- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, everyone. I am going to wake us up by talking about how we're gonna go to bed. That's right. I want to wake you up thinking about how you're gonna go to bed. So this is the Just For Today podcast, and my name is Cindy Marlar. And just for today, you are gonna decide right now what time you're gonna go to bed. That's it. What time are you gonna go to bed? Say it out loud. Did you say nine o'clock? Did you say nine forty? Did you say 10:15? Did you say midnight? I don't know. What time did you say? And I want you in bed at that time without your phone in your hand, lights off, teeth brushed just for today. When you wake up, you're gonna decide what time you go to bed, and you are gonna go to bed at that time, no matter what, unless there's some insane emergency that keeps you out of bed. Why do we do this? Well, setting the intention of what time we're gonna go to bed tonight helps us throughout our day because we know as things get hard or we feel tired, we know I'm going to bed at nine. I'm going to bed at 9 30. But without a plan, as the evening fades on, and you know how that goes, sometimes you're dog tired at 3, 4, 5 p.m. But without a plan, by 8 p.m., sometimes there's that extra wind of energy. And then you're like, well, now I feel a little better. The kids are in bed. And then what happens is before you know it, you're going to bed an hour or two hours after you really wanted to, because you didn't set that intention. Which is then setting the next day, which might be today, off to a start you don't want. So just for today, right now, you're gonna tell yourself what time you're gonna go to bed. And then I would suggest setting an alarm in your phone for 20 minutes before that time. So let's say you want to be in bed by 9 30, set your phone alarm for 9 10. And then when that alarm goes off, no matter what you're doing, stop it and get yourself ready for bed to get into bed and have a successful night's sleep. Because our sleep is like Plugging our cell phones into charge. We have to plug our bodies into charge at night. Let's make a plan, set an intention. What time are you gonna go to bed? Just for today, we're going to bed at the time we decide. We can do this together, guys. I'll see you tomorrow.
