In this lesson from 1 Samuel 8, we explore a pivotal moment in Israel’s history—their request for a king. While it may seem like a reasonable solution to corrupt leadership, God reveals something deeper: the people weren’t just rejecting Samuel… they were rejecting Him.

We also examine the contrast between Eli’s sons and Samuel’s sons, uncovering important lessons about leadership, accountability, and the consequences of sin. Ultimately, this study challenges us to consider whether we trust God’s leadership—or if we’re still trying to be “like everyone else.”
