- 0:28Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to another imperfect marketing brief Today.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm going to start off with the tale of Kendra the marketer without a marketing plan.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Kendra had tons of clients when it came to turning businesses and their marketing into landmarks, building their businesses, growing their donations if they're a nonprofit.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Whatever it took SEO, social media, fund, development, you name it Kendra was the marketing expert that people sought for wisdom.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Here's the ironic twist Kendra was so swamped with elevating other businesses she completely overlooked her own.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It was like the proverbial saying the cobbler's kids have no shoes.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Except in this case, the cobbler was Kendra and the shoes were a well-crafted marketing strategy and execution.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Day in and day out, kendra juggled client meetings, campaign launches and ungodly amount of coffee or tea or Diet Coke.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'll focus on my own marketing tomorrow, she'd promised herself, as she pulled another long day for a client's project.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But, as we all know, tomorrow has a sneaky habit of turning into next month, and next month has a way of becoming next year.
- 1:47Speaker 1: One fateful day, kendra opened her analytics dashboard and was greeted by a growth chart flatter than a pancake, because she was stagnating.
- 2:01Speaker 1: This was Kendra's wake-up call.
- 2:04Speaker 1: She was the chef who never cooked at home, the gardener with a wilting garden, the motivational speaker who needed a pep talk.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So Kendra did the only sensible thing.
- 2:13Speaker 1: She became her own client.
- 2:15Speaker 1: She overhauled her website, initiated email marketing campaigns and even started a podcast called Imperfect Marketing.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Slowly, the tides began to turn.
- 2:26Speaker 1: New clients started trickling in.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Captivated by her self-marketing savvy, kendra couldn't help but laugh at the paradox of it all.
- 2:35Speaker 1: She had become her own success story.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And that's how Kendra learned a priceless lesson being a marketing expert is fantastic, but you can't forget to sprinkle some of that genius and expertise on your own business, because even the experts need a little self-love in the marketing department.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Okay, that's a story.
