- 1:19SPEAKER_00: It's definitely worth worth it.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: If you're interested in getting more leads, and more importantly, taking lead generation into your own hands, not relying on Boomtown and Zillow and all these, which are much, much, much more expensive than the society by far, and in my opinion, shittier.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: There are other alternatives.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: And taking matters into your own hands is not only more cost effective, but then you have full control.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And when the downturn happens, which is coming, you're going to be able to control your future.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You're going to know what's going on.

- 2:16SPEAKER_00: It happens automatically.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Now, real quick, real quick, so there's some stuff going on right now.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: It's uh it's April 2018.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Logo Gate with uh with NAR, the National Association of Realtors.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: They really stepped in shit the other day, uh, what was it, two days ago now, when they revealed their quote unquote new refreshed logo.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: And what they did in in one day, they they managed to piss off what 1.5 million agents or whatever it is.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Facebook groups, not just the SnapPac group, but everywhere, they're going nuts.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Agents are so pissed off over the new logo for numerous reasons.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: First off, they just rotated it sideways.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: They just took the the block R.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: And if you guys haven't seen this, um Inman has a good article about it, go check it out.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: We talked about it in the SnapPat group, but my god, they just rotated the the block R sideways a little bit, and they're saying it's a logo refresh.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: But here's here's like that in and of itself, it's like, okay, what a waste of time, but it's not just waste of time.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: At the same time, NAR is asking for an increase in our dues.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: If you're a member of the Association of Realtors, you have dues to pay.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: And I know some of you guys aren't realtors, and that's cool, but if you are, they want more dues from us every year.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: While at the same time, they budgeted for half a million goddamn dollars to do this logo, and they come out with this pile of steaming horse crap.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: I'm it if you can't tell, like I I wasn't even planning on talking about this today, it just pisses me off so much.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: They could have done a they could have gotten that same logo or a better one on Fiverr for five to ten bucks.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: But no, they budgeted half a million dollars, and then they come out revealing this, they're like, oh, we only spent half of our budget.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: We only spent a quarter of a million dollars of member dues on this steaming pile of horse crap.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Guys, if if this pisses you off as much as it does me, let NAR know.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Send emails, okay, send them messages, post on their wall, like you know, reach out.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Make your make your frustration and your anger heard.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Because I'm sorry, spending a quarter of a million dollars, which they think's great because they only spent half the budget, on a steaming pile of horse crap logo is inexcusable.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So th that's all I'm gonna say.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, ooh.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, and at the end of the show, in the massive QA section, this question comes from Rory Pitts up in Pewalp, Washington.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: And I, you know, I just realized I I've I think this is the second question from him.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So Rory, you're done.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Like, stop stop asking questions.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Just go figure the shit out yourself, okay?
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: I'm done.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: No, I'm just kidding.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Rory asks great questions.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So this one was very timely, very relevant with what's going on in the news right now, with Mark Zuckerberg being blindsided and grilled by Congress people that that don't even understand Facebook, they don't understand the internet that's going on in the news right now.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: And so he asks, how would I change my social media strategy if Facebook just disappeared tomorrow?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: If Facebook all of a sudden closed their doors, turned off their servers, they're they're like, oh, peace out, we're done.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: What would I do?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: How would I change my social media strategy?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Because so much of it is on Facebook.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So that's, you know, that's a big deal.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I'll talk about that.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Now I wanted if you know if you know me and if you've been following me for a while on Snapchat or Instagram or in the Snappack or whatever, you know that I used to absolutely hate and despise LinkedIn with a passion.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: I thought it was the most worthless social network on the planet.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: I hated everything about it.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I thought it was boring and stupid and a waste of time, more so than Google Plus.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: And that's saying something.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: But guess what?
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Things change.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: LinkedIn has changed.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: And we'll talk about what some of those things are and why I don't think you can afford to ignore LinkedIn anymore.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: That is, if you, you know, like success and like growing your audience and and your reach and everything.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: If you don't, then stay away.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: So I'll even though there's some specific things that have changed with LinkedIn, like features, the biggest thing is now LinkedIn has attention.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: LinkedIn has been getting attention from marketers, social media experts, and and just the average user.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: LinkedIn is now getting more attention, which in and of itself tells you, hey, I should probably pay attention to that and probably be over there, right?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I should probably take the time to learn how LinkedIn works and what what type of content to put out and everything like that.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: But I think some of the reasons why is now they they have native video.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Now they have native video that you can upload directly into LinkedIn, the same way that you upload a video directly to Facebook versus like pasting a YouTube video link, right?
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: And they perform differently.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: They're shown differently, they perform differently.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: And so LinkedIn now has native video, which is very, very powerful.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: And you know, video, like I talked about on my Snapchat episode, video helps people get to know you.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: They they video helps people connect with you and get to know your personality and everything.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: So now you're able to do that on LinkedIn, which is a totally different user base, right?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: It's more professionals, working people, you know, like it people don't go on there to I don't even know.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I don't even know.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I don't even know what I was gonna say.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: It probably would have been bad, so I'm glad I didn't say it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: But LinkedIn's a whole different audience, right?
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: And that's why I used to think it was so boring and stiff, and you know, everyone's just like, oh, look at this new uh, you know, our manufacturing contract we got, and blah blah blah.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: And I just blah.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: But now it brings personality and people back into LinkedIn, which is super powerful.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: And most people are s are so used to the way LinkedIn was that they're not gonna put out this content.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: So if you do, if all of a sudden you start doing video and you start taking advantage of the articles that you can write on LinkedIn's platform, right?
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: You can blog on LinkedIn, that's important, and that's powerful.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: But if you do those things where most of their users still aren't because it's new, you're gonna stick out.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: You're gonna get more attention, and you can kind of land grab that attention.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: So I've been even me, Mr.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Anti LinkedIn, have been spending much more time than I used to over there.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I don't do a lot of content creation, but I do share content over there.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: I share articles, I write articles, and and and I use Facebook or sorry, I use LinkedIn groups.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So there's industry groups, you know, like there's a bunch of real estate ones that there's a real estate group with over a hundred thousand members.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And you can if you create content, if you blog, you know, since I I launched the Massive Agent Society, I've been putting out more content to help realtors get more leads, and so LinkedIn's a good place to do that, especially in in real estate groups.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: All those things together, I I think you've just got to start paying attention to LinkedIn.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: And here's the thing, if LinkedIn is foreign to you, and it's it's still not as intuitive to me as say Facebook or Snapchat or Instagram or whatever, but it all that means is that it's worth learning.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: It's worth putting in the time and the effort to learn.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Here's who really needs to be using LinkedIn, is specifically the video and the blogging.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: If you're a blogger, you know, you can write that content on LinkedIn and then at the end of it say this article was originally published on, and then a link back to your article.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: It's like syndicating the content over on LinkedIn, which is a much bigger platform than your own.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: That works very well.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: You can embed videos into that blog post just the way you would if it was on your own blog.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Now, if you have a daily show, if you do Facebook Live show, if you do YouTube videos, if you do any kind of video, you can then upload that video into LinkedIn and get your audience on LinkedIn to see it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Take advantage of that.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, right now the reach that that video is getting on LinkedIn is huge, and as more and more people start to use it, it's not going to be as effective.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So take advantage.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: If you're a video content creator, you have to be using LinkedIn's video.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Upload your videos to Facebook, of course, throw them up on YouTube, and definitely put them up on LinkedIn.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Take advantage while you can.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: It's a great, great opportunity to get some free exposure.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm still kind of going through this journey, like I said, of of getting to know LinkedIn again.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: You know, like we we had a bad breakup and we've changed, you know, like LinkedIn came back to me and they're like, hey, it it wasn't you, it was me.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And we changed, and I was like, yeah, bullshit.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: And they're like, no, really, we have.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: And they showed me and I was like, oh, let's give it a go again.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Let's oh my god, this I I don't know where this is coming from today, but um, you know what I'm talking about.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: So LinkedIn and I are uh, you know, we're in the getting to know you phase once again.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Uh just learning all the nuances of it, but uh it's something that I'm putting some effort into, and I think you should as well stop ignoring LinkedIn.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: It's not the LinkedIn that it was a year and a half ago.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: It's not the LinkedIn that it was six months ago.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Now, at the end of this show, make sure you go over to MassiveAgent Podcast.com.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: On our podcast website, MassiveAgentPodcast.com, we have the show notes.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Any links to important articles or people that we've talked about, any of that, will be in the show notes as well as a written uh summary of each episode.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: There's all the past episodes are over there.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: We have a resources page where there's some discounts for you guys for certain vendors, like for websites and you know, a CRM stuff like that.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Uh go check that out.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: And that is MassiveAnPodcast.com.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: So the massive QA from Rory Pitts, a realtor up in Pewallop.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Pewallop, Washington, just south of Seattle, I believe.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Suburb.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: I don't even know if it's a considered a suburb, but it's it's down near, you know, Tacoma, Seattle.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: It's up there.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: He's uh he's a huge Huskies fan, Washington Huskies.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: He's gonna get a kick out of the he's gonna kill me.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Uh he's not a Huskies fan.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: So Rory's a Huskies fan, go Huskies.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: How would I change my social media strategy if Facebook just disappeared?
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: If Mark Zuckerberg was like, damn it, Senator, you're an idiot.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: I've had it, I have enough money, I'm pulling the plug, servers are off, peace out, good luck cleaning up this shit storm, Senator.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: If that happened, what would I do?
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: First off, not having Facebook ads would suck, but here's the deal Facebook ads are not the only game in town.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Google has a very powerful, very um effective ad platform.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: And it's they've had it much longer than than Facebook has.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Google AdWords, right?
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: And there's so many different types of Google AdWords too, not just the text ads that you see in the search engine results page.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: So Google AdWords, I would definitely jump over to Google AdWords immediately and learn the shit out of it.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Uh that's what I would do as far as and now I'm talking paid traffic right now.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I'll get to the organic stuff, uh, the everyday social media posts and content soon.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: But I would really dive into Google AdWords.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: I would dive into LinkedIn ads a little bit more and Pinterest ads.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: As a blogger and a content creator, Pinterest ads can actually work pretty well.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: I've tried them in the past to drive traffic to a moving to Salt Lake City article, and and that looked that worked pretty well.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: It was more expensive.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'm not an expert on uh on Pinterest ads the way I am, Facebook ads.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I'm sure that there was a lot of things I could do to optimize it and and have the ad perform better, but I was like, you know, my money was still better spent on Facebook ads, and that's why I focus on that.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Now, outside of pay traffic, just like everyday post and networking and you know and everything like that.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: So if if you mean like the Facebook corporation goes down, then that means Instagram's gone too, right?
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Even though Instagram's its own separate deal and Facebook just owns it, if Instagram's gone, and let's just play like it is, guys, Snapchat is gonna come roaring, roaring back.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Because all of a sudden there's gonna be this vacuum that it you know people need to fill.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Snapchat's gonna come roaring back because Instagram stories is a monster, and and now Instagram stories is a huge part of why Instagram is so big, and then Snapchat's the closest thing to that, so Snapchat's gonna be the place.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: LinkedIn is gonna be even better, and then there's dirty old Twitter, nasty little Twitter.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: Twitter's a cesspool.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: That's nice.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: I have a helicopter flying over.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: You guys can probably hear that.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I think Rory is responsible because I said he's a Huskies fan, and he can sense those things like the like a disturbance in the frickin' force, the football force.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: But you know, Twitter's still there, like Twitter isn't going anywhere, and and so I would then just focus my efforts on those.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Snapchat would be my big one.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: Um, but since Snapchat is much different than Facebook, I need something closer to Facebook, so a LinkedIn would probably be it.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing, if Facebook disappeared, something else would pop up pretty quick to replace it.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: It just would.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: That's the beauty of a free market in capitalism, right?
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Like people are gonna create what they think other people want.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Now, if Instagram was still functioning and it was just Facebook itself, just the social network, Facebook that's gone, and Instagram still functioning, I'd I'd be almost a hundred percent in in Instagram.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: With Snapchat too, of course.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: You know, and that's how I would change things.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: There would be it wouldn't like, yeah, it would suck mostly for the for not having Facebook ads anymore.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: But uh as far as like the getting content out there and everything like that, you just have to do it differently, but you can still do it on Instagram and and it's just as powerful.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: It's there's just a different language spoken on Instagram and on Snapchat.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: So you just have to learn those languages and get used to them, just the same way you did with Facebook over the last what ten years or whatever.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: So that's what I would do.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: I would I would just switch over to the the most advantageous platforms and really double down and triple down on learning the language spoken there, like the the language of those platforms, and focus on those.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Facebook's not the only game in town, even though it's the most powerful and by far the you know the the 800 pound gorilla, it's not the only game in town.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So Rory, that's your second and last question, my friend.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: I hope it was worth it.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Because you're now done with uh the massive QA, at least for the next couple weeks.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: Because you ask good questions.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: You do.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Now, if you guys have a question that you'd like answered on the podcast, go over to the Massive Agent Podcast Facebook page, send us a message, and just click the the massive QA uh little path on our chatbot.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: You can submit your question to the chatbot, and I will answer it on the show and give you a shout-out.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: So before we wrap things up, just one one last mention of the Massive Agent Society.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Guys, if you're hearing about this for the first time, or even if you've heard about it and you're like, oh whatever, Dustin's just you know pitching the society again.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: I I don't think you guys realize that as with every new member that joins, it gets that much more powerful, that much the the chance of you getting referral business, because we only allow one agent per market, which has a built-in referral network because of that, which is amazing.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: With every new agent that joins, it increases your chances of getting referrals from a group where people are generating Facebook leads like crazy.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: So if you if you want to take lead generation into your own hands, if you want to learn how to not just to how to run Facebook ads, but what type of ads to run, we just give them to you.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: It's like here, if you want to run an ad about um you know people upsizing, cool.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: If you want to run one to VA buyers, you're whether you're an agent or a loan officer, here you go, run this.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: You log in, boom, you copy, paste, copy, paste, set the ad, boom, run it, get leads.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: So if that interests you, and you're and you're tired of paying$500,$600,$1,200 a month with Zillow and Realtor.com and Trulia and all these, you know, ridiculous, ridiculous places, take matters into your own hands.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Guys, when you control, when you know how to run a specific type of ad to reach a specific type of person, you have full control over it.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: And as soon as all of a sudden maybe your business starts to dry up a little bit and you can't afford Boomtown anymore.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: If you're only spending a few hundred bucks a month on Facebook ads versus twelve hundred or eighteen hundred or whatever Boomtown is, you're gonna you're gonna be able to survive, and then you're gonna be able you're getting leads, so then you're gonna be closed more business.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So MassiveAgen Society.com, go check it out.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: It's growing quickly.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: We had a great launch over the last few weeks.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: We only officially launched April 1st.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: And I'm committed to it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Here's the change that I that I've made in my vision of the society.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I I underestimated the importance of training videos and training support for everybody.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Um, so I'm putting a like I'm gonna have a bunch of great campaigns for you to choose from, and those I'll keep updating new ones every now and then for sure.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna add a lot more training and support content.
