- 0:45Hi there Adam here and in this hypnosis session, which by the
- 0:49way is a very short hypnosis session, is designed to relieve
- 0:55a tension headache and. I was.
- 0:56Working with a client and I could tell from their facial
- 0:59expressions that they had some kind of pain or migraine or
- 1:04something going on and, and they did.
- 1:07And I said, well look, let's just do a very quick hypnosis
- 1:10session to help them release that because a lot of the time
- 1:15tension headaches are coming from the tightness of muscles or
- 1:20the change in. Breathing.
- 1:21And, and just the the overall kind of stress levels.
- 1:24So reducing that can actually release a tension headache very,
- 1:28very quickly. Now there's other headaches that
- 1:31this wouldn't work for, but if it's linked to tension, then you
- 1:35might find it's very helpful. It utilizes something called
- 1:38progressive relaxation, but also the suggestions of releasing the
- 1:43very tension that may be caused. So the ideal way to benefit from
- 1:48this very short hypnosis session is to find a quiet, comfortable
- 1:52place, ideally where you're not going to be disturbed or
- 1:54interrupted, and to relax and enjoy the session.
- 2:43Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in a
- 2:53sense of relaxation, and as you exhale, give permission to
- 3:01release tension. Just imagine that tension
- 3:07leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 3:13I'd like you to imagine a colour that would represent pure
- 3:19concentrated relaxation for you. Maybe a bright colour, maybe a
- 3:27calming colour. And as you breathe in, just
- 3:34imagine breathing in that specific colour of pure
- 3:41distilled relaxation. Imagine the colour going into
- 3:49your mouth, up your nostrils, down into your lungs.
- 3:53And imagine that colour in your lungs, the colour of pure
- 4:00concentrated relaxation. And then imagine your heart
- 4:11doing what it does with oxygen, but doing it with the
- 4:15relaxation. Imagine your heart absorbing
- 4:20that relaxation and distributing it to every cell in your body.
- 4:28In the same way that when you breathe in oxygen and exhale
- 4:35carbon dioxide, you don't need to think about that, your body
- 4:42just does it. So imagine breathing in that
- 4:47distilled relaxation and exhaling tension in your outward
- 4:54breath, breathing in that colour of relaxation.
- 5:00And then imagine exhaling grey shadows, and the shadows
- 5:06represent any stress, any tension, any worries.
- 5:17So breath by breath, you could imagine the tension leaving your
- 5:26body, and in particular imagine that color of concentrated
- 5:34relaxation, the tiny muscles around your face, head, neck and
- 5:42shoulders. Focus on the tiny muscles of
- 5:47your forehead and think about expressions that need those
- 5:52muscles, expressions like concern or surprise, and just
- 6:01imagine those muscles releasing any tension.
- 6:09And then focus on your eyelids, breathing in that relaxation and
- 6:16releasing any tension in and around the eyes.
- 6:23And now focus on your temple, those tiny muscles that sit
- 6:32right between your eyes and your hair, and just imagine some
- 6:43stretchy elastic being pulled tight.
- 6:48And then imagine releasing that tension in the elastic.
- 6:54And as you do that, just imagine any tension in your temples is
- 6:59being released. Allow that relaxation to ripple
- 7:03down into your jaw, feeling the jaw become more relaxed, more
- 7:12loose, more comfortable. And then focus on your neck and
- 7:17your shoulders. And just imagine any tension
- 7:22being like crystals of ice fused into your muscle tissue.
- 7:30And just allow those crystals of ice to melt away.
- 7:36And as they melt away, feel the sense of looseness, almost like
- 7:45your head is now a balloon on some string just floating.
- 7:50Now. You feel light, you feel relaxed
- 7:58and allow that relaxation to ripple down your arms.
- 8:04Just imagine what your arms would feel like if they were
- 8:07limp and loose and relax just like the arms of a puppet with
- 8:12no strings. And then imagine all of your
- 8:22internal organs starting to relax.
- 8:26Allow your heart to relax. Allow your vocal cords to relax,
- 8:31the tiny muscles inside your throat to relax.
- 8:36Breathing gets easier and more effortless.
- 8:39Relax the muscles in your chest and then down into the stomach
- 8:44and then your diaphragm. That muscle responsible for
- 8:49hiccups. Imagine that, relaxing now so
- 8:57you can breathe in deeper and exhale for longer, continuing to
- 9:02breathe in relaxation and exhale tension.
- 9:10Consider this like an emotional transfusion, breathing in the
- 9:16resources that you need and exhaling anything that is
- 9:22getting in the way of you feeling confident and relaxed.
- 9:31And if your neck and shoulders is the bank account of stress,
- 9:36then your gut is the bank account of anxiety.
- 9:42So as you breathe in that colour of concentrated relaxation,
- 9:47imagine that colour going down into your gut, all of those tiny
- 9:55internal muscles just behind your belly button.
- 9:59Just imagine that tension, anxiety and worry also melting
- 10:06away, giving you a feeling of becoming more and more relaxed.
- 10:13And allow that to ripple down into your legs.
- 10:17So your legs can also feel limp, loose and heavy and all the way
- 10:25down into your feet, tough muscles, your ankle, even the
- 10:31tiny tendons on your toes allow them all to relax.
- 10:38And I want you to think, think of something that you are
- 10:44incredibly competent at, something where you just know
- 10:51you can do that thing. Well.
- 10:56Maybe you can remember a time when you did something in a
- 11:00state of flow, feeling effortlessly relaxed while doing
- 11:04that thing. And imagine stepping into that
- 11:11version of you, a version of you relaxed and calm and confident
- 11:18and almost feel like you are updating the software of your
- 11:23brain to feel like that way. That's it.
- 11:29Increase the relaxation, release the tension, and start to feel
- 11:36the thoughts of what if something goes wrong are being
- 11:41replaced with what if they go well.
- 11:47That inner dialogue is becoming more encouraging, more positive.
- 11:53Just get a sense that you're feeling better and better with
- 11:57every breath. Any tension around your head is
- 12:02melting away. You're feeling confident and
- 12:07calm and relaxed with every outward breath that's in.
- 12:19It's time to recalibrate with the present, but take these
- 12:22wonderful feelings with you. Feeling of calmness, feeling of
- 12:28flow, a feeling of equilibrium and balance.
- 12:36That's it. I will count from one to 10 and
- 12:42when I arrive at 10, you will keep the relaxation fully in the
- 12:47here and the now. Starting to count 123.
- 12:52Starting to wake 456. More alert 7-8.
- 12:56Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 12:59Wide awake, Wide awake. Wide awake.
