- 0:04Speaker 1: the Order Kerni Whoalbury and a waddery woman. And before
- 0:08Speaker 1: we get started on She's on the Money podcast, I
- 0:11Speaker 1: would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land
- 0:14Speaker 1: of which this podcast is recorded on a wondery country,
- 0:18Speaker 1: acknowledging the elders, the ancestors and the next generation coming
- 0:22Speaker 1: through as this podcast is about connecting, empowering, knowledge sharing
- 0:27Speaker 1: and the storytelling of you to make a difference for
- 0:30Speaker 1: today and lasting impact for tomorrow.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Let's get into it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: She's on the Money, She's on the Money.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to She Is on the Money, the
- 1:00Speaker 2: podcast a millennials who want financial freedom. Welcome back to
- 1:05Speaker 2: another one of our money diaries, where this week there
- 1:07Speaker 2: is a little bit of a twist. Instead of having
- 1:10Speaker 2: an anonymous money diary, I'm bringing you what I'm gonna
- 1:13Speaker 2: call celeb money Diaries. Not that our guest this week
- 1:17Speaker 2: is a celeb Like, we're just stretching it because she's
- 1:19Speaker 2: gonna be one day. I'd like to introduce you to
- 1:22Speaker 2: my internet friend, R and B artist and content creator
- 1:26Speaker 2: Hannah Sance. Hannah, Welcome to the show.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Hello, thank you for having me.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I am so excited about this. This is our first
- 1:35Speaker 2: like public money diary where people can go and follow
- 1:38Speaker 2: you and see what you're up to. But one of
- 1:41Speaker 2: the things that instantly drew me to your content one
- 1:44Speaker 2: before you started doing any type of budgeting content, was
- 1:47Speaker 2: that you're an epic R and B artist, Like I
- 1:50Speaker 2: have been following you for so long and vice versa.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I think because the other day I was looking at
- 1:55Speaker 2: like an old post trying to find some engagement stats
- 1:58Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, that's I'm like sixty eight
- 2:00Speaker 2: weeks ago, and Hannah's commenting that's me.
- 2:04Speaker 4: I was trolling that she's on the money posts ages ago.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I like it. I appreciate it, and thank you for
- 2:09Speaker 2: trolling them in a really kind way, like it was
- 2:11Speaker 2: never like, you know, actual troll content. But Hannah, your
- 2:15Speaker 2: TikTok bio says you used to be average, but you're
- 2:18Speaker 2: trying to be better and the content that you create
- 2:21Speaker 2: is really around money and music and lifestyle. And you've
- 2:25Speaker 2: recently gone viral a few times and been picked up
- 2:28Speaker 2: by the likes of the Daily Mail, which can be
- 2:31Speaker 2: good and can be bad. Let's be honest, because you
- 2:34Speaker 2: are so brutally honest about your budgeting. Tell me why
- 2:38Speaker 2: you started creating content like this?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Oh?
- 2:41Speaker 4: I love this. In this season, I'm just obsessed with
- 2:43Speaker 4: speaking about money, so I'm just like so excited for
- 2:45Speaker 4: this conversation.
- 2:46Speaker 2: The same girl, welcome to the show.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel bad. Why did I start creating content
- 2:51Speaker 4: like this? I saw something on my for you page
- 2:54Speaker 4: that was a what I spend in a week and
- 2:56Speaker 4: it was by a TikTok creator Ella McGrath I think
- 2:59Speaker 4: her name is. I love her content, and I was
- 3:02Speaker 4: so incredibly triggered and I was just like I remember
- 3:04Speaker 4: hearing my internal voice just be like I would never
- 3:08Speaker 4: ever share what I spend my money on on the internet.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But then you did. Though.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Immediately I clocked that, and I was like, that is interesting.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I don't have that feeling about many things. And I
- 3:18Speaker 4: was like, well, that's exactly what I'm going to do.
- 3:20Speaker 4: And it was like the next day I started planning,
- 3:22Speaker 4: Like it took me a little while to plan how
- 3:23Speaker 4: I was going to execute it, but I was like,
- 3:24Speaker 4: this is something I'm going to do.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I love it because it's not just oh, here's how
- 3:29Speaker 2: a budget works, and I feel like so many times
- 3:32Speaker 2: when I see content creators online creating budget content, I
- 3:36Speaker 2: don't know how to articulate this without offending anyone. And
- 3:39Speaker 2: you and Ella are great at being transparent, but there
- 3:41Speaker 2: seems to be this really aspirational vibe from their content
- 3:46Speaker 2: where a lot of people might look at it and go, oh,
- 3:48Speaker 2: they are actually like obviously they're sharing their budget because
- 3:51Speaker 2: they're really good at it. Like, oh, they're obviously sharing
- 3:53Speaker 2: their budget because they're a really high income earner and
- 3:57Speaker 2: you know they can afford for oat lata a day
- 4:00Speaker 2: and that seems really fair, and you kind of go, well,
- 4:04Speaker 2: how have you found this balance? I suppose of just
- 4:07Speaker 2: being like, nah, let's be real. It's me. I'm Hannah,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I have a husband, I have a beautiful son, and
- 4:12Speaker 2: you know this is what we spend and this month,
- 4:14Speaker 2: like we didn't save and we had a really great time.
- 4:18Speaker 2: How has that content shaped the type of following that
- 4:22Speaker 2: you've gained since then? Like is it all about being transparent?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Are you now empowered by it? Or are you like
- 4:27Speaker 2: far out? I wish I didn't share that, So I.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Am so empowered by it. I think a big thing
- 4:32Speaker 4: and this obviously ties so much into like my money story.
- 4:36Speaker 4: When I grew up, my family had a lot of
- 4:38Speaker 4: secrecy and shame around money, or it was just something
- 4:40Speaker 4: that was argued about, so it was just like, Okay,
- 4:43Speaker 4: cool money equals problems. So when I grew up to
- 4:46Speaker 4: be an adult and have my own money, I just
- 4:48Speaker 4: had no concept on being sensible with that money. It
- 4:52Speaker 4: was such an uncomfortable relationship with money. So I feel
- 4:54Speaker 4: like I started to notice, especially after becoming a mum,
- 4:57Speaker 4: other moms I would talk to, like I don't know
- 5:00Speaker 4: which just people I was speaking to, but there's just
- 5:01Speaker 4: a lot of secrecy and a lot of like you know,
- 5:03Speaker 4: people holding back when speaking about money. And I just
- 5:06Speaker 4: thought this could be so empowering, Like if I saw
- 5:08Speaker 4: this content five years ago, oh my god, like I
- 5:11Speaker 4: would feel so empowered and so seen. And that was
- 5:14Speaker 4: exactly the feedback I got. People are messaging me just
- 5:16Speaker 4: being like I feel so seen by your content with
- 5:19Speaker 4: your budgeting, like and people stop me on the street
- 5:21Speaker 4: They're like, oh my god, I love your budgeting content.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I'm like, never did I ever one think I'd be
- 5:25Speaker 4: known for budgeting. Secondly, be on a finance podcast like
- 5:28Speaker 4: this is someone who's you know, habitually told myself I'm
- 5:31Speaker 4: bad with money, So it's like, literally, who is she?
- 5:34Speaker 2: So tell me a bit about who you used to be.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I suppose in your TikTok buyo you say used to
- 5:40Speaker 2: be average, but I'm trying to be better. What does
- 5:42Speaker 2: used to be average even mean?
- 5:43Speaker 4: So this is a preface for a lot of my
- 5:45Speaker 4: content in the direction I'm going at the moment. Because
- 5:48Speaker 4: I was like that notorious party girl, terrible with money,
- 5:51Speaker 4: and upon reflection, like my early twenties, mid twenties was
- 5:56Speaker 4: a lot of self discovery but kind of catapultar Like
- 6:01Speaker 4: my parents split up when I was in year twelve,
- 6:03Speaker 4: so about twenty twelve, and then my dad passed away
- 6:06Speaker 4: sadly in twenty seventeen. So I was very like fiercely independent.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Like in my early twenties, I was living abroad and
- 6:14Speaker 4: things like that. I had such negative habits like with money,
- 6:17Speaker 4: with lifestyle, with food, with alcohol, and a few years
- 6:20Speaker 4: ago when I met my beautiful partner, he was like
- 6:22Speaker 4: a really big turning point for me, and we both
- 6:24Speaker 4: were just like life can be so much better than this,
- 6:27Speaker 4: you know what I mean? One hundred percent just exercise, money, food.
- 6:32Speaker 4: It's funny, like twenty twenty, we went so bad the
- 6:34Speaker 4: same time, we started being hyper aware of like how
- 6:35Speaker 4: we spent our money and how our money behaviors impacted
- 6:38Speaker 4: our happiness.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I love that.
- 6:40Speaker 4: It was like this big, just momentous ball that kept
- 6:44Speaker 4: growing and we just started being better across the board,
- 6:47Speaker 4: and I'm like, wow, our life is so much better now.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Obviously you went through a series of traumas for that,
- 6:53Speaker 2: but often you find that it's one party in a
- 6:56Speaker 2: relationship who wants to go down that route and the
- 6:59Speaker 2: other's like, oh you doing babe, Like this isn't us.
- 7:02Speaker 2: How were you so on the same page about this.
- 7:06Speaker 4: He's Brazilian, so he's just different to Australian men that
- 7:09Speaker 4: I've been with. But he was just immediately like I
- 7:12Speaker 4: can't wait to be a father. He has these really
- 7:14Speaker 4: traditional Brazilian Catholic values and having that like stability with
- 7:18Speaker 4: something I've never experienced before, and it just maybe want
- 7:21Speaker 4: to be better, Like we used to smoke and drink.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Like when you look at how much money you're spending
- 7:25Speaker 4: on alcohol cigarets, it was like what are we doing?
- 7:28Speaker 4: Like this is crazy? It just made sense. I think
- 7:31Speaker 4: when I first said to him about like the direction
- 7:32Speaker 4: I wanted to go, it was a bit of like, oh,
- 7:35Speaker 4: like a bit uncomfortable. Then it was like, this is
- 7:37Speaker 4: the obvious choice.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I love it so much. All Right, I'm gonna ask
- 7:40Speaker 2: you some of the stereotypical money diary questions because you
- 7:43Speaker 2: don't get out of those, you just have to do
- 7:45Speaker 2: them publicly. So let's start with grades on money. So
- 7:49Speaker 2: what grade would you give your money habits if I
- 7:51Speaker 2: asked you to give them a grade from A through
- 7:53Speaker 2: to F.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I knew this question was coming, and it's interesting because, like,
- 7:56Speaker 4: I have consumed so much these other money over the years,
- 8:00Speaker 4: it's like quite surreal, like sitting here but also hearing
- 8:03Speaker 4: those questions. And when I thought about the question, my
- 8:06Speaker 4: initial reaction was a lower grade. Yeah, But then I thought,
- 8:11Speaker 4: what do my habits now actually tell us about my
- 8:14Speaker 4: money habits now? So I think I would give myself
- 8:17Speaker 4: a B minus.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I like that you've really thought about it as well,
- 8:20Speaker 2: because I think so many times we just have this
- 8:23Speaker 2: underlying assumption of ourselves that we aren't good at money,
- 8:26Speaker 2: and that you know, even though you're practicing being good
- 8:30Speaker 2: at money, and your budgeting at the moment, it kind
- 8:32Speaker 2: of feels a bit like a cosplay. You're like, oh yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 2: but I'm just practicing that right now. Deep down I'm
- 8:37Speaker 2: not good at it when the reality is like you've
- 8:39Speaker 2: changed your reality. So I love the b minus. I
- 8:42Speaker 2: think that is fantastic. Tell me a little bit more
- 8:45Speaker 2: about I guess your money story as well. So you've
- 8:49Speaker 2: explained that your parents split in grade twelve, which would
- 8:51Speaker 2: have been not only traumatic because any parent splitting sucks,
- 8:55Speaker 2: but like year twelve is such a pivotal period of
- 8:58Speaker 2: time as well to go through. So just upheaving, tell
- 9:03Speaker 2: us a little bit more about I guess how you
- 9:05Speaker 2: learned about money growing up and then what you're trying
- 9:08Speaker 2: to teach your son about money.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Okay, So being a parent now, it's really shone a
- 9:15Speaker 4: light on like just how different parenting was for our
- 9:17Speaker 4: parents generation. Like everyone has different information accessible to them,
- 9:21Speaker 4: but it was a different world in the parenting game.
- 9:23Speaker 4: And I feel like my parents had a lot of
- 9:25Speaker 4: conversations around us as kids that I probably wouldn't have
- 9:31Speaker 4: around my children, and especially with money, like it was
- 9:34Speaker 4: just always a point of arguing or it was like
- 9:37Speaker 4: kind of used as you know, a tool, like oh,
- 9:40Speaker 4: can I have this thing as a kid, And it's
- 9:41Speaker 4: like no, because we've spent the money on X. You know,
- 9:44Speaker 4: it's just like not information that you need as a child.
- 9:46Speaker 2: No, And it feels overwhelming, like you just go, oh sorry, dad, Like,
- 9:50Speaker 2: oh now I feel like a burden and a child
- 9:52Speaker 2: should never feel like a burden.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Oh one hundred percent, you feel guilty. Let's be real.
- 9:57Speaker 4: It was really messy and my dad was a a contractor,
- 10:01Speaker 4: I guess, like a consultant, so there would be like
- 10:03Speaker 4: big influxes of money and then big spendings of money,
- 10:06Speaker 4: so they'd be like one like really lavish Christmas and
- 10:08Speaker 4: like lots of presents, and then they would be like
- 10:10Speaker 4: really tight. They'd be like no money. So it was
- 10:12Speaker 4: just really unstable. So I think I had this association
- 10:14Speaker 4: with money that it was not stable, not safe, can't
- 10:17Speaker 4: be talked about healthily and just yuck.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah fair, and like that's kind of what you were
- 10:22Speaker 2: shown as well. And I think it's so challenging for
- 10:25Speaker 2: kids because like you don't conceptualize you know, erratic income,
- 10:29Speaker 2: like you can't understand oh well dad just got this
- 10:32Speaker 2: really big contract and that makes sense. You just go,
- 10:35Speaker 2: why did we have that? Now we don't have that,
- 10:37Speaker 2: Like you feel like you've lost something. And I think
- 10:40Speaker 2: that that carries through to adulthood and the way that
- 10:42Speaker 2: we spend, and often if we've been through traumatic periods
- 10:46Speaker 2: like that, we start spending without a lot of regard
- 10:50Speaker 2: because you just go, oh, well, money comes and goes,
- 10:52Speaker 2: like we'll probably come into a big bulk amount of
- 10:55Speaker 2: it at some point and we'll be fine and I'll
- 10:57Speaker 2: pay off that debt. But it's not necessarily true.
- 11:00Speaker 4: I worked since I was like fourteen, and then when
- 11:02Speaker 4: I turned eighteen, went stra right to the bank, got
- 11:07Speaker 4: a credit card, and went to Europe.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yep, slay like it's not even a bad thing to
- 11:14Speaker 2: talk about. I think it's just I didn't have the
- 11:17Speaker 2: level of financial literacy that I want to afford everybody
- 11:21Speaker 2: and else. She's on the money community, right, Like I
- 11:24Speaker 2: grew up with a dad who was fantastic at money,
- 11:27Speaker 2: like he's an accountant, Like he's brilliant at it. I
- 11:30Speaker 2: just look at it and go I wasn't ready to
- 11:33Speaker 2: hear what he wanted to share with me, though, And
- 11:35Speaker 2: I find that's so interesting because so many times people
- 11:39Speaker 2: will say like, oh, yeah, well your dad was an
- 11:41Speaker 2: account it makes sense that your financial advice, right, Arahan,
- 11:44Speaker 2: I'm like no, Like I think I automatically just bucked
- 11:48Speaker 2: at you know, this idea that my parents knew what
- 11:50Speaker 2: they were talking about. Like, you know, I remember crying
- 11:53Speaker 2: at the dining table because my dad would be like,
- 11:56Speaker 2: you have to do your maths homework or you have
- 11:57Speaker 2: to learn your times tables or whatever, and I'd literally
- 11:59Speaker 2: be like crying because I didn't want to do it.
- 12:01Speaker 4: A big you don't know how hard it is.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And then I became this adult who needed to get
- 12:06Speaker 2: into debt so that I learnt how painful that was
- 12:09Speaker 2: so I could get out of debt and now teach
- 12:11Speaker 2: others how to stay out of it. And a lot
- 12:13Speaker 2: of people go, don't you regret that? And I go, well,
- 12:14Speaker 2: not really, like it's part of my journey and sorry, Dad,
- 12:18Speaker 2: still love you, Please don't hate me for this.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I love that.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Sorry I didn't listen.
- 12:22Speaker 4: And that's such a beautiful like time because when I
- 12:26Speaker 4: did go to Europe, like, yeah, I had some big
- 12:27Speaker 4: years and I had to learn that lesson too. But
- 12:30Speaker 4: when I was learning that lesson was right when she's
- 12:32Speaker 4: on the money started. Oh, welcome, welcome, And I remember
- 12:35Speaker 4: someone at my work just being like, have you listened
- 12:38Speaker 4: to that? I started listening and that was like the
- 12:41Speaker 4: start of me getting out of debt. And that was
- 12:43Speaker 4: the start of everything, like this whole journey, which is like,
- 12:46Speaker 4: when did she'sa on the Money start? What year?
- 12:48Speaker 2: Oh, like twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen depends on whether you
- 12:51Speaker 2: were introduced to the podcast or the Facebook group podcast.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, so twenty nineteen. Wow, Yeah, that was the
- 12:58Speaker 4: beginning of it all. So I was like, yeah, about
- 12:59Speaker 4: twenty five that was when I started getting out of debt.
- 13:01Speaker 4: And that was like just listening to you, having you
- 13:03Speaker 4: in my ears and having the community members and you.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I think that was the start of such an incredible
- 13:08Speaker 4: revolution for millennial Australian women to hear that other people
- 13:11Speaker 4: were going through money shit and they're not just like
- 13:13Speaker 4: the only one, you know, And that's what it was
- 13:16Speaker 4: for me. And I was like, Okay, I can do this,
- 13:18Speaker 4: and I got out of like twenty grand of debt,
- 13:19Speaker 4: which was just insane.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I love that so much. I adore it. Hannah.
- 13:24Speaker 2: We know you're an R and B artist, You're a
- 13:25Speaker 2: content creator. You're a mum, but we now need to
- 13:28Speaker 2: know the deep nitty gritty what do you technically do
- 13:31Speaker 2: for work and how much money are you earning?
- 13:34Speaker 4: Okay, so technically I am a content creator. I have
- 13:38Speaker 4: a business where I do content strategy, so I work
- 13:41Speaker 4: with business owners and content creators to grow their social
- 13:44Speaker 4: medias and it's all kind of under the same umbrella.
- 13:47Speaker 4: So I have content strategy, and I'm a content creator,
- 13:50Speaker 4: and I do music, and I earn income from all
- 13:51Speaker 4: three of those avenues.
- 13:53Speaker 2: That is literally so slay. If we said a percentage breakdown,
- 13:58Speaker 2: would you say that, like, content strategy is number one,
- 14:01Speaker 2: then your content creator is number two, and music is three.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Yes, that's very accurate at the moment, I would say.
- 14:09Speaker 4: So my business is Socially Sands. That's my content strategy business.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And it's in its first year officially started in July
- 14:15Speaker 4: after I came off maternity leave with my son. It's
- 14:18Speaker 4: always changing, but I've estimated this year gross I'll earn
- 14:21Speaker 4: about one sixty.
- 14:23Speaker 2: How good is that? Oh? Yeah, first year out? Oh,
- 14:26Speaker 2: I'll just earn one sixty. What they're hecking? How did
- 14:30Speaker 2: you go from being Oh, I'm on Matt leave. You
- 14:33Speaker 2: know what I'm going to do come July. I'll start
- 14:35Speaker 2: my own business. And it's not just going to be
- 14:37Speaker 2: like a small business where I have to sacrifice a lot.
- 14:40Speaker 2: How have you gone from being, you know, literally on
- 14:43Speaker 2: matt leave to earning approximately one sixty Well.
- 14:47Speaker 4: One of my favorite things to talk about and the
- 14:49Speaker 4: way that we connected is TikTok. And I was like
- 14:52Speaker 4: so many other millennial women who was just like, I
- 14:55Speaker 4: don't get TikTok. It's just people dancing. I don't understand it,
- 14:59Speaker 4: Like I'll i'll ever be on there. And when my
- 15:02Speaker 4: son was six months old and I was me and
- 15:05Speaker 4: I was giving myself the ick, like as an artist,
- 15:07Speaker 4: you hear about how transformational TikTok can be for people,
- 15:11Speaker 4: and I was like, why am I like this? Like
- 15:12Speaker 4: why do I have this limiting belief that I can't
- 15:14Speaker 4: do it? It's because I wasn't really giving it my all.
- 15:17Speaker 4: And I've always been working. I was in postpartum on
- 15:20Speaker 4: attorney leave, but I have time, yeah, And I decided
- 15:22Speaker 4: to go all in on content creation. And I spent
- 15:25Speaker 4: like a good few months just figuring out the ins
- 15:27Speaker 4: and outs of TikTok and really forming a strategy. Well,
- 15:31Speaker 4: last year alone, I've grown to almost fifty thousand followers
- 15:33Speaker 4: on TikTok and that's hard to do now, I mean
- 15:36Speaker 4: it is, but there's definitely formulas. And that's why I
- 15:39Speaker 4: started my business socially stands because I had so many
- 15:41Speaker 4: people coming to me being like, how do you do it?
- 15:43Speaker 4: How do you do it? And I was like, I
- 15:44Speaker 4: wonder if I can apply this to everyone else, And
- 15:47Speaker 4: surely enough I can. And I have worked with so
- 15:50Speaker 4: many incredible content creators, moms, business owners, like brand owners,
- 15:55Speaker 4: and I'm like, Okay, there's a real thing here of
- 15:57Speaker 4: helping people. So yeah, yeah, I've started working with so
- 16:00Speaker 4: many beautiful creators and the demand just grew and grew.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Obviously because there's that demand, I guess for people who
- 16:09Speaker 4: want to step into that want to grow the audiences,
- 16:11Speaker 4: they can't figure it out. I started, and I really
- 16:13Speaker 4: like leant in and it just has been kind of insane,
- 16:17Speaker 4: Like I feel like even one sixty is like conservative
- 16:19Speaker 4: for this year, Like it's a big time.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I love it and I love the growth. Tell us
- 16:24Speaker 2: a little bit about what does your husband do and
- 16:26Speaker 2: how much on average is he earning to bring to
- 16:29Speaker 2: the table for this, like whole budgeting content that you
- 16:31Speaker 2: put out.
- 16:33Speaker 4: So my partner is a casual barber. He works four
- 16:36Speaker 4: days a week, so he's home with us three days
- 16:38Speaker 4: a week and he earns roughly fifty k I.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Just love watching your content. I obviously am about to
- 16:46Speaker 2: have my own baby, which is really really fun, and
- 16:49Speaker 2: watching your husband be a dad, I'm like, I hope
- 16:52Speaker 2: this is what it's like, Gwen Steve becomes a dad,
- 16:55Speaker 2: because you can just see how engaged he is in
- 16:58Speaker 2: the process and how much love there is in your family.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Like it's one of the things that I just really
- 17:03Speaker 2: love following you for because I just go, it's not
- 17:05Speaker 2: just budgeting, it's not just this, like your lifestyle is
- 17:08Speaker 2: something to be envied. I'm just like, they're always so happy.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Like the other day you posted this video of you
- 17:13Speaker 2: guys just dancing in the kitchen, and I was like,
- 17:15Speaker 2: that's what I want.
- 17:18Speaker 4: I love that. I mean, look, it's definitely not always happy.
- 17:21Speaker 4: The relationship after baby is a big shift, and it's
- 17:26Speaker 4: a beautiful shift and it's an evolution, but it's definitely
- 17:30Speaker 4: not thousand rainbows and smiles all the time. We also
- 17:34Speaker 4: don't have a heap of support. Polo's family is obviously
- 17:36Speaker 4: in Brazil, and I just don't have much family around,
- 17:39Speaker 4: so it's been a real initiation and step up in
- 17:42Speaker 4: our relationship. But I do always try to keep it
- 17:46Speaker 4: real with my community as well, because sometimes I'm just
- 17:49Speaker 4: like wow, like the mum rage early on, I was like, wow,
- 17:53Speaker 4: I've never been so angry. It's okay now, and I
- 17:56Speaker 4: don't want to freak you out, but like.
- 17:58Speaker 2: No, I can see it coming for me. I can
- 18:00Speaker 2: just see it manifesting.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah, the rage was realized, Like okay, And you
- 18:05Speaker 4: know that has well connected me with my community because
- 18:07Speaker 4: a lot of mums are just like, we don't want
- 18:09Speaker 4: to see just esthetic, gorgeous people online all the time,
- 18:13Speaker 4: like it's not realistic. Like we want to hear how
- 18:15Speaker 4: creators feel after you've had a blout with your partner.
- 18:17Speaker 4: How do you feel? What are you working through? What
- 18:18Speaker 4: are the steps we're taking? You know, Like it's a
- 18:21Speaker 4: whole beautiful mess. And although sometimes we are gorgeously happy
- 18:25Speaker 4: and I feel like we are building out a life
- 18:27Speaker 4: that we really value and really desire, sometimes it's difficult
- 18:31Speaker 4: as well and messy and ugly.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I love the transparency. I think it's really really important.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Tell me a bit more about money, though. I want
- 18:38Speaker 2: to know what are your big money goals this year?
- 18:40Speaker 2: What are you currently working towards.
- 18:43Speaker 4: So this is a tricky question for me because I'm like,
- 18:47Speaker 4: I want to set these big goals, and I have
- 18:50Speaker 4: goals that I'm working towards, but I think they're not
- 18:53Speaker 4: like tangible things necessarily. I think one of my big
- 18:56Speaker 4: goals is we want to have another baby.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Yes, more babies, more off I know.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Look, my partner's Brazilian. Big families are really common in Brazil,
- 19:06Speaker 4: and we want a big family. But if I'm going
- 19:08Speaker 4: to be in this serious role as my own business owner,
- 19:11Speaker 4: I need to have shit sorted up because I need
- 19:14Speaker 4: to be able to put myself on attorney leave. I
- 19:16Speaker 4: need to know what that looks like. This is just
- 19:18Speaker 4: all new for us, you know. So I think a
- 19:20Speaker 4: money goal this year is to have like that plan
- 19:23Speaker 4: kind of clear of if we're blessed to get pregnant again,
- 19:28Speaker 4: how that looks and what that looks like, and how
- 19:31Speaker 4: I can go on mattornity leave. And then I think
- 19:33Speaker 4: the big thing there is that my partner wouldn't actually
- 19:36Speaker 4: return to work.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that that's really beautiful, but it's
- 19:40Speaker 2: a compromise that you need to make in order to
- 19:42Speaker 2: have the life you want. Right, Like, we're in the
- 19:45Speaker 2: middle of working out what this looks like for us,
- 19:47Speaker 2: and baby's not here yet, but we'll be very very soon,
- 19:51Speaker 2: and my husband's taking the first six months off. And
- 19:54Speaker 2: it's strange watching people's responses to that as well, because
- 19:58Speaker 2: you know, you're the bread winner in you family at
- 20:00Speaker 2: the moment, and I am as well. And you know,
- 20:03Speaker 2: my husband loves his job, like as I'm sure yours does.
- 20:07Speaker 2: But you just go, well, what compromise do we need
- 20:10Speaker 2: to make to make this work to give our babies
- 20:13Speaker 2: the life that we think they deserve. Like I don't
- 20:15Speaker 2: want to have them in daycare full time. And I'm
- 20:19Speaker 2: not saying that's even a bad thing. I just don't
- 20:20Speaker 2: want that. Like I might turn around and go actually
- 20:23Speaker 2: change my mind. We're on a daycare wait list anyway,
- 20:26Speaker 2: because I'm like, well, what if I after six months my
- 20:28Speaker 2: husband doesn't like staying home, Like, I don't want him
- 20:31Speaker 2: to feel forced into, you know, a lifestyle that he,
- 20:34Speaker 2: you know, isn't in love with. So I think there's
- 20:36Speaker 2: so many moving parts of it, but even just us,
- 20:40Speaker 2: like we have been planning this baby since like twenty twenty,
- 20:43Speaker 2: and like then we decided, okay, we'll get engaged, then
- 20:46Speaker 2: we'll get married, and then once we get married, we'll
- 20:48Speaker 2: try and then you know, we obviously had a number
- 20:50Speaker 2: of complications along the way and so it didn't work
- 20:53Speaker 2: out the way we thought. But we've been budgeting since
- 20:56Speaker 2: then to go all right, well Victorian needs to take
- 20:59Speaker 2: time off. That means how are we covering all of
- 21:02Speaker 2: our expenses? How are we you know, going to deal
- 21:05Speaker 2: with this? How am I going to keep my business
- 21:08Speaker 2: up and running during a period of time where I
- 21:10Speaker 2: have to step out? I'm the face of the business.
- 21:12Speaker 2: How does that work? It is a lot to take.
- 21:15Speaker 4: On, It is and I think I want to say, like,
- 21:19Speaker 4: how just cool that is to have that conversation with
- 21:21Speaker 4: you and be here and be like, you know, just
- 21:23Speaker 4: to hear you say you know, you're the red winner
- 21:24Speaker 4: of your family and soul. Am I Like, what an
- 21:26Speaker 4: incredible time and how incredible just to be sitting here
- 21:29Speaker 4: and having that conversation as well, because this isn't something
- 21:32Speaker 4: I imagine for myself, you know, it's all happening. But
- 21:35Speaker 4: I think you're right, Like, there's not that many people
- 21:37Speaker 4: having conversations like that, and it is interesting, even with
- 21:41Speaker 4: sharing my money so transparently, people have like predetermined ideas
- 21:45Speaker 4: about me in my life. It's like, you know, people
- 21:47Speaker 4: will be like, wow, how rich are you and like
- 21:49Speaker 4: it's interesting. But I think even a few people I
- 21:51Speaker 4: have said, are now the entire world that like, you know,
- 21:54Speaker 4: oh yeah my goals like retire my husband. I mean,
- 21:57Speaker 4: like it's not like that, but it's just like, I
- 22:00Speaker 4: think our life looks so much fuller with me being
- 22:03Speaker 4: able to work with like a flexible schedule and him
- 22:05Speaker 4: being able to stay home with our babies. And he
- 22:07Speaker 4: loves the idea. Like I'm not speaking for him, but
- 22:10Speaker 4: it's a really powerful conversation and a really incredible evolution
- 22:16Speaker 4: of our family and of your family, and it's just
- 22:17Speaker 4: like it's so exciting. I'm just so here for it.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I am also so here for it. I think I
- 22:22Speaker 2: just assumed everybody would be so much more like yeah,
- 22:25Speaker 2: that just makes sense. But a lot of people like, wait,
- 22:28Speaker 2: what's your husband going to do at home? Like what's
- 22:30Speaker 2: he going to do? I'm like, why an't we asking
- 22:32Speaker 2: this if women like you guys are here saying, oh,
- 22:35Speaker 2: are you sure your husband will like that? I'm like,
- 22:37Speaker 2: just like your husband, My husband, I think wanted babies
- 22:40Speaker 2: the day that we met, Like he would have had
- 22:42Speaker 2: babies like way way, way, way, way ago. I have
- 22:44Speaker 2: been the problem, Like I am the issue. I'm the
- 22:47Speaker 2: one that's like, look, I actually do really want to
- 22:48Speaker 2: get married first. I would really like to buy our
- 22:50Speaker 2: first property first. And like every time, he'd just roll
- 22:53Speaker 2: his eyes and be like, fine, let's do this and
- 22:55Speaker 2: then can I have the baby? Like does that make sense?
- 22:58Speaker 2: And I think so many times people look it and go,
- 23:00Speaker 2: what's your husband going to do? And I'm like, my
- 23:02Speaker 2: husband is so capable and so kind. The only thing
- 23:07Speaker 2: I don't think he's going to be able to do, guys,
- 23:09Speaker 2: is breastfeed. And that's fine. Absolutely everything else is going
- 23:13Speaker 2: to be covered, Like, that's fine. I'll take the breastfeeding
- 23:16Speaker 2: journey on, no worries. I'm just taking one for the team.
- 23:19Speaker 2: But people are so confused when you flip that gender
- 23:24Speaker 2: narrative and they go, wait, what do you mean You're
- 23:26Speaker 2: not planning on spending that much time at home, don't
- 23:28Speaker 2: you have to recover, and I'm like, of course, I'll
- 23:30Speaker 2: give my body time to recover. But like I thrive
- 23:33Speaker 2: in business, I love my team, I love my work,
- 23:37Speaker 2: I love my community, and I just don't want to
- 23:40Speaker 2: spend that much time away. If that changes, though, Guys,
- 23:42Speaker 2: don't worry. I've got heaps of content banked for you,
- 23:45Speaker 2: so you're not going to miss out. Let's go to
- 23:47Speaker 2: a really quick break because on the flip side, I
- 23:49Speaker 2: have so many more questions for you, Hannah. Guys, don't
- 23:52Speaker 2: go anywhere. All right, we are back with Hannah Sans,
- 23:59Speaker 2: who is a gorgeous R and B artist and content
- 24:02Speaker 2: creator and mum and business owner and all around hustler. Hannah,
- 24:07Speaker 2: I want to know when it comes to investments, are
- 24:09Speaker 2: you investing If so in what if not? Do you
- 24:13Speaker 2: have a plan?
- 24:14Speaker 4: Oh?
- 24:14Speaker 2: Triggered, No, not meant to be triggering.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I think it's just this journey where I'm like constantly
- 24:20Speaker 4: wanting to be better, and I'm like, that is definitely
- 24:22Speaker 4: something that I do. I mean, she's on the money,
- 24:25Speaker 4: literally taught me about investing. I'd never heard about investing before,
- 24:28Speaker 4: and then just going down this like massive run of
- 24:32Speaker 4: all the things I think investing in properties is definitely
- 24:36Speaker 4: something that feels aligned for us. We own our home
- 24:38Speaker 4: that we're in now, and I think that's what happened
- 24:41Speaker 4: when we were kind of going down the road of
- 24:43Speaker 4: becoming more financially literate, deciding whether to invest in some investments,
- 24:48Speaker 4: and then we got pregnant and decided to try to
- 24:52Speaker 4: get into the property market, and that's what we did.
- 24:54Speaker 4: But definitely goals is to be investing in the near future.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I adore it, and I think we need to break
- 25:00Speaker 2: down this idea that you have to already be investing
- 25:03Speaker 2: to be good, Like you have the financial literacy to
- 25:06Speaker 2: know what you need and how that works and where
- 25:09Speaker 2: you're going. And that's what I want to afford people
- 25:12Speaker 2: with not necessarily go all right, well where's your share portfolio,
- 25:15Speaker 2: Chop chop, let's get on it. It's more you know
- 25:18Speaker 2: when that can fit into your lifestyle. You know when
- 25:21Speaker 2: that's gonna work. Because, as it turns out, Hannah, money's
- 25:25Speaker 2: not unlimited, Like you can't just do everything all at once,
- 25:28Speaker 2: and when you're creating this journey, it's kind of like
- 25:31Speaker 2: there are key milestones along the way and we can't
- 25:34Speaker 2: hit them all at one time. Like that's unreasonable and
- 25:37Speaker 2: really really unrealistic.
- 25:38Speaker 4: So true.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So tell me about debt. So have you been in debt?
- 25:43Speaker 2: You mentioned it before. Are you in debt currently? What
- 25:46Speaker 2: does that look like for you?
- 25:47Speaker 4: So? I'm currently in four hundred and fifty thousand dollars
- 25:51Speaker 4: of debt with this beautiful home. I've gotten out of
- 25:55Speaker 4: personal debt, which is just so wild because there was
- 25:58Speaker 4: definitely a time literally for you years ago, where I
- 26:00Speaker 4: just could never imagine getting out when you're so under it.
- 26:04Speaker 4: You know, you have twenty thousand dollars and you're like, yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 4: two hundred dollars, Like yeah, it's chipping away, but then
- 26:09Speaker 4: it does compound and you're like, oh my god, I'm
- 26:12Speaker 4: actually going to get out of this, and then like
- 26:13Speaker 4: closing the account. I mean, it feels like an afterthought now,
- 26:16Speaker 4: but it was a huge part of my twenties, and
- 26:18Speaker 4: that's as well with my content, Like I hope that
- 26:20Speaker 4: people who are listening and are on that journey because
- 26:23Speaker 4: I just so see you and I so resonate with
- 26:26Speaker 4: that feeling of just being like this is me, Like
- 26:28Speaker 4: this is just me forever now, you know. Yeah, being
- 26:31Speaker 4: out of that feels really good.
- 26:33Speaker 2: I adore that so much. What do you think your
- 26:36Speaker 2: best money habits are. I feel like you've got a
- 26:38Speaker 2: few nowadays, and I think you should share.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Best money habits now would be since starting this budgeting series,
- 26:45Speaker 4: it's like the Chicken and the Egg right, Like the
- 26:47Speaker 4: content actually came first. I was like, I want to
- 26:49Speaker 4: do this, like content, what does that actually look like?
- 26:51Speaker 4: And I realized I had to go through my expenses
- 26:53Speaker 4: and track my expenses. So it's like that has been
- 26:57Speaker 4: kind of revolutionary for our family, like actually looking where
- 27:00Speaker 4: our money goes. There's a piece of content that went
- 27:02Speaker 4: like semi viral in the first week when I was
- 27:05Speaker 4: beginning to track our expenses and I realized we were
- 27:08Speaker 4: spending seventy dollars a week on eggs.
- 27:11Speaker 2: We eating all these eggs or were throwing them at
- 27:13Speaker 2: our arch nemesis, Like how many eggs is that?
- 27:18Speaker 4: Literally, I don't even want to talk about it. Look
- 27:21Speaker 4: as I share my content our values, like we really
- 27:23Speaker 4: like organic and local food, so we get our food
- 27:25Speaker 4: from the local farmer's market. It's organic, it comes with
- 27:28Speaker 4: the price increase. That's just the way it is. We
- 27:30Speaker 4: don't really like to eat meat and any animal prodiduce
- 27:33Speaker 4: from the supermarket, so it comes with the price increase,
- 27:35Speaker 4: and where Fin'm with that, we're adapting our lifestyle to
- 27:37Speaker 4: suit that because it's a value of our So eggs
- 27:40Speaker 4: ain't cheap, baby, they're like twelve dollars a corton.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, But what are you doing with all
- 27:46Speaker 2: these eggs? Genuinely, I need to know, like are we
- 27:49Speaker 2: just eating eggs every day for breakfast? Like you didn't
- 27:52Speaker 2: address the fact that I asked you if we're throwing
- 27:54Speaker 2: them at our arch nemesis? Like what are we doing
- 27:56Speaker 2: with so many eggs? Like take us through the egg
- 27:59Speaker 2: consumption in a week?
- 28:00Speaker 4: No arch Nemesis, eggs have been thrown. We do eat
- 28:05Speaker 4: a lot of eggs. We have like three eggs each
- 28:08Speaker 4: for breakfast. My son has two eggs for breakfast. My
- 28:10Speaker 4: son's one and he's Brazilian. Heats a lot.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, you know that's.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Eight eggs in the morning. Darn't in one day.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I can't deal with that. That's so many eggs.
- 28:20Speaker 4: My partner bakes, so like you know, he'll bake, He'll
- 28:23Speaker 4: cook like a key shore of for Tata that's got
- 28:25Speaker 4: a lot of eggs. And then he'll make like a
- 28:27Speaker 4: custard that's got ten egg eggs in it.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, so you're just eating really well and
- 28:31Speaker 2: I'm actually quite envious of it. But I have in
- 28:33Speaker 2: my head, like my sister and I talk about this
- 28:36Speaker 2: all the time, and this is really rogue and totally
- 28:39Speaker 2: not meant to go on the show. But like in
- 28:41Speaker 2: my head, I have an egg rule, like I can
- 28:43Speaker 2: only consume three eggs a day. So like if I
- 28:46Speaker 2: had like two eggs for breakfast on toast, like I
- 28:49Speaker 2: have one egg to spend later on a snack. If
- 28:52Speaker 2: you said to me, oh, you had scrambled eggs, well sorry,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I know there's probably three eggs in that can't consume
- 28:57Speaker 2: eggs for the rest of the day. I don't know
- 28:59Speaker 2: where this rule comes from. It can't even be that healthy,
- 29:02Speaker 2: because eggs are great for you. But in my head,
- 29:05Speaker 2: three eggs, we're done. Like it's just an egg rule.
- 29:08Speaker 2: And my sister brought it up.
- 29:09Speaker 4: There's a cap three and you're out.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, like three and done. And my sister
- 29:13Speaker 2: ages ago brought it up, and I was like, why
- 29:15Speaker 2: we like this, Where did this come from? What is
- 29:18Speaker 2: this about? Why have we got an egg rule. Maybe
- 29:21Speaker 2: it's because they're so expensive. We do not share that rule,
- 29:25Speaker 2: We absolutely don't. So what other good money habits do
- 29:28Speaker 2: you have now that you didn't have previously?
- 29:30Speaker 4: Circling back like to the tracking expenses, that's just a
- 29:32Speaker 4: massive one. It's time consuming, like going back, I mean
- 29:35Speaker 4: this and like subtle plug but like I've switched to
- 29:37Speaker 4: upbank and like being able to see the breakdown has
- 29:41Speaker 4: been so helpful because before I was literally going manually
- 29:43Speaker 4: every single week, but we got rid of so many subscriptions,
- 29:46Speaker 4: We got rid of so many spendings that just weren't
- 29:48Speaker 4: serving us. I think this is a good habit that
- 29:50Speaker 4: I can touch on, which is just like before when
- 29:53Speaker 4: I started, there was so much miscellaneous spending, like of
- 29:57Speaker 4: stuff that I just couldn't even tell you why we
- 29:59Speaker 4: were spending on those. So I think that's a really
- 30:01Speaker 4: good money habit. Yeah, I think that's pretty much my
- 30:04Speaker 4: good money habits at the moment.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I love it all right, Surely there are some left over,
- 30:07Speaker 2: little naughty money habits. What do you think are your
- 30:10Speaker 2: worst money habits at this point in time? Is it eggs?
- 30:14Speaker 4: It's not eggs. I'm going to classify that as a
- 30:15Speaker 4: good money habit because my gut lady loves me for it.
- 30:18Speaker 4: I am gonna say, I think that the way that
- 30:23Speaker 4: we grow up around money is so deeply rooted in us,
- 30:25Speaker 4: and I still have to kind of catch myself with
- 30:29Speaker 4: spending large amounts. I think it's a fine line of like,
- 30:33Speaker 4: I've never earned this much money in my life, so
- 30:35Speaker 4: it's a fine line between when I'm going to spend
- 30:37Speaker 4: something and I'm stopping myself. Is that because I'm scared
- 30:40Speaker 4: that it's a bad money habit because I'm like unconsciously
- 30:44Speaker 4: spending thinking it's going to come back to me or
- 30:46Speaker 4: can I afford this thing? I don't have that self
- 30:49Speaker 4: trust yet. I'm trying to figure that out. So it's
- 30:50Speaker 4: like that in itself is a bad money habit.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Yeah, are you budgeting for like discretionary things or like
- 30:57Speaker 2: fun money or things to spend on yourself. I feel
- 30:59Speaker 2: like as women, especially as we step into this you know,
- 31:04Speaker 2: different era of being a parent and a wife, we
- 31:07Speaker 2: kind of step back and go, oh, there's not much
- 31:09Speaker 2: room for me. Like you'll happily spend it on your
- 31:11Speaker 2: husband or you're a child, but you'll never spend it
- 31:14Speaker 2: on yourself. Like, is that something you're allocating or trying
- 31:17Speaker 2: to find a little bit more wiggle room for, or
- 31:20Speaker 2: is this something that you're like, no, V, I haven't
- 31:22Speaker 2: really thought about it. This is probably the problem.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Okay. So I love that you touched on this because
- 31:26Speaker 4: I don't know what it is about my husband. I'm
- 31:29Speaker 4: just obsessed with him and I love spoiling him. He's
- 31:31Speaker 4: such a humble beginnings guy, Like he comes from a
- 31:34Speaker 4: really small town in Brazil. The first flight he ever
- 31:36Speaker 4: got on was to Australia when he was like in
- 31:38Speaker 4: his late twenties.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Can we decide, no, how did you meet? Because I
- 31:42Speaker 2: love love?
- 31:43Speaker 4: Okay, we love love. I used to manage a hospitality
- 31:46Speaker 4: and events business in Brisbane and a short walk was
- 31:48Speaker 4: a barber shop where there was a coffee shop at
- 31:50Speaker 4: the window that where everyone would go and get their coffee.
- 31:52Speaker 4: So I'd go there, like multiple times a day and
- 31:54Speaker 4: get a coffee and I'd see him cutting hair.
- 31:56Speaker 2: They're sure it was for the coffee.
- 31:58Speaker 4: Well it was in the beginning. And I remember saying
- 32:01Speaker 4: to my friend who managed the barber shop, like, what's
- 32:04Speaker 4: that guy's deal?
- 32:04Speaker 1: You know?
- 32:05Speaker 4: She was like, no, now he has a girlfriend. You know,
- 32:07Speaker 4: and I would kind of give him the eye and
- 32:08Speaker 4: he would just like completely shut it down, which now
- 32:10Speaker 4: upon reflection, I'm like, green flag, yeah.
- 32:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent green flag, go off king yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 2: like you protect your space. I like that.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Literally, he fully called Shotter. And this was years and
- 32:20Speaker 4: there was always a little bit of like I'd always
- 32:22Speaker 4: see him around like whatever. And then years later covid
- 32:26Speaker 4: Era and he popped up on my Tinder.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Oh hello, obviously that girlfriend thinks not a.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Thing literally, and I was like, okay, you're single, fabulous
- 32:35Speaker 4: messaged his colleagues at the barber shop, being like hook
- 32:37Speaker 4: it up. No you didn't.
- 32:39Speaker 2: You didn't just message him on Tinder. You were like,
- 32:40Speaker 2: I'm going deeper, like this has to happen.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Always the side road. So I was like message his
- 32:45Speaker 4: colleagues and I was like, hook it up. I think
- 32:47Speaker 4: he thought I was joking, so he never did anything
- 32:49Speaker 4: about it.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Why are they so silly? Sometimes I just wonder.
- 32:53Speaker 4: He was literally like ha ha ha ha, I'm like cool.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I'm wait literally waiting.
- 32:57Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no, like this was serious boy,
- 33:00Speaker 2: this is love.
- 33:01Speaker 4: And it kind of was just like that, and then
- 33:03Speaker 4: we started messaging on Instagram. But because English isn't his
- 33:06Speaker 4: first language, I rely heavily on my banter to woo people. Yeah, okay,
- 33:11Speaker 4: and he just wasn't picking.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Up what I was putting down. He would have been like,
- 33:15Speaker 2: that is so strange. Why did she say that? What
- 33:18Speaker 2: a strange lady?
- 33:20Speaker 4: Pardon Like I'd say things that he'd be like, why
- 33:22Speaker 4: you say that, And you'd be like, because it's funny,
- 33:25Speaker 4: But it's not funny.
- 33:26Speaker 2: When you make me tell you that it was funny.
- 33:29Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm wooing you, sir. Can you not tell
- 33:31Speaker 4: I'm wooing you?
- 33:32Speaker 1: Like?
- 33:32Speaker 4: He just didn't get it at all. So then, anyway,
- 33:34Speaker 4: months past, my friend was like, you have to just
- 33:36Speaker 4: invite him to your house for dinner, like we have
- 33:38Speaker 4: to go old school here, like just to see there's
- 33:40Speaker 4: a connection. Yeah, great, invited in for dinner. He came
- 33:43Speaker 4: for dinner. The rest is history.
- 33:45Speaker 2: I love this so much. I love love. I love
- 33:48Speaker 2: that you saw him on Tinder and then you were like,
- 33:50Speaker 2: I'm not going down this Tinder route, Like absolutely not.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna make other people do my work. Yeah, I'm
- 33:55Speaker 2: gonna make them involved in my love story. And I
- 33:58Speaker 2: mean it worked out for you. So I love this
- 34:00Speaker 2: Tinder brings all the good people together.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Oh we're pro Tinder.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I just love spoiling him. So that's definitely something that
- 34:06Speaker 4: you're so spot on there, like I do. Like his
- 34:08Speaker 4: birthday was in January and I had my biggest cash
- 34:10Speaker 4: month of my business in December, so I was like,
- 34:12Speaker 4: what do you need baby, Like, let's go. And yeah,
- 34:17Speaker 4: but I think that I'm okay with spending on myself
- 34:20Speaker 4: and actually with my budgeting series. Something I haven't really
- 34:22Speaker 4: shared is that that doesn't include money that I put
- 34:25Speaker 4: aside for my business expenses. And I'm like, you, like,
- 34:28Speaker 4: I'm a business girl. When I spoil myself, it's on
- 34:31Speaker 4: my business. It's like I'm purchasing new stuff for my business.
- 34:33Speaker 4: I'm investing in another mental of my business. I'm doing
- 34:36Speaker 4: another course of my business, like that's my fun splash,
- 34:38Speaker 4: but I'm doing so that's very me coded.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I feel like whenever people are like, what do you
- 34:43Speaker 2: treat yourself with, I'm like, please, don't get me wrong,
- 34:46Speaker 2: I really love a pedicure. At this point in my life,
- 34:48Speaker 2: I actually can't reach my toes. So I've been treating
- 34:50Speaker 2: myself to those more regularly. But I'm so like, oh,
- 34:54Speaker 2: I'll do my own nails at home, like you know,
- 34:56Speaker 2: if I want to get ten or do that at home. Like,
- 34:59Speaker 2: but but you want to talk to me about new
- 35:02Speaker 2: microphones headphones. Yeah, you want to talk to me about
- 35:04Speaker 2: anything that I can spend in my business. I'm like, oh,
- 35:07Speaker 2: have you seen those new mics that came out like
- 35:10Speaker 2: recently I purchased And you will understand this because you're
- 35:13Speaker 2: an audio girly as well. The Dji Lapel mics. They're
- 35:17Speaker 2: in the little magnetic box and they charge and I
- 35:19Speaker 2: was just like, this is so perfect for content, very
- 35:22Speaker 2: hot talk dirty to me, and then everyone else is like, yeah, cool.
- 35:26Speaker 2: So I'm gonna take my friends out for breakfast and
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'll be like, you have fun. I've got a microphone
- 35:30Speaker 2: to play with at home. You can come eat twelve
- 35:32Speaker 2: eggs with me for breakfast. That's fine, Yeah, exactly, I'll
- 35:35Speaker 2: bring my mics. It can be an ASMR very exciting
- 35:38Speaker 2: piece of content, very very exciting. All right, Hannah. Unfortunately
- 35:42Speaker 2: we are running to the end of this episode, but
- 35:45Speaker 2: I want to know at the very start you said, look,
- 35:47Speaker 2: I'm a B minus and I feel like you put
- 35:49Speaker 2: a lot of time and energy and effort into coming
- 35:51Speaker 2: up with that B minus. But what would it take
- 35:54Speaker 2: to get you from that B minus to you saying V,
- 35:57Speaker 2: I think I'm an A plus.
- 35:58Speaker 4: It's a sticky thing, right, It shouldn't be with like
- 36:01Speaker 4: the more money that we're bringing in has anything to
- 36:04Speaker 4: do with our money habit or our grade that we
- 36:06Speaker 4: give ourselves. But for where I'm at with my business,
- 36:09Speaker 4: I've invested a lot into my business and I've got
- 36:11Speaker 4: some really big goals, and I think the next step
- 36:13Speaker 4: for me to get to that A plus is show
- 36:15Speaker 4: that I can uphold my good money habits with more money,
- 36:19Speaker 4: So like, yeah, welcoming in the bigger money months and
- 36:22Speaker 4: then actually sticking to my guns and doing what I
- 36:24Speaker 4: know to be the good decisions I feel with my money.
- 36:26Speaker 4: And I think a big thing I want to touch
- 36:28Speaker 4: on was a big money goal as well for me
- 36:30Speaker 4: is to be neutral, like neutrality with money, because that's
- 36:32Speaker 4: something I've never been. It's always been like ups and downs,
- 36:35Speaker 4: like super just energetically as well, just like oh my god, money,
- 36:38Speaker 4: Oh my god, money. You know. I just want to
- 36:40Speaker 4: be like, yeah, of course, money, money, whatever, you know.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I love that I feel like neutrality is something that
- 36:47Speaker 2: we don't talk about very often, but we should talk
- 36:51Speaker 2: about more. Maybe I'm going to steal that and make
- 36:53Speaker 2: a whole episode out of it and call it.
- 36:55Speaker 4: I love it.
- 36:55Speaker 2: I'll credit you, don't worry. I'll be like neutrality inspired
- 36:58Speaker 2: by Anna San's. But I think that that's a topic
- 37:01Speaker 2: that we don't talk about enough because money is so
- 37:03Speaker 2: inherently emotional, and it's so tied to our self worth,
- 37:07Speaker 2: and it's so tied to how we think and feel
- 37:10Speaker 2: about how our life is going, when in reality, like
- 37:13Speaker 2: people aren't defined by money, So why do we do this?
- 37:16Speaker 5: No?
- 37:17Speaker 4: I totally agree, and I think a plus for me
- 37:19Speaker 4: would be like and I'm getting there. Like I even
- 37:21Speaker 4: shared on my TikTok the other day, like something small,
- 37:24Speaker 4: but I went and bought my partner a Weber. He's
- 37:25Speaker 4: like a barbecue guy.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I saw that and I was like, oh, slay queen.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Yeah, he loves to barbecue. We've been morning a web
- 37:33Speaker 4: for ages, but it's been one of those things, you know,
- 37:34Speaker 4: it's like we wanted a baby web. So it's like
- 37:36Speaker 4: six hundred and seven hundred dollars. I'm like, you know,
- 37:38Speaker 4: we can afford this, this is fine, and I spent
- 37:41Speaker 4: it and I like remember tapping my card and just
- 37:43Speaker 4: feeling nothing and remember being like, oh, I need to
- 37:46Speaker 4: celebrate this, like I'm not clenching, I'm not tense, like
- 37:48Speaker 4: I feel free about this.
- 37:50Speaker 2: No, but that's good.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Yes, I was like, this is where I want to
- 37:53Speaker 4: be going. So when I'm there more often, I think
- 37:56Speaker 4: that's the A plus for me. A door.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, what a perfect place slive it, Hannah.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I have adored this chat. I am so looking forward
- 38:04Speaker 2: to continuing to follow your journey, but also having shared
- 38:07Speaker 2: you with our community. Hopefully they'll go, oh my gosh,
- 38:10Speaker 2: can't wait to tee into what Hannah's up to. But
- 38:13Speaker 2: also I'm so excited for the journey that you're on
- 38:15Speaker 2: and also bringing some more public money stories to I
- 38:20Speaker 2: guess like to be able to share more publicly because obviously,
- 38:23Speaker 2: you guys know I adore our money stories, and I
- 38:26Speaker 2: think that they need to stay anonymous because they are relatable,
- 38:30Speaker 2: they are you, they are celebrating our community. But I
- 38:33Speaker 2: also want people who are in the public eye to
- 38:36Speaker 2: be stepping up and going, no, this is my money story,
- 38:38Speaker 2: this is what's going on, because so many times we
- 38:41Speaker 2: put people who are in the public eye on pedestals
- 38:43Speaker 2: and gooble. They must have grown up rich like Hannah,
- 38:46Speaker 2: could not have been in this position to earn one
- 38:49Speaker 2: sixty and like be about us mum without having some
- 38:52Speaker 2: level of privilege and just getting to know people just
- 38:55Speaker 2: it helps so much when it comes to understanding money.
- 38:58Speaker 2: So thank you for being the first I adore.
- 39:00Speaker 4: It's truly an honor.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Thank you so much, Hannah. It has been an absolute
- 39:04Speaker 2: pleasure as expected.
- 39:06Speaker 4: I loved it. Thank you so much for having me.
