- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:48Hi, it's Adam here. And in this hypnosis session
- 0:52that you're just about to. Listen to.
- 0:55In essence, it's about heart health and I was working with a
- 0:59client that had. A.
- 1:02What felt to them like an irrational fear?
- 1:04But when you think about it, it's not irrational at all.
- 1:06And that is that young men, sometimes you hear stories in
- 1:10the newspaper or on social media or on TV of someone being in
- 1:14their 20s or 30s and dropping dead of a, a heart attack, You
- 1:19know, some kind of a heart defect.
- 1:21And this thought had got into their head and they were
- 1:24concerned that maybe that could happen to them.
- 1:27And they estimated that this could be, you know, A5, 1015%
- 1:31probability that something like that could happen to them.
- 1:35And because they believed that the risk was higher than it
- 1:38probably was, they were using. What would be sensible?
- 1:43Coping strategies if that belief was true.
- 1:46So they were avoiding doing strenuous activity, they were
- 1:49avoiding being too far from where medical attention could
- 1:53help them. But each time they did that, it
- 1:57reinforced the false belief that they were actually at risk.
- 2:02There was no family history of heart issues.
- 2:06There was no medical evidence of anything wrong with their heart.
- 2:11They'd had all the scans that had all the tests, and yet the
- 2:14anxiety was there. So what you're going to hear in
- 2:16this particular hypnosis session is a hypnosis session that is.
- 2:20Designed. To change the belief that a
- 2:23heart is somehow unhealthy, defective or in danger, and
- 2:29replace it with an idea that the heart is very healthy, very
- 2:32strong, very resilient, even this idea of it.
- 2:35Being indestructible. It also alludes to this idea of
- 2:39having almost like the heart of a Viking warrior, and in the
- 2:43conversation with a client before I did the hypnosis, I
- 2:46talked about how the mindset of a Viking warrior before a battle
- 2:51was. Fearless because they.
- 2:53Held the belief that if they won the battle they'd be a hero, and
- 2:57if they lost the battle and died they would go to Valhalla, which
- 3:01was paradise. So whatever happened wasn't of
- 3:05concern. To them they.
- 3:06Could just focus on really focusing on the on the battle.
- 3:10So that fearlessness of a Viking warrior is alluded to in this
- 3:15hypnosis session. It uses elements of metaphor of
- 3:19belief change of future pacing. There's a lot going on, and it
- 3:24doesn't have to be the case that if you're listening to this that
- 3:26you're anxious about your heart health.
- 3:30The key essence to this hypnosis session is really about living a
- 3:33full life, and an interesting thought experiment about life
- 3:39itself is to consider one of two options.
- 3:43That you live to be 120 but you don't get to do anything.
- 3:46You have to stay in one. Room your whole.
- 3:49Life. You know, eat food, watch TV,
- 3:52but don't actually have any experiences.
- 3:54Well, you live to something like 80, but you have the most
- 3:57magical, amazing life full of experiences and memories.
- 4:01And I think everyone would choose to live for a shorter
- 4:03period of time. With a more.
- 4:05Fulfilled life, and that's the essence of what living is.
- 4:08It's not how long you live, it's the quality of life that you
- 4:11live. And to do that, it doesn't mean
- 4:13taking some risk, it does mean going outside.
- 4:16The comfort zone, doing adventurous things, and that's
- 4:19really. The essence of a life, playing
- 4:21it safe. All your life.
- 4:24Actually means not having a true life.
- 4:27So if you like the idea of having more adventure, more
- 4:30courage, you know more self belief, desire to take on more
- 4:34risks in a in a positive way, then I think you'll get some
- 4:37value from this session. It was created for an
- 4:40individual, so if some of the suggestions don't quite relate
- 4:44to you, that's fine just to disregard them and hone into the
- 4:48suggestions that. Do.
- 4:49Resonate with you and if you do like the idea of working with me
- 4:52directly, have a look in the description for a link to book a
- 4:55free consultation call. We'll have a chat and maybe.
- 4:58We start working together. Me as your hypnotherapist.
- 5:01For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 5:05won't be disturbed. Relax.
- 5:07And enjoy the session. Take a deep.
- 5:52Breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that long,
- 6:02resourceful, relaxing breath. And as you exhale, feel the
- 6:11wonderful sense of release, of releasing any tension, any
- 6:15stress, any worries. Just feel it start to leave your
- 6:19body. In your outward breath and when
- 6:24you breathe in, breathe in more of that relaxation and just.
- 6:30Feel. Now is the time to let go.
- 6:37To let go of anything you've been holding onto that no longer
- 6:41serves you. And maybe you can think of an
- 6:55old item of clothing that for a while really felt like it was
- 7:04part of you, your identity. Who you were?
- 7:10Until one day you. Just.
- 7:12Grew out of that item of clothing.
- 7:16You stopped wearing it because it didn't quite fit you or.
- 7:21Was suitable. For you anymore and I wonder.
- 7:28If there's a. Belief like that, something that
- 7:32you've been holding on to for a while and maybe.
- 7:37You're already. Starting to feel that you're
- 7:41outgrowing that belief, outgrowing it because it doesn't
- 7:47give you what it was intended, not making you.
- 7:53Safer, but. Increasing the very risk that
- 7:56you're trying to avoid. So breathe in and breathe out.
- 8:07Allow yourself to feel more and more comfortable.
- 8:11That's it. Position your body in a way
- 8:12where your arms and legs can feel heavier.
- 8:20And as you hear the sound of my voice, your conscious mind may
- 8:27begin to wonder. Maybe it wonders.
- 8:32Where? Where you're breathing from your
- 8:36chest or your diaphragm? Maybe it's wandering about.
- 8:44The speed and depth of your breath is.
- 8:46Slowing down and getting longer. Maybe you're becoming aware of
- 8:56increasing levels of relaxation and DC, decreasing levels of
- 9:02tension. That's it.
- 9:03Feel it letting. Go and you're drifting now,
- 9:09drifting deeper and deeper into a calm and peaceful state where
- 9:17you don't need to figure anything out.
- 9:21You just. Allow each breath to be a signal
- 9:26where the inhale represents calm and the exhale represents
- 9:33release. And in this moment, the world
- 9:38can slow down. Tension can.
- 9:44Be released. And time can slow.
- 9:48As your thoughts. Also, slow down and settle.
- 9:52That's it. Deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 10:00Every breath now is a permission slip to go.
- 10:02Deeper and deeper. Still.
- 10:07And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 10:12And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you.
- 10:14Breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 10:18imagination awakens, and I want you to imagine what it would be
- 10:23like. To be a.
- 10:26Balloon floating over countryside.
- 10:30Countryside of trees and forests, streams and rivers,
- 10:37rolling hills, blue skies. And I want you to imagine seeing
- 10:46a big old tree next to a river and just allow yourself as a
- 10:51balloon to float on down right there by the side of that river.
- 10:58And maybe prefer now in human form, to relax into the.
- 11:05Shade of the. Tree or maybe?
- 11:10Still by the. River seeing the tree, but under
- 11:13the warmth of the sunshine, I want you to imagine a
- 11:21comfortable chair, like an old armchair.
- 11:26There by the. River and the tree and just
- 11:30imagine sitting in that old armchair.
- 11:41Feeling deeper and deeper relaxed.
- 11:47I'm going to countdown from 12:50 and with each descending
- 11:50number. You will.
- 11:52Feel so relaxed in that imaginary armchair.
- 11:57That you will feel that you can drift to a place.
- 12:02Where you can. Take out an old belief by the
- 12:05root. And plant.
- 12:08A new idea. The very same space.
- 12:12A new empowering belief. The very belief that is a
- 12:18gateway. To a long.
- 12:21Fulfilled incredible life. But for now, relax in that
- 12:29chair. 10 feeling safe. 9 breathing deeper, 8 just
- 12:39relaxing your shoulders now, and seven.
- 12:41Releasing old thoughts. And seven, that's.
- 12:47It really release those thoughts and. 6A Sense of comfort
- 12:50spreading. Five.
- 12:54Halfway there, just feel your breathing slow down. 4.
- 13:01Feel your heart rate slowing down to that.
- 13:04Level of. Pure relaxation 3.
- 13:07Just tension being released now from your neck and your
- 13:10shoulders 2 Down your arms and your legs feeling limp, loose
- 13:15and heavy, and one deeply relaxed, open and receptive.
- 13:28I want you to imagine staring at that.
- 13:31Big old tree. By the river and just imagine
- 13:36how. Difficult it would be to remove
- 13:38that tree by the roots. But I want you to imagine going
- 13:43back in time to when that big old.
- 13:45Tree was a. Tiny tree, a sapling smaller
- 13:50than you. Few weeks, maybe a few months
- 13:55old. I want you to imagine how easy
- 13:59it would. Be to pull that.
- 14:02Tree out by the roots, but as you think of that tree, allow it
- 14:10to represent a. Belief.
- 14:15A belief that. Your heart can't cope with
- 14:22anything too strenuous that your heart can't cope with living an
- 14:28active life. That it's too risky to be.
- 14:32Far away. Essentially the belief here is
- 14:38that either your heart is defective.
- 14:40Or in danger. And the more you think about
- 14:43that belief. The more.
- 14:45Ludicrous, that belief. Seems how absurd that belief
- 14:52seems. And you could choose to keep
- 14:57that belief. But what if in doing so, you
- 15:02increase the very probability of manifesting, through avoidance
- 15:11and inaction? An unhealthy heart, I wonder.
- 15:19What would be a more useful belief?
- 15:24Perhaps the belief that. Your heart is not just.
- 15:30Healthy. It's strong, it's powerful, it's
- 15:34indestructible. The harder you work.
- 15:38Your heart, the stronger it becomes and by having a strong,
- 15:44healthy heart. What if this is a passport?
- 15:51To wonderful possibilities, to living.
- 15:54A life well. Lived there are people on the
- 16:00planet then have genuine heart defects, have to remain close to
- 16:08a hospital, can't board a plane, can't do anything strenuous.
- 16:18I want you to imagine trying to explain to them that you have.
- 16:24A healthy heart, but a. Choosing not to have all the
- 16:28benefits of this healthy heart. They would feel that you are.
- 16:34Abusing your. Privilege that you have a gift
- 16:38of a healthy. Heart.
- 16:40And it is your duty to. Utilize the benefit of that
- 16:46healthy heart and if your unconscious mind is ready to.
- 16:54Take that old belief that your. Heart isn't healthy.
- 17:00To pull that. Baby tree out by its roots.
- 17:04Let me know by nodding your head and imagine forcefully throwing
- 17:12that small sapling of a tree into the river and seeing the
- 17:15river. Take it away.
- 17:19And then see a new tree. Still a baby.
- 17:24A sapling the same size as the other tree, but plant that one
- 17:27in the same space and this tree represents.
- 17:33That you. Have a strong, powerful heart, a
- 17:38resilient heart and this heart needs stimulation, it needs to
- 17:44be challenged. You have a privilege and a duty.
- 17:49To make the most of your heart. To live a life well lived.
- 17:54And imagine planting that tree in the same location.
- 18:02Imagine it already starting to take root.
- 18:04And. Then go forwards in time, seeing
- 18:09a very large tree now by the river, knowing that that is now
- 18:15your dominant belief whenever you think.
- 18:18About your heart you will think of your.
- 18:19Heart being healthy and strong and powerful.
- 18:23A. Resilient Heart.
- 18:27But the world. Will challenge this belief.
- 18:32Imagine walking away from that tree in the river and seeing.
- 18:37A pathway that leads to a. Crossroads to one side.
- 18:44Is the old path the path of? Avoidance marked by fear, by
- 18:49anxious thoughts. It's a familiar path.
- 18:54But it's not true. You've walked it before.
- 19:00The part where you. Acted as if.
- 19:02Your heart. Is defective.
- 19:04Or in danger, and when these anxieties echo.
- 19:13And worry whispers. False alarms in the past, you
- 19:18responded to them as if they were.
- 19:19True, but they. Weren't when the anxieties echo.
- 19:28You have a choice, the old path or the new path and I want you
- 19:33to look. To the other.
- 19:34Path. A path glowing with certainty.
- 19:40And imagine an old wooden sign next to that path that says my
- 19:46heart is powerful, strong and indestructible.
- 19:53And when you feel that echo of anxiety, imagine choosing that
- 19:58path. You don't just step onto that
- 20:01path. You step forward and when you
- 20:07step forward. And your intentions and and
- 20:11actions align with. That belief?
- 20:15Something changes inside. Imagine feeling the rhythm of
- 20:21your heart becomes steady and calm.
- 20:25Not just. Healthy but thriving that every
- 20:29time you take. This part the echoes get.
- 20:34Fainter and fainter until one day in the near future, you
- 20:40won't hear an echo. Of anxiety at all.
- 20:48I want you to get a sense that. Whatever belief you feed.
- 20:54Becomes the dominant. Belief you feed.
- 20:59Anxiety. Beliefs with avoidance.
- 21:03And you feed empowering beliefs. With.
- 21:06Action when you. Act as if the.
- 21:10Fear isn't real. The.
- 21:11Fear disappears. I.
- 21:15Want you to get a sense now of seeing what your life would look
- 21:20like a year from now. A year.
- 21:24Of holding this new belief. A strong, healthy heart that
- 21:29needs stimulation. Imagine the things that you'd
- 21:34be. Doing the places.
- 21:36You would go, it dawns on you. This.
- 21:43Is a more fulfilling future. A life.
- 21:47Of more experiences for a while. You thought that you feared
- 21:53death. It wasn't.
- 21:55True, you feared. Living a life unlived.
- 22:02You craved life. And that is something.
- 22:09That leads. To enthusiasm, passion and
- 22:12wonderful experiences. And the more you live, the more
- 22:17you move, the more you trust your heart only grows stronger.
- 22:24And if you're resting, your heart is charging, renewing and
- 22:27relaxing, like a Viking warrior sharping their blade before
- 22:33their next battle or adventure. And if you are active, your
- 22:40heart is exercising, upgrading, becoming more resilient, even
- 22:46more powerful. And from now on, any flicker or
- 22:52echo of anxiety becomes that crossroads.
- 22:57A choice you can choose to support the old false belief.
- 23:03That you are somehow fragile or at risk.
- 23:07Or you can choose what is. Really true.
- 23:11That you are. Alive you are, strong you are.
- 23:14Vital and your. Heart is indestructible.
- 23:25Imagine. Yourself 50 years.
- 23:29From now and imagine two different versions of you.
- 23:33A version of you that avoided many things.
- 23:42Imagine that version of you. 50 years.
- 23:44That's been 50 years. Not taking risks, not seeking
- 23:48challenges. Avoiding adventures.
- 23:52What does that version of you look like?
- 23:58And then? Duplicate yourself 50.
- 24:01Years from now, but see the version of you with the.
- 24:07Heart of a Viking warrior. Fearless.
- 24:12Whatever you do, takes you forward and you get.
- 24:16To decide what life you want. A life of fear and trepidation,
- 24:23anxiety and worry. Or a fearless.
- 24:26Life a life of courage, adventure, experiences and
- 24:34fulfilment. You decide what tree you grow,
- 24:42what tree you nurture, what path on the crossroads you follow,
- 24:47and if your unconscious is. Willing to adopt the new belief
- 24:57as the default belief, as simply the way that you think about
- 25:01your heart, your health. And your life let me know by
- 25:03nodding your head that's it. And how you?
- 25:10Feed this belief is whenever you act like this belief is.
- 25:15True. Not only.
- 25:18Does it make? This belief stronger.
- 25:21But it keeps the old belief at Bay.
- 25:27Imagine walking back to that tree, that river, and imagine
- 25:32taking a quick swim in the river where you're washing off your
- 25:35past. All those memories of using
- 25:39avoidance, any memories of panic or anxiety.
- 25:46Just treated as real. Emotions based on a.
- 25:48False belief just. Wash them away.
- 25:50Retain the wisdom, but let. Go of the.
- 25:52Feelings. They're your past now and as you
- 25:59emerge from the river. Feel.
- 26:01A sense of being reborn renewed a new.
- 26:04Belief a new. Outlook A desire?
- 26:09To live a full. Adventurous life to.
- 26:16Take a deep. Breath in through your nose and
- 26:20out through your nose. Start to wiggle your fingers and
- 26:24wiggle. Your toes connect and calibrate
- 26:25with the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to
- 26:30awaken you. You will awaken feeling
- 26:32resourceful, confident. A new lease of life.
- 26:36A new. Chapter in the book.
- 26:37Of your life eager so solidify and.
- 26:42Nurture this new. Belief.
- 26:44Starting to count 123. Waking up 456.
- 26:50More alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 26:53Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 26:57Wide awake. Wide awake.
