We've tested ourselves. Let's get back to the episode Johnna: Yeah, definitely a year plus. How does it feel being back in front of a mic? Because I'm a little like discombobulated. What about you? I feel okay. Yeah, but we'll see how it goes. Yeah, it's weird because we've taken a couple of weeks off. Yeah, and it's it's a little bit different having a Elevated Life: That's how we reach more people who are ready for change. You can also find everything at CJElevatedLife.com. All right, let's keep going. Clint - Mic: You'll get the weekly action steps and new tools we've tested ourselves. Let's get back to the episode. Clint: Are you? I feel okay. But we'll see how it goes. Yeah, it's weird because we've taken a couple weeks off. Yeah, and it's a little bit different having a conversation with the intent of it being recorded and other people listening versus just having a conversation. Oh, for sure. You know, the way you interact and stuff. So we'll see how it goes. We'll get our sea legs back as they say and... Johnna: ⁓ for sure. We'll see how it goes. We'll get our sea legs back as they say. And kind of ease into That means we have to articulate things, and we can't just leave a thought in the ether, because the other one already knows what we're going to say. have to complete our sentences. Yes. Yeah. So we'll see how that goes. Right? All right. So way back machine. Clint: Kind of ease into it. Yeah. Right, exactly. Yes. So we'll see how that goes. All right. So way back machine. Let's just jump into it. Okay, way back machine, I would say we could start with just, you know, we've been needing a change for quite some time. And just not... Johnna: Okay, way back machine, I would say we could start with just, you know, we've been needing a change for quite some time. And just not feeling like I'm just going to speak for myself and you can jump in. This was that area, the location that I would be in forever. Like I've known that since I landed here, but Clint: feeling like I'm just going to speak for myself and you can jump in. Sure. but this was the area, the location that Johnna: recently in the last year, it's been more and more obvious that it was just time for me to move along. Right. And so we've been diligently for at least a year trying to figure out where that place actually is. Where and what and. Clint: Where and what and you know, like all of the above figuring out everything I think for me And I definitely wouldn't have said this at the time, but just doing some reflection, I think it probably really started to take hold ⁓ when we did 75 Hard. So that would have been the beginning of last year. here's... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So we're talking, you know, a year and a half ago because we did it. We started January 1st of 2025 and... Johnna: 75 art. Oh, would have been the beginning of last year. And here's at the beginning of last year. Yeah, I feel like that was 10 years ago. Yeah. So we're talking a year and a half ago. Yeah. Clint: You know, when I, because I have family here for generations, and Johnna does not. And when I moved back this last time, 15, 20 years ago, whatever it was, I kinda did feel like this was gonna be, you know, this was gonna be where I was. And I think... And not the fact that what we actually did with 75 hard, but that really is a moment in my mind where my mindset really started to shift because it was in conjunction with doing a lot of inner work, know, a lot of healing our central nervous system, a lot of intense stuff in 2025. Johnna: Right. Yeah, 2025 was a fire hose of awakening on every single level. Clint: And you know if you go back and listen to some of the old podcasts you're gonna see we were pretty open About what was going on? ⁓ so we don't need to rehash all of that, but One of the things that came out of that was that feeling of okay? Whatever we're doing right now isn't what we're supposed to be doing. we, and obviously jump in and correct me if I get any of these memories wrong or anything, but for a while we both had that feeling and we communicated that feeling, but we weren't quite sure what it looked like as far as at that point it wasn't dead set on leaving. It was still, we have to do something, but what is that? And it very well could be leaving, Johnna: isn't what we're supposed to be doing. we, and obviously jump in and correct. Right. Yeah. Right. ⁓ Right. Yeah. Clint: it very well could be ⁓ the one thing that we've been pretty consistent on is we wanted to get out of exactly where we are right now this house this land and and just get to something new but you know do we double down on the the gym we have in town and this community and you know work through that or is it isn't moving off somewhere else ⁓ Johnna: Right. So we spent the year doing a lot of traveling ⁓ and, you know, to the west side of the state, to ⁓ Oregon, to maybe it's Idaho, like all these things. Clint: to Oregon to maybe it's Idaho, like all these things. That was, you we took our trip to the Redwoods in August. And so it was, you know, maybe it's, we saw some cool places along the Southern Oregon coast and then the Northern California coast. Yeah. mean, everywhere we went was, this is an option. Johnna: Yeah. Yeah. And so it was, you know, maybe it's we saw some cool places along the Southern Oregon coast and then the Northern California coast. Yeah. I mean, everywhere we went was this is an option. And also when we went to North Carolina, right. And so it was just like this constant, OK, where are we supposed to go? And every place we went, it was like, no, in Clint: Yeah. And so it was just like this constant, okay, where are we supposed to go? And every place we went, it was like, no. And it was basically just a intuition, feeling within, I will speak for myself, ⁓ within myself, being there, being on the land, how does it feel? Is this where I'm supposed to go? Asking those questions. Johnna: It was basically just a intuition, a feeling within, I will speak for myself, ⁓ within myself, you know, being there, being on the land. How does it feel? Is this where I'm supposed to go asking those questions and just getting no, no, no. And it became really exhausting. And I thought, am I just like ⁓ being discontent in Clint: and just getting no, no, no. And it became really exhausting. And I thought, am I just being discontent in my life, right? And then I look at my business, and I love it, and it's great, but there's no room for expansion here. There just isn't. We don't live in an area where people super-prioritize their health and wellness. That's just not something. And also, Johnna: my life, right? And then I, you know, I look at my business and I love it it's great, but there's no room for expansion here. There just isn't. We don't live in an area where people super prior prioritize their health and wellness. That's just not something. And also there isn't building space, right? There isn't building space to expand. And I have been Clint: There isn't building space. Right? Right. There isn't building space to expand. And I have been diligently seeking that out. Like since I opened elevated fitness, was like, OK, this is the beginning of where we're going to start. It's a small boutique gym. But I want to expand because I want a community of health minded, you know, elevating, trying to do better for the community. Johnna: diligently seeking that out. Like since I opened elevated fitness, it was like, okay, this is the beginning of where we're going to start because it's a small boutique gym. But I want to expand because I want a community of health minded, you know, elevating, trying to do better for the community. And it's just been like, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. So Clint: and it's just been like nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. that wasn't going anywhere. I'm trying to figure out that balance. Am I just being discontent or is this area showing me that I'm not actually supposed to Johnna: So that wasn't going anywhere and trying to figure out that balance. Am I just being discontent or is this area showing me that I'm not actually supposed to be here? And so we that kind of, you know, I don't know exact dates or anything, but it feels like. Clint: And so we, that kinda, you know, I don't know exact dates or anything, but it feels like that really solidified itself toward the end of last year of, okay, we're deprioritizing staying here and trying to make things work. Because it's just, mean, I would echo what John was just saying. Like it was one thing after another of. Johnna: Okay, we're deprioritizing staying here. Yeah. Clint: ⁓ here's an opportunity. Nope, it fell through. Here's an opportunity. Nope, it fell through. And it wasn't like we were pushing those things away. We were actively engaging in, hey, this might be a chance for the gym to expand because it's like, you know, we're not at a point where we could take over. you know, there's some old ⁓ Apple sorting warehouses, huge places that are available, but that would be huge. Johnna: Yeah. Hey, this might be a chance for for the gym to expand because it's like, you know, we're not at a point where we can take over. you know, there's some old ⁓ Apple sorting warehouses, huge, right? Places that are available. That would be huge. Well, you have to have the clientele. That's that's what I mean. Yeah. So, you know, we needed to stair step up and those things just kept falling through. So it was like, OK, you know, Clint: That's what I mean. Yeah, so, you we needed to stair step up and and those things just kept falling through so it was like, okay, you know, we need to focus more it feels like on Where do we go? Because this this The land here seems to be telling us it isn't here Johnna: We need to focus more, it feels like, on where do we go? Because the land here seems to be telling us it isn't here. 100 % and I have really tried to in meditation and prayer really go back and forth and and sort this out get to the root of what it is and the truth is is it's just it's a growth ceiling for me it's just like no this is only as far as you can go here and I want to expand Clint: get to the root of what it is. And the truth is, is it's just, it's a growth ceiling for me. It's just like, no, this is only as far as you can go here. And I want to expand. Johnna: the truth is is it's just it's a growth ceiling for me it's just like no this is only as far as you can go here and I want to expand Clint: the truth is, is it's just, it's a growth ceiling for me. It's just like, no, this is only as far as you can go here. And I want to expand. I'm really glad you brought that up because I was gonna say this just to make sure that we said this at some point it just came to my head the feeling wasn't We hate it here or this is so shitty or you know anything like that The feeling was really exactly what you were just talking about We've we've grown we've we've got the experiences and information everything that we needed to get from here and it was so valuable The growth that we had now it's time Johnna: No. Experiences and information everything that we needed to get from here. Yeah, it was so valuable ⁓ totally the growth that we had now it's time to now we're we're hitting the ceiling Yeah, it's time to move on and find that somewhere else. Yeah, so Clint: to now we're hitting the ceiling now it's time to move on and find that somewhere else so really the the first like more specific thought that we had about a place was Oregon somewhere didn't know exactly where but you know had a pretty good idea kind of the the northwest corner somewhere of Oregon and so we made a trip down there Johnna: like more specific thought that we had about a place was Oregon. Somewhere, didn't know exactly where, but you know, had a pretty good idea kind of. Yeah. of Oregon. And so we made a trip down there. I mean, we go down there lots of kids down there and everything, but we went down there and part of the purpose was, and I guess this was right around. Clint: I mean, we go down there a lot, you know, kids down there and everything, but we went down there and part of the purpose was, and I guess this was right around, well, it was Christmas that we went there. Johnna: Well, it was Christmas that we went there. Specifically to really get the final answer, because we'd been there several times. Yeah, yeah. But we wanted to intentionally. Clint: For that one Yeah, but we wanted to intentionally go to some spots where we thought maybe this is the spot and ⁓ We you know, this will be a theme throughout this podcast and it kind of already has been but Really just asking the land asking the earth asking the universe, you know, however you want to phrase it of Do, does our energy match this energy? Is this vibrationally aligned with who we are and where we wanna go? You know, not where we've been, but where we wanna go. And... Johnna: Does our energy match this energy? Is this vibrational? You know not not where we've been but where we want to go and ⁓ and it was fascinating because we had a great experience. ⁓ yeah I mean there was nothing negative that happened when we were when we were there But as we were driving away, we just kind of looked at each other and it was almost unspoken Clint: And it was fascinating because we had a great experience. I mean, there was nothing negative that happened when we were there. But as we were driving away, we just kind of looked at each other and it was almost unspoken. We ended up speaking, obviously, but it was like, no. Mm hmm. This is not the place that we're supposed to be. Johnna: No. Yeah, that's a hard no. And I can't even describe it. But it was like, literally get me out of here. Like, I can't. Yeah. So from there, you know, and like we said earlier, we had spent the entire year exploring other places. But then after that, you know, we're like, well, we're basically back at, you know, the drawing board. have no clue, which was really the theme with all the closed doors. You know, we'd come back from a trip or whatever and it's like, well, that's not it. So now we're at zero again. Clint: We had spent the entire year exploring other places, but then after that, you know, we're like, well, we're basically back at, you know, the drawing board. I have no clue. Which was really the theme with all the closed doors. You we come back from a... Johnna: And then it morphed into, maybe I'm not supposed to have roots anywhere. Maybe I'm a gypsy. And we thought, okay, how about like camper RV life? Because that sounds fun. And so you want to talk about that? Yeah. Just with the intention of let's, let's allow our place to find us and just Clint: Yeah, just with the intention of let's let's allow our place to find us And just really, you know, we're in a position where we would have the opportunity to be able to move around a lot. And basically because I work online, so that helps. But really with no intention, that was kind of our thought process of we might go to a place and stay there for a couple days. We might go to a place and stay there for a couple months. We might go to a place and be like, this is it. Maybe this was our first stop. Maybe this was our 50th stop. Who knows? But really being open and kind of just mapping out where we would want to be. And then, of course, watching a ton of YouTube videos. Johnna: there for a couple of months, we might go to a place and be like, this is it. Yeah. Maybe this was our first stop. Maybe this was our 50th stop. Who knows? But really being open and kind of just mapping out, you know, where we want to be. And then, of course, watching the YouTube. And, know, we did that for every potential move. Like we really turned over every rock. We went and visited. We did all the research. I mean, it was just at this point. Clint: Yeah Yes I'm so tired of pouring the energy into all of these places and just getting a no, no, no. And that's what we did with this as well. All the YouTube videos on people who live RV life. And then we ended up going. Johnna: It was becoming exhausting to me. I was like, am so tired of pouring the energy into all of these places and just getting a no, no, no. ⁓ And that's what we did with this as well. You know, all the YouTube videos on people who live RV life. And then we ended up going to look at RVs. Clint: Yeah, Johnna: Right. Which was a spectacular experience. ⁓ Yeah, it was fun. So much fun. We we looked at everything from. Clint: yeah, which was a spectacular experience, I mean so much fun We we looked at everything from like those little tiny ones that you can pull with a Geo Metro I don't even know if Geo Metro's are a thing anymore, but you know little tiny ones up to multi-million dollar, you know big diesel pusher like as big as a single white house and everything in between Yeah, we probably spent two hours Johnna: little tiny ones that you can pull with a Geo Metro. Yeah. Geo Metro thing anymore. You know, little tiny ones. Yeah. Up to multimillion dollar, you know, big diesel pusher like crazy single white house. Yeah, it was super fun. Yeah. Yeah, we probably spent two hours. ⁓ yeah. We were like kids just like, no, let's go into this one. Let's go into this one. We were because of. Clint: Just like, no, let's go into this one. Let's go into this one. Because of some other factors, we have a midsize pickup that we weren't going to get rid of. so, well, I shouldn't. So we either. Johnna: Yeah, so it had to fit that. we weren't gonna get rid of. And so, well, I should, so we either, as we moved away from the just, this is super fun, let's look at everything to, okay, what's the reality of this actually looking like? It was either, we're gonna get a small pole behind trailer, or something like a big RV that could potentially pull. Those were kind of our two. Clint: as we moved away from the just, is super fun, let's look at everything to, okay, what's the reality of this actually looking like? It was either, we're gonna get a small pole behind trailer, or something like a big RV that could potentially pull the pickup. Those were kind of our two options. So then we kind of went through everything and then had an idea of, okay, it's either gonna be like this group of things or this Johnna: So then we kind of went through everything and then had an idea of, okay, it's either gonna be like this group of things or this group of trailers, this group of RVs. So we kind of went back through and a little more fine tooth comb, a little more like, okay, this is gonna be our home. What does this actually look like? And you know, as with... Clint: this group of trailers, this group of RVs. So we kind of went back through and a little more fine tooth comb, a little more like, okay, this is gonna be our home. You know what what does this actually look like and and you know as with almost everything there's like well You know we're have to compromise here But this is pretty cool, and we like this and you know so we really like nitpick got down to details with them and had a great time and Left there and and on our way home because it was a few hours away It was very similar to when we left, Oregon Johnna: everything there's like well you know we're gonna have compromise here but this is pretty cool like this you know so we really like nitpick got down to details with yeah and had a great time and left there and on our way home it was very similar to when we left Oregon yeah it was just kind of like no yeah ⁓ Clint: It was just kinda like, no, this isn't it. ⁓ Johnna: And it was really disappointing because I just at that point was fucking exhausted. I was just like, ⁓ my gosh. Yeah. Like honestly, I just knew that current location was not it. And but no answers, you know, and mind you, I've been praying and meditating and searching and all the things for so long. And it just I remember that ride home just being like, Clint: Like maybe we're not supposed to live anywhere Deflated that's how I felt Johnna: Exhausting, know, just exhausting and frustrating. Yeah. That's I felt. Yeah. And but also grateful because, know, you don't want to do something you're not supposed to do, honestly. And because I have done that in the past, I just wasn't well, I'm not willing to do it again. I'm not because I don't want to. That's why. Clint: I don't want it. That's why. So anyway, we were driving home and we get kind of back in service because where we went was like three and a half hours away. And I am checking social media notifications. Johnna: So anyway, we were driving home and we get kind of back in service because where we went was like three and a four hours away. And I am checking ⁓ social media notifications because you guys know we're on social media. And the very first thing that pops up is a rental on Maui. And if you guys know, I used to live on Maui and I just had this like light bulb moment of. ⁓ my gosh. What? Fuck all this. Let's just move back to the islands. Like, you know, and I'm sure Clint was like, oh, my gosh. what? What? We were like 10 minutes out of this plan and now we're hopping in. mean, it's exhausting being with me with how my brain works. I know it. Yeah. Right. Because my just to interject a Clint: Let's just move back to the island. And I'm sure Clint was like, ⁓ my god. What? We were like 10 minutes out of this plan and now we're hopping in. I mean, it's exhausting being with me. That's how my brain works. I know it. Yeah, right. Because just to interject a little bit, ⁓ my thought was, OK, we've kind of gone to all these. grander I don't even know if that's a word but Plans that have all the doors have been shot and so in my mind, you know It was we were pretty quiet on the first part of that drive home Just kind of processing and everything and I'm thinking it's everything scaling back. You're like, okay Johnna: Very quiet. thinking it's everything scaling back. We're going to tough it out here and then it probably is just going to be, you know, let's find another place locally. Yeah. Cause it seems like it seems like at least we have something going here. Sure. That's my, cause you know, I'm, I mean, well documented. you listen to us, I'm more of logical side. Clint: We're gonna tough it out here and then it probably is just gonna be, you let's find another place locally because it seems like it seems like at least we have something going here. That's my because you know, I'm I mean well documented if you listen to us, I'm more the logical side and and John is the the everything else side. I am not gonna say that. Yeah, so. Johnna: Crazy, crazy. Just say it. Anyways, so I just said, how about this? And then I just feel like this is what happened in our brains. If you're watching on YouTube, it's just it's like almost like an instant DNA ⁓ infusion happened. And it was like, whoa, this is. Clint: Yeah, yeah ⁓ Johnna: this could potentially be a thing. Because if you're going to live in an RV, you know, you can move anywhere. Really. I mean, that's just once you've gotten to the point of letting go where you're just interested in having all your things in your small, small RV. ⁓ Clint: and your small RV. So anyway, we started talking about that and doing some research. And it was Maui because I lived on Maui for a decade. And so I started reaching out to some people that I know on Maui and asking them if it was OK, basically, for me to move back to the island. That may sound crazy to some of you. Johnna: So anyway, we've started talking about that and doing some research and it was Maui because ⁓ I lived on Maui for a decade and ⁓ so I started reaching out to some people that I know on Maui and asking them if you know, it was okay, basically. for me to move back to the island. That may sound crazy to some of you, but you don't know how the Hawaiian islands work. And so that's why I was doing that. And one of my friends that ⁓ still lives there. Clint: You don't know how the Hawaiian Islands work. And so that's why I was doing that. And one of my friends that still lives there is a very honest person, married to a local guy, and she was like, I think they'll be fine, And I thought for sure, I mean, she's gonna tell me the truth. welcome. Johnna: is very, very honest person married to a local guy. And she was like, I think it'll be fine, Jonah. And I thought for sure. mean, she's going to tell me the truth. Like, don't fucking come here. Don't. No, not welcome. No. And she was like, no, you know, you can come. And so. We started searching for Maui things that moved to potentially Oahu and Kauai was like way at the bottom of the list, not even kind of on the radar. ⁓ Clint: The one I would say that really was not on the list was the big island the active volcano thing was just like yeah Johnna: Yeah, well, because it's an active volcano. Yeah, so. So anyway, just in a lot of prayer and meditation, like I had this flashback to a conversation that I had with my dad right before he died. And he told me that the biggest mistake he ever made in his life was leaving the island because I was born in Island County in Washington state. And he just regrets he regretted so hard leaving the islands. And he said to me, ⁓ you should have never left the islands. You should have stayed there. And at the time, you know, it kind of went in one ear and out the other. But as I was in meditation and then I remembered, ⁓ my gosh, I've been dreaming about Maui for an entire year. mean, every morning I'd wake up with Clint. like, I don't know. I'm dreaming about Maui. Like, I don't know why, but it wasn't Maui in my dream. It was somewhere else. Clint: I don't know why, but it wasn't out. Johnna: And so as we were, you know, just kind of figuring out what this even looked like, I had yet another dream. Jonna was telling Jonna that it was Kauai. And this was really odd when I woke up because I'm like, why isn't even on the radar at all? Clint: And so as we were just kind of figuring out what this even looked like, I had yet another dream. And Jonna was telling Jonna that it was Kauai. And this was really odd when I woke up, because I'm like, Kauai isn't even on the radar at all. And so I woke up, and I'm like, this is what happened in my dream. Johnna: And so I woke up and I'm like, this is what happened in my dream and we need to plan a trip because you don't just move basically anywhere in my opinion without asking if you can move there. But you definitely don't move to the Hawaiian islands without asking if you can move there. And so we planned a trip. Yeah, I mean, this was. I think the. Clint: we need to plan a trip because you don't just move basically anywhere in my opinion without asking if you can move there ⁓ but you definitely don't move to the Hawaiian Islands. without asking if you can And so we planned a trip. Yeah, I mean, this was, I think the RV ⁓ timeframe was like February when we went and looked at RVs or late February, it doesn't matter. basically it was like, okay, how soon can we go? because let's just go and see. we were, and I'm sure we'll get into more details on this, but we were both very open to, you know what? We have to go with whatever the land tells us. And this, just like Oregon, just like the RV, just like North Carolina, this could be a no. But. Johnna: Yeah. And this just like Oregon, just like the RV, just like North Carolina. This could be a no. Yeah. And but at this point with the just fatigue of it, like we got to know right now we can't. And also, I don't fucking care. You know, when you get to the point, guys, when you're just like, I don't even care if it's not it. Fine. But I got to ask. And this might be the last hurrah. Yeah. So. Clint: at this point with the just fatigue of it like we gotta know right now we can't wait Yeah, yeah So so it ended up being what worked out good with our schedules was the end April We could go so we had like whatever six weeks seven weeks or something like that So in the meantime, you know, I don't I knew very little about the Hawaiian Islands Johnna: So it ended up being what worked out good with our schedules was the end of April. We could go. So we had like whatever, six weeks, seven weeks or something like that. So in the meantime, I knew very little about. Clint: I knew zero about kawaii. I don't I don't even know that I knew that it existed right so So we started doing the same thing that we always do doing research looking at YouTube reading doing all the things and Johnna: knew zero about Hawaii. I don't even know that I knew that it existed. So we started doing the same thing that we always do, doing research, looking at YouTube, reading, doing all the things and everything that we were seeing. We'd watch a YouTube or a few YouTubes and about all kinds of different stuff. People living there, people moving there, cost of living. Clint: everything that we were seeing. You we would watch a YouTube or a few YouTubes and you know about all kinds of different stuff. People living there, people moving there, cost of living, just experiences, not just like here's the top tourist things to do. We watched some of those just to get a feel for it, but also as much as we could, which there isn't a whole bunch, but of what is life like on Kauai? Johnna: Yeah, yeah, because it's not just a vacation an endless vacation and not only that but again You have to ask to go there ⁓ Clint: vacation yeah yeah ⁓ Johnna: And so this whole trip was about asking the land, you know, for me, I was like, this is my ask the land trip. And I'd explain that to people and they're like, that's crazy. And I was like, no, it's not. Had I asked this land if I could come here, probably would have said no. But I didn't. I was presumptuous and decided to come anyway. So I was just going to say real quick as we were watching. Clint: You know, No, it's not. Had I asked this land if I could come here, probably would have said no. But I didn't. was presumptuous. So I was just gonna say real quick, as we were watching those YouTubes, we'd get done with it and look at each other and like, is there, what do you think? Is there anything that concerns you or any red flags or anything? And it was consistently no. Understanding there are some compromises, it's not perfect. And we're just watching YouTubes at this point, so you can make anything look like anything on YouTube. Johnna: Yeah ⁓ Clint: But it was just like, these things, all the list of, think about this before you come to Hawaii, or move especially. ⁓ You know, it's like, no, we've thought about this. There's no initial red flags. But that was all just basically a precursor for me to get a feel for the islands in general. And then for both of us just to get kind of a feel for Kauai. Because you had never been to- Johnna: about this. is this there's no initial red flags but that was all just basically a precursor to for me to get a feel for the islands in general and then for both of us just to get kind of a feel for kawaii right and you'd never been to no i i had never been to kawaii and so this was all new for me and i you know Clint: I had never been to Kauai and so this was all new for me. Johnna: You need to be humble to go to the islands. That's just it. Whether you're a visitor or you're moving there as a transplant and you're always a transplant, you're never a local. so, you know, just going through that. ⁓ And then we went on our trip. Yeah. So we went into it with as best we could, you know. Clint: you need to be humble to go to the islands. That's just it. Whether you're a or you're moving there as a transplant and you're always a... So, you know, just going through that. And then we went on our trip. Yeah. So we went into it with as best we could, you know. We talk a lot about not having expectations and that kind of thing. And I think we did a pretty good job, but it's such a natural thing. You're gonna have some expectations. You're gonna have some excitement. This really felt like we'd been processing it for a couple months by the time we got on the airplane to go. And there had just been zero red flags or even any speed bumps or anything. Johnna: And there had just been zero red flags or even like any speed bumps or anything. Yeah. And, know, it was a really heavy trip now that I, you know, look back. It was. You know, because we're not going to like do the touristy things. We're going there to speak to the land and the land could be like, fuck off. Clint: We're going there to speak to the land and the land could be like fuck off. Yeah And I would just say as a quick aside If you don't really believe in that stuff, that's fine Johnna: And when Hawaii says fuck off, it's 10 times worse than when Oregon says fuck off. Like it just is because it's a very electrified space. That's just how it is. So anyway, go ahead. And I would just say as a quick aside. Clint: But talk to almost anyone that goes there, whether they're just going there on vacation, whether they believe in that stuff or not. Almost everybody that you talk to is like, the air felt different. When I got off the plane, and it's not just because it's warm and humid and whatever, talking to people that come from warm, humid climates get off the plane, still at the airport. And it's like, there's something different. Johnna: Yeah. It's an infused vibration in the air in everything not just in the air in everything so that's just you know what it is so Clint: the air in everything, not just in the air, in everything. So that's just what it is. Yeah, so we went into it with that same mindset and really thinking, okay, we don't wanna get caught up in the vacation side of it, because it was still, part of it was a vacation. We still wanted to just relax and enjoy ourselves and that kind of stuff. And so we don't wanna get caught up in the vacation mindset and really be open to. Johnna: in the vacation side because it was still part of it was a vacation right you know we still wanted to just relax and enjoy ourselves and so we don't want to get caught up in the vacation mindset and really be open to any way that the land was talking to us or the universe was talking Clint: to any way that the land was talking to us or the universe was talking to us and saying, hey, you know, okay, enjoy yourself, but make sure you get back on that plane and you know, maybe we'll see you again someday, maybe not. And so, thinking about everything from... Johnna: Yeah ⁓ Clint: you know, how the security line went getting on the plane or, you know, the rental car thing or, you know, so even not just like communing, literally out in nature, communing with the land, but just the other nuts and bolts, so to speak, of the trap. Johnna: literally out in nature communing with the land, but just just the other nuts and bolts. Oh, yeah. All the signs, right? Because the people are the expression of the land. So I was looking for, you know, any bad interactions with people. I was looking for does my rent a car get jacked or broken into? Do I trip on? Clint: So I was looking for any bad... Johnna: the beach or on a curb. Do we not find parking? Did I already say that? Just any of those things, right? Any interaction that was negative was going to be a sign to me that Clint: the beach or on a curb. Do we not find parking? I already say that? Just any of those things. Any interaction that was negative was going to be a sign to me that... Johnna: I wasn't supposed to be there. Is the weather going to be absolutely, you know, in the middle of a storm because they have storms there and it's just like, no, get out of here. Right. Am I going to get trashed by a wave and get my face pounded in the sand? That's the land saying exit stage. Right. Right. So I'm looking for all of these things all the time scanning just like, yeah. Yeah. Constantly. So. Clint: I wasn't supposed to be there. Is the weather gonna be absolutely in the middle of a storm because they have storms there and it's just like, no, get out of here, right? Am I going to get trashed by a wave and get my face pounded in the sand? That's the land saying exit stage right, right? So I'm looking for all of these things all the time, scanning, just like. Yeah, yeah constantly so ⁓ Flight over was as as good as a six plus hour flight can be Yeah, six hours over five little over five back Yeah, but it was it was a middle-of-the-day flight. We watched movies and zero turbulence I mean it couldn't have been any better Johnna: Was it six plus hours? Yeah, it was great. ⁓ Clint: get off the plane, walk out the, as with a lot of things in Hawaii, the baggage claim is, well even kind of halls are open, but you it's all open and yeah. And of course we're greeted with the famous Kauai chickens. There's a rooster standing right at baggage claim when we walk out there and it just, I understood what people talk about. Johnna: Yeah, everything's open air. Yeah. And of course, we're greeted with the famous kawaii chickens. Yeah, there's a rooster standing right at baggage claim. Yeah, walk out there. And, it just, I understood what people talk about. Yeah, it felt I mean, again, we're at a baggage claim in a parking lot. Yeah, we're at the airport. Yeah, just an airport. Yeah. But walked out and it was like, Oh my gosh. Clint: It felt, mean, again, we're at a baggage claim in a parking lot because we're at the airport. It's just an airport. You know, but walked out and it was like, ⁓ my gosh, this is, I don't have words for it. And I understand why other people don't have words for it. The feeling was incredible. ⁓ Johnna: This is I don't have words. And I understand why other people don't have words for it. Yeah. The feeling was incredible. Yeah. And I cried when we landed. It was super emotional and I had to pull myself together because it's like you can't just be this blubbering fool. But it was such a huge thing to be there. So fast forward. The trip went perfectly. Clint: Yeah ⁓ Johnna: every interaction, every experience, and we went all over, all over the island. And we just, there was never a bad experience. No, yeah, we even from, you we probably went to. Clint: We just, there was never a bad experience. No, yeah, we, even from, you we probably went to, I don't know, 10 beaches, let's say, anywhere from, just kind of our routine was we were staying at a place right by the beach, like, you know, one minute walk to the beach. 25 seconds. Depending on how slow you went. Yeah. Johnna: and anywhere from just kind of our route. If that was like 25 seconds, yeah Clint: So we'd go have coffee on the beach every morning and then go find a beach because that's important. That's something that we want to do. Yeah. For the morning and then afternoon was more just exploring, drive a lot of driving around, going to places. Yeah. do, and not tourist stuff. We want to interact with people. Yeah. Johnna: and then go find a beach because that's important. Or a place. For the morning. then afternoon was more just exploring. A lot of driving around. Going to stores. Yeah. And not tourist stuff. We're not there to do tourist stuff. We want to interact with people. Yeah. Yeah. And we wanted to get a feel for what life Clint: And and we wanted to get a feel for what life is like, you know going to the grocery store and this okay This is what we normally buy. Let's check things out Doing all those things and and so where I was gonna go with it is we would even end up The it feels like at least this time I mean, it's kind of all year round but our experience was the beaches started kind of getting more busy around like 930 ish 10 somewhere in there and you know, we'd get to Johnna: Yeah. And so where I was going to go with it is we would even end up the it feels like at least this time, I mean, it's kind of all year round, but our experience was the beaches started kind of getting more busy around like nine thirty ish. Yeah. And, we'd get to the place in the morning. Clint: ⁓ to the place in the morning usually like probably eight, 8.30. And so it was pretty open. But there were multiple times where just driving around during the middle of the day, was like, hey, let's go stop here. Because we just, we were driving by a place, like this looks cool, let's stop. And middle of the day, when it's more full, parking spots. Johnna: Yeah. And so it was, you know, it pretty open, but there were multiple times where just driving around during the middle of day was like, hey, let's let's go stop here. Yeah. Because we just we were driving by a place like this looks cool. middle of the day, when when it's more full parking spots. Yeah. All everywhere. Working spots close to. Yeah. Close to the beach or the place where we're going to. So even little things like that. Clint: always parking spots close to close to the beach or the place whatever we were going to so even little things like that it was just it was it was for me it was mind-blowing how smooth everything was Johnna: Yeah. And here's something super interesting. you know, Clint mentioned that every morning we would walk out and have coffee. And I started to notice a pattern about day two or three. I can't remember exactly, but we would kind of pick different ish spots to sit on the beach and have our coffee and watch the sunrise. And every morning I would look down. Clint: ⁓ started to notice a pattern about day two or three, can't remember exactly, but we would kind of pick different-ish spots to sit on the beach and have... And every morning I would look down and there would be either a rock or a piece of coral or something in the shape of a heart. Every single morning. And so of course I'm gonna take that as a sign. And so that was one of the major things. And then I wanted to go to the most west beach. Johnna: And there would be either a rock or a piece of coral or something in the shape of a heart every single morning. And so, of course, I'm going to take that as a sign. ⁓ And so that was one of the major things. And then ⁓ I wanted to go to the most West Beach to have my specific meditation, but it was closed. Clint: specific meditation but it was closed because they had a storm and that area was closed and now I've learned that that's very it's a very sacred space yeah I'm glad that it was closed. Guess what? Not going. I'm not going to sacred grounds unless I'm invited by a native. Yeah. That's just not gonna happen. So instead I had my Johnna: because they had a storm and that area was closed. And now I've learned that that's very, it's a very sacred space and I'm glad that it was closed. Cause guess what? Not going. I'm not going to sacred grounds unless I'm invited ⁓ by a native. Like that's just not going to happen. So instead I had my, my ⁓ meditation on my favorite beach. Clint: And just sorry to interrupt real quick, but this was like Dave ⁓ Johnna: which is a Nene Beach. And I was in meditation asking the land speaking to Kawhi and Kawhi is loud. Kawhi. It was like a clear conduit with Kawhi. just sorry to interrupt real quick, but this was like day five. we were we were deep into it. It's not like it was 10 minutes after we got off the because. Yeah. Clint: five. We were we were deep into it. It's not like it was 10 minutes after we got off the plane. So we had yeah. Right. Right. literally from Washington state when you're going to Hawaii, it's a different realm. That's just what it is. And so I wanted to get equilibrium. Johnna: I wanted to recalibrate, right? Because I just went through a portal, like the oceans, a portal, right? So literally from Washington state, when you're going to Hawaii, it's a different realm. That's just what it is. And so I wanted to get equilibrium ⁓ on the island before I actually went into that meditation and got a lot of downloads from the land in terms of what is happening there. and what my job is when I go there. ⁓ And as I'm meditating and getting this information from Kawhi and I'm coming out of my meditation, I reach over and grab something on the beach and bring it up to my face. And it's a heart in the shape of a or it's a leaf in the shape of a heart. And I just was like blown away. Clint: reach over and grab something on the beach and bring it up to my face and it's a heart in the shape of a leaf in the shape of And I just was like blown away. Blown away by the confirmation and like okay this is I think we've had our answer we're day five in but the trip's not over. Yeah. Johnna: blown away by the confirmation and like, okay, this is, I think we've had our answer. We're day five in, but the trip's not over. Like it is not over. So I am still scanning for any kind of don't do it, but I never happened. ⁓ Clint: So I am still scanning for any kind of don't do it. But it never happened. Never once. Everything, everything was smooth. I mean, yeah. And I was the same way. was like, I was trying to... ⁓ not go down this road, still just thinking, okay, what's it gonna be? know, where's what's gonna be an issue with the flight on the way home, you know, whatever, something and there just was nothing. It was the smoothest trip I've ever been on by far. I mean, you know, weird stuff always happens to me. Luggage gets lost, some issue with the hotel, you know, whatever. Johnna: Yeah. Yeah. mean, you know, weird stuff always happens to me. Luggage gets lost. Some issue with the hotel, you know, whatever stuff. And it just didn't. Yeah. Every interaction was lovely. we should thank you for saying that because I was going to say it wasn't just that there. It wasn't just I'm going to try to say this right. It wasn't just that there weren't any signs of we shouldn't go there were. Clint: stuff and it just didn't. And we should thank you for saying that because I was going to say it wasn't just that there it wasn't just I'm going to try to say this the right way it wasn't just that there weren't any signs of we shouldn't go. there were plenty of signs, I mean you mentioned the hearts, but plenty of signs that we should, that this is where we are supposed to be. Not just you're not welcome here, but you are welcome here. Which was kind of unexpected for me. Johnna: I mean, you mentioned the hearts, but plenty of signs that we should. Yeah. This is this is where we are supposed to be. Not just you're not welcome here. Sure. But you are welcome here. Right. Yeah. Which, you know, was kind of unexpected. I. Yeah, I totally agree. I didn't. I mean, at some point, I don't. Clint: Didn't I mean at some point I don't remember what day but it was it was you know pretty deep into you whatever again probably around the time of your meditation day and You asked me, you know, like how do I feel? You know and we did that a lot of course because we talked about that stuff a lot But it's just the best way I could put it is I feel like I'm home It just and and I can't explain it Johnna: Yeah. Yeah. Just and I can't explain it. Yeah. More than that. It's just I feel like I'm home. Yeah. And it was amazing. Yeah. So after all these years or forever of searching, searching, searching, have now landed on ⁓ we're moving to Kauai. That is what is happening for elevated life. And Clint: more than that. It's just I feel like I'm home. And it was amazing. Yes. Johnna: The house goes on the market. Like I think the day this podcast will air. Yeah, we came home and basically, know, and I thought, ⁓ my goodness, I'm going to have to leave this place and it's going to be a nightmare. And it just wasn't. I was like, I'm ready to go back to ten ask it and get shit done because I finally got an answer after searching for a year and a half of what is next. And so we came home and literally have been working our asses off to get everything ready for the house to go on the market and move away. Clint: And so we came home and literally have been working our asses off to get everything ready for the house to go on the market and move away. I've I think I can speak for you, but I will just speak for myself right now. I've still been intentional or having my eyes open to. Johnna: Right now I've still been Clint: two other two signs, I guess, you know of, okay, did I just get caught up in the moment? You know, I know I can, we can lay out all of these things like we just, we just did, but is it still just some fantasy, some dream and you know, I shouldn't really be doing it, whatever. And just as an example of ⁓ things still just indicating we're doing the exact thing that we need to be doing. We had Johnna: Sure, Yeah, but is it still just some fantasy some dream and you know, should yeah Clint: ⁓ the realtor and the photographer come out to take pictures to get the house listed. And so this was Thursday. ⁓ Wednesday all day was stormy, poured down rain, stormy, nasty, gross. They were coming Thursday morning. So they get here Thursday morning. Johnna: And so this was Thursday. ⁓ Wednesday all day was stormy, poured down rain, stormy, nasty, gross. They were coming Thursday morning. So they get here Thursday morning, little breeze, but mostly calm, sun's shining, it's beautiful. The photographer mentioned multiple times, the sun is perfect for these pictures. just, it couldn't be any better if we could design it. By that afternoon, Clint: little breeze but mostly calm, sun's shining, it's beautiful. The photographer mentioned multiple times the sun is perfect for these pictures. just, it couldn't be any better if we could design it. By that afternoon, it was stormy again. So, and it's been stormy, not stormy, but cloudy and blustery and, you know, not nice since then. So was like that window. Johnna: It was stormy again. Yeah. So, and it's been stormy, not stormy, but cloudy and blustery and know, not nice since then. So it was like that window. And that's just one of those things to me is like, yes, you are doing the right thing. Things, these things outside of your control just fall into place. And I know that might be irritating for some people to hear. Clint: And that's just one of those things to me is like, yes, you are doing the right thing. These things outside of your control just fall into place. And I know that might be irritating for some people to hear because it used to be irritating for me to hear. Exactly. And it was frustrating. Johnna: It used to be irritating for me to hear. Well, especially when you're in a phase where nothing's falling into place. And guess what? Did that all of last year? Yeah. Like, do you want to talk about? Yeah. Swimming upstream like insane. Yeah. The other thing is we've also been shown since we got home that this is definitely not the place for us. And that's been something that's been shown over and over. So, you know, Clint: The other thing is we've also been shown since we got home that this is definitely not the place for us. Yes. And that's been something that's been shown over and over. you know. So I would say universe, if you're listening, we get it. We're we're we're out of here. We don't need any more signs to. Or that's fine. Yeah, for sure. But anyway, that's the next step. And so. Johnna: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or keep them coming. I don't care because you just learn from them all. Right. ⁓ But anyway, that's the next step. And so we don't really have a timeline. ⁓ We know that it's towards the end of summer that we will be heading out. ⁓ But really, we're not forcing this. We're not being delusional about it. I'm trying to be super logical which is difficult for me because I live in La La Land. ⁓ Clint: And on the the converse side of that I'm very much trying to be open to not making strict plans or trying to figure out every detail before things happen because I've just been shown over the last couple years now that that's not the way. It's just. shit is meant to be, then it'll be. And if it's not, it's gonna show you. Yeah. Yeah, it just is. anyway, we wanted to just give you guys an insight into what's happening and why we were. Johnna: out every detail before things happen because I've just been shown over the last couple years now that that's not the way. ⁓ If shit is meant to be then it'll be and if it's not it's gonna show you. Yeah, it just is. anyway, we wanted to just give you guys an insight into what's happening and why we were offline last week and really offline, you know, for quite some time, not podcast, but you know, with social media, it's just been a lot of introspection and don't want a lot of the outside noise. I want to listen to myself and be honest with myself and know what I'm getting into because again, Clint: last week and really offline for quite some time. It's just been a lot of introspection and don't want a lot of the outside noise. I want to listen to myself and be honest with myself and know what I'm getting into because again, you don't just move to Hawaii. It's the worst possible thing that you could do. If it's something that you think you might want to do, you have to go ask. Johnna: you don't just move to Hawaii. It's the worst possible thing that you could do. If it's something that you think you might want to do, you have to go ask and you don't go to the heavily tourist areas and hang out there. You go where the people are actually living life and watch the interactions and watch how the land speaks to you. It's not something that you just because it'll reject you. It'll absolutely reject you. That's that's been my Clint: and you don't go to the heavily tourist areas and hang out there. You go where the people are actually living life and watch the interactions. it's not something that you just, because it'll reject you. It'll absolutely reject you. That's been my experience. That's been the experience of others. When I first moved to Maui, there were so many stories of people who would move to the island. Johnna: experience. That's been the experience of others when I first moved to Maui. There were so many stories of people who would move to the island and I would speak with them and nothing would go right. Absolutely nothing would go right and it was perplexing to me because I moved to Maui and everything fell into place. And the reason why I moved to Maui is I went there my senior year of high school on spring break. And I literally was like, this is where I'm supposed to live. The pole was like nothing I had ever experienced in my life and when I moved there everything fell into place but if you're not supposed to go there then it's going to reject you. It just is. Clint: it's going to reject you. It just is. And I would just reiterate a couple things really quick with that. You're not a person that everything just falls into place all the time. Because it feels like, everybody knows somebody's like their whole lives, everything. It's not that at all. Johnna: No. Everybody knows somebody's like, I don't know about it. Their whole lives, it's not that. No, most of time it hasn't. So when it does. Clint: And which leads, yeah, yeah, which leads me to my next point of, and we already kind of covered this, but just to keep in mind, as you're processing through this, if you're thinking about a change or just feeling like you want to change in your physical location, it kind of goes for everywhere. Hawaii's unique, but it isn't that unique in that you should go and experience anywhere that you want to go and Johnna: Oh, for sure. Yeah. not on vacation, taking these fancy helicopter rides and doing all this. Like, oh, this is amazing. But really being there, I cannot, and as somebody who didn't think that just a few years ago, I would have said that's all bullshit. Whatever, woo woo, bullshit. It's not. Clint: Exactly like what you're talking about experience what it means to be there not on vacation not you know taking these fancy Helicopter rides and doing all this like ⁓ this is amazing, but really being there I mean I cannot and as somebody who didn't think that just a few years ago I would have said that's all bullshit. You know I don't whatever whoo-hoo bullshit. It's not it's just not Johnna: No, it's just not. No. And you know, the truth is, is it's played out the other way, too. Like when we moved to Oregon, I knew in a week that was the dynamic that I thought I was moving into in terms of like support from family, because I had four kids on island, moved to the mainland for family support, knew that in the first week I had made the biggest fucking mistake of my life. Clint: It's played out the other way too. when we moved to Oregon, ⁓ I knew in a week that was the dynamic that I thought I was moving into in terms of like support from family because I had four kids on island, moved to the mainland for family support, knew that in the first week I had made the biggest fucking mistake of my life. And then moving to Washington state, again, biggest mistake of my life. Johnna: and then moving to Washington state again, biggest mistake of my life within the first week. And so I'm not interested in making those kinds of mistakes again. And, you know, as I was reflecting over my life, because I'm, you know, 49 now, so I can do that. ⁓ That move to Maui was just like a bright Clint: And so I'm not interested in making those kinds of mistakes again. And you know, as I was reflecting over my life because I'm... to Maui was just like a bright ⁓ my goodness like this is what it's to feel like when you're moving somewhere that you are supposed to be it's supposed to be like this not a nightmare so anyway Johnna: Oh my goodness. Like this is what it's supposed to feel like when you're moving somewhere that you are supposed to be. It's supposed to be like this, not a nightmare. So anyway, there you go. Yeah. On that, I mean, we're going to have lots of stuff to talk about in this journey. we're still going to talk about other things too on this podcast, deeper philosophical things. Clint: So more to come on that. I mean, we're going to have lots of stuff to talk about in this journey. we're still going to talk about other things too on this podcast. Deeper philosophical things and fitness stuff. Johnna: and fitness. Maybe I'm so tired of talking about fitness. I was telling Clint like if you haven't figured it out, I don't know what to tell you. But it's not it's not all going to be our move on our trip, but it's going to be part of it. How that interact or how that interplays with other things that we. Clint: But it's not it's not all gonna be our move in our trip But it is gonna be part of it and how that interact or how that interplays with other things that we talk about all the time Johnna: And how we're going to grow because when we move to the island we're the lowest on the totem pole the at the very bottom and so the growth opportunity is going to be insane it is going to potentially put 2025 Like it was a cakewalk. Yeah, we'll see. Yeah, we will see. Interesting podcast. Yes, for sure. All right. Thank you so much for listening, guys. We'll talk to you soon. Clint: Yeah, we'll see be some interesting podcast if that's case We'll talk to you soon
