- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: You are listening to the built-to-grow podcast delivering the knowledge in all things fitness business.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: We help jimmers win, hear your hosts, ten lions, and Randy Axton.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right, welcome back to the Bill to real podcast and they're host him.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: A thief James Lions joined by Randy A. So what's up, buddy?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Randall.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Randall, bonding.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: Vaughn.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so you've had your gem for ten years.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: You haven't painted the walls.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's no new equipment.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: The pricing is maybe up to a little bit over the years, but you're still kind of providing the same thing.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: Be it
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: bootcamp be it anything under the sun how much longer do you feel you can get away with that in this industry in this market in this current time frame
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: with all the competition, the newest things coming out, the, you know, these, these clubs are coming out like futuristic, they're super well put together, the equipment's, you know, the newest thing with equipment, I went to the HFA, HFA, and get that first deal there.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I went to that convention, like the half of the thing, honestly, I think
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody goes to the presentations.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: They just go to the expo.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: At the expo, it's all these equipment companies kind of like showcasing their coolest things and it's everything's futuristic.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, everything.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_04]: You're sending me pictures and something.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this gold chrome plated, you know, dumbbells.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Look, it's looks so elegant.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the plates are like, you know, one inch thick plates.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of like those giant bumper plates are like super thin and there's a metallic chrome and they, you know, it's just cool, classy.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, there's innovation happening at the equipment level.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: There's innovation happening in almost every major industry across the board.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: Look at taxis to Uber.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now look at the robotic oobers, right?
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: From Tesla just got released.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's those way-most.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's just constant innovation.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: And what's going to happen over time is the companies that don't innovate.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be long forgotten.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: And there's, you know, case study after a case study across the board when it comes to companies that fail to innovate, blackberry, blockbuster, seers, curves.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're all ancient dinosaurs now because they failed to innovate when they had the opportunity.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: If anybody had the opportunity to blockbuster.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: That story was on the wall too.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: It started with red box.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then it went to like the male version of Netflix.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: They had to mail it back and then it and obviously now we're in the streaming world.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: What's going to happen with your gym if you fail to innovate?
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: We've innovated over and over and we're constantly innovating.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: How can we do this better?
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying you need to change everything you're doing.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not willing to adopt AI, if you're not willing to adopt it, because
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you know, it's robots.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: There need humans to do the job.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you don't believe they can do it any better like you're wrong, honestly.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: McDonald's is going to robots.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everything's going to robots.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's going to AI, artificial intelligence, automation.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm trying to think of what industry won't be effected.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was, we have a friend, a mutual friend that cuts hair.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I think,
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: care cutters or whatever barbers are going to be gone.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_04]: Even with Nelson.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she needs to keep your fingers in the machine.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's going to all like everything is changing.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: So like not to say like, hey, personal training is never going to get replaced.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the programming is the programming itself anybody get but you could always get that like you could always go to YouTube and get a program like if you really wanted to or all the fitness viewers were like you know so on my program my diet plan and all the thing that's been for years like that um what what don't we think I think okay human human connection yeah literally cannot be replaced because
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I take that back.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, do you hear about that kid that had a relationship with his bot, AI bot, and then kill themselves?
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Because I completely believe it's possible.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this kid was locked in his basement all the day, you know, just talking to this robot thing, you know, Chad G. But you know, whatever it was, and the thing, like, told him to kill himself and he did.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I did hear.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, the human to human connection, that's like,
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: with AI like the emotional connection is there through the AI because you could fall in love apparently with the computer but like in person relationships I don't know man it eventually it's going to go away I don't know how I can't think of it right now but like you know everything so
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing with your delivery?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing with your product line?
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing with how you deliver the product via virtual or extra things that you can layer into your product to make it more valuable to the consumer?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: What are the things?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_04]: There's a million different ways tech is now in the fitness space, right, from SPP and having your program in front of you and being able, from variables.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, wearables, great example, right?
- 5:53[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm sure ten years ago people like that will never take off.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_04]: You know, they'll never be a thing.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_04]: People don't care about that type of stuff.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_04]: And now it's almost the norm in training, just right?
- 6:02[SPEAKER_04]: And so, I think the premise is like not looking at everything
- 6:08[SPEAKER_04]: as if it's never like you can't you have to be open-minded you have to kind of see the trend not in a way where you're putting all your eggs in the basket and you're forgetting everything that got you there or fitness that's you know the the methods that got us where we're at but how can some of those things complement what you're doing to provide a better experience for the user or make
- 6:30[SPEAKER_04]: you know, tracking easier or using data back into their programming to deliver a better result, right?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: Like all of those things, it supports what we do.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't replace sure we do in a way, right?
- 6:42[SPEAKER_04]: So, but AI is a great example.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, people, I would say that's one of the areas where people have like a hard belief left or right, you're either embracing it or you're resistant to it.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: And I think to your point, it's only going to be more and more ingrained in the daily stuff.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_04]: I remember like I was having a conversation about that about AI and just using business and using in life type of thing.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: And I always remember the conversation back in like school, you know, you're in the math class and teachers always said, you know, well, you know, you have to learn how to do the work because you're never going to have a calculator in your pocket all the time.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_04]: that cell phone has every answer to anything that we could ever come up with.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, you can learn all of that stuff or you can learn how to use the tool that's in front of you.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know your take on it, but like students using AI to answer their questions and stuff, they're not thinking.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're just clicking by copy and pacing.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: So there is going to be a dumbification.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: But there's also a
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: communication gap between generations right so like everything was done on a swipe left swipe right text message no don't nobody's calling anybody to you know like millennials and later right millennials probably is the line in the sand i think that's kind of your level but like gen X is the little bit older than you uh... that's what i am gen X and it was all about handshakes flying flying into town for a meeting yeah but shit and it's really interesting because
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: you know who's your client right our clients can be a little bit older and in like for us but like there's plenty of gym owners listen to this that that serve gen X gen C you know twenty eighteen twenty two twenty five year olds you better innovate way you know meet them where they're at because it's pretty interesting we had a interning here one of our friends from the barn and she was talking about how
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: the guys at Arizona State don't know how to communicate with her and you know she's sitting here like having great conversations with us because I mean she's at the bar and working with people all day and it was just interesting and like I'm so like interested in that that part of the of the culture it's just really weird but like at the end of the day who do you serve right so
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, it's no secret like our clients going to be, you know, born in, you know, fifty, sixty's, maybe fifty's and sixty.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: So we just put out a fifties ad, right?
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: That was kind of the graphics.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's where my mind was a little bit.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, well, maybe this will resonate with the audience that we're turning to a track anyway.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: So like, let's just throw these ads out there and it's actually working already.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's early, right?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: Our market burns out in five minutes.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing at your gym?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Are you still running the model with the old paint on the walls?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: And the gym has never been updated.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's dust in the corners and like everybody around you's innovating and becoming better.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_04]: Or that new brand moves in.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be at a Netflix or you're going to be the blockbuster.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be the sears.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be the Amazon.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: You better, I mean, the writings of the word history will repeat itself once again.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not like, you know, guys listening this with a mom and pop shop is like not like a major brand that's gonna be taking down overnight, right?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be paper cuts.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be that competitor picked off, you know, two dozen clients or a dozen clients.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then that coach leaves.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then this other thing comes out and like Peloton and like, you know, even though they didn't innovate either.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're going downhill too.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just real, real, real interesting to watch markets and industries go through the same phases and what are you going to do as a gym owner?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: You mentioned the like the generational gap or the generational differences.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: I think that it because the human element that's really apparent, right?
- 10:37[SPEAKER_04]: I saw something this weekend where it was like
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: Um, you go your average retail shop.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_04]: You walk in.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_04]: You've got your millennial.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_04]: Somebody young, something like that work in.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, anything from like, eighteen to probably twenty five, right?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_04]: But you walk up to the counter to get.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: service from them, and you the consumer feels like you're bothering them.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, right.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_04]: They roll their eyes when you come up to ask them a question like that's not their job, or you know, you're going to check out and they don't even introduce like greet you as you walk up or take your list.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: But don't, but don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: She's every day.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: She's sitting with her bot.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like she's up on the counter with her knees tucked to her with her phone in her hand.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: She's the front desk person staring at the front door.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then when you scan in, she just looks up and then goes back to whoa.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like I would fire her immediately.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: It fell leadership is really.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just that big box lifestyle, right?
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just like I see her every day.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I just like, I don't want to correct her because it's so bad.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like I kind of just want to see how far this goes.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Still there.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_04]: been two weeks but but from the consumer side right you walk in every day you you know you go through that process the difference between having the person who you walk through the door greets you hey mr. lines great to see you again today right like that's where and I think this is where some of the like the advancements like maybe we don't need to change
- 12:05[SPEAKER_04]: the way that we're interacting with maybe we just need to hold the line with some customer service and some skills at some communication.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_04]: But I think there's probably it's probably a dual edged sword right it was we think that or we put our eggs in the basket for innovation or we bring in tack we do some of these different.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_04]: additions, let's say.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_04]: We can't forget the things that actually matter as well.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: Like communicating with your clients, being able to, our buddy Matt Weaver, right?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_04]: The heaviest weight in the gym is the phone.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_04]: Pick up a phone and call your client, right?
- 12:36[SPEAKER_04]: When there's an issue, don't shoot out text messages in email.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_04]: Go to, like the face to face interaction.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_04]: Go to the great, you like the, the communication of a phone call, address the problem.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like more often than not that
- 12:50[SPEAKER_04]: that age range where the communication skills have, you know, kind of falling off.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's like they avoid problems.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_04]: You know, they're not willing to address any of that stuff.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody wants to be uncomfortable and have an uncomfortable conversation.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: True.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we can complain about it.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, bring Lindsey in here because you probably see it's our fault, some level, right?
- 13:11[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the ownership.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, accountability, we, you know, but we caused it somehow.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: The way that you, you, whatever.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_04]: Which is okay, right?
- 13:19[SPEAKER_04]: Because I mean, if in an organization, you don't sit back and you don't go, you guys aren't doing this correctly.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_04]: It's your fault and not provide an opportunity to coach them on it, right?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_04]: It is the, the almost is on the ownership and the leadership to go downhill and say, hey, this is the way you guys are doing it.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: This isn't those standard.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_04]: This isn't the way it should be done.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_04]: Let me show you how it should be done.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_04]: And then create that standard, create the expectation and hold them accountable to it.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_04]: Man, customer service is almost like a dead art at this point.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: And right, and so.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_04]: But even at that, look at everyone's got AI bots now doing customer service or handling, you know, questions on websites.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all about the optimization and in streamlining the mundane and doing it better than a human can do, all about it.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's first thing I'm looking for is like, hey, can we outbound call these leads as they come in?
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: So it's act doesn't have to.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Because he does, he calls almost every league because he can just click a button on the phone and he calls them and stuff.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, like, but maybe he's busy and we missed that one, that two, that three a day.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: They come in and we missed that call.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe a little bot might call those people and tell him, hey, this is the AI agent.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that you had an interest in a program.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to just get you to touch with whatever can ask you.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many ways you get to it.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: But that's not really the innovation I'm really thinking of with this topic.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: This topic I'm thinking about the gym.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: the delivery systems, the model itself, the equipment that you have, are you innovating or are you getting the next tech, you know, to make your clients get better results.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Are you doing that or are you just fighting change or are you just like, hey, it's this way or the highway or I built this.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not changing it because I'm, you know, type A personality.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: This is my baby.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is my thing.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's up to you.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like honestly, I don't
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Everything to me is there's no emotion.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's great point.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: No emotion built into almost anything.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll be bummed that like if I paid a lot of money to do something and then it was like, I didn't work.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be bummed.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: But like it's what the data says exactly.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: You'd be great example guys.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: I have this house that I bought for an Airbnb over here.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's a giant house.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's like
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: four million dollar house or whatever three point eight.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like I have that I have the spreadsheet.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: I know what the bottom line number is that I could do.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: But in the summertime here, it just dead isn't torn out.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: And we're getting our ass kicked like there's just no booking.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's just part of the way.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's what a hundred and fifteen degrees will do to a market, right?
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm thinking about ways to just let's just sell this and do something else.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really looking at other investments at this point.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: And my realtor brought these guys on a call yesterday for auction.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they're in an auction.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really interesting how the auction works.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's like there's no reserve, but you don't have to commit to the auction until you know the starting bids of all the bidders.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: They put it out to market here's the house gonna go on you know on auction on this date like a month in the future What's your opening bid and they come in at whatever price and we have to be okay?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: So this is where it gets really tricky It's like the opening bid most likely the guy says give me like two point eight million
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: My break even's like three point four million.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: So we got a big screen right there, right?
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, well, I, you know, right now it's in the market for three nine, I can go down to three four break even.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: So there's like four, five hundred grand worth of spread there.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: But like I have to say,
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay with this wrist tolerance that we're going to hope that it gets bit up to our least break even or higher obviously I'm not here to like, but to me I've got every data point that says I have no emotion in this deal.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have any emotion.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to problem.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to lose money.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm not attached to that house is great, but like I don't care.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a vehicle.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so like I have to look at these numbers and be like,
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is this make does this make sense and I don't have a choice to make because I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do yet.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: And he asked me like if I presented you this with five betters in the two-pointing five million, are you going to say no or yes to move forward because you have to sell it at that point.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever that ends at, that's the starting.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's the lowest.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, I don't know because I have to say, I believe you will do your job and get me to this number.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know you.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: So how do I say yes to that question on this phone call?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, well, that's a real good point.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know me.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, I'm just looking at data.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Can you, like, there's not enough data.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: You can't tell me that you're going to do it.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: And so now he's like, let me get all the data points.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is exactly what we said.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll make it y'all the data from the starting opening bid.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: The price of the house.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: How many percentage points it went up and like where are our last ten lane is going to say, yeah, get some social proof, right?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe then I can make a decision.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, man, what a what a risk, right?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: You want to take a risk to lose six hundred grand?
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, nope.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: Not not feeling like that.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: Not feeling like that.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, back to the point at hand, like when we got rid of our larger training was no emotion.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: We did kind of hold onto it a little bit longer than we wanted to, and that was kind of maybe the last episode.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: the numbers were super clear.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, there wasn't even any question.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you started this episode mentioning you like it doesn't really matter what model you're in like maybe it's group training and group training is a perfect situation right now to like if you're in a group training environment and you're not innovating, you're definitely going to be left behind.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, because you're all the innovations are coming.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it kind of has to because the competition in that arena versus semi-private or even the one on one world like the competition and group training over the last ten years, let's say, has exploded.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that
- 19:07[SPEAKER_04]: There's an old saying about it, right?
- 19:09[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, competition comes into place.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_04]: It forces innovation.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 19:12[SPEAKER_04]: You have to stand out.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_04]: You have to find what's going to put you back in that blue ocean whenever anybody else is doing this.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_04]: Right?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_04]: And it's an necessity in order to get by.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_04]: Not even to excel necessarily, but to just survive in an ultra competitive environment.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_04]: You have to be the innovator.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_04]: You have to have something unique, right?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_04]: We talk about USPs.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait to get into another episode on that.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_04]: It, dude, could you imagine just being left behind?
- 19:38[SPEAKER_04]: Because the, it's almost like paralysis, but you didn't do anything.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 19:44[SPEAKER_04]: Like most of what happens.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_04]: And it's exactly, right?
- 19:47[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have to do, you don't have to scrap the whole business and start something new necessarily, but you have to see what can I do to stand out?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: What can we do to be different?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_04]: How can we deliver, we talk about all the time, because no strategic advantage is being the second most expensive in your marketplace.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_04]: So what value can we bring to the table with what we do?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_04]: to be the most expensive in the market and to be able to stand out in that.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's no strategic advantage or being second best.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_01]: We're the second best in town.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: Second best world world second best cup of coffee.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: That'd be read of this.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: Probably it's still pretty good, but that's how you do.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: So listen guys, at the end of the day here, you got to look at your model.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: What have you been doing for the last decade, last five years, last three years, last year?
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: What are you going to do over the next five, seven, eight, ten years that is going to put you out of competition into your own market?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Market of one?
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: What are you doing?
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully that helps you guys until the next episode keep changing lives.
