- 1:03Hey listeners, Jeff Zimfer, host of the Mortgage Marketing Radio Podcast.
- 1:13Got a question for you.
- 1:14Do you ever ask yourself how you can be more intentional?
- 1:20You know, a lot of us have good intentions, but we often lack being intentional.
- 1:25And believe it or not, I'm a believer that there's usually a system or a process, right,
- 1:30of recipe that you can follow to get a better result.
- 1:35Whether that's if you want to be in better health, you want to have better relationships,
- 1:38you want to be better at learning, a new skill, right?
- 1:41It all comes down to a process and procedure to create those learnings and efficiencies.
- 1:47And I think it's the same as well when we are looking to how do we show up and be more
- 1:51intentional, effective, purpose-driven in our lives.
- 1:55And that's what my special guest, David Meltzer, talks about on this week's episode.
- 2:00And we're going to get started in just a moment.
- 2:03All right, so welcome to the Mortgage Marketing Radio Podcast.
- 2:05So glad you've tuned into this very special, exclusive episode.
- 2:10Sometimes pursuing what you want, pursuing your intentions, your passion, your purpose
- 2:15takes time, but ultimately it's worth it.
- 2:17And today's guest is a great example of that.
- 2:20I have secured for us today.
- 2:24Gentlemen, David Meltzer is the co-founder of Sports One Marketing and formally served
- 2:28as the CEO of Lee Steinberg Sports and Entertainment, which was the inspiration for the movie, Jerry
- 2:36McGuire.
- 2:37So you guys have may have heard of that movie.
- 2:39You may have heard of Lee Steinberg Sports.
- 2:42And David today, it's interesting, his life has transitioned and today is all about his
- 2:49mission, his purpose actually is to empower over one billion people to be happy.
- 2:54And if you want to know how that came about, how David made the shift from being a high-powered
- 2:58CEO, right, to what he's doing today, this episode will reveal that to you.
- 3:06And the challenge for the episode today was, David's very tight on time.
- 3:12He did a favor, made 20 minutes available on his calendar.
- 3:16And so I had like one or two things I could ask him about.
- 3:18So I asked him about being intentional and the process and steps procedures system for
- 3:27being more intentional and giving attention to your intention.
- 3:32And so he's going to walk us through the five steps about having more intention showing
- 3:36up with more purpose in your life.
- 3:38So you can make more progress and ultimately be more happy.
- 3:41That's what today's episode is all about.
- 3:43And if you want to be more intentional with your referrals from real estate agents, your
- 3:48relationships, creating an awareness for you and attracting real estate agents to you
- 3:54in your local market, well, hey, you can go check out mortgagemarketing.pro because
- 3:58let's face it, rates are up, refies are down and purchase businesses where it's at in
- 4:03the future.
- 4:04But the challenge is a lot of loan officers have now pivoted like you're probably doing
- 4:09as well to go pursue chase hunt call agents.
- 4:12And there's a lot of noise and there's a lot of resistance from agents.
- 4:15Therefore you need a better process to be able to rise above the noise, reverse the
- 4:19prospecting and attract agents to you instead of chasing agents.
- 4:23And the good news is is we at the mortgage marketing institute have that platform for you.
- 4:27It's called my agent classes where it's a turn key plug and play system to lead with
- 4:32education in your local market virtually over zoom or in person, sharing high value relevant
- 4:37classes that are simple and easy to teach.
- 4:40Just plug and play point and click and you too will be able to attract agents to your
- 4:45classes share content that makes a difference in their business drive conversations that
- 4:50lead to relationships and referrals.
- 4:51You can learn more about that by going to mortgage marketing.pro.
- 4:55So without further ado, let's get into this week's special guest, David Meltzer.
- 5:01David, welcome to the show.
- 5:04Thank you so much.
- 5:05It's great opportunity to share lessons and stories in a brief amount of time, hopefully
- 5:09to have as much impact as I can.
- 5:12And that's what I've discovered that you do is definitely have a impact in a brief
- 5:18period of time.
- 5:19I've been obviously diving into your podcast and consuming your content to prepare for
- 5:22this.
- 5:23We have less than 20 minutes, so there's gosh so much we could have talked about, but
- 5:27I'm going to focus in on this.
- 5:30And I wanted to talk about this concept of being intentional.
- 5:35And one of the things I've been talking about lately is everyone has, well not everyone,
- 5:39but ideally everyone has good intentions, right?
- 5:41But they're not necessarily intentional with their intentions.
- 5:46And you have something you talk about if I'm correct, like the five levels of intention,
- 5:49is that correct?
- 5:50Oh yeah, you're hitting on a great spot for me.
- 5:52So I love this.
- 5:53Where this is going.
- 5:54Certainly.
- 5:55So I'll walk us through that if you don't mind.
- 5:56Yeah, well, you know, I coach a lot of people and it's so interesting.
- 6:00You see the patterns of human behavior and human nature and one of those patterns is
- 6:05people will tell you, you know, Mr. Meltzer, I feel like I'm doing all the right things,
- 6:10but I'm not getting the results.
- 6:12And I said, that's because there's four more levels of intention because they try to utilize
- 6:17what I call the mathematical equation of luck.
- 6:19Let you focus in on pay attention to plus what you give intention to equals the coincidences
- 6:24in your life.
- 6:25And people, when the coincidences in your life align with what you want, people are like,
- 6:29oh my gosh, how's Dave Meltzer so lucky as that beautiful family, all this money blah,
- 6:33blah, blah.
- 6:34No, I'm just intentional and I focus in on what I want.
- 6:38So you have to do more than just do what you're focusing in on.
- 6:43And then the second level of client I have says, Mr. Meltzer, I'm doing and saying all
- 6:49the right things, but it's not coming to me either.
- 6:51And I said, that's because you're missing three levels.
- 6:53And then they say to me, Mr. Meltzer, and I got this, I'm doing saying and thinking
- 6:57all the right things.
- 6:58I've read Napoleon Hill and all that's still not enough.
- 7:02And they say, well, go read something like Wayne Dyer Power of Intention and now they
- 7:06come back and say, I got it.
- 7:08I'm doing saying thinking and believing all the right things, but yet I still feel stuck.
- 7:14I'm not getting the results.
- 7:16And that's because when you hit the fifth level of intention, you are living in what
- 7:21I call infinite time, infinite patience where things become rapid and accurate in their
- 7:25manner because when you have all five levels of engine, which is you do the right things,
- 7:31you say what you want, you think what you want, you believe it and feel it.
- 7:36When you're feeling it, you've cleared away all the interference and that which already
- 7:40exists comes to you rapidly and accurately.
- 7:43And so I teach these five levels of intention to make sure that they're aligned with what
- 7:48you want, what's important to you, not the people that's missing or what you don't want,
- 7:52knowing the ego-based consciousnesses that interfere with what you want that is already
- 7:57there in a value add world, not a zero sum world where you have to go get it, you don't
- 8:02have to go get anything.
- 8:03You have to be intentional.
- 8:04You have to focus in on and prioritize what you want, who you can help, who can help
- 8:09you, how best to get it done.
- 8:10And if you prioritize that with all five levels of intention, being disciplined, you know,
- 8:15people talk, you suffer from discipline or you suffer from regret.
- 8:19So let's be disciplined, coherent, let's say, do, think, believe, and most of all, when
- 8:25you feel it, you know you're in spirit, inspired and things are coming rapidly.
- 8:29There's one last thing that I add to it is through this process, people attach their
- 8:34emotions to the outcome, they attach their, I'll be happy when, this will be successful
- 8:38when, and what I suggest is that you utilize outcomes as a focal point of what you want,
- 8:45but then use the cause to put your attention and intention into.
- 8:50So the interval between a cause and an outcome, a cause and an effect is called time.
- 8:55And if you focus all your attention and intention on to the outcome, you will slow down time.
- 9:02If you put it on the cause, you will speed up time.
- 9:05So everyone needs to utilize attention and intention with all five levels by setting
- 9:10forth outcomes or goals or objectives or milestones, but making sure that what they
- 9:15do say, think, believe, and feel are in the realm of the cause by enjoying the consistent
- 9:22persistent pursuit of whatever they want of happiness of their potential, not like my
- 9:28friend Chris Gardner wrote in his book in the Will Smith movie, you know, is pursuit of
- 9:33happiness? No, no, happiness is the pursuit.
- 9:36Yeah. So, so is that, I mean, that's a sound cliche, but it's, it's, you know, success is
- 9:41a process, right? It's a journey, not a destination.
- 9:44Yeah. And it's, it's simple, you know, trite statements that people are afraid of because
- 9:48it seems so simple, but it is. The universe loves simple. It's exact. So if you can
- 9:54contextually, simply state a complex, you know, activity like success or happiness into
- 10:02a simple term of, you know, enjoy the journey, believe it, there's a lot unpacked there
- 10:06as I've aforementioned in the conscious subconscious and unconscious world that we can do.
- 10:12So if I'm following this correctly, do say, think, believe, feel, we're talking about
- 10:17being an alignment on all five of those things. Absolutely. And if you're short on one of
- 10:22those things, it's going to create resistance for wage shortages and obstacles and slow
- 10:25down the process. And so through that alignment, you will find a rapid and accurate process
- 10:32to manifest what you desire. Do they need to flow in that order to create momentum and
- 10:37progress? They don't. And I put them in the level of vibration or frequency. So everything
- 10:43vibrates in the world. The plants minerals vibrate the slowest and plants and animals
- 10:49and then humans and then sound, which is saying, right? And then light, then thought, then
- 10:55the truth. And so you can only be aware of that, which equals or is less than the vibration
- 11:02you carry. So although you can skip some steps, vibrationally, you will, you know, slow
- 11:08down the process. If you're just thinking the right things, but saying it, you're going
- 11:12to be counterproductive. If you think positively, but you're attacking and you have judgments
- 11:18and separations, or, you know, maybe you feel good about it, but you're not doing the
- 11:22work, right? This happens a lot. So those will interfere as well. But the highest frequencies
- 11:27are the most potent frequencies. And those are in order of vibration or frequency or awareness.
- 11:33So it seems like people have to check in with themselves. The other thing that stood out
- 11:38for me in relation to this, this concept is be intentional with your intention, right?
- 11:44Did I say with your attention? Yeah. Intentional with your attention. Because how do you know
- 11:48when you're off track? Right? I guess it feels something out of sync or, you know, in a
- 11:52place you've got to talk about giving attention to your intention. How do you do that on
- 11:57a daily basis? Yeah. So I've created five daily practices. And let me take a step back
- 12:02beyond, you know, the values of gratitude, forgiveness, accountability and this feeling
- 12:07of inspiration. Let me take a step before that that a lot of people don't talk about.
- 12:11Even the greatest inspires and motivators. And that's a pragmatic tool that I love to
- 12:17teach people. And it's called coherence. And coherence has two components to it that
- 12:23are enabling you or making you capable of utilizing the intention that you want to give.
- 12:29The first is remember what you want and to do it. So I sound silly, but you know, I
- 12:37have a gratitude challenge. And it's not just to teach gratitude, which is the common
- 12:41denominator of happiness, no matter how sick or well, taller, short, richer, poor gratitude
- 12:46is the common denominator of happiness. But I have the challenge to teach coherence because
- 12:51it's remarkable that everyone will agree gratitude is so powerful and it will change
- 12:55your life. But most people that agree with me by tonight won't say thank you. By tomorrow
- 13:01morning, won't say thank you. And with three days, almost all of us won't say thank you.
- 13:05Why? Because nobody's stressing the importance of coherence. I got to teach you how to remember
- 13:11to do something and do it before I can tell you the most powerful things to remember and
- 13:16the most powerful things to do, think, say, believe and feel. So I teach coherence first
- 13:21through what I think is the most powerful lesson in life, gratitude, the perspective that
- 13:26you need to be happy. So I teach coherence, then coherence to the values of gratitude for
- 13:31giving us accountability and inspiration. Now the daily practices make sense because
- 13:36remember the first word of daily practices daily. If you're not doing them daily, if you
- 13:40don't know what you want personally, experimentally giving and receiving wise, in conjunction
- 13:46with your mid and long term goals, not being afraid of changing your mind, because look,
- 13:50everyone out there, when you change your mind, when you're considered to be a hypocrite,
- 13:53you actually are learning, this is a good thing. And we should not put judgment, conditions
- 13:58and separations on to people who learn. I look for only fast learners to work with because
- 14:03those are the people that expand, grow and accelerate the most. But if you know what you want,
- 14:07then you can determine who you could be of service to and who can be service to you.
- 14:12In other words, I'm creating a world, an abundant world of sponsors and power sponsors.
- 14:17So you remember a sponsor, someone that knows someone that can help you or know someone
- 14:21that you can help or more importantly, a power sponsor, someone that can actually help
- 14:24you or you can help. And you know others that can help or not help. And so if you know
- 14:31you're what and you're who, then you can execute on all these pragmatic tools that I teach,
- 14:36you know, in all my books, you know, the five, 20 rule, the three, no rule, the 25, no
- 14:40student in the calendar. But they, in essence, allow you to have a lens of productivity of
- 14:45value, because you need, in order to determine your potential, you have to provide value.
- 14:51Then you can have accessibility, which means not only being accessible to more, but being
- 14:56accessible to what you want. So once you know and to provide value, now you have to serve
- 15:01it well and to many in order to make it profitable. So I teach people about creating value, but
- 15:08also how to serve that value well to the many, which creates profitability, which allows
- 15:13us then to prioritize. Prioritization is the antidote to procrastination. It's an
- 15:18antidote to feeling overwhelmed. Eisenhower is a great matrix, right? Importance versus
- 15:24urgency, urgency is a subset of importance. Basically, here's the problem, just like coherence,
- 15:30people don't remember or do, well, they don't know how to prioritize. So they stick their stock
- 15:36because they don't know what's important to them. They don't know what to do, who they
- 15:40can help or how to get it. If you know your priorities, you'll do it out. A hundred percent
- 15:46of things do now get done totally, statistically successful, of course. But more importantly,
- 15:51when things arise that you don't have planned, you know exactly where to fit them in your
- 15:55life. They don't slow you down or interfere with your current plans because you have a
- 16:00format or a structure that allows you to prioritize. The biggest difference that occurs by prioritization
- 16:05is that instead of searching for your why, instead of searching to be happy, healthy,
- 16:10wealthy, you actually start having faith of what you're connected to and through. And I'm
- 16:16mission all powerful, knowing source that loves you more than your mom does. What does that mean?
- 16:21I am happy. I am healthy. I am wealthy. I am worthy. Let me use the five levels of intention
- 16:27to figure out what I'm doing to interfere with it. Wow. That's cool. Hey, for people who want
- 16:32to learn more about you, your book, where should they go? You know, it's real simple. You can
- 16:35Google me. I'm everywhere. David Meltzer or just email me directly. I answer all my emails

- 16:56reaching directly out to me at David at demeltzer.com. Thanks. We'll put that in the show for sure.
- 17:01And so let's close out on this because it's an interesting how we just segwayed into this. You
- 17:05also have a life mission to empower over a billion people to be happy. And that makes me really
- 17:10curious how you shifted from being the co-founder of sports one marketing and former CEO of
- 17:15Least Dimeberg Sports Center to how did you shift from that to this? That's amazing that you
- 17:21asked that because probably the most terrifying shift in my life and you know I went from selling
- 17:27legal research online to middleware to CEO of Samsung to Least Dimeberg to sports one marketing
- 17:33of the Warren Moon. Well, I'm walking the beach after my daughter told me a 13 year old daughter
- 17:38that her friend committed suicide and I am beyond lost. I am walking the beach and I realized
- 17:47as I still get choked up that I'm in the house and that I'm serving anyone by utilizing it just
- 17:56to make money. I needed to utilize it to make money, help people have fun as my mission statement
- 18:02in life. And I could teach my daily practices and my values to people like you who could teach
- 18:10it to a thousand people to teach it to a thousand people and I could change the collective consciousness
- 18:15or the world by empowering others to empower others to be happy. And I came home and told my wife
- 18:21from this walk in the beach with tears in my eyes. She says what is it? I said what I'm going to
- 18:26tell you is going to tear you but I'm changing my life's mission. And she said what is it going to
- 18:32be now? And you gotta remember I lost over a hundred million dollars 15 years earlier. We had
- 18:37made back everything we're sitting in our beautiful beach home. You know everything in our life is
- 18:42better than I can dream of four beautiful children and now I look at it after we finally come back
- 18:48with everything the right way and tell her I want to empower over a billion people to be happy
- 18:53to create a collective consciousness to change the world. And this is what makes my wife so
- 18:58wonderful. She didn't even blink. She said okay how can I be of help? I love you it sounds like
- 19:04a great great thing. And I was like I got chills thinking about it and that's what I've been doing
- 19:11here now by building my own brand and providing free content every Friday all over the internet.
- 19:17And I'm teaching things that I know will provide this abundance, this happiness for everyone to
- 19:22share. Yeah I love that. Thank you for sharing that. And by the way that went based on her response
- 19:27that's I'm sure you knew this already but that was just reaffirmation that you made the right choice.
