- 0:52Speaker 3: so he might have life abundantly not be overwhelmed. That's
- 0:56Speaker 3: what we're going to be talking about in today's episode
- 0:59Speaker 3: with Miss Broumguard. We're gonna be talking about the pace
- 1:04Speaker 3: of peace and how we as Christians have access to
- 1:06Speaker 3: a piece that the world doesn't have. But it's gonna
- 1:12Speaker 3: take some discipline to get there.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I hope you're ready. Let's dive in.
- 1:17Speaker 3: What's up, guys. This is coach Alex van Houden on
- 1:19Speaker 3: the Faithful Fitness podcast. Our mission is to help you
- 1:21Speaker 3: to make the most out of the body God's given
- 1:24Speaker 3: you and I'm joined by Miss Michelle Broumguard Happy Thursday.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Michelle, how are you doing today?
- 1:30Speaker 4: I'm doing good. Thanks for having me.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And thank you for being here.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Michelle is the host of the Pace of Peace podcast.
- 1:38Speaker 3: She's a health coach, she's mom of two. And before
- 1:41Speaker 3: we get into the conversation we're going to have today
- 1:44Speaker 3: about peace and in relationship to our health and fitness journey,
- 1:48Speaker 3: I gotta ask, you have one that just graduated, and
- 1:51Speaker 3: you've you've got one in the high school age. How's
- 1:54Speaker 3: it feel to look at one of your children and say, Wow,
- 1:57Speaker 3: I have an adult.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's a little surreal, to be honest, because I home
- 2:04Speaker 4: educated her since second grade, and my son has always
- 2:08Speaker 4: been home educated. And as she graduated early learning to
- 2:13Speaker 4: navigate an adult in your house, it's like starting all over.
- 2:19Speaker 4: And at the same time, I look at her continually,
- 2:22Speaker 4: both of our kids, because our oldest is Leah, our daughter,
- 2:25Speaker 4: she's almost nineteen, and then we have our son who
- 2:27Speaker 4: is almost fifteen, so he's a freshman. But I look
- 2:32Speaker 4: at them and I'm like, man, the faithfulness of God
- 2:35Speaker 4: and his mercy is evident on display through both of them.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Wow, what a what a huge blessing.
- 2:43Speaker 3: My boys are ten and six, and so I often
- 2:48Speaker 3: pray about the men they're becoming, But that man only
- 2:53Speaker 3: exists in the vision of their father. There's still there's
- 2:58Speaker 3: still you know, reffling to each other feathers and fighting
- 3:01Speaker 3: swords in the in the hallway and giving their mam
- 3:04Speaker 3: a hard time sometimes and breaking arms and that sort
- 3:08Speaker 3: of thing. So it's it's so wild to think about
- 3:10Speaker 3: them as adults someday. But I also know that this
- 3:13Speaker 3: time passes so quickly. Uh, and we try to make
- 3:17Speaker 3: the most out of out of every moment. Sounds like
- 3:19Speaker 3: you did the same through home education.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been it's been wild to this process. Like
- 3:27Speaker 4: I still like, right now she's getting groceries for me.
- 3:31Speaker 2: What, like you've arrived, okay, yes, And she's like, I.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Thought I was just getting a couple of groceries. This
- 3:38Speaker 4: is like whole grocery hall, mom, And I'm like, yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 4: it'll be good practice for you though, I mean, she's
- 3:42Speaker 4: got a credit card that's ours, So it's not like
- 3:45Speaker 4: she's paying the bill.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah right, right, But isn't that Isn't that the truth? Though?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Like you go to the store to get a few
- 3:52Speaker 3: things and then there's all this other stuff like, oh, well,
- 3:55Speaker 3: we need that too, and I mean, either I get
- 3:57Speaker 3: it now or have to come back later.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Which is such a drag.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Welcome to adulting, Leah, No, I feel that.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm so glad that that we get the opportunity to
- 4:09Speaker 3: have this conversation today because one of your one of
- 4:12Speaker 3: your core ministry positions and one of the core things
- 4:16Speaker 3: that you want to get out in the world. It's
- 4:19Speaker 3: the subject of the book you have coming out in January,
- 4:22Speaker 3: it's the subject of your podcast, and that is the
- 4:25Speaker 3: pace of peace. And I've got to tell you, in
- 4:27Speaker 3: the health world, there's not a lot of people talking
- 4:30Speaker 3: about peace.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So first first I have to ask Michelle.
- 4:35Speaker 3: How did peace as a topic of importance for health
- 4:39Speaker 3: and fitness and for your spiritual practice and for your household.
- 4:43Speaker 3: How did peace become something so important and powerful for
- 4:47Speaker 3: you that that's going to I mean, you wrote about
- 4:50Speaker 3: it and you're committed to publishing a podcast weekly on
- 4:54Speaker 3: the subject. How did that become a thing for you?
- 4:59Speaker 4: Well, I set out maybe maybe three years ago to
- 5:03Speaker 4: write a book on something completely different, okay, And the
- 5:09Speaker 4: writing coach I work with says, you're the first product
- 5:12Speaker 4: of your book. You're the first person to be you know,
- 5:16Speaker 4: transformed in the writing of your book. And I am
- 5:19Speaker 4: an avid journaler. I love to journal, and in doing
- 5:24Speaker 4: some research for what I thought I was going to
- 5:26Speaker 4: write about, I just felt in the intimacy of prayer.
- 5:30Speaker 4: It just in reviewing looking for something else, I suddenly
- 5:34Speaker 4: noticed this theme throughout my journals of because that's where
- 5:39Speaker 4: I leave like the vulnerable things right, like the moms.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I'm not saying guys don't do this, but there's so
- 5:45Speaker 4: many burdens we carry as moms, specifically that we never
- 5:49Speaker 4: tell anybody, and the journal is the one place that
- 5:53Speaker 4: I pour it out. And I noticed this theme of like, Wow,
- 5:58Speaker 4: how many years have I I've been praying for peace? Wow,
- 6:03Speaker 4: whether it was peace in my body because I struggled
- 6:07Speaker 4: with my body for many years, or if it was
- 6:10Speaker 4: peace in my marriage because my husband and I have
- 6:14Speaker 4: a rough beginning to our marriage. We're soon approaching twenty years.
- 6:17Speaker 4: But those first couple of years were a little little
- 6:19Speaker 4: tense or peace in between kids, like when you've got
- 6:24Speaker 4: kids home all day, like nothing is going to test
- 6:27Speaker 4: your piece more than two kids and trying. Like my
- 6:31Speaker 4: my dear daughter, she knows I'll talk about this, but
- 6:34Speaker 4: man teaching her math when it came easy to me
- 6:37Speaker 4: and not to her created a lot of learning opportunities
- 6:41Speaker 4: for me to practice patients but also to get at peace.
- 6:46Speaker 4: And unfortunately I didn't really learn it a whole lot
- 6:48Speaker 4: in the process of teaching her. It was it's more
- 6:50Speaker 4: of like an after thing that my son's getting the fruit.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Our poor oldests that we had to cut our teeth on.
- 6:57Speaker 2: But having a.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Girl and a boy, I feel like I've too oldest
- 7:00Speaker 4: in a lot of ways.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Because it's so different. I bet yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 4: But ultimately my passion from peace came from that revelation
- 7:08Speaker 4: of like, wait, this is something I've prayed for my
- 7:12Speaker 4: entire life and I just didn't recognize it. And then
- 7:17Speaker 4: I saw this theme of how God has been teaching
- 7:20Speaker 4: me peace all along. I just didn't recognize it. But
- 7:24Speaker 4: I've always seen Jesus as my best friend. Holy spirit
- 7:28Speaker 4: is the ultimate like guidance, counselor and whisper in my ear,
- 7:32Speaker 4: and then the Father being the one who never shames me,
- 7:34Speaker 4: guilts me, and loves me unconditionally. And with that revelation
- 7:39Speaker 4: of desiring peace, I'm like, wait, my best friend has
- 7:43Speaker 4: been peace all along, and it's just been this. It
- 7:48Speaker 4: was revelatory and then immediately this passion like just came
- 7:53Speaker 4: came forward of like I want the whole world to
- 7:55Speaker 4: know that this journey of life I've been on seeking
- 7:59Speaker 4: peace that I now have clarity on, Like that's what
- 8:02Speaker 4: I was seeking for. Yeah, but that peace is only
- 8:05Speaker 4: found in Christ.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Amen.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Amen, there's a there are very very powerful passage in
- 8:11Speaker 3: the Gospels where Christ. I believe it's in John when
- 8:15Speaker 3: he says to his disciples my peace. I give to
- 8:17Speaker 3: you my peace I leave with you. I don't give
- 8:19Speaker 3: as the world gives. And he talks about a peace
- 8:22Speaker 3: that surpasses understanding. And so I think that I think
- 8:27Speaker 3: it's worthwhile for this conversation for us to kind of
- 8:29Speaker 3: say what peace is not and then if we if
- 8:33Speaker 3: we can try to try to wrap our heads around
- 8:35Speaker 3: what peace actually is. Because when I say a peaceful household,
- 8:39Speaker 3: I think of I think of when my children go
- 8:44Speaker 3: to stay with the gig and my wife and I
- 8:50Speaker 3: have a few moments of peace and quiet, right and
- 8:53Speaker 3: and like, that's not that's not what we're talking about here,
- 8:57Speaker 3: because there is calm, there is quiet, there is solitude,
- 9:01Speaker 3: there is there is restfulness that that exists in pockets
- 9:05Speaker 3: in our life. But if I'm a mom or a dad,
- 9:08Speaker 3: and and I'm I'm doing things in my career, things
- 9:11Speaker 3: in business, I might be seeking for for something that's
- 9:15Speaker 3: not quite peace from.
- 9:17Speaker 2: A scriptural perspective.
- 9:19Speaker 3: So so in your mind, what is peace not? What
- 9:21Speaker 3: is this thing you were praying for that you thought
- 9:23Speaker 3: you were asking for and and weren't getting maybe or
- 9:28Speaker 3: or maybe getting in little glimpses and whatnot. And in
- 9:32Speaker 3: your understanding, and I imagine it's it's something you unpacked.
- 9:36Speaker 3: And in writing your book, that's that's what a good
- 9:38Speaker 3: book does, is you kind of wrestle through with this
- 9:41Speaker 3: this thing that you learned that you want other people
- 9:43Speaker 3: to be able to grab onto and maybe shorten the
- 9:45Speaker 3: learning curve for everybody else too.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That's why I wrote my book and the Faithful Fitness
- 9:50Speaker 2: devotional And and what did you learn that peace is not? What?
- 9:56Speaker 2: What is peace.
- 9:58Speaker 4: M Well, I would say the peace that I was
- 10:01Speaker 4: seeking that I as far as like felt in my body.
- 10:07Speaker 4: You know, I don't, at least for me my experience
- 10:10Speaker 4: a lot of times is and it's still true, like
- 10:12Speaker 4: for any of your listeners. Don't think like I've magically
- 10:15Speaker 4: arrived that I'm this super peaceful woman and I never
- 10:18Speaker 4: lose my pool or I never feel anxious or depressed.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Like that's not truth.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, same here.
- 10:24Speaker 4: So just to be clear, however, God's given me practices,
- 10:29Speaker 4: He's brought me revelation that I quickly reset and I
- 10:34Speaker 4: realized the piece I was seeking in full transparency, was
- 10:39Speaker 4: peace that early on in my teens in early twenties
- 10:42Speaker 4: that I hoped a pill would give me. You know,
- 10:45Speaker 4: and there's nothing wrong with anti anxiety medicine or anti
- 10:48Speaker 4: depression medicine, but I was hoping to have peace being
- 10:52Speaker 4: a quick fix. Yes, Like if I get this solution,
- 10:57Speaker 4: I'll have peace. If I get to this weight in
- 11:01Speaker 4: my body, I'll have peace, you know, if I accomplish
- 11:06Speaker 4: this fitness goal, I'll have peace. Or if this is
- 11:11Speaker 4: a real, very real one. I actually talk about it
- 11:13Speaker 4: in my book at one point, if my kids would
- 11:16Speaker 4: just take a nap. At the same time, I could
- 11:19Speaker 4: have some peace, no joke, right, And a lot of
- 11:24Speaker 4: that has to do with nervous system regulation. That's a
- 11:27Speaker 4: lot of it because I grew up experiencing some trauma
- 11:31Speaker 4: throughout my early life, and I realize a lot of
- 11:35Speaker 4: the desire for peace had to do with nervous system regulation. However,
- 11:39Speaker 4: that's still of the world. Like when I am losing
- 11:44Speaker 4: my peace, I've lost sight of Christ. Because when I've
- 11:50Speaker 4: realized I've experienced the supernatural, unexplainable. Piece is when I've
- 11:56Speaker 4: gotten a phone call that should destroy my day and
- 12:00Speaker 4: I'm able to stand firm and to breathe, and I'm
- 12:04Speaker 4: able to speak with calm and confidence and in the moment,
- 12:09Speaker 4: able to renew my mind on what is true. Or
- 12:14Speaker 4: in the midst of seeing kids fight and my flash,
- 12:19Speaker 4: you know, we talk about our weak side, like I
- 12:22Speaker 4: want to grab a hold of them, right, or you know,
- 12:24Speaker 4: say like straighten up, stop being so mean to each other,
- 12:27Speaker 4: like come on and be adults.
- 12:29Speaker 2: You know.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Whatever it is peace that's found in Christ that surpasses
- 12:34Speaker 4: understanding is being able to look at them be quiet.
- 12:37Speaker 4: First of all, that's some wisdom as you your kids
- 12:40Speaker 4: get older sometimes like they're learning how conflict management. But
- 12:45Speaker 4: a piece that surpasses understanding is looking at that someone
- 12:48Speaker 4: having a disagreement and just sitting back and praying and
- 12:54Speaker 4: not letting someone else's emotion or anger or something impact mine.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Mm hmm, because I'm able to go vertical in that
- 13:05Speaker 4: moment and be like.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I.
- 13:09Speaker 4: You'll you've if you've listened to my podcast Pauls and
- 13:11Speaker 4: Pray episodes are my favorite, where I just invite people
- 13:14Speaker 4: to pause and to pray and just to be in
- 13:17Speaker 4: His presence. Like biblical piece is that chaos can be
- 13:22Speaker 4: swirling around you and you seek the one who is peace,
- 13:27Speaker 4: and you stay solid, you stay unshaken. You don't let
- 13:33Speaker 4: the things of the world sway what you're about to
- 13:35Speaker 4: say or how you react. You're a first responder instead
- 13:39Speaker 4: of a reactor. As I have a mentor once.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Say yeah I could, I could see that it's actually
- 13:46Speaker 3: as you were speaking. Gives me this, this picture of
- 13:49Speaker 3: Christ throughout the Gospels where people are constantly astounded and
- 13:52Speaker 3: astonished and amazed by by him because there's there's obviously
- 14:00Speaker 3: Jesus was on a different playing field wisdom wise, knowledge wise,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and his ability to teach, and is that his ability
- 14:10Speaker 3: to to just be as a presence in the world.
- 14:14Speaker 2: He was on a different playing field.
- 14:15Speaker 3: But if you if you read the Gospels and in
- 14:20Speaker 3: the same way you might read I don't know the
- 14:23Speaker 3: Lord of the Rings with Jera or Tolkien, I don't
- 14:25Speaker 3: know if you appreciate the Lord of the Rings. Not
- 14:26Speaker 3: that they're in the they're not the same thing. One's
- 14:28Speaker 3: literature and one one's actual scripture.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But but but if.
- 14:32Speaker 3: You if you read scripture and you try to smell
- 14:35Speaker 3: the sea salt air while Jesus is walking beside Galilee,
- 14:38Speaker 3: and you picture the disciples and what they have to say,
- 14:42Speaker 3: and how they're kind of missing things and stuff, you
- 14:45Speaker 3: can easily imagine that Jesus is the kind of man
- 14:47Speaker 3: that when he walks into a room, everybody notices, and
- 14:53Speaker 3: it was more peaceful after he walked into the room
- 14:57Speaker 3: than it was when he wasn't there. And and so there's
- 15:01Speaker 3: this there's this presence of peace that constantly follows him
- 15:05Speaker 3: throughout the Gospel. In fact, the Bible calls him the
- 15:08Speaker 3: Prince of Peace. And so that's that's a that's not
- 15:11Speaker 3: just a trade of his it's it's it's a it's
- 15:15Speaker 3: a mode of.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Being for him.
- 15:18Speaker 3: And and understanding that about about Jesus, you you also
- 15:23Speaker 3: have to kind of appreciate what he was walking through.
- 15:26Speaker 3: You know, at any given time he had he had
- 15:28Speaker 3: his his twelve disciples arguing about who's going to be
- 15:32Speaker 3: the greatest or you know, they have all these questions.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I don't know, you have two kids. I have two
- 15:36Speaker 2: kids as well. Sometimes I experience in children's ministry where I'm.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Responsible for forty kids, and and I'm always getting pecked
- 15:43Speaker 3: on the arm, like mister Alex, mister Alex, mister Alex,
- 15:46Speaker 3: mister Alex, and and so and so there's the there's
- 15:49Speaker 3: these times where I'm separated in a bunch of different
- 15:51Speaker 3: directions keeping the peace, making sure, you know, little Susie
- 15:55Speaker 3: shares her toys with little Jimmy, and and and the
- 15:58Speaker 3: fourth graders aren't yelling at the first graders for being
- 16:01Speaker 3: bad at kickball and that sort of thing, and and
- 16:04Speaker 3: in all of these things, though, the chaos that I
- 16:07Speaker 3: experience in that setting is not not even quite on
- 16:10Speaker 3: the same level as what Jesus was experiencing with the
- 16:13Speaker 3: Roman guards keeping the Jews subjugated and the religious leaders
- 16:18Speaker 3: spreading lies about him, and then you know, you know,
- 16:21Speaker 3: somebody's always pecking him on the show, Hey.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Will you heal my friend? Hey, I'm sick? Will you
- 16:25Speaker 2: cast this demon on my child?
- 16:27Speaker 3: And and in all those moments, what I believe about
- 16:31Speaker 3: Christ is that he maintained.
- 16:34Speaker 2: His peace throughout the Gospel and was well. He was
- 16:40Speaker 2: perfect in that. I'm not perfect in that, but he
- 16:43Speaker 2: was perfect in that.
- 16:45Speaker 3: And definitely doesn't mean everything was always calm around him exactly,
- 16:51Speaker 3: but he was never overwhelmed by what was happening all
- 16:55Speaker 3: around him. And I want to talk about this idea
- 16:58Speaker 3: of overwhelm. You just you just out a podcast I
- 17:00Speaker 3: think last week on I don't think it's overcoming overwhelm.
- 17:06Speaker 3: It's something like when you are overwhelmed, here's four simple
- 17:09Speaker 3: steps to address this overwhelm.
- 17:13Speaker 2: And you you.
- 17:15Speaker 3: You based it on Philippians four eight. Whatsoever things are pure,
- 17:18Speaker 3: whatsoever things are true depends on the translation you like
- 17:21Speaker 3: to like to speak about. But but, and I would
- 17:25Speaker 3: point anybody listening to this podcast, I would point them
- 17:27Speaker 3: to your podcast. Your podcast is primarily toward women, and
- 17:31Speaker 3: the it always makes me feel weird by the way,
- 17:34Speaker 3: like this podcast is for women. Well, I'm going to
- 17:36Speaker 3: listen to about three episodes so I understand what you're
- 17:39Speaker 3: doing in the world.
- 17:40Speaker 2: They're so good though, they're so so useful, so helpful.
- 17:46Speaker 3: You you led ladies through an exercise of how to
- 17:50Speaker 3: prayer fully prioritize that chaotic list of things that are
- 17:56Speaker 3: going on in your mind, and that is that is well,
- 18:02Speaker 3: it's very practical, it's very biblical, and it's very useful.
- 18:07Speaker 3: So I was going to ask you, when you think
- 18:10Speaker 3: of peace in my mind, that the dark backside of
- 18:16Speaker 3: that is overwhelmed, Like in my mind, these are these
- 18:19Speaker 3: are contrasting antonyms or opposites. If you ask my little
- 18:24Speaker 3: little six year old, what's the opposite of short, he'd
- 18:26Speaker 3: say tall. If you ask him what the opposite of
- 18:28Speaker 3: black is, he'd say white. If I had to say
- 18:30Speaker 3: what the opposite of pieces, I would say it's overwhelmed.
- 18:33Speaker 2: That might be too simple, but it's a thing for sure.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Can you tell me more about overwhelm that you've experienced
- 18:43Speaker 3: as a as a mom and that you when you
- 18:46Speaker 3: prayerfully pursue peace. What kind of overwhelm?
- 18:50Speaker 2: How do you define that?
- 18:51Speaker 3: What kind of overwhelming you helping ladies overcome in your
- 18:54Speaker 3: podcast work.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Yeah, as far as a mom over is definitely the
- 19:01Speaker 4: never ending to do list, which is why I just
- 19:04Speaker 4: recorded that podcast last week because I'm like, it's not
- 19:10Speaker 4: going to stop. The to do list is continually and
- 19:13Speaker 4: I know for a lot of moms. The other key
- 19:15Speaker 4: place of overwhelm is the famous question what's for dinner?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Let's take it a step further. What's for dinner? That
- 19:24Speaker 4: comes for a lot of moms is well, what should
- 19:27Speaker 4: I eat? What should I give my kids to eat?
- 19:31Speaker 4: What can we afford?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Well?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Is that enough? Is that too much? Well? Do I
- 19:37Speaker 4: force them? Or do I not force them? Like, there
- 19:39Speaker 4: is a list that reels through our minds around that
- 19:44Speaker 4: one question of what's for dinner? And it quickly can
- 19:48Speaker 4: spiral into overwhelm, very quickly in a matter of minutes,
- 19:53Speaker 4: especially if you haven't planned, which is why I like
- 19:56Speaker 4: to teach simple, practical things that I've learned to prioritize
- 20:02Speaker 4: what's the most important, keeping it simple. But overwhelmed can
- 20:06Speaker 4: also be a schedule. Maybe your kids have this isn't me.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I really guarded early on that my kids were not overscheduled.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Something I'm pretty passionate about But I'm not going to
- 20:20Speaker 4: judge another parent on their choices to parent ever, because
- 20:25Speaker 4: I don't know your kids right like you, God entrusted
- 20:28Speaker 4: those kids to you, so I believe God's giving you
- 20:30Speaker 4: the wisdom and discernment and how to parent those kids. However,
- 20:34Speaker 4: for us, we typically don't like to have a lot
- 20:37Speaker 4: in our schedule. But however, overwhelmed can look like, oh
- 20:41Speaker 4: my goodness, I have to run a kid here, and
- 20:43Speaker 4: then I've got to run a kid there, and.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Do they have this?
- 20:46Speaker 4: Do they have that? So overwhelmed can look like I
- 20:51Speaker 4: really would like eight hours of sleep, right, Like that
- 20:56Speaker 4: can be overwhelmed. Yeah, I can go on and one
- 21:00Speaker 4: about overwhelm and how it comes for the mom because
- 21:03Speaker 4: there's also the overwhelm, you know. With the pace of piece,
- 21:06Speaker 4: I'm focusing on body, soul, and home because we face overwhelmed.
- 21:12Speaker 4: There's a barrage of messages coming against us as women
- 21:16Speaker 4: and men that can be overwhelming, but also our soul,
- 21:22Speaker 4: which is our mind, will and emotions. But we're also
- 21:26Speaker 4: responsible for our home. Just listing those three things feels overwhelming.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Tell me right? Yeah?
- 21:31Speaker 4: So yeah, But for me, like I just found this
- 21:38Speaker 4: continual overwhelm about how to care for my body and
- 21:44Speaker 4: then also how to care for my kids in a
- 21:47Speaker 4: way that is honoring to God because one of my
- 21:51Speaker 4: especially in more recent years in this fitness health world,
- 21:57Speaker 4: is Lord, help me not to glorify you and not
- 21:59Speaker 4: my self.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Right, mm hmm.
- 22:03Speaker 4: So that's a tension point of overwhelm of life, just
- 22:08Speaker 4: all the choices, right, there's so much information in there
- 22:11Speaker 4: of like what is wrong, what is right? And ultimately
- 22:15Speaker 4: it comes back to like what has the Lord told me?
- 22:17Speaker 2: Mm hmm, and what's in the word well said? And
- 22:22Speaker 2: did that answer your question? Yeah? Well, you know.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It's talking about overwhelm, is overwhelming all by a self?
- 22:29Speaker 3: Because so there's there's actually a male female difference here
- 22:32Speaker 3: and this is this is wrapped up in the neuroscience.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You might appreciate knowing this or you might already know it.
- 22:36Speaker 3: And that is that the male corpus colosum, that's the
- 22:40Speaker 3: that's the part of the brain that unites the two hemispheres,
- 22:43Speaker 3: the one that's exposed a language and the other one
- 22:46Speaker 3: that's more imagistic in it's in its language. Uh, the
- 22:49Speaker 3: male corpus colosum is not very dense. The two parts
- 22:53Speaker 3: of my brain don't talk to each other as well
- 22:56Speaker 3: as the female corpus close. I'm on average, right, the
- 22:58Speaker 3: female corpus close very dense. That means there's a lot
- 23:01Speaker 3: of highways, a lot of a lot of connection between
- 23:04Speaker 3: both sides of the brain. And so men and women
- 23:07Speaker 3: both feel overwhelmed, but men generally have a hard time
- 23:11Speaker 3: articulating what's overwhelming to them, whereas women. If you say,
- 23:15Speaker 3: what's got you so overwhelmed? The list never stops, It's
- 23:19Speaker 3: gonna it's just gonna keep going, like what do you
- 23:21Speaker 3: gotta do today?
- 23:22Speaker 2: Oh? What? Like it's a better question, what don't I
- 23:24Speaker 2: have to do?
- 23:25Speaker 3: That would probably be a shorter list because because in
- 23:29Speaker 3: the in the female brain, and I'm not saying every
- 23:31Speaker 3: woman's like this personality wise, but just.
- 23:33Speaker 2: In the structural way that our brains work.
- 23:36Speaker 3: In the female brain, it's it's a lot easier to
- 23:39Speaker 3: generate a list of things that are overwhelming to you
- 23:43Speaker 3: without even trying. And that sucker follows you around everywhere.
- 23:48Speaker 3: And you actually spoke about this on on your podcast.
- 23:51Speaker 3: You said, Hey, I want to invite you to sit
- 23:52Speaker 3: down and write down all the stuff that just for
- 23:57Speaker 3: these next couple minutes. I want you to write down
- 23:59Speaker 3: all all the stuff that you feel like you have
- 24:01Speaker 3: to get done.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Right, and that's very powerful.
- 24:06Speaker 3: And then you invited and this I think this is
- 24:09Speaker 3: this is a biblical idea. You based it on Philippians
- 24:11Speaker 3: for it, but I also think it Christ speaks to
- 24:14Speaker 3: this on the Sermon on the Mount, you invited your
- 24:18Speaker 3: your listeners to prayerfully look at the list and to
- 24:22Speaker 3: ask God to show them the three most important things,
- 24:26Speaker 3: the three things that I'm going to focus on today
- 24:29Speaker 3: because all this stuff, sure it's important, needs to get done. Yep,
- 24:33Speaker 3: Like that's why it's on your brain. You're not you're
- 24:35Speaker 3: not saying it's not important. You are saying you're one
- 24:38Speaker 3: person with only so much energy, so much mental will power.
- 24:42Speaker 3: You don't even know some of the things that are
- 24:44Speaker 3: going to happen to you today. So so with that
- 24:47Speaker 3: in mind, that humble perspective, that peaceful perspective in mind,
- 24:52Speaker 3: what are those three things that that you can focus
- 24:56Speaker 3: on and that and that you can actually affect today
- 24:58Speaker 3: and the other stuff. It's not that it's not important,
- 25:00Speaker 3: it just might not get done today.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And that is okay. Jesus said it this way. Seek ye.
- 25:06Speaker 3: First, the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all
- 25:11Speaker 3: of these things he's talking about, what we're going to eat,
- 25:14Speaker 3: and what we're gonna wear, and and all the other
- 25:17Speaker 3: stuff we worry about. All these things will be added
- 25:20Speaker 3: to you because there's the there's the one thing I
- 25:23Speaker 3: need to do today is walk in lockstep with my
- 25:26Speaker 3: father and then and then all the other stuff that
- 25:29Speaker 3: I feel like are important to me. I can just say, Hey, God,
- 25:35Speaker 3: is this really important to your heart right now? Is
- 25:39Speaker 3: this something we really need.
- 25:40Speaker 2: To get done?
- 25:40Speaker 3: If if not, then I'm just happy to be next
- 25:43Speaker 3: to you. That's for me. That's that I believe that's
- 25:47Speaker 3: the core of peace. And you like to say something
- 25:50Speaker 3: very specific, I'll let you speak to it. But but
- 25:52Speaker 3: peace isn't necessarily a feeling. What is What is peace?
- 25:55Speaker 2: To you?
- 25:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the mission of everything I'm doing right now
- 26:02Speaker 4: because I was seeking the emotion. So I like to
- 26:06Speaker 4: say that peace isn't only the emotion we desire or
- 26:09Speaker 4: the feeling we desire. Ultimately, it's the person we follow,
- 26:12Speaker 4: who is Christ himself or the Prince of peace, as
- 26:15Speaker 4: you mentioned.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Amen. Amen.
- 26:18Speaker 3: And what assurance, by the way, what assurance if I'm
- 26:22Speaker 3: walking with Christ this big list of things that needs
- 26:25Speaker 3: to get done in my mind. It's not like it's
- 26:28Speaker 3: not going to happen. But ugh, it's not overwhelming anymore.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's the thing, right, it's not overwhelming anymore. You use
- 26:39Speaker 3: the example of laundry, and you said you don't like
- 26:42Speaker 3: using this example because for many people, laundry is overwhelming,
- 26:45Speaker 3: but for you.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It's what did you say, it's I like doing laundry.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I like doing laundry. Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 4: I like the systematic aspect of it and the sorting,
- 26:55Speaker 4: and I find it actually calming. And I know that's
- 26:58Speaker 4: really uncommon among women. I learned that early on.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Yeah, well, well for many women.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And I don't want to speak for all women here,
- 27:05Speaker 3: but I know for my wife, for instance, if I
- 27:08Speaker 3: have a list of things I need to be up
- 27:10Speaker 3: to in laundry feels like extra, and there's other stuff
- 27:16Speaker 3: I feel like I need to be up to, then
- 27:18Speaker 3: then it does feel stressful. It's like I'm doing this
- 27:21Speaker 3: thing that's keeping me from doing the things.
- 27:24Speaker 2: That really matter.
- 27:25Speaker 3: But this is the Proverbs thirty one thing, like, who
- 27:28Speaker 3: can find a virtuous woman? Her value is beyond rubies?
- 27:32Speaker 3: Skip down a few verses her children are clothed in
- 27:36Speaker 3: Linen's man. Keeping your kids clothes is kind of important.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Man. They mess it up and they tear their stuff.
- 27:43Speaker 3: This is a this is a priority, just like cooking
- 27:47Speaker 3: dinner is a priority, so so so powerful and important
- 27:51Speaker 3: that that that gets done in the house. And I
- 27:54Speaker 3: want to you know, redeem and encourage that work. Like
- 27:58Speaker 3: and I say, this is a who folds laundry and
- 28:01Speaker 3: cooks in my house too. It's an important job to
- 28:05Speaker 3: make sure everybody has clean clothes to wear, and it's
- 28:08Speaker 3: an important job to make sure that our food is
- 28:10Speaker 3: made with love. And if there are other things that
- 28:12Speaker 3: feel super important, it's it's worthwhile to prayerfully check myself
- 28:18Speaker 3: how how important can something possibly be beyond feeding us.
- 28:23Speaker 2: As a family.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I know, I'm not I'm not dissing anybody else's priority us. Hey,
- 28:28Speaker 3: we've got we've got soccer to coach, and I've got
- 28:31Speaker 3: drum lessons to teach, and I've got a business to run.
- 28:34Speaker 3: All those things, all those things are powerful and important.
- 28:38Speaker 3: But as a family and in the home, as as
- 28:40Speaker 3: you've you've spoken about here, when we as a family
- 28:44Speaker 3: can can buy example and prayerfully get that priority list, right,
- 28:52Speaker 3: so we can remove a lot of that overwhelm, remove
- 28:55Speaker 3: a lot of that stress, remove a lot of that anxiety,
- 28:57Speaker 3: especially from the day to day, week to week things
- 29:00Speaker 3: that you know make up life something powerful and well
- 29:04Speaker 3: peaceful I hope happens, which I imagine is why you've
- 29:07Speaker 3: called it the pace of peace. Can you tell me
- 29:10Speaker 3: more about this whole pacing idea.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Well, I'll give you a sneak peek. Pace is actually
- 29:16Speaker 4: I love acronyms, and pace is an acronym, so is peace.
- 29:23Speaker 4: But pace, first of all a girl up on a
- 29:27Speaker 4: dairy farm. And yes, I'm a trained fitness instructor. However,
- 29:32Speaker 4: when I went through the instructor training with revelation illness
- 29:37Speaker 4: of ministry that I am connected with, I was a
- 29:42Speaker 4: health coach looking for a way of teaching nutrition that
- 29:47Speaker 4: was less of the world, which my training was more
- 29:50Speaker 4: of as a health coach. But anyhow, I used to
- 29:54Speaker 4: have this saying that I don't run or unless the
- 29:57Speaker 4: cows get out. My native name is walker, so I
- 30:02Speaker 4: would always be like, see, I was even named a walker,
- 30:06Speaker 4: you know, from birth, so I always like to use
- 30:09Speaker 4: that as my like cop out for moving my body.
- 30:15Speaker 4: You know, what thing do we talk about in the
- 30:16Speaker 4: fitness world with pace more than probably anywhere is walking
- 30:19Speaker 4: and running or for myself, my husband and I really
- 30:23Speaker 4: enjoy hiking again though, like we were training. We hiked
- 30:29Speaker 4: the Grand Canyon with Revelational on us six years ago
- 30:32Speaker 4: and a big part of training, just like for a
- 30:34Speaker 4: marathon or anything else, is tracking your pace. Right, But
- 30:40Speaker 4: ultimately when we release our pace to the Lord, what
- 30:45Speaker 4: do we do? We pray and continue earnestly done. And
- 30:52Speaker 4: that's the acronym the Lord gave me for pace, because
- 30:57Speaker 4: to know me is to know that I am a
- 30:59Speaker 4: person who prays. My closest friends know that I just
- 31:06Speaker 4: it's it's part of who I am. Right, Like you say,
- 31:09Speaker 4: train hard, but pray harder, and I was like, I
- 31:11Speaker 4: love that because yeah, ultimately it's our connection with the
- 31:15Speaker 4: Lord and prayer, simpler conversation. But as I'm you know,
- 31:20Speaker 4: walking because I love a good walk. That's like one
- 31:24Speaker 4: of my favorite ways of movement. Pace or any any
- 31:29Speaker 4: goal really even your to do list your day, when
- 31:32Speaker 4: you're pacing life, the pace of peace is when you
- 31:37Speaker 4: pray and continue earnestly. So that's not saying pace is
- 31:42Speaker 4: twenty miles per hour or one mile per hour, because
- 31:47Speaker 4: how you live your life and how I live my
- 31:49Speaker 4: life could look very different because we're wired differently, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 4: just like someone who's walking. You know, when my husband
- 31:58Speaker 4: and I first dated, because of the nature of my
- 32:00Speaker 4: work at the time, when you know, back in the
- 32:02Speaker 4: day of malls, we don't have many malls anymore around us,
- 32:06Speaker 4: at least, you know, I was the faster walker. He'd
- 32:09Speaker 4: be like, where are you running to? And it was
- 32:12Speaker 4: just the nature of my work at the time, so
- 32:14Speaker 4: I had a faster pace. And now the role has
- 32:18Speaker 4: shifted because I have been at home for the last
- 32:22Speaker 4: almost twenty years as my primary work and ministry, so
- 32:27Speaker 4: I'm not in that pace of corporate world anymore. And
- 32:32Speaker 4: he's running large jobs and walking a lot more. And
- 32:36Speaker 4: now I'm like, it's funny how our paces have shifted.
- 32:41Speaker 4: You know, I had to learn to slow down. But
- 32:43Speaker 4: that's just in relation to walking in the physical but
- 32:46Speaker 4: it's also the same as spiritually. Yes, you know, your
- 32:50Speaker 4: walk with the Lord looks different than mine. So I
- 32:55Speaker 4: keep coming back to pace is the acronym prey and continuer,
- 33:01Speaker 4: you know, he Bruce twelve. You know, we each have
- 33:04Speaker 4: a race to run. Pace yourself. That's one of my
- 33:08Speaker 4: favorite things to tell people. I mean, a good trainer
- 33:10Speaker 4: you probably have said this to someone if they were
- 33:13Speaker 4: training for a five their first five k, like, just
- 33:15Speaker 4: pace yourself, pace yourself, you know, Like the ultimate goal
- 33:21Speaker 4: is to finish, and we want to finish well, like
- 33:24Speaker 4: I would imagine, just like myself. You want to hear
- 33:27Speaker 4: well done, good and faithful servant.
- 33:29Speaker 2: M hm.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Well, ultimately, how do we finish? We can we continue
- 33:34Speaker 4: to pray mm hmm, continue to seek God first in
- 33:37Speaker 4: all things. So that's where pace comes from. So when
- 33:42Speaker 4: you're praying and continuing earnestly every day, seeking God first,
- 33:47Speaker 4: and we've already established he's the Prince of peace, you're
- 33:51Speaker 4: going to have the pace of piece.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I love. That's that's how it'll comes together. That's a
- 33:56Speaker 2: great acronym.
- 33:57Speaker 3: And I like, I like the earnestly part, you know,
- 34:00Speaker 3: because because yeah, you gotta there's there's this thing, you know,
- 34:05Speaker 3: and from from a masculine perspective, there's this thing about about.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Women and and being the weaker vessel blah blah blah.
- 34:15Speaker 3: And and I'm not saying that's that's anti biblical. But
- 34:19Speaker 3: I have trained women in majority for most of my career,
- 34:25Speaker 3: and what I have found is that men have their
- 34:28Speaker 3: strength and women have their strength, and the strength is
- 34:32Speaker 3: a little bit different. I think of of men's strength
- 34:34Speaker 3: as being able to help us move forward up the hill,
- 34:38Speaker 3: and I generally think of women's strength as being the
- 34:41Speaker 3: strength that keeps us from falling down the hill backwards.
- 34:45Speaker 3: And both are so necessary and so powerful and important,
- 34:49Speaker 3: and and I've met so many super strong women in
- 34:52Speaker 3: my life. The prey and continue all by itself sounds like, oh,
- 34:58Speaker 3: that's prey and yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong. Praying can be peaceful and soft
- 35:03Speaker 2: and gentle, but.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Sometimes there's an earnestness necessary to getting through life. Sometimes
- 35:09Speaker 3: there's earnestness necessary to complete the task that God's given you.
- 35:14Speaker 3: And while Jesus was the prince of peace, there is
- 35:18Speaker 3: some grit in that.
- 35:19Speaker 2: There is some endurance. And that makes me think of
- 35:22Speaker 2: Galatians six'. Nine let us not grow.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Weary in doing the good That god's given us to,
- 35:28Speaker 3: do for in the end we will reap the harvest
- 35:31Speaker 3: if we do not give. Up there's some, earnestness in
- 35:35Speaker 3: some indomitability in that peace for. Sure and, also And
- 35:39Speaker 3: i'd love to hear what you think about, THIS i
- 35:42Speaker 3: believe that peace necessarily requires. Defending IF i choose, peace
- 35:51Speaker 3: IF i choose not to be overwhelmed today by my large,
- 35:54Speaker 3: list AND i choose to be close to the heart
- 35:57Speaker 3: of The, father there's going to be times in my
- 35:59Speaker 3: day where something's going to challenge that something's going to
- 36:03Speaker 3: try to pull me off. Sides and and sometimes it
- 36:06Speaker 3: might be, me because you, KNOW i don't need to
- 36:08Speaker 3: give the devil too much. Credit and sometimes it might
- 36:11Speaker 3: be friends and family or unexpected. Happenings sometimes it might
- 36:15Speaker 3: be a trial That god has given me so THAT
- 36:19Speaker 3: i can grow in. Him and then sometimes there's just
- 36:23Speaker 3: good old fashioned fiery darts from the enemy trying to
- 36:27Speaker 3: ruin ruin this peace right and so so in in your,
- 36:31Speaker 3: mind what are one of the WELL i don't want
- 36:34Speaker 3: to stay in your. MIND i actually want at this
- 36:35Speaker 3: point TO uh to point my listeners to a free
- 36:39Speaker 3: resource that you've invited us to grab a hold, of
- 36:42Speaker 3: and that is five proverbs we can pray while being.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Overwhelmed can you can you talk about that a little?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Bit the links in the show.
- 36:50Speaker 3: NOTES i, WANT i want anybody who's made it this
- 36:52Speaker 3: far in our conversation to go grab. It, uh it's
- 36:54Speaker 3: it's free to them to check. Out but but tell
- 36:57Speaker 3: me more about this defensive peace in this.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Tool.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Yeah so it's this is WHERE i am like one
- 37:08Speaker 4: of my prayers is to be able to just know
- 37:11Speaker 4: scripture off the top of my. Head that is something
- 37:15Speaker 4: that is not a strength of mine and be LIKE
- 37:18Speaker 4: i can talk about a concept And i'd be, like
- 37:20Speaker 4: it's in The, bible but you need to give me
- 37:21Speaker 4: a minute to like reference. It and that's part of
- 37:25Speaker 4: where this resource was birthed, from because off the top
- 37:29Speaker 4: of my, Head i'm not one to be able to
- 37:31Speaker 4: quickly quote. Scripture it is a Prayer i'm continually asking
- 37:36Speaker 4: The lord to do as someone who's overcoming brain fog
- 37:40Speaker 4: for several, YEARS i think that's part of. It but
- 37:44Speaker 4: that's part of where the resource came, from because it's
- 37:47Speaker 4: something that can easily be printed out and put in
- 37:50Speaker 4: a place that where maybe it's a commonplace you recognize.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Overwhelmed i'm a big fan for women put it in
- 37:56Speaker 4: the bathroom or put a sticky note on. MIRROR i
- 38:01Speaker 4: continually am saying, that LIKE i have scriptures on My
- 38:03Speaker 4: if you ever want to know What i'm struggling, with
- 38:05Speaker 4: you can just look at my bathroom mirror and you're
- 38:07Speaker 4: gonna get a, theme probably within the scriptures that are on.
- 38:11Speaker 4: There but the idea, DEFENSIVELY i love a good cleansing
- 38:18Speaker 4: breath because no matter where you, are you can pause
- 38:24Speaker 4: and take a deep. Breath and that's something that the
- 38:28Speaker 4: world will tell, you. Right but what we can do
- 38:32Speaker 4: as believers is partner it with. Scripture so that's where
- 38:36Speaker 4: that tool comes in of praying the word mm.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Hmm so in, THERE i.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Give scriptures with a prayer because sometimes when you're in
- 38:46Speaker 4: the midst of, overwhelm you don't know what to, pray.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Right So i'm, like, here here's some written prayers for
- 38:52Speaker 4: you that you can, say come into, agreement you, know read.
- 38:56Speaker 4: It BECAUSE i never want someone to just pray something
- 39:00Speaker 4: because you're coming into agreement with it without reading at.
- 39:02Speaker 4: First that's just a personal. Conviction SO i invite, you,
- 39:05Speaker 4: like read the prayer and then read it, aloud make
- 39:08Speaker 4: it your. Own be, empowered because it is defensive to
- 39:13Speaker 4: pray the scripture. BACK i often leave My bible open
- 39:17Speaker 4: in my bedroom SO i can quickly just go in
- 39:21Speaker 4: there and give myself a quick time out and just
- 39:25Speaker 4: read the scripture and pray it back to The. LORD
- 39:28Speaker 4: i think there's nothing that he loves more is our
- 39:32Speaker 4: imperfection of being, like, Okay, lord here's your. WORD i
- 39:36Speaker 4: know it is. True you know you are The prince
- 39:39Speaker 4: of hees here you, know m h.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Renew my.
- 39:43Speaker 4: MIND i mean sometimes this is not holy. WHATSOEVER i
- 39:47Speaker 4: don't but maybe you can let me know if you've done.
- 39:51Speaker 4: This BUT i KNOW i, have AND i know other
- 39:53Speaker 4: women that have because we've talked about. It you have
- 39:55Speaker 4: en up The bible because you're in, overwhelm you're. Frustrated
- 39:58Speaker 4: you pick up The bible and you just drop it
- 40:00Speaker 4: it and you're, Like, lord give me something have you
- 40:04Speaker 4: done THAT.
- 40:06Speaker 2: I? HAVE i have.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Before Thankfully psalms is in the middle of The, bible
- 40:10Speaker 3: so you usually end up, With.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Yeah the psalms are proverbs, usually And i'm, like thank, You.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Lord and the REASON i did proverbs as defensive is
- 40:19Speaker 4: because proverbs is, wisdom And i'm, LIKE i want to
- 40:23Speaker 4: start with. Wisdom so they're just really simple, prayers but,
- 40:30Speaker 4: yeah they're earnestly is definitely, defensive and The the THING
- 40:37Speaker 4: i loved about that word that is defensive, too is
- 40:41Speaker 4: WHEN i think, earnestly it's don't give.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Up mm, hmm, yeah.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Yep we have a lot of options when when we
- 40:50Speaker 3: when we Follow, christ we have a lot of options
- 40:54Speaker 3: about exactly what that, means or exactly What he's equipped to,
- 40:58Speaker 3: you what gifts he's given you to.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Do but one thing we all have in common is
- 41:02Speaker 2: we don't get to give.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Up that's the that's the that is what You you
- 41:08Speaker 3: keep walking with him one one step in front of the.
- 41:11Speaker 3: OTHER i don't worry too much about. Tomorrow today has
- 41:14Speaker 3: enough worries of its. Own one foot in front of the,
- 41:17Speaker 3: other AND i FIND i do find that to be
- 41:20Speaker 3: very encouraging and very, challenging while at the same time
- 41:25Speaker 3: being so incredibly. REASSURING i only have to worry about
- 41:31Speaker 3: this next step ahead of. Me that's and AND i
- 41:34Speaker 3: THINK i think Of paul actually as we're talking, here
- 41:37Speaker 3: with with this this amazing gift and calling on his
- 41:43Speaker 3: life to spread The gospel to the, gentiles like he's
- 41:47Speaker 3: he's got this, thing you, know and and he's willing
- 41:50Speaker 3: to do, it and he's excited to do, it and
- 41:52Speaker 3: he's motivated and inspired to do, it you.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Know but but like he's one.
- 41:57Speaker 3: Guy he doesn't have, YouTube you, know, like, yeah go
- 42:01Speaker 3: spread this to the known world like.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Okay but but as deeply as there's a sense of
- 42:07Speaker 2: urgency in his, mission it is you read throughout acts
- 42:11Speaker 2: or you read through any of his epistles written in
- 42:14Speaker 2: The New. Testament never once is he Telling christians to hurry,
- 42:19Speaker 2: up LIKE i.
- 42:21Speaker 3: CAN'T i can't think of one, verse AND i challenge
- 42:24Speaker 3: any any of my listeners to find one for, me
- 42:26Speaker 3: like speed.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Up let's.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Go uh he. He he talks about running a. Race
- 42:31Speaker 3: he doesn't talk about beating everybody. Else he talks about
- 42:33Speaker 3: running a. Race he talks about having a sense of
- 42:38Speaker 3: urgency because because surely come, Quickly Lord, Jesus like he
- 42:42Speaker 3: talks about, that but it's, not it's, not oh my,
- 42:45Speaker 3: gosh you have to do all of this stuff right,
- 42:48Speaker 3: now get it. Done he, says to get close To
- 42:52Speaker 3: god's heart and then to keep following one one step
- 42:56Speaker 3: at a time every. Day and that's and that's how
- 42:58Speaker 3: we as the church big see, church that's how we
- 43:01Speaker 3: as followers Of. Christ that's that's PLAN, a and there's
- 43:05Speaker 3: no PLAN. B like that's how that's How christ's will
- 43:09Speaker 3: will be done here on earth as it is in,
- 43:11Speaker 3: heaven is if every single one of us have a
- 43:13Speaker 3: personal relationship with him and walk with, him follow, him
- 43:17Speaker 3: grow with, him and do the good work that he
- 43:19Speaker 3: set us here to, do and support each other while
- 43:22Speaker 3: we're at.
- 43:22Speaker 2: It there's, well there's just not a.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Rush there's, urgency but but there's not a rush to
- 43:29Speaker 3: get it all done right.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Now AND i THINK i think for me that's a
- 43:33Speaker 2: that's a deep core of as we've been talking about,
- 43:36Speaker 2: here just the.
- 43:37Speaker 3: The pace of. Peace so thank you for your. Acronym
- 43:39Speaker 3: thank you for your book coming out In. January thank
- 43:42Speaker 3: you for your. PODCAST i think that it's going to
- 43:44Speaker 3: help so many as as, well women primarily seeking for practical,
- 43:51Speaker 3: tools and, heck just the the permission from another mom
- 43:56Speaker 3: to to do, this to do this thing at the
- 44:00Speaker 3: pace of, peace rather than to run around phrenetically and.
- 44:05Speaker 3: OVERWHELMED i wanted to give you an opportunity to leave
- 44:08Speaker 3: our listeners with a couple final thoughts BEFORE i pray
- 44:10Speaker 3: over you and your ministry and close our conversation down
- 44:13Speaker 3: here in your mind in, Heart, michelle what do you
- 44:16Speaker 3: want to make sure that listeners hear from you before
- 44:19Speaker 3: we close this.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Podcast, YEAH i.
- 44:23Speaker 4: Think the big thing THAT i pray that your listeners
- 44:27Speaker 4: here BECAUSE i know you, know more than likely your
- 44:29Speaker 4: listeners are wanting to change their. Body because faithful fitness
- 44:34Speaker 4: is that even with your, body, mind, body, soul your
- 44:38Speaker 4: home is That god not in a hurry about that,
- 44:41Speaker 4: either you. Know so if you're a woman who is
- 44:44Speaker 4: striving for a certain, size, again The prince of, peace you,
- 44:52Speaker 4: know just pray and continue earnestly hear, him seek him
- 44:57Speaker 4: that you can trust him with your, body just like
- 45:01Speaker 4: you can trust him with your. Kids so, ultimately like
- 45:05Speaker 4: peace is found in. Him anytime that you find yourself
- 45:09Speaker 4: starting to strive or fall into shame and guilt, cycles
- 45:14Speaker 4: whether you know that, spectrum whatever it. Is that one
- 45:19Speaker 4: of my favorite, sayings and it's one of the podcast
- 45:22Speaker 4: titles That i'll do. Monthly it's Just pauls and. Pray
- 45:27Speaker 4: Just pauls and. Pray and you can do that anywhere
- 45:31Speaker 4: in a car line lifting a weight that feels too.
- 45:34Speaker 4: Heavy even in THAT i would challenge even in those
- 45:37Speaker 4: moments of where you do get a pair of pants
- 45:39Speaker 4: that are a size, smaller or you lift a heavier,
- 45:42Speaker 4: weight or you make a really good, meal pause and
- 45:46Speaker 4: pray and. Gratitude look for the evidence of. Healing that's
- 45:50Speaker 4: another THING i like to, say look for the evidence
- 45:53Speaker 4: Of god in your. Life that there is evidence of
- 45:56Speaker 4: peace every. Day if you look for, it you'll find
- 45:59Speaker 4: it because it's ultimately not the emotion we, follow the
- 46:04Speaker 4: emotion we, seek it's the person we.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Follow, well Said, michelle thank you so much for this.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Conversation would you mind praying with me SO i can
- 46:12Speaker 3: pray over you and your. Ministry, YEAH i would love
- 46:15Speaker 3: to thank, You Father, God thank you so much for this.
- 46:18Speaker 3: Day thank you for the opportunity to spend time with my.
- 46:20Speaker 3: SISTER i Pray lord that you'll Bless michelle and her good.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Work thank you for the calling you've placed on her
- 46:26Speaker 3: life and for helping her to see that peace as
- 46:29Speaker 3: an emotion is not the same thing as peace in
- 46:34Speaker 3: the person Of Jesus.
- 46:36Speaker 2: GOD i pray that peace over her and her. HOUSEHOLD
- 46:39Speaker 2: i pray that peace over our listeners. Today It's.
- 46:42Speaker 3: GOD i pray a blessing over her podcast and her.
- 46:45Speaker 3: BOOK i pray that we would know. Peace as you
- 46:49Speaker 3: said you left with, us AND i pray that we
- 46:52Speaker 3: would know it in a different way than the world has,
- 46:54Speaker 3: it so that those who don't know you will look
- 46:59Speaker 3: at your people and, go.
- 47:00Speaker 2: HUH i want?
- 47:02Speaker 3: That how DO i get? It and we can tell
- 47:05Speaker 3: them about. You we love, You lord And jesus'.
