- 0:00SPEAKER_01: You know, something strange happens when we get our real estate license, we lose all common sense, and we get this insane amount of impatience.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: And this impatience and these fucked up expectations that we put on ourselves, which make no sense, which I'll elaborate on today, these are what is holding you back.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: These unrealistic expectations of instant success is just insane.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna dissect exactly what I'm talking about because agents are doing shit backwards.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: The massive agent podcast.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: We lead generation tips and strategies to give you more leads and sell more homes.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I love to buy houses, I like to sell houses.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: It takes brass balls to sell it.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Wait a minute.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Leads a week.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: You're weak.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I've had better, better.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Oh have I got your attention now?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Here's your host, Dustin Brome.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: What is up, guys?
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Welcome to episode 289 of the Massive Agent Podcast.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: I am your host, Dustin Brome, and uh today I'm gonna talk to you about embracing the suck.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Love that title.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Embrace the suck.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Here's the deal.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: When we get when something happens when we get our real estate license.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: So well, a few things happen.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: First of all, like your DNA changes, and then you just start thinking, must talk about real estate, and you just become this robot talking about the most boring shit in the most boring way possible.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Now, you could absolutely talk about real estate related stuff in an interesting way and have it be very valuable for the person watching or listening, but we choose not to.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: We just turn into this robot, must promote, must, you know, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: But something else happens.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: The expectations that we put on ourselves get completely fucked up.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: We we become so irrational with what we expect to happen in the time frame we expect it to happen, that this is causing a lot of agents to fail.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: The unrealistic expectations from day one is causing so many agents to fail and eventually leave the industry.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: And that sucks.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: I hate seeing that.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: So let's fix it.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, and look, we all suffer from this.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Even if you've been a successful agent, you're not reaching your full potential because of unrealistic expectations.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: So this is gonna be a good one today.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Before we get started, guys, uh, if you haven't yet already, please hit subscribe wherever you're listening, Apple, Spotify, whatever, so that you never miss another episode.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, if you love this podcast, please do me a massive favor right now.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Grab your phone out of your pocket, look at it, look at the podcast player, and leave us a quick rating or review on whichever platform you're listening on.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: The reason why is not just, you know, not just for shits and giggles.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Whenever the podcast platforms see new positive ratings and reviews, they think, okay, that's great content.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: So what do they do?
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: They show that content to new people who are not listeners yet.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: So when you leave us a review, first off, you're giving some feedback about what you like about the show, which is super helpful, but you're also helping us to reach more agents and have a bigger impact within the industry.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: So if if you've ever learned anything from the show, if I've ever brought you any value whatsoever, please give us a quick rating or review.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: And if you listen on Apple, I made it super easy for you.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Just go to MassiveAgenPodcast.com slash review, and it'll take you right there.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Takes you five seconds, 10 seconds, maybe a minute, maybe 60 full seconds if you want to leave a full review.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: And uh, I'd appreciate it.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Thank you for helping us to reach more people organically.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: It's weird how the podcast platform works very similar to the social social media algorithms.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Weird.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: When you put out good stuff and the algorithm thinks it's good stuff, it shows it to more people.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Interesting, kind of relevant.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So in August, I am doing a special training for a small group of agents, a very small group, where I'm gonna be going over two things.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: The two things that actually absolutely transformed my life, my business, my income, uh, my the the positive lifestyle, the the you know, the ability and flexibility that I have to just set my own schedule and do what I want while still knowing that I'm gonna earn a great living.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: I really boil it down to two different things.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Someone taught me the formula to effective social media content, to actually doing videos that bring business, videos that people actually watch, that they share, that will cause them to follow you.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: There is a formula to it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Doing great social media content.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: It's a formula, it's a recipe.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: And if you're missing some ingredients of the recipe, it just doesn't come out right.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: So, luckily, I was taught this formula, this recipe.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: And so that's something that I'm gonna be training on in Salt Lake in August.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Another thing that I think may be even bigger is I've learned certain exercises and techniques and strategies to just radically think bigger and to increase the belief that I have in myself, that I deserve the success that I seek, that I that I deserve the amount of income and all of that that I'm seeking.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: The mindset, uh the mindset reprogramming formula is real.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: I learned that I had to invest about 40 grand into that training.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: But there's specific activities, specific things that you can do to dramatically increase how much success you have.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: But what's crazy is because it's it's all mindset, you think it's normal.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: You're just like, uh, yeah, of course I went from selling 50 homes to 150 or you know, whatever your goal is.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's income, maybe it's you know, working, making more and working less, which is a great goal.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: But there's a formula to that as well.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: I am doing a training for a small group of agents on both of these things that nearly tripled my income.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: As soon as I learned these two formulas and implemented them consistently, I've nearly tripled my income and it's growing.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: This is what I want to teach you on.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: So to learn more about that, go to powerdayvent.com, grab a spot.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: There's actually three three different dates available.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: So pick one that works for you.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Just know because of the nature of the event, there's very, very few seats available.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Very few.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: And you know, a bunch of them have already sold.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: So if the checkout page is available, then a ticket is still available.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: So don't sleep on that.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Powerdayevent.com.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Hope to see you at that training because that is what so many of you are missing.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: And learning it in person and being able to like feel it and ask follow-up questions and practice and implement in person, that's what moves the needle.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: So, to those of you who take advantage of the opportunity, congratulations.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: It's going to be fucking powerful.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Powerdayevent.com.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: So let's talk about this concept of embracing the suck.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: Well, that can mean a lot of things, and you may be laughing about that.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: And honestly, I laughed about it too when I first when I when I first thought of that phrase, embrace the suck.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: And maybe I heard it somewhere else.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: I have no idea.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying I invented it, but like it just stuck with me.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Embrace the suck.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: In your life, there's certain areas that you just expect that it's going to take a long time to learn a certain thing.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: You just know that you're going to be bad at a certain thing for a certain period of time until you get good enough.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: And but then there's areas of business that we we completely forget that.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: So in your life, like you expect you expected to sh to suck.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: You expected to be shitty in the beginning while you were learning how to walk, while you were learning how to drive.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Like, did you get behind the wheel the very first time and you just like knew how everything worked?
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Of course not.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Were you hard on yourself after the very first time when you're like, damn it, I'm not, I'm not the best.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: I don't get it.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: No, because you know that it takes time.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Like with literally anything, with learning how to walk, learning how to talk, driving, riding a bike, uh, sex, you know, physical intimacy, that takes practice.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: It it does.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Um, and fun practice, my God.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Skiing, snowboarding, like, you know, rock climbing, anything active you do, it takes practice.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: You're not going to be great at it the first time you try it.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: But then something happens when we get our real estate license or when you get into business.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: We completely forget that shit and we fuck it all up.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: So, agents, I see all the time, you post a video or two, or maybe you do it for a week or a couple weeks, and you're like, why haven't I gotten any business?
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: You know, no shit.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Because you have to understand you're going to suck until you've practiced enough to not suck.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: So just understand that.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Embrace the suck.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Embrace that period of time where you're gonna the videos you do are gonna suck.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: You're gonna feel uncomfortable on camera.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: You're people are gonna see that you are lacking confidence, people are gonna see that you're getting tongue-tied and you feel like a fish out of water, you're just uncomfortable.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: No shit.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: You haven't done it enough yet to feel comfortable.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Same with any posts on social media.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: There's no magical social media post.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: It's not like, hey, you post the this magical post and it'll rain 12 listings this month and 42 next month.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: It doesn't work that way.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: It's the it's the consistency over time where you do you do shitty posts, then you learn, oh, that sucked.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Let's change this.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's do this and make it better.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Over time, the sucking subsides, the sucking gets less, and pretty soon you get good, and then you get better and better.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: This is I know this is not a super sexy topic, because honestly, this is not the answer that you want.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: You want there to be a magic bullet, you want there to be some secret, some hack that'll just speed it, speed shit up.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Now, there are hacks that speed shit up, absolutely.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: I just talked to you about the the the training I'm doing where I'm gonna give you my mindset reprogramming hacks and the video formula, that the formula for getting clients from videos.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Those are hacks, those speed shit up dramatically, but it doesn't work the very first time.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: You have to do those things.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Like once you're doing things the right way, you have to keep doing things the right way.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, it still takes some time.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Just embrace it.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: With any video you do, if you're new to it, you're gonna suck in the beginning.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Accept that up front.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: The reason why we fuck up and why so many agents quit doing content or they quit the industry altogether is because you you put these expectations on yourself that you're gonna get three listings after doing 10 videos because you see someone else getting a bunch of business from their videos, but you don't realize they've been practicing for four years.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: You don't realize they've done hundreds and hundreds of videos that you haven't done yet.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Same with listing presentations.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: The first time you sit in front of a seller and you're you're trying to uh you're trying to get a listing, you suck.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: I sucked.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Of course, you've never fucking done it before.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: How are you gonna be good at something you've never done before?
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: See, this is what I said in the beginning.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: It this is what I mean when I said you we completely put so much pressure on ourselves or these these unrealistic expectations that then cause failure.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: Well, what if right from the get-go, from right this second, you just say, you know what?
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna be good at doing videos in the beginning.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna be great at meditating, I'm not gonna be great at goal setting, I'm not gonna be great at talking with sellers, I'm not gonna be great at at door knocking or open houses or writing great offers.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: You're gonna suck.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: So then you do it again and you're a little better.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Then you do it again, you're a little better and faster.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: And pretty soon over time, you don't suck anymore.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: You've gotten good.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Writing great offers.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: The first time you you looked at a purchase contract, did you know all the different ways you could structure a deal to make it to make it work for your client or make it more attractive for the seller?
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Of course not.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: When you first looked at a purchase contract, you're like, what is all this shit?
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: The first bunch of times you're like, uh all this stuff, but you do it enough, and pretty soon the the six pages or the if you're in California, the 783-page contract, whatever you guys have, with all the all the bullshit thrown in there, it just makes sense because you know it intuitively, it's not overwhelming, it's not confusing because of the repetition.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: You knew you embraced the fact that you sucked at writing offers in the beginning, you practiced, you did it enough, pretty soon you got good at it.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Why do we forget that?
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: I think I think a lot of the reason why is you see the the results that others are getting and you're comparing their journey to yours, you see that they do videos super well and they're getting a bunch of business from it.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: So you think, okay, I'm gonna do video also, I should get similar results.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: No, you shouldn't.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: No, you shouldn't.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Even if you're following the exact same playbook, the exact same formula, no, you shouldn't because they're ahead of you because they've been practicing more.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: They're more confident in front of the camera, their energy comes through the camera.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: That happens through practice.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Do you think that I was this energetic and this confident in front of a camera the first time I did it?
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: Of course not.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: You guys that are in my uh in the society, in the Massive Agent Society group, or those who came to the last power day, I showed you my very first video.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: It's very cringe worthy.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: The first video I ever recorded, I think it was in 2012, 2013, something like that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: It's nauseate, it's nauseating.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: I had no confidence, I was reading from a script.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: It's a completely different person, and I look like I'm 12 years old in that video.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: But my God, what if I had stopped then?
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: What if I had done that maybe a few more times and then just thought, oh my god, I'm not getting any business from it.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: Videos don't work.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: It sounds insane, it sounds so crazy and stupid when you hear it out loud, right?
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: But these are literally the thoughts that you have inside, these are the expectations you've set for yourself because you're you're looking at someone else's uh someone else's end results, and you you're completely missing the journey that got them there.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: You think that they're you're comparing someone else's highlight reel to your journey.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Well, that's not how it works, and you know that.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Comparison is the thief of joy.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: I love that, I love that phrase, I love that quote.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: When you are comparing yourself to other people in a way that's like, you know, I wish I had this, or how come I'm not there, or oh my gosh, you know, why aren't I getting those same things?
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It's hard to have joy, it's hard to be positive, it's hard to have confidence when you're comparing yourself to other people like that.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: You just didn't see all the shit they had to go through.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: They embraced the suck for whatever period of time it took them, they had to embrace the suck too.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: And a lot of them, it took a lot longer than it's gonna take you.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: It's it took the mentors that I have, I'm able to get results faster because they've learned what not to do, and so they can help me speed up the process of getting those things.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: The people that you look up to probably had it harder than you.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: They they they had more, they had less options online, like fewer tools on social media to use.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: The technology wasn't quite as as awesome as it is today.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: The AI and AI tools is not what it is right now.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: So you actually have it easier.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: You just aren't going through the motions, you're not following the process, and you're not doing enough repetition.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: So that's what you can control is just understanding right now you're gonna suck in the beginning, no matter what it is.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Anytime you want to do something new, you have to embrace the suck.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: That suck only lasts as long as you let it.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: As long as the more practice you do, the more practice you do, the more work you do on yourself in inside, you know, the work you do, the deep work between your ears, the faster the results are gonna come, and the faster you won't suck anymore, you'll actually be great.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: And pretty soon you're gonna think that you're not quite great, but you're gonna have other people like, oh my gosh, how do you do that?
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: How did you, you know, can you give me some tips?
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: I want to get to where you're at, and you're like, What?
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Because you you just evolve, it's incredible.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Embrace the suck, guys.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: I don't quite know how else to say it, but you know when you hear me say it out loud, how ridiculous and unreasonable it is to expect that you're gonna be great at something the first few times you do it.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Anything worth having is worth doing poorly.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: One of my friends, Steve Kyle, said that anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: So just wrap your head around that, accept it, embrace it, do it poorly, suck for a while because once you don't suck anymore, the results that come from it and all the growth that happened along the way is so worth it.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: It's so worth it.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Man, I love that.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Steve Kyles, if you're listening, what an amazing quote.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Anything worth having is worth doing poorly.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Or anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Kind of says the same thing.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Incredible.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: So, guys, you know what you need to do.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: You need to adjust your expectations, you need to just adjust and re-jigger how fast you expect things to happen, and just understand that when you record that video and you look like shit and you stumbled and you don't have very high energy, and you you you look like you have the opposite of confidence, that that's just today.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: You do it again, you'll do a little bit better, and so on and so on.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: And you hate this, you hate hearing this shit.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Some of you, unfortunately, already turn this off because you you hate this answer.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: You hate hearing it.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: It doesn't make it untrue.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: You just don't want to go through it.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: So, are you someone that is willing to embrace this and just suck it up and quit being a little bitch?
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Something that's really helped me is when I catch myself talking myself out of doing something that I know that I must do, I recognize that as my my inner bitch voice, and I will literally inside my head say, shut the fuck up.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: I I make it a point in my head to tell my little bitch voice to shut the fuck up.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: My goal is to kill the inner bitch.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: It's just something that I have bouncing around my head.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: You can use whatever version of it you want, but I the power is when you recognize those limiting beliefs, you recognize you trying to talk yourself out of discomfort, you know, you're trying to keep yourself in your comfort zone, which, as you know, nothing good happens in your comfort zone.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: No growth happens.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: You know, everything you want is outside of your comfort zone.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Everything that you're seeking is outside your comfort zone.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: So are you going to accept the fact that you have to get uncomfortable and do shitty stuff for a period of time?
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: The great news is, even while you're doing shitty videos, you're still getting impressions, you're still getting views, you're still growing an audience, you're learning, you're becoming more confident.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: You you gain confidence by doing content.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: You don't wait to do content until you have confidence.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: That's not how it works.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: You want to build confidence, start putting out a video every single day.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: You will you will grow confidence over time.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: But if you're waiting until you're more confident to start doing video, I'm telling you that literally will never happen.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: That's not how it works.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: You you gain confidence by doing content.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I hope this resonated with whoever it needed to resonate with today.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: And I hope that whoever needs help in person, that you get out of your own way enough to get your ass to Power Day.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: If you didn't listen to last week's episode, episode 288, please do.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Because that is that is the roadmap.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: That is the hack.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: That is the cheat code to life and business and getting everything that you want.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: So if you're getting in your way about uh I can't because of this or that, go listen to last week's episode.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: And then make sure that you decide right now that you're gonna get your ass to Power Day.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: I was talking with someone through through DMs earlier, and they're like, you know what?
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I I don't know.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I I need a babysitter, I need to find a babysitter first.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: They're doing things backwards though.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: Have you ever noticed that when your back's to the wall and you have no other choice, that you actually do the thing?
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: So, what I learned to do through that mental reprogramming training that I took with with my wife that was like 40 grand, I learned that you have to commit first, and then because of that commitment, then you make the thing happen.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: We started doing that with uh with a trip to Cabo for, you know, EXP does a mastermind in Cabo, and the first time we're like, I don't know how we're gonna get babysitters for the kids for a week.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, how are we gonna do this?
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: So we're like, you know what?
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Let's buy the ticket.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: We bought the ticket to the event, we booked our flights, and then we figured out the babysitter because why?
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: We freaking had to, and we'd already made the commitment and the decision.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: But what most people do is they do it backwards.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: They're like, Well, I need to come up with a little extra money, I need to do this, I need to have a babysitter, I need to figure this out first before I do that thing.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: But what happens?
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: What happens every single time?
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: You never actually do that thing.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: The thing that you told yourself you're going to do, you never do.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: And you also broke a promise to yourself, and you just showed yourself that you can't be trusted.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: Therefore, your confidence is getting worse every day.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Commit, buy a ticket, buy it, book a hotel, book your flights, do whatever you need to do to commit, and then figure out how to make it happen afterwards.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: That is the way.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: That is the hack.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: So, whoever needs to hear that, there you go.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I cannot wait to work with you guys in Salt Lake in person, implementing this stuff into your lives so that you walk away as a completely upgraded version of yourself.
