- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:01Speaker 2: My name is Satasha Nabananga Bamblet. I'm a proud or
- 0:04Speaker 2: the Order Kerni Whaltbury and a waddery woman. And before
- 0:08Speaker 2: we get started on She's on the Money podcast, I
- 0:11Speaker 2: would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land
- 0:14Speaker 2: of which this podcast is recorded on a wondery country,
- 0:18Speaker 2: acknowledging the elders, the ancestors and the next generation coming
- 0:22Speaker 2: through as this podcast is about connecting, empowering, knowledge sharing
- 0:27Speaker 2: and the storytelling of you to make a difference for
- 0:30Speaker 2: today and lasting impact for tomorrow.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Let's get into it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: She's on the Money. She's on the Money.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to She's on the Money podcast that
- 1:00Speaker 1: lets you be pervy about other people's money habits for
- 1:03Speaker 1: educational purposes, of course. Welcome back to another one of
- 1:06Speaker 1: our Money Diary's episodes where I get the absolute privilege
- 1:10Speaker 1: of sitting down with one of our She's on the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Money community members and asking them a million questions about
- 1:14Speaker 1: their money story. Let's jump straight into it, because this
- 1:17Speaker 1: week I got a message and it sounded exactly like this.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Hi Victoria and She's on the Money. I grew up
- 1:24Speaker 1: Paul with the dad who could never hold down a job.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I wasn't taught anything about money and went into debt
- 1:30Speaker 1: as soon as I turned eighteen. Later, I was left
- 1:33Speaker 1: with twenty thousand dollars worth of debt from my ex
- 1:36Speaker 1: on top of my own. I buried my head in
- 1:39Speaker 1: the sand until last year when I turned thirty and
- 1:42Speaker 1: I decided to get my finances sorted. That's when I
- 1:45Speaker 1: found she's on the money using zero based budgeting. I
- 1:48Speaker 1: smashed my debt in two and a half years, and
- 1:51Speaker 1: my now husband and I are saving for a house.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Learning about money changed my life, and now I get
- 1:58Speaker 1: to be the money teacher for my kids, kids that
- 2:00Speaker 1: I never had money dirist, I'm so excited about this.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I love that you're like, I've gone from literally being
- 2:06Speaker 1: in debt and having an X that got mean even
- 2:09Speaker 1: further debt to being literally like an icon for your
- 2:13Speaker 1: kids teaching them about money. And ah, it's just so
- 2:16Speaker 1: exciting that people can change their story totally.
- 2:19Speaker 4: I get that was so exciting listening to you.
- 2:21Speaker 5: To read that back yeah, because I mean, like me
- 2:25Speaker 5: telling it, yeah, it's okay, but then having you read
- 2:28Speaker 5: it back to me, I was like, WHOA, that's.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Right, and I won't say I argue, but it's why
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm always like to people tell me about your money
- 2:35Speaker 1: like grade, and then you go through their whole story
- 2:38Speaker 1: and you're like, girlfriend, like, that does not feel right.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Like it feels like you are probably being a little
- 2:43Speaker 1: bit self critical. But aren't women always self critical of themselves?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Totally we need to be better at that. All right,
- 2:49Speaker 1: let's jump into it, because I can't wait to ask
- 2:51Speaker 1: you a million questions, money durist, what grade would you
- 2:53Speaker 1: give your money habits if I asked you to give
- 2:55Speaker 1: them a grade from A through to F.
- 2:57Speaker 4: I'm going to go with B B.
- 2:59Speaker 1: All right, you tell me a little bit more about
- 3:02Speaker 1: your money story.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Yes, So, growing up, my first money memory was I
- 3:07Speaker 5: was probably about three, and I remember waking up on
- 3:11Speaker 5: Christmas morning and opening these presents and it was this
- 3:13Speaker 5: really amazing fairy wings and tiara.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And a wand oh that's really sweet, it was.
- 3:18Speaker 5: And it wasn't until a couple of years ago I
- 3:21Speaker 5: actually found out that my mom had made those because
- 3:24Speaker 5: we had no money because my dad couldn't keep down
- 3:26Speaker 5: the job.
- 3:26Speaker 6: And so this said, that's so wholesome, Oh it.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Is, honestly, And I was just my mum's such a legend.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I just think back in like she just made something
- 3:34Speaker 4: out of nothing for us.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You didn't even know the difference.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I had no idea. I had no idea. I just
- 3:40Speaker 5: thought it was the coolest thing ever. And growing up,
- 3:42Speaker 5: so my mum was a stay at her mum from
- 3:44Speaker 5: when she had me. I've got three younger siblings, and
- 3:47Speaker 5: so money was always tight. And my dad is the
- 3:50Speaker 5: kind of person that would walk into a job think
- 3:53Speaker 5: that he could do.
- 3:53Speaker 4: It better than the boss. It would then all blow
- 3:55Speaker 4: up and then he would leave within six months.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oh good, that's a very positive attitude to have.
- 4:01Speaker 4: So I'm positive.
- 4:02Speaker 5: And so we were never taught financial literacy or anything
- 4:05Speaker 5: like that, So I grew up with a huge scarcity mindset.
- 4:09Speaker 5: So I was always under the assumption that whenever money
- 4:13Speaker 5: came in, it would just leave. And so I got
- 4:16Speaker 5: a job as soon as I turned fourteen. I got
- 4:18Speaker 5: my first job and I started working, and every single
- 4:20Speaker 5: dollar that I made I spent. I had no money
- 4:22Speaker 5: and I could never work out why I had no money.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But like you don't know what you don't know, right,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Like if no one sat you down and said money
- 4:29Speaker 1: dirist you actually need to put some of this aside.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You'll be like, well, why would I do that. I've
- 4:33Speaker 1: never had my own money and I deserve xyzet. Like
- 4:36Speaker 1: we're so tuned into what historically we've been taught and
- 4:41Speaker 1: like that's not a bad thing, it's just the way
- 4:43Speaker 1: it is, right like, and I feel like we crucify
- 4:47Speaker 1: ourselves so often, and like we're often like, oh my god,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I was so dumb or I'm so silly and I
- 4:51Speaker 1: have no money, like this must be a reflection of
- 4:53Speaker 1: me personally, and it's like, well, no one's actually ever
- 4:56Speaker 1: sat you down and been like, hey, money diarist, you
- 4:58Speaker 1: need to do this with your money, and this is
- 5:00Speaker 1: what cash flow looks like and this is why you
- 5:02Speaker 1: should care about budgeting. But you did go to school
- 5:05Speaker 1: and they taught you trigonometry, so that's been really positive.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Totally, And I'm sure I still use that now.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I cannot give an example right now of how I
- 5:15Speaker 1: use that, and I literally work in finance, but okay either.
- 5:20Speaker 5: And then yes, I had my first job at fourteen,
- 5:23Speaker 5: spent on my money, and then I got to eighteen
- 5:25Speaker 5: and I was approved for a credit card and.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Worst obviously Hindsight's twenty twenty.
- 5:31Speaker 5: But I wish that had never happened, because then I
- 5:34Speaker 5: ended up in all this credit card debt because obviously
- 5:36Speaker 5: no financial literacy plus a credit card does not eat
- 5:39Speaker 5: more good time.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I mean it did at the time, though I can
- 5:42Speaker 1: almost guarantee that you had leg Let's be honest here,
- 5:44Speaker 1: like we didn't get into debt, and it was a
- 5:46Speaker 1: bad time getting into the debt. Often it's a fun ride.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Oh it was great. It was great free money, right, yeah, totally.
- 5:54Speaker 5: And I met my ex partner and he was really
- 5:58Speaker 5: good with money, and he would save and.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Save, and he taught me a couple of things.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I'll give him that, But then he was quite emotionally
- 6:07Speaker 5: abusive and verbally abusive, and so I just hit a
- 6:10Speaker 5: point where I was like, I need to get out
- 6:11Speaker 5: of this.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Just about six months prior.
- 6:14Speaker 5: To that, we had bought a new car and we
- 6:17Speaker 5: did it in my name because at the time I
- 6:19Speaker 5: worked for an insurance company and I got half price
- 6:22Speaker 5: insurance if it was in my name. So we did that,
- 6:24Speaker 5: and then when we broke up, it was just so
- 6:27Speaker 5: much easier on my mental health if I just I'm
- 6:30Speaker 5: going to sign the Regiro papers.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Just take it. I don't even care anymore. I just
- 6:33Speaker 4: need to get out, isn't it wild?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Like I totally respect that, And so many people who
- 6:37Speaker 1: haven't been in that situation might just be like, that's
- 6:40Speaker 1: so silly, why would you do that? And you're just like,
- 6:43Speaker 1: I don't think you understand the mental strain that I'm
- 6:45Speaker 1: under and the fact that literally being in significant debt
- 6:49Speaker 1: financially is much better, and I'm very happy with that completely.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I just to give you some context.
- 6:54Speaker 5: So I have always been maybe a size twelve to fourteen.
- 6:59Speaker 5: In that relationship, I was under that much mental anxiety
- 7:02Speaker 5: and anguish that I dropped down to a size eight.
- 7:05Speaker 1: My goodness, but if that's not where your body sits naturally,
- 7:08Speaker 1: like you would have looked sick. Yeah, you would have
- 7:11Speaker 1: been not well.
- 7:12Speaker 5: It was so awful, and the relief I felt even
- 7:15Speaker 5: just signing those red Rock papers over, even though I
- 7:18Speaker 5: was in a huge amount of.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Debt, now it was so worth it. It was worth every dollar.
- 7:22Speaker 4: And then we had a joint account which we split
- 7:25Speaker 4: down the middle when we.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Split up, And so then I booked a return ticket
- 7:29Speaker 5: to the UK and I did a top deck tour
- 7:32Speaker 5: over there and I lived my best life and it
- 7:35Speaker 5: was great, but it actually put me into a little
- 7:36Speaker 5: bit more debt, which I don't regret at all, because
- 7:39Speaker 5: I had the absolute time of my life. And then
- 7:42Speaker 5: I came back and I got together with my now husband.
- 7:45Speaker 5: We'd worked together for a couple of years by that point,
- 7:47Speaker 5: but I had changed offices, so we weren't working directly together.
- 7:50Speaker 5: And then we found out quite soon after we got
- 7:53Speaker 5: together that I was going to have my daughter. That's
- 7:56Speaker 5: so exciting, it was, it was, and so I was
- 7:59Speaker 5: still money mess. I had her a couple of years ago,
- 8:03Speaker 5: and then I had my son during the big lockdown
- 8:06Speaker 5: that Sydney had in COVID, and I was still a
- 8:08Speaker 5: money mess at that point. And I remember thinking after
- 8:10Speaker 5: I had him, staring at him in the hospital, thinking
- 8:13Speaker 5: I just can't do this. I can't this tiny little face.
- 8:17Speaker 5: I can't have them go through the same childhood that
- 8:21Speaker 5: I had where we couldn't afford things and all that
- 8:22Speaker 5: sort of stuff.
- 8:23Speaker 1: That's really sad, but also like so embowering, Like yeah, totally.
- 8:28Speaker 5: So that was twenty twenty one, and so I like
- 8:31Speaker 5: had sort of started thinking about it, and then last
- 8:34Speaker 5: year I found the broke generations.
- 8:37Speaker 4: I fent Emma and then.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah, she's gorge isn't she.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Oh she's so beautiful.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And she's just so relatable, like you just go yes, queen.
- 8:44Speaker 4: She's so relatable.
- 8:45Speaker 5: And then through Emma, I actually found she's on the
- 8:47Speaker 5: money and yourself. And then I binged from August last
- 8:53Speaker 5: year up until maybe three ways ago.
- 8:55Speaker 4: I binged the whole entire She's on the money.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Oh, Like, I'm so proud of you, because that's like
- 9:01Speaker 1: if I take a step back, that's like such an
- 9:03Speaker 1: epic step towards like creating financial freedom. But my lord,
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's like seven hundred episodes of my voice. I'm so sorry.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Don't apologize.
- 9:13Speaker 5: You absolutely changed my life. I listened to it one
- 9:14Speaker 5: and a half speed. I will throw that out there.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Oh.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I listened to all podcasts on two time speed like
- 9:20Speaker 1: everyone in my head. Yap's real quick too.
- 9:24Speaker 4: And then I read your book.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Oh cool, Yeah, our local library had it as an ebook.
- 9:29Speaker 4: So I smashed that down.
- 9:31Speaker 5: And then I sat down and I created with help
- 9:34Speaker 5: of some YouTube videos, I created a avalanche spreadsheet tracker
- 9:39Speaker 5: to smash it on my debt, and so between i'd
- 9:42Speaker 5: already started paying. I think I'd paid off about half
- 9:44Speaker 5: of it by this point, but then I sat down
- 9:47Speaker 5: in August, and between August and September, so beginning of August,
- 9:51Speaker 5: at the end of September, I had paid off nearly
- 9:55Speaker 5: all of it.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I think I had maybe three thousand dollars left.
- 9:58Speaker 5: And then I actually I came into some money unexpectedly
- 10:02Speaker 5: in the beginning of October, and I paid off the
- 10:05Speaker 5: rest of that debt.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And so ah, but like even your money mindset, right, So,
- 10:10Speaker 1: like you said, I came into some money unexpectedly. Like
- 10:13Speaker 1: I'm just going to make some assumptions. We don't know
- 10:15Speaker 1: each other well yet, but I'm assuming that historical you
- 10:19Speaker 1: would have just spent that money, not paid off the debt.
- 10:21Speaker 1: And the fact that you came into some unexpected money
- 10:24Speaker 1: and was like, okay, cool, that's going to pay off
- 10:26Speaker 1: my debt. Like that's such a mindset shift. Like and
- 10:29Speaker 1: I don't think that when we start making decisions like
- 10:32Speaker 1: that we get enough credit, because like that's not just
- 10:35Speaker 1: like a you know, a fluffy mindset shift, Like that's
- 10:37Speaker 1: a whole attitude shift and are like my values have
- 10:40Speaker 1: changed shift, Like that is cool. Yeah, it was a
- 10:44Speaker 1: complete one eighty and I remember thinking at the time
- 10:48Speaker 1: when I made that final payment, I logged on a
- 10:50Speaker 1: Saturday morning to see that it had been clear. I
- 10:53Speaker 1: remember thinking, now, I I had just feels when she
- 10:57Speaker 1: was talking about on the podcast when she paid off
- 10:59Speaker 1: her deay and there was no celebration and it was
- 11:01Speaker 1: so anticlimactic. Literally, someone in my DMS recently messaged me
- 11:06Speaker 1: and they said, Hey, the I just want to say
- 11:08Speaker 1: I've paid off all my debt and obviously, like everyone
- 11:10Speaker 1: please message me when you do that, I get so excited.
- 11:13Speaker 1: She's like, but I expected someone to jump out of
- 11:15Speaker 1: like a copboard with a bottle of champagne, Like where
- 11:17Speaker 1: was the champagne? Where were the balloons? Like it felt
- 11:21Speaker 1: really anticlimactic, which is why I'm always like, God, friend,
- 11:24Speaker 1: you have to celebrate yourself, Like, and I know that
- 11:26Speaker 1: maybe you are trying to save and whatnot, but like,
- 11:29Speaker 1: maybe do go out for dinner finally, or maybe do
- 11:32Speaker 1: like treat yourself to something that you've really really wanted,
- 11:35Speaker 1: because you need to kind of like celebrate the journey
- 11:38Speaker 1: and celebrate the winds because like no one else is
- 11:41Speaker 1: going to do that for you. Like, and I think
- 11:43Speaker 1: that's what we've always expected historically, someone else is going
- 11:46Speaker 1: to do it, someone else will clean it up, Like no, no,
- 11:49Speaker 1: you were the one that has to have your own back,
- 11:51Speaker 1: which also means celebrating you totally.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Yeah, my celebration actually came not long after that, so
- 11:56Speaker 5: we took a family holiday up to the Gold Coast
- 12:00Speaker 5: with the kids for my birthday and yeah, so cute.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 5: I remember walking through SeaWorld and we went into the
- 12:06Speaker 5: Nickelodeon shop and I was standing in line and the
- 12:08Speaker 5: lady in front of me got her phone up to
- 12:10Speaker 5: pay and she paid with after pay at the counter,
- 12:13Speaker 5: and I remember just having this It was like someone
- 12:15Speaker 5: had thrown water in my face. I just had this
- 12:17Speaker 5: realization like, oh my god, that was me not long ago,
- 12:19Speaker 5: and I don't have to do that anymore. We have
- 12:22Speaker 5: cash to spend on this holiday. We're not going into
- 12:24Speaker 5: debt for it. And I just like I started tearing up.
- 12:26Speaker 5: And I'm not a big crier, but I was like,
- 12:28Speaker 5: oh my god, I did it.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I did it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You did do it. That's making me like a little bit,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I don't know, like I hate the fact that we
- 12:38Speaker 1: can't just scoop people up like I'm such a and
- 12:41Speaker 1: maybe that's me with my like really frustrating like savior complex,
- 12:44Speaker 1: like I just want to scoop people up and be like, hey,
- 12:46Speaker 1: I saw you using after pain and I was just wondering,
- 12:49Speaker 1: like is there anything I can do? And like that's inappropriate,
- 12:52Speaker 1: Like don't do that. You know, in that moment, you
- 12:55Speaker 1: were probably like holy moly, like I have changed everything
- 12:59Speaker 1: about me, Like I'm not who I used to be,
- 13:02Speaker 1: and like my kids aren't going to grow up with
- 13:03Speaker 1: the same experiences. Like don't get me wrong, when you
- 13:06Speaker 1: were explaining that your mom had made you fairy wings
- 13:09Speaker 1: and that you didn't know the difference, like that is
- 13:11Speaker 1: the sweetest thing ever, Like, don't get me wrong. Some
- 13:14Speaker 1: of my favorite memories as a child are the things
- 13:16Speaker 1: that my mum made me or did for me. And
- 13:19Speaker 1: that's something that now as an adult and a mom,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I have been trying to give those experiences to Harvey,
- 13:25Speaker 1: Like I want to make his Santa Sack and I
- 13:28Speaker 1: want to do all of those things because I think
- 13:30Speaker 1: that those are like those core, wholesome memories that just
- 13:34Speaker 1: show how much you're loved, right, Like at the end
- 13:37Speaker 1: of the day, you in that moment wasn't about the
- 13:40Speaker 1: fairy wings. You just felt so seen by your mom.
- 13:43Speaker 1: She got you a gift that she knew that baby
- 13:45Speaker 1: money Darist was going to be so excited about, and
- 13:48Speaker 1: you just felt so loved, And like, I think that
- 13:50Speaker 1: that's I'm just so glad that even though you grew
- 13:53Speaker 1: up with those experiences where you didn't feel like your
- 13:56Speaker 1: dad was teaching you a lot about money and like
- 13:59Speaker 1: you know, he couldn't hold down a job and alls,
- 14:00Speaker 1: that you still had that love along the way. And
- 14:02Speaker 1: I think that that's so beautiful because I think so
- 14:05Speaker 1: many moms and parents listen to this podcast and like,
- 14:07Speaker 1: oh my god, like I just don't have enough to
- 14:09Speaker 1: give my kids what they want. And ultimately it's actually
- 14:12Speaker 1: not about the stuff. It's about the feeling, Like how
- 14:15Speaker 1: do you give them that feeling? And yet it might
- 14:17Speaker 1: take some more time, don't get me wrong, but like
- 14:20Speaker 1: you can still give them most beautiful core memories without
- 14:23Speaker 1: spending hundreds of dollars.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Totally agree.
- 14:26Speaker 5: I completely agree, And I look at them now and
- 14:28Speaker 5: because my husband and I work full time, so we
- 14:32Speaker 5: are away from them quite a bit, so they go
- 14:35Speaker 5: to daycare before and after school. Kit and I know,
- 14:38Speaker 5: like seeing their faces when they get a new toy
- 14:40Speaker 5: versus seeing their faces when we sit down and play
- 14:44Speaker 5: with them and actually spend time with them. It's just
- 14:47Speaker 5: absolutely priceless. And I know a lot of people say that,
- 14:50Speaker 5: but it really is. Like the time you give them
- 14:53Speaker 5: is so incomparable to like buying them things.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It's just yeah, Oh, I love this. I love this
- 14:59Speaker 1: so much. It sounds like you've changed your entire story.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Now tell me a bit more. You said, my husband
- 15:05Speaker 1: and I work full time. What do you do for work?
- 15:07Speaker 1: And how much money do you want?
- 15:08Speaker 4: So I'm a revenue operations specialist.
- 15:12Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 15:13Speaker 5: So I work under our sails manager, and so I
- 15:16Speaker 5: do all.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Of the forecasting and contracts and numbers for her.
- 15:20Speaker 5: So I work with numbers, not directly in the finance space,
- 15:24Speaker 5: but I pulled together costing and all that sort of stuff.
- 15:27Speaker 1: That's very cool.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I absolutely love it.
- 15:29Speaker 5: But the more that I've gone into this personal finance journey,
- 15:32Speaker 5: I've thought maybe I should have gotten into finance instead,
- 15:35Speaker 5: because I am obsessed with spreadsheets.
- 15:37Speaker 4: I've learned in the last six months.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I love spreadsheet me too.
- 15:41Speaker 5: You'll approciate this from Valentine's Day, I got my husband
- 15:44Speaker 5: a card and had an Excel spreadsheet on the front
- 15:46Speaker 5: that said freak in the Sheets, because he's.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Obsessed with them too.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I love that. I actually have a coffee mug that
- 15:50Speaker 1: says freaking the ship.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Sometimes I give it to my dad when he's over
- 15:56Speaker 1: for coffee and tea, and I just think it's funny,
- 15:59Speaker 1: so funny.
- 16:00Speaker 5: And I earn one hundred and twenty five thousand a
- 16:01Speaker 5: year plus sooper, Oh.
- 16:02Speaker 1: My god, that's such a good income. And you're like
- 16:06Speaker 1: a baby, not a baby, but like you're in your
- 16:08Speaker 1: early thirties, right, yeah, I am.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Can I tell you something else that makes me extra
- 16:12Speaker 4: proud of that?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Please do?
- 16:13Speaker 4: I never went to UNI.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I've worked my way up and I got a Diploma
- 16:19Speaker 5: of Business last year while juggling full time work, my
- 16:22Speaker 5: husband and my two kids.
- 16:23Speaker 1: No you didn't, I did.
- 16:25Speaker 4: I did it.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Honestly seeing that number on my paycheck everyport and I'm like, hell,
- 16:29Speaker 5: yeah I did that.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Yeah you did, queen, Like that is so much money,
- 16:33Speaker 1: Like that is life changing. And don't get me wrong,
- 16:36Speaker 1: lots of people are going to listen to this and
- 16:37Speaker 1: be like, no, it's not all people are going to
- 16:39Speaker 1: be like, oh my god, that's like double what I earn,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and like we're all in different spaces and on different journeys.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And I think that's one of my favorite things about
- 16:46Speaker 1: money diaries is that we can just share this and
- 16:49Speaker 1: be like, oh, this is what I'm doing, because like,
- 16:52Speaker 1: I hope that someone listens to this and goes, oh
- 16:54Speaker 1: my god, what do you mean she didn't go to UNI?
- 16:56Speaker 1: What do you mean? So tell me how did you
- 16:58Speaker 1: get into that role? Obviously you worked your way up,
- 17:01Speaker 1: but like you said, you did a diploma, Like did
- 17:04Speaker 1: you have to get the diploma to now earn this
- 17:06Speaker 1: amount or like what was that journey looking like?
- 17:08Speaker 5: Yeah, So I worked for a car rental company when
- 17:11Speaker 5: I was early twenties. I got made Redana from them.
- 17:14Speaker 5: I then moved to the insurance company and I worked
- 17:18Speaker 5: for them. I was actually being underpaid, I found out
- 17:21Speaker 5: at the car rental company. Rude, yeah, yeah, I was
- 17:24Speaker 5: on forty five K and I was managing two people.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Excuse me, that's not management rates.
- 17:30Speaker 5: No, it wasn't, And it was absolute insanity. And then
- 17:32Speaker 5: I moved over to the insurance company and I started
- 17:37Speaker 5: as a team assistant and they almost doubled my salary again.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that would have been so exciting. You would
- 17:44Speaker 1: have been like, I don't know what to do with myself,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and was less.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Work and more money issues. That's always a.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Good combine, honestly, I'll take it.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 5: And then I was there for my seven years. My
- 17:54Speaker 5: salary didn't go up much when I was there, but
- 17:57Speaker 5: that was fine. I worked with really good people, had
- 17:59Speaker 5: some really good managers, so it's completely fine.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I then got made redundant from there. So before thirty
- 18:04Speaker 4: i'd been redundant twice.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Oh did you get a good payout?
- 18:07Speaker 4: I did for that one.
- 18:07Speaker 5: I did because almost seven years it was and because
- 18:10Speaker 5: it was under the tax thresholder actually didn't pay a
- 18:13Speaker 5: tax at any of that redundancy pay so that was
- 18:16Speaker 5: straight in my pocket, which was amazing. And then I
- 18:19Speaker 5: just madly scrambled. I got maybe done in at thirty
- 18:22Speaker 5: weeks pregnant.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, that would have been so stressful. Was
- 18:25Speaker 1: that with your daughter or your son?
- 18:27Speaker 4: My son?
- 18:28Speaker 5: So that was during the COVID lockdown. I remember my
- 18:30Speaker 5: manager crying as she had the conversation with me. She's like,
- 18:33Speaker 5: I'm so sorry. I'm like, yeah, nothing to be so bad.
- 18:35Speaker 5: It's fine, I know how this goes. I've done this before.
- 18:37Speaker 1: It's really find that would have stressed me out. And
- 18:39Speaker 1: I mean you shared earlier that when you had had
- 18:42Speaker 1: your baby, you were in the hospital like looking down
- 18:44Speaker 1: at him and just feeling like you can't do this,
- 18:46Speaker 1: So you're already in a financial pickle, like and I
- 18:48Speaker 1: know that. It's it's funny because like, obviously your manager
- 18:51Speaker 1: has to deliver that news, but it was probably not
- 18:53Speaker 1: their decision, like they would have just had to deliver.
- 18:55Speaker 4: It to you.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But you just go, this sucks, like this is the worst,
- 18:59Speaker 1: and like, what are you going to do? Start a
- 19:02Speaker 1: new job at thirty weeks pregnant? What did you do?
- 19:04Speaker 5: So, yeah, it was a departmental wide thing, so there
- 19:07Speaker 5: was a few of them.
- 19:08Speaker 4: My husband and I were in the same department.
- 19:09Speaker 5: But because he so he's quite a bit older than me,
- 19:12Speaker 5: he had been there for a really long time, so
- 19:14Speaker 5: they kept him because it would have cost them too
- 19:15Speaker 5: much to get rid of so they kept him, which
- 19:18Speaker 5: was it actually worked out really well for us because
- 19:20Speaker 5: there was that constant of his income coming in which
- 19:22Speaker 5: we really needed.
- 19:23Speaker 4: So that was fine.
- 19:24Speaker 5: So they what had happened was their redundancy process is
- 19:27Speaker 5: a really long time.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It's like thirteen weeks in total.
- 19:30Speaker 5: It's enormous, and so they paused it while they went
- 19:33Speaker 5: to maternity leave, and so I went on maternity leave
- 19:36Speaker 5: and then I wasn't due to return. So that was
- 19:39Speaker 5: in the September August September. I wasn't due to return
- 19:44Speaker 5: until Dune the following year, but they had taken the
- 19:48Speaker 5: redundancy of someone else because one of the guys had quit,
- 19:51Speaker 5: and so they took the redundancy of someone else and said,
- 19:53Speaker 5: you can do this job. And I was due to
- 19:55Speaker 5: come back at the same time. Someone who was doing
- 19:57Speaker 5: a similar job to me when on maternity and so
- 20:00Speaker 5: I said to my husband, I'm going to have to
- 20:02Speaker 5: go back early because I'm terrified they're going to take
- 20:04Speaker 5: this redundancy off me.
- 20:05Speaker 4: And because I had already worked out how much we
- 20:07Speaker 4: were getting in. It was quite Oh, it was life changing.
- 20:10Speaker 4: The sun.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you've probably done your budget and worked it out
- 20:13Speaker 1: and been like okay, cool, Like I have two kids
- 20:15Speaker 1: and like my husband's inconsistent work, Like you get so
- 20:18Speaker 1: comfortable with an idea and like obviously you would have
- 20:21Speaker 1: worked it out again, but like, oh my goodness, like
- 20:23Speaker 1: the stress, yeah, completely.
- 20:25Speaker 5: And so I ended up going back when he was
- 20:28Speaker 5: four months old, which.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Was never my plan.
- 20:30Speaker 1: What was that like?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Oh, it was stressful.
- 20:33Speaker 5: So I interviewed and interviewed and interviewed, and I got
- 20:37Speaker 5: the job that i'man now, which has changed since I
- 20:39Speaker 5: got it. But I then had to go back to
- 20:42Speaker 5: full time work and it was three days in the office.
- 20:44Speaker 5: So going from being at home during COVID every single
- 20:47Speaker 5: day to then the kids, both kids being in daycare
- 20:51Speaker 5: full time, it was a huge adjustment, but I did it,
- 20:54Speaker 5: and so my roles changed a couple of times. So
- 20:57Speaker 5: I entered into this company as a a team assistant
- 21:02Speaker 5: and then our sales managers slowly gradually started giving me
- 21:05Speaker 5: more of the sales stuff to do all the behind
- 21:08Speaker 5: the scenes sales stuff, and so she's been training me up.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And then so I.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Had signed up the year before us to do the
- 21:15Speaker 5: diploma when the government had started doing the free courses
- 21:19Speaker 5: trying to get more people to do diplomas and certificates.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Master yeah, and so I was like, I'll do a
- 21:23Speaker 5: set for and then I was like, no, what stuff?
- 21:25Speaker 5: And I'm just going to go the whole hole and
- 21:27Speaker 5: do the diploma, go hard to go home, because I
- 21:30Speaker 5: was thinking that a lot, because I had no tertiary
- 21:31Speaker 5: qualifications either, So I thought a diploma at my age
- 21:35Speaker 5: will look a lot better than doing a surf for well,
- 21:38Speaker 5: that was how it was in my head anyway.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It's funny how we think these things, right, Like it's
- 21:42Speaker 1: so funny how we like do our justifications and like, yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 1: like obviously, like there's probably some weight to it, like
- 21:48Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, like one is technically more educated
- 21:51Speaker 1: than the other, but like you're in this role already
- 21:54Speaker 1: and you probably would have got it with or without,
- 21:57Speaker 1: And I don't know, it just makes you feel like
- 21:59Speaker 1: you've got a little bit more weight if you wanted
- 22:01Speaker 1: to move around or do something later in your career.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Exactly right, exactly right. And so I started here early
- 22:06Speaker 5: twenty twenty two, and then I was on one hundred
- 22:09Speaker 5: K almost from the get go, and so I did
- 22:12Speaker 5: the diploma. Just before I was finishing, I sat down
- 22:14Speaker 5: with my work best here was also the finance team,
- 22:17Speaker 5: and she's such an advocate for herself and everyone else else.
- 22:19Speaker 5: She's like, you need to go in there and ask
- 22:21Speaker 5: her at pay rat.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yes, I love her already.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Yeah, she's so great.
- 22:25Speaker 5: And so I was like, oh god, I can't do that,
- 22:27Speaker 5: and she's like, yes, you can.
- 22:29Speaker 4: And so before I'd even had a chance, to my
- 22:31Speaker 4: manager of Porbia side and she's like, can we have
- 22:32Speaker 4: a quick chat? And I was like, oh.
- 22:34Speaker 1: God, oh no, anyone who says that illegal? Can we
- 22:37Speaker 1: have a quick chat?
- 22:38Speaker 4: I don't know?
- 22:39Speaker 1: Am I losing my job?
- 22:40Speaker 4: Yeah? I'm always like, am I in trouble? She was
- 22:42Speaker 4: like no, dot know. And somebody walked in.
- 22:44Speaker 5: She sat down and she's like, so I want to
- 22:46Speaker 5: do a little bit of a performance review because we're giving.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Your caras and I was like, oh, amazing.
- 22:51Speaker 5: And she's like, we're going to give you twenty five
- 22:54Speaker 5: thousand dollars extra and I'm like, sorry, what, Yeah, it
- 22:58Speaker 5: gets better.
- 22:58Speaker 4: It gets better.
- 23:00Speaker 5: He also then said and also, I'm going to give
- 23:02Speaker 5: you some kpies and if you can hit them in
- 23:04Speaker 5: the next twelve months, we're going to give you another
- 23:06Speaker 5: twenty five the hours to fill with kries.
- 23:07Speaker 4: And so I was like, oh my god, I don't
- 23:09Speaker 4: even know what to say right now.
- 23:11Speaker 1: My Jewey is on the floor. So are you going
- 23:12Speaker 1: to go out to one fifty soon if you hit
- 23:14Speaker 1: your KPIs June.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Should be June.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Oh you are iconic. So obviously there's some good cash
- 23:24Speaker 1: coming in. And can I make an assumption that your
- 23:26Speaker 1: husband earns something similar at the moment he.
- 23:28Speaker 5: Does, I'm going to earn him when I get the
- 23:31Speaker 5: pay rise.
- 23:32Speaker 4: On coen behavior.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I actually said to him when I told him what happened,
- 23:35Speaker 5: I'm like, does that bother you?
- 23:37Speaker 4: And he's like, hell no. He's like, if that means
- 23:40Speaker 4: I can retire early, go for it.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But also, what the hell if any man is intimidated
- 23:46Speaker 1: by what a woman earns? Like just walk? Just walk
- 23:49Speaker 1: like one out of ten.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Totally, That's what I was kind of like, this could
- 23:52Speaker 5: go one of two ways this question.
- 23:54Speaker 1: You've got to test the waters because I never thought
- 23:55Speaker 1: this would be a reality totally. Oh my goodness. So
- 23:59Speaker 1: what are your money goals? What are you currently working towards?
- 24:02Speaker 1: You obviously had the big money goal of getting out
- 24:04Speaker 1: of debt and you smashed that out. So what do
- 24:06Speaker 1: the big money goals now look like?
- 24:08Speaker 5: So have straight I wrote them down? So the first
- 24:10Speaker 5: one is we are going to buy a house? Is
- 24:13Speaker 5: she I actually reached out to Zella last month and
- 24:16Speaker 5: we've got oh my.
- 24:17Speaker 1: God, good idea.
- 24:19Speaker 5: We've got our first meeting with Solicity the week after next,
- 24:23Speaker 5: so I'm very excited.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Flick is gorgeous. You're gonna love her.
- 24:28Speaker 1: She's new to their team, but I've gotten her because
- 24:31Speaker 1: she's come back as a broker after Matt Leaf. Oh
- 24:33Speaker 1: she's a mum. I think you two will get on.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I think you too will get on. And she's just
- 24:37Speaker 1: you know those people that like just get it like
- 24:40Speaker 1: she just gets it, like she pulls it all together
- 24:43Speaker 1: so quickly. I'm so excited. Anyway, I won't keep talking
- 24:46Speaker 1: about Flick because I know that she'll probably listen to this.
- 24:50Speaker 5: And we're actually doing the big move. So we're moving
- 24:52Speaker 5: from Sydney up to the Blue Mountains.
- 24:53Speaker 1: A little bit of a tree change, yeah, totally.
- 24:56Speaker 5: And my husband and I are on really good salaries,
- 24:58Speaker 5: but because we haven't bought before, it is so hard
- 25:03Speaker 5: to get into the market in city, even on the
- 25:05Speaker 5: salaries on and people like I said that to someone
- 25:07Speaker 5: before and like, but you earn so much money, and
- 25:09Speaker 5: I'm like, it doesn't matter.
- 25:11Speaker 4: We would only just be able to service alone.
- 25:13Speaker 5: And that would be cutting everything back to basics, So
- 25:16Speaker 5: no extras for the kids, no swimming lessons.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I yeah, it's not possible.
- 25:20Speaker 5: So we're going to move to the Blue Mountains because
- 25:22Speaker 5: we love it up there. We go for quite a
- 25:24Speaker 5: few like day trips up there, we spend a lot
- 25:26Speaker 5: of time up there, and it's where we feel home
- 25:29Speaker 5: when we get up there, and so we're super excited.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that feeling.
- 25:33Speaker 4: I love that.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And also, I just don't think people understand how genuinely
- 25:37Speaker 1: hard it is to get into your first home. Like
- 25:39Speaker 1: and obviously, like not everyone's going to go on a
- 25:41Speaker 1: property investing journey, but like the first property is the
- 25:44Speaker 1: hardest to get into because you not only need like
- 25:48Speaker 1: a complete deposit, but like it's the first time that
- 25:51Speaker 1: you're going to experience mortgage stress. It's the first time
- 25:54Speaker 1: that you're going through this entire process, and you forget
- 25:57Speaker 1: how many additional extras there are going to be, like
- 26:00Speaker 1: paying for a conveyancer, paying for building and pest, Like
- 26:04Speaker 1: what's stamp duty going to look like? As first home buyers, Yes,
- 26:07Speaker 1: you could probably get a waiver on that if you
- 26:09Speaker 1: buy under a certain amount, but you've got two kids
- 26:12Speaker 1: and a husband, and I'm assuming you don't want to
- 26:14Speaker 1: buy something that's relatively cheap because that's not going to
- 26:17Speaker 1: get you the location you want. So we're talking about
- 26:20Speaker 1: stamp duty, like there's just so many different things involved
- 26:23Speaker 1: that then often become overwhelming, and you're just like, I'm
- 26:27Speaker 1: never going to get in. But I'm excited for you
- 26:29Speaker 1: to sit down with Flick because you can take you
- 26:31Speaker 1: through everything.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm excited too, And speaking of the house things,
- 26:34Speaker 5: So it took me a really long time to get
- 26:36Speaker 5: to the point of being okay with buying house because
- 26:39Speaker 5: my husband.
- 26:40Speaker 4: And I grew up quite differently.
- 26:41Speaker 5: His family quite well off, so he always had everything
- 26:43Speaker 5: he needed UNTI a really good school, and so he's
- 26:47Speaker 5: never bought either. So it's really it was similar to
- 26:49Speaker 5: what you were saying with you and your husband. It
- 26:51Speaker 5: was never a goal of mine, but it's a goal
- 26:52Speaker 5: of his. And so I was like, I'm not sure.
- 26:55Speaker 5: I don't think we can do this. When we're talking
- 26:56Speaker 5: about living in Sydney, I just kept saying to him,
- 26:58Speaker 5: we're not going to be able to service. We literally
- 27:00Speaker 5: like I worked in numbers and like you don't.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Want that stress. And don't get me wrong, Historically that's
- 27:05Speaker 1: been so like right of passage, but now it's like
- 27:09Speaker 1: that quote rite of passage actually becomes an entire burden
- 27:13Speaker 1: and I'd actually prefer to rent. Like I remember when
- 27:16Speaker 1: I didn't think it would be a reality for me,
- 27:18Speaker 1: and I was trying to like way up what that
- 27:19Speaker 1: would look like. I was like, that just feels like
- 27:22Speaker 1: too much, Like I don't actually want to do that.
- 27:25Speaker 1: And I think that at the very start of my
- 27:27Speaker 1: you know, I got out of debt and then I
- 27:29Speaker 1: started investing in the share market because that was accessible
- 27:31Speaker 1: for me. I was like, this feels good, Like I
- 27:34Speaker 1: didn't want to take that step because it just felt
- 27:36Speaker 1: like too much. And it would have been had I
- 27:39Speaker 1: stayed on the same salary, if we're being honest, like
- 27:42Speaker 1: it just wouldn't have worked out. And that's okay, but
- 27:45Speaker 1: I think we need to talk about that more.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Hey, totally, totally.
- 27:48Speaker 5: And so I'm actually reading your property book at the moment.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I hope that's a good book, great author, it's right.
- 27:54Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 27:55Speaker 5: I'm about halfway through, and there's so many things in
- 27:57Speaker 5: there that I just didn't even like process or no
- 28:01Speaker 5: that was part of the process, and I was like,
- 28:02Speaker 5: oh gosh, okay, but it's good to know. I'm one
- 28:05Speaker 5: of those people that likes to have all of the
- 28:06Speaker 5: facts upfront. I like to know everything about everything that
- 28:08Speaker 5: I'm going into.
- 28:09Speaker 1: That's what I wrote that book for. Like, literally, here
- 28:12Speaker 1: is everything here, all of the things that you need
- 28:14Speaker 1: to look at. Here's a checklist of what I want
- 28:16Speaker 1: you to take to your first home inspection. Like it's
- 28:19Speaker 1: literally the book that if I could hold your hand
- 28:22Speaker 1: through the entire process, I would. And lots of people,
- 28:25Speaker 1: and like even lots of my clients, they like post
- 28:29Speaker 1: it note different sections to come back to, or like
- 28:31Speaker 1: they take the actual book to their house inspections because
- 28:34Speaker 1: it's got the lists and stuff in it, which can
- 28:37Speaker 1: be really helpful.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yes, totally. And then my second one is we are
- 28:42Speaker 4: going on.
- 28:43Speaker 5: A big holiday to the USA in twenty thirty one.
- 28:47Speaker 5: My husband's turning fifty and my auntie's turning seventy and
- 28:50Speaker 5: one of my cousins is turning forty.
- 28:51Speaker 4: So we're doing a big fairly holiday.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Over the Oh my goodness, Yeah, I'm so excited.
- 28:55Speaker 4: We're going to go on.
- 28:56Speaker 5: So my husband's dream has always been to go skiing
- 28:58Speaker 5: in Colorado, when he turns.
- 29:00Speaker 4: And so we're going.
- 29:01Speaker 5: To go over just after Christmas of twenty thirty and
- 29:05Speaker 5: go skiing and then go and meet my family in
- 29:07Speaker 5: Florida and we're all doing a big Disney cruise together,
- 29:10Speaker 5: at a big Disney trip.
- 29:11Speaker 1: That will be so fun. Ms Ters Gorici would be
- 29:13Speaker 1: so jealous.
- 29:15Speaker 4: I'm so excited.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, how old will your kids be?
- 29:18Speaker 5: Well, my daughter's going to be turning twelve like two
- 29:20Speaker 5: weeks later and starting high school, and my son will
- 29:23Speaker 5: be ten, not none younger.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's an age where they're not going to forget
- 29:27Speaker 1: it either. Like if you took them when they were
- 29:29Speaker 1: so young, they'd be like, oh maybe I remember it
- 29:31Speaker 1: if you show me pictures. But like those ages, they're
- 29:34Speaker 1: going to remember it and they get.
- 29:35Speaker 5: To go with other cousins and everything. I'm so excited.
- 29:37Speaker 5: I'm so excited.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I know it's far away that like
- 29:41Speaker 1: that is so fun. And to be honest, you're going
- 29:44Speaker 1: to go into that holiday because I can see your
- 29:47Speaker 1: mindset and how you're planning for it already. You're going
- 29:50Speaker 1: into that holiday and you're not going to have any
- 29:52Speaker 1: financial stress. I'm assuming the whole thing's going to be
- 29:54Speaker 1: completely paid off by the time you get to that holiday. Yeah,
- 29:57Speaker 1: my husband and I sat down into the numbers and
- 29:59Speaker 1: worked at how much we need to save each fortnite,
- 30:01Speaker 1: so we put that away. And then my third goal
- 30:05Speaker 1: is so I have started investing, like I invested on
- 30:09Speaker 1: and off with Chaseys, and then I panicked and sold
- 30:11Speaker 1: them all and then as you do when you don't
- 30:14Speaker 1: know what you're doing.
- 30:14Speaker 5: And then I actually, when I got all my finances
- 30:18Speaker 5: in order last year, I started with fifty dollars a fortnight,
- 30:21Speaker 5: and then I worked my numbers again and changed it
- 30:23Speaker 5: to one hundred and fifty. And then by taking money
- 30:26Speaker 5: off the money that I allow myself to spend on
- 30:29Speaker 5: discussionary stuff each fortnite, I took the money from there
- 30:31Speaker 5: and pulled it into my investing one. And then I
- 30:34Speaker 5: also did that again recently to so I'm doing two
- 30:36Speaker 5: hundred a fortnite.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Who are you? Four hundred bucks a month? You found
- 30:39Speaker 1: four hundred dollars a month to invest? Excuse me?
- 30:42Speaker 4: Who are you?
- 30:44Speaker 1: I'm going to go back to previous goo and tap
- 30:46Speaker 1: you on the shoulder and be like, hey, I know
- 30:48Speaker 1: you just took on your shitty ex boyfriend's twenty thousand
- 30:51Speaker 1: dollar alone. But let me just give you a peek
- 30:53Speaker 1: into the future, because it's looking sick.
- 30:56Speaker 5: It is, And I have already said to my husband
- 30:58Speaker 5: at once that pay rise come through and we've put
- 31:01Speaker 5: away for the mortgage and everything like that, I'm going
- 31:03Speaker 5: to put all that extra money into investing because the
- 31:07Speaker 5: way the world is right now, I'm a bit nervous
- 31:09Speaker 5: about how everything's going.
- 31:10Speaker 1: So look at you. You are going to be so
- 31:13Speaker 1: financially secure.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 5: The most important thing for me with that is to
- 31:17Speaker 5: be able to pass on a legacy to my kids
- 31:19Speaker 5: and their kids if they decide to have kids one day.
- 31:22Speaker 5: And just creating that generational wealth that we have had.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Oh my god, you deserve it and so much more.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I am so obsessed, like I adore that you get
- 31:30Speaker 1: to do. It makes me a little bit teary when
- 31:32Speaker 1: people are literally changing their entire lives. All right, I
- 31:36Speaker 1: have a lot of questions. Let's go to a really
- 31:37Speaker 1: quick break and on the flip side, we'll jump straight
- 31:40Speaker 1: back in. All right, money diarist, we are back. And
- 31:46Speaker 1: before you told me that you've managed to find four
- 31:49Speaker 1: hundred bucks a month to invest which is so cool
- 31:53Speaker 1: and so impactful. And you're getting a pay rise soon,
- 31:56Speaker 1: so more money is going to go into that, which
- 31:58Speaker 1: is very exciting. What are you investing in, though, So
- 32:02Speaker 1: tell me a little bit more about the investments that
- 32:04Speaker 1: you have.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Okay, I wrote all this town. So I have a
- 32:07Speaker 4: little bit in crypto that.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Was more of an Instagram ad popped up, and it
- 32:11Speaker 5: was for one of the platforms that it was like,
- 32:13Speaker 5: if you invest, we'll give you thirty dollars a bitcoin.
- 32:15Speaker 4: So I was like, I'll put thirty bucks in.
- 32:17Speaker 5: So currently that's sitting at forty five dollars seventeen because
- 32:20Speaker 5: it's just absolutely gone down and I'm so glad that
- 32:23Speaker 5: I don't have any.
- 32:24Speaker 4: More in that.
- 32:24Speaker 1: I wish I was as impactful as Instagram ads could be.
- 32:28Speaker 1: But in how Instagram ads like they just get you sometime,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and TikTok ads they get me. There's stuff that I
- 32:34Speaker 1: have purchased from a TikTok ad. I'm like, hold on,
- 32:36Speaker 1: how do I harness this sense of urgency and then
- 32:40Speaker 1: get people to get out of debt? It just doesn't
- 32:42Speaker 1: work the same, does it.
- 32:43Speaker 4: No? I wish it did. I really wish it did.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I'm going to keep trying though.
- 32:48Speaker 5: And then I've also got so at the moment, I've
- 32:50Speaker 5: got one thousand and eighty dollars in shares, and so
- 32:54Speaker 5: that's made up of I've got three ets to rate,
- 32:57Speaker 5: so the real estate Investment Trust, one direct share, and
- 33:01Speaker 5: then my super sitting at in this, I'm really proud
- 33:05Speaker 5: of almost one hundred and twenty five k.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Excuse me?
- 33:07Speaker 4: What? Yeah?
- 33:08Speaker 1: How what is that? Because you worked from birth or like,
- 33:12Speaker 1: what's going on there?
- 33:13Speaker 5: No, So the insurance company actually paid above ward super,
- 33:17Speaker 5: so they paid when it was sitting at the nine percent,
- 33:19Speaker 5: they were paying thirteen.
- 33:20Speaker 6: So for all those years, that is so good.
- 33:24Speaker 5: Yeah, even though my salary was average, because they were
- 33:28Speaker 5: paying that above awards super, it's huge.
- 33:31Speaker 4: Like my husband's super. I'm not going to say what
- 33:33Speaker 4: it is because it doesn't want me to, but.
- 33:34Speaker 5: My husband's one because they've been paying that for so
- 33:36Speaker 5: long is enormous as well.
- 33:38Speaker 4: So even if we didn't have.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Oh you guys, I'm so excited for you. That's literally
- 33:43Speaker 1: the bloody best.
- 33:45Speaker 4: Yeah. So we set up for retirement.
- 33:47Speaker 5: We did one of those forecasters and it's just to
- 33:52Speaker 5: see that number, it's it's unbelievable.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you just go actually, life's going to work out
- 33:57Speaker 1: for me.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 1: But isn't it funny because like when you're younger, I
- 34:00Speaker 1: think you just assume these things happen. And I was
- 34:03Speaker 1: doing a talk the other day, like one of these
- 34:06Speaker 1: International Women's Day talk presentation things that I do, and
- 34:09Speaker 1: I was like, I used to just think that things
- 34:11Speaker 1: would just work out, like things would just happen and
- 34:14Speaker 1: fall into place. Like when I was eighteen and I'd
- 34:16Speaker 1: started full time work and I looked at all these
- 34:18Speaker 1: thirty year olds, I thought that they had their stuff together.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Like I would look at them and be like, oh
- 34:22Speaker 1: my goodness, like they've just had their first baby, or
- 34:24Speaker 1: they're just doing it, like they must have their shit together.
- 34:28Speaker 1: And then the more you learn about people, the more
- 34:30Speaker 1: you realize actually doesn't work out for you. It works
- 34:33Speaker 1: out because you worked for it, and it works out
- 34:35Speaker 1: because you made a plan, and most people don't actually
- 34:37Speaker 1: have a plan, and most people are actually not in
- 34:40Speaker 1: a good position, even though they look like they are.
- 34:43Speaker 1: And the more that you learn, the more that you're like, oh,
- 34:45Speaker 1: actually I need to do this for me so that
- 34:48Speaker 1: I can say life worked out for me. But it's
- 34:51Speaker 1: because I did the work, and I think so many
- 34:53Speaker 1: times we just hope that the work doesn't have to
- 34:56Speaker 1: be done. But when you start doing the work like
- 34:58Speaker 1: you have, you feel like a different human being totally.
- 35:02Speaker 5: I don't have that anxiety inducing waking up in the
- 35:05Speaker 5: middle of the night, go oh my god, how am
- 35:06Speaker 5: I going.
- 35:07Speaker 4: To pay this off?
- 35:08Speaker 1: It's life changing, isn't it. It's so cool. So talk
- 35:11Speaker 1: to me about debt. I'm assuming you don't have any debt,
- 35:14Speaker 1: but you're planning to go into debt when you purchase
- 35:17Speaker 1: a property.
- 35:17Speaker 4: Correct, So I have no debt.
- 35:19Speaker 1: That's so sexy. It should there should be like a
- 35:22Speaker 1: sound effect which is like balloons popping and champagne and
- 35:25Speaker 1: people cheering.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Yes, in my head that happens when I say that.
- 35:29Speaker 4: So I've got that there.
- 35:30Speaker 5: But yeah, So we're looking to take on a mortgage,
- 35:33Speaker 5: and so our mortgage will be between.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Eight hundred and nine hundred and fifty depending on what
- 35:39Speaker 4: we end up with.
- 35:40Speaker 5: I don't want to spend any more than about nine hundred,
- 35:43Speaker 5: which is doable where we're going to move to. Because
- 35:46Speaker 5: with that, I've done a couple of the online calculators
- 35:49Speaker 5: and the average of that we will be able to
- 35:51Speaker 5: comfortably live and the kids are still be able to
- 35:53Speaker 5: do the extracurriculars and all that sort of stuff.
- 35:55Speaker 1: So yeah, gorgeous. It's so important to remember that, and
- 35:58Speaker 1: it feels like you've got your heads growed on because
- 36:01Speaker 1: sometimes you'll go and just go, what can we borrow?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Like what can we borrow up to? And then you
- 36:05Speaker 1: see that as like a spend limit. And don't get
- 36:08Speaker 1: me wrong, some people do that and it works out
- 36:09Speaker 1: for them. But it's so important to go, actually, what's
- 36:13Speaker 1: going to give me the best work life balance? Because
- 36:15Speaker 1: actually the mortgage I'm signing up for is for thirty years,
- 36:18Speaker 1: and like I know that. It sometimes feels like, oh,
- 36:20Speaker 1: for the next year, we'll just you know, cut back
- 36:22Speaker 1: on the kids swimming lessons, but like that's going to
- 36:25Speaker 1: happen for their entire school career. So what does.
- 36:29Speaker 4: That look like?
- 36:29Speaker 1: Are you happy with that? How do we work with
- 36:32Speaker 1: a number that gives you work life or work mortgage
- 36:35Speaker 1: balance or life mortgage balance or whatever we want to
- 36:39Speaker 1: call it. The places around where we are now, like
- 36:42Speaker 1: we ideally we'd love to stay there, but they're like
- 36:45Speaker 1: one point four upwards. And I just said to my husband,
- 36:48Speaker 1: we literally cannot afford that.
- 36:50Speaker 4: And I refuse.
- 36:51Speaker 5: I'm like, I know we're going to buy a house,
- 36:52Speaker 5: but I put my foot down at that. I'm not
- 36:54Speaker 5: giving up what we have now just to be able
- 36:58Speaker 5: to get into a house.
- 36:58Speaker 4: It's their own.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, looking at your income and knowing that your husband's
- 37:02Speaker 1: semi on the same link, you could be approved for
- 37:05Speaker 1: up to that depending on the deposit that you have,
- 37:07Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean And it's funny, right you said
- 37:10Speaker 1: we cannot afford that, but the reality is technically you could,
- 37:15Speaker 1: but we will not be affording that is a different story,
- 37:19Speaker 1: and that's such an empowering position to be in. It's
- 37:21Speaker 1: like no, no, no, Like it's not because we don't
- 37:23Speaker 1: have the cash. It's because I'm not willing to sacrifice
- 37:27Speaker 1: my values, and like the power in that is so cool.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Totally.
- 37:32Speaker 5: I have to stop myself as well, because I'm still
- 37:34Speaker 5: in that habit of saying I can't afford that, and
- 37:37Speaker 5: I catch myself saying that to the kids and I'm like, oh,
- 37:40Speaker 5: I have to really reel myself in and go we
- 37:42Speaker 5: can afford it. And we're teaching that. So we've been
- 37:45Speaker 5: teaching our daughter about money as well. And I'm taking
- 37:47Speaker 5: full credit for this because my husband just went along
- 37:49Speaker 5: for the ride.
- 37:49Speaker 4: I saw a TikTok.
- 37:50Speaker 1: He's in the backseat.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Yeah, he is. He just agrees with it. He's just
- 37:52Speaker 4: that you go for it.
- 37:53Speaker 5: So it's similar to what the barefoot investor does. But
- 37:56Speaker 5: she gets four jars and one of them is a spender,
- 37:59Speaker 5: one's a savior, one's an investor, then one's a gift ja.
- 38:02Speaker 5: And so she gets twelve dollars pocket money a week.
- 38:05Speaker 4: We do two dollars based on how old she is
- 38:07Speaker 4: per year. But she's been alive.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, I love that when I was little,
- 38:10Speaker 1: and obviously times have changed. Mine was fifty cents per year.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Now that inflation's pretty good. I'm not going to lie
- 38:17Speaker 1: so good.
- 38:18Speaker 5: So we've told her our only rule with that is
- 38:21Speaker 5: she has to split it evenly across the four jars,
- 38:23Speaker 5: and so she has three dollars in each jar. If
- 38:25Speaker 5: she hasn't touched her savee jar that week, she gets
- 38:27Speaker 5: fifty cents in interest.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Trying to teach her about interest.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Working obsessed. Yeah, And so her investor and her give jar.
- 38:35Speaker 5: We let her decide what amount she wants to bank
- 38:38Speaker 5: that at. So last time she decided thirty and so
- 38:40Speaker 5: she takes her jars down to the bank and takes
- 38:42Speaker 5: them to the teller and puts them in there. She
- 38:44Speaker 5: counts the money out and she deposits it, and then
- 38:46Speaker 5: we come home and she jumps on my computer and.
- 38:48Speaker 4: She does the transfers herself.
- 38:50Speaker 5: But she with the give jar. We said to her,
- 38:53Speaker 5: you have to donate this money. You get to choose
- 38:56Speaker 5: who you want to donate it too. So the first
- 38:57Speaker 5: time she did it, she donated to the Sydneyturechildren's Hospital.
- 39:01Speaker 4: And then she ended up spending a night at the.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Children's hospital over Christmas, and so my husband stayed with
- 39:07Speaker 5: her and told them about it. So they gave her
- 39:09Speaker 5: this toy. And then the Starlight Foundation came around and
- 39:11Speaker 5: played with her and.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Kept her calm.
- 39:13Speaker 5: And so this time when she thanked it, she did
- 39:15Speaker 5: a donation to the Starlight Foundation.
- 39:17Speaker 6: And so she but she's learning so much through that,
- 39:20Speaker 6: she is, and she was.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Able to see that because she had donated that money,
- 39:25Speaker 5: like that's what they do with their money.
- 39:26Speaker 4: They go to the hospitals and stuff, and it's.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Just no, no, that's just who whole So you're going
- 39:30Speaker 1: to make me cry. And you did that for her.
- 39:32Speaker 4: I did.
- 39:33Speaker 5: I did, and so even her saved her. So she'd
- 39:36Speaker 5: been saving. She's obsessed with Gabby's dollhouse. And so we're
- 39:40Speaker 5: at my mum's the other week and she's like, Mom,
- 39:42Speaker 5: I really really want to get the dollhouse. I've been
- 39:44Speaker 5: saving all my money. And I said, okay, call dad.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Check with dad. It's fine with me if it's fine
- 39:48Speaker 5: with dad. And so she gets my husband on the
- 39:50Speaker 5: phone and she's like, Daddy, please, I've been saying all
- 39:52Speaker 5: my money, I've got this much saved, I'm going to
- 39:55Speaker 5: have this much and left.
- 39:55Speaker 4: If I spend it, it's not all my money.
- 39:57Speaker 5: And he was like, to know what, dlse you do
- 39:59Speaker 5: that all your money, you go and do that, And
- 40:01Speaker 5: so we went to the shops. She took her money
- 40:04Speaker 5: and then it ended up being almost half the grass anyway.
- 40:06Speaker 4: So she's like, mom, it was a money win.
- 40:08Speaker 1: She's like, I spent.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Less money, and I'm like, that is what we call
- 40:11Speaker 4: a mommy win. Babe.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yes, Queen, I adore that so much, And like, I
- 40:16Speaker 1: love how you're teaching your kids about money. Adore adore this.
- 40:20Speaker 1: You are literally the mummy and the parent that you
- 40:23Speaker 1: didn't have.
- 40:24Speaker 4: I was who I needed at her age.
- 40:27Speaker 5: I get to be that person and it's like, think,
- 40:30Speaker 5: she's so similar to me in personality. So it's what
- 40:33Speaker 5: I imagine it would have been like had I had
- 40:37Speaker 5: been afforded that opportunity.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Kind of like you're feeding your inner child at the
- 40:42Speaker 1: same time. Yeah, totally exactly, And I've hated I feel
- 40:46Speaker 1: like I've almost completely haled my inn a child for
- 40:48Speaker 1: me able to do this stuff for my kids, and
- 40:50Speaker 1: so it's just I.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Feel like I've just got this bubble of joy inside.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Over time I think about this stuff.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Oh, I'm obsessed. So obviously that is a fantast stick
- 41:00Speaker 1: money habit. What do you think your best money habit is?
- 41:03Speaker 4: So I have three. I don't think about straight. I've
- 41:06Speaker 4: got three.
- 41:07Speaker 5: My first one is I created a budget and cash
- 41:10Speaker 5: slow spreadsheet that has so many tabs to it. So
- 41:15Speaker 5: I've created a forward thought and created a mortgage tracker.
- 41:18Speaker 5: I've got my credit card tracker. We now I do
- 41:21Speaker 5: have a credit card, but it doesn't have any debt,
- 41:24Speaker 5: so I use it like a debit card for the
- 41:25Speaker 5: points because we often go to visit family up north
- 41:29Speaker 5: of New South Wales and.
- 41:30Speaker 4: That's so we're using the points for that.
- 41:32Speaker 5: And so I've got my credit card tracker to track
- 41:35Speaker 5: on my expenses. I've got all my sinking fun tracking,
- 41:37Speaker 5: I've got everyday accounts.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Who are you? I love this? You don't even need those,
- 41:42Speaker 1: she's on the money one. I'll gift it to you
- 41:44Speaker 1: so you can have a play with it and you
- 41:46Speaker 1: can see how it all works. And there's a whole
- 41:48Speaker 1: heap of like videos on like money, mindset and stuff,
- 41:50Speaker 1: which I think that you'll really enjoy. But I'll give
- 41:52Speaker 1: that to you. But it sounds like you don't even
- 41:54Speaker 1: need it, but like I hope that you like it.
- 41:57Speaker 4: Still, I'm sure I will love it. Thank you so
- 41:59Speaker 4: much so.
- 42:00Speaker 5: And I actually am at the point now where i've
- 42:02Speaker 5: my brother and his girlfriend just moved out a week
- 42:05Speaker 5: or so ago, and I sat down and did a
- 42:08Speaker 5: budget with them for their expenses to work out what
- 42:10Speaker 5: they've got coming in and that, Oh.
- 42:12Speaker 4: How fun.
- 42:13Speaker 1: You're becoming me like anyone who wants to sit down
- 42:16Speaker 1: with me in my personal life. And I'll do your
- 42:18Speaker 1: budget like say less, bab say less. I'll even pay
- 42:20Speaker 1: for brunch if you let me.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Do that my mum, Like I said, she's such a legend,
- 42:25Speaker 5: but she has had no financial literacy. So I'm slowly
- 42:28Speaker 5: sitting down with her and teaching her stuff.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Like being like, okay, mom, let's do this together.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 5: And I looked over her super and I got her
- 42:35Speaker 5: super changed, and I've split up her bank accounts as
- 42:39Speaker 5: well now so she's not spending and becoming at the
- 42:41Speaker 5: same one.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And isn't it cool? Like and you're the perfect example
- 42:44Speaker 1: of this of when we can teach one woman about
- 42:47Speaker 1: financial literacy what she does for the rest of her community. Like,
- 42:51Speaker 1: because you've learned about it, your kids have financial literacy,
- 42:54Speaker 1: because you've done it, Your mom is going to have
- 42:57Speaker 1: better financial literacy. She's probably going to tell her friends
- 43:00Speaker 1: about things like, oh my daughter changed my super and
- 43:02Speaker 1: then her friends are maybe going to change and look
- 43:04Speaker 1: at their super because oh, well, you know money do
- 43:07Speaker 1: I storted it. I didn't even realize they needed to look.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Like we are having such a ripple effect and it
- 43:13Speaker 1: makes me so happy to know that, Like, from these
- 43:16Speaker 1: little things that I do, then they're bigger things, and
- 43:19Speaker 1: then they're massive things for you, and one day people
- 43:23Speaker 1: are going to retire comfortably and hopefully they maybe invite
- 43:27Speaker 1: me over for a cup of tea or something.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Completely.
- 43:30Speaker 5: I totally totally gre My second good habit is shot back.
- 43:35Speaker 4: I use shot back and top cash back.
- 43:37Speaker 5: Now I have the browser extensions and go for which
- 43:40Speaker 5: everyone's got the most cash back, but.
- 43:42Speaker 4: My shot back lifetime earnings.
- 43:44Speaker 5: I've been on shot back for I think four years now,
- 43:47Speaker 5: four six hundred and fifty seven dollars.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, And that's like literally just free cash
- 43:53Speaker 1: totally is it sitting there if you pulled it out?
- 43:56Speaker 4: I pulled it.
- 43:56Speaker 5: I pulled it out every time I can, and so
- 43:58Speaker 5: I've been putting it into my agency fund when I
- 44:00Speaker 5: pull it out, straight into the emergency fund. And then
- 44:03Speaker 5: I actually because Beck had mentioned the games that you
- 44:06Speaker 5: can get paid for the games, I have made like
- 44:08Speaker 5: fifty bucks from playing the games in there too.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Oh. I love that.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I didn't even know they existed until Beck was like,
- 44:14Speaker 1: did you know you can play games on shotbag And
- 44:16Speaker 1: I'm like, sorry, what?
- 44:16Speaker 4: And it was such a good break too. I was like, oh, and.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I mean I like playing games and doing mindless things
- 44:21Speaker 1: on my phone while I watched maths say less. I
- 44:24Speaker 1: just got paid to watch maths exactly.
- 44:27Speaker 5: And then my third one is I never paid full
- 44:29Speaker 5: plus for anything I refuse.
- 44:32Speaker 4: I just think everything's always on sale at some point,
- 44:35Speaker 4: I will get it when it's on sale.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I love that. So do you have any bad money habits?
- 44:39Speaker 5: So twelve months ago, it definitely would have been impulse spending.
- 44:43Speaker 5: I was horrific for impulse spending because I've done a
- 44:47Speaker 5: lot of work on myself.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Now it's not I've actually gone the opposite direction.
- 44:51Speaker 5: So my bad, my worst money have it now is
- 44:53Speaker 5: feeling guilty every time I spend money on myself. I
- 44:56Speaker 5: can spend money on other people like my kids or
- 44:58Speaker 5: my husband, I'm more than happy to spend money on them,
- 45:00Speaker 5: But spending money on myself, I just it takes a
- 45:05Speaker 5: lot to talk me into it. And my husband's always like,
- 45:07Speaker 5: just do it, like you've come so far, just spend
- 45:10Speaker 5: the money, and I'm like, I just I'm steal in that.
- 45:12Speaker 5: I guess scarcity mindset.
- 45:14Speaker 4: So I'm trying to work my way.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Out of that and that sometimes it takes a bit,
- 45:17Speaker 1: but that's okay, and I'm glad you're aware of it,
- 45:19Speaker 1: because that can be like the hardest part right, So
- 45:23Speaker 1: talk to me. Now that we've had a full conversation
- 45:27Speaker 1: and I have a daughter, I feel like I'm obsessed
- 45:29Speaker 1: with you, Like from the moment that, like I read
- 45:31Speaker 1: your diary, I was like, oh, this is going to
- 45:33Speaker 1: be good, and then it just got better from fairy
- 45:35Speaker 1: Wings to how you are teaching your kids about money
- 45:38Speaker 1: to like you know, you planning a big holiday in
- 45:41Speaker 1: twenty thirty one, You're going to go on a Disney cruise,
- 45:43Speaker 1: like you are like living the life that you never
- 45:47Speaker 1: thought you could because like you literally left a relationship
- 45:50Speaker 1: with twenty thousand dollars worth of debt that wasn't even yours,
- 45:54Speaker 1: Like that is not who that woman thought she was
- 45:57Speaker 1: going to become, Like I'm so proud, But what about that?
- 46:02Speaker 1: Is a be? Like what would it take money dirist
- 46:05Speaker 1: to get from a B to like an A? Like
- 46:08Speaker 1: what do we have to change? Because like your super's
- 46:10Speaker 1: doing well, you're on the journey to buy your first home,
- 46:12Speaker 1: You're investing, you're about to get a pay rise, like
- 46:14Speaker 1: you're teaching your kids about money, Like where can we
- 46:17Speaker 1: fix things? Like why is there a whole grade that
- 46:20Speaker 1: you're not feeling like you're meeting Okay.
- 46:22Speaker 5: I'm going to change my grade after you've just ad
- 46:24Speaker 5: to go for an A minus to get to an
- 46:27Speaker 5: A class. I think it'll just be trying to sort
- 46:29Speaker 5: out the investing side of stuff, Like I know that
- 46:32Speaker 5: I'm on track to with my investments, but I need
- 46:36Speaker 5: to do more research and learn more in that space
- 46:39Speaker 5: and not just But that's a journey in itself totally.
- 46:42Speaker 5: And I think once we get into the house, that's when.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You'll feel secure.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Yeah. I feel like that's my personally last big hurdle.
- 46:51Speaker 5: I think once we get into the house and like
- 46:54Speaker 5: I can actually in my brain be like, oh my god, Okay,
- 46:57Speaker 5: we actually got into the house. Like I know, we've
- 46:59Speaker 5: got journey use a mortgage repayments sort but like, yeah,
- 47:03Speaker 5: we we're in it.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I adore that. I love that so much, Money, Dirice,
- 47:08Speaker 1: this has been beautiful. I have so loved getting to
- 47:11Speaker 1: know you and sharing everything. Like, I'm so excited that
- 47:15Speaker 1: you're going to have a meeting with Felicity. It's Ella
- 47:17Speaker 1: Money soon. You're going to love her. She is She's
- 47:20Speaker 1: a pocket rocket. Like there's a lot that you two
- 47:22Speaker 1: will get along over. I am so excited to be
- 47:25Speaker 1: on this journey, please let me know. I'm actually just
- 47:27Speaker 1: gonna ask Click. I'm going to be like, hey, can
- 47:29Speaker 1: you keep me in the loop about this mortgage so
- 47:31Speaker 1: that I know when they buy their first home. I'm
- 47:34Speaker 1: just so excited to you and the journey that you're
- 47:36Speaker 1: on and everything that you've been through. And I just
- 47:38Speaker 1: know that the community has gotten a lot out of
- 47:41Speaker 1: this as well. So thank you so much for sharing
- 47:43Speaker 1: with us. I'm obsessed.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Thank you so much for having me and letting me
- 47:46Speaker 4: share my story.
