Transcript
- 0:00If you're sitting there wondering why your avoidant X
- 0:03seems so unbothered after the breakup, then this video or
- 0:08podcast is for you. I'm going to break down exactly
- 0:11what's going on in their mind during No Contact.
- 0:14I'll be discussing the stages avoidance go through during No
- 0:17Contact, why they seem so darn happy right after the breakup
- 0:22and when that changes, how long it takes for an avoidant to miss
- 0:25you, the avoidant Phantom X phenomenon, and when avoidance
- 0:32typically reach out and what to say when they do.
- 0:36But before I do that, I want to welcome back my beautiful no
- 0:38contact Army. I hope you've been a little
- 0:41soldier and stayed in no contact.
- 0:43And if you too would like to join our no contact Army, all
- 0:46you have to do is hit the subscribe button and the bell
- 0:50notification and you're in. And to read our manual, go to
- 0:54nocontactsecrets.com or you can read 2 free chapters before you
- 0:58purchase the book. OK, so let's RIP that Band-Aid
- 1:02off first. Your avoidant is going to be
- 1:06happy right after the breakup, not because they never cared,
- 1:10but because they're relieved. Avoidance, hate, conflict, and
- 1:15emotional pressure. So when you disappear after the
- 1:19breakup, they're celebrating finally.
- 1:23No one's asking me to talk about feelings or to reconsider.
- 1:26That's what they're thinking. And This is why begging or
- 1:31checking in backfires. The longer you linger, the
- 1:36longer you extend their relief phase.
- 1:39Think of it like resetting a timer.
- 1:42Every text you send, they think I'm still not free.
- 1:48But when you go radio silent, that timer starts ticking and
- 1:53ticking and ticking towards the next stage, which is tantratam
- 2:00distraction. They're going to suppress their
- 2:03emotions. They're going to do everything
- 2:06they can to not feel any negative emotions after the
- 2:09breakup, such as missing you nostalgia or anxiety.
- 2:15They'll try distracting themselves by focusing on other
- 2:18things and sometimes other people.
- 2:21That's why at first they come across as unbothered and you may
- 2:25wonder if they ever cared. Next they're going to be in
- 2:29denial and convince themselves that they've done nothing wrong
- 2:34and it was you. They don't want to consider the
- 2:38possibility that they made a mistake because that would make
- 2:41them anxious. And remember, they're
- 2:43suppressing their emotions and are trying to avoid feeling
- 2:47anything, especially anxiety. Now here's where things get
- 2:52interesting. Oh, and real quick, I got to be
- 2:55honest, about 65% of the people listening right now have not hit
- 2:59the subscribe button yet. So if my videos have ever helped
- 3:02you or at least kept you from drunk dialing your ex, then tap
- 3:06that subscription button. It's free, it takes half a
- 3:09second, and in return, I'll keep working hard to make these
- 3:12videos as helpful as possible so you've got the best shot at
- 3:16getting your ex back or moving on like a boss deal.
- 3:19Good. OK, so since there's a part of
- 3:22them that still loves you, yes, eventually they'll begin to
- 3:27wonder what the heck are you up to?
- 3:30And when they get to this stage depends on you.
- 3:34Yes, you. You actually have more power
- 3:38than you think. All you have to do is stay in no
- 3:42contact. However, if you keep breaking no
- 3:45contact, after a week or two, they're going to be right back
- 3:49in that relief stage. Now, you may have heard me say
- 3:52that avoidance are like feral cats.
- 3:56So if a feral cat is at your door and it feels like it wants
- 4:01to take a step inside, but you come running to the door, then
- 4:04it's going to run away. And that's exactly what's going
- 4:07to happen with an avoidant. They may be thinking about
- 4:12contacting you or getting closer, but all of a sudden you
- 4:16do something and they get scared and Yikes, no.
- 4:20So stay in no contact. Now.
- 4:24This is when they'll start to have conflicting emotions and
- 4:28we'll wonder if they made the right decision.
- 4:31They're going to be on an emotional roller coaster ride,
- 4:35and that's good news for you. Sometimes they'll be certain
- 4:38they made the right decision and other times they're going to
- 4:41think it was a mistake. It's finally starting to hit
- 4:44them that the relationship may really be over for good.
- 4:48So if you were a good little soldier and you stayed in no
- 4:51contact, they'll also be starting to miss you and realize
- 4:56what you brought to their life. And a lot of people have used my
- 4:59app Silencio to help them stay in no contact.
- 5:03So be sure to check that out. And the link is below every
- 5:07video and podcast as always. Next, your ex is going to feel a
- 5:11void. And this is when you become the
- 5:15phantom X. And a phantom X is just the
- 5:18ghost of a past partner, even though that X is no longer
- 5:22physically around. And you can tell that someone
- 5:25has a phantom X if they mention their XA lot, they'll say things
- 5:29like, well, my X used to do this and my X used to say this.
- 5:33Or if someone is still emotionally attached to their X,
- 5:38then it's a phantom X. And that's usually because
- 5:42they're still angry about it. Nostalgic.
- 5:45Curious or stalking them on social media?
- 5:52Next, Finally, they will want to reach out to you, but they're
- 5:58also afraid of rejection, so they may be reaching out because
- 6:03they genuinely want you back or because they don't want you to
- 6:07move on. Yeah, I know it's messed up.
- 6:10And this is when they start testing the waters when
- 6:14avoidance hover with the bread crumbing nostalgic texts I miss
- 6:19you with no follow through. They're often just wondering if
- 6:24you're still an option without wanting to commit.
- 6:28And this is where most people get played.
- 6:31They break no contact and the avoidance thinks cool, they're
- 6:35still hooked and disappears again.
- 6:38This is why I always strongly advise against responding to
- 6:42bread crumbs. They need to put in effort and
- 6:45show that they regret the decision.
- 6:47And they do want you back. And when they contact you, you
- 6:52need to determine whether they really are interested in getting
- 6:56back together or they're just trying to keep you on the hook
- 6:59and trying to keep you from moving on.
- 7:01And that can be hard to figure out, which is why I offer
- 7:05one-on-one coaching to help you understand what's actually going
- 7:08on. And the link to get coaching is,
- 7:11of course, underneath every single video and podcast.
- 7:14Now, if you do decide to take them back, I would strongly
- 7:18recommend that you let them know that the prerequisite for
- 7:22getting back together is for them to work on their avoidant
- 7:26attachment style. Otherwise, it's very possible
- 7:29they'll pull away or break up with you again.
- 7:32And we do not want that, right? So now I want to hear from you.
- 7:37How long have you been in No contact and how is it going?
