- 0:05Speaker 1: Apoday production.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We begin today by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the
- 0:13Speaker 2: land on which we gather today and pay our respects
- 0:16Speaker 2: to their elders past and present. We extend that respect
- 0:19Speaker 2: to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's here today.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Welcome to the Grow and Glow Podcast. I'm Ashy, I'm Kiara.
- 0:28Speaker 3: This is a podcast where we learn, laugh, and level
- 0:31Speaker 3: up together. Let's go deep, let.
- 0:33Speaker 1: The emotions flow, and find the lessons to grow and Glow.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Nothing is off the table with Grow and Glow and
- 0:38Speaker 1: we're here to be your expander. Hello everybody, welcome back
- 0:44Speaker 1: to the show. Welcome back to Grow and Glow. So
- 0:47Speaker 1: today we are talking about loneliness, spending time with yourself.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's hard to find with having children if
- 0:55Speaker 3: you are a mother.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Really hard, or a father, or a caregiver or a
- 1:00Speaker 1: one hundred percent We want to like just check in
- 1:02Speaker 1: with you all because we have had the opportunity to
- 1:04Speaker 1: have some time alone at the eating retreat that we
- 1:07Speaker 1: went to and really made us spark this conversation of
- 1:11Speaker 1: like how little time we get by ourselves, but how
- 1:14Speaker 1: important it is, uh huh. And I spoke about it
- 1:17Speaker 1: in my episode about my brain surgery with Baseline too,
- 1:20Speaker 1: just having even at the time in hospital and then eaten.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But now I'm trying to find more moments of quiet,
- 1:26Speaker 1: even if it's five minutes in my car before I
- 1:28Speaker 1: go from work to home, just to regather my thoughts
- 1:31Speaker 1: and ground and take some big breaths and just like
- 1:35Speaker 1: slow it down, because when you do, you get that
- 1:37Speaker 1: space to get clarity on what's going on and how
- 1:40Speaker 1: you're feeling. Actually ask yourself this, like, when was the
- 1:43Speaker 1: last time you actually had time by yourself?
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah? And when was the last time you like stopped
- 1:48Speaker 3: and were like consciously like, oh, I'm going to take
- 1:50Speaker 3: some time for me, not rush in to grab the
- 1:53Speaker 3: kids or sit out in front of the gate waiting
- 1:55Speaker 3: for fifteen minutes, just like sit.
- 1:56Speaker 1: On your own Yeah'll, And do you crave it? Like
- 2:00Speaker 1: how often do you think that you need it? Because
- 2:02Speaker 1: I know if you're more of an introvert, you need
- 2:04Speaker 1: a lot more than an extrovert, and you need that
- 2:07Speaker 1: to recharge your batteries, You need that just to feel good,
- 2:09Speaker 1: feel connected. And whether you've answered yes or no to
- 2:12Speaker 1: having it, how could you incorporate some more into your day,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and how would that positively impact your family and your
- 2:21Speaker 1: life and your energy?
- 2:22Speaker 3: So should we go back to Eden?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yes? Like?
- 2:25Speaker 3: Actually, like, do you want to leave now?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Oh? My gosh, can we go? It was so good?
- 2:29Speaker 3: So let's go back to Eden. Before we went to
- 2:32Speaker 3: go into Eden, what was your life like at home?
- 2:35Speaker 3: When was the last time you had some time on
- 2:37Speaker 3: your own?
- 2:37Speaker 1: I mean, I get up early before everyone, but I
- 2:40Speaker 1: go on a walk. I guess what I'm doing in
- 2:42Speaker 1: my walk working? I'm working. I clear all of my DMSU.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I get a lot every day, and I do that
- 2:48Speaker 1: all by myself. Now I clear all of my emails.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm getting on top of everything before the days started
- 2:52Speaker 1: because it does make me feel calm and knowing that
- 2:54Speaker 1: they're done. I'm on my stories, I'm on my Snapchat,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'm uploading to tiak top, I upload into YouTube like
- 3:00Speaker 1: all the shorts. I'm just getting ahead of the day.
- 3:03Speaker 1: So it's yeah, I'm alone, but it's not the alone
- 3:06Speaker 1: time that we're talking about and encouraging you to do
- 3:08Speaker 1: right now. So before that, no, I wasn't really having
- 3:11Speaker 1: time on myself.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like I'm definitely more of an introvert.
- 3:16Speaker 3: So I feel like for me, I really try to
- 3:19Speaker 3: fit in, and when I don't, I get really frazzled.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I don't feel like myself. I just need it to recharge.
- 3:25Speaker 3: But I haven't had my mornings because Rega girl's been
- 3:27Speaker 3: waking up super early still. But I do try throughout
- 3:30Speaker 3: the day when they're at school to just sit down
- 3:32Speaker 3: for even like fifteen minutes and read my book on
- 3:34Speaker 3: my own, Like I'll just go upstairs and I'll say
- 3:36Speaker 3: to myself, like when I eat my lunch, I'll go,
- 3:38Speaker 3: this is my lunch break, So have a break. Go
- 3:40Speaker 3: sit up there, even if it's fifteen minutes. While you're
- 3:42Speaker 3: eating at the same time, chill, put your phone down
- 3:46Speaker 3: and read.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Why do business owners not take lunch breaks?
- 3:48Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, we are so bad for that.
- 3:50Speaker 1: We grab our lunch and we keep eating while we're
- 3:51Speaker 1: on the computer, keeps eating in a team meeting. I
- 3:53Speaker 1: keep eating while we're checking on something in the warehouse.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Like it just we actually don't take a lunch break.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Steve has started doing that. He goes and gets a
- 4:01Speaker 1: salad sandwich and sits on Burly Hill. It takes half
- 4:03Speaker 1: an hour oh hour for a full days works a
- 4:07Speaker 1: lot sunlight, but sunlight on his skin. Time away process thoughts.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I'm like, good on your babe, that's really good.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It's really really nice, and I feel like it's something
- 4:15Speaker 3: that so many of us don't prioritize. Yeah, but yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 3: my life was pretty chaotic as well. Before Eden, I
- 4:21Speaker 3: did get like my fifteen minutes here or there. But
- 4:23Speaker 3: I felt like when I was heavily in my healing
- 4:26Speaker 3: journey and like going really deep, I needed time and
- 4:29Speaker 3: space or I was just not coping with life, like
- 4:31Speaker 3: I needed a heap of time to cope. And now
- 4:33Speaker 3: my capacity has gotten way better. Yeah, which is great,
- 4:35Speaker 3: but I feel like, also now I don't get as
- 4:37Speaker 3: much of that time because I'm like, oh, I am coping,
- 4:39Speaker 3: but you go and enjoy it as well. It's really
- 4:41Speaker 3: nice to have that time for yourself.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 4:45Speaker 3: How did we feel initially going in there?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Well, we've done a whole episode on this, so if
- 4:50Speaker 1: you want to hear the whole experience, go there. But
- 4:52Speaker 1: I don't think I expected to have as much alone
- 4:54Speaker 1: time as what we got, which was really cool. They
- 4:57Speaker 1: even put us in separate rooms. I initially thought they'd
- 5:00Speaker 1: put Kiera and I together. And I was like, sleep
- 5:01Speaker 1: with a vides and then no, they put us in
- 5:03Speaker 1: separate rooms. But they do that for a purpose. There
- 5:06Speaker 1: was one particular day that we had so much solo time.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I read most of my book at a really long
- 5:12Speaker 1: hot bath. I sat on the balcony journaled for ages.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I had a massive crying release and just plotted around
- 5:19Speaker 1: the cabin. It was so beautiful and I was like,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I cannot remember. I couldn't tell you the last time
- 5:25Speaker 1: that I had hours on end to myself. I got
- 5:28Speaker 1: a weekend like Steve and I might I might go
- 5:30Speaker 1: train for an hour and then I rushed back so
- 5:31Speaker 1: he can go train or go for a massage and
- 5:33Speaker 1: come back. But it's just not the same as actually
- 5:36Speaker 1: sitting still with no distractions, being able to be something
- 5:39Speaker 1: to do, I.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Know, like on your own. And also people are making
- 5:43Speaker 3: your bed for you, they're bringing your towls for you.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You have lunch and dinner made for yourself. There's nothing
- 5:47Speaker 3: to do.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It's so cool though, you actually just get to really
- 5:51Speaker 1: enjoy your own company.
- 5:52Speaker 3: There's no reception.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It's the best no reception.
- 5:55Speaker 3: We're going to do an episode on that too. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 3: it's so good, but it was beautiful. I feel like
- 6:01Speaker 3: the one thing I gravitated to was I took way
- 6:03Speaker 3: more bars and made me realize how much of a
- 6:06Speaker 3: nice solo activity that is to take for yourself. I
- 6:09Speaker 3: do not do that enough at home.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And I suppose I don't know about you, but my
- 6:12Speaker 1: bath is not full of toys and stuff. It's full
- 6:15Speaker 1: of toys. It's short, it's just not sometimes yeah, and
- 6:19Speaker 1: it's just not my bath. It's not very comfortable. Resistance
- 6:22Speaker 1: is like one of those big, long, deep, just gorgeous
- 6:26Speaker 1: baths you just like sink in. I feel like I
- 6:28Speaker 1: could sleep in it. It's so nice. But yeah, that
- 6:31Speaker 1: time was just awesome. It really recharged me and put
- 6:34Speaker 1: me on such a different vibration. It's like high vibe,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but calm high vibe. I felt so just clear and calm.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And this is only like a couple of days after
- 6:47Speaker 1: I've just been told I'm having brain surgery, and I
- 6:50Speaker 1: just felt so calm, so at peace, so trusting of
- 6:53Speaker 1: the universe and my plan and just everything's going to
- 6:56Speaker 1: be okay. And when you can live like that daily,
- 6:59Speaker 1: which is really hard in this modern day, or how
- 7:01Speaker 1: busy and hustling we all are, but it's cool to
- 7:03Speaker 1: experience that because it's like, Okay, I can't live like
- 7:06Speaker 1: that right now, goals one day, but I can incorporate
- 7:09Speaker 1: more of that into my day to day, into my
- 7:11Speaker 1: week to week and being this energy more. Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 3: And a cool thing too that I kind of took
- 7:16Speaker 3: away from it is that life still goes on without you.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Like you literally think that if you're not there for
- 7:22Speaker 3: you know, your kids every time they need you or
- 7:24Speaker 3: this or that, or like dinner's not happening, that's not happening.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It's like who cares, They're fine.
- 7:28Speaker 3: You're Actually it's really important for us to prioritize us
- 7:31Speaker 3: sometimes for us and the world kept spinning. Yes, everything
- 7:37Speaker 3: kept happening.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And I think a lot of moms get scared to
- 7:39Speaker 1: leave their kids with the dad. Not scared that someone's
- 7:41Speaker 1: going to happen to them, but like what if the
- 7:42Speaker 1: kids need if they miss me, But it's like they
- 7:45Speaker 1: might miss you, and guess what, that's also a normal
- 7:48Speaker 1: part of being a human. You miss people, they will
- 7:50Speaker 1: be okay. You build their resilience. They know that you're
- 7:52Speaker 1: coming back, Like that's a part of the process as well,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and they're fine without you, Like I remember at one
- 7:57Speaker 1: point for both of us were like, asked our husbands.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I don't know, they just seem so fine without us,
- 8:02Speaker 1: Like do they even miss me? Yeah, so it's like,
- 8:04Speaker 1: oh the fine. I was like, I think that's a
- 8:06Speaker 1: good thing. Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I was a little bit.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Cup Then I was like, of course they're fine. He's present,
- 8:11Speaker 1: they're having fun with him, they're fed, they're clean, they're
- 8:13Speaker 1: doing their thing. They're fine, And that's really cool.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I know. And I think we can just get so
- 8:18Speaker 3: in our own head that if we stop the world's
- 8:20Speaker 3: going to end. Like you just get so dramatic, like no,
- 8:22Speaker 3: but I need to make dinner, but I need to
- 8:24Speaker 3: do this. It's like if you make dinner ten minutes later, yes,
- 8:27Speaker 3: what is it actually going to change?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Or if you're washing sits or another couple of days,
- 8:31Speaker 1: it's fine, No, take the time when you can get it. Yes.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So true. It's interesting though when you reflect back on
- 8:39Speaker 1: like this whole alone thing, because I feel like I
- 8:42Speaker 1: enjoy it more and more as I get old and older.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And I was thinking back to my younger self, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: I hated being alone when I was younger, hated it.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I just felt so unsafe I felt unsafe in my body,
- 8:51Speaker 1: I felt unsafe in my environments. I just I never
- 8:54Speaker 1: wanted to be alone. I was always that kid that
- 8:56Speaker 1: was always at friend's houses. I always had a million
- 8:58Speaker 1: friends around, always wanted a boyfriend, Like I could just
- 9:01Speaker 1: never be alone. Like I look at eighteen year olds
- 9:03Speaker 1: like go on solo trips around the world and over
- 9:05Speaker 1: to Europe. I'm like, I would never have done that
- 9:08Speaker 1: by myself. Like I always needed someone, and I felt
- 9:11Speaker 1: like I grew a lot of codependence on my partners
- 9:14Speaker 1: and my friends. But these days it's like I need
- 9:18Speaker 1: that time alone. Otherwise I'm just same. I just feel
- 9:20Speaker 1: a bit more agitated and just regulated and flustered. Yeah, flustered,
- 9:25Speaker 1: that's the word, because all my energy is going out
- 9:27Speaker 1: to everyone else and all the things I need to do.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But when you're by yourself, you can just think what
- 9:30Speaker 1: do I need and I can just do that right now.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, and just more relaxation, hey, yeah, more relaxation. So
- 9:37Speaker 3: me growing up, Yeah, my house was really busy. There
- 9:39Speaker 3: was four of us girls together, so it was always loud,
- 9:42Speaker 3: always noisy, and yeah, I mean I feel like as
- 9:45Speaker 3: soon as I can remember, I've been trying to get
- 9:47Speaker 3: alone time. I honestly, you know, just trying to tuck away.
- 9:53Speaker 3: And I think for me personally a lot to like
- 9:56Speaker 3: regulating my nervous system, being someone who can get quite
- 9:58Speaker 3: anxious and can feel out of touch with you know that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I think having that solo time is just so great
- 10:04Speaker 3: for me, so good slowing myself down. And yeah, I
- 10:07Speaker 3: feel like my life has honestly always been pretty chaotic,
- 10:10Speaker 3: like just a lot of noise, a lot of stimulation,
- 10:12Speaker 3: a lot of things.
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's what you're used to. So you actually probably felt
- 10:15Speaker 1: safe in the noise because you don't know any different.
- 10:18Speaker 1: And that's why I think too, because I was saying
- 10:20Speaker 1: I felt safe in the noise and with company and
- 10:22Speaker 1: people and being busy that when I've stopped now and going,
- 10:26Speaker 1: it's almost like a little bit like uncomfortable.
- 10:29Speaker 3: It can be.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It can be can be, But once you push through
- 10:32Speaker 1: that and then you experience being safe on your own,
- 10:36Speaker 1: you're like, ah, this is actually really enjoyable. Yeah, now
- 10:38Speaker 1: I want more of it.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Kurt is quite uncomfortable in his own how Steve go
- 10:42Speaker 3: with like solo time.
- 10:43Speaker 1: No, he loves solo time, but I've noticed he will
- 10:46Speaker 1: not sit in silence. So he always has to have
- 10:49Speaker 1: music on, or there's the TV on, or he'll check
- 10:51Speaker 1: his phone. I've noticed now that I pulled back from
- 10:54Speaker 1: all of that. Yes, I'm like, God, do we always
- 10:56Speaker 1: have to have noise? It's that much? Just nice to
- 10:57Speaker 1: have music. I'm like, it is nice. But I'll notice
- 10:59Speaker 1: he won't ever sit in silence. Yeah, when he goes
- 11:02Speaker 1: to Burly Headland and has his lunch, he says he
- 11:04Speaker 1: just like looks at the or whatever. But I still
- 11:06Speaker 1: reckon he has a spot with him.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I still you want to be a fly on the wall.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I reckon he would still be worried that, like
- 11:13Speaker 1: one of the team members needs him and he's not
- 11:14Speaker 1: in the office.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't think he's great at that. He's
- 11:18Speaker 1: always doing something.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Kurt struggles a lot. He will go do things and
- 11:24Speaker 3: he loves it. He's like, I whant he for a surf,
- 11:25Speaker 3: I'm gonna go to the gym. But he is an
- 11:27Speaker 3: extrovert as well. But yeah, he still really struggles. He
- 11:31Speaker 3: loves solo time with me or with his friends.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Or with anyone else solo time.
- 11:35Speaker 3: No, he loves being like energy and being with people.
- 11:38Speaker 3: But yeah, I've been pushing him a little bit more
- 11:40Speaker 3: as well since coming back and be like just go
- 11:42Speaker 3: upstairs and like even just I saidn't take your time
- 11:45Speaker 3: having a shower. Yeah, just don't get up there and rush,
- 11:47Speaker 3: like stay out there for twenty minutes and then come
- 11:49Speaker 3: down like that is all it takes. Just like taking time.
- 11:52Speaker 3: He might look in the mirror and go, holy shit,
- 11:53Speaker 3: haven't shaved my beard for two weeks, Like those little
- 11:55Speaker 3: things that he actually realizes before it gets to the
- 11:58Speaker 3: point when you know you have the time and space, Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 3: spend with yourself.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Steve's got it, going for long walks and like listening
- 12:04Speaker 1: to a podcast once again, He's still listening to something.
- 12:06Speaker 1: He's still taking information in. But he loves the nature
- 12:09Speaker 1: walk listening to a podcast, so yeah, it's good solo time.
- 12:12Speaker 1: He's very introverted, so he doesn't like big events. He
- 12:16Speaker 1: doesn't like even like birthdays and stuff. He gets a
- 12:19Speaker 1: bit like, oh, it's going to be quite energy draining
- 12:21Speaker 1: for him, having a lot of conversation, being around a
- 12:23Speaker 1: lot of noise, a lot of people. So he's very
- 12:26Speaker 1: introverted in that sense. I'm in the middle. I call
- 12:28Speaker 1: myself an ambervert. I'm like, I can be extroverted around
- 12:31Speaker 1: the right people, You'll see me really come out and
- 12:34Speaker 1: like be loud and crazy and silly, and I can
- 12:36Speaker 1: organize and be the leader and like make decisions. But
- 12:39Speaker 1: then too much of people, I get trained, like I
- 12:42Speaker 1: do need my solo time as well. It's like in between,
- 12:45Speaker 1: do you get.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Tired, Like do you get say, if you're around energies,
- 12:48Speaker 3: do you walk home and be like, oh, I need
- 12:49Speaker 3: to like chill out like you feel.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's what ambivert is. If I'm around the
- 12:56Speaker 1: right people who won't drain me, it's like my close
- 12:58Speaker 1: friends and stuff like no.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Energies affect me so hugely. Even if I'm like with
- 13:03Speaker 3: my kids though all day, I'm like I just need like,
- 13:06Speaker 3: oh kids, Yeah, I feel that too, even home with Kurt, Like, yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 3: I don't know, I love everyone and I love it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It makes sense, but yeah, yeah, I don't think I
- 13:15Speaker 1: get enough of Steve to ever feel like that.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Kurt is honestly like he's always like what are you doing?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Like he just me throughout the day all the time.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm that to Steve.
- 13:25Speaker 3: You we are each other.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I called you Steve yesterday, I said him last night,
- 13:29Speaker 1: and my biggest pain in your ask because when I
- 13:31Speaker 1: called you yesterday you look like because I facetimed him,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I said, you look like you did not want to
- 13:36Speaker 1: see me. He's like, Babe, you called at twelve oh three.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I've launched one of our biggest end of financial new
- 13:43Speaker 1: sales of the year at twelve o'clock. Oh my gosh.
- 13:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't really want to have a little
- 13:48Speaker 1: catch up because the answers like yeah, babe, And I
- 13:51Speaker 1: was like, oh, hello to you too, and I don't
- 13:54Speaker 1: even know what I want to probably just want to chat.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I was just like, wow, you seem really annoyed. He's like,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm just juggling a few balls here that so I'm Kurt.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm like funny or even just like prance into his
- 14:05Speaker 1: office and be like, yo, what's up, just to like
- 14:08Speaker 1: I don't be silly, and he's always like, we're king.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Isn't it a nice balance in a relationship. I feel
- 14:14Speaker 3: like the you and Kurt pull us out a bit
- 14:17Speaker 3: more and get us, you know, like doing a bit.
- 14:19Speaker 1: More, and also annoy you guys.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Probably it's really nice. And court annoys me, yes, not
- 14:27Speaker 3: like a bad way girl.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I need to do.
- 14:30Speaker 3: The other day was in the shower and the first
- 14:33Speaker 3: time Kirk came up, I was like, oh hey, babe,
- 14:34Speaker 3: like this is nice, and I was like, okay, now
- 14:36Speaker 3: I'm trying to relax. I like my nice relaxation music
- 14:39Speaker 3: playing comes up again and I'm.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Like, okay, count a third time, and I turn it
- 14:43Speaker 4: to him and go, babe, just wait till I come downstairs,
- 14:46Speaker 4: Like just give me a minute, Like it's nice going
- 14:49Speaker 4: to come up and have a look, or you want
- 14:50Speaker 4: to like have a little a lot of It's like,
- 14:53Speaker 4: just give me a chance to actually, like chill a look.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Honestly, he's that shower.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I can see him doing that.
- 15:02Speaker 3: It's so funny, such a curt thing.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, mean him so simple, and I'll be
- 15:07Speaker 1: like you are so I don't feel like with my kids,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I get like that, like if I'm with them, save
- 15:14Speaker 1: when Steve went to Japan, I had like ten days
- 15:16Speaker 1: without him. Times. Yes, I need my time, but yeah,
- 15:22Speaker 1: I don't get enough of Steve to get like that.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But I totally hear what you're saying for sure.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, love and appreciate the time. It's just what
- 15:29Speaker 3: I say to Curt All the time, like it's nothing
- 15:30Speaker 3: against you, everything with me. I need the grounding.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, it's definitely all within.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I know Eden is maybe not in touch for everyone
- 15:41Speaker 3: listening to our podcast right now, but.
- 15:44Speaker 1: If it is, you should go. It's amazing.
- 15:46Speaker 3: But if it's out of reach, once a month, walk
- 15:49Speaker 3: out a day just to have a day where you're
- 15:51Speaker 3: not rushing and you have nothing on to just be
- 15:56Speaker 3: and just like do whatever you fancy on that day,
- 15:59Speaker 3: whether that be like do a little bit of painting,
- 16:00Speaker 3: or do this or do that. Even tagged team with
- 16:02Speaker 3: your hobby on a Sunday, Yes, take a few hours.
- 16:05Speaker 3: That's so nice, And just to get that time away
- 16:08Speaker 3: from the noise. There's just so much going on sometimes
- 16:10Speaker 3: in our homes to either get them out or to
- 16:15Speaker 3: like I love when I have the house on my own,
- 16:18Speaker 3: so nice. Yeah, it's beautiful.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I honestly don't get that often. But on a Thursday,
- 16:22Speaker 1: when Targs at school, when Steams at the office and
- 16:24Speaker 1: I'm with Taal and she goes for her lunchtime nap,
- 16:27Speaker 1: I feel like a prance around like a fairy. I'm like,
- 16:29Speaker 1: oh my gosh, the options endless what I want to do.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I just feel so peaceful, got this beautiful big backyard
- 16:36Speaker 1: by the pool. Are lay on the couch to have.
- 16:38Speaker 3: A read like it's so lap up the naptime, lap
- 16:41Speaker 3: it out girl friend two hours, it's amazing. Oh that's gosh,
- 16:45Speaker 3: I miss snapped.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Be a sad time this. Yeah, you're right. It's like
- 16:50Speaker 1: you book in your appointments. You book in you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: you work meetings, you book in everything else. Why don't
- 16:54Speaker 1: you book in a day or just a time the weekends.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I feel like it's really nice to tag teams Steve
- 16:58Speaker 1: when I do that often, whether it go for a
- 17:00Speaker 1: massage or on a Sunday, I'll go for a nature walk.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Then he'll go for a nature walk, and there's no
- 17:04Speaker 1: time them how long we need to be Just take
- 17:06Speaker 1: me time, you go for your walk, do what you
- 17:08Speaker 1: got to do, and then we come back. It's so
- 17:10Speaker 1: nice and then both our cups are filled up. We
- 17:13Speaker 1: feel regulated and calm from being a nature and having
- 17:15Speaker 1: our own time. And then were the best parents of
- 17:17Speaker 1: the kids.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah, one hundreds.
- 17:18Speaker 1: If we don't get that time, yeah, set you up nice.
- 17:21Speaker 3: For the week too. To do it on a Sunday
- 17:23Speaker 3: and then the next day, you know is Monday and Sunday,
- 17:25Speaker 3: Arbo's a little bit busy again. We need to start
- 17:27Speaker 3: making school lunches and making sure everything's ready for school
- 17:29Speaker 3: the next day. But if you can do that on
- 17:31Speaker 3: a Sunday, yeah, just set you up.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Thanks so much for listening, guys, Hope you enjoyed it.
- 17:36Speaker 1: A nice short little reminder just to check in and yeah,
- 17:39Speaker 1: ask yourself those questions we asked at the start, like
- 17:41Speaker 1: do you spend time alone? Do you want to? If not?
- 17:44Speaker 3: Why?
- 17:45Speaker 1: I think that some people get scared to be alone
- 17:46Speaker 1: because when you're alone, your thoughts come up. Yeah, your
- 17:49Speaker 1: feelings come up, and that can be uncomfortable and scary
- 17:51Speaker 1: because then you've got to deal with them. I kept
- 17:53Speaker 1: busy for so long with people with things, with hustling
- 17:56Speaker 1: with work because I didn't want to sit in those feelings.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Wasn't ready to tackle them. I wasn't ready to do
- 18:01Speaker 1: that work. But to do that work, you do need
- 18:04Speaker 1: to carve out time. I'mc need time to process and
- 18:06Speaker 1: reflect and reconnect with yourself. That's why I didn't like it,
- 18:10Speaker 1: because I just as soon as I sat still, I
- 18:11Speaker 1: would think about my past. I would think about what's
- 18:14Speaker 1: wrong in my life, what's not working and all the
- 18:16Speaker 1: self down, just all the negative stuff. I just didn't
- 18:18Speaker 1: want to deal with it, so I kept being busy.
- 18:21Speaker 1: So if you don't enjoy your own time, maybe that's
- 18:22Speaker 1: something to think about too, Like why what am I
- 18:25Speaker 1: running away? What are you running away from? And like
- 18:27Speaker 1: numbing out with whether it's being busy on social media,
- 18:29Speaker 1: I'll be busy with your friends or eating so true,
- 18:32Speaker 1: whatever it is something really important to check in with
- 18:35Speaker 1: and just try it. Just spend five minutes tomorrow out
- 18:37Speaker 1: the sun just see how nice that can be, and
- 18:39Speaker 1: then extend it out to fifteen minutes of you know whatever. Yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 1: and then take an hour tagg him with your partner
- 18:44Speaker 1: on the weekend.
- 18:45Speaker 3: That five minutes out in the sunshine, Oh, just wonder,
- 18:47Speaker 3: it's beautiful.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And then step it up. Book a day, book a night.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Away, a day once a month sounds really reasonable, I think. So.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I'm like, I feel like we could all try to prioritize.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so done, deal lock it in. Yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 1: thanks for joining guys, We'll talk to you soon.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Bye,
