- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:18royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:33Do you? Have painful memories from your
- 0:41past. Maybe you were bullied.
- 0:44Abused. Maybe you went through difficult
- 0:46times. My name is Adam and in this
- 0:49session I was working with a client that had a very, very
- 0:54harsh childhood. In England.
- 0:57We have boarding schools where people live there.
- 1:01Basically throughout their childhood.
- 1:02They go back home for holidays and and breaks and back.
- 1:07At the time where this client who were in their 50s was there,
- 1:12they were very violent places. There wasn't a lot of protection
- 1:16for children and there was a lot of physical violence and abuse
- 1:20and bullying and a lot of very horrible things.
- 1:23I was working with this client and it shocked me the kind of
- 1:27things that they went through. This hypnosis session is
- 1:31designed. To really break free of.
- 1:34Some of those things because they had developed coping
- 1:38strategies that probably helped them pretty well when they were
- 1:42a child in a very vulnerable situation, but they're now a
- 1:46grown adult and has the ability to really look at things in a
- 1:50very different way. So this element.
- 1:53Is doing 2. Things really there's an element
- 1:55of regression and in a child work or timeline therapy to
- 2:00change those childhood associations, but also it uses a
- 2:04metaphor and the client while we were doing the the element the
- 2:10therapy element before the hypnotherapy was talking about
- 2:13how they feel trapped or that they're in a.
- 2:16Trap and what? I asked them what kind of trap
- 2:19it would be if it was a physical trap.
- 2:21They described it as a large mechanical bear trap.
- 2:24You know the kind of the ones with the the metal teeth that
- 2:27kind of spring shut. And that was.
- 2:30Important because. I like to utilize the metaphors
- 2:34that are already there in the mind of the client, because if
- 2:37you feel trapped, then you have limited choices.
- 2:40You feel stuck. It's difficult to move forward.
- 2:44All of these things are going on, but a mechanical bear trap
- 2:46means that it can be. Released you can.
- 2:50Release that mechanical bear trap.
- 2:52So we actually use that in the hypnosis session.
- 2:55I would say the kind of people that would benefit most from
- 2:58this session are people that have had historical abuse of
- 3:03some kind and it really affects the quality of your life and the
- 3:07feeling of worthiness that you have in your day-to-day life.
- 3:11Now obviously some of the suggestions are very unique,
- 3:14some of it does relate to regression, going back to
- 3:18specific memories. So just ignore any suggestions
- 3:21that aren't relevant, hone into the ones that feel useful and
- 3:24empowering. And if you do like the idea of
- 3:27working with me directly to have a bespoke session just for you,
- 3:31then there will be a link right there in the show notes where
- 3:33you can schedule a free consultation call that we can do
- 3:36over Zoom that lasts about 30 minutes.
- 3:38I'll answer any questions that you have and explain the process
- 3:41and how many sessions I think we would need if we were to work
- 3:44together. For now though, find a quiet,
- 3:48comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:50Relax and. Enjoy the session.
- 4:19Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:25resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:29And as you exhale, give permission to just release.
- 4:36Release any tension, any worries, any unworthiness.
- 4:43Just allow it, breath by breath, to feel like it's being released
- 4:50as you exhale, breathing in relaxation, but also a sense of
- 4:58worthiness, a feeling that you deserve good things, breathing
- 5:05in that worthiness and exhaling any unworthiness.
- 5:14That's it. And I want you to imagine that
- 5:20if worthiness had a colour, a texture, a frequency, what that
- 5:28would look like. Maybe a bright yellow buzzing
- 5:35with electricity, a vibrant, perhaps even with a sound, or
- 5:42maybe something else. Allow your unconscious mind to
- 5:46choose for you what worthiness would be represented as.
- 5:54And as you breathe in, imagine breathing in that colour, that
- 6:00texture, that frequency, that sound almost like it's
- 6:06recharging a battery but also melting away.
- 6:13Something that was linked to a belief in your past.
- 6:20I want you to think of a child that was told they're stupid,
- 6:25they'll never amount to much, it's not even worth trying.
- 6:31But if that child believed those things got older, they wouldn't
- 6:36apply for high status jobs or exciting opportunities.
- 6:44They wouldn't trust themselves to run their own business, not
- 6:48because of what's possible, but because of what they believe.
- 6:54So as you breathe in and breathe out, I want you to think of what
- 6:59you were told as a child. What words could have taken root
- 7:06that would lead you to feel unworthy and undeserving?
- 7:13And just consider them seeds planted in fertile soil back
- 7:22when your mind was looking to make sense of the world, to
- 7:26figure out who you were and what you can expect To breathe in
- 7:34that feeling of worthiness and continue to exhale any feelings
- 7:42of unworthiness. And feel perhaps that those
- 7:46seeds planted in childhood that perhaps have since grown into
- 7:52big plants or trees, Just imagine that the roots are
- 7:58loosening, weakening. What perhaps in the past would
- 8:05be impossible to remove is now the kind of thing that can be
- 8:12extracted. That's it.
- 8:17And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 8:22And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe, each
- 8:30breath taking you deeper and deeper.
- 8:35Relaxed. That's it, and I want you to
- 8:45think back to your past with a new lens, a new way of looking
- 8:52at things. And what if your past wasn't the
- 8:59breaking of you, but the making of you?
- 9:05What if certain qualities you have an abundance, even if you
- 9:13don't realize just how capable you are?
- 9:20I want you to think back to that defiant part, the part that kept
- 9:26going through sheer resilience, the determined part that refused
- 9:32to give up. And with every breath, you can
- 9:38allow your body to rest more deeply as your mind awakens to
- 9:45the truth. And I wonder if you can use the
- 9:54power of your imagination to imagine walking through a long
- 9:59corridor and the walls aligned with pictures or movies of your
- 10:06past. And some doors are open and some
- 10:12are closed and some are sealed shut.
- 10:18And behind those doors, the ability to re access memories
- 10:24and moments. Some bright, some dark, and some
- 10:30of those that once felt unbearable, but they're just
- 10:35memories behind doors and references on photos and movies
- 10:42on screens on the wall. And yet, as bad as that time
- 10:50was, you gone through it. You're here in your future.
- 10:56You made it, and you walked through storms that others would
- 11:01never understand. And there's a part of you that
- 11:08came out stronger. And each step you take in this
- 11:13corridor is proof that pain did not break you.
- 11:18It forged you. You are not fragile glass.
- 11:25No one can chatter you because you are tempered steel.
- 11:33And deep down, that defiance that was there in your childhood
- 11:40has always been there and is still there now.
- 11:44That part within you that thought that things weren't
- 11:49fair, that knew that this isn't right, that decided you deserve
- 11:58more than this. And what if that defines that
- 12:05refusal to accept? Injustice was never your floor,
- 12:13it was your superpower. And I want you to feel like a
- 12:20superhero, strong, impenetrable, unbreakable.
- 12:26As you continue to walk further down this corridor, there is a
- 12:31particular door with a particular memory that
- 12:37represents the very essence of that past.
- 12:46But I want you to walk through that door as an adult now,
- 12:52feeling with all of the strength and power of a superhero.
- 13:00And maybe it was a painful memory, but you are now your
- 13:07future self, going to rewrite that past by introducing your
- 13:15future into the past and changing things.
- 13:21As I count, from 5:00 to 1:00, you will imagine opening that
- 13:23door, walking into the memory, and bringing justice to that
- 13:30younger version of you that didn't have your resources. 5
- 13:37putting your hand on the door hand or 4 turning the hand or
- 13:40three opening the door. 2 Walking through the door, and
- 13:47one closing the door behind you and finding yourself in the
- 13:51memory at your current age and your current strength and seeing
- 14:00perhaps that younger version of you in need.
- 14:05Perhaps you can witness an injustice happening.
- 14:10Imagine yourself like Batman, coming to the aid of someone
- 14:14vulnerable. And I want you to feel
- 14:18empowered, strong, courageous. And when you've changed things
- 14:28to right that historical wrong, let me know by nodding your
- 14:32head. That's it.
- 14:41And then just remain you and the younger version of yourself,
- 14:49because that younger version of yourself was starting to form
- 14:52belief systems that were never true, that were just designed to
- 14:57protect. And I want you to ask that child
- 15:03what they are starting to believe about the world, about
- 15:07people, and just listen, because that younger version of you
- 15:16knows either what they believe or are about to believe.
- 15:26And if they say anything that to you, with all of your experience
- 15:31feels disempowering, offer them an alternative that would feel
- 15:39more beneficial. If they think that people are
- 15:45mean or cruel, you might correct them and say some people are,
- 15:51but most people are good, most people are caring.
- 15:57Or if they say that life in the world just isn't fair, maybe
- 16:01you're replying. It can be very unfair, but it
- 16:08can also be filled with wonderful, amazing
- 16:12opportunities. I want you to listen to that
- 16:18child, listen to the beliefs, and then offer them a more
- 16:22empowering alternative. And when you've done that, let
- 16:29me know about nodding your head. That's it.
- 16:40I want you to give that child a resource that you have now that
- 16:45you didn't have back then. You had defiance back then.
- 16:53You had courage back then. You weren't willing to appease.
- 17:03You weren't willing to just take unfairness, but I want you to
- 17:09think of something you now have, and maybe it's more wisdom, more
- 17:13experience, more physical strength.
- 17:19And just imagine giving that resource that you now have to
- 17:22that younger version of you. Imagine it as a glowing ball of
- 17:27energy and that resource to them.
- 17:30Feel and see them place it to their chest, absorbing that
- 17:35quality, that resource, and feel it rippling through time all the
- 17:41way to your present. You can feel the change in them
- 17:44happening in you. And maybe you feel more
- 17:53compassion for yourself, more love for yourself, more respect
- 17:59for yourself, more trust for yourself.
- 18:07I want you to imagine telling that child what they needed to
- 18:12hear. They are important, they matter,
- 18:18they are capable. And anything else you wanted to
- 18:21hear back then but didn't. No ridicule, no insults.
- 18:30What you really needed to hear back then.
- 18:35Give that younger version of you a hug and and leave that door.
- 18:43And somewhere in the corridor now almost looks like a
- 18:47mechanical bear trap. Huge rusted metal jaws.
- 18:55And imagine it clenched tightly around something precious.
- 19:00And then you realize that precious thing is you.
- 19:04You feel no pain, but you do feel the weight of the trap
- 19:08stifling you, limiting you, impeding you.
- 19:15And I wonder if we can give this trap a meaning.
- 19:21And maybe it's more than one meaning.
- 19:24Old associations or connections to the past, maybe guilt, shame,
- 19:30confusion, sadness. At some level, this trap is the
- 19:44most influential belief in your life still connected to your
- 19:49past. That is disempowering and it's
- 19:53difficult to live that liberated free life full of enthusiasm and
- 19:59passion with this. A big trap attached to you.
- 20:04It holds you back, it keeps you down.
- 20:11And you get to decide what this belief is.
- 20:17Maybe something as simple as you deserve bad things, you don't
- 20:26deserve good things, people are out to get you.
- 20:33There'll be 1 belief that resonates more than any other
- 20:38and that represents the trap. But you already know that people
- 20:44can believe things that aren't true.
- 20:49When you were a small child, you believed in tooth fairies and
- 20:52Father Christmas, and even as an adult you might know someone
- 20:57that, with every fiber of their being, believes in a conspiracy
- 21:01theory that you know isn't true. And if people can believe things
- 21:07that aren't true, then so can you.
- 21:10And the trap is this belief holding you back, weighing you
- 21:15down, stopping you from living the life that you desire.
- 21:23The trap was never your fault. It was built by circumstances,
- 21:29by people, by people that should have protected you but didn't.
- 21:35By moments you didn't choose. And for a long time, this trap
- 21:43has been holding you back and weighing you down, keeping you
- 21:46small and keeping you stuck to make you believe you were
- 21:51powerless. But as you look now at that
- 21:56trap, older, wiser, bigger and stronger, you realize something
- 22:04powerful. This trap is mechanical, and
- 22:11mechanical things can be understood and escaped.
- 22:16So imagine now, seeing the mechanism, how it clamps, how it
- 22:23holds, how it deceives. But every mechanical trap has a
- 22:31release switch. Bears don't know how to use it,
- 22:35but humans do. And somewhere within you, the
- 22:41superhero within you, that courageous, resilient, justice
- 22:47driven part knows exactly what to do.
- 22:52And imagine placing your hand on the spring mechanism and with
- 22:57strength that feels like the strength of a superhero, you
- 23:03press down on that spring mechanism and the trap begins to
- 23:10open. The pressure releases.
- 23:15This click is the sound of freedom as it fully opens.
- 23:25You step back and imagine immediately healing from any
- 23:29wounds from the trap. Just imagine feeling the weight
- 23:35of that trap, heavy, made of iron or steel, and feel that you
- 23:44don't need to carry this weight around with you anymore.
- 23:50The trap has no power over you now.
- 23:55It was never the metal that held you, it was the meaning.
- 24:01And the moment you change the meaning, the trap disappeared.
- 24:08What if your past didn't break you, but make you?
- 24:11And what if, because of your courage, resilience, you are now
- 24:18unbreakable? What if you now deserve
- 24:23wonderful things because you always did?
- 24:28You are free. And now, as you stand there, I
- 24:34want you to feel you are harnessing all of that pain, all
- 24:40of that injustice. It's transforming, alkalizing
- 24:45into something powerful. I wonder if you could imagine
- 24:50what it would feel like for your body to begin to glow, a
- 24:55radiant, powerful energy coursing through you.
- 25:02The strength of defiance becomes courage, the will to survive
- 25:09becomes resilience, and the the passion for justice becomes
- 25:14purpose. You are and always have been the
- 25:21hero of your own story, and every superhero has an origin
- 25:28story, moments of pain, loss or injustice that awaken something
- 25:36extraordinary within them. And this was yours.
- 25:43You are not broken, you are forged.
- 25:47All of that pain refined, refined by struggle, and all of
- 25:57those heavy emotions build something powerful within you to
- 26:01make you unbreakable. And from this moment forward,
- 26:08you no longer carry the past as a burden.
- 26:13Consider it, if you consider it at all, a badge of honour.
- 26:20But you don't have to dwell on the past.
- 26:23You are now free to move on from it with a new lease of life, new
- 26:29level of energy. All that was holding you back is
- 26:33now springing you forward. The past does not define you, it
- 26:38simply prepared you. And what if it was meant to
- 26:42happen to reach this point? So now you can move forward with
- 26:48a new sense of clarity, a new standard, a new level of living
- 26:56with freedom at your core. And I want you to imagine
- 27:02yourself now. At the end of a corridor is a
- 27:06wide open space. And you can see your future and
- 27:11perhaps you can imagine yourself in a few weeks, a few months,
- 27:15even a year from now. And I want you to see you
- 27:21navigating the world, your career, your family life as a
- 27:26new version of you. And you can tell something has
- 27:33shifted. Your posture is different.
- 27:35Your facial expressions are different.
- 27:37How you are in 1 to 1 interactions seems very
- 27:41different. You seem relaxed, calm and
- 27:44confident. Maybe you even seem like you
- 27:51stand taller, breathe deeper, and the way you hold eye
- 27:56contact, your facial expressions, your posture is
- 28:01open, relaxed and confident. And that version of you in your
- 28:08future is not arrogant, but it has that quiet pride filled with
- 28:16resourcefulness, filled with dignity and integrity.
- 28:24And looking at yourself, you smile because you know that the
- 28:28world can be chaotic, unfair, unjust and unpredictable.
- 28:34And yet you are unshaken and unbroken.
- 28:42You've escaped the trap, and every day you live from now on
- 28:48is an act of freedom. Because the past is a story, but
- 28:57you've rewritten the narrative. It's no longer a prison that
- 29:01you're connected to or live in, and you move forward now, away
- 29:08from the corridor, away from the memories, towards joy and
- 29:13passion, love and purpose, with a new standard.
- 29:22You are not willing to accept anything that falls short of
- 29:27what you truly deserve, and you deserve freedom, abundance,
- 29:36travel and connection. And think back to those old
- 29:44plants that came from those old seeds in childhood and consider
- 29:50them changed. Now the seeds were replaced with
- 29:56different seeds. Which of lead LED you to
- 30:01different plants producing different fruit or other things?
- 30:10And if the trees and plants are the beliefs in the fruit are
- 30:14your experiences and how the beliefs have changed, so too
- 30:19were your experiences, your thoughts and evaluations leading
- 30:24you to more wonderful things in your future.
- 30:30It's time to leave this place, but take back the feeling of
- 30:33freedom that that belief trap has been escaped, left behind,
- 30:42and you are now moving forward. So take a deep breath in through
- 30:46your nose and down through your nose.
- 30:51Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 30:53Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 30:58from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 31:02Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 31:09Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 31:12Wide awake. Wide awake.
