- 0:00Welcome to the libido lounge where we focus on all things love, lust, and libido.
- 0:05We believe that fabulous sex is important to health as exercise and good food.
- 0:19Hi, everybody.
- 0:20Welcome back to another episode on the lounge.
- 0:23I'm your host, doctor Diane, your libido expert, and I'm thrilled today to introduce you
- 0:28to a new friend of mine, doctor Ray, who's a life and relationship coach, best selling
- 0:34author.
- 0:34We're gonna get into some really cool topics today, you guys, talking about trust and
- 0:39relationships and safety and really looking at even different techniques and actionable steps
- 0:45that you can use to get out of that kind of emotional amygdala hijacking scenario that
- 0:51sometimes happens to us as women, as humans in life.
- 0:55And we're gonna talk about all of that and more today.
- 0:57So welcome everybody, and big special welcome to you, doctor Ray.
- 1:00Thank you for spending time with me today.
- 1:03I am happy to be here.
- 1:04And when you said amygdala, I went, wow.
- 1:07I love the conversations.
- 1:10Yeah.
- 1:10It's it's real important.
- 1:12Right?
- 1:12So maybe we'll start there because I think it's such an important topic, right, around so many
- 1:17times I find in my work that one of the things that breaks down the libido in relationship and
- 1:24and out of relationship no matter where people are in their relationship journey, one of the
- 1:28things that can break down libido is feeling like feeling unsafe or feeling like they can't
- 1:35trust or just maybe their intuition, maybe somebody's intuition isn't being listened to
- 1:40anymore.
- 1:41And I I tend to find that this can happen from big trauma events, which is very obvious to
- 1:48people, but also simple little microtraumas, like the the way that somebody says something
- 1:54to us and we get triggered or we take it the wrong way and we hold on to that.
- 1:58So can you, like, just, you know, start our conversation maybe since you grabbed on to the
- 2:03word amygdala?
- 2:04Can you
- 2:05Yes.
- 2:05Well, first off, the the the purpose of amygdala is to assess whether something is
- 2:11threatening or nonthreatening.
- 2:13And once once it it assess that, it's very quickly that it gives you some type of
- 2:21appraisal, like, such as this can give us pleasure or it it runs.
- 2:27And, therefore, there's this idea that it can hurt us.
- 2:30And so where this could create challenges in our life And I know there might be if men were
- 2:36to hear this hear this, they would go, what what are you talking about this trust?
- 2:40I never hit you before.
- 2:42I don't I only yell if I drop something on my foot.
- 2:46What does that even mean?
- 2:48But if a couple is living together, and every time she approaches a a particular topic or
- 2:56wants to share her heart and the man reacts, he tries to fix it, he walks out, or he's checked
- 3:03out, then in time, that experience itself can feel like I'm not safe here to be myself.
- 3:09And, therefore, what that leads to is that this person that you might say that you're living
- 3:15with your partner, the wife, in time is that she's in, like, in a way where she doesn't feel
- 3:21safe in her environment.
- 3:22So if her amygdala is hypervigilant, if it's hypervigilant yes.
- 3:28I know.
- 3:29Logically, it should not be.
- 3:31But if it's hypervigilant, if her want to make love or be sexual would be equivalent to you,
- 3:38say, while she's in a tree and she just escaped a a a tiger, if you were to say, hey, honey.
- 3:45Do you wanna have a back massage?
- 3:47Hey.
- 3:48You know, do you wanna go out for ice cream?
- 3:50It's not gonna happen because she's been in this total stress mode hiding in a tree.
- 3:56And so the key thing of, like, through meditation, coaching, and other techniques is
- 4:00to calm the nervous system.
- 4:02And the nervous system, of course, will calm down the amygdala so you can experience
- 4:08pleasure and joy again.
- 4:10But not just that, where this usually takes, working with a coach or therapist, if you have
- 4:17unhealed trauma, your amygdala is going off all the time, probably not for the best reasons.
- 4:24So it would be like where you you were abused as a child, and, anytime you see a strong man
- 4:33or a big man, unconsciously reminds you of your father who used to hit you.
- 4:38Well, imagine meeting a man for the first time who just happens to be big and he's friendly.
- 4:44But because he's just big, your amygdala says, run.
- 4:47Hide.
- 4:48He's unsafe.
- 4:49I'm unsafe.
- 4:51And so we have to heal that.
- 4:53And that is what that leads to another conversation why people will self sabotage
- 4:59because they're trying to protect themselves or they're afraid of something.
- 5:04So
- 5:05that could be a place to go next.
- 5:06I I wanna make sure to comment that I really appreciate your analogy of the tree example.
- 5:12Right?
- 5:13Because I think it's so easy for us to hear things like, well, how is this related?
- 5:18Why would something silly like my partner not taking out the trash when I asked them to or my
- 5:26partner not calling, you know, when I'm five when he said he's gonna be five minutes or she
- 5:29said they were gonna be five minutes late for work, and they don't call.
- 5:32And that's upsetting, and that creates this trigger, and that creates unsafety.
- 5:36And and why is that?
- 5:37So I think your tree example is so important that it's like, it might not be seem logical
- 5:42based upon where we are in our current understanding of, you know, of trauma, but
- 5:47we're still programmed like we're running from that tiger, like we're running from that bear,
- 5:51or like we had that, you know, that bigger trauma example that you gave.
- 5:56So I think that's a really important thing, and and I do like the idea of moving into this self
- 6:00sabotage thing.
- 6:01So so let's let's break this down because what can happen, right, is that people can get into
- 6:07these these situations where they do this they repeat the same patterns over and over and over
- 6:13again.
- 6:14Right?
- 6:14So I'm curious if, like, that's part of what the self sabotage you're seeing where it's
- 6:18like, okay.
- 6:18I get this trigger from my partner because they said something in a way, and they didn't mean
- 6:23it, but I it really hurt my feelings or it really made me feel unsafe.
- 6:27And so then I react a certain way to protect myself.
- 6:30Libido shuts down, sex drive, connection, all the things.
- 6:34So is that sort of what you mean by self sabotaging is almost that vicious cycle of
- 6:38response?
- 6:38Yes.
- 6:39Absolutely.
- 6:40It's so most of the time, people think it's a conscious thing.
- 6:44But I when I talk about this self sabotaging, it's definitely an experience that's, say,
- 6:51separate from who you really are.
- 6:53In other words, it's like it's that darker, unhealed part of yourself leading the show.
- 6:58Okay?
- 6:59And I'll give you a real subtle one where I've seen women run, and that is when the man
- 7:06actually says, I love you.
- 7:08I love you.
- 7:10Because people who were closer to this woman when she was a little girl, they died.
- 7:17People who said they love love her betrayed her.
- 7:22So imagine she has this unhealed trauma, and it's not like it stops her from working or
- 7:28she's an alcoholic, but that they people call her, like, the runaway bride, you know, when
- 7:34that when, like, they a man is really serious, to, like, be with her.
- 7:40And it's just she's afraid to commit.
- 7:44She's afraid that she can't make her own choices.
- 7:46She's afraid to be hurt again.
- 7:48Therefore, she runs away.
- 7:50She self sabotages.
- 7:53So how does somebody know if they self sabotage?
- 7:55Because I you know, there can be situations, right, where leaving is the right thing, and
- 8:00maybe there's people that you know, some women I talk to, for example, say things to me like,
- 8:04oh, I'm a bad picker.
- 8:06Right?
- 8:06Like, I keep picking men that are just, like, maybe they're dysfunctional in some sort of way
- 8:12or maybe there's a value system align misalignment or whatever it is.
- 8:16And so I'll hear women say things like, yeah.
- 8:18I just I'm a bad picker.
- 8:19I just always pick bad men or the wrong men.
- 8:22So where how does somebody begin to know then, okay.
- 8:26Am I self sabotaging me myself?
- 8:28Or is my intuition right?
- 8:30Or am I a bad picker?
- 8:31I need to switch my strategy.
- 8:33How do we break that down?
- 8:34So I'm gonna make a generalization which can trigger a lot of women listening to this, and
- 8:39I'm okay with that.
- 8:40It's not my intentions.
- 8:41But I recognize that more with women, and women here in this might go, oh, but I've experienced
- 8:47that with boyfriends.
- 8:48So, yes, it happens with men also, and that has taken personal responsibility.
- 8:53Like so for example, I noticed that with a feminine person, whether whether it's a man or
- 8:58woman, if it feels a certain way, that actually might be truth rather than being actually
- 9:04factual.
- 9:06So what I mean by that is if you feel you didn't do something wrong, you might never say
- 9:11I was wrong just because you feel that way.
- 9:14And I understand that.
- 9:16Why this is important to understand, it's this.
- 9:20So if you meet a guy and your story after each experience is he was a jerk, he was this way,
- 9:29and so forth, and you're talking about all what was wrong with him and not how you
- 9:34participated, not what you learn, and how you grew, then you are not user relationships in
- 9:42the best way they could be to be a reflection of how you can grow.
- 9:47So I don't think women just necessarily choose bad men.
- 9:51I think it's more of this.
- 9:53Number one, they don't they don't have clear boundaries and honor the red flags that come up
- 10:00on the first date or even the first couple text messages.
- 10:03You know that.
- 10:04You ignore the red flags because you don't trust yourself.
- 10:07There's that.
- 10:09Number two, maybe no one has taught you that there are healthy men and unhealthy men and
- 10:15that there's a healthy way to discern the the difference.
- 10:19But if you've never met a healthy man, you might not know.
- 10:22That's why you work with a coach to develop, like, a love map of your values and so forth.
- 10:27So be clear with what you want.
- 10:28And then three, law of attraction.
- 10:32I believe that we attract what we are.
- 10:34And if even if it's not exactly like like where we, attracted, say, a narcissist, like, you've
- 10:42you you think, well, I'm a really loving person.
- 10:45You know, I care about others.
- 10:47You know, why is it that I keep attracting narcissists?
- 10:51Well, you might be a vibrational match because you're a people pleaser.
- 10:55You're the perfect perfect victim for the narcissist to perpetrate.
- 11:00So that's why what I mean by you might be a match or vibrationally, you'll attract that.
- 11:05But, also, if you always put out there, men are jerks, and I'm never gonna find one, well, just
- 11:12like a person who is afraid that they're gonna strike out before they go up there in a hit, if
- 11:17he's saying to him or herself, I'm gonna strike out.
- 11:19I suck.
- 11:20I'm a strike out.
- 11:21More likely, he or she will strike out.
- 11:24So we create those experiences, and it takes personal responsibility for us to kinda go,
- 11:28yes.
- 11:29I ignored the red flags.
- 11:31Two, I really don't trust myself.
- 11:33Three, I don't even know what a healthy relationship, is.
- 11:36And four, how do I, share my boundaries and my my deal breakers?
- 11:42You know?
- 11:42And and how do I start trusting that, you know, I can walk away from unhealthy relationships,
- 11:47and I can lean into healthy ones.
- 11:50I appreciate all that.
- 11:51I'm gonna ask a follow-up question, and I just wanna state that I'm sure there's people
- 11:56listening.
- 11:56As you said, I'm sure there's people that are listening that are triggered by this.
- 11:59So stay here because one of the things that that I do wanna ask doctor Ray that I'm gonna
- 12:04ask in a few few moments is more around, like, okay.
- 12:07Well, how do we get ourselves out of this cycle?
- 12:09So stay around for that.
- 12:10Before we do that, one of my questions for you, doctor Ray, is, like, as I hear you say all
- 12:15these things, right, to me, there's, like, if we're gonna fundamentally boil down everything
- 12:20you said into one thing, I what I hear is it's time to be more personally empowered.
- 12:27And so my question for you is, like because my my previous question was around okay.
- 12:31Well, if somebody is a bad picker, for example, and these things, then how do they know is it
- 12:36self sabotage or I'm just a bad picker?
- 12:39And what I'm hearing in what you are saying, and I want to know if this is accurate, is that
- 12:44in many ways, it's it's almost like it's not an either or, but it's more around, like, if
- 12:49things are not working out, right, then the fundamental thing is that self empowerment of
- 12:54of flipping that mirror around and looking at ourselves and saying, okay.
- 12:58Why am I stuck in these patterns?
- 13:00Why am I stuck here?
- 13:01Right?
- 13:01Would you say that's true, or am I missing something with what you're saying?
- 13:05You are accurate.
- 13:06So when I was working on my dissertation, this is when I was single, I felt a little bit
- 13:13insecure because I was writing my dissertation.
- 13:17And it was I had to write it in a, like, a a clinical way in sight, which is not natural to
- 13:24me.
- 13:24And I was stressed.
- 13:27And but I was also single, and I wanted to meet a woman.
- 13:31And it was strange how all three women I met were I was physically attracted to.
- 13:38I kissed each one of them on the first date.
- 13:40So you think that, oh, it went really well.
- 13:42We had a lot of fun.
- 13:43But then they disappeared, all three of them.
- 13:46What's interesting is that one of them happened to work at Emperor's College in Santa Monica,
- 13:52and she was working as an intern.
- 13:53And I had I remember her saying she was going to school there, but I didn't know which
- 13:57school.
- 13:58Well, I decided to get acupuncture, and they set me up with her.
- 14:02So just imagine that awkwardness, but, also, it was really cool.
- 14:05Like, of all the people that I got set up with, it's a person I went on a date with.
- 14:10I know some people listen to this and go, oh my god.
- 14:12It would've felt like this guy's a stalker, but just hold on a second here.
- 14:16So she was cool.
- 14:17You know?
- 14:17Like, she was into spirituality.
- 14:19Like, all three women that I went out with that we had the same interest.
- 14:23So they were, like, people who were introspective.
- 14:25Like, you and I, Diane, we could talk about everything, you know, pretty openly.
- 14:28So, I said, this is funny.
- 14:31She said, yes.
- 14:32I said, I was just curious.
- 14:34Like, I haven't you don't have to answer.
- 14:36You know?
- 14:36Like I said, but what happened?
- 14:38She said, honestly, she said, you were just a rebound person.
- 14:41She said, I, you know, I just broken up my boyfriend, and she said that.
- 14:45And what actually happened, like, a couple days after we went out, like, my cat was attacked by
- 14:51a dog and was almost killed.
- 14:53And so all my energy went to that, and I just decided to just kind of stay single and work on
- 14:58myself.
- 14:59She only went on one date with me.
- 15:01She didn't owe me a response.
- 15:04It was up to her to make me feel better because it was just one date.
- 15:07You know, I didn't feel necessary gaslighted or anything like that.
- 15:10It was just more like, oh, I saw it as a such a great blessing.
- 15:14You're like, oh my god.
- 15:15Most people never hear what happened.
- 15:18And so more and often, we just don't know, you know, because we don't talk to that person.
- 15:23But the thing was this, how I took responsibility for this and recognized, like,
- 15:28this was me.
- 15:29It was this.
- 15:30I really didn't wanna get a relationship right now.
- 15:32I was feeling really insecure.
- 15:34I had one foot in, one foot out.
- 15:36All these women were the same way.
- 15:40Uncertainty.
- 15:40I attracted uncertainty.
- 15:42I attracted basically those who were not available.
- 15:45I wasn't available.
- 15:47I was so immersed in my dissertation.
- 15:50You know what I That's
- 15:51not It sounds a bit.
- 15:52I I love that.
- 15:53And what I also hear in that is this whole concept, right, is that we can turn any story
- 15:59into a story.
- 16:00Right?
- 16:00Because you did find the reason with that one woman, but it would have been so easy to, like,
- 16:05make some story in one's head around, like, okay.
- 16:08Well, none of these people like me because x, y, and z, or I'm not this or all these, like,
- 16:13I'm not enough, whatever the story is.
- 16:15And I think this, you know, this kind of goes back to this, like, self empowerment thing.
- 16:20Like, in order to have more trust, in order to have more depth of connection, in order to have
- 16:24a better relationship physically, sexually, intimately with our partner and with ourselves.
- 16:29It comes down to releasing ourselves from those stories and the self sabotage and everything
- 16:35we're talking about.
- 16:36So in your experience, where do people start?
- 16:39Because I think I it's so true, right, when I see people in my community date and and I see
- 16:45this where people can go mad over, oh my gosh.
- 16:49I'm just not good enough, and this person doesn't like me for all these reasons.
- 16:52And it could be as simple as they're just have their own story.
- 16:57They just are getting back into date or whatever their story is.
- 17:00That is actually nothing to do with us, but we create our own self deprecating story out of
- 17:04it.
- 17:04So where do people start?
- 17:06How do people break this cycle?
- 17:08Well, as you were sharing this right now, you know, what came up for me was just here's a
- 17:14simple example in my book, All It Takes Is One, which is a simple matter of fact read that
- 17:20really breaks down consciousness in a really layman's way to understand, to understand how
- 17:28it shows up psychologically, emotionally, and and how it can run your life.
- 17:33And so there is a it's called the return of love exercise, and you are to answer these
- 17:41questions as quickly as possible.
- 17:43It's kinda like free association.
- 17:45Love means blah blah blah.
- 17:47My family taught me that love meant blah blah blah.
- 17:50I received love when I blah blah blah.
- 17:52I didn't receive love when I blah blah blah.
- 17:55I needed my parents to love when I I need to be loved when I I wish I had been loved when I so
- 18:01there's these questions, and in response might mean, you might come up with love equals pain
- 18:06to me.
- 18:06My family told me that love has to be earned.
- 18:08I received love when I achieved good grades.
- 18:10I didn't receive love when I disagreed with my parents.
- 18:13I created my parents' love when I was going to college.
- 18:16So you you start this simple technique is just to recognize, like, oh my god.
- 18:22Maybe I have a shitty idea about love and relationships.
- 18:25I never knew that.
- 18:26Maybe I have a really bad love map.
- 18:29So so self sabotaging, remember what I shared, is an unconscious mechanism within yourself to
- 18:38protect you.
- 18:39It is to avoid few like pain, and it is to move you more towards pleasure.
- 18:46Just remember that even if it screws things up after the fact, it's just understanding that.
- 18:51And it'll continue to operate that way until you feel good about love.
- 18:58You have a clear relationship with how you wanna show up if you're in a relationship, such
- 19:03as it's it's gotta be beyond the basics, such as I I want a man who is handsome.
- 19:08We have great sex.
- 19:09He listens to me to you know, it it has to be this.
- 19:13I would I would love a man to love my light and dark.
- 19:17Well, do you love your light and dark also, or you you reject it?
- 19:22I want a man who can really hold space for emotions.
- 19:26How comfortable are you with feedback?
- 19:27Do you get defensive?
- 19:29So you have to become the version of what you expect, and that takes looking at yourself.
- 19:34It's gonna take introspection no matter what.
- 19:37So simple technique like that.
- 19:38That I mean, this is not the cure all.
- 19:39This one exercise, but it's it gives you an example that which I've seen has worked.
- 19:44You know, you get to the basics.
- 19:46What what does love really mean to me?
- 19:48And do I experience love with or without a partner right now?
- 19:52I love it.
- 19:53Pun intended.
- 19:54And I wanna say that one of the things I say in my work is if you can't name it, you can't
- 19:59change it.
- 19:59And that's, like, what I hear and what you're, you know, you're saying is, like, one of the
- 20:02first simple things is, like, actually understand what is going on.
- 20:06Like, name what is going on, your tendencies, your beliefs, all these things.
- 20:10And once you actually start breaking them down and say, wow.
- 20:13Like you're saying, if you believe fundamentally on a subconscious level that love
- 20:17is pain, well, there is the initial, you know, problem to change.
- 20:22And then so in your in your book, all it takes is one, which will have links for you guys for
- 20:28all of doctor Ray's works and his book and everything he's, talking about today.
- 20:33We'll have all of that in the show notes.
- 20:35In your book, do you then talk to people about kinda action steps from there?
- 20:40And and where do you tend to go in your work after, say, they've seen it and they've seen
- 20:45some of those stories and seen what's what's really limiting them from the love they want?
- 20:51Well, there's a different approach with my book and what I do with clients who say are coached
- 20:56with me for maybe eight sessions.
- 20:58I'll talk about those clients who are working with me for just eight eight sessions.
- 21:03Let's just imagine that they're ready to date or they think they're ready to date, but they
- 21:08come to me and they still haven't healed a heartbreak.
- 21:11They still have issues with how their parents' relationship ended in a bad divorce.
- 21:17So just imagine the first four sessions might be healing a trauma, the person recognizing
- 21:22that that wasn't love, that was more manipulation, whatever came up for them so
- 21:26they're clear.
- 21:27K?
- 21:28The next four sessions, like five, six, and seven, might look like this.
- 21:31So now that you know what you want, how would you show up and be, and how do you practice
- 21:36that every day, such as I wanna be more open or friendly?
- 21:39Well, then you practice that and use an action by going to the grocery stores.
- 21:43Okay?
- 21:43So it's kinda like what you said.
- 21:44How do this, that.
- 21:46How do you, infuse that so a person becomes that?
- 21:49It's when they start dating or having experiences, they have a coach to talk to where
- 21:55the the client might say, oh my god.
- 21:56I felt that same feeling I had when I was with my ex husband.
- 21:59Like, wow.
- 22:00That's still there.
- 22:01Yes.
- 22:01Great.
- 22:02So it's not like they're gonna, for sure, end up with a partner, but now they're able to
- 22:08kinda create a a new understanding of themselves of how they show up in relationships
- 22:13so they feel more secure and confident.
- 22:15So that's like a process I might work with with if someone's, like, single and wants to start
- 22:20dating someone.
- 22:21Now in my book, it actually gets into more peeling, like, the onion apart and where you
- 22:28get into, like, the deep hidden beliefs that are controlling your life.
- 22:34So my my goal is to help people, discover what that hidden belief is and to shift it.
- 22:41So there is reframing in my book so you can start living and being that way.
- 22:46You could be your own mantra.
- 22:49As far as even more examples, that's actually gonna go into, book number two.
- 22:54That's a follow-up to this book.
- 22:56That's gonna be more now that you're healed, what does that spiritual healthy partnership
- 23:00look like?
- 23:01That's book number two.
- 23:02And you'll see also at the very end of the book, it talks about these qualities of these
- 23:07people.
- 23:09Yeah.
- 23:09I love it.
- 23:10I love it.
- 23:10And I think it says a lot around this this actually starting to become the person that you
- 23:16really want to be around.
- 23:18Okay.
- 23:18Well, if you wanna attract somebody with x y z qualities, then where do you need to be and who
- 23:23do you need to be?
- 23:23And I and I love it too because I think so many times we get stuck.
- 23:27People get stuck around this, like, mantra or affirmation around, like, okay.
- 23:31I am confident.
- 23:33I am love.
- 23:34I am all these these mantras versus, like, oh, I'm actually going to go to the grocery store
- 23:39like you suggested, and I'm actually going to live my mantra in real time so that in time, we
- 23:44truly start becoming that because we're not just saying it.
- 23:47We're actually practicing it every day.
- 23:50Right?
- 23:50So it's so beautiful.
- 23:51And and I know we're running out of time here, but before we go, couple of things.
- 23:56One, and and I'm gonna ask you a question about just what we wanna leave people with, so don't
- 24:01go anywhere, everybody.
- 24:02But before we get on to that, what sort of I know you have a free giveaway for everybody
- 24:07that we're gonna put into the the show notes here.
- 24:10It's your relationship road map course guidebook.
- 24:13So can you tell us a little bit about that?
- 24:15So the rapid relationship rescue master class has videos as cheat, a cheat sheet, but it
- 24:23basically takes you through experience where you break down your belief system about
- 24:29relationships.
- 24:30Very similarly to, like, how we just did in this podcast, but you just you're gonna be in
- 24:34your your home and into where you create the sacred container for yourself so you can kind
- 24:40of peel back, like, those patterns and beliefs that don't serve you.
- 24:44So that's one thing I offer for free, and that's something I'll give you.
- 24:49And then the other thing, do you wanna mention my book?
- 24:51So it's it's all it takes is one.
- 24:53Right?
- 24:53That book?
- 24:54Yeah.
- 24:54It's yeah.
- 24:54The the full title is all it takes is one.
- 24:56Drop your one big hidden belief and master your life.
- 25:00And I'll give you the link for that also.
- 25:01And, yeah, it's a it's a a lot of, actually, psychologists, therapists, and coaches have
- 25:08bought the book.
- 25:08Like, we're talking about thousands because including my girlfriend who's a coach, she she
- 25:13keeps giving them to her clients, not because she's trying to support me, but she's she likes
- 25:17it because it's like a really simple manual of, like, hey.
- 25:20This will support you while we're working together.
- 25:23And it looks like it's very accessible.
- 25:25Like, very attainable.
- 25:27You get through the content fairly quickly.
- 25:28You can apply it.
- 25:29You don't get lost in details that aren't important.
- 25:32It looks like very just accessible to people as far as actionable steps.
- 25:36Well, I love the Amazon reviews.
- 25:38The Amazon reviews.
- 25:40So, I like Joe Dispenza.
- 25:42I know you do do too.
- 25:44But when I saw his reviews, I thought, like, god.
- 25:46I hope it get reviews like that.
- 25:48To be honest, when I became a best seller, that was the most exciting thing for me.
- 25:52It wasn't, like, validation.
- 25:53Like, now I'm worthy.
- 25:54It's more like because when you write something, you really don't know how the public
- 25:58is gonna respond to it.
- 26:00Yeah.
- 26:00And he responded to this exactly what was it what I intended.
- 26:04That is this is a simple guidebook that really opened me up that I was able to have a a
- 26:10benefit right away to where people are praising the the quick breakthroughs.
- 26:16Perfect.
- 26:17And then if we're gonna leave everybody with one final thing.
- 26:22Right?
- 26:22One final besides the obvious, go get your book, get this you know, get these downloadable
- 26:27guides, and start doing this stuff?
- 26:30Besides the obvious, one actionable step right now around something that can help with self
- 26:36stopping self sabotage that can help them get back into more connection either with
- 26:41themselves and or their partner.
- 26:44What would what would you break it down to one thing if you had to?
- 26:48Sure.
- 26:48So you I, in a way, maybe didn't completely answer some of your questions about the how do
- 26:54you know what is self sabotage?
- 26:56So I am gonna piggyback off of that.
- 27:00So I consider anything that isn't like, if you have a negative thought about yourself or a
- 27:08person or situation, that in your body, in that moment, you're gonna probably feel some
- 27:17resistance, maybe anger, maybe pain, and so forth.
- 27:21What would it be like if you were to ask yourself these questions in those moments?
- 27:28Number one, is this true?
- 27:32Number two, who do I be who do I become, or how do I act when I have this thought?
- 27:39Number three, what would I be?
- 27:41How would I become if I didn't have these thoughts?
- 27:44You probably heard Byron.
- 27:45That's kinda like a little Byron Katie stuff.
- 27:47It's just that.
- 27:48Yep.
- 27:49Just start with that because you're gonna probably say it's not true.
- 27:51You're gonna probably point out a behavior that you don't like.
- 27:55And, of course, if you didn't have that thought, you probably would be maybe getting
- 27:59your nails done.
- 28:00You would be taking a walk.
- 28:01You'd be laughing.
- 28:02You'd be enjoying life.
- 28:04Yeah.
- 28:05Life is defined by the questions we ask ourselves.
- 28:08Yes.
- 28:08I love it.
- 28:09I love it.
- 28:09I love it.
- 28:10Well, thank you so much for being here.
