Speaker 1: Hey, I'm Ben. I have OCD, I'm codependent, and my
• 0:03
Speaker 1: mom's a therapist, so I've been talking about my feelings
• 0:06
Speaker 1: ever since I learned to talk.
• 0:07
  Speaker 2: And I'm Kevin. I'm a recovering people pleaser, and I'm
• 0:10
Speaker 2: so codependent, I've been mediating my parents' divorce for the
• 0:14
  Speaker 2: past four years.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: And we're the hosts of Free Therapy, because we think
• 0:17
Speaker 1: everyone could use a little bit of therapy.
• 0:19
Speaker 2: Especially us. That's why each week we sit down with
• 0:22
Speaker 2: a different therapist to talk through the things that we're
• 0:25
  Speaker 2: all dealing with.
• 0:26
Speaker 3: If you're trying to get rid of anxiety, you're actually
• 0:30
Speaker 3: fueling more anxiety. We have hundreds and thousands of thoughts
• 0:35
Speaker 3: a day. Most of them are trash. You can put
• 0:38
Speaker 3: a lot of them in the spam folder.
• 0:40
Speaker 1: We talked to some of the leading therapists in the
• 0:42
Speaker 1: country about all of life's headaches, work, family dynamics, and
• 0:46
Speaker 1: of course, dating and relationships.
• 0:48
Speaker 4: Everyone chooses a different set of problems, challenges, flaws. You
• 0:53
Speaker 4: have to figure out which set of problems you're willing
• 0:55
  Speaker 4: to work with.
• 0:56
Speaker 2: And Ben, what's the one question we're all trying to
• 0:59
  Speaker 2: figure out?
• 0:59
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, this comes up so much. How are we
• 1:02
Speaker 1: defining a modern masculine man? A lot has changed since
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: our parents' generation.
• 1:07
Speaker 5: If you don't need to depend on a man for
• 1:10
Speaker 5: resources and to provide, what does a man contribute to
• 1:14
Speaker 5: a relationship? The needs are more emotional.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: There's so much we get into on the show, but
• 1:19
Speaker 2: if there's one thing we constantly remind ourselves of, It's
• 1:23
Speaker 2: exactly what therapist Leah Miller told us.
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: You're not incurable.
• 1:26
Speaker 5: You're not broken. You're having a normal human experience.
• 1:30
Speaker 3: And we have a solution for that.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: And that solution is free therapy.
• 1:33
Speaker 2: Because therapy is expensive.
• 1:35
Speaker 1: But thankfully, podcasts aren't.
• 1:37
Speaker 2: Listen to Free Therapy with Ben and Kevin wherever you
• 1:39
  Speaker 2: get your podcasts.
