- 0:31Speaker 2: Hello everybody, Welcome back to she Rises another Wednesday episode.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We're so excited to be in your ears.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And today it's a beautiful topic. We're talking about how
- 0:37Speaker 2: to be both soft and strong at the same time,
- 0:41Speaker 2: because I think there's this belief that if you're too
- 0:44Speaker 2: soft and too feminine, you won't get anything done, or
- 0:46Speaker 2: you won't be able to say no. All the other way,
- 0:48Speaker 2: if you're too assertive and strong and hard, that you
- 0:52Speaker 2: can't be soft and inviting and flowy and all that beautiful,
- 0:57Speaker 2: juicy energy that we all know and love when you're
- 0:59Speaker 2: in your feminine.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I think it's interesting as well because it's almost like
- 1:02Speaker 1: this belief that you can only be one way, yeah,
- 1:05Speaker 1: only one thing, Like you're either super in your masculine energy,
- 1:08Speaker 1: you're super in your feminine you're super flowy, So we
- 1:10Speaker 1: want to have that conversation today to help you kind
- 1:12Speaker 1: of balance those energies out and to really anchor into
- 1:15Speaker 1: how you can be both assertive but also be strong
- 1:17Speaker 1: and soft as well.
- 1:19Speaker 2: When you can blend both. You were so powerful. I
- 1:22Speaker 2: had this one girlfriend who lived in Vegas. She was
- 1:24Speaker 2: called the Ladies Coach on Instagram and Nam's Crystal Fointees,
- 1:28Speaker 2: and I was just always so drawn to her, And
- 1:31Speaker 2: now I can understand why, So let me explain it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: I met her at a Tony Robin's event, and yet energetically,
- 1:37Speaker 2: I just like felt this pull of wanting to talk
- 1:39Speaker 2: to her, But I also felt really intimidated by her
- 1:42Speaker 2: because I just put her on a pedestal. Everything we're
- 1:44Speaker 2: about to talk about she was that. She was the
- 1:47Speaker 2: most fiercely strong, powerful, opinionated, not even loud, but her
- 1:53Speaker 2: energy felt really big.
- 1:55Speaker 1: It was like a bold energy.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Bold that's a good word. But then at the same time,
- 2:00Speaker 2: she had this softness where you just felt safe and
- 2:04Speaker 2: you could tell her anything and you trusted her immediately.
- 2:06Speaker 2: But like I could unload and ask for her advice,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and I always was confused. Now I've got more awares now,
- 2:12Speaker 2: but confused of how you could be both because I
- 2:14Speaker 2: think I was running more on the masculine and strong
- 2:17Speaker 2: get shit done. I've got everyone, and I can take
- 2:20Speaker 2: care of everyone financially or help them with their work.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I was more on that side. But to see someone
- 2:25Speaker 2: be able to do both and blend them at the
- 2:28Speaker 2: same time, I was like, hell, and there's not many
- 2:31Speaker 2: women that I have met in my life that can
- 2:33Speaker 2: do both of that. I feel like I either have
- 2:35Speaker 2: women that are quite in their masculine and their hustle
- 2:38Speaker 2: eraror and like getting shit done, or they're the other
- 2:41Speaker 2: way and they're super flowy and feminine, but they're almost
- 2:44Speaker 2: too far that way that they're not getting stuff done
- 2:46Speaker 2: and they're they're feeling frustrated they're not getting stuff done
- 2:49Speaker 2: and you know, being taken advantage of or can't say no,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and they're wanting to be a people pleaser. But someone
- 2:54Speaker 2: that can blend both is so beautiful, And that's been
- 2:57Speaker 2: a goal of mine, is how can I bring both
- 2:58Speaker 2: of those in? And I think there is skill to it.
- 3:01Speaker 2: There is, there's a lot of skill and awareness around it.
- 3:03Speaker 2: So let's talk about it. So I think we need
- 3:06Speaker 2: to challenge the belief. I've got these notes, want to
- 3:08Speaker 2: read it out, challenging the belief that's strength equals hardness
- 3:11Speaker 2: and softness equals weakness. That's not true.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's so interesting, hey, because it's like when you
- 3:16Speaker 1: are more like the hardness, it feels a little bit
- 3:20Speaker 1: like rigid almost, Yeah, rigid, Like you almost are like
- 3:23Speaker 1: a fortress where like emotionally you're not super connected to
- 3:27Speaker 1: yourself and maybe a lean more like logical and you're
- 3:30Speaker 1: really in your head and you're making logical decisions, but
- 3:32Speaker 1: you don't feel as connected to your central feminine flow,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you know. But it's almost like you have to be
- 3:38Speaker 1: rigid and firm and super strong on your boundaries and
- 3:41Speaker 1: there's almost like no adaptability.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Flexibility, no fluidity.
- 3:45Speaker 1: H I never get that right, And I think that's
- 3:47Speaker 1: a really interesting thing what you mentioned before, Like a
- 3:49Speaker 1: lot of women really do get stuck in that, whether
- 3:52Speaker 1: it be in relationships, whether it be trying to step
- 3:54Speaker 1: into a more sea or role in their work and
- 3:57Speaker 1: their careers. Because we do have to operate in that energy,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but it doesn't mean you have to be that all
- 4:02Speaker 1: the time. No, And I think that's what you're talking about.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It is like learning how to build that skill of
- 4:06Speaker 1: being able to switch from that more masculine energy to
- 4:10Speaker 1: feminine energy.
- 4:11Speaker 2: There's a time and place for both, and it is
- 4:13Speaker 2: about feeling into when the right time is to be
- 4:16Speaker 2: in both energies as well. I know when I'm at work,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I feel like we she rises, it's different. I feel
- 4:20Speaker 2: we blend both really well. We are very flowy and
- 4:23Speaker 2: feminine and it's very from the heart and we've got
- 4:26Speaker 2: a big purpose in it. But we also have things
- 4:28Speaker 2: that have deadlines, we have things we need to get done,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and both are led really well. But I think previously
- 4:32Speaker 2: in business, I've been all of my masculine and then
- 4:35Speaker 2: when I close down Baseline and I wanted to slow
- 4:38Speaker 2: down and focus on my health. Even actually, when I
- 4:40Speaker 2: had Baseline, I felt like I was separating the energies.
- 4:43Speaker 2: At work, I was masculine. Once I came home, I
- 4:45Speaker 2: was feminine. But I like blending both. Even being parenting,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I feel like it's quite masculine. These little people are
- 4:52Speaker 2: relying on you to survive. You have to be on
- 4:55Speaker 2: all the time. But bringing a feminine flow into the
- 4:58Speaker 2: way that your parent is really beautiful. You can be
- 5:00Speaker 2: strong and have boundaries with your children, but you can
- 5:02Speaker 2: also do it in a really soft, loving, fluid way.
- 5:06Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be one way or the other.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And that's why I'm trying to blend that in all
- 5:09Speaker 2: areas of my life. So in my relationship, I'm strong
- 5:11Speaker 2: on my boundaries. I know what I want, I'm very
- 5:13Speaker 2: clear on that, but I deliver it in a really
- 5:15Speaker 2: soft tone. Now I deliver it in a way that's
- 5:17Speaker 2: bringing us together and it's connecting, not rules of like
- 5:20Speaker 2: this is how you have to be.
- 5:21Speaker 1: You have to change.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yes, it's your fault. I'm over here, you know, on
- 5:25Speaker 2: my high horse. It's it's like blending both in there.
- 5:27Speaker 2: And that's what I've always really admired with Crystal is
- 5:30Speaker 2: how she's done that.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Beautiful. Let's explod I want to explore this a little bit.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So like when you were mentioning Baseline and the difference
- 5:36Speaker 1: between She Rises and Baseline, what do you think is
- 5:39Speaker 1: the difference between how you show up now versus how
- 5:42Speaker 1: you should have then?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yes, I felt like with Baseline, I felt so much
- 5:46Speaker 2: weight on my shoulders and it was very like numbers driven,
- 5:50Speaker 2: like we had to be selling a certain amount of clothes.
- 5:53Speaker 2: We had to be hitting numbers to pay the wages
- 5:55Speaker 2: and to get things done. And yes, there was the
- 5:58Speaker 2: creativity of the clothing. And I loved the marketing and
- 6:01Speaker 2: the storytelling and putting meaning behind the word baseline. I
- 6:06Speaker 2: want a women wore baseline to when they put the
- 6:08Speaker 2: clothes on, to think about where their baseline was in
- 6:10Speaker 2: all areas of their life, especially their health and fitness,
- 6:12Speaker 2: and where can they raise it. There was still story
- 6:14Speaker 2: and purpose behind it, but I felt as the business
- 6:16Speaker 2: went on it was like once we hit one goal,
- 6:18Speaker 2: it was like onto the next, and it kind of
- 6:20Speaker 2: lost that feeling of what the purpose of it was.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Whereas with She Rises, I think it started off with
- 6:26Speaker 2: such a passion project. It still feels like that because
- 6:29Speaker 2: it's so heart led. Like when we do any project,
- 6:32Speaker 2: even the physical product we've got coming out, our live events,
- 6:35Speaker 2: our mini events, our retreat it's so heart led. It's like,
- 6:38Speaker 2: how do we make impact on this? How do we
- 6:40Speaker 2: bring connection? How do we make this more expansive, how
- 6:44Speaker 2: do we make this more fun? Any tasks that we
- 6:47Speaker 2: have to do that we're like, oh, who don't want
- 6:48Speaker 2: to do this? How do we make this more playful.
- 6:50Speaker 2: We're gonna put music on, We're going to have this
- 6:52Speaker 2: little dance, we're going to film with tiktog the I'm
- 6:54Speaker 2: gonna get stuck into this.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And get it done.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It's heart led, it's purposeful, and it's a lot of
- 6:58Speaker 2: play and fun. But we're still getting shit done and
- 7:00Speaker 2: we hit our deadlines and we're achieving goals and we're
- 7:02Speaker 2: doing all of that. So I feel like the blend
- 7:04Speaker 2: is just so beautiful. It feels it comes from a
- 7:07Speaker 2: different place. Yeah, Yeah, that's so beautiful it is. I
- 7:10Speaker 2: feel like it makes a whole lot of difference when
- 7:12Speaker 2: it is heart led.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And with that other role, it was like, maybe yes,
- 7:16Speaker 1: there was a still purpose and really deep intention in this.
- 7:19Speaker 1: But I feel like this last year for you especially,
- 7:21Speaker 1: has been really about coming into what feels really good
- 7:23Speaker 1: for you and making sure that you are living a
- 7:26Speaker 1: life that you were proud of and doing the things
- 7:27Speaker 1: that you want to be doing. Whereas, like with Baseline
- 7:29Speaker 1: and running a team, that was a very masculine thing
- 7:31Speaker 1: for you, but it wasn't necessarily what you wanted to
- 7:34Speaker 1: be doing or love doing. Is like running a team.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I wanted to grow the business and then when
- 7:38Speaker 2: I went through all the transition of my brain surgeries
- 7:40Speaker 2: and everything, I was reflecting and thinking, I'm like, for
- 7:43Speaker 2: what growing it? For what? And I couldn't answer it. Yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 2: what to get a bigger team, to get more money,
- 7:49Speaker 2: to be one of the biggest brands out there? For what?
- 7:52Speaker 2: What does that bring me? It doesn't bring me more
- 7:53Speaker 2: happiness in my home. It doesn't make my heart grow bigger. Yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 2: it made impact, but not in a way that I
- 7:58Speaker 2: knew I wanted to, or I knew that could really
- 8:01Speaker 2: impact women's lives like close are great and they make
- 8:03Speaker 2: them feel confident, And I don't regret any of it.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I love it. But it's so different to how this feels.
- 8:07Speaker 2: This feels from a really strong feminine space of leadership
- 8:12Speaker 2: and softness all in one.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And so would you say that doing things from a
- 8:16Speaker 1: place of purpose and really finding things that light you
- 8:19Speaker 1: up helps you anchor more into your feminine It.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Does, But there's strength in that feminine. It's not the
- 8:25Speaker 2: wishy washy Yeah. I don't know how to say.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It's both.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's both.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Did you say when you are passion lead, purpose driven? Heart?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Lad, it's both energies combined and that's why it works.
- 8:36Speaker 2: That's why it works. You just hit the nail on
- 8:37Speaker 2: the head. This wouldn't work if it was all in
- 8:40Speaker 2: our feminine We weren't honoring our masculine energy because it
- 8:42Speaker 2: wouldn't get anything done.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yet, would you just sitting around in pink track? He's
- 8:45Speaker 1: doing ithing?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Literally, And if it was all led by masculine women,
- 8:47Speaker 2: wouldn't connect and feel our purpose and our softness and
- 8:50Speaker 2: feel safe to bring in their best to your advice
- 8:53Speaker 2: and to ask us questions and to trust us to
- 8:54Speaker 2: pay three thousand dollars to come to a retreat in Bali.
- 8:57Speaker 2: That's why this works. That's why we're doing all the
- 8:59Speaker 2: things we're doing. That's why it's been so effortless. That's
- 9:03Speaker 2: why I haven't heard it worded like that. That feels really.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I love that.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the conversation.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah it was. Don't you agree. That's why it works
- 9:10Speaker 2: because both energies are blended so goodfully, I'm lost for work.
- 9:13Speaker 2: This is an internal conversation that we probaly should have
- 9:15Speaker 2: had behind closed doors, but it's just let us Sofia.
- 9:18Speaker 1: This is what I love. I love the off the
- 9:20Speaker 1: cusp of conversations that's where you get the most raw
- 9:23Speaker 1: of what we talk about day to day. And it
- 9:25Speaker 1: is true because when you are heart led, it makes
- 9:27Speaker 1: being in your masculine easier, and it makes being in
- 9:29Speaker 1: your feminine softer. It makes you crave to be in
- 9:32Speaker 1: your feminine more. But the more that you integrate your
- 9:35Speaker 1: masculine energy, which is your structure, your responsibility, being consistent,
- 9:39Speaker 1: your discipline, showing up for yourself, a love it evil
- 9:42Speaker 1: for yourself, yes, right, creating your internal liability. You create that,
- 9:47Speaker 1: And I'm mimicking my hands right now to create like
- 9:49Speaker 1: a container. When you create that masculine wall, in that foundation,
- 9:53Speaker 1: your feminine flows within that and all you want to
- 9:55Speaker 1: do is wear little pink butterfly clips and wearing outfits
- 9:58Speaker 1: and you really feminine life.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It feels good. And isn't that the beautiful thing in
- 10:02Speaker 2: a relationship too, When there's both the masculine, femine and
- 10:05Speaker 2: polarity and both of them flow, Oh my god, that's
- 10:08Speaker 2: magic because you need both. You need both.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's the yin and the yang energy.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And it's not saying a masculine is all in. The
- 10:14Speaker 2: masculine and feminine all and the feminine both need both
- 10:16Speaker 2: energies to be able to flow them all in together.
- 10:18Speaker 2: It's like this beautiful dance.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, even in relationships, a man can only meet
- 10:24Speaker 1: a feminine to the degree he's met his own feminine key,
- 10:27Speaker 1: So he can only hold your emotions, Steve right, he
- 10:30Speaker 1: can only hold your emotions to the depths that he's
- 10:32Speaker 1: held his own emotionally. And then for the woman, it's
- 10:36Speaker 1: you can only meet him intellectually to the degree that
- 10:39Speaker 1: you know you haven't met yourself intellectually, or that you
- 10:42Speaker 1: can meet yourself in your own logic, and that's the balance.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I love it.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Such a good, cool conversation. This is a really cool
- 10:50Speaker 1: conversation to have in terms of relationships because when a
- 10:53Speaker 1: woman is in her healthy masculine and it is rooted
- 10:57Speaker 1: in being able to voice boundaries, to be able to communicate,
- 11:01Speaker 1: to be able to stand up for what she believes in,
- 11:04Speaker 1: or voice behavior that she doesn't like, but does it
- 11:07Speaker 1: in a really soft way. I feel like that is
- 11:10Speaker 1: what creates the polarity in a relationship, right, because when
- 11:13Speaker 1: you are too soft in a relationship, it's so easy
- 11:15Speaker 1: for you to be walked all over. Then when you're
- 11:17Speaker 1: too hard in a relationship, then the polarity dies and
- 11:20Speaker 1: little bit connection to Yeah, because there's no room for
- 11:23Speaker 1: the man to be masculine. Yes, because you're taking on
- 11:25Speaker 1: that role. And so I just think it's a really
- 11:27Speaker 1: beautiful conversation to be able to have to learn how
- 11:30Speaker 1: to do that, and you have to be willing to
- 11:32Speaker 1: push the edges of what feels comfortable, especially as a woman.
- 11:35Speaker 1: We're so familiar and so used to tiptoeing and walking
- 11:39Speaker 1: on eggshells and being skinned.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Like everyone'm happy put everyone else for us, Please keep
- 11:43Speaker 2: the harm and be the piece maker. Yeah, Yeah, be
- 11:45Speaker 2: the peace maker. We don't want to create conflict or
- 11:48Speaker 2: to be combative or to challenge people. But I think
- 11:52Speaker 2: that's a really necessary part of the journey. Like we
- 11:54Speaker 2: have to be willing to stand in that, and that
- 11:56Speaker 2: comes from a place of self respect. It does, because
- 11:58Speaker 2: it's being strong in who you are, but doing it
- 12:01Speaker 2: in a really feminine way. That's exactly right. You're still strong,
- 12:04Speaker 2: you're not weak for how boundaries and being strong, but
- 12:06Speaker 2: you're doing it in a soft, feminine, safe way.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because you can be strong, but you don't have
- 12:12Speaker 1: to be rude. Yes, you can be strong, but you
- 12:15Speaker 1: don't have to be disrespectful. Yeah, exactly. This is the
- 12:18Speaker 1: conversation that kind of needs to be had because I
- 12:19Speaker 1: think people correlate being strong with being combative, disrespectful, rude,
- 12:25Speaker 1: too much, too cold, selfish, all of those negatives. Yes,
- 12:29Speaker 1: when actually it's not that at all. It's just the
- 12:30Speaker 1: way that you approach the situation a having situation.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And that's done in a tone. Also your body language.
- 12:36Speaker 1: As well everything. Yeah, how kind you are, how self
- 12:38Speaker 1: you are, how respectful you are of that person moment there. Okay,
- 12:42Speaker 1: I just want to have a conversation. Can we do
- 12:44Speaker 1: this together? Yeah, as opposed to you did this and
- 12:46Speaker 1: you did that, like is different. You're going to have
- 12:48Speaker 1: a very different experience.
- 12:50Speaker 2: That's beautifully said. Something else too, that we've got written
- 12:52Speaker 2: down here, softness makes us quote unquote too emotional. We've
- 12:56Speaker 2: been taught to tough enough if you want to be
- 12:58Speaker 2: taken seriously. I think this is really true in this
- 13:00Speaker 2: day and age too, when we're trying to be CEOs
- 13:02Speaker 2: and boss babes and take lead. When we do that,
- 13:06Speaker 2: it comes at the cost of suppressing our feminine energy
- 13:10Speaker 2: and ignoring our intuition. Then we get resemful and we
- 13:13Speaker 2: don't feel happy and we don't feel fulfilled because we've
- 13:16Speaker 2: been taught that to be that certain way, we have
- 13:18Speaker 2: to like push aside what truly feels right fast.
- 13:21Speaker 1: That's so true, isn't it. It is, And it's a
- 13:23Speaker 1: really hard thing to do, being the CEO, being the hustler,
- 13:26Speaker 1: being there. But then it's like neglecting.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Rest exactly at what costs.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I'm not allowed to rest or If I rest, then
- 13:32Speaker 1: I'm lazy or I'm trying to be in the very
- 13:35Speaker 1: sea or driven energy. It's like, well, now there's no
- 13:37Speaker 1: space in that, and you completely shut that out entirely, and.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You create a story that if I rest, then I'm
- 13:41Speaker 2: not going to get everything done, so then I won't
- 13:42Speaker 2: be successful. Then I won't be able to be this
- 13:44Speaker 2: year boss, babe.
- 13:45Speaker 1: It's so true. Such a spiral, isn't it.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You're spiraling to burn out? Yeah, good to anyone.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Especially it'll come around every four weeks when your period
- 13:53Speaker 1: comes away the silent very strongly.
- 13:57Speaker 2: We literally are going to get someone on to talk
- 13:58Speaker 2: about different phase of our cycle, because holy molly, it's
- 14:01Speaker 2: the conversation.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It's so important.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Where your core out first. Probably most of you in
- 14:07Speaker 2: your feminine. But where's it showing up and is it
- 14:09Speaker 2: showing up in a positive way or a negative way?
- 14:11Speaker 2: Are you able to blend them both? Or do you
- 14:12Speaker 2: feel resistance when we say any of this, And if
- 14:15Speaker 2: you feel any resistance or any triggers and be like,
- 14:17Speaker 2: oh no, that's not right for me or whatever, like,
- 14:19Speaker 2: explore that because there's something there for you, because there's
- 14:21Speaker 2: something there for all of us when we talk about this.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I want to go home and journal on it and
- 14:25Speaker 2: see what else comes up for me.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I would love to know how in the past you
- 14:30Speaker 1: have felt when you've operated predominantly in your masculine energy
- 14:34Speaker 1: versus how you feel when you're predominantly in your feminine energy,
- 14:37Speaker 1: Like what states are you in? What kind of headspace
- 14:39Speaker 1: are you in? How do you feel when you're in
- 14:41Speaker 1: opposing energies and not both.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I definitely had a story that women that are two
- 14:47Speaker 2: in their feminine don't get anything done. Yeah, And I
- 14:49Speaker 2: was really fearful of that because I've been out of
- 14:52Speaker 2: home since I was like just on sixteen. I've worked
- 14:54Speaker 2: since I was thirteen. I've operated from a place of
- 14:57Speaker 2: the story that I needed to take care of myself
- 14:59Speaker 2: and makes it to happen. I've got great work ethic
- 15:01Speaker 2: and it served me. I wouldn't be where I am
- 15:04Speaker 2: today if I didn't have that mindset and that masculine energy.
- 15:07Speaker 2: So I really love that about me. But as I've
- 15:10Speaker 2: grown and become a mother and been through burnout stages,
- 15:14Speaker 2: I've seen that it also can be too far one
- 15:17Speaker 2: way or the other. So I've enjoyed it when I'm
- 15:20Speaker 2: in it because I've achieved so much and I set
- 15:22Speaker 2: goals and I've got them done. I got to experience
- 15:24Speaker 2: so many things, and I've been able to provide for
- 15:25Speaker 2: people and help people, and that was always really beautiful.
- 15:28Speaker 1: So would you say it stopped you from fearing that
- 15:31Speaker 1: it might make you quotations lazy? Yeah, sake, it definitely
- 15:35Speaker 1: made you fearful of stepping into your feminine energy.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Wor so so scared. And I never wanted to be
- 15:40Speaker 2: appear to be lazy or a failure. I didn't want
- 15:42Speaker 2: to rest, and I also want to rest because being
- 15:45Speaker 2: masculine and being busy and getting shit done meant I
- 15:49Speaker 2: didn't have to feel what was underneath all of it.
- 15:52Speaker 2: And I remember Megsie talking about this often over the
- 15:55Speaker 2: last five years. Of how she notices when women are
- 15:58Speaker 2: really busy that they're distracting. And I had a lot
- 16:00Speaker 2: of resistance around it, and I honestly wasn't until I
- 16:03Speaker 2: got diagnosed with my brain anergism that I still and
- 16:05Speaker 2: reflected and it hit me like a fucking tsunami. I
- 16:09Speaker 2: was like, wow, I can see how being busy served
- 16:12Speaker 2: me to distract me away from what was going on underneath.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And I got to question everything. I did question everything.
- 16:19Speaker 2: That's why my life has changed so much in the
- 16:20Speaker 2: twelve months, which is really beautiful. So yeah, I love
- 16:24Speaker 2: both energies, but I definitely don't want to operate predominantly
- 16:27Speaker 2: in one or the other. There's different times and places
- 16:29Speaker 2: that I operate from both, and I like blending both together.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Having this conversations made me realize, I think I've gotten
- 16:34Speaker 2: really good at it having both there.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't feel like I do that really well.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't feel super masculine or super feminine when
- 16:41Speaker 2: I get home. For example, we joke about it, but like,
- 16:45Speaker 2: if Steve's there, you bet your I'm too weak to
- 16:47Speaker 2: carry the groceries. When I come home from the groceries,
- 16:50Speaker 2: he straight away comes out and carries all the groceries
- 16:52Speaker 2: for me. If he's not there, you bet your I'm
- 16:55Speaker 2: up for the challenge to do one load and one
- 16:58Speaker 2: load only.
- 16:58Speaker 1: We're not coming back for a secondary for a second. Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 1: one and done.
- 17:01Speaker 2: When he's around, I'm like a soft little baby. Ye
- 17:04Speaker 2: take fucking care of me.
- 17:06Speaker 1: He should be.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Even last night, we've got these two sheds out the
- 17:10Speaker 2: side of our house and it was cold. I was like, Bait,
- 17:14Speaker 2: can you go get my suitcase. He's like yeah, wow.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I was like, it's just really cold, and he's been
- 17:18Speaker 2: got it for me. But he's laughing, like too cold
- 17:21Speaker 2: for you, baby cold?
- 17:22Speaker 1: You know he loves it.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it.
- 17:24Speaker 1: He's like, let me take care of you. You know
- 17:25Speaker 1: it's so funny. I'm like that with my dad and
- 17:28Speaker 1: my dad down, I feel like I'm his little girl. Yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 1: he's around, and you know it's funny. I worked on
- 17:33Speaker 1: site doing carpentry for five years. Yeah, I'm a qualified
- 17:36Speaker 1: trade qualified carpenter. Yeah, and I did it for five
- 17:39Speaker 1: years working on site, and I worked for my dad. Yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 1: he knows I'm very well, capable, very capable, But I
- 17:44Speaker 1: still I'm his little girl when he's around.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I love being in that and he loves taking
- 17:48Speaker 2: care of you too, absolutely, like little things like hey, darling,
- 17:51Speaker 2: I filled your petrol up. Yeah, thank you dad.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Oh my, so nice, beautiful, just interesting. You know what?
- 17:56Speaker 1: And that comes down to feeling safe with the masculine.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Isn't it because of the moment you're not carrying shame.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah, the moment you feel safe with the masculine, immediately
- 18:05Speaker 1: you're dropping into that feminine. Yeah, because you know consciously
- 18:08Speaker 1: and unconsciously that that man has got you. Yeah. You
- 18:12Speaker 1: don't have to step up into the role because you
- 18:13Speaker 1: don't trust his leadership. Yeah, you automatically go, No, I
- 18:17Speaker 1: trust his leadership, He's gone. Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I used to have a story too. Now I don't
- 18:20Speaker 2: know why that spiked at them, but I used to
- 18:22Speaker 2: have a story too that if I was asking, even
- 18:25Speaker 2: Steve were like any man to do something, I then
- 18:28Speaker 2: created a story that I was a failure, that I
- 18:29Speaker 2: couldn't do it. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah, where do you think
- 18:32Speaker 2: that came from? I think just from having to learn
- 18:35Speaker 2: how to do things for myself. Yeah, not ever relying
- 18:38Speaker 2: on a man, because I'd never had a safe masculine
- 18:41Speaker 2: growing up. So yeah, leaving home so early and needing
- 18:45Speaker 2: tovent for myself.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I suppose.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I just felt like if I couldn't do it
- 18:49Speaker 2: and I needed a man, that I was weak. I
- 18:51Speaker 2: wanted to know that I could always take care of myself.
- 18:54Speaker 2: But it's like now I know I can, but I
- 18:56Speaker 2: don't want to.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I want you.
- 18:57Speaker 2: To take care of it.
- 18:58Speaker 1: It's interesting I had the opposite thing so I experienced.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Like my dad, He's very much been there for me,
- 19:05Speaker 1: yes throughout, like growing up and stuff like that, but
- 19:07Speaker 1: I did create a belief that I couldn't do anything
- 19:09Speaker 1: without my dad, so I had to Yeah. So it's
- 19:14Speaker 1: like I had to learn one how to get rid
- 19:17Speaker 1: of that. But anytime I tried to do something, I'd
- 19:18Speaker 1: be like, oh see, I can't do it. And then
- 19:20Speaker 1: I'd be like, Dad, I need help. Yeah you know,
- 19:21Speaker 1: I mean coming in and help you, come in and
- 19:23Speaker 1: help out. But he would always be my savior, and
- 19:26Speaker 1: for as long as I had that savior, I never
- 19:27Speaker 1: learned how to do anything on my own. And it
- 19:29Speaker 1: wasn't until I started my own business did I have
- 19:32Speaker 1: to learn how to figure it out on my own.
- 19:34Speaker 1: And it's not that he didn't support me through it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: He just wasn't coming in saving me when it a
- 19:39Speaker 1: shit got really hard, you know, So I think that
- 19:41Speaker 1: was something I had to unlearn, that belief of like,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm not capable unless he helps me, because I can't
- 19:47Speaker 1: do it on my own. And then when you build
- 19:49Speaker 1: that belief that you can do it on your own,
- 19:50Speaker 1: life changes because you can be supported, but you can
- 19:53Speaker 1: also support yourself too. That's a really important thing I
- 19:56Speaker 1: think every woman needs to learn.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's even little things around the house, like you know,
- 20:00Speaker 2: I know a lot of women are like I have
- 20:01Speaker 2: to clean up after my partner data. They're not capable.
- 20:04Speaker 2: They are ca They're very capable, but like I like
- 20:07Speaker 2: to take care of my men in that way, Like
- 20:09Speaker 2: I like to do those little things. It feels feminine
- 20:12Speaker 2: to nurture and to be the caretaker and to help
- 20:15Speaker 2: him relax after a hard day. They're very capable.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And you know what as well, even with those things,
- 20:19Speaker 1: it's like that might feel really good for you, but
- 20:21Speaker 1: for another woman that might feel like, oh, I don't
- 20:22Speaker 1: really want to do that, true, you know what I mean.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So it's like that's.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Dependent on each woman and how.
- 20:26Speaker 2: You've relationship dynamic.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, how you feel good nurturing. Yes, and it's just
- 20:30Speaker 1: getting to know what that looks like for you, so
- 20:32Speaker 1: good or bad or wrong. If it doesn't feel good
- 20:34Speaker 1: for it, doesn't feel good for you. But if it does,
- 20:36Speaker 1: do that, explore what that looks like for you.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's cool.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I love this conversation.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Me too. It's so fun. Let's do a little role play.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Oh oh, I feel like you're really good at this.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I'm scared now if someone comes to you and ask
- 20:51Speaker 2: you to do something that you really don't want to do,
- 20:55Speaker 2: could you give an example of what a healthy feminine
- 20:58Speaker 2: would say? And maybe not unhealthy, but if feminine that's
- 21:02Speaker 2: not anchored in who she is and is scared to
- 21:04Speaker 2: ruffle feathers or say no, can you give examples of
- 21:06Speaker 2: both how you'd reply, hay Tis, I'm moving house this weekend.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Can you come help me for a few hours to
- 21:11Speaker 2: packle my house up? Like I just yeah, it's gonna
- 21:14Speaker 2: be a big day. Can you come help me?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Honestly, the first thing, without actually thinking, the first thing
- 21:17Speaker 1: that came to my mind would be the unintegrated feminine
- 21:20Speaker 1: would probably be either say yes and be super passive aggressive.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Oh okay, so it'd be like oh, I'll say yes
- 21:26Speaker 2: and be resempful.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah theah okay, So like they would probably say yes
- 21:30Speaker 1: and do the people pleasing thing. You would know about it.
- 21:32Speaker 1: You would know that they're not happy about it.
- 21:34Speaker 2: So give me an example, the tone, the energy, the words,
- 21:36Speaker 2: what would that look like, just so women can like
- 21:38Speaker 2: they're listening, they can look out for that next time
- 21:40Speaker 2: and see if they do that and behave like that.
- 21:42Speaker 1: It would probably be like huffing and puffing like oh
- 21:44Speaker 1: yeah when yeah, you know, like how long is it
- 21:47Speaker 1: going to take?
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yes?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Is it going to take long? I've got you to do,
- 21:51Speaker 1: I've got things to do, like I don't know, Yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 1: of course we will help you. Yeah, it's fine, yes, okay.
- 21:57Speaker 1: It's very passive, aggressive and very does the energy behind
- 22:00Speaker 1: me saying yes, but you know that don't want to
- 22:01Speaker 1: do it. And then what will lead up after that
- 22:03Speaker 1: is probably a lot of punishment, okay, of like, oh,
- 22:06Speaker 1: in the huffing and puffing and you'll.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Not for you, I really didn't want to do it,
- 22:09Speaker 2: that's right, okay.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Whereas like somebody who I believe was in their feminine,
- 22:12Speaker 1: who was strong in their boundaries, would probably be like,
- 22:15Speaker 1: oh my god, I'm so excited that you're going to
- 22:16Speaker 1: be moving. That's amazing. I don't think I'm going to
- 22:18Speaker 1: be able to help you in this because I have
- 22:20Speaker 1: X y Z. However, what I can do is, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: I might pop in in the afternoon. I'll bring you
- 22:24Speaker 1: all lunch.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yes.
- 22:26Speaker 1: And the beautiful thing about that is, with boundaries, it's
- 22:29Speaker 1: a lot about feeling what feels good for you. So yes,
- 22:33Speaker 1: it's letting them know in a really soft and gentle way,
- 22:35Speaker 1: I'm unable to help you with this. But then it's
- 22:38Speaker 1: meeting them in the middle and going, but you know what,
- 22:40Speaker 1: this time I can do. So it's like you might
- 22:42Speaker 1: not be able to help them move, but that night
- 22:44Speaker 1: you might go when you buy them a housewarming gift.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yes, so they still feel loved and taken care of.
- 22:48Speaker 2: You feel good, You've honored yourself, You're still caring for them.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's like the beautiful lend that's right.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, that's all I had off the time.
- 22:54Speaker 2: No, that's perfect. Okay, cool, that's perfect. I love that. Alrighty. Well,
- 22:58Speaker 2: we hope you guys enjoyed this conversation. I really love
- 23:00Speaker 2: talking about masculine femin energy. I'd actually love to get
- 23:03Speaker 2: like a female expert on this love. Yeah, a female expert,
- 23:07Speaker 2: maybe a male expert to hear the different perspectives because
- 23:09Speaker 2: it's a really important conversation. And even though I've done
- 23:12Speaker 2: a lot of learnings around this and you've done a lot,
- 23:14Speaker 2: like I still learn a lot from you. There's always
- 23:17Speaker 2: more ways to learn or different perspectives or examples that
- 23:19Speaker 2: people can give that we can expand on this.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I would love to learn more, and I would love
- 23:24Speaker 1: to have a male and a female because I think
- 23:26Speaker 1: having a female perspective and a male perspective is very important. Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 1: so we should do that.
- 23:31Speaker 2: But if anyone knows anyone that specializes in this, this
- 23:34Speaker 2: is their niche just to what they talk about, maybe
- 23:36Speaker 2: they coach people in it, let us know. Pop it
- 23:37Speaker 2: into our she Riser's Facebook forum and we'd love to
- 23:40Speaker 2: get the one as guests.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Also, if you have anything that you need a little
- 23:43Speaker 1: bit of Best the Advice on, or you have a
- 23:45Speaker 1: question in regards to this episode, pop it into the
- 23:47Speaker 1: submissions for Best the Advice, Because if you're struggling right now,
- 23:51Speaker 1: you're struggling to balance the masculine and feminine energies, or
- 23:54Speaker 1: you're feeling like, oh, I'm too hard or I'm too
- 23:56Speaker 1: soft and I need a little bit of guidance. Yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 1: pop it in there and we'll be happy to answer
- 24:00Speaker 1: your questions and then we can expand on this conversation.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that link will be in the description box below.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Otherwise once again in our Facebook forum, or you can
- 24:06Speaker 2: pop them do our dams as well. But this is
- 24:07Speaker 2: something you also help a lot of your clients with, right, Yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 2: it's a common thing that kind of comes in. Can
- 24:12Speaker 2: you talk about how you coach people through this?
- 24:14Speaker 1: Yeah, so predominantly around relationships, So that's kind of the
- 24:17Speaker 1: strong suit, right, because it really shows up in our
- 24:19Speaker 1: intimate relationships. And so obviously it's dependent on the situation
- 24:22Speaker 1: or what they're going through. But I have a lot
- 24:24Speaker 1: of women come to me who really find themselves feeling
- 24:27Speaker 1: quite disconnected from their partners and they don't really know
- 24:29Speaker 1: what's happening in the relationship. So they're going, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 1: he's doing this, and they're super focused on the man's
- 24:35Speaker 1: behavior but not really aware of how they're contributing to it.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And so what I get my clients to focus on
- 24:41Speaker 1: is to really go within instead of always worrying about
- 24:43Speaker 1: what the man is doing, going okay, what can I control?
- 24:46Speaker 1: And we help them go within and go, okay, let's
- 24:48Speaker 1: audit all of your behavior, the way that you show up,
- 24:51Speaker 1: how you speak to them, how you communicate, how you
- 24:54Speaker 1: feel in your own body, and how connected you are
- 24:57Speaker 1: your pleasure. And then we go, okay, let's revamp this,
- 25:00Speaker 1: and so we reinvent them from inside out and then
- 25:04Speaker 1: it only comes out tenfold in the relationship. And I've
- 25:07Speaker 1: had a client of mine who's been with her partner
- 25:08Speaker 1: for fourteen years and we work together for a couple
- 25:11Speaker 1: of years, and she has completely transformed her communication, not
- 25:15Speaker 1: only in her parenting skills with her children, but with
- 25:19Speaker 1: her partner. She's like, we are the best that we
- 25:21Speaker 1: have ever been. And it's so powerful because she's like,
- 25:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't have known how to do this without these
- 25:25Speaker 1: new communication tools, or without softening myself and not being
- 25:28Speaker 1: in my head all the time. And that's why this
- 25:30Speaker 1: work is so powerful. That's awesome.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Do you find that kind of work someone needs to
- 25:34Speaker 2: work with you for a couple of years, because I
- 25:36Speaker 2: know that, like you, lately, you've had some clients You've
- 25:38Speaker 2: got like a new package deal at the point where
- 25:40Speaker 2: you have a phone call with them and then you
- 25:42Speaker 2: work with them through Voxer, which is like a voice
- 25:43Speaker 2: message kind of app. Do you find to work on
- 25:46Speaker 2: this stuff? It can be something that is resolved and
- 25:49Speaker 2: you can get a lot of results in a week.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Or is this more of a long term container?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Absolutely? Yeah, it depends. So the clients of mine who
- 25:54Speaker 1: have stayed with me for years are more because they
- 25:56Speaker 1: love the work. They're like, oh my god, I've grown
- 25:59Speaker 1: growth seekers. They're growth seekers right, They're like, oh my god,
- 26:01Speaker 1: I want to be plugged into this. I want bro
- 26:03Speaker 1: I want to be the best version of myself. And
- 26:05Speaker 1: then they stay and stay and stay. It's a conscious choice.
- 26:08Speaker 1: You don't need years for this stuff to work. And
- 26:10Speaker 1: like what you were mentioning, I do have a new
- 26:12Speaker 1: offer where we can just do one call and then
- 26:15Speaker 1: you get five days of boxer support as well. And
- 26:17Speaker 1: it's basically a deep dive on one specific problem within
- 26:21Speaker 1: your self worth or your relationship and how that might
- 26:24Speaker 1: be showing up in your relationship. So this is like
- 26:26Speaker 1: very an isolated problem for us to go cool, let's
- 26:29Speaker 1: work through this together. You get support after that and
- 26:32Speaker 1: I'll help you integrate it, and then you get to
- 26:34Speaker 1: go on and like continue implementing that in your life.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I just love that because I had a friend of
- 26:38Speaker 2: a friend of mine that I put onto you because
- 26:40Speaker 2: she'd had this massive blow up with her partner about
- 26:43Speaker 2: this specific topic that kept coming up in their relationship,
- 26:46Speaker 2: and she booked that with you. Had the one call,
- 26:48Speaker 2: so you got to know everything about the situation. Then
- 26:50Speaker 2: for the next five days, she was so plugged into
- 26:53Speaker 2: you and like worked through something that she had struggled
- 26:55Speaker 2: for the last ten years in her relationship. And I
- 26:57Speaker 2: was like, remember, you're telling me about it, and I
- 26:58Speaker 2: knew about it because it was my friend and you're
- 27:00Speaker 2: my friend, so it was okay to talk about. But
- 27:03Speaker 2: I was like, wow, it blows my mind how much
- 27:04Speaker 2: can be done in one week of full plug in
