- 0:53social media, you'll see 4 videos a day from me because I'm
- 0:56just obsessed with born to help people.
- 0:57Guys, this the whole idea of diet is quite a controversial 1.
- 1:00You hear some kind of people saying like, oh you know, the
- 1:04gluten free diet helps people with autism overcome some issues
- 1:06and all this kind of stuff. And what I do believe that
- 1:08gluten intolerance is, you know, can create a difficult life for
- 1:12anybody, not just one of the autism spectrum.
- 1:14I don't believe it's the sole way to overcome issues or or
- 1:18help manage issues on the autism spectrum.
- 1:19However, I will say though, is that because autistic
- 1:22individuals have such fast-paced brains and that mind's going
- 1:271000 miles an hour, they're burning 2 calories like nobody's
- 1:29business. And they're chasing dopamine
- 1:30constantly, which means that fizzy drinks, high caffeinated
- 1:33drinks and, and candy and, and soda pop and, and stuff like
- 1:37pizza and junk food, like all these things are dopamine rich,
- 1:39right? And so they're going to create a
- 1:41dopamine high for anybody who, who's chasing those.
- 1:44And so autistic people are, you know, susceptible to that.
- 1:47Now if I were to say that the chicken Nuggets should be the
- 1:50international symbol for autism, then everyone would be agreeing
- 1:52right? Now give this video a thumbs up
- 1:54if you agree that the chicken nugget is kind of like the
- 1:56symbol of autism. But unfortunately, the chicken
- 1:58nugget isn't very varied in nutrients.
- 2:00It's not very high in anything other than protein and fats.
- 2:03So this leads me to the rule of diet in autism.
- 2:06Now in order to function, autistic people will will need a
- 2:10lot of varied nutrients. Because when you're faced with a
- 2:14fast pacing brain, you're burning through calories, you're
- 2:16burning through, you know, mega amounts of energy all day.
- 2:19You can't just really survive on chicken Nuggets.
- 2:20You know, yes, it's going to give you protein.
- 2:22Yes, it's going to give you a little bit of energy.
- 2:23You do need good carbohydrates. You need a mix of vitamins and
- 2:26multivitamins. Now, the best way to do this,
- 2:28obviously have a varied diet because I keep your brain at
- 2:30maximum function and keep your brain at maximum efficiency.
- 2:32And the autism brain is a delicate, perfect, amazing
- 2:34thing, so you want to treat it as such.
- 2:37But I know autistic individuals do not like a lot of varied
- 2:40foods. This is very common and I get
- 2:42it. So what did I do to change this?
- 2:44Now I'm just like any other, you know, autistic individual.
- 2:46If I could just eat chicken Nuggets for the rest of my life,
- 2:48that would be the same. Even though I'm vegan, I still
- 2:50eat vegan chicken Nuggets, right?
- 2:51However, I decided to add in smoothies to my diet because I
- 2:55like fruit juices and I like kind of fruit in general.
- 2:58I like sweet tasting things. So if you can have a smoothie
- 3:01that tastes like a milkshake every day, you win because you
- 3:04with much nutrients and that's possible.
- 3:05They can Jack full all good healthy stuff.
- 3:07I actually prefer green juices now because they look green, but
- 3:10they taste like tropical juice because you can put in like
- 3:12lemons and pineapples and apples and berries and stuff in it.
- 3:16By introducing those into your diet, what you will do is cover
- 3:18the fact that there's a deficit for nutrients in the autism diet
- 3:22and also satisfy that need for a bit of dopamine hit.
- 3:25It's a win, win situation. Now, I'd love to know your like
- 3:28experience on this and your your input.
