- Cindy Marler: One of the things I love about children is how they are naturally such big thinkers. They don't have the limitations. They don't understand that there's money that comes into play or time constraints. They just dream and think big. And when do we stop doing that? Why are we always scared and fearful of dreaming big? When do we stop talking about it? When do we say, when do we stop saying to ourselves, I want to do this? I want to do that. That would be fun. This is who I'd love to be friends with. These are the places I'd like to go. This is the family I'd like to have. That's the kind of person I want to be. When do we stop doing that? Because if you talk to children, they don't do that. Man, it's just everything's possible for them. Every kid wants to be an astronaut or a firefighter or a mommy. they just want to do all of those things. And when do we stop being Dreaming big and start getting scared and fearful. Some of that is realistic, right? Some of that is trying to our adult selves trying to figure out what's realistic and what's not. But a lot of it are these self-imposed limitations. And there's exercises you can do to make sure that you're working this muscle back to childhood of thinking and dreaming big. One of them I love is if you Google YouTube Steve Harvey 300 list. So on YouTube, go to Steve Harvey 300 list. I learned this from this YouTube video many years ago. And he talks about something called a 300 list, where you just write this list of things that you'd have, places you go, things you do, all of that. And it's just an exercise to help you think big. I remember one of the first times I started to do this years ago and I had my children start to do it. And my on things on my list were silly things like matching family shoes or vacations. And then the next morning, after we'd been working on it as a family, I caught wind of my daughter's who was maybe Eight or nine at the time. I caught wind of hers. It was sitting on the table and I read it. And one of her things was spend the night at the White House. And another one of her things was walk on a cloud. And I was like, here I want family matching converse. And my daughter wants to walk on a cloud and spend a night in the White House. And I was so humbled in that moment and reminded that I want to be more childlike in my thoughts and dreams. And I want to let go of some of my inhibitions I've learned through life because life has a way of toughening us up, which is necessary in some ways, but unnecessary in others. And we want to get back to some of that childlike wonder of what could be possible, especially if you're simply just writing a list. No harm, no foul. Think big, dream big. Check out Steve Harvey's YouTube video and just think about it. Let's dream and think like children sometimes. Just for today.
