- Jessica Figueroa: Hey listeners. Our lesson for today on this Just For Today podcast is for all my chatty Kathes out there. Raise your hand. I'm raising mine if you're a chatty Kathy. If you're not a chatty Kathy, today's not as applicable to you, but you can still listen in. And you might appreciate some of the people in your life more today if they're listening. You might want to send this episode to someone you know. So just for today, for all my chatty Kathes, we are going to try to talk and speak as little as possible. This is gonna be hard. I'm gonna say it again. Just for today, we are going to try to talk or speak as little as possible. Possibly even only when we're spoken to. We're not going to interject. If we find ourselves at our kids' sports tonight, we're not going to talk. We're not going to speak. We are going to stay in silence as much as possible for today. Again, this exercise is. Is more for my chatty people like myself, because sometimes we're speaking so much that we're only thinking about the next thing we want to say and not really listening. Or sometimes we're chatting so much. Some of my best friends are very quiet people. And you would miss what these people have to say because the people like you and me, we're just filling empty space all day long. Give me some empty space and I'm gonna fill it with words. Give me empty space on a table and I'm going to say something. I have a funny story, an antidote. I have something. Boy, can I be an empty space filler with words. But then we miss out on those people that are waiting for us to stop talking. And then they also have something really funny to say, or a really great antidote, or a story. But they're never going to get to it if we don't stop talking. So just for today. All of my chatty Kathy's out there, we're gonna zip it. Can you guys do that with me? Just for today, we are zipping it. I'm gonna end this on a zzz zip.
