Why Parents Need to Value Play More
In this new podcast, Dr. Jordan describes the value of kids having the autonomy to choose their activities, engage in free play with some degree of risk, and teaching them to ask questions about why they love certain activities in order to discover what they love, what puts them in flow, and what fulfills them. Uncertain times require personal responsibility, independence of thought, self-initiative, self-assertion, flexibility, a willingness to take risks, and self-knowledge.
So, we need to parent with these ends in mind.
