- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by the hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi Adam here and this is a hypnosis session all about
- 0:45personal pride and enthusiasm and I was working with a client
- 0:51that had an unhealthy relationship with their parent.
- 0:55Their parent, mainly their father was a very insecure
- 0:59person that would always kind of criticize judge made them feel
- 1:02small. And because of that, they were
- 1:06carrying a lot of shame and trepidation that if they did
- 1:10something good, it would just be kind of pulled apart, mocked or
- 1:13criticized by someone else. And they were feeling this way
- 1:17in their business and it was really becoming a block because
- 1:21they didn't want to kind of do their work to the level that
- 1:24they could do their work. Because they thought thought
- 1:27that it would be almost a, a tall poppy syndrome that they'd
- 1:31be building themselves up just to have this kind of come
- 1:34crashing down this horrible fall afterwards.
- 1:37So what this does is it utilizes 2 key things. 1A metaphor for
- 1:41letting go of baggage and beliefs and unresourceful
- 1:45emotions as physical weights that they they drop while
- 1:49they're climbing up a hill. But then on the hill, there's
- 1:52two pathways staying the same or making a change.
- 1:55And making a change is really becoming proud of what they do,
- 1:58feeling that what they do makes a difference, feeling that they
- 2:02can be enthusiastic. And also crucially, feeling that
- 2:06if other people don't like what they do or criticize what they
- 2:09do, then it says more about them than it does about who they
- 2:14were. Because many insecure people
- 2:17like to criticize and mock other people.
- 2:20But these are the very people that aren't doing anything.
- 2:24And I experienced this every now and then.
- 2:26I've I've published about 1800 hypnosis sessions and every now
- 2:31and then I'll get someone with a snidey comment or a cheap shot.
- 2:36And, and for me, doesn't bother me at all because I know that
- 2:39I've helped of people and I have a great deal of confidence in my
- 2:42abilities, but it does tell me more about that individual.
- 2:46By the way, I love constructive feedback.
- 2:49I've had feedback about audio quality sometimes or kind of
- 2:53background noises. And for those that's
- 2:55constructive. But if it's just kind of snarky
- 2:57comments, I don't, that doesn't faze me at all.
- 2:59That tells me more about the person making the comment than
- 3:02it does for me. But some people really are
- 3:05bothered by those things and this hypnosis session is
- 3:08designed for them. By the way, it's really good for
- 3:12the algorithm, whether we're on the podcasts or YouTube.
- 3:15So if you do like what I'm doing, please drop a positive
- 3:18comment down below or constructive criticism because
- 3:22it just helps the algorithm. More people will hear this
- 3:25stuff. If you like the idea of having
- 3:27more personal pride, doesn't have to be for work or business
- 3:30related, it could just be in life, then I think you'll get
- 3:33some value from this session. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 3:37place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:39Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:01you breathe in, breathe in that feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:08And as you exhale, feel a wonderful sense of release, as
- 4:16if any tension, stress, and worries are starting to leave
- 4:21your body in your outward breath, each breath taking you
- 4:27deeper and deeper than the last. That's in.
- 4:36And as you breathe in, breathe in slower than you normally
- 4:39would. And as you exhale, exhale for
- 4:45longer. So each breath gets deeper and
- 4:51longer than the last breathing in that feeling of resourceful
- 4:56relaxation. And as you exhale, allow that to
- 5:03be the release valve, meaning that you can leave and release
- 5:11and exhale any tension, stress, or worries in that outward
- 5:18breath. That's it.
- 5:26Deeper and deeper, relaxed. And I want you to use the power
- 5:34of your imagination to imagine a hill, a slow gradient with large
- 5:46cedar trees, and just imagine you're at the flat area before
- 5:54the gradient. And I want you to imagine you
- 6:01are attached to lots of small weights.
- 6:10I want you to imagine it might be a kilo around your ankle, 5
- 6:17kilos or 10 lbs on your back. Just imagine lots of weights
- 6:26attached to different parts of your body.
- 6:32I want you to get a sense that you're about to walk up this
- 6:36gradient, and I want you to allow these weights to represent
- 6:45old beliefs, old feelings of shame, old feelings of
- 6:51unworthiness. And I want you to get a sense
- 6:55then you can just walk up this hill carrying these weights.
- 7:05But doesn't it make it harder to do that?
- 7:09Perhaps you can imagine 10 or 15 or more of these awaits, all
- 7:13attached to different parts of your body.
- 7:18It feels cumbersome and clunky, heavy.
- 7:24And I want you to decide that every few steps you're going to
- 7:30let one of these weights go. And maybe they represent some
- 7:39silly belief, like technology is bad.
- 7:46Maybe it's a thought, like if someone was to criticize you,
- 7:52that it means your work isn't good enough.
- 7:57Each way represents a no longer new way of thinking, almost like
- 8:11each belief is something unuseful, something you are
- 8:17willing to let go of. So just imagine they're attached
- 8:24to you in different ways. Some might be tied to you, some
- 8:30might be stuck to you, some might be wrapped around you with
- 8:34tape. But just imagine slowly walking
- 8:39up the hill where the hill meets the trees.
- 8:45Every few moments, detach one of these weights and continue
- 8:51walking forward. And each time you detach a
- 8:56weight, you feel lighter than you did before.
- 9:03And every time you imagine detaching a weight, let me know
- 9:07by nodding your head. That's it.
- 9:14Few more steps, release another 1A
- 9:28few more steps and then release another one.
- 9:32And the good thing is, is that you don't need to know
- 9:35specifically what these beliefs are, what these emotions are,
- 9:42because your unconscious knows. Because the suggestion here is
- 9:49that these are unuseful beliefs, disempowering beliefs, unuseful
- 9:57emotions or disempowering emotions.
- 10:01And therefore by letting them go, you become more resourceful,
- 10:06lighter. And the lighter you feel, the
- 10:11faster you can walk. And once all of that excess
- 10:17baggage and weights have been released, just let me know by
- 10:22nodding your head. That's it.
- 10:31And if every now and then you feel something unuseful and
- 10:38resourceful, you can discard it just like you've done all the
- 10:43others. In the same way that if you
- 10:47weeded a garden and got out all of the weeds and a new weed
- 10:52sprouted, you wouldn't feel frustrated, you would just think
- 10:59it's easy to pick just one more weed.
- 11:04So if any of these thoughts, beliefs, emotions come up that
- 11:11just aren't useful for you, just imagine letting a go of a weight
- 11:18or pulling a weed out by its roots, knowing that the quality
- 11:26of your life is enhanced by holding on to useful beliefs and
- 11:32disregarding unuseful beliefs. And I want this hill to
- 11:40represent success. And as you walk up a path
- 11:47surrounded by trees, I want you to see the path splits into two.
- 11:57One pathway stays at the same level on the hill, you just do a
- 12:03big circle and end up where you are.
- 12:06Whereas the other path may initially seem like a more
- 12:11challenging path, but it takes you higher up towards the top of
- 12:17the hill. But let's imagine what doing
- 12:25things the same would look like. I want you to imagine observing
- 12:31yourself like you're looking at a stranger.
- 12:35And I want you to imagine what it would be like if you kept on
- 12:40doing what you have been doing for another five years, feeling
- 12:47a sense of maybe being an imposter.
- 12:53I'm proud of your work. Sometimes sabotaging things in
- 13:00certain ways because there's fear.
- 13:05Fear of success for a failure, fear of judgement.
- 13:09But I want you to imagine watching five years of that,
- 13:14knowing your children will be looking at you as a role model
- 13:22and you will be unconsciously showing them what it would be
- 13:27like to settle, to live in fear. Fear of judgement, fear of
- 13:34criticism. I want you to see one of those
- 13:41clients you would have lost, all those exciting projects you
- 13:47would have missed out on, and also the impact on you because
- 13:56if you're not moving forward, sometimes it can feel like
- 14:01stagnation. A stream has clean water if it's
- 14:06constantly moving, but the moment the stream turns into a
- 14:12pardon, A puddle or a pond, it just stagnates.
- 14:19I want you to get a sense of what stagnation would look like,
- 14:24and if you have subconsciously decided that is not the future
- 14:30you want, let me know by nodding your head.
- 14:34That's in. So then imagine observing the
- 14:39trickier part that goes upwards. This is the version of you with
- 14:45more enthusiasm, more confidence, and more pride than
- 14:50ever before. This is the version of you that
- 14:55totally owns an identity of success and accomplishment.
- 15:04This is a version of you that when people criticize, they're
- 15:08not threatened. This is a version of you with
- 15:12rock solid security and self assurance.
- 15:17I want you to see that version of you.
- 15:21Big plans, big goals, taking on big projects, growing in
- 15:28confidence with every work that you do.
- 15:33This is a version of you that collects testimonials, like
- 15:36medals, evidence of your competency, and you share them
- 15:42with other people until it gets to a point where that version of
- 15:50you is immune from criticism or judgement because you have too
- 15:57much evidence as to your competency.
- 16:03I want you to see that version of you, a pioneer, an innovator,
- 16:10a wizard. And I want you to see the
- 16:16difference between the version of you that stays where you are
- 16:21and the version of you that takes pride and enthusiasm in
- 16:26what you do. And if you can see the
- 16:31difference, let me know by nodding your head.
- 16:37But more importantly, if you can feel the difference, let me know
- 16:42by nodding your head and then step into one of those versions
- 16:50of you. You could choose to stay the
- 16:52same, or you could choose that version of you that has let go
- 16:58of those disempowering beliefs, stepped into pride, enthusiasm,
- 17:04motivation, knowing, knowing that this version of you can
- 17:10accomplish more, generate more, and have more financial success.
- 17:18And with that financial success, I want you to see that that
- 17:21version of you shares it with your family.
- 17:26Your success is their success, and therefore, the more
- 17:31successful you are, the more successful they are.
- 17:37And as you step into that version of you, imagine what it
- 17:41would feel like waking up tomorrow.
- 17:46Imagine what it would feel like doing a big project.
- 17:50And even if it was mocked or criticized by other people, you
- 17:56couldn't care less. I don't want you to imagine what
- 18:01it would be like 5 years from now, growing reputation, even
- 18:09more ideas and competency. Because when you do good work,
- 18:13you think of more ideas to do even better work.
- 18:19And I want you to imagine what it would be climbing up that
- 18:22hill. And if it feels good and that
- 18:26everyone that you love benefits, let me know by nodding your
- 18:29head. That's it.
- 18:34So now you can walk down that hill feeling like you couldn't
- 18:40care less what other people think.
- 18:44The only important person is the client.
- 18:49If the client is happy, you are happy, and if they are
- 18:54delighted, then you are delighted.
- 18:58And even those rare occasions they're disappointed, that will
- 19:01activate the curious version of you to learn from that
- 19:06experience. Because in life you either win
- 19:12or you learn. Success is not a destination,
- 19:21it's a journey towards that destination.
- 19:25And you will feel that the journey itself prepares you for
- 19:31the destination. So now you leave that pathway,
- 19:40walk all the way back, surrounded by cedar trees.
- 19:44But just like as Hansel and Gretel saw the bread crumbs
- 19:48they'd left behind, I want you to see these weights discarded
- 19:53on the trail, reminding yourself those thoughts, beliefs, and
- 19:59heavy emotions were never yours. These were things that people
- 20:05gave to you and for a while you were carrying them around.
- 20:09But you're not doing that anymore.
- 20:12The evidence that you've discarded them is all around you
- 20:16as you walk back to where you became and then float back to
- 20:21your present body, listening to my voice.
- 20:25Take a deep breath in through the nose and out through your
- 20:30nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 20:33your toes, Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 20:38now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 20:43Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 20:52Open your eyes, open your eyes, 910.
- 20:55Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
- 21:03Thank you so much for joining me on this episode of The
- 21:08Hypnotist. And if you've got some value
- 21:11from this episode, I'd like to ask a favour.
- 21:14And that is that all of the platforms have some way of you
- 21:19telling us that you like it. And that might be hitting the
- 21:22like button that might be giving it a five star rating or a short
- 21:26review. And if it's possible, and it is
- 21:29on Spotify and YouTube, if you can drop a comment with what
- 21:32value you got from the show or anything you liked in
- 21:35particular, that really helps the algorithm to put it in front
- 21:39of new people. Thank you so much again for
- 21:41joining me on this episode and I'll see you again soon in the
- 21:45next one.
