is fuel, good food is medicine, and good food is
- 29:04freedom. And before we return, I want you
- 29:08to look up the river and see that future version of you
- 29:15acting in accordance with these truths.
- 29:22And I wonder, I wonder what wonderful things your future has
- 29:28in store when it feels good and enjoyable and safe to choose
- 29:38good food. And as you hold that thought,
- 29:43it's time to return, leaving the river and returning to the
- 29:48present. So take a deep breath in through
- 29:51your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:55Wiggle your fingers. Wiggle your toes.
- 29:59Connect and calibrate into the. Here and the now as I count from
