SPEAKER_01: Listen to the there's no delay.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_01: We can just really feed off of each other.
• 3:22
  SPEAKER_02: Horrific.
• 3:23
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_01: Usually it's like Caroline says something, and then 10 seconds later, I'm like, what?
• 3:29
  SPEAKER_01: What'd you say?
• 3:31
SPEAKER_01: Or I'll say something I think is funny, and then 10 seconds later, Caroline's like, Does that mean we're doing this weekly?
• 3:37
SPEAKER_02: Making your journey down to the room.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_03: 24 hours on the road.
• 3:40
  SPEAKER_01: Um no comment.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_03: Anyways, Parker, what was this momentous occasion that you just had to see our faces for?
• 3:47
SPEAKER_01: Well, it's not even life-changing for just me, just you, or just you.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: It is life-changing for the listener.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: It is life-changing for the country and the world.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_01: It is life-changing for culture, culture, cinema, culture, um, podcasts.
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_01: Podcasts.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_01: What else is out there?
• 4:07
SPEAKER_01: Scary movies, uh, technology, Apple, Apple, Amazon, consumerism, developers, developers, developers.
• 4:16
  SPEAKER_01: Greed.
• 4:16
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_01: So now that we push on every industry.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_01: Now that we have sacrificed or given tribute to the um the commerce, the commerce gods of America, we can reveal that today, right now, in your ears, whenever you're listening, it is the one hundredth episode of what's your favorite scary movie.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_02: It feels like just yesterday, and in the words of Parker's father, this wasn't even a thought in the ball sack.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_01: I didn't know where that was gonna go.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_02: And here we are, a hundred episodes deep.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, I would like for everyone to raise a glass, including you, listener.
• 5:03
SPEAKER_02: For the record, um, Caroline is raising an off-deep woods mosquito spray.
• 5:08
  SPEAKER_01: Bug spray.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_01: And I would like for us to all cheers right now.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_01: What's your favorite scary movie?
• 5:16
  SPEAKER_02: Cheers.
• 5:17
  SPEAKER_01: Hundred episodes.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_02: Man, in real life, our listeners are gonna love this.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_01: The sweet scent of bug spray.
• 5:29
  SPEAKER_01: Can you taste it?
• 5:30
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's all in your drinks now.
• 5:33
  SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_01: We're also recording this live outside on a porch, so if you hear a little nature.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_03: We did had a little ambiance for this episode.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we actually have a live DJ in the background playing nature sounds just for the occasion.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_03: I hired a hundred band of crickets.
• 5:51
SPEAKER_02: That's where all our Patreon money is gone.
• 5:54
  SPEAKER_03: 100 piece bands.
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_01: Alright, alright, alright.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_01: So for our hundredth episode, I thought, what better way to celebrate than with a movie?
• 6:05
SPEAKER_01: I've let me tell you, I've actually been saving this movie.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_01: People have been riding in.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_01: The fans have been clamoring for the Cabin in the Woods, and I thought, I refuse.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_01: I refuse to watch this until I can sit in a room, stare at Caroline and Ian as they watch the movie.
• 6:26
SPEAKER_02: And we had a lot of time to stare.
• 6:28
  SPEAKER_01: Dreams come true.
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_01: It's true.
• 6:29
  SPEAKER_01: Caroline and Ian's Wi-Fi sucks.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_01: And so we took mini charade break to uh, you know, just pass the time and bond a little bit.
• 6:38
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 6:40
SPEAKER_02: It's uh pretty terrible up here.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_03: The start of a scary movie.
• 6:43
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, a little truth or charade.
• 6:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_02: And should we get into it?
• 6:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 6:52
SPEAKER_01: We have wasted enough of time.
• 6:54
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 6:56
SPEAKER_01: The cabin in the woods.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_01: We're in a cabin in the woods.
• 7:01
SPEAKER_01: And you know what the true cabin in the woods is?
• 7:04
  SPEAKER_01: What?
• 7:04
SPEAKER_01: My heart in my chest.
• 7:06
SPEAKER_01: And we're all just in there.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_01: That's not my best uh imagery I've found with here.
• 7:12
SPEAKER_01: So the Cabin in the Woods, Cabin in the Woods.
• 7:13
  SPEAKER_01: That was rough.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_01: You may know, or you may not, if you're sitting at a table with me, that this movie came out in the year 2012, but it did not come out in the year 2012.
• 7:25
  SPEAKER_01: It did.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_01: But it was supposed to come out in February of 2010 from MGM, but was delayed by MGM because they wanted to rework it to be in 3D.
• 7:38
SPEAKER_01: But I hated that phase.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_01: It was not in 3D because then MGM went under financially and delayed it indefinitely as it transitioned to new leadership.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_01: Then MGM's new executives wanted to get rid of all of the projects that were made under the old leadership.
• 7:54
  SPEAKER_02: I could see this being a 3D movie.
• 7:56
  SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, maybe.
• 7:58
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't want it.
• 7:59
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to see where they meant to do 3D, is what I meant.
• 8:03
SPEAKER_01: Well, anyway, they sold it to the to Lionsgate and then it was released in April of 2012.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: So it was quite the journey here.
• 8:09
SPEAKER_01: As I've mentioned on the podcast before, Scream 4 came out in 2011.
• 8:15
SPEAKER_01: This came out in 2012.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_01: Year next came out in 2013.
• 8:20
SPEAKER_01: So The Cabin in the Woods, directed and co-written by Drew Goddard.
• 8:24
SPEAKER_01: This was his directorial debut.
• 8:26
  SPEAKER_01: Can you believe that?
• 8:27
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_02: Let's all give him a round of applause.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_01: He went on to write and direct Bad Times at the El Royale in 2018.
• 8:37
  SPEAKER_01: That makes sense.
• 8:39
  SPEAKER_01: Does it?
• 8:39
  SPEAKER_01: It does.
• 8:40
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_03: It doesn't make sense, but again, congrats to him.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we all saw that.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_01: He also wrote Cloverfield in 2008, World War Z in 2013.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_01: He created the Netflix Daredevil series and wrote episodes of Lost, Alias, Angel, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_01: This was also co-written and produced by Joss Whedon, who is best known as the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and the director of some Avenger shit.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_01: And recently, the infamously reviled theatrical cut of Justice League.
• 9:19
SPEAKER_01: It's been known for a while that Joss Whedon sucks.
• 9:22
SPEAKER_01: And uh it really blew up last year when Ray Fisher from Justice League accused Whedon of severe mistreatment and cruelty on the set of Justice League, which many co-stars corroborated, and then Buffy stars, particularly Charisma Carpenter, started sharing their horrible experiences with him on set as well.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_01: So you know what I don't love?
• 9:43
  SPEAKER_01: Bugs.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_01: People who are mean for no reason.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_01: So Joss Whedon, get out of town.
• 9:47
SPEAKER_01: We do not support that behavior in this podcast.
• 9:51
  SPEAKER_01: Get out of here.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_03: Um, for reference, while the movie was loading last night to watch, um, the little screenshot that shows up under the title, Ian looked at it and was like, I feel like this is gonna be like Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
• 10:08
SPEAKER_03: And what do you know just out of nowhere he called that from the beginning.
• 10:14
  SPEAKER_02: Oh okay, are you?
• 10:15
SPEAKER_02: I I think I'm pretty good at like For reference.
• 10:17
SPEAKER_03: It was a man in a Letterman jacket.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_02: So you had to You guys need to give me a compliment at some point.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_02: I'm good at being like, oh, this has that vibe.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_03: Sometimes you say things that are just like way off, though.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was actually crazy because there's no we reason for you to reference that.
• 10:35
SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, well, right on the money this time.
• 10:39
  SPEAKER_01: Hoit.
• 10:40
  SPEAKER_02: I'm uh I'm a vibe sniper.
• 10:43
SPEAKER_03: We have Kristen Connolly as Dana.
• 10:47
SPEAKER_03: She was in The Bay in 2012 and House of Cards.
• 10:52
  SPEAKER_01: I've not seen, I've not partaken.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_03: Me, well, I watched the first season.
• 10:55
  SPEAKER_01: I thought y'all loved it.
• 10:56
  SPEAKER_01: That's why I put it in.
• 10:57
SPEAKER_03: Uh we also have Fran Cranz as Marty.
• 11:03
  SPEAKER_03: Um character.
• 11:05
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_03: Liked him.
• 11:07
SPEAKER_03: Uh he was in The Village in 2004 and You Might Be the Killer in 2018.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_03: Also Jesse Williams as Holden.
• 11:15
SPEAKER_03: He was in the remake of Jacob's Ladder in 2019 and Grey's Anatomy.
• 11:23
  SPEAKER_03: Those eyes.
• 11:24
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't even know that.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_01: And then I saw on his list that he was in a lot of Grey's Anatomy.
• 11:30
SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's like one of the stars.
• 11:32
  SPEAKER_02: He's a pretty prominent character.
• 11:34
SPEAKER_03: And I just like looking at him.
• 11:36
  SPEAKER_01: He's beautiful.
• 11:37
SPEAKER_01: Quite the stomach on that guy.
• 11:39
  SPEAKER_01: But in your pants.
• 11:40
  SPEAKER_03: I'm those eyes.
• 11:43
  SPEAKER_03: I feel uncomfortable.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_03: I can talk about those eyes all day.
• 11:47
  SPEAKER_03: Um keep going.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_03: This movie also stars Chris Hemsworth as Kurt, Anna Hutchinson as Hutchison as Jules.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_03: Sigourney Weaver was the director.
• 12:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 12:03
  SPEAKER_01: That is her character.
• 12:04
  SPEAKER_01: She's the director.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, oh, that's right.
• 12:07
  SPEAKER_03: That's right.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_01: Also directed by Sigourney Weaver.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_03: And I literally giggled when she popped up at the end.
• 12:15
SPEAKER_01: She walked well, I was you hear her voice on the elevators, and I thought that maybe you'd connect that to finding Dory.
• 12:21
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_01: But you didn't, because I was like looking at you, waiting for you to come back.
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_03: Well, she has that.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_03: I mean, a lot of people have that like voice, you know.
• 12:29
SPEAKER_01: Well, then her head bobs up at the end, and you just go.
• 12:36
SPEAKER_03: Uh so that was fun.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_03: And uh Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, two big stars, they were the guys behind the whore.
• 12:46
  SPEAKER_03: Horror.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_01: The guys behind the whore, if you know what I mean.
• 12:51
SPEAKER_03: Um Bradley Whitford had a big old crush on him from the West Wing.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_03: If anyone watching, sausage vest for you.
• 13:00
  SPEAKER_03: He really was.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_03: He uh aged, but like them do, you know, not them do.
• 13:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 13:10
  SPEAKER_03: Uh but Jesse Williams.
• 13:15
SPEAKER_03: Let's bring the combo back there.
• 13:18
SPEAKER_03: Now Blunk and Ada Raider is gonna be like, wow, Caroline really is interesting.
• 13:25
SPEAKER_02: And summary of this movie goes a little like this.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_02: A group of your average college kids are headed out for a little lake vacay as they're being observed by some sort of suit and tie corporate guys.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_02: Slowly, the college students start slipping into archetypal characteristics and behaving as one might expect the dumb teens in a horror movie, too, including reading Latin from a book that awakens a family in hillbilly zombies.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_02: They're picked off one by one until only two remain, sneak into a secret elevator, and discover an underground facility full of scary movie monsters.
• 14:14
  SPEAKER_02: Massacre.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_02: The director of the organization explains that ancient gods live beneath the earth and must receive the sacrifice of five teens, virgin optional, to keep them at bay.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_02: The two survive, and the old gods awaken at the end.
• 14:37
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 14:38
  SPEAKER_02: First aid.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_02: The Rotten Tomatoes critic score is a ninety-two percent.
• 14:45
SPEAKER_02: And the audience score is seventy-four percent.
• 14:49
SPEAKER_02: Critic's consensus is quote The cabin in the woods is an astonishing meta feat capable of being funny, strange, and scary, frequently and all at the same time.
• 15:02
  SPEAKER_02: What's your consensus, Parker?
• 15:04
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, that off.
• 15:06
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, this movie is one of my absolute favorites.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_01: Which is why I scheduled it for our hundredth episode.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_01: I saw this movie in 2012 in the movie theater and was obsessed with it and watched it a lot of times in high school.
• 15:25
SPEAKER_01: And uh I think it's an absolute delight through and through.
• 15:28
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's funny.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_01: Y'all know that I like to laugh in my horror movies.
• 15:32
  SPEAKER_01: I think uh it's a little scary.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_01: I jump here and there.
• 15:37
SPEAKER_01: It's gory, which is always what you need when you have a horror comedy.
• 15:42
SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah, that's kind of my my base, my overall.
• 15:46
  SPEAKER_01: What about you?
• 15:48
SPEAKER_03: I didn't know anything about this movie, and it threw me for a loop in a very delightful way.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_03: One of the first things I said when I was like starting to catch on to the plot was Is this like Hunger Games?
• 16:05
SPEAKER_03: Not too far off, but I loved the layers that it threw in there.
• 16:12
SPEAKER_03: Wow, you guys are really making me feel good.
• 16:15
  SPEAKER_01: Oh anything else?
• 16:22
SPEAKER_02: Um, no, we'll get into it, but you know, when I was going into this movie, the cabin in the woods, you just assume you're gonna get a cabin-y movie.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_02: But I don't think like I don't I wouldn't put this in the genre of backwoods cabin movies.
• 16:45
  SPEAKER_02: I know that might be a a shock.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_02: But I don't think this genre maps to cabin movies as much as it maps to what would it map to?
• 16:56
SPEAKER_03: Well, originally I was thinking like, oh, this is literally what Tucker and Dale is making fun of.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_03: Like that category of movies that they were playing off there.
• 17:06
SPEAKER_03: Especially like stopping at the gas station, like the creepy guy, the uh the RV and like all that stuff.
• 17:14
SPEAKER_01: What year was Tucker and Dale?
• 17:16
SPEAKER_01: I think it was around 2009, maybe.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 17:18
SPEAKER_03: But they had plenty of stuff to play off of then before this movie.
• 17:24
SPEAKER_03: But then, as soon as we get that little glimpse where the eagle is flying over the mountain and that little glitch in the system pops up, I was like, oh shit, this is taking a turn.
• 17:38
  SPEAKER_03: I did gasp.
• 17:39
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 17:39
SPEAKER_02: When that happened, I was like, Alright, here I am.
• 17:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, Ian, you're right that it's not like a backwoods horror movie because it's making fun of those backwoods horror movies just like Tucker and Dale.
• 17:52
SPEAKER_01: And um, even though maybe more like slasher movies, because I think what the whole point of the movie is, obviously it has the little cutscene with the Japanese uh horror movie going on at the same time where they're running that similar trial in Japan.
• 18:09
SPEAKER_01: And so this movie is supposed to be a parody of all American horror movies.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_01: So it's taking a note from, you know, like the guy at the gas station and Friday the 13th.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, the cabin has some big time Evil Dead vibes, some hillbilly uh people maybe reminiscent of like a combo of like Texas Chainsaw and the Hills Have Eyes, and um who else could those people be?
• 18:40
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, wrong turn.
• 18:42
SPEAKER_03: It had the RV in there, yeah.
• 18:45
SPEAKER_01: And uh and then of course the teens, which are um why they use the RV, I'm not quite sure.
• 18:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 18:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah to go to a cabin.
• 18:53
SPEAKER_01: You know, where else would they be rolling their joints?
• 18:56
SPEAKER_01: The five teens, I think, is uh the the focus of the movie, and that's the format of the slasher movie.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_01: And so, of course, we find out at the end that they're supposed to fit the archetypes of the whore, the athlete, the scholar, the fool, and the virgin.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_01: And also, you know, like the fool's name is um Marty, which is like Randy from Scream.
• 19:22
SPEAKER_01: So I think this movie is really pulling a lot of references even before you get to like the the labyrinth of horror movie monsters that are down there.
• 19:33
SPEAKER_01: Do I see a hand on the room?
• 19:34
SPEAKER_02: Did any of you think that they didn't really do a good job like developing the characters?
• 19:39
SPEAKER_02: Like, I feel like I didn't get to know.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_03: I feel like part of that was purposeful, because the whole point of having those different characters is that they fit those archetypes.
• 19:50
SPEAKER_01: And that's the point, also, is that we don't know the characters.
• 19:52
SPEAKER_01: Like they say, like Jules dyes her hair blonde right before the start of the movie, and she's a pre-med student, but we get to know her as she's being stupid and silly and ditzy and sexy.
• 20:04
SPEAKER_01: And same thing with uh Chris Hemworth's Hemsworth's character.
• 20:09
SPEAKER_01: He's a sociologist, he's really smart, and in fact, the guy who's the scholar, uh Dana's sexy boy, well, Caroline's sexy boy toy, he's the one that in the um in the like trial in the cabin is being all sensitive and smart, but he's actually the athlete of the group.
• 20:28
SPEAKER_01: So it's like we're not supposed to know who they are because we're we're supposed to see them as like the sloppy stereotypical characters in a horror movie.
• 20:38
  SPEAKER_01: So I think that's that's the point.
• 20:42
  SPEAKER_02: So another point.
• 20:45
SPEAKER_02: So this is actually supposed to be a parody.
• 20:48
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 20:50
  SPEAKER_01: It's well that in not a parody, it's like a deconstruction.
• 20:53
SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like when you watch any cooking show and they're like, This is a deconstructed PB and J.
• 20:59
SPEAKER_01: This is a deconstructed horror.
• 21:01
SPEAKER_02: I think that's like a little bit of where it may have fallen flat is like I felt like at some points they felt like or I felt like they were trying so hard to make it funny.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_02: Like that moment where the guy calls them on the phone the gas station guy.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and there's like a speaker phone gang.
• 21:24
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like that was a lot of fun.
• 21:28
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, there's some cringy humor.
• 21:30
SPEAKER_01: I think some of that might just be that this was made in 2009 and then was supposed to come out in 2010 and then came out in 2012.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_01: I think there's some late odds of humor in there that isn't as subtle as we might expect humor to be now.
• 21:43
SPEAKER_03: It was like Jurassic Park humor.
• 21:48
  SPEAKER_01: Well, that's the nineties.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_03: I know, but that's what it made me think about.
• 21:52
  SPEAKER_01: Jurassic Park humor.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, on the first Jurassic Park, like the nerdy programmer guy, like He's great.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_03: That's the kind of humor it was.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_03: I would have not saying that it was bad.
• 22:03
  SPEAKER_01: I d no, I don't agree with this reference.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_01: Get that out of my house.
• 22:09
  SPEAKER_01: Your house.
• 22:10
SPEAKER_01: I think that some of the humor is really good.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_01: Like when she makes out with the moose.
• 22:15
SPEAKER_01: That is so funny to me.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_01: And she walks by and she goes, Me?
• 22:23
  SPEAKER_03: That was weird.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_03: At the end she said thank you.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_01: I love that, but I see Ian's coming straight in being critical.
• 22:35
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:36
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_02: I mean, just because I'm critical of it doesn't mean that it wasn't a romp of a time.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_01: Oh, because we were together.
• 22:46
  SPEAKER_01: Hold, hold, hold.
• 22:47
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 22:48
SPEAKER_03: I'm just now coming up with this question.
• 22:52
SPEAKER_03: So this house was planted there by this company that does the sacrifice.
• 22:59
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 23:00
SPEAKER_03: What's up with the two-way mirror then?
• 23:04
  SPEAKER_02: Who doesn't?
• 23:05
SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, just spooky.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_01: Maybe it has to do with one of the one of the monsters.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's like a maybe, you know, there was kind of like the Pinhead-esque monster that was torturing people.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't think Pinhead would do this.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_01: There were other ones who were like doctors or something torturing, so maybe one of their traps is like they would have to watch the other one being like ripped up.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
• 23:27
  SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_03: Second question that I performed.
• 23:30
  SPEAKER_01: Live on air.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_03: Um did one of the Bradley Whitford said when the couple was having sex in the woods and he was like, We need a shot of the boobs.
• 23:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_03: That really confused me because I was like, okay, is this actually like a Hunger Games thing where they're like broadcasting it for people?
• 23:54
SPEAKER_03: Or like he said something of like the people upstairs like to see it.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, he had a couple of interesting comments like that because uh he was like, it's for the client or whatever.
• 24:06
SPEAKER_01: And of course they're being a little vague because they don't want to give away the surprise at the end.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_01: But I think he says, I wrote down a few more quotes.
• 24:13
SPEAKER_01: Um uh there's one where he says the virgin's death is optional as long as it's last.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_01: The main thing is that she suffers.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_01: And so I think that for the actual plot of the movie, it's that they are putting on a show, like they have to appease these old gods by like giving them a show.
• 24:34
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, of course, we are then stepping in almost as those characters because we are the we're watching the same thing that the old gods are watching.
• 24:43
SPEAKER_01: You know, we're being the same voyeurs.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_01: And so then on another meta level, it's like, you know, every horror movie we watch could be another ritual to appease these gods of whichever country uh, you know, that movie comes from.
• 24:59
SPEAKER_01: We've watched Japanese horror movies on here, we've watched Spanish ones, you know.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_01: Uh, you could think of it that way as well.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_01: And this movie is then framing that, which I love this, that, you know, we watch Friday the 13th and we're like, oh, that's so shitty.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_01: The writing is so ridiculous and the acting's so bad.
• 25:17
SPEAKER_01: But could we be watching people orchestrate all of that happening for us?
• 25:23
  SPEAKER_01: You know?
• 25:25
  SPEAKER_02: I had a thought and I forgot.
• 25:26
SPEAKER_03: Do you think our world will ever get to a reality TV show where people actually die?
• 25:32
  SPEAKER_01: Would you watch it?
• 25:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying the Coliseum existed at one point in time.
• 25:37
SPEAKER_01: It's well, what's that show where they release people into the wilderness and they just have to Naked and Afraid?
• 25:44
SPEAKER_01: That's not the one I'm thinking of, but is that one where they just have to live in the wilderness for as long as they're gonna do it?
• 25:51
SPEAKER_01: There's one that I'm thinking of that's maybe more of like I'd have to ask my sister.
• 25:55
SPEAKER_01: I thought it was more of like a Discovery Channel type thing.
• 25:59
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 25:59
SPEAKER_01: But I mean it's kind I mean we watch people go through hard stuff, we don't watch them die, but I think I would that would be sad.
• 26:06
SPEAKER_01: I like watching fake death.
• 26:08
SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying this theme has been brought up so many I mean, like, yes, you have like the Coliseum, but then like Hunger Games, not too far off from that concept.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_03: This is not too far off.
• 26:21
  SPEAKER_01: You know, Caroline.
• 26:22
SPEAKER_01: That's an interesting thought, but I'm seeing an I'm seeing a hand in the classroom.
• 26:25
SPEAKER_01: Oh um not uh No Mutual Ian, yeah.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_02: Either of you agree with this thought.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna have to hear it first.
• 26:38
SPEAKER_02: I would have loved if I could have changed the movie, and I know Parker, you love when we speculate about stuff like this, but I don't think I would have gone with the whole gods thing.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_02: I would have gone with like actual like paying customers, paying customers that like they choose their Westworld climate.
• 27:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Westworld.
• 27:03
  SPEAKER_01: I do think that's interesting.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_01: I think that's been done in one of the um purge movies, which obviously came after this.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_01: But I think what's hard about that is that the whole premise of this movie is that the world, the fate of the world, rests on this happening.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_01: I like the idea of it being not just a corporate thing, but it's a like ancient ritual.
• 27:24
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's nice.
• 27:25
SPEAKER_01: Again, yeah, I don't know how you feel about the old gods.
• 27:28
SPEAKER_03: That's I think I think it kind of added this whimsy of like keeping the monsters or like the antagonists kept like you get into that supernatural world, like why not take it to like gods?
• 27:47
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's it's supposed to be ridiculous, like as ridiculous as possible.
• 27:51
SPEAKER_03: But I loved like the cataloging of all of the demons and even if they're taking bets on who they're gonna pick.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_01: I think I thought like the office stuff was really funny, and like when they're all celebrating, and you can see Dana being tortured in the background, and there's like the guy that's like, so I know that you really love the ballet, and she just walks away.
• 28:13
SPEAKER_01: Like, I thought that was really fun.
• 28:14
  SPEAKER_03: He's like, I'm an intern.
• 28:16
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_03: But that the the scene where they go down the elevator and they're in the boxes and they're seeing all of these like demons and whatnot.
• 28:29
SPEAKER_03: I just kept thinking of Monsters Inc.
• 28:34
  SPEAKER_03: with the doors.
• 28:36
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 28:36
SPEAKER_01: Well, I I love that um, you know, the creators of this movie are big horror fans, and I think that that's obviously very apparent that there's a lot of horror uh references and love in this movie.
• 28:48
SPEAKER_01: And what I love, there's a line that I love where the woman who's supposed to be kind of like the square who keeps bothering the two uh like head guys at the whatever that laboratory is, she says she says, No, the the guy says this is like something from nightmares, and then she says where nightmares are yeah.
• 29:11
SPEAKER_01: And I love that because it's like it's not just that horror movies, you know, are taking what we're afraid of and making them into monsters, which it does, but it's also then how much horror movies are like feeding, yeah, feeding like the fear of America in this case.
• 29:29
SPEAKER_03: I do think they really got to flex their creativity with those monsters.
• 29:35
SPEAKER_03: There were just like so many of them.
• 29:37
SPEAKER_03: I was saying they're thinking like all of these different ideas could have been like 20 movies.
• 29:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_02: Um I have so many questions around like who pays the payroll for that team.
• 29:48
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
• 29:49
SPEAKER_02: Where where are they located?
• 29:52
SPEAKER_01: Well, maybe it's like the government knows that we have to do this, and so it's like the government paying off aliens from invading.
• 29:59
  SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
• 30:00
  SPEAKER_02: Relevant.
• 30:01
SPEAKER_01: Something else that I think is interesting is that um I saw somewhere a quote from Joss Whedon, who again needs to get his act together because we don't like shitheads.
• 30:12
SPEAKER_01: But and we don't like mistreatment in the workplace.
• 30:15
SPEAKER_01: That's running rampant in America.
• 30:18
SPEAKER_01: So, Joss Sweeton, get the fuck out of here.
• 30:21
SPEAKER_01: But I did see a quote from him where he was also saying this movie was a response to the torture porn craze of the um uh mid-thousands, you know, saw 2004 on to, I don't know, probably 2010 is when that was wrapping up.
• 30:38
SPEAKER_01: And so I do think that the idea of us being voyeurs and watch like this movie's pointing out that not only are these people suffering, but we're watching them suffer and we're enjoying them suffer is part of the movie.
• 30:51
SPEAKER_01: And I think that is really fun to have to turn the old eye around on ourselves.
• 30:56
SPEAKER_02: Speaking of voyeur, would you or would you not have covered that mirror?
• 31:05
SPEAKER_01: With well, who's on the other side?
• 31:07
  SPEAKER_03: If I were watching.
• 31:10
SPEAKER_01: If I were watching that guy, Gray's Anatomy Man, I would not have covered it.
• 31:16
SPEAKER_01: Um, I would have watched.
• 31:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, me too.
• 31:19
SPEAKER_01: Ian, if that sexy young Dana was on the other side, would you have covered it?
• 31:26
  SPEAKER_01: Unbuttoning that blouse?
• 31:28
  SPEAKER_01: Maybe not.
• 31:29
  SPEAKER_03: Choose carefully.
• 31:30
  SPEAKER_03: Oh.
• 31:31
  SPEAKER_01: That's such a double standard Jesus.
• 31:34
SPEAKER_03: You can do whatever you want.
• 31:36
SPEAKER_03: We're all about to die, anyways, in this cabin.
• 31:39
SPEAKER_01: Alright, so there are quite a few monsters in this movie.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_01: I wrote down the ones that I noticed uh that were heavily featured.
• 31:46
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, there were a ton.
• 31:47
SPEAKER_01: I saw werewolf, like a misty spirit, pinhead, ballerina, giant snake, zombies, merman, strangers, little girl, clown, unicorn, merman, tentacle monster, zombies.
• 31:59
  SPEAKER_01: I already said zombies.
• 32:00
  SPEAKER_02: Ballerina.
• 32:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_01: Who would you pick if you had to be horror-movied by one of these?
• 32:07
  SPEAKER_02: Whatever that.
• 32:09
SPEAKER_02: What did that guy do that was like had like the saws in his hands?
• 32:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was like see that.
• 32:16
  SPEAKER_01: We did.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_01: It was like the pinhead guy.
• 32:18
SPEAKER_01: We saw in one of the um security cameras, he was holding his little uh supposed to be like the limit configuration, which if you want to hear our Hellraiser episode, you can head back in time.
• 32:30
SPEAKER_01: That must have been like season one or something.
• 32:32
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_01: Um and he's standing in, there's another one of him, and they have someone tied up hanging upside down.
• 32:39
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 32:40
SPEAKER_01: And if you think back to that movie, that movie's all about torture and um pain and pleasure.
• 32:47
SPEAKER_03: He was an interesting dude.
• 32:48
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_02: Maybe not him, but he looked like he was gonna be kind.
• 32:55
  SPEAKER_01: Uh he wasn't.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_01: Hate to break it to you.
• 32:58
  SPEAKER_01: Who would you pick?
• 32:59
SPEAKER_01: You gotta pick a way to go.
• 33:01
SPEAKER_03: What do you think that ballerina with the multiple mouths does?
• 33:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_01: I wonder if she like latches onto your face, or maybe she does a nice dance with you.
• 33:12
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 33:13
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 33:15
  SPEAKER_03: I would choose that.
• 33:16
  SPEAKER_03: That sounds nice.
• 33:17
SPEAKER_01: I think I would pick, okay, I'm about to say something that might blow your mind, because if you listen, you know one of my biggest fears is snakes.
• 33:26
SPEAKER_01: But that giant snake looked like a quick death.
• 33:29
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, one I thought about that too, but I also hate snakes.
• 33:32
  SPEAKER_01: I hate snakes.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_03: I saw that and I was like, is that Jafar?
• 33:37
SPEAKER_01: Well, like the clown stabs people a bunch of times.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_01: Uh so did the unicorn, which honestly, unicorn death might be worth it.
• 33:45
SPEAKER_01: I think I would be the unicorn death.
• 33:47
  SPEAKER_01: That's pretty cool.
• 33:48
  SPEAKER_01: That's pretty cool.
• 33:49
  SPEAKER_01: Alright.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_01: Well, any last thoughts before we wrap up?
• 33:54
SPEAKER_01: I have a note that says Sigorny Weaver, baby.
• 33:59
SPEAKER_02: I think this movie had a lot that you're gonna be terrified, Parker.
• 34:07
  SPEAKER_02: A lot of potential.
• 34:10
SPEAKER_02: Like, I love the intersection, and now that it's like supposed to be a parody, I didn't I didn't really think it was like supposed to be a parody.
• 34:20
SPEAKER_02: So I now that I know that it's supposed to be a parody, because I didn't really pick that up, I thought it was just trying to be kind of funny, but also uh a movie.
• 34:29
  SPEAKER_02: Um it makes sense.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_02: With that being said, I would love to watch a movie with similar thematic elements of bringing like the horror movie, but then like the the like basically the second dimension, third dimensionality of it together.
• 34:54
SPEAKER_02: Because I would be there for it.
• 34:57
  SPEAKER_01: But I would agree.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_01: I don't think it gets better than this.
• 35:00
  SPEAKER_01: I think that was I think it's good.
• 35:02
SPEAKER_01: I think it's just like they did it and they did it well.
• 35:06
SPEAKER_03: I think like a hardcore serious version of like scary movies being facilitated.
• 35:13
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I think I would love a sequel where they just do exactly this again with just other people.
• 35:19
  SPEAKER_01: I would love that.
• 35:20
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I could have done without some of the jokes.
• 35:22
SPEAKER_03: I think they could take it to a next level.
• 35:24
SPEAKER_03: Like, I know they had to kind of establish like the tropes of all of these different archetypes and like have that cabin in the woods.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 35:33
SPEAKER_03: But I think this movie with a different horror staple concept could be really cool.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, and since it's I mean, they could go to other countries, like they do like they could do a ring type thing in Japan.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_01: They could do they could stay in America and do like a conjuring haunted house parody.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_03: They could do a um a midsummer cult facilitated.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_02: Oh, they could do it.
• 35:59
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they could do like a retreat.
• 36:01
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 36:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_01: I think there's a lot of fun things, and unfortunately unfortunately, it seems like this movie was kind of hard to get released, so I doubt we would ever get another one.
• 36:11
  SPEAKER_01: But I would love.
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_01: I would love to.
• 36:13
  SPEAKER_01: Would you?
• 36:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:16
SPEAKER_01: So alright, let's see, hundredth episode.
• 36:22
SPEAKER_01: So think carefully about this.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_01: What would you say from the cabin in the woods is your most memorable murder?
• 36:37
SPEAKER_02: I had one, and then I'm changing it right now to intelligent guy driving, and the thing just goes right through his face.
• 36:47
  SPEAKER_01: Mmm.
• 36:48
SPEAKER_02: And the RV and the succinct and just knife.
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_01: Well, and shocking.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_01: I think that's like the scariest jump of the movie.
• 36:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_02: The second one was the merman.
• 36:57
  SPEAKER_01: Uh, merman's what I'm doing.
• 36:58
  SPEAKER_01: That was so good.
• 36:59
SPEAKER_01: I love how cheesy it is.
• 37:00
SPEAKER_01: I love like the dramatic music.
• 37:02
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, come on.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and the spraying out its little blowhole.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_01: And just the merman.
• 37:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 37:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 37:09
  SPEAKER_01: Let's get a merman movie.
• 37:10
SPEAKER_01: Let's get Cabin of the Woods to Merman.
• 37:12
SPEAKER_02: Like Piranha 3D meets Cabin in the Woods.
• 37:16
  SPEAKER_02: Merman 3D.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_03: One thing that I didn't mention before, I kind of loved that the first half of this movie, you're on edge of like, oh, like before the zombies come out, of like, oh, what's it gonna be?
• 37:30
SPEAKER_03: Because you know that something's coming, and like they jump in the lake, and you're like, this is definitely something's gonna happen in the lake, and you're just kind of always on edge.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_01: And I've said before that I love humor and horror movies, but it has to be really like in, it has to be really like tied into the horror.
• 37:47
SPEAKER_01: And so when Chris Himsworth makes a joke and he's like, What's that?
• 37:50
  SPEAKER_01: What's in the water?
• 37:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like that's a stupid joke.
• 37:54
SPEAKER_01: Which I love the commitment.
• 37:56
SPEAKER_01: He pushes her in full belly flop.
• 37:58
  SPEAKER_01: Love that.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_01: But I love that that's funny, and it's exactly the same thing where like you think for a second, you're like, Oh my god, what's in there?
• 38:06
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 38:07
SPEAKER_01: So they really play, they play us.
• 38:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_03: Um You got me so good.
• 38:13
  SPEAKER_03: Most memorable murder.
• 38:17
SPEAKER_03: I think I have to go with Chris Hemsworth.
• 38:19
SPEAKER_03: That I I was not expecting after that motorcycle jump for that to happen.
• 38:26
  SPEAKER_01: See, that's another thing.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_01: They make you for that's like the bird at the beginning standout moment.
• 38:31
SPEAKER_01: They make you forget, and then it's a surprise again.
• 38:33
SPEAKER_03: Well, I didn't think that it would be right there, and they're such a build-up, and they're trying to escape, and you're like on this emotional journey, and then it's like kind of funny.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know what you guys are criticizing.
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_01: Masterworks.
• 38:48
SPEAKER_01: Okay, on a scary scale, one to five, where you rank in the cabin in the woods.
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_02: Hard one.
• 38:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, scariness.
• 39:00
  SPEAKER_03: It's not like scary.
• 39:05
SPEAKER_02: What would you translate that to?
• 39:07
  SPEAKER_02: Numbers.
• 39:08
SPEAKER_03: Well, he's like in shock that you gave it a low number.
• 39:12
  SPEAKER_03: I'm just explaining.
• 39:14
  SPEAKER_03: It's not scary.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_01: I'm going to Well, there are a couple of good jumps, but it's gory too.
• 39:19
SPEAKER_01: I think you couldn't, I don't think gore does not translate to scare.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_01: Gore translates to scare in some situations.
• 39:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 39:26
SPEAKER_01: There are people who cannot handle the gore.
• 39:28
SPEAKER_01: I think that one, because of the references, two, because it's scary enough, you can't.
• 39:34
SPEAKER_01: I don't think this is the entry horror movie for someone.
• 39:38
SPEAKER_01: Like, this is a movie you gotta build up to for multiple reasons.
• 39:40
  SPEAKER_01: I disagree.
• 39:41
SPEAKER_01: I would give it a two and a half, like in the middle.
• 39:45
  SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna give it a two.
• 39:46
SPEAKER_03: And but I agree if I'm introducing someone to horror, I can't show them this because then everything will be backwards once they actually watch the movies that this is referencing.
• 39:56
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe that'd be really fun.
• 39:57
  SPEAKER_01: Maybe that'd be a good experiment.
• 39:59
SPEAKER_02: I just don't know, I I want to debate that point real quick because I perceive scary much differently than gore.
• 40:07
SPEAKER_02: Scariness is like, will I be affected at night?
• 40:11
  SPEAKER_02: Agreed.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_02: Will I think about it?
• 40:12
SPEAKER_02: Gore, I can see the goriest movie ever, like a zon like a zombie movie, right?
• 40:18
SPEAKER_02: And they just eat the crap out of and I'm not gonna give a crap about that at night.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_01: Well, I would like to say that fear is subjective, and I think about gore a lot.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_01: I watched a movie recently where somebody's fingers got pulled off of their body, and I thought about it a lot.
• 40:36
  SPEAKER_03: That's a lot.
• 40:37
SPEAKER_03: That kind of gore versus like humor gore is different.
• 40:42
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 40:44
  SPEAKER_01: Well, let's move on.
• 40:47
SPEAKER_01: Just know that there's tension at the table.
• 40:51
SPEAKER_01: At the cabin in the woods?
• 40:53
  SPEAKER_01: At the recording cabin.
• 40:55
SPEAKER_01: Would you give the cabin in the woods a smash or slash?
• 41:00
  SPEAKER_01: I'd give it a smash.
• 41:02
  SPEAKER_02: I I would it's it's close to me, but I would also give it a smash.
• 41:06
SPEAKER_01: There's no way to please him.
• 41:08
  SPEAKER_01: It's a smash.
• 41:09
  SPEAKER_01: It's uh it's I said smash.
• 41:11
  SPEAKER_01: Such a smash.
• 41:11
SPEAKER_01: I know it's a I know you did, but you said it was close.
• 41:15
  SPEAKER_02: Parker.
• 41:17
  SPEAKER_03: He can't be pleased.
• 41:19
  SPEAKER_02: Parker is unpleasant.
• 41:20
  SPEAKER_02: Parker cannot be pleased.
• 41:21
SPEAKER_02: If you're not with him, you're against him.
• 41:23
  SPEAKER_01: It's true.
• 41:24
  SPEAKER_01: It's true.
• 41:26
SPEAKER_01: On that note, what's your favorite scary movie?
• 41:32
  SPEAKER_02: I can't believe it's still Black Swan.
• 41:35
SPEAKER_01: I am that movie rules.
• 41:36
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's good.
• 41:39
  SPEAKER_03: It's good.
• 41:40
  SPEAKER_03: Carol?
• 41:40
SPEAKER_03: Uh mine is still wrong turn 2021.
• 41:43
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 41:43
  SPEAKER_01: I lived wrong turn 2021 today.
• 41:46
SPEAKER_01: Did a little hike on the Appalachian Trail.
• 41:47
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
• 41:49
SPEAKER_01: The whole time I was waiting for a giant log to roll down and swish me.
• 41:53
SPEAKER_03: That scene where they're wearing their overalls and smiling and changing.
• 41:56
SPEAKER_03: Oh, and they're like taking photos, musical monk.
• 42:02
  SPEAKER_03: That's what it was.
• 42:03
  SPEAKER_03: The LLB commercial.
• 42:05
SPEAKER_01: The death will come later when that truck that just drove by murders us.
• 42:09
SPEAKER_01: The truck, not the people.
• 42:10
SPEAKER_03: For all of you listeners, we spent the entire dinner last night planning how we would uh combat any intruders if they came to murder us here.
• 42:20
SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, we're in a scary cabin in the middle of nowhere.
• 42:23
  SPEAKER_01: Nowhere to go.
• 42:24
SPEAKER_01: If we have to run on foot, we're gonna be running for a long time.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_02: I like the challenge of it.
• 42:33
SPEAKER_01: My favorite scary movie is The Cabin in the Woods.
• 42:36
  SPEAKER_03: Wow.
• 42:37
  SPEAKER_03: Boom, boom, boom.
• 42:38
SPEAKER_01: It has dethroned The Stranger's Prey at Night, which also slaps.
• 42:44
  SPEAKER_01: Also slaps.
• 42:45
