- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi. It's Adam here, and in today's
- 0:42episode of The Hypnotist, you're going to be listening to a
- 0:45hypnosis session designed to help you release any historical
- 0:50trauma or feelings of anger. And I was working with a client
- 0:56that would quite often get angry and fly off the handle or speak
- 1:03their mind. And it seemed to me that a lot
- 1:08of the reason for. This.
- 1:09Is that they had suppressed anger from historical events
- 1:15that were quite frankly wrong. They were completely
- 1:19unjustified. And some people can get angry
- 1:22about little things and you can almost wonder like, why are they
- 1:26so angry about it? But in this case, we're talking
- 1:29about sexual assault, abuse, you know, physical violence, things
- 1:37that, again, happening to a child or a teenager that just
- 1:40absolutely abhorrent. And at that time, they couldn't
- 1:47express their rage, their anger. So going through their life,
- 1:52they either felt that they weren't allowed to have a voice.
- 1:56They weren't meant to be in certain places that they were.
- 2:00Less valuable or less? Worthy than other people.
- 2:03And because of that, every now and then they would blow a bit
- 2:05of a gasket and that pressure cooker would explode and they
- 2:08would suddenly release all of these emotions that were inside.
- 2:13So this is about releasing some of these historical moments of
- 2:17trauma and justified anger. Not all anger is irrational, and
- 2:23it's very easy for people to paint other people that get
- 2:27aggressive or angry is somehow unreasonable.
- 2:30But some anger is completely justified.
- 2:33And if you think of some of the humanitarians and some of the
- 2:36people that have had the biggest impact in the world, you know,
- 2:40their anger was completely justified.
- 2:43If you look at as well, like Nelson Mandela, for example,
- 2:48went through horrible injustice. And many people have also
- 2:52experienced horrible injustice, but they try and harness it in a
- 2:55positive way. And that element of being angry
- 2:59that something isn't right can lead to very empowering change.
- 3:03This particular client could think of moments from their
- 3:07childhood and their teenage years and even early adult
- 3:10years. That was just.
- 3:12Completely wrong. So there's an element here of
- 3:15going back to those moments to make it the way they would want
- 3:18it to be, to make it feel liberating and freeing for them.
- 3:24So if you feel like you get easily triggered into anger, you
- 3:28might benefit from this session. And what I would encourage you
- 3:30to do is to think of an early memory that made you feel angry
- 3:37or upset, or maybe you on the receiving end of something
- 3:40unjustified, unfair, just something that is unacceptable.
- 3:45And maybe you can release some of the trauma and anger
- 3:47connected to that. Some of the references though
- 3:51will be very specific to the client I was working with.
- 3:54And therefore just. Ignore anything irrelevant and
- 3:57if you do like the idea of a bespoke session created for you
- 4:01if you click more details or more information next to this.
- 4:06Podcast. You'll see the show notes and in
- 4:09the show notes there will be a link to the ability to book a
- 4:13free consultation call to explore working with me.
- 4:16If that appeals, do that, and if it doesn't, don't and just
- 4:18listen to the session now. And to get the most out of this
- 4:22session, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:24won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:57Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, just allow your
- 5:04eyelids to close. That's it.
- 5:08Position your body in a way where you can feel comfortable,
- 5:13feel relaxed, and just notice that when you breathe in, you
- 5:22can allow yourself to breathe in slightly deeper than you
- 5:27normally would. And as you exhale, allow that
- 5:34outward breath to go on a little bit longer, emptying your lungs
- 5:42so that the next breath in is slightly deeper than the last.
- 5:52And just imagine that you're breathing in a feeling of
- 5:55relaxation on the inward breath. And imagine that you're
- 6:01breathing out tension or stress in the outward breath, breathing
- 6:10in what you need, and exhaling what you don't.
- 6:17And as you breathe in and breathe out, do a mental scan of
- 6:21your body to look for any clues of tension or stress.
- 6:31And sometimes you can find that tension in the tiny muscles of
- 6:35the forehead, around the jaw, sometimes in the neck or the
- 6:42shoulders. So as you breathe in that
- 6:46feeling of resourceful relaxation, imagine it melting
- 6:51away that tension. And then imagine the tension
- 6:56that has melted away is leaving your body in that outward
- 7:02breath. Maybe you see it as a grey or
- 7:05dark colour leaving your body as you breathe out.
- 7:13And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 7:18And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 7:25As your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 7:29And I wonder if you could imagine walking through the
- 7:33woods. I want you to imagine the sounds
- 7:40you would hear walking through the woods.
- 7:45Maybe you would hear leaves gently rustling in a breeze,
- 7:53maybe the sound of twigs breaking under your feet.
- 8:01Maybe other sounds. Maybe there's a smell connected
- 8:06to those woods. The smell of nature, the
- 8:14coolness of a breeze. I want you to get a sense that
- 8:18with each step you take through these woods enables you to feel
- 8:24more and more relaxed. I don't want you to set yourself
- 8:30an intention. You're making your way to a
- 8:35squirrel hide there in the woods.
- 8:42You know the location of it and maybe there's a well worn path
- 8:48that leads to that hide. And normally the hide would be a
- 8:54great place to see the animals of the woods.
- 9:01But the hide in your imagination now will be a portal and we can
- 9:09say it's a portal to a deeper part of your subconscious mind.
- 9:15I'm going to count down from 12:50 and when I arrive at one I
- 9:24want you to imagine that you have arrived in the hide.
- 9:29With each descending number, just imagine your body getting
- 9:33deeper and deeper, relaxed. 10, just releasing any tension in
- 9:41your face. 9, Feeling that any tightness in the jaw, it's just
- 9:51melting away. 8 breathing and relaxation, exhaling tension.
- 10:01And then seven, Just focus now on your neck and your shoulders.
- 10:06Some people think of the neck and the shoulders as the bank
- 10:09account of stress. Imagine stress just like
- 10:14crystals of ice fused in your muscle tissue.
- 10:17And as you breathe in that relaxation, imagine it melting
- 10:20away. Seven becomes 6, and just feel
- 10:24that relaxation spreading down into your arms as you imagine
- 10:30how it would feel for your arms to feel limp, loose and heavy,
- 10:35just like the limbs of a puppet with no strings.
- 10:40That's it. And then six becomes 5.
- 10:44And now focus on your internal organs, your lungs, stomach,
- 10:50they all relax at exactly the same time.
- 10:55Your heart relaxes and then feel that five becomes four and your
- 11:00gut relaxes. I want you to get a sense that
- 11:05when people feel angry alone, there's more cortisol in their
- 11:08blood. There's more cortisol in the
- 11:11blood that can feel tightness there in the gut.
- 11:16So as you breathe in this relaxation, just allow that
- 11:19tightness to be released as you feel like you're now relaxing
- 11:25from within. And then three down into your
- 11:29legs. Your legs now feel limp, loose,
- 11:32relaxed, and then two. And then just maybe by now
- 11:37you're already approaching the hide.
- 11:41But I want you to imagine there is something in the hide, the
- 11:45most comfortable chair that you've ever experienced inside
- 11:50the hide. Even if it defies the laws of
- 11:53physics, that's fine. This is just your imagination. 2
- 11:58becomes one. Feel that ripple of relaxation
- 12:01from your toes up to the top of your head, down to the tips of
- 12:05your fingers as you're now in the hide with a strange
- 12:10addition, a very comfortable chair.
- 12:16And imagine placing yourself on that chair, feeling so relaxed.
- 12:24No need to look at the nature beyond.
- 12:28Just imagine how good it would feel to go back and not change
- 12:35the past. Give a different meaning to the
- 12:39past. You are wiser now than you've
- 12:45ever been, but you didn't have that wisdom when you were a
- 12:49child. So as you imagine relaxing on
- 12:54that chair, in that hide in those woods, I want you to
- 12:58imagine going back. Back in time at your current age
- 13:07to some old stables, and I want you to imagine seeing 2 ponies.
- 13:18Maybe you can remember the names of those ponies.
- 13:23I want you to get a sense then you're seeing them as they were
- 13:29seeing them. And remember how you felt
- 13:33spending all of that time with these ponies.
- 13:38Fearless sense of safety. Here.
- 13:45The ponies don't judge, don't punish, don't criticize, don't
- 13:50yell. It's no surprise that you felt
- 13:55so good here in these stables. You were accepted exactly as you
- 14:03were, as you feel relaxed in these stables.
- 14:10I want you to imagine seeing a childlike version of you
- 14:17entering the stables, maybe 12 or 13 years old.
- 14:24See yourself as you were back then, and maybe they're
- 14:32surprised to see you there in the Staples.
- 14:37But I want you to tell this child that you are them from the
- 14:42future and see that confused, disbelieving expression on their
- 14:50face. They don't buy this for a
- 14:54moment, which is why you're going to convince them by
- 14:57telling them something only they would know.
- 15:03Maybe it's a secret they had when they were a few years
- 15:09younger, maybe 11 or 12. Maybe it's a memory that only
- 15:15they know they're experienced. But this is how you'll convince
- 15:20them that you are them from the future, by telling them
- 15:26something only they would know. And when you've done that and
- 15:32they believe that you are them from the future, let me know by
- 15:38nodding your head. That's it.
- 15:44And to begin with, I just want you to listen.
- 15:51No judgement, no criticism, no suggestions.
- 15:57Ask them what life is like for them, what's good, what's bad,
- 16:04and just listen. No judgement, just acceptance.
- 16:13And maybe there's certain things that they say that just make it
- 16:17natural for you to want to hug them, to let them know that you
- 16:23understand, which of course you do, because you are them.
- 16:33I want you to tell them all the things that you wished someone
- 16:38told you. Tell this little girl that she
- 16:43is worthy, she is kind, she's smart, capable, and maybe these
- 16:57are things she hasn't heard. So it would be like a wilted
- 17:03flower getting sunshine and rainwater when they haven't had
- 17:08it for so long. Tell them that you believe in
- 17:14them. I want you to get a sense then.
- 17:25They are already shifting their facial expressions, their body
- 17:29language. And then I want you to give,
- 17:37give this child something that you wish you had back then, a
- 17:43particular resource. And maybe this is a resource of
- 17:51assertiveness, confidence, worthiness.
- 18:00I want you to imagine that you're giving this young girl a
- 18:06glowing ball of energy that represents the resource that you
- 18:11needed most back then. See the colour of that glowing
- 18:18ball of energy and see that she accepts it, places it to her
- 18:27chest and absorbs that quality. So now you know she had that
- 18:33quality back then when she needed it.
- 18:41But I want you to get a sense that this is a reciprocal
- 18:45exchange. I want you to think of the
- 18:51quality that you had back then that would be most useful for
- 18:56you now. Maybe back then there was more
- 19:05creativity, more understanding, or something else.
- 19:16Remember back then of 1 positive quality that you had in
- 19:20abundance and you don't have to know exactly what it is, just
- 19:27feel that there was something you had back then that would be
- 19:31useful for you now. And see that girl provide you
- 19:38with that glowing ball of energy, a different color to the
- 19:41one you gave her. But just know that this is going
- 19:46to help you for this time in your life.
- 19:59As she hands it to you, feel that you're placing it to your
- 20:04chest and absorbing that quality, and notice that when
- 20:10you absorb that quality, a lot of historical anger and baggage
- 20:17feels like it's melting away. The past is the past.
- 20:25You can't change it, but you can learn from it.
- 20:28Become wiser for it. I want you to get a sense that
- 20:33some of the beliefs that you had back then as a child came from
- 20:38unique experiences that weren't fair, weren't right, but just
- 20:42were. And an emotion that was
- 20:48justified back then may not be useful for you now.
- 20:55Those you feel that you have this new resource, feel that you
- 21:01can leave something behind in these stables that isn't serving
- 21:05you. Now.
- 21:06I want you to get a sense that you're about to leave these
- 21:14stables, but tell this younger version of you that she is
- 21:19loved, she is worthy, that she does belong, that the right
- 21:28people will welcome her with open arms.
- 21:34She just needs to find her people.
- 21:39You give her a hug and say goodbye.
- 21:44And then imagine travelling through time to a moment when
- 21:48you were 19 years old, but to a time before something unpleasant
- 21:55happened. I want you to meet that 19 year
- 22:04old version of you an hour a day before that unpleasant thing
- 22:11happened. She remembers you from the
- 22:15stables. I want you to ask how she is.
- 22:23Just listen again without judgement.
- 22:28Give her a hug, tell her what is about to happen in the near
- 22:34future, and I want you to tell her she has the ability to set
- 22:49and enforce a boundary. It is her, right?
- 22:57I want you to tell her exactly what happens if she doesn't have
- 23:00that boundary, and how empowered she would feel the moment she
- 23:06does. She might feel confused,
- 23:15daunted, but I want you to get a sense that you may not be able
- 23:23to change the past, but you can give it a different meaning.
- 23:30And hindsight is just what you would do differently in the past
- 23:36with what you now know in the present.
- 23:41So we're going to change a memory to introduce hindsight.
- 23:47You at your most confident, assertive, clear in what is OK
- 23:54and not OK. But instead of her experiencing
- 24:00that you're going to do this as a team.
- 24:05Step into her body, her youth and energy, your wisdom and
- 24:11experience. The two of you find yourself in
- 24:16a particular place, but before this unpleasant thing happens,
- 24:22you realize that you can set boundaries, clearly communicate
- 24:31what is OK and not OK. No need for anger, no need for
- 24:39aggression. Clear, confident communication.
- 24:46And I want you to relive this moment the way you want it to
- 24:50be, not just for then, but to ripple through time all the way
- 24:56up to the present. That you are worthy.
- 25:02You're worthy of respect. Your boundaries need to be
- 25:07respected. And I want you to play around
- 25:12with maybe 2-3, four different scenarios, But in every
- 25:16scenario, you feel confident. You are clear in your boundaries
- 25:23and you avoid the unpleasant thing that happened and in doing
- 25:28so communicate a line in the sand that shall not be crossed.
- 25:36And when you found the one that feels like it is the most
- 25:43empowering, let me know by nodding your head.
- 25:58I want you to get a sense then this is now creating a ripple
- 26:04through space and time from that moment all the way to your
- 26:09present. When people feel worthy in
- 26:15expressing their desires, opinions, boundaries and
- 26:21standards in a calm, reasonable way, a lot of anger just isn't
- 26:31necessary. Anger is the ejector seat
- 26:39boundaries is avoiding the very cause of the thing that would
- 26:44mean that you need to use the ejector seat.
- 26:49So now that you have these empowered feelings, don't be
- 26:55surprised if anger goes down and calm, clear, reasonable
- 27:01communication feels easier in some way.
- 27:07You are not your past. It does not define you, but it
- 27:14does shape you. It could shape you to become
- 27:18angry and feel unworthy, or it could shape you to feel
- 27:23confident, empowered, calm and reasonable.
- 27:29And you get to decide what meaning you give to your past
- 27:36and your present. It's time to leave that memory,
- 27:44but leave the memory at a time where it's just you and that 19
- 27:48year old version of you, and tell her she is loved, she is
- 27:54capable, she is worthy, that she also belongs, she is welcome.
- 28:04See her updating certain thoughts, beliefs and ideas and
- 28:09feel that those two are rippling through time.
- 28:14Give her a hug and say goodbye, telling her that you are now a
- 28:22guardian Angel to your past, that you can visit any moment in
- 28:27the past and help shift it to an empowering meaning for you.
- 28:36You leave that past moment and find yourself back there in a
- 28:40comfortable chair in a squirrel hide in the woods.
- 28:45But somehow you feel lighter, freer, more empowered, worthy.
- 28:54So leave that squirrel hide and find yourself walking back
- 28:57through the woods, back to your present body in the present
- 29:02moment, feeling that this is a journey in your imagination that
- 29:08can lead to complete transformation or subtle changes
- 29:14that take your life in a positive direction.
- 29:18It's time to leave this thought. So take a deep breath in through
- 29:22your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:26Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 29:28Connect fully into the here and the now as I now count from 1:00
- 29:35to 10:00 to awaken you. Starting to count on 2/3 waking
- 29:40up 456 more alert 7-8 open your eyes.
- 29:45Open your eyes. 910 wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
