- 0:14Listening you all sound pretty even okay, right?
- 0:16We're gonna just try I'm not hearing anything. I want to hear but like
- 0:21Listen, welcome to our audience. Yeah, you knew what you were getting into were terrible
- 0:25Actually, maybe you didn't know what you were getting into I
- 0:31Don't know why I picked these movies I
- 0:36Had only seen face off and I saw face off when I was probably
- 0:42Six or something. So it was the appropriate time
- 0:45Yeah appropriate time to see right? Welcome
- 0:51To cage match colon around about wave meeting Nicolas cage. I'm your host Sean here with my
- 0:57Befuddled co-host. I'm not befuddled. I'm just disappointed
- 1:01But disappointed but disappointed and what's your name Nick?
- 1:07I'm Nick season 2 Nick season 2 Nick a lot less to live for
- 1:12And our producer Peter. Hello and this week we are back for season 2
- 1:20That's right. Yeah, we've done
- 1:2332 33 if you count the wrap-up episode 33 plus some extra stuff of these so
- 1:30And others get ready to hear all the same opinions again for another 15 months
- 1:35No, but we have friends this time my first opinion is these white cloths. Yeah, they're pretty bad. Sorry sparkle buddies
- 1:45Buddy suck
- 1:47But yes, as Peter said we have friends and this week we have our guest Jimmy. Hi Jimmy. Hello. Hello everyone
- 1:55I'm not drinking white cloth. So I
- 1:58Will send blessings from afar. I
- 2:02Think you have the better choice with white wine at this point
- 2:04It just has to be white
- 2:07white
- 2:10Yeah, Jimmy Harrod is a
- 2:13very talented musician singer
- 2:16Performer and actor and we're really thrilled to have you join us in our really dumb adventure
- 2:23Yeah, my first question why?
- 2:26It's hard to say no to Peter. I tried very hard and no
- 2:31It's hard to say no here I am
- 2:33It's true. I get it and I so last season to catch catch me up
- 2:37Let's pretend I'm totally new to this world was last season all Nick Cage also. Yeah
- 2:45How many movies has this man done over a hundred and he's got more coming out six this year alone
- 2:51You know, we're not doing all of them. We take we took what we consider to probably be
- 2:56his 64 best films
- 2:58Categorize them Peter misled us into believing these were Nicholas Cage's 64 best films. That's true
- 3:05And here we are established. We don't say no to Peter
- 3:08But we took six took 64 films categorize them from action comedy
- 3:15serious and wacky and
- 3:18have been every episode taken two films and
- 3:21Whittling them down from 64 to 32. Yes, we're in the beginning of whittling
- 3:26From 32 to 16 and then right on down to number one best
- 3:31Most watchable most rewatchable Nick Cage movie because we will at that point have watched a Nick Cage movie
- 3:38With single watches seven times. I think will be the the winner
- 3:43We've committed literal days of our life to these movies
- 3:47What's the first season just one movie per episode? No, it's the same concept. It was still the head dad. Okay
- 3:52Tip to tip and and the cages world. Yeah. Yeah, you nuts the butts
- 3:57Nicholas Cage running a train on us
- 4:01So Jimmy, what what is it that draws you to this this myth this legend of Nicholas Cage? Um,
- 4:08You know, it's funny. It's like yeah, I've seen him in many movies, but uh,
- 4:13I don't know if he's my favorite actor. So this was like a great excuse to like
- 4:18challenge that and I might have to watch more movies to really get um
- 4:24Get that final stamps on it, but these two were were a good comparison. Um, I think they're like from different eras of mr. Cage and
- 4:33And different eras of just like culture
- 4:36So it was it was interesting to watch these two and try to come up with an opinion
- 4:42If you don't think he's the best actor now, I think he's the best actor
- 4:45If you don't think he's the best actor now watch 64 of his films
- 4:51And then you kind of just have to say he is because people are going to judge you either way
- 4:55I think my brain is broken now at this point
- 4:59Well, let's say uh this week our first lineup or our first matchup for round two is face-off versus ghost writers
- 5:06The first ghost writer not spirit. Yeah, it has no vengeance. No vengeance. No spirit. No spirit. No joy for me
- 5:11Plenty of joy for me mostly because there's no joy for you
- 5:16I don't know how you didn't come through
- 5:18This watching without learning to love it a little bit. Oh, I love it a little bit now
- 5:23I just really don't like it the ghost writer. So I guess we're talking about ghost writer. Yeah ghost writer is not my favorite
- 5:28Uh, but yeah, let's let's do ghost writer first. So ghost writer is the story
- 5:33of a little boy johnny blaze who
- 5:37Makes a deal with the devil to get rid of his dad's cancer
- 5:40But deals with devils go poorly. So dad still died and now johnny is the
- 5:48uh
- 5:49spirit of the devil's like
- 5:53Vengeance, but not with that in the title, um, because that's a different movie. Yeah, that sounds like a different movie
- 5:59It's a better movie
- 6:02Then he uh grows up and has to
- 6:06What stop?
- 6:08Staphyl is his kid from taking all the souls and
- 6:13Making hell on earth. Yep as a skelly boy. So the first thing I noticed on my rewatch of this movie is
- 6:21ghost writer and
- 6:22Blackheart and his friends
- 6:24They're the planeteers
- 6:26Oh, yeah earth fire wind water and uh,
- 6:29Wes bentley is heart
- 6:31Blackheart, yeah, that's my joke everyone. I'm done. All right. Thank you for listening to cage match. See you all next time
- 6:38Wait a minute. Do we just always end the episode when shawn tells a joke?
- 6:43Really really bad one. Yeah
- 6:46Fold up shot that explains why we finished so many episodes
- 6:52Five minutes in
- 6:53I don't know if that's a dig on that. I just never tell jokes or
- 6:57That all the jokes are good up until the worst one and then we leave
- 7:00You decide
- 7:02Fuck you guys. I know i'm fine
- 7:05Uh, yeah, so this movie is still
- 7:08weird
- 7:10But not too weird. Oh god. I still don't like the jelly bean thing in the martini glass
- 7:15Oh, I forgot about that. Jimmy you said this was your first time watching this movie
- 7:19Yeah, I remember when it came out like I guess I should say I remember the title, um, but it's kind of stops there
- 7:25um, I didn't hear anything about it and then
- 7:28Right after watching it. I wanted to look up the rotten tomatoes
- 7:32Even though I don't always agree and I kind of had to agree for once and like okay
- 7:36The tomatoes should be thrown at this
- 7:39So, uh your initial thoughts
- 7:42It's funny because I don't want to start talking about um face off just yet or facelift whatever
- 7:48um, but I did feel like
- 7:51I left face off with much more in my memory than ghost rider, which I watched after face off
- 7:57After face off. It's like it's not super memorable and it's kind of formulaic or or just maybe predictable
- 8:05Like there's going to be a damsel
- 8:07that's
- 8:08Sort of in distress and then like yeah, I don't know it was it was just not I wish it grabbed me more
- 8:15Yeah, it's very much a fluffy movie. There's not
- 8:19Anything substantial to it and it doesn't like change the game in any way
- 8:23And and they tried to add comedy like in the sense of the the beans instead of like a drink
- 8:28Yeah, the first time he does it i'm like, okay fine like weird, but we're gonna move on. Oh, no 20 minutes later here
- 8:35He's like donna lobe. Do you want some beans? And he's like, I don't want the fucking beans. Yeah
- 8:41Yeah, the jelly beans it's just it's almost like they wanted to create like
- 8:46funny things about his character, but then they also wanted like us to have like
- 8:49Maybe some serious compassion for his like dad dying like I also thank you for um explaining the story much better than I tried to
- 8:57To someone today. I was like, yeah, like he sells his soul to the devil, but he doesn't realize it
- 9:04Sort of and then his dad like I was really labored like by this opening that was like so short in comparison to the rest of the movie
- 9:12But it's totally all right. I've seen the movie quite a few times now. So you've got it down
- 9:17Just get it down
- 9:19It was better for me on a second watch. I tried to go in with a very clean attitude on it
- 9:25I still don't love it
- 9:28Yeah, it's definitely easier the second time second or third time
- 9:34like anal
- 9:36But
- 9:39Wow, you were you were mentally lubricated for what you were going to experience
- 9:44Yes, you feel ready second time
- 9:46I still maintain that the comedy is intentional Peter. I know you disagree with me on this but oh no
- 9:52I think it's intentional. I just don't think it's great. It's not great. No, I mean, it's fine
- 9:57I mean this movie's fine the actions. Okay
- 10:01the cgs
- 10:03It holds up. I think it really holds for the time for the time. I think the cgi is pretty good incorrect
- 10:09Ghost writer is really good. Everything else looks like shit
- 10:13Yeah, yeah the bad guys look so stupid the dirt guy the villains really sucked in this movie. I think that's a problem, too. It's like
- 10:21None of them are necessarily a challenge aside from blackheart. They're just situational inconveniences. Yeah, and
- 10:31Black heart he apparently had figured out
- 10:34Well in advance there wasn't much of a struggle for him
- 10:38It was just again situational inconveniences. The problem with the character of ghost writer is there
- 10:44I can't think of a single
- 10:46Big villain that people would know of his kind of like the wonder woman problem
- 10:51There's not a mainstream villain that goes along with the character
- 10:54Like the closest ghost writer villain I could think of and I've read a lot of ghost writer is the orb
- 10:59Who's just a guy who has a big eyeball for a head?
- 11:03Oh, yeah, I mean that's kind of cool, but he doesn't do anything. That's he just has that
- 11:09It doesn't have any power seems like a liability. Yeah, you get dust and stuff in it all the time
- 11:14It's just it's weird like he's a weird ghost writer
- 11:18Yeah, just really big ones
- 11:21Dinner plates and black hearts such a weird villain because he's not a regular comic villain
- 11:26And I think most people would know him from like marvel versus capcom where he looks like you know a big tentacled badass
- 11:31Yeah, everything's better with tentacles looking like wes bentley isn't exactly the most badass thing
- 11:37You hear that wes bentley take that bentley come at me come on our podcast come find me
- 11:44Share your opinions about how you look
- 11:48And how you feel about ghost writer mostly that one yeah, my understanding is wes bentley doesn't remember ghost writer
- 11:54Yeah, I felt like the villains they're all
- 11:56Well the three he just takes them down within like a minute of them interacting
- 12:01So they're very like, you know dismissive are just dismissable. Like you don't remember them. I don't know any other names
- 12:08They just like kind of fly at him or pull him underwater or something and they're like forgotten and it's like
- 12:15Yeah, there was dirty dog, yeah, uh or what buddy dan? Yeah, moisty boy. Uh-huh moisty
- 12:22Air, uh windpipe
- 12:26I mean essentially
- 12:28Much like the band they took their look from god's mac. We've forgotten all of the moderated
- 12:35Take that god's mac come on our podcast defend your existence
- 12:39Talk about ghost writer don't come on our podcast. Please for the love of god stay away
- 12:46Stay away
- 12:48Stay away
- 12:54I hate season two myself and god's mac
- 12:59Jimmy are you a comic book movie person at all or um comic book not so much anime. Yes, but um
- 13:09But no, you know, that's the thing about this about ghost writer. I wasn't super familiar with the character
- 13:14So to get introduced to him through this lens and for him to be like kind of like laughable and to not have like a great
- 13:23Like delivered backstory like I think about how many iterations are of spider-man
- 13:28I think that the reason is because they always set up the story so well of like the origins of his powers and like
- 13:35Okay, what what?
- 13:37Variant of the story we're going with this time like I think there are characters that have been so much
- 13:42Um, they've been executed so much better in terms of like leaving the comic world into the film world
- 13:49And this is not one of them
- 13:54It's like I I don't know how many people like you were saying like the wonder moon problem, uh know the villains
- 14:01and and then when you try to like
- 14:03I don't know build a story around like just I guess his backstory his backstory feels really thin at least in this portrayal
- 14:11so I feel like I didn't leave this with like a
- 14:15Desire to know more but is it a burning desire?
- 14:19well
- 14:21No, would you actively seek out any of it?
- 14:24Or you just disappointed I want to know more like why because it must be a good character if they wanted to make a film
- 14:32But they made a sequel and they made a sequel. I didn't check out the tomatoes on that but
- 14:37You guys seem to like it better. It's I think it's worse tomatoes
- 14:41It was made on a like shoestring budget
- 14:44And it was like by the guys who did the movie crank. Yeah, it's insane
- 14:49It's they're like music video directors. So visually it's nuts. The action is
- 14:54Is better the storyline is terrible
- 14:57In the usable that's not what you're there for but it was just bolder choices, which actually kind of worked for it
- 15:03Yeah, just because it was
- 15:05more interesting
- 15:07And i've always liked I mean because I have read a lot of ghostwriter and i've always liked johnny blaze's the down on his luck
- 15:13Town to town like incredible hulk style like sad piano music, but on a hog
- 15:18Yeah, I wanted him to be more like a sad sack, you know that that kind of story is a little more interesting to me
- 15:23but like seeing a bunch of fucking
- 15:26Redneck people just being like johnny blaze
- 15:29We fucking love you and then in the jail being like I wanted to see you splatter. It's like oh, Jesus christ
- 15:35I will say of the comic book movies of this era. This is the most accurate depiction like comic to screen
- 15:42That was out at the time like that is
- 15:45actually the original
- 15:47Story arc of johnny blaze and the ghostwriter. What about roxy?
- 15:52Roxy's a character. Yeah
- 15:55Roxy's a character is about the best definition
- 15:59I mean, yeah, that is I mean that's that's their role their role in the movie and their role in the comic book
- 16:04Is her their role is that limited i'll say
- 16:08Pretty much. Yeah, I just I found her still wallpaper and then I was trying to think
- 16:13Is this her acting or is this the writing or is this her character like?
- 16:17You know, what is it peter peter brought up a line?
- 16:22That he just loved that she says in a diner. I'm totally forgetting it right now
- 16:26Oh, it's when she's drinking that glass of wine and the waiter like brings over another bottle and she's like i'm pretty right?
- 16:31And he's just like god
- 16:35And that's her comedic moment. I feel like like for us
- 16:39It's like oh i'm supposed to like relate maybe or laugh at her situation like
- 16:44I didn't I didn't feel much for her and just kind of bored. I think there's better there's better female opposites
- 16:52In the stories, but you're saying this is such a
- 16:55Of the time period this is the most direct
- 16:57Translation to screen so i'm like, okay, I would not be rooting for her
- 17:02Which I remembered hating at the time because I wanted this like very dour dark ghostwriter movie and I didn't want it to be a comedy
- 17:10When I watched at the time but coming back to it for this podcast. I'm like this movie fucking rocks
- 17:16Because I saw this in theaters like
- 17:18I had like a 90 dollar a week
- 17:21Single issue comic book habit. I hung out only at a comic book store. I thought I was going to be a comic artist
- 17:26So like this is all I cared about it makes sense that it would speak to you more. Yeah than me
- 17:31That's your response
- 17:35That's for you, I love that for you
- 17:39What did you like about the movie? I mean we've all talked about the things we didn't like but I've only talked about the things I liked
- 17:47It's the same conversation
- 17:49I'm wrong about everything
- 17:51I thought it was uh, I mean I could follow it almost better than the film we're going to talk about after this
- 18:00Like because it's so formulaic you can just like paint by numbers like okay, this is gonna happen and this happens
- 18:07Oh
- 18:08Is this a surprise? Not really but that's okay because like at least I know where the you know
- 18:13I know where the motion will lead us and so that
- 18:16actually made it
- 18:18easier to watch
- 18:20I didn't hate this one actually as much as I
- 18:23As much as I have strong feelings about the other and so I actually felt like after I liked it more
- 18:29But that didn't mean I liked it, right? It's hard to hate something
- 18:33You just don't care about is how I came out of this movie. It's like it doesn't
- 18:38Affect me so I don't hate it. It's not like bank. I'm dangerous. I don't feel like I wasted my time watching it
- 18:45I just don't feel for it
- 18:47Uh good bank. I'm not like kissing on the mouth. Yeah, right. There's nothing for me these days
- 18:53Just dead below the waist. Yeah
- 18:56You need a hand across your face
- 19:01Oh now I just feel anger again
- 19:03Well, uh before we before we move on from uh from this to face off
- 19:07I do want to suggest to our listeners peter keep this in here, please
- 19:11um
- 19:12The comic series that came out around this time if anyone does want to know more about ghost writer
- 19:15Uh ghost writer by daniel way artist, uh tex sierra
- 19:20Was really good. Like it was the big relaunch that came out around the same time as the comic and I remember really enjoying it
- 19:26So jimmy, where would you slot this on?
- 19:29Good movie versus good nicolas cage performance, you know in the venn diagram kind of in that concept
- 19:35Would you call it a good good good bad? Yeah, good cage bad movie bad cage good movie good bad bad good
- 19:41Um, no, I uh, I that's funny actually because
- 19:46The movie is like so
- 19:49Unoffensive or daring that it's like could feel boring
- 19:53But that's also what makes it safe
- 19:55And like so it feels very middle of the road, but nick cage in this is also interesting because like
- 20:03God, I guess it's an interesting thing to watch so many of his performances in a row
- 20:06Because like it's easy to sort of be like, oh, this is just who they are on screen like, you know to generalize
- 20:12but I did feel some differences in this and some other moments i've seen of him on screen and
- 20:19After some of the comedic goofy like the beams and the glass thing
- 20:24I actually didn't mind his acting
- 20:26in this
- 20:27Even if even though I wasn't like I didn't leave it. I don't leave the movie like feeling anything
- 20:32It's like all right. That's done cool. Yeah, I mean I
- 20:37I left it feeling like he actually was acting
- 20:40Where I don't always leave
- 20:43Maybe watching like an x-men movie with that sensation
- 20:47What do you guys see? I've come to love this film quite a bit. It's stupid. I love nick cage in it
- 20:55You know thinking about it after having seen so many of his films
- 20:58This was 2007 seven early two. It was mid-2000s where nick cage was still kind of a big name
- 21:07Not that he isn't now, but it's different now like he could still
- 21:10He could still lead an action vehicle
- 21:13I think i'm just so
- 21:16It don't okay. So it only feels to me like this is a movie
- 21:19I could watch at like my uncle's house, but like an uncle, I don't know that well
- 21:23So there's no real environment
- 21:25But like an uncle, I don't know that well, so there's no real investment, but I can put it on
- 21:30And we can both just ignore each other and ignore the movie
- 21:34It's just a past time. So it's not silent. Yeah, it's literally just
- 21:39To speed my way to death
- 21:41That's how I feel about this movie. Yeah, I mean, it's fine
- 21:45I wouldn't turn it off if it was on
- 21:48Unless I had something better to do
- 21:50Which could be anything
- 21:52It could be a prolonged bathroom break. I'd watch this during a prolonged bathroom break. That's a long bathroom break. You guys need fiber
- 22:00Uh just to get away
- 22:02Just an escape. Yeah fair. No, I I live by myself. I i'm always away
- 22:07I'm so lonely
- 22:09No, this movie's fine. Um
- 22:13Yeah, so i'll say that nicolas cage made acting choices and
- 22:18That's something you don't always get
- 22:20It's not a good performance for me and
- 22:23It's just an okay movie. I don't think the movie works without nicolas cage
- 22:27I I don't know. I could say otherwise but
- 22:31make west bentley ghostwriter
- 22:33Yeah, just as the people demand just make nicolas cage the villain blackheart. Yeah, that would be fine
- 22:39I would like that a lot as well
- 22:41I just want anything with nicolas cage and at this point. It's stockholm syndrome, baby. Yeah
- 22:46Yeah
- 22:48You've you've you're convinced just from the process of this
- 22:52Nick caves used to be in everything
- 22:54It's weird if he's not at this point. Yeah. Yeah, he's in the media. I consume so
- 23:00I don't think that would change anything. It's gonna be weird when we're done with this in like 15 months
- 23:04Yeah, suicide pact suicide pact. Yep, but won't there be more movies to report?
- 23:09Well, we can always review his his back catalog and then the new ones, you know
- 23:13If we wanted to continue talking about nicolas cage, we could literally just reorganize the bracket
- 23:20Do it again. Yeah, do it all over start from the top, baby. Yeah
- 23:24Uh, just do the whole seating system based on how much chest hair we see
- 23:29Or like how far his hairline has gone. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea
- 23:35It's it's a body hair only bracket. Yes. Yeah. All right
- 23:38Does he have a beard? It's a bearded section. See this works. Yeah, damn we could do that. All right
- 23:44All right. Thanks for the idea jimmy
- 23:46I was shocked by how cut he was in this movie, right? He does do that sometimes
- 23:52He doesn't look like that when i'm looking at him neck up
- 23:56I'm like not trying to look neck up and then and then suddenly his shirt's on like what in
- 24:02Where how cgi had yeah, he's always got a soft boy face
- 24:07I'm convinced in this film at cgi because that was it's really cut for him
- 24:12I'm looking up what movies were around that time, but the abs are also like
- 24:17Weirdly like grossly cut so before that he was in world trade center wicker man
- 24:22And then after that he was in the two grindhouse movies and then next which none of those were yeah
- 24:28No, rift rolls. Yeah. No, that's that's cj. It's got to be cj. It's a fake body
- 24:32Really? Yeah, it must be I mean we've seen him get cut for roles before but that was like
- 24:39Chiseled it was chiseled. You know what? Maybe he did get cut to be a superhero because he always did want to be a superhero
- 24:45He was almost superman. So maybe he did get cut for the movie. So he required that
- 24:50Nothing seen with him with his shirt off. Yeah, we're just like in the mirror. Yeah
- 24:54Yeah, yeah, and it doesn't take much to actually turn just being in shape to looking like that. It's just dehydrating yourself
- 25:01Yeah, that's a good point. So there's no good segue into the name
- 25:05Jimmy had one earlier and then we kept talking about ghostwriter. So I was gonna say he's in good shape in um face off
- 25:12There we go, but his hairline is very different. Yes
- 25:16Well, don't they added his hairline when he becomes uh, jermalta?
- 25:21maybe that's what it is
- 25:23They're just trying to blend the hairlines. They're like, uh, we don't know what his hairline should be at the start of this
- 25:28Um, okay who wants to do a quick recap on face off 1997 john woo?
- 25:35Nicholas cage and john travolta switch penises
- 25:39But not
- 25:40Oh, they totally do
- 25:42Do you think it was like a degloving situation?
- 25:45Like they just kind of cut around it and like peeled it off just like the face and then just rolled it down the other penis
- 25:52Like or an injection maybe it's injection like just weird collagen to like fill it out if it's plumper
- 25:58But what if it's skinnier? What if it's circumcised?
- 26:01circumcision, I feel like you could work back and forth with like you just get like a
- 26:07foreskin tuck
- 26:08And then they come out kind of like the hem on your pants and then they can release it
- 26:14When you're when you're done being circumcised
- 26:17Like a tailor I think so
- 26:19I'm gonna ask my tailor if this is something we can work with
- 26:25It's like I don't know i'll just knit you a turtleneck
- 26:27I can't remember we talked about this. Are you uh you circumcised nick? We've talked about it on like every episode ever
- 26:35Hold on, let me make sure my volume is up on this part
- 26:39It's a dominant portion of uh our friendship is just discussing our penises
- 26:44Sean seems to have like penis blindness in remembering that he's seen both of our penises before
- 26:50I mean, i've seen I was I saw yours peter cusped by the moonlight
- 26:53Correct, and I just whipped mine out after a warhammer discussion. I think no we were camping. Yeah
- 26:59Oh, that's true. We were camping
- 27:01It was actually both because we made plans to play warhammer and then never played warhammer, but you saw my wiener
- 27:07What is warhammer?
- 27:10It's something that doesn't get many people to look at your penis
- 27:14Okay
- 27:15Okay
- 27:16And we're back. So uh face off fbi agent sean archer is trying to track down
- 27:21I want to say zander cage, but now it's castor troye castor troye. Who is zander cage?
- 27:27Uh, isn't that triple x?
- 27:29Triple x this is a triple x podcast now. Fuck. Yeah cooking with that cooking with diesel remember that romstein performance in
- 27:38The second one enemy of the state. I do not oh so good. I never saw that one
- 27:43My friend's in that movie
- 27:45Really? He's an extra. Oh nice. I thought you were gonna say it was vin diesel and I was like your friends with vin diesel
- 27:50Yeah, i'll get him on the podcast. Good. We'll talk nick cage. You only bring this up in an enemy of the state conversation
- 27:57So zander troye castor troye castor troye is a terrorist
- 28:02Who is trying to blow up the la convention center in parts of la for reasons?
- 28:07Yeah reasons but gets put into a coma by sean archer
- 28:12During a kick-ass gunfight in
- 28:15A airplane engine depot
- 28:17Yeah, but they don't know where the bomb is and the only way to get it is for scientists to swap their faces
- 28:23so
- 28:24sean archer can go undercover as
- 28:27Castor castor troye castor troye thought that was right, but i'm like no you're you're probably wrong. We'll get flashcards next time. Thank you
- 28:36and um goes undercover to
- 28:39Get the information from castor troye's brother pollock's troye pollock's try
- 28:42But during the time castor troye wakes up has the scientists put sean archer's face on him
- 28:49And and penis and penis he's like I want what he's having uh and then
- 28:54Sean archer has to escape from prison to stop castor troye who is sleeping with his wife because apparently
- 29:00Nobody decided it was important that this undercover operation
- 29:05Was not quite so undercover that he could be pulled out so he so that was part of the thing was
- 29:11Only his partner
- 29:13FBI director crime fighting partner not his wife partner and the
- 29:17Scientist who did the operation with the only ones who know
- 29:21Except for the entire team of scientists who worked there who got they got burned no only three of them got burned
- 29:27Uh the other ones got burned too the other 20 people did not get burned. They probably got burned
- 29:31They probably signed like ironclad ndas probably the big part of this is every time
- 29:37castor troye as sean archer sleeps with
- 29:39Sean archer's wife and she is none the wiser which just tells me she's been checked out from that marriage for a while
- 29:45I also really think that they didn't fuck at all or do anything and like that was the thing in months
- 29:51And that's why he's like oh, you're not giving your wife what she needs. I'm gonna give it to her
- 29:57I could eat a peach for hours
- 29:59Eat a peach for hours, baby
- 30:00She does say that you know they'd been living together as husband and wife for a couple weeks so
- 30:04So here's my theory about the penis swapping technology because I believe i'm pros penis swap
- 30:10Of course you would be because sean archer had to go undercover in a you know in a prison
- 30:15But not only not with other convicts
- 30:18With castor troye's brother castor troye's brother and castor and polex have definitely taken sink baths together
- 30:24polex knows what castor's dick looks like
- 30:27They had to swap do you remember your last sink bath?
- 30:31Yes
- 30:33Yes
- 30:36Just because it was like yesterday yeah, but
- 30:39No, most people don't remember that sort of thing from i'm just i feel like it changes. Yeah
- 30:47I mean i'm just assuming the fear was mine grew a little since I was a child
- 30:52I'm just assuming mostly thickening the length is the fbi assumed that you know polex might know what castor troye's dick looked like
- 31:00And they had to cover all bases. I don't know what my brother's dick looks like likewise
- 31:05I mean a dick i'm assuming
- 31:08kind of
- 31:09Tubular it's odd how most of us in this room
- 31:12Can we talk know what each other's dicks look like and you don't know your own brother's dick looks
- 31:15I don't know what either of you guys's dicks look like I could have seen them and it immediately just like
- 31:21Slid off my brain. It's their memories. I don't need to maintain dick blindness
- 31:26I didn't go like immediately back to my room and like do a charcoal drawing that I could preserve
- 31:34Like my future generations
- 31:36But are they really brothers? That's the other thing. I was there's almost a slight
- 31:41Strange vibe between them for just a second
- 31:44That relationship is very weird. I mean they are blood related
- 31:49Um, but the shoe tying thing is super weird
- 31:53Like I mean there's some weird incest stuff in this movie. Uh, what's his girlfriend castor troye's girlfriend's name?
- 31:59Yeah, because when her brother dies brother just like sticks his tongue down her mouth. Oh, yeah that that was strange
- 32:05But they do a lot of drugs
- 32:07I mean I do a lot of drugs, but I haven't kissed my brother
- 32:11Yet like well also there's during that fight scene in the prison, you know, I feel about mouth kissing
- 32:18It's boring
- 32:20Yeah, nobody wants to kiss on the mouth anymore. Um, when they're fighting in that prison
- 32:26There's this moment where pollock's is like i'm gonna get close just for memory sake, but he's like watching the fight. He's like
- 32:36Yeah, he does get like horny for it you're right he's getting horny and what's up with this tongue in the mouth and
- 32:44Maybe I would think maybe he would know who it looks like more than anybody else
- 32:48Okay, so then maybe there's some maybe there's some theory here that we can really latch on to you had to swap the dick
- 32:54Yeah, is that technology really in their in their ability? I don't know. Can you just like pop them off?
- 33:00Yeah, well, I think it's more like a mr. Potato head situation
- 33:04Same concept. Yeah, but there's the stem, right? Yeah the alignment step
- 33:09Don't don't all penises have an alignment stem penises are just an alignment stem
- 33:14But that's the other direction. Um, I you know, I stand
- 33:20With uh degloving. I think that's the way they did it. That's the way they did facial technology. Yeah
- 33:27Uh, that way you build like a little like jelly prosthetic that you apply over it
- 33:32You just slide it down you reverse banana that peel but I imagine the skin hasn't really healed on yet
- 33:38So when he's having sex with his wife
- 33:41There's a chance that the glove could just slide off the stem. Yeah, he probably
- 33:46The rawest of dogs. I don't think castor troy would bother holding on to it
- 33:50He'd let it slide around in there. That might be a little extra for him
- 33:56The other theory I came up with and maybe this is you know more accurate
- 33:59Maybe she did think there was something weird with the dick
- 34:01But then he did declare he can eat a peach for hours
- 34:04You get a lot of leeway if you can eat a peach for hours. Yeah
- 34:06Oh, maybe maybe they didn't dick down. He just like you know that
- 34:12Never done that. Oh, yeah
- 34:15He doesn't do mouth stuff. He's like superman
- 34:18Who said that again? I can't remember some asshole. Yeah
- 34:22Was it pitbull? No
- 34:25The rock no, it was no I think it was no it's batman doesn't do that. Oh batman doesn't go down
- 34:30Yeah, superman goes down. He just looks at your body with his vision
- 34:33uses his lasers to do what he wants just like I don't really want to touch it but
- 34:40a burning sensation
- 34:42Just like the ultimate voyeur. Yeah, oh, yeah, you're right batman doesn't go down. Yeah
- 34:47Coward not with all that gear on it's just like
- 34:51The mouth is free the mouth is literally the most accessible part of him. It is true
- 34:57I feel like ghostwriter would but i'm terrified of that
- 35:00At night yeah at night or during the day like which does yeah, right?
- 35:05He's like putting jelly beans in there or he's like
- 35:09using that chain
- 35:11So yeah, jimmy, what did you think of this? I mean you watched it as a youth right? You know, I'm like, you know
- 35:18Because it was the 90s the technology seemed way more advanced when you're watching the movie
- 35:23You're like, oh wow, like this this is like what facelifts are gonna be like in the future like
- 35:30They're gonna be able to like give me like crazy apps
- 35:33Like what's it gonna be and then like watching it because this is also, you know
- 35:37Like it's like when you play an old video game in like 2023 as we're currently in
- 35:42It's like oh the graphics are not what I remember
- 35:46They were so cool. I was like, oh my god
- 35:48It's like oh the graphics are not what I remember like they were so cutting edge or cutting face
- 35:56in that movie
- 35:57That now I was like, oh, okay like it, you know, it's still fine, but it just like the logic seemed
- 36:05I thought the movie was a comedy and basically I was just saying everything felt kind of goofy. It felt like this like
- 36:10Comedy that didn't know it was a comedy. Yeah, it's definitely got that action comedy
- 36:15vibe even just like that opening at the chair of the choir singing and he's like
- 36:23Right, right. He's doing his like little gestural dance. How was that?
- 36:26Not a red flag for everybody in the area too. Do you not follow what the catholic church gets up to?
- 36:32Yeah, have you not met horny priests?
- 36:34You know, I haven't been allowed in church in a while. That's true
- 36:37I guess what should have alerted everyone else was he was assault sexually assaulting a woman instead of a boy
- 36:42Mm. Take that catholic church. Come on our podcast. Come on engage. I think they've been coming on enough
- 36:49Oh
- 36:51The spotlight is on them
- 36:54Oh you fucking boo my joke, but you're like sean come on here every other week
- 36:59This was my idea. I get a pass
- 37:02Yeah, he's he's very creepy like just from the onset and you're kind of like, okay
- 37:06How's nobody paying attention to this guy?
- 37:08They're like mid song. He's like all up on these and if it's a girl, he's all up on somebody. There's somebody he's
- 37:16Basically groping whatever what were john woo's like American movies. There was this there was
- 37:22Well, there was the wind talkers wind talkers
- 37:25Oh mission impossible two mission
- 37:28That's right. This time that one was the worst mission. It was a terrible movie. Yeah, but on the the the woo
- 37:34Woo, like overlap stuff so many one of the things that I was really kind of blown away by in this movie is how many people?
- 37:41Cage has worked with again from this
- 37:44Joan allen as his wife in this and in left behind
- 37:49Chris bauer who was dubov the guy in the prison whose
- 37:52Wife got fucked by whatever. He was the machine in eight millimeter
- 37:57Nick cassavetes, which was detrick the like drug guy who gets shot in the neck and dies
- 38:02He was psycho and prisoners of the ghost land harvey prinell is uh the director of the fbi
- 38:08And he was the father-in-law in the family man
- 38:11Colm fiori was dr. Walsh who gets killed in this and he was the doctor in city of angels
- 38:17John carol lynch was the shitty prison guard and he was in gotten 60 seconds
- 38:22Tom jane was in uss indianapolis. Gina gershon was an inconceivable
- 38:26And then yeah woo and cage teamed up again in windtalkers. It's like that's a fuckload of people that he's overlapped with
- 38:33in one weird movie from 1997
- 38:36Before I don't think him and joan allen have any uh scenes together in
- 38:40Before she gets raptured. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think they do either, but no that I mean, it's really interesting
- 38:45That's part of what this podcast is is how much this man fucking works. What is the movie that she gets raptured in?
- 38:51Left behind. Oh
- 38:53Oh, no, I know of it. Okay. Yeah, it's of that book series. You were joking but no
- 38:59Literally left behind. I see now a literal rapture. Okay
- 39:05So she's in like five minutes of that movie and then gets she's taking a shower it just disappears and there's like a necklace
- 39:10left in the running shower
- 39:14How how do people feel about this film like jimmy how do you where do you rate this
- 39:19Did you enjoy this? Uh the process of watching this film?
- 39:21I found myself like um, well, it's funny. I mean if we go back to just what the story is of them swapping
- 39:29Not to spaces but identity is to try to like blend into each other's uh personal lives and working work environments
- 39:36I found myself um
- 39:40Initially like man i'm watching trivolta way more in this like I don't know why but like
- 39:46I'm identifying with his acting choices and then when he becomes um
- 39:50Um, oh my gosh, i'm sorry castor droid
- 39:54Yes, you whatever you just said when he becomes
- 39:58He becomes our good guy
- 40:00um
- 40:01Our yeah our bad guy
- 40:05When they when they make the swap I actually then notice cage's acting choices more
- 40:12Um, which was actually pretty cool because initially i'm like, oh my god, this character is so too much for me
- 40:18And I don't know what i'm gonna think about this but about 30 minutes into the movie. There's like for me
- 40:24There's like a big switch from like the
- 40:27I don't know the initial onset of this like goofy villain like
- 40:30We but we see trivolta now become like quote unquote the goofy villain, but like his
- 40:36Approach at it is really cool for me and then to see cage
- 40:40Now have to embody like the good guy which
- 40:43After watching the film reading like the big thing about this movie
- 40:46Was that during that time period nicholas had only been good guys. This is actually more the character
- 40:52He typically identifies with but I don't have that um
- 40:56Experience with him in my memory at least and so I actually
- 41:01It's like I don't love the story
- 41:04But I enjoyed both of their acting
- 41:07The more the story went on but the story like is so ridiculous
- 41:11I just there's like so many moments where i'm like, okay when when
- 41:15John trivolta becomes our bad guy or when john trivolta is now bad
- 41:20I'm gonna have to just say it like that
- 41:22When he becomes when he's bad I follow the bone
- 41:26And he's in his office and he grabs his assistant's ass and she's like like kind of like
- 41:32Caught off guard but like am I into this like what was that like new dynamic in the workspace like
- 41:40That was so strange. Is it promotion week already?
- 41:43Right. I'm like, okay. This is the 90s. Like what are they trying to say?
- 41:47But his acting and that I basically start loving their acting choices after that
- 41:54Because they both have to be the very opposite of what they've been portraying thus far
- 41:58I guess you can get out but so I don't know if you saw this in any like
- 42:01Research you've done for this film that trivolta and cage spent like a week just hanging out together to learn each other's mannerisms to play each other
- 42:09So, you know, I think it's like
- 42:11And so another thing that people often don't want to know either while seeingmosts of this passion to
- 42:17Think about how far trivolta was really going, you know, I've sat on a small table with Bia
- 42:22I mean, so is trivolta still going?
- 42:24Step down, step down, step down
- 42:28Sabato
- 42:35Yeah, it's still going
- 42:38Yeah
- 42:41like crazy villain to like,
- 42:44I'm not the bad guy that you think I am.
- 42:46Or like, you know, cage being cage,
- 42:49whoever he is at the next point,
- 42:51I appreciate the mellow cage after such a heightened cage.
- 42:57Story-wise, I'm like, this is all over the place.
- 43:00But I think that actually,
- 43:01when I read about it afterwards as well,
- 43:03like people really liked the risks the movie took
- 43:07in comparison to everything else that came out.
- 43:09And that was sort of the big reaction I feel like
- 43:13I ended up having when watching Ghost Rider afterwards.
- 43:18It's like, oh wow, like this movie feels so unsafe
- 43:21in comparison to something that feels so like placid
- 43:25or like even tempered the entire time,
- 43:27like that I can predict everything.
- 43:30Where like there are moments in,
- 43:33there's sharks, there's LL Cool J.
- 43:35Oh, Deep Blue Sea.
- 43:37Yeah, like there's moments of face-off
- 43:40that remind me of Deep Blue Sea
- 43:42where it's just a little ridiculous,
- 43:44but like at least I'm still engaged
- 43:46and I like wanna stay like committed
- 43:48to watching the whole time,
- 43:50which is not my experience with Ghost Rider.
- 43:52So like this was, in that sense,
- 43:54it was like a better movie
- 43:56because at least I was like drawn in.
- 43:59I think before we get into the final question,
- 44:01I do have one other question about this movie
- 44:03that I wanna ask.
- 44:04Does anyone else find it weird that Sean Archer decides
- 44:06to like adopt a child who will inevitably grow up
- 44:09to look like the man who murdered their son?
- 44:12I've never liked that part of the plot
- 44:15and I forgot about it again
- 44:17and I hate that you brought it back up.
- 44:19They removed that after audiences hated it
- 44:23and then they put it back for the final cut.
- 44:26Just like the penises.
- 44:29Just why?
- 44:31Yeah, it's terrible.
- 44:32Here's your new brother
- 44:33and then she just fucking facepalms.
- 44:36I respect almost every choice that this movie makes.
- 44:41I do not like the face touching.
- 44:44It's just so dumb and forced.
- 44:46And everyone doing it.
- 44:48Yeah, and I do not like little boy returnal,
- 44:52but I like the gunfight in the church.
- 44:56That was a great gunfight.
- 44:58I like the combination car and airplane chase
- 45:03because that's always awesome.
- 45:06I love a boat chase and this has a sick boat chase
- 45:10even with like jumps and stuff in it.
- 45:13That's good.
- 45:14It's got prison fights.
- 45:15I don't know.
- 45:16I like the prison fight.
- 45:17They just kinda look, yeah.
- 45:19They just sorta looked around and they're like,
- 45:21these are all cool things.
- 45:24These are cool things that make movies cooler.
- 45:26And then there's just the stupid attempt
- 45:29at making an emotional climax.
- 45:33We do have one update from the last time
- 45:35we talked about this movie to now.
- 45:37Oh. How?
- 45:38We've suffered for five days.
- 45:40We no longer have to say Danny Masterson's
- 45:42an accused rapist.
- 45:44Oh, that's true.
- 45:44He's a fucker.
- 45:45Oh my God, I forgot about this.
- 45:48That's an aged scene.
- 45:50Terribly.
- 45:51I do regret that there isn't an extended scene
- 45:54of the daughter just flipping around
- 45:57and being really good with the butterfly knife.
- 46:00All she did was practice for three weeks straight.
- 46:03And it would only be a cut of the hand
- 46:06and it would be somebody else's hand,
- 46:08doing all the flips and flicks.
- 46:10Somebody with hairy knuckles.
- 46:13Yeah.
- 46:14You know what?
- 46:14We can edit that scene from Kick Ass into this movie
- 46:17and give you what you want.
- 46:19Yeah.
- 46:20Just flip it around and then when it gets
- 46:22to the end of the cut, you just run it back in reverse.
- 46:25So it's really long.
- 46:26So we know like, oh yeah, that is the daughter's
- 46:29really hairy fist.
- 46:30She got it from her dad.
- 46:34So in terms of this film, where do we put Cage in this film?
- 46:41Yeah, Venn diagram.
- 46:42What's our scale?
- 46:43Good and bad.
- 46:44Yeah, scale is too complicated, Jimmy.
- 46:48You know, it's like, I don't know if I still
- 46:50don't know if I like Nicolas Cage.
- 46:52But to get to see both of them opposite each other
- 46:57and both have to play two characters,
- 46:59I did end up enjoying the ridiculousness
- 47:03and the like good guy portrayal from Cage.
- 47:08And then I just, I'm still like, I
- 47:12feel like I need to watch it a third time
- 47:14so I can still wrap my head around what smorgasbord
- 47:18of a story I just watched.
- 47:20Like, there's like the big beats.
- 47:22Like, OK, like in everyone's favorite beat,
- 47:24bringing the child at the end.
- 47:26I would love to beat that child.
- 47:28Oh my god.
- 47:29Oh, come on.
- 47:31Whoa, we didn't even do good child, bad child.
- 47:33That's a bad child.
- 47:35That's a bad kid.
- 47:37Out of here.
- 47:38All right, so where do you guys put this one
- 47:40on re-watching Face Off?
- 47:43I am not.
- 47:45This movie has its highs, but between them
- 47:49is a lot of nothing.
- 47:50Like, it's got great scenes with a lot of just,
- 47:53it's a John Woo film.
- 47:54It's a long film with great action and a lot of artsy,
- 47:59this is interesting, but not a great film it makes.
- 48:04It's a razor thin plot, but it's all action.
- 48:09And it's an action movie.
- 48:11It still has good laughs.
- 48:13I think it's a good good for me.
- 48:15I like this movie.
- 48:16I really enjoy Nick Cage's performance in it.
- 48:19I like how much scenery is chewed in this film.
- 48:22I don't like the movie.
- 48:25So Jimmy, I think I know the answer,
- 48:27but if you could pick and your vote doesn't really matter,
- 48:30what would you pick to move forward between these two?
- 48:34It's probably the one I like the least, like objectively.
- 48:40Or no, no, no, was that the right word?
- 48:42Like the one I artistically don't like?
- 48:44Yeah, it's probably Face Off.
- 48:47It's got to be.
- 48:48Well, action wise, action wise, it's got to be this one.
- 48:52I think Face Off.
- 48:54I almost feel like there's not enough action in Dose Rider.
- 48:57That's fair.
- 48:59I don't remember much action.
- 49:02All the fight scenes are very short.
- 49:05Flamy driving or flamy riding.
- 49:09It's all CG.
- 49:10Sean, what do you think?
- 49:12When you put it that way, when you put it down
- 49:14to what's the better action film,
- 49:16it is definitely Face Off.
- 49:18I personally enjoy the stupidity of Ghost Rider more,
- 49:22and I can like sit back and turn my brain off more.
- 49:25Whereas when I watch Face Off, I have so many questions
- 49:28about choices in the story.
- 49:31And I am less engaged with Face Off because
- 49:34of the script and choices.
- 49:36But in terms of action set pieces and action film,
- 49:40it is the better choice.
- 49:42And it is the better performance.
- 49:44And I've maneuvered this perfectly
- 49:46because I agree with the statements
- 49:48I forced you all to make.
- 49:50It is the better movie.
- 49:52Mastercraft.
- 49:53Yeah, I've been working on this.
- 49:55Ever since Primal?
- 49:56Yeah.
- 49:57No, you got primal.
- 50:01Krewit Jack.
- 50:01Can I ask which one's more memorable to people?
- 50:04I don't know.
- 50:05I do the weird dumb point thing so much more
- 50:07than I do the face thing.
- 50:09Well, if you started doing the face thing,
- 50:12the podcast would be over.
- 50:13We would not do it anymore.
- 50:14Also, we're all glasses wearers.
- 50:16I put up with a lot of shit from you,
- 50:18but I'm not going to put up with the face thing.
- 50:22OK.
- 50:22Yeah.
- 50:23That was episode one of season two.
- 50:25Nice work.
- 50:25Yeah.
- 50:26I feel like we came to the correct choice.
- 50:28Thank you, Jimmy.
- 50:29Thanks for having me.
- 50:31Now I'm going to go watch Spirit of Vengeance.
- 50:33You should.
- 50:34It's a lark.
- 50:35It's got Idris Elba in it, doing a terrible French accent.
- 50:39Yeah.
- 50:40You got anything you want to pitch or sell to our listeners?
- 50:42Yeah, where can we find you?
- 50:44Yeah.
- 50:45You can find me on only, no, you can find me on,
- 50:52find me on, what's the popular one?
- 50:54Instagram, J-I-M-M-I-E underscore H-E-R-R-O-D,
- 51:00where I occasionally post.
- 51:02And I'm playing shows all over.
- 51:04I should be playing some shows in Washington in January,
- 51:09I believe.
- 51:11We're international, though, Jimmy.
- 51:12Yeah.
- 51:13We've got fans everywhere.
- 51:14Hey, we reached top 25 in Germany for movie review podcasts
- 51:18at one point.
- 51:19Like David Hasselhoff before us.
- 51:21Yeah, exactly.
- 51:23But then I think my scathing review of Wings of Desire.
- 51:26That fucked everything up.
- 51:27It did.
- 51:28Fuck.
- 51:29All right, go ahead, Jimmy.
- 51:31No, that's, I mean, I'm bouncing all over.
- 51:36That sounded specific.
- 51:37Yeah, I'm doing stuff all over the place.
- 51:40So if you go on there, you'll see
- 51:42whatever I've got going on.
- 51:44But thanks for having me.
- 51:46Thank you all for listening.
- 51:48Please rate, review, subscribe.
- 51:49Thanks for coming back for season two.

- 52:04Oh, yeah.
- 52:05Wait.
- 52:05Oh, is it not anymore?
- 52:07No, no, it's something else.
- 52:09Yeah, it's the like Twitter.
- 52:11Yeah, John, Josh, Josh, Dory, the creator of Twitter created
- 52:16blue sky.
- 52:17Jack Dorsey.
- 52:18Jack, you're getting there.
- 52:20You were close.
- 52:21Xander cage.
- 52:22Yeah.
- 52:23So we're on that too.
- 52:24I can't remember how you actually give people information
- 52:26on how you can connect on that thing.
- 52:28So find out.
- 52:30Figure it out.
- 52:31If you're on blue sky, which most of you aren't.
- 52:32Right.
- 52:33And if you are interested in supporting us,
- 52:36we are on Patreon at cage match.
- 52:38And thank you to our Sparkle buddies, Josh, Sean,
- 52:40Josie, Rico, Matt, and Adam and our cage dancers, Ira, John,
- 52:44Freeman, and Lance.
- 52:45I still notice Meredith hasn't joined any of these tiers.
- 52:50Yeah.
- 52:51Mm.
- 52:53Stay strong.
- 52:53Don't give us your money.
- 52:55Yeah, we don't need it anymore.
- 52:56We got these nice microphones.
- 52:57True.
- 52:57Yeah.
- 52:58How do you like this mouth noises, Meredith?
- 53:00Nom, nom, nom.
- 53:01Ugh.
- 53:02Gross.
- 53:03Also, keep this in because I'm going to text them like, hey,
- 53:06we started our second season.
- 53:07I want you to give me feedback on the new microphone.
- 53:10And mouth noises.
- 53:11And mouth noises.
- 53:12Yeah.
- 53:13They understand.
- 53:14Oh, don't do that.
- 53:17I've been practicing.
- 53:19I can tell.
- 53:19That was actually much better.
- 53:22Right back to disappointment.
- 53:23I'm fucking going home.
- 53:25Bye bye.
- 53:26Bye bye.
- 53:27Bye bye.
- 53:38OK.
- 53:39Yeah.
- 53:40Yeah.
- 53:40We're professionals.
- 53:42Season two, baby.
- 53:44The bar has been lowered.
- 53:47Better equipment, worse show.
- 53:49I mean, now you hear all our mouth noises.
- 53:52All of them.
- 53:58Thank you for being on.
- 53:59Yeah, it was a real pleasure.
- 54:00I got to ask you to explain how, when I asked you
- 54:03how to pronounce your name, what you texted me.
- 54:06Can you run through that?
- 54:08Because that is fucking hilarious.
- 54:09Yeah, just my last name.
- 54:11No.
- 54:13People ask me how to pronounce my last name.
- 54:15Because I think it's not a hybrid intentionally,
- 54:18but it is a mix of two spellings of the same name.
- 54:21You have the king who kills his children in the Bible, King
- 54:24Herod.
- 54:25And then you've got the department store in Britain,
- 54:29which is like H-A-R-R-O-D. And my name is H-E-R-R-O-D.
- 54:34And so I always say her rod, girl with a rod.
- 54:38And then I was like, just in case there's confusion
- 54:40about how to say Jimmy or Jai Mai or whatever,
- 54:45I said the J-I is like the sound in jizz.
- 54:48And then the M-M-I-E is like in me.
- 54:53And that is what my AGT following wants to hear.
- 54:59That's so perfect.
- 55:00Thank you so much for that.
- 55:01God damn it.
- 55:01That's just a mental image of saying like fucking peg me.
- 55:06Yeah.
