- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:41Hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:44Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a hypnosis session
- 0:48that was created specifically to deal with emotional eating.
- 0:53And I was working with a client that they believed.
- 0:57That 70%. Of the food that they were
- 1:00consuming wasn't because they were hungry and it wasn't for
- 1:04nutrition and it wasn't for enjoying mealtimes.
- 1:09It was purely emotional eating. So feeling these.
- 1:13Cravings this desire to. Snack or to deal with things
- 1:16like. Stress or anxiety?
- 1:18Or feeling overwhelmed or just uncomfortable.
- 1:22And comfort is one of these things that I think people
- 1:25underestimate. A lot of people get the idea
- 1:27that if you're anxious, you might eat, but actually a lot of
- 1:30people are just uncomfortable. And there's many things that can
- 1:34make people uncomfortable. And sometimes it's just time by
- 1:38themselves can feel uncomfortable, or it might feel
- 1:42like you're in a situation where you don't know the people or you
- 1:46don't know the place. And then a lot of people feel
- 1:48like if they're eating something, they can mitigate and
- 1:52deal with that emotion. Easier and.
- 1:55That was certainly the case for the client that I was working
- 1:58with in the session you're just about to listen to and what they
- 2:02felt is that eating certain foods.
- 2:06Made them feel. Safe.
- 2:07It didn't actually make them safe, it just made them feel
- 2:10safe. And they used the phrase certain
- 2:13foods feel like home. Certain foods feel safe, certain
- 2:17foods. Feel like like a.
- 2:21Friend and. And because of that, of course.
- 2:25Their unconscious is going to go to what not what is safe, but
- 2:28what feels safe. And the irony here is that a lot
- 2:33of. Processed food.
- 2:36Is actually filled with the kind of things that if you eat it.
- 2:40Enough. For a long period of time
- 2:42increase the probability of horrible illnesses that could
- 2:46actually lead to death. So the irony is there are
- 2:50certain people that have spent. Their lives eating.
- 2:53Certain foods because it made them feel safe.
- 2:55That actually LED to an early death and and that.
- 2:59I think is. A horrible habit which is
- 3:03preventable. And this hypnosis?
- 3:05Session is designed to do what's called a reframe, and that is to
- 3:10give a new meaning to a previous belief or evaluation.
- 3:17So there's a bit going on in this session.
- 3:19I think if you are someone that does emotionally eat and we're
- 3:24not talking about because look, food is pleasurable.
- 3:27I'm not saying mindful pleasurable eating where you're
- 3:31enjoying a meal with friends or family.
- 3:33I'm talking about that mindless snacking that is just designed
- 3:37to deal with a horrible feeling. That's the emotional eating that
- 3:41we're talking about. So if you can resonate and.
- 3:44Relate to that. Kind of emotional eating, then
- 3:46you will get some value. From this session.
- 3:49Just to remind you of course, that this was created for an
- 3:53individual. Some of these suggestions and
- 3:55references. Won't quite.
- 3:57Relate to you because it was created for someone else.
- 4:00But if you do like the idea of working with me directly, check
- 4:05out the link in the description to book a free consultation.
- 4:08Call to explore working with me directly so that I can be your
- 4:12hypnotherapist. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:16comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 4:18Relax and enjoy the session. Take.
- 5:00A deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:09resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 5:15And as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense of letting go.
- 5:29As you breathe in a feeling of calm, relaxation, and safety.
- 5:37Also feel that you can exhale any tension, any worries, and
- 5:48any stress. Just allow it to leave your body
- 5:56in that outward breath. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 6:07more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 6:15the deeper you breathe. Dance in I don't want you to use
- 6:26the power of your imagination to imagine a place that feels like
- 6:37home. And maybe that's a building, a
- 6:46town, and I want you to think of that place that feels like home
- 6:56and imagine being in that place and notice.
- 7:05Notice what makes it feel like home as you start to feel a
- 7:15wonderful sensation of familiarity.
- 7:23The reason it feels like home is because you know it.
- 7:31You've been there before and you felt calm and relaxed in this
- 7:38place, and I want you to imagine a familiar, comfortable chair in
- 7:50this place that feels like home. I want you to imagine sitting in
- 8:02that soft, comfortable chair and just imagine it's twice as
- 8:10relaxed as it's ever been before.
- 8:14You can almost sink into this comfortable, familiar chair,
- 8:25taking the weight off your arms and legs and just sinking into
- 8:29this chair and in this place you feel safe and comfortable and
- 8:38relaxed. And it's a wonderful feeling.
- 8:42And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed and safe you feel.
- 9:02This is a place that you know somewhere safe, and it dawns on
- 9:09you. This is just as true for your
- 9:14physical body as it is for a chair, a house, or even a city.
- 9:27Could you couldn't be more familiar with your own body if
- 9:31you tried? I want you to have a growing
- 9:37sense that your physical body is your home, and I want you to get
- 9:49a sense then. If your physical body is your
- 9:55home, doesn't it make sense to have the kind of home that is in
- 10:05the best condition, the kind of home that you're proud of, the
- 10:13kind of home that you maintain? Because some people treat their
- 10:21home like it's undesirable. They make it messy and full of
- 10:33clutter. Maybe it has a smell, but other
- 10:41people make their physical home a source of pride.
- 10:50Things are organised, things are clean and if anyone was to visit
- 10:57their home they would get a sense of pride from other people
- 11:04seeing how well they keep their home.
- 11:12I want you to get a sands done. The thing that is most familiar
- 11:20to you is yourself, and the more.
- 11:27That you. See yourself as something of
- 11:31certainty, predictability, and safety.
- 11:38The less you need other things to do that for you.
- 11:50I want you to start thinking about processed food as a false
- 12:01promise. Some things are like that.
- 12:11They're sold on the basis that they will do something, but they
- 12:16never do that thing. And I want you to think of a
- 12:23time when you bought something because it was meant to do
- 12:29something useful, only it didn't.
- 12:38And maybe you were frustrated and maybe you were annoyed.
- 12:44But I want you to notice that with that thing that didn't do
- 12:46what it was meant to do, you stopped using it.
- 12:51Maybe after only one or two times of using it, that you
- 13:01learn it's not doing what it's meant to be doing.
- 13:11And some people use food in that way.
- 13:16Some people use food because they feel like it can cheer them
- 13:22up. And some people use food because
- 13:27they feel stressed and they want that stress to go away.
- 13:36And some people use food because they feel a sense of uncertainty
- 13:42or discomfort because food is predictable.
- 13:49They know how it will taste and smell like and look like and
- 13:53feel. It feels like.
- 13:56It can help with discomfort and uncertainty, but what if it
- 14:06doesn't actually do that? I want you to try as hard as you
- 14:12can to think of a time when you felt uncomfortable and a bar of
- 14:21chocolate or a slice of bread actually solved the problem that
- 14:29was causing the discomfort. I want you to think that food
- 14:39does not fix the problems. Food temporarily makes you feel
- 14:48like you don't have to worry about those problems.
- 14:53The problem is, is that it doesn't last very long,
- 14:58sometimes minutes. I want you to think that if you
- 15:05bought a shelf on the promise that it would hold things up for
- 15:12you, and after two or three minutes the shelf came tumbling
- 15:18down, you would come to the conclusion that the shelf
- 15:23doesn't work. Or if you bought a new car to
- 15:30transport you to different places, but after 5 minutes in
- 15:36the car, the car broke down, you would come to the conclusion
- 15:44that this is the wrong car, the wrong vehicle.
- 15:46And I want you to try your hardest to think of even one
- 15:54time that processed food really did what you wanted it to do,
- 16:08gives the illusion that it's helping.
- 16:12It gives the illusion of familiarity, but it's temporary.
- 16:24And the more that you come to the conclusion the processed
- 16:29food and snacks, they may feel good for a few moments, but the
- 16:38feeling doesn't last. They may even feel not pleasure
- 16:50but just a sense of gratification.
- 16:55But I want you to notice how often is the case with snacks
- 16:59and processed foods. Before you even finish one, your
- 17:05body already wants the next one, which means they don't work very
- 17:13well. I want you to think of the
- 17:19people in these companies that make these processed foods.
- 17:27They're not thinking of your safety.
- 17:31They're not thinking of your real pleasure.
- 17:36The only thing they're thinking of is does it create a craving
- 17:45or an addiction? Why is it that so much of
- 17:53processed food contain the three white poisons?
- 18:02Sugar, salt and refined flour? Bread contains the refined
- 18:11flour, maybe some snack or crisps.
- 18:22Savoury food contains the salt and think of that chocolate.
- 18:31That cake contains the sugar. It's because these 3 white
- 18:38poisons are cheap and addictive. The irony is, sometimes people
- 18:52eat these foods when they don't feel safe.
- 18:58And yet more people die because of a diet of processed foods
- 19:05high in salt and sugar and flour than they do from sharks or guns
- 19:22or even war. And there is a part of your mind
- 19:28that could come to the conclusion that these processed
- 19:33foods are more dangerous than war because they kill more
- 19:40people every year. Think of how many people die of
- 19:47heart attacks and strokes and type 2 diabetes or health
- 19:54conditions linked to obesity. Millions every year.
- 20:04So if there's a part of you that's been using food to make
- 20:10you feel safe. Allow yourself to lean into the
- 20:16irony of that to free you as you start to think of those things
- 20:24that would make you feel much safer.
- 20:33Being with or talking to someone you know would make you feel
- 20:39safe and help you be safe. Eating good food, nutritious
- 20:49food on a regular basis reduces the probability of thousands of
- 20:58diseases. So eating nutritious food can
- 21:04make you feel safer. If regular exercise was a pill,
- 21:15it would be one of the most powerful and miraculous pills
- 21:22available from a pharmacy. Think of 20 minutes of exercise
- 21:29distilled into a tablet. This would reduce thousands of
- 21:37illnesses, reverse many more, increase the length of time that
- 21:44someone will live, and amplify the quality of their life.
- 21:48And what if you enjoyed exercise and walking or jogging so much
- 21:58that that felt like home, that felt familiar and it felt safe
- 22:07because it truly was safe? What could be safer than
- 22:15reducing the probability of you getting sick and increasing?
- 22:22The. Quality and length of your life.
- 22:30If your unconscious mind is willing to consider swapping,
- 22:40swapping vehicles to enable you to actually get to that
- 22:46destination that you desire, then think of that destination
- 22:51now. Think of yourself one year from
- 22:57now where you've reduced the amount of processed foods and
- 23:05snacks and emotional eating for things that actually make you
- 23:11feel healthier and safer, but also proud and accomplished.
- 23:20What would a year of that look like to you?
- 23:23And let's drift off to that future and see that version of
- 23:28you and you can come to the conclusion, are you more
- 23:35comfortable and safer in that future than if you were to
- 23:39continue, continue to use these processed foods to give you the
- 23:47illusion of safety, but not the reality of safety.
- 23:59And when your unconscious mind has created a new belief, a new
- 24:07idea as to what you can do when you feel uncertain or
- 24:14uncomfortable, stressed or overwhelmed, when you know what
- 24:19that looks like, let me know by nodding your head.
- 24:28I want you to get a sense then. Some people believe that when
- 24:34you know better, you do better. When you believe better, you
- 24:43think and feel differently. Many people are sold on a lie.
- 24:53In the 1950s, a whole generation was told that smoking was good
- 25:00for them and they believed it and they did it until it wasn't.
- 25:10And some people had certain snacks and food when they were a
- 25:15child, and it made them feel better for a few moments that
- 25:21they thought they needed it when they never did.
- 25:30And sometimes the very opposite of what we think is true is
- 25:37actually true. So just imagine pulling out that
- 25:43old belief that somehow food is helping you.
- 25:50Not all food that processed food, the food high in salt and
- 25:55sugar and flour. I want you to feel that that
- 25:59food, now that food is holding you back, that food is putting
- 26:08you at more risk to take out the belief that it's been helping
- 26:16and now plant the belief that that kind of food is hindering,
- 26:22it's impeding the quality of your life.
- 26:26And what will actually help? Unnatural, healthy, nutritious
- 26:34foods powered by sunshine and rainwater.
- 26:40These foods are also familiar. These foods also feel like home.
- 26:48But these foods actually make you safe.
- 26:59Over the next few days and weeks you will have a craving to give
- 27:05your body what it truly needs, nutrition and activity, and you
- 27:14will decide. You will.
- 27:17Refuse to feed the cockroaches of cravings and compulsions.
- 27:27When your mind is telling you to eat a snack, you will feed it a
- 27:32vegetable or a piece of fruit and thereby training your mind
- 27:40and your body to drift to a future of health, vitality,
- 27:48confidence and a wonderful feeling of pride because of what
- 27:56you've accomplished. So imagine leaving that
- 28:03comfortable chair in that place that feels like home.
- 28:08But before you leave, I want you to see a mirror.
- 28:12See yourself a few years from now of changing what you believe
- 28:22you need to make you feel safe. And if you like that future, let
- 28:27me know by nodding your head. That's it.
- 28:35I want you to see two dials next to the mirror.
- 28:39One for cravings and turn it all the way down, and the other for
- 28:47discernment. Your ability to choose those
- 28:54things that actually help you. Cravings all the way down and
- 29:00discernment all the way up. You will take pride in being
- 29:05able to make wonderful choices. You've seen your future cravings
- 29:14have been lowered, discernment has been increased.
- 29:18So it's time to return to the present, the here and the now.
- 29:24So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 29:31nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 29:34wiggle your toes. Start to connect and calibrate
- 29:37into the here and the now. That's it.
- 29:40As I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 29:45You will awaken feeling a new sense of clarity, of strength
- 29:52and discernment, eager to build momentum towards this future
- 29:59you've had a glimpse of starting to count. 123 Waking up. 456
