- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone, and welcome to our Wellness Wednesday podcast.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: I am your host, Andrea Abert, and I am beyond thrilled to have my guest here today with you.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Chanel is going to talk to us about aging and really living with vitality in the golden years.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: We're going to talk about, you know, extending lifespan, extending the quality of life.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: We're going to even talk about the death process, which is fascinating.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: So my guest is incredible.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: She has incredible experience.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: She's a wife of 30 years, a homeschooling mom of seven, and the owner of Gull Arbor Senior Living in Richland, Michigan, where she has dedicated her life to caring for seniors with dignity, compassion, and hope.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: As a geriatric specialist and life vantage consultant, Chanel is passionate about helping people understand that it's never too late to support the body's ability to heal and thrive.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: After witnessing the challenges that come with aging and chronic illness, she spent years searching for ways to help her residents experience a better quality of life.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: That journey led her to nutrigenomics and the science behind Protandum and NRF2 activation.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: And for more than a decade, Chanel has shared her passion for empowering others to take control of their health by addressing wellness at the cellular level.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: She believes that aging doesn't have to mean simply accepting decline, and she loves educating families, caregivers, and individuals on practical ways to pursue healthier and more vibrant lives.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: When she's caring for seniors, raising her family, or speaking about health and wellness, Chanel's mission is simple to inspire hope and help people realize that it's never too late to invest in their health and live their best life.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: So that actually makes me kind of cry because I know what we're getting into.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And I have a treat for you all.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: So, Chanel, my first question for you is how did you get into senior living?
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And tell us about your history with it, how long you've been a part of it, and how long, yes, just how you got into this.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I'm actually third generation.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: My grandma started the AFCs in the area, and I lived in one growing up too.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: My mom started one in our home, and I loved, I just loved living there and being with them, getting home from school, had such great memories of, you know, doing homework at the table with them.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: And it was actually great memories.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Probably the worst part was just seeing them decline and seeing just their life not what they expected to be for their golden years, seeing forgetfulness, seeing just different diseases just kind of take over, and mental health also.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: And then, of course, the dying process was extremely hard to lose like good friends.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: They were all grandmas to me.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And so that was a really hard part for me.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I once I got out of the house at 18, I kind of, as much as I loved it, I just decided I was gonna go a different route.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I wanted to be a mom, but I wanted to work with kids and and do something more along those lines because it was just really discouraging for me.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: It's like very somber moments for me, also.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: I would imagine it's very heavy.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: That would be a good word.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Yes, very heavy.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And I was kind of ready to get out as much as I loved it.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: I was ready to do something different for sure.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: But then you got called back into it.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: So my mom continued with it, and she's so gifted.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: And my aunt, my cousins, like we, it's just all part of what we love to do.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: It's just see people being able to live in a home environment versus a nursing home environment.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: And so it was important.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: My mom continued on, and one day she did want me to take over, and I kind of entertained it, but at the same time, it was just back in my mind how I just uh didn't think it was for me because it is just I'm very relational, very connected with everybody.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: And so to see that just the ending part of their life and just the quality of life taken away was very hard for me.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: So I was ready to move on, but fast forward to my mom was continuing on and my sister got very sick, and I just kind of needed to step in a lot sooner than I thought.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: At first I was fighting it a little bit, but um I stepped in and I was kind of like, okay, I will step in, but I just can't, I can't continue to do it this way.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Like I have to find something.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: And so I was on a pursuit to find something different.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Like I believed with all my heart, I was very much butting heads with the doctor at the time that was there because she was just very med happy and just it wasn't working out.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: I wanted to find something that could actually change the trajectory.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: And so I did.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: I started researching supplements, I started researching acupuncture or just any of the food groups that I could do.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I re-hauled, totally overhauled the menu as far as, you know, organic foods and and meat.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I bought meat from a farmer that was all grass-fed.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Like I just did all of these things and nothing really changed the trajectory like I wanted it to.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: So you weren't seeing a difference even after implementing all those things?
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: No.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: No, not a big difference whatsoever.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Kind of hopeful, but yeah, not at 80 and 90.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: There's years of accumulation and stuff, and there's disease at that point.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Like it's not, it's a good time to start now.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I'm not telling you not to do that.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Definitely do that.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: I think it's great.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: But once you get 80 and 90 and you've got that disease and you've got different things, I didn't see anything change differently with just changing food or adding certain supplements.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: No.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: So let's fast forward.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Tell me how you got introduced to activation.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And I know that you you told me, you thought, and this is what our audience needs to understand.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Even Chanel thought, I think this is a little too late for my for my seniors living here.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: But she heard about activation.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Tell me about that, and tell me how you incorporate it into your life, what you saw, and then when you decided to start the seniors on activation.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I was kind of a little double-minded.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: One side of me was like, no, there's gotta be something.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: There has to be hope.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I'm a very optimistic person.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: But then at the other time, I was seeing all of like no hope, and you know, everybody not living their best.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: And so there was that too that I couldn't deny.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: I couldn't unsee, and it was my experience.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: So I ended up, we were just butting heads, the doctor and I.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: And I was just like, I just need a different approach.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: I was I was studying pharmaceutical meds.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: They got on one, they then they needed another, and they needed another, and it was just a revolving door.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I have to do something different.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: So we actually let her go.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Time I was working with or brought in a different doctor, and he was a little bit more holistic-minded.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: So I was happy with that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: And he had also just talked with a colleague of his that was a PT and was seeing phenomenal results with this product.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: And so I was very interested when he came to me.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: But at that same time, there's a part of me because I tried so many things, I thought they're just I was getting to the end where it's like there really isn't any hope.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Like this is just where where we are right now, and this is normal, and I need to accept it.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: And and so when he came to me, it was really, I had a glimmer of hope left.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: And I was so thankful for that because he started telling me these things of, you know, I studied this, I I'm just new to this also, but the research is compelling.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: And there's 33 peer-reviewed studies.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: And when he said that, that really piqued my interest because there aren't very many peer-reviewed studies on pharmaceutical meds that I had researched, and and there was nothing of that.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: So I kind of continued on and I thought, well, I'm, you know, I'm gonna study this.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I've I've been praying for, you know, an answer.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna keep studying.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: And I did, and I was very pleasantly surprised because the very first studies that I looked at was the American Heart Association and the Ohio State study, and it was the first proprietary blend they had ever studied.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And so that piqued my interest on top of that.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: I had a heart condition, and and with seven children, I delivered six of them on the heart floor of a hospital.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: And I was told that surgery was inevitable, like that was just going to be about keeping my weight down and there was, you know, doing stuff that I could do, but as I aged or, you know, different things that happened, I would need heart surgery eventually.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: And so when I read that study, I was like, well, I had hope also there.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I'm like, well, maybe I'm young enough.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: And after four months, I had a first normal EKG and I had no more heart palpitations, and it was it was crazy experience.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: I was so excited, but still in the back of my head, I'm like, well, I'm you know, half their age.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: So can this really work for them?
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: And I continued studying more, and it took me to the anti-aging association and Wall Street Journal, W Washington State University.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: And I was I was really pleasantly surprised.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: They said that it increases lifespan.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: And although that was great, I really was excited about that.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: But the goal isn't simply life.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's more life to the years.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: So I was that was in the back of my head too.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Like, okay, like it increases lifespan.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: That's great.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: And I wanted that because growing up, honestly, a long stay at an AFC once somebody comes was around 18 months.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And so yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: And you said six six to eighteen months.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Like 18 months was a long stay.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, one month, really, to 18 months.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: It could be any of that time, depending when they come, you know, as hospice and stuff like that.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: So for sure, 18 months was a long stay, and that was a full time.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I that's what I was used to all growing up, all the years that my mom owned the place.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Like we've had it now for almost 30 years.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: So that was just it was just the norm.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: That's what I expected.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: So when they said that, I thought, well, what could this do?
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: Because that was one of the things too.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: I felt like people's lives were getting cut short.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: They weren't getting their golden years.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: But I also, like I said, I wanted to increase the I want to give more life to their years also.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I love that you said like make those golden years really truly golden years and not these long suffering years of just almost to the point, and I think our audience can relate, it's it's almost like you you want them to die because you just want the suffering to end.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: And I know yes, yeah.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: And I know when am I gonna die?
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: I have no quality of life left.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: And even family members were saying, you know, they don't have any quality of life, it'd be so much better.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm thinking, this just can't be right.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: This just I really had a hard time accepting it.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: So I love that you are a person of faith, and I am I'm right there with you.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: I always believe that there's an answer.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: And I believe if you seek, you will find it.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: And so you incorporated activation into your into your home.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: And so it's been 11 years.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: So I know we want to touch on, okay, what you've seen as far as lifespan.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: I want to get into that first, and then we can talk about the quality.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: And then I want to dive into just a couple of the stories.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So, what have you seen, Chanel, just in the last 11 years that you've done it?
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: I know you saw those studies, but did you see that in in your in your seniors?
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: Everything.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: So the last study I ended on was was the Washington State one that said that this could be the the best, you know, or potentially the best therapeutic and preventative in the history of medicine.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: So I ended on that one and thought, okay, this doesn't have an age limit on it.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Like, let's go for it.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: So I did bring all my families together, told them what was happening, what I had seen, asked them if they would allow me to pay for it and see what would happen.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: And I started doing that.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: And so some of the things that I saw was definitely increased lifespan.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: We went from one month, 18 months to I have people now five, six years, some of them still going.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: That was huge for me.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: Like I have never experienced that before.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: So we've seen people need getting to go home again.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: That was huge.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: By the time somebody got to an AFC, it was not ever an option of going home again.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Like it wasn't even in my process of thinking, like, God is so good.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: He gives us more than we can imagine.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: So I was experiencing that too.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: And also, we had some people come off hospice.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Everybody went off some meds at some point.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Blood pressure meds, you know, even pain meds, you know, especially were reduced.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: All of those things.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: We had people getting their driver's license back, which was incredible.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was a good problem to have, but I had to increase my drive my driveway.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: I had to extend it because they were driving.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So they weren't stuck there almost like in a prison, but they were like they were driving.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Now not everybody got their driver's license back, but everybody, everybody in some way just improved.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it wasn't a decline.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Like and normally you see a decline in mental, you know, their cognitive test.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: And I was starting to see them take a test a year later and actually improve their test score, which never had happened before.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: So that was that was incredible too.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: I had residents that was starting to move around and feel so good.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: They were like, we want to garden.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: And so I actually had a garden made that was raised so they can pull the weeds and stuff, but they wanted to garden.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, healthy minds want to work.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: We're made to work, we're made to do stuff.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: So we had, yeah, we had some good problems that that came about that I just had to fix, but it was all things of answer to prayer for sure.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: I I I know that everyone's thinking right now, what did you put them on?
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Because we have, we have we address so many things with activation.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I know we start with the cells, and the very first product we always start people on.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: That foundational piece is Protandum NRF2.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: NRF2.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: So that's reducing oxidative stress, and we all have it.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: And it's the only thing on the planet that reduces it by 40% in just the first 30 days and 70% over the next 90 days.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: And we know that our seniors have a ton of oxidative stress.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: And so, what was it that you put them on to get them started in the beginning?
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe what are they on now?
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: So at the beginning, when NRF2 was the only thing available.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: And I'm so thankful that we're the activation company and they continued on because there was there was a need for more.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: So I started on NRF2 and saw great things.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: We had a lady with progressive supronuclear palsy, and it's a it's a very, very debilitating disease.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: And she, when she came to us, she was doing falls.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: She was had a dementia component where she couldn't remember the next morning where she was at.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: She couldn't read for herself.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: And what she was a very, very big in reading.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: So taking some of those pleasures away was really hard for her.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: She was struggling with the diagnosis, as the doctors told her, what would what was going to happen.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: You know, she'd lose all muscle tone, everything like that.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Like her probe prognosis and her future was just bleak.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: It was like everything was just going to be worse and worse, worse.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Yep, absolutely.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: And and it just it builds.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: It's progressive supernuclear palsy.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: It just is, it gets worse and worse and worse, similar to MS, similar to Parkinson's, those things.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: You know, it just declines over time.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And so when she came to us, she was already not doing well.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: And so I put her on this, and I honestly was thinking that it wasn't like I wasn't seeing any changes, I thought.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: But what I didn't realize is that she wasn't declining.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: She wasn't like it was typical that she was supposed to get worse and worse, and all of a sudden it like halted.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: And so I thought, well, is this working?
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm I'm keeping an eye on everybody because I just started this with everybody, but I was seeing things with blood pressure.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: I was seeing things with people's attitude, just their overall demeanor.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: So that was that was really good.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: I was starting to see people just feel a lot better.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: But with her in particular, it was around the six-month mark that I started seeing her actually improving.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: She was picking up a book.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: She was not falling as much.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: She was not tipsy when we'd walk with her.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: She was actually walking faster, more stable.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: And at the end of the year, she was like, I want to, I want to walk on my own.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: And she went to the neurologist, and they were surprised that she was even back, you know, for her yearly appointment.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: And they said, Well, you can't walk on your own.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: There's no cure for this.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: You know, it's not safe.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: We really want you to, you know, continue, you know, ringing the bell, walking beside someone, making sure you're cautious.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: We're not sure, like for some reason you're not progressing like everybody else, which is a great thing.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: But this is the disease.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: This is, you know, where it will take you, and there's no cure for it.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Inevitably, this is what's going to happen.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Is you're going to die and your muscles are going to lose all control, all that kind of stuff.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: They're still speaking this over to her, although she's improving.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: So then she came home and she was just defying the odds, and she wanted to walk on her own.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: So there would be a time that we would just, you know, as soon as we passed by, she would be up and rate carrying it as she walked.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: And she was just reading more, feeding herself, like anything that was just not supposed to be the case.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: And she was doing it.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: She made it all the way to a second year appointment.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: And at that point, they said, We can't explain this.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: There is no cure.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: We're not going to say you're in her mission.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: We're not going to say any of those things.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: We're just saying that there aren't any markers and that we see right now.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: But, you know, we still advise you to walk with somebody and, you know, take just take precautions in that way.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And she came home and she's like, I want to sign something that says I can walk on my own and I'll take full responsibility because I am just, I'm she's just felt so good.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: She continued on for another three years, just doing great, all the way until the morning that she died, which was so peacefully.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: It was not at all the experience that I have as a friend who had her dad that had this exact disease.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: And it was a horrible process.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: Horrible.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, he couldn't even look at anybody.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Like he lost control of his eyes, his hands, like nothing.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: He was just literally dementia component, just kind of inside his body, trapped inside his body with nothing working.
- 18:43unknown: Wow.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Do you know I want to back it up here because I'm I'm always in awe, Chanel, of what we have our hands on.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And I hope the audience understands like it is it is not a miracle pill, but it's activating our miracle body.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: And while we can't claim to treat, prevent, cure, or mitigate disease, the FDA-approved statement that we can make is that it reduces oxidative stress by 40% in 30 days.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: That's just the NRF2.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: And that, my friends, is the most powerful thing.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: That is why, you know, if that is the root cause of aging, of disease and inflammation and everything that can go bad in the body, these are just the results of reducing that and turning on that body.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: That is that is.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: And then they did a study because, like your friend, they it stopped progressing.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: So that was the initial study.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: And she said, now they're doing a study because, like your friend, there's no more markers of that disease.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: And that is a progressive one that maybe the lifespan is three to five years, and it's been about 18 years for him.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: So tell me some more of your exciting, like just stories that kind of make your brain go, wow, this is amazing.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Well, some of the things that are really dear to my heart is that I I love it when people can stay home longer.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Like that's the biggest thing when I see somebody come to an AFC, and it's their biggest thing that they grieve over is losing their home and their freedom and all of that.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: So it's become like an answer to prayer and the fact that I get people home again.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: And I had that has not been my experience ever before.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: So I had somebody that came to me and was like from rehab, and they were saying she is not gonna get better.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: You know, we've done everything.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: She's been in rehab now for six weeks, she's not improving.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: And fast forward, this is this is several years later.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: So activated collagen was out now.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: They're like, she's just not gonna walk again.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: She's not going to.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: She had a surgery actually to even fix her spine, and it was all the way down.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: She wasn't healing from that because she wasn't able to move.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: So she's laying on her back, too.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: It was it was bad.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: So they came to us and I was just like, let us see what we can do.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Like, don't get rid of our apartment yet.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Just hang on a second.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: And so we started the NRF two.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: We also started the NRF one for mitochondrial, and we started that activated collagen.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: And within two weeks' time, she was completely healed.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Her surgery was healed.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Even the nurse at our senior living home was amazed at how quickly that healed.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: And then she just started moving without pain and just just it was walking, taking steps.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: So we went ahead and got OT and PT back on, and they started with her.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: And within two more weeks, they were like, She can go home.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: Like, this is this is crazy.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: And that's not the first person.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: We've seen someone last year, even that they they said, you know, she's not gonna get better, she's Probably going to die of pneumonia now.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: You know, she fell, she had fractured her hip a little, just a small hairline fracture, but she was just not getting better and the pain was excruciating.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: So they came to us and they just wanted to chalk her up to let's start meds going on her.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: You know, she's gonna die of pneumonia in bed.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: I couldn't get a PT to actually help me.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: They were looking at her and they were seeing with their own eyes what they know to be true.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, I know what's not what's to be true also because I've had this experience now.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: So I was just trying to get a PT on board that would help me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: And finally I found one that said, you know, I don't disagree with the what these other PTs are telling you as far as she's not gonna improve or it very, very unlikely.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: And she, you know, will probably die within a few weeks of pneumonia and other things because she can't pivot, she can't move any of these things.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: So I said, well, just let me do what I know to do, and you go ahead and and do you know what you know to do.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: And so we worked together and within a week's time, she was not taking pain meds anymore, which then helped her be able to move and stay alert a little bit more.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: And she was able to function with PT and do PT.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: So she started standing and pivoting.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: The family was absolutely blown away, and she started taking steps.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: Her husband was amazed.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: He was so excited because he just kind of was listening to what the doctors and the PT were saying and just preparing himself to lose his wife.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And we did not see that.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Within 30 days, she was up walking, doing steps, like totally back to normal.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: She was walking down the driveway with him and all of these things.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Actually, they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary just a week ago.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: From her, it was so cool.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: We have a video on our Gall Arbor Facebook page of them, you know, getting a cake and him making the most tender speech to her, and it was the most beautiful.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: And the thought that that would have been taken away.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, we see those things.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: Chanel, I just turned off my video just so we get a better recording so I don't go out.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: But tell us about the man on dialysis because I think that story just blows my mind.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had a man that came to us on dialysis.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: He had been on dialysis for several years, actually.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: And I, like I said, I hadn't had that experience before.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: But at this point, I'm just like, we're not treating a certain disease, we're reducing stress oxidation and letting the cells do their part.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: So at that point, I'm like, everything's possible.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: So I started him on this NRF2, and he continued doing dialysis, but he had not, he had not urinated in a really long time.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: And all of a sudden, we were having wet sheets, and it was like, what's going on?
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: And my daughter was working as a dialysis nurse at the time.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Mommy was probably sweating, you know, or something like this.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no, I'm telling you, it was urine.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: And so he actually went to dialysis, and she was the nurse at the time that hooked them all up, and he actually urinated in the chair that he was in.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: And that she was like, I cannot believe this.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: This is crazy.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: And his kidney function was actually improving.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: So that was a huge, huge thing too.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Where now I'm like, you know what?
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: I don't care what disease you throw at, if it's rooted in stress oxidation, which most of them are, like, I'm gonna start this and see what the possibilities are.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: And I have been, I have been shocked and pleasantly surprised for 10 years now, 11 years now.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: Chanel, so tell them how long it was that he peed, because I I always say it's long time is is it's all about your perspective and it's all relative.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: But I was like, for me to not go pee, four hours would be long.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, we're talking weird.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: We're talking sounds.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: That is so on dialysis, yeah.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: So, and he had not had that ability.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Now I I would love to kind of get into the death process, the dying process, because I feel like these are things that happen behind closed doors.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: We tend to not talk about it.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: And I feel like it was that way with birth.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And I I don't know if we mentioned it earlier in the interview in our podcast, but you were actually giving birth to your first six children in the heart floor of the hospital because of your heart condition.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: And after activation, you were able to have a home birth with your last baby.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Yes, I did.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: And you were able to experience what it's like to have a home birth.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: And that is how all of our ancestors delivered their babies.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: It was at home, it was with caring women, it was in the same loving and nurturing environment that the baby was created and conceived.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And it's such a beautiful process.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: And I I had the experience of, you know, having a C-section with my first son in a hospital and then going back and having the rest of my children at home.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: And I've fallen in love with this other way, this way that we were actually designed and the way we were, we, it was meant to be.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: And it's that whole mind, body, soul.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: We were designed to do this.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: And I feel, Chanel, that the death process is something that we have to learn how to do again because we close the doors behind it.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: So can you just share with us like what does the death process normally look like prior to activation?
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: And what were you seeing?
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: And then what you what you saw after?
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely struggled with the death process because it's just not what I felt like it just wasn't normal.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: And like you said, I am a woman of faith, and what I was seeing in scripture was not what we experience nowadays and what has come.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: So a normal process nowadays is, you know, filling up with inflammation, filling up with fluids, needing secretion drops to dry those um secretions up as you're gurgling.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: And like I know this sounds horrible and people don't like to talk about it, but the pain, morphine on board, where even the slightest touch can sometimes just cause so much pain in somebody, let alone needing to change them and keep them clean.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: And it was it was excruciating to watch, and they could linger from days to weeks like that.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: So it was it was horrible.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: It was my least favorite thing of the job, but wanting to do a a you know a good job, obviously, and keep them comfortable, but it was just normal.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Like when the rest of them got on board, they brought in morphine, they they brought in the whole kit, the larazzepan, the secretion drops, like the whole kit is what's normal.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: And also you were saying that because they are on so much morphine, their their cognitive function isn't there.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: And they're not able to speak to their relatives or sit with them.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: They're experiencing.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that's the goal.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: The goal is to sedate them so that you keep them comfortable.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, they're literally I've had black eyes before sitting next to somebody who's just, you know, just thrashing and and punching and and just full of anxiety.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: And it's it's yeah, it's not fun at all.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: And then what is your experience?
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: And you guys, I I what is your experience with activation when when you've incorporated activation and now you're starting to go through that dying process where it's time to say goodbye?
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: What what what have you seen in your 11 years of incorporating activation in your home?
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: It's the dying process that I can accept.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: People just even will go back to Dolores, like it was supposed to be an agonizing, horrible death process.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: And literally the morning that she died, she just didn't feel like eating breakfast.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: That's kind of what we normally see is you know, this doesn't stop you from aging.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: You're going to age, but you're going to age slowly and with dignity.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: And it just causes she got up in the morning, she asked for breakfast, or she asked for no breakfast, she wasn't hungry, which is typical.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: We see people sleep more, we see people not want to eat as much.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: And then they just slowly pass.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: But what we're seeing right now is people are staying cognitively able to talk, awake, alert.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: We just know that they're declining just by sleeping more, eating less.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: But that's kind of what we see.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: And when hospice gets on board, you know, they they're always like, we need to get ahead of this, you know, we don't want to play catch up, you know, all these kind of stuff.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, it's it's just not needed.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: We're it's not going to be the case here.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: And so they are always shocked too.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: They're like, what in the world?
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: That was such a peaceful passing, you know.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: And it's just, it's time and time again.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: It's just repeatedly that, you know, we had one guy that was singing hymns with his family minutes before he passed.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Dolores like asked for no breakfast.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: She just wanted to sleep a little bit longer and passed while she was sleeping.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: It was just so peaceful.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: I kind of describe it as the biblical death that I kind of expect and and want myself.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: And and you were saying that you've had some of them even be able to describe their last moments or like what was happening.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, absolutely.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: They can tell us what they see and they can, yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: I feel like those last moments of a final choice that you have is not taken from them.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: We're not sedating them.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: And there are many that receive Christ right there on their deathbed because as the body dies, the spirit becomes more alive, and the things that they see, like you cannot do this business for 30 years and not know that there's a heaven and a hell, and Jesus is always pursuing us till our last breath.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: And there are many that were able to receive Christ right on their deathbed because they were able to talk, because they were able to see something, because somebody was sitting right beside them and walking them through it.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Chanel, I am like in tears right now.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: And every time I see the car, it is the most beautiful thing.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: And it's also that is that is God's design.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: And what we're talking about is just herbs.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: We're talking about herbs in a in a low dosage, in a synergy that is turning on our miracle body.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: And this, these are the results that Chanel is seeing with aged people in our home.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: So we are exactly at the half hour mark.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Chanel, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming on today and just inspiring everyone.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: I hope that for all our listeners that you share this podcast with anybody in your life, anyone who's aging, you know, send it to them because it's so much hope.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: And and and get yourself on this because, you know, how it's even better if you can be activated, you know, for a longer period of time.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: I totally believe if people can get on this early enough, especially that it could change when they needed an AFC or if they needed an AFC, which is wonderful in and of itself.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: Just being able to stay home longer.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: Chanel, thank you for pouring into us today.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Everyone, have an awesome week and stay activated, my friends.
