- 0:00Adam: Welcome to the Adam and Deidra show.
- 0:02Adam: We're back.
- 0:02Adam: Had another fun weekend and can't wait to share too.
- 0:06Adam: But first, we're drinking uh pulp, a hazy IPA from R A R out of Maryland.
- 0:14Adam: Can't wait.
- 0:17Dedra: Well, with that being said, cheers to another amazing episode and being able to share our adventures with you guys.
- 0:23Adam: Yep.
- 0:24Adam: Cheers, everybody.
- 0:25Adam: And we had we had fun.
- 0:26Adam: We did we didn't go to a lot of places like uh we have in I think the last few episodes.
- 0:31Adam: We went to one place, picked up some food, brought it over to a tap room, and just uh enjoyed our afternoon, sitting there eating and uh drinking some big good beer.
- 0:42Dedra: That is true.
- 0:42Dedra: However, I do want to bring attention to my flannel, of course, Dixon.
- 0:47Dedra: Um but this is their um Captain Autism flannel.
- 0:53Dedra: And I want to say this was my very first flannel that I actually got from Dixon.
- 0:59Dedra: And because I'm you know a big supporter uh for autism, and I had seen that they had a collaboration with Captain Autism, who they're also a b or portion of the proceeds were being donated to the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network.
- 1:16Dedra: So A-S-A-N.
- 1:18Dedra: So that was a big inspiration, a big reason why I purchased this flannel many years ago.
- 1:23Dedra: Um, and I know they have since done another collaboration with another uh foundation.
- 1:28Dedra: I can't recall at the top of my head, but it was just recent.
- 1:31Dedra: I want to say it was like within the past year or so, and that one I unfortunately did not get the opportunity to port to purchase.
- 1:39Adam: So Captain Autism, right?
- 1:41Dedra: Yes, he's actually a comedian.
- 1:43Dedra: But yeah, so this was one of my, I believe, one of my very first flannels, and I still got it years later.
- 1:49Dedra: Um, and it's still in great shape, and I absolutely love the colors.
- 1:53Dedra: Love, love, love the colors.
- 1:56Adam: Very nice.
- 1:57Dedra: But back to our weekend.
- 1:59Adam: Back to beer.
- 2:00Adam: I had a sip of this when we cheers, and then I had a second one while you were talking there.
- 2:05Adam: This is good.
- 2:07Adam: It's called pulp.
- 2:10Adam: Oh my gosh.
- 2:11Adam: Barberin, that is just uh holy crap.
- 2:17Adam: It has like a really deep, like orange flavor.
- 2:20Adam: Um, did you get a good taste of it?
- 2:22Dedra: I didn't get a big drink only because the lab passed a few times.
- 2:26Dedra: I've taken really big drinks.
- 2:30Adam: This isn't that bad.
- 2:31Adam: 6.2%.
- 2:32Adam: You'll be fine.
- 2:34Adam: And drink fresh.
- 2:36Adam: Come on, drink up.
- 2:38Adam: Drink up and I'll tell you.
- 2:39Adam: Uh, but we went to tap savvy this weekend, so we picked up food at Pony's Mitchis, which is a what do you call that?
- 2:51Adam: A ceviche place?
- 2:52Dedra: Seafood.
- 2:53Adam: Seafood, yes.
- 2:54Adam: Seafood they do, they specialize in uh the ceviches, the agua chillis, the uh I mean everything that has to do with like shrimp and fish, they do a great job at it too.
- 3:04Adam: I mean, they've made such an impression.
- 3:07Adam: They've started they have she opened a place downtown.
- 3:10Dedra: Yes, absolutely.
- 3:11Dedra: So congratulations to uh ponies opening up a location in downtown Phoenix.
- 3:17Dedra: Um so huge.
- 3:18Dedra: And I don't know if you guys have noticed, but and you guys are a local company, a local business, I mean, um, we always try to support local as much as we can.
- 3:27Dedra: That way we definitely get out there, get the crowd, get all the beer people out there, and just really come help come through for you guys.
- 3:34Adam: Yeah, one thing I like about that is inside like uh one of the murals on the wall has like a bunch of signs, and it's like this many miles to the beach, this many miles to Porto Pinasco, this many miles to something else.
- 3:47Adam: I don't even know the beach.
- 3:48Adam: I think I said that already.
- 3:50Adam: Yes.
- 3:51Adam: But I'm curious, and I'm I'm I'm sure that it's pretty accurate, but I wonder if that's actual distances from one place from that particular point to um the destination that it's that it's pointing to.
- 4:06Dedra: I'm sure, I'm sure.
- 4:07Dedra: Um, so ponies actually just recently received an award for their shrimp fries, and that is one thing because I fries are totally up my alley when we went over the weekend.
- 4:19Dedra: I just wasn't wanting to eat anything heavy because we still had to come home and eat dinner, anyways.
- 4:24Dedra: So I think the next time the next time we're out and about, I definitely want to check out their shrimp fries.
- 4:31Adam: Yeah, it was best of Phoenix, right?
- 4:33Dedra: Yes, absolutely.
- 4:34Dedra: So again, congratulations.
- 4:35Dedra: Yeah.
- 4:35Dedra: And we'll definitely share the link.
- 4:37Dedra: Um, I'll share the link on our Instagram page in case if anybody wants to check it out.
- 4:41Adam: I didn't get French fries per se, but I got the Cali style Baja burrito while we were there, and there was actually French fries inside of it.
- 4:51Adam: And you had the option of getting shrimp or fish, and they had like fried mahi mahi.
- 4:57Adam: And I decided to get that instead of the shrimp just to kind of change it up a little, and that was really good.
- 5:02Adam: Just the sauce, the french fries, the other stuff.
- 5:08Dedra: Everything that they put into it, and it was not.
- 5:10Dedra: I was like, it is not, it was not a small burrito by any means.
- 5:14Adam: I almost finished it all.
- 5:15Adam: You had a what, one bite?
- 5:17Adam: Of course I asked you, right, when you're taking a drink.
- 5:21Dedra: Yeah.
- 5:21Dedra: Oh my god, did you hear that?
- 5:22Dedra: I slurred.
- 5:23Dedra: Yes.
- 5:23Dedra: That was the panic setting in.
- 5:26Dedra: That was totally it.
- 5:31Adam: That was good.
- 5:32Dedra: Um I think I was good for two bites.
- 5:35Adam: Yeah.
- 5:35Adam: But they had salsa that went with it, and oh, that slow motion video of you got pouring it on there.
- 5:43Dedra: Well, okay, so I had, yeah, I did have two bites because I had the first one just straight up, and the second one was after I poured the hot sauce on there.
- 5:50Adam: Put some hot sauce on my burrito, baby.
- 5:54Dedra: And then because I was craving just something light, and I was just like, There's ceviche, just a regular toasty ceviche that was so, so refreshing and light, and it hit all the spots that I was looking for.
- 6:06Dedra: And I got the uh salsa bredi, the tostitos that come with it.
- 6:10Dedra: Because there was the other option you can get like the spicy the red one, yes, and I just felt like that was a little too much salt and a little too much flavor, and I really just wanted to taste the ceviche in it.
- 6:21Adam: Yeah, no, that was good.
- 6:22Adam: That was really good.
- 6:23Adam: Yeah, and we picked it up, and it's not like it just comes out, like they just have it prepared right there.
- 6:28Adam: It takes a minute.
- 6:28Adam: Now, I I don't know, the ceviche probably was ready because you need that to kind of marinate and all come together, but the burrito was, I think, took a little bit longer, and that's probably why we sat there for so long.
- 6:39Adam: They had to probably fry it and get all the French fries done because that came out oh so good.
- 6:44Dedra: I was saying it was worth it though, because the fish wasn't overcooked, it wasn't hard, it wasn't chewy, it wasn't rubbery.
- 6:51Dedra: The fish was actually really good in that and it was fresh.
- 6:54Dedra: Yeah, it had a really good, fresh flavor to it.
- 6:57Adam: It's not fishy at all.
- 6:58Adam: I mean, it just was perfect, exactly what the we needed it to taste.
- 7:01Adam: It was just like that.
- 7:03Adam: But we picked it up and went, what, four miles down the road over to Tap Savvy, and Tap Savvy's been there for quite a while.
- 7:11Adam: Um, we know the owners, Phil, um, great guy.
- 7:14Adam: We love running into him and haven't been there in a little bit, yes.
- 7:18Adam: And they got plenty of crack beer on tap, and they have a lot of cans that you can either drink there or take them to go, and that's one of our favorite things to do when we get there.
- 7:27Adam: It's like we went in there just for the intention to just to have a couple beers while we were there.
- 7:31Adam: Well, we had six, and we're like, well, we're not gonna get anything to go.
- 7:37Adam: We don't we have plenty of stuff inside of our fridge, we don't need anything, so we grab four.
- 7:41Adam: You see a theme here, but it was good.
- 7:47Adam: I I started with a taster.
- 7:49Adam: Actually, we started with three tasters.
- 7:51Adam: I think we were just kind of tasting each other's your main one because you started with a ceviche, it was a Mexican lager.
- 7:58Dedra: Yes, so it was a uh Mexican lager from tombstone, actually.
- 8:02Dedra: And it was uh okay, you told me how to say it.
- 8:06Adam: So I'm no, you said it with soul the last time.
- 8:09Dedra: I know.
- 8:10Dedra: I'm getting ready.
- 8:10Dedra: I'm trying to say, I'm getting ready to practice.
- 8:12Dedra: Okay.
- 8:13Dedra: Cerveza original de tombstone.
- 8:17Dedra: Yes, Mexican lager.
- 8:19Dedra: And I'm not by any means his head.
- 8:25Dedra: So all of that was that took, I think I have a little headache from that one.
- 8:31Dedra: That took a lot of concentration to say.
- 8:33Dedra: That's funny.
- 8:33Dedra: And rolling those R's, goodness gracious.
- 8:36Dedra: I don't know.
- 8:38Dedra: Like when I hear people speaking Spanish and they just had those R's like that, I'm just like, man, I'd be spitting all over the place and my tongue would get stuck, and I would just those R's would never shoot out.
- 8:51Adam: So that's a You get your Navajo tongue in there and you start doing nothing.
- 8:55Adam: Not a lot of people would get that, but it doesn't work.
- 9:03Dedra: Oh, that is true.
- 9:05Dedra: Maybe.
- 9:06Dedra: But that I think that's why it's so hard for me to roll my R's, just because linguistically, for me, it doesn't we don't do that in our culture.
- 9:16Adam: But I had ones from Tombstone also, and I don't have to worry about speaking Spanish at all because it was it was called organ lots.
- 9:23Adam: Number two.
- 9:26Adam: It couldn't get more English than that.
- 9:30Dedra: But hold on, numero dose.
- 9:32Adam: No, nope, nope.
- 9:33Adam: It was Roman numeral.
- 9:34Adam: So is it the second?
- 9:39Dedra: Yes, actually.
- 9:40Adam: Uh, but that's a double hazy IPA, and that one's good.
- 9:44Adam: I've had it before.
- 9:45Adam: Um, so nothing new, but having the fish taco with it and that particular beer was sitting at like 8.2%.
- 9:52Adam: So having the nice fish burrito with that heavy IPA actually paired amazing.
- 9:59Adam: And I was like, okay, I think I even told you, I'm like, you gotta have a bite of this and then a drink of this.
- 10:05Dedra: Yes.
- 10:05Dedra: And I did that too with my ceviche and that Mexican lager because it was nice and light.
- 10:10Dedra: It was, it wasn't even 5%, it was just under 5%.
- 10:12Dedra: And it because the ceviche was so light and flavorful that that lager paired with it so well.
- 10:18Dedra: And I was kind of discouraged.
- 10:21Dedra: And I'm like, man, I why did I get uh just a small pour?
- 10:24Dedra: I should have got a bigger pour to go with it.
- 10:26Adam: Oh, yeah, we did, but we were trying other things.
- 10:29Adam: Yes.
- 10:29Adam: We had that one.
- 10:30Adam: It is true, and then I got the stout too from the brewery called uh Curiosity, I believe it was, which is like a double pastry stout, and that one's sitting at like 10.7% or something like that.
- 10:43Adam: And I think uh it's called that because they put cinnamon milk sugar, so it's a pastry stout, so I I mean I a five-ounce pretty much all I can handle anyway.
- 10:52Adam: But uh they made it so that it was like a like a churro, so it I got my Mexican in there, so there you go.
- 11:00Adam: I had a churro beer, and then I had that that IPA, and that one, that uh stout, I mean you only can sip on that one.
- 11:07Adam: It's it was so sweet, but having the again, having that burrito to kind of offset it, and I was taking you know, switching off the the drinks that I was having, and tasted yours too, and that was actually really good.
- 11:19Dedra: It was, it was very light, refreshing, crisp.
- 11:23Adam: I think I did the same thing you did, had that chip with the ceviche, and then had a drink of that, and I'm like, oh, that's that's perfect.
- 11:28Adam: So, what is it about Mexican lagers that kind of have that almost like that agave kind of feel to it, where it almost has that flavor that goes with with the food so well.
- 11:40Dedra: I don't know what it is, but man, I'm glad we had that experience because that was top-notch.
- 11:46Dedra: That was delicious.
- 11:47Adam: Yep, that was really good.
- 11:48Adam: And then after we like had to shower after that because we were sitting there covered in ceviche juice and and burrito drippings, I think was going down my arm.
- 11:59Dedra: Hot sauce?
- 12:00Adam: Yeah, hot sauce.
- 12:02Dedra: When I poured that hot sauce, that one got a little messy.
- 12:05Adam: Yeah, on our blog, I'm gonna try to get that that slow motion video posted on there.
- 12:10Adam: It's not an easy thing to put that on there, but I'll figure it out.
- 12:13Adam: It's gonna be it's gonna be pretty neat.
- 12:14Dedra: Well, I'll make sure I put it on the Instagram account.
- 12:17Dedra: Oh, there you go.
- 12:18Adam: With it dumping all over my fingers and stuff.
- 12:21Adam: Hey, I I actually took part of my finger off when I was taking that bite.
- 12:25Adam: I was like, ooh, hot sauce.
- 12:26Adam: That was really good.
- 12:30Dedra: I could see that.
- 12:31Adam: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:32Adam: It was like the same color as the burrito, I think, maybe.
- 12:35Dedra: Yeah, like the french fry or a piece of fish.
- 12:37Adam: Yeah.
- 12:38Adam: I think I got like halfway through that first burrito to realize that I'm like, there's potato in here.
- 12:43Adam: No, not the hot sauce.
- 12:45Adam: The I'm like, there's potato in here.
- 12:47Adam: And I was like taking a bite, and then I looked and I'm like, it's French fries.
- 12:50Adam: It did, but yeah, I was just eating it.
- 12:56Adam: I don't know.
- 12:56Adam: I'm like, mmm, food.
- 12:58Adam: I mean, I could have inspected it a little bit better, but I was just ready to eat.
- 13:05Dedra: I I get it, I understand.
- 13:07Adam: Yeah, but we got a few more tasters after that.
- 13:10Adam: And man, and we just sat there.
- 13:13Adam: So they have a couple TVs there, um, which they play games, but they don't actually put the sound on.
- 13:19Adam: They they have music playing and just it's very cozy place because it's like a real narrow building.
- 13:24Adam: They have the bar along one side where you can fit quite a few chairs on that side, right?
- 13:29Adam: And then little four high top tables against the opposite wall, and then like a a part in the middle where you can just walk down the middle.
- 13:37Adam: I mean, that's pretty much it.
- 13:38Adam: So really a small place.
- 13:42Adam: And I I can't I don't know how many taps, but I'm gonna guess they're set up for over 30 of them, right?
- 13:49Dedra: Something like that, but I mean, small, cozy, that's like that's up our alley.
- 13:54Adam: Yes, yes.
- 13:54Adam: And that place is has always been great to us.
- 13:57Adam: We just you go there and you can find beers on tap and beers in their cooler that you can't find just anywhere.
- 14:03Adam: It's it's stuff that's special.
- 14:05Adam: I mean, for example, uh the brewery.
- 14:07Adam: I mean, how many t places in Phoenix can you actually get a beer from the brewery?
- 14:11Adam: True.
- 14:11Adam: That was really good.
- 14:13Adam: Um, but it wasn't my favorite stout.
- 14:15Adam: So that second tasting, yeah.
- 14:17Adam: I got one from Oso.
- 14:20Adam: And Oso's they got quite a few locations in Phoenix.
- 14:24Adam: I think their main one is it at Scottsdale where it originated.
- 14:28Dedra: I believe so, yeah.
- 14:29Adam: Yeah, I think so.
- 14:30Adam: We I think we went to that one too, a long time ago, and I had a broken foot.
- 14:34Dedra: Oh yes.
- 14:35Adam: We had to travel way the heck out there for the doctor's appointment for some reason.
- 14:39Dedra: Yeah, that was weird, but it wasn't very far from Oso.
- 14:42Dedra: No.
- 14:43Dedra: So, yes, we were there like on I don't know, it was like a Wednesday, Thursday afternoon during lunch.
- 14:49Dedra: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:50Dedra: So everybody went there on our lunch break.
- 14:52Dedra: We went there after your appointment, indulged in a couple beers.
- 14:55Dedra: While everybody else was at work, everybody had to go back to work.
- 14:59Adam: But it, I mean, okay, interesting story.
- 15:02Adam: I broke my heel twice.
- 15:04Adam: Once when I was 15 years old, and I was skateboarding, and I jumped off, like I think one of those mobile minis and landed too hard on my heel, broke it, and then tried to skate home, had to jump over a couple fences, and I'm like, my legs shaking.
- 15:20Adam: I'm like, why is this happening?
- 15:22Adam: Found out it was broken, and I think I went to the doctor, and they're like, Yeah, we really can't put a cast on it, and it doesn't really need it, it's cracked.
- 15:29Adam: So just wear your shoe, that's good padding.
- 15:31Adam: Oh, and then I'm like, okay, oh my god, I can't even walk.
- 15:34Adam: And they're like, Well, you can get crutches, you can rent them from Walgreens, actually.
- 15:38Adam: And I'm thinking, I went into that doctor's appointment, and again, I was 15 years old, so I'm like, So we came here for nothing.
- 15:44Adam: You're telling me to wear a shoe and rent.
- 15:49Dedra: Okay, awesome.
- 15:51Dedra: Yeah.
- 15:52Adam: Second time I broke my heel, uh, we were doing Taekwondo, and it was during sparring.
- 15:57Adam: And I did think I did this quadruple backflip spin kick.
- 16:01Adam: It was so cool, and then landed my foot out the mat and broke my heel again.
- 16:06Adam: And healing when you're 35 compared to 15 took a bit longer, much more visits to the doctor.
- 16:14Adam: Couldn't walk on it for like four months.
- 16:19Adam: I mean, that sucked.
- 16:21Dedra: Yeah.
- 16:22Adam: And it was still a crack, it wasn't like broken all the way.
- 16:25Adam: That sucked, but it afforded us an opportunity to go to Oso in the middle of the day while everybody was working.
- 16:32Dedra: That is true, very true.
- 16:33Adam: So success.
- 16:34Adam: I'm gonna call it that.
- 16:37Dedra: I am not complaining, I'm not gonna correct you.
- 16:40Dedra: You're not wrong.
- 16:42Adam: But the beer uh was called the quiero.
- 16:44Adam: So I see, I do have to say that.
- 16:47Adam: And that means literally, it means uh I want you, but really it means like you have affection for somebody.
- 16:54Adam: So you say that like I love you when you're talking to like one of your friends.
- 16:58Adam: But this was a stout, barrel-aged stout that was on point.
- 17:04Adam: 14.2%.
- 17:06Adam: Wow.
- 17:07Adam: I just, oh my God, I it was so good.
- 17:10Adam: That was out of all the beers that we had there that night, that one I could have just sipped on.
- 17:14Adam: I only had a five-ounce pour because 14.2%, I think if obviously you can't get it in a pint, but just sipping on that, that's all I needed.
- 17:22Adam: And I just little tiny sips and I just sat there and enjoyed it.
- 17:26Adam: I probably drank that one for like an hour.
- 17:29Dedra: And I was gonna say, and they're also going to want to go home and close.
- 17:33Adam: Yeah, probably, but hey, we were having a good time.
- 17:37Dedra: We were, they didn't kick us out.
- 17:40Adam: Yeah, but it was crazy because we're not in that area much.
- 17:43Adam: It's in Lichfield Park, which we used to spend a lot of time in, actually.
- 17:46Adam: I'm wearing TCBC was in Litchfield Park, so I'm representing that that area right there.
- 17:51Adam: Um what was it?
- 17:53Adam: Like uh half the people that were inside of Tap Savvy, we knew.
- 17:58Adam: Right.
- 17:58Adam: I was like, hey, I haven't seen you in a while.
- 18:00Adam: Hey, haven't seen you in a while.
- 18:02Adam: And it was like two tables of people that we just like ran into.
- 18:05Adam: And it's like that was that was really fun too.
- 18:07Dedra: It was, it was nice getting to kind of see and catch up with some people that we just really haven't seen in a while.
- 18:13Adam: Yeah.
- 18:13Adam: But um, I got another, I think, IPA also.
- 18:18Adam: Um, it was out of uh it was from Lake Pleasant, and I got their triple IPA called Bitter's End.
- 18:25Adam: So that 14 for 2% one was pretty heavy, but I also had that 11% triple IPA.
- 18:31Adam: True Adam Fashion.
- 18:33Adam: Yes, but they were again five-ounce pours, so just sipping on it.
- 18:37Adam: And that one, I think it was after we finished all of our food.
- 18:40Adam: So that one I didn't need to spend a lot of time working on.
- 18:42Adam: It was just taking little sips.
- 18:44Dedra: So that my second pour that I got was just another taster, and it was actually a local brewery, uh Goldwater, which is located out in Scottsdale.
- 18:52Dedra: Um, and that one was the birthday suit.
- 18:54Dedra: Um, it was an American IPA and it came in at seven and a half percent.
- 18:58Dedra: Yeah.
- 18:59Dedra: And for me, that was more than enough.
- 19:02Dedra: Um, I was already starting to kind of feel pretty full from the ceviche.
- 19:05Dedra: And if one ceviche, it happens, it can happen, believe me.
- 19:11Dedra: If you've if you eat almost the whole thing, plus you're slamming it with some beer, okay, a taster of beer.
- 19:17Dedra: And the chips, you'll get full.
- 19:19Dedra: You eat enough of ceviche, you will get full.
- 19:22Adam: Very true, very true.
- 19:23Adam: I stand corrected.
- 19:25Dedra: And then I had two bites of your burrito.
- 19:30Dedra: That was overboard.
- 19:31Adam: I I opened that container up when I first got that thing, and I looked at the size of the halves, and I'm like, oh God, I think I made a mistake.
- 19:38Adam: Ceviche, even better, like the next day, having it with just like the regular uh tortilla chips or corn chips.
- 19:48Dedra: Tortilla chips.
- 19:49Dedra: Tortilla chips, yeah.
- 19:50Adam: Just having it like that with uh without like the chili birdie chips, just having it with the plain ones, I feel like you got even more of that flavor.
- 19:57Adam: That was good.
- 19:59Dedra: And I think that was just, and I've never um have used the scoops.
- 20:03Dedra: I'm not a big fan of the tocito scoops because I feel like it always tears up the roof of my mouth.
- 20:08Dedra: So I always try to stay away from those, but we had them um in our pantry from a party, and I was like, you know what?
- 20:14Dedra: The scoops with the ceviche is gonna be perfect.
- 20:18Dedra: Optimal scoops of ceviche in every single bite.
- 20:23Dedra: Plus, it holds the juice too.
- 20:25Dedra: So you're getting everything in a little mini bowl over and over.
- 20:30Adam: Yeah, okay.
- 20:31Adam: Hold the liquid and and the ceviche all in one bite, so you got this like burst of everything.
- 20:37Dedra: Yes.
- 20:37Dedra: And then ceviche, I feel like it's always better the next day because it's taken extra time to marinate and just sit and rest.
- 20:43Dedra: That was so good.
- 20:46Adam: Do you want to eat that again?
- 20:48Dedra: All the time.
- 20:49Dedra: So I just feel like whenever I don't have the chance to, you know, make ceviche, if we're out and about and I'm just craving it, I'm definitely always gonna go to ponies.
- 20:57Dedra: Yeah.
- 20:57Dedra: Always gonna go to ponies.
- 20:59Adam: You know, there's something I think I could have done and I didn't because I I was in public.
- 21:06Adam: Okay.
- 21:07Adam: I could have taken that burrito and probably dipped it in the ceviche and just had another experience with both of those together.
- 21:14Dedra: Yes, but the only thing with that is I feel like parts of your burrito would have fallen out.
- 21:20Adam: Then you just have more fun with the next bite trying to scoop it back out.
- 21:24Adam: Getting that juice in there because it's kind of acidic too inside that uh in in that burrito.
- 21:35Dedra: Well, I guess we're just gonna have to go back to ponies and give it a shot.
- 21:39Dedra: Well, I gotta go back there anyways to get those shrimp fries.
- 21:41Dedra: I wanna see those shrimp fries and what those are about.
- 21:43Dedra: So I definitely wanna go to their downtown Phoenix location and check that one out too, because they actually um it looks huge.
- 21:51Dedra: It looks like a really big place.
- 21:53Dedra: And I know they also serve alcohol there as well.
- 21:56Dedra: So you can get their amazing ceviche and they serve.
- 21:59Dedra: Serving beer and alcohol.
- 22:01Adam: Where is that one at?
- 22:02Adam: Is it like Roosevelt?
- 22:03Adam: Like on Central?
- 22:04Dedra: Like Yes.
- 22:05Dedra: From what I recall, it's Central, just north of Roosevelt.
- 22:10Dedra: And if you guys are familiar with that downtown area, it looks like it's actually right by um Rough Rider.
- 22:16Adam: We've had a couple episodes highlighting Roosevelt, Roosevelt Row, but uh having been to Ponies, uh just it's a little bit further down from the areas that we've stopped at.
- 22:24Adam: So we just got to keep going down a little bit further and we'll hit it.
- 22:28Dedra: I'm looking forward to it, actually.
- 22:30Adam: Yeah.
- 22:30Adam: But Tap Savvy is is a great, great location for a tap room.
- 22:36Adam: I mean, we went to the Theodore, we've been to quite a few others.
- 22:38Adam: We're gonna be going to the Sleepy Well here uh next week, which uh you you know you guys will be able to see that also.
- 22:44Adam: All about it.
- 22:46Adam: Yep, and quite a few others, but um tap savvy is kind of one of the classic ones that we've gone to for uh probably for the longest.
- 22:54Dedra: A few years, quite a few years.
- 22:55Adam: Cactus Tap Room was another one.
- 22:58Dedra: But tap two.
- 22:59Adam: Yep, they do have a second location, um, not even that far.
- 23:02Adam: What is it, like down the road, like six miles or something?
- 23:05Adam: Right.
- 23:06Adam: It's like right off of Avondale Boulevard and just south of the I 10.
- 23:09Adam: And that one is a it's a little bit different.
- 23:12Adam: So that one um they have they still have the craft beer, but it's uh toned down a bit just because of the demographics around there.
- 23:18Adam: One of the beers that they had, they had um Anchorage.
- 23:23Adam: And I just talked about this from the Theodore last week.
- 23:27Adam: I was able to find that that one Anchorage triple hazy IPA that I had uh while I was there.
- 23:35Adam: They had three.
- 23:37Adam: And I I just said how I've never really seen their IPAs anywhere.
- 23:41Adam: Tap savvy had three different ones in cans to go, or you can drink while you're there.
- 23:46Dedra: And I thought that was amazing.
- 23:48Dedra: Which I don't know how we didn't just crack a can while we were there.
- 23:52Adam: I I don't know.
- 23:52Adam: I mean, all three of them, I would have had, you know, just gone down the list.
- 23:56Dedra: Right, right.
- 23:58Adam: They had Drecker there, it was the the mango swirly.
- 24:01Adam: I think we ended up taking one of those to go.
- 24:03Dedra: Of course, yeah, telling me got this one right here, R A R.
- 24:07Adam: I mean, that was that this is a great PS.
- 24:09Dedra: We have such a great, great selection over there and their cooler fork hands to go.
- 24:14Adam: Mm-hmm.
- 24:14Adam: They had the uh the bistro, the energy city bistro, which is a like a smoothie sour that of course is right up your alley.
- 24:23Adam: And uh, I think we were just going down that list, oh, we could take, oh, this one.
- 24:28Adam: It's like I think when we started a leave, we're like, okay, let's just get one each.
- 24:33Adam: We each picked one.
- 24:34Adam: And I think you saw another one, you're like, Oh, how about that one though?
- 24:37Adam: And you're like, I'm like, okay, and then I put it inside the little can holder.
- 24:41Adam: And I'm like, well, that's just weird.
- 24:43Adam: You can't just take three, you gotta have four.
- 24:45Dedra: Right.
- 24:46Dedra: That was my thoughts exactly.
- 24:47Dedra: I was looking at our selection and I was just like, you can't just buy three.
- 24:52Dedra: Like, don't be a weirdo.
- 24:53Dedra: Go get four, make it, go get another one.
- 24:58Adam: We could have just done that over and over, which I think we have.
- 25:02Dedra: Who buys four?
- 25:02Dedra: You should get eight.
- 25:05Adam: If they had those like six-pack holders instead of the four, we would have been like, Oh, we need two more.
- 25:11Adam: There you go.
- 25:12Dedra: Don't be a weirdo, don't be one of those people that only gets four.
- 25:15Dedra: Get the whole six pack.
- 25:16Adam: Yeah, otherwise you just you're carrying it, just doesn't feel right.
- 25:19Dedra: It's off balance, and then it's just wasted space.
- 25:22Dedra: Don't don't be don't waste.
- 25:23Dedra: Don't be a waster.
- 25:24Adam: I think I used to do that at uh Total Wine.
- 25:27Adam: You know how they had the build your own six packs and you'd go in there and you didn't just you had to fill it up.
- 25:34Adam: It was stupid if you grab three or four or whatever.
- 25:37Adam: That just doesn't make sense.
- 25:38Dedra: Like who would go in and get five?
- 25:40Adam: Yeah.
- 25:41Adam: Five is only when you make it to wherever you're going and one's missing because you drink it.
- 25:48Dedra: I was thinking if you got a holder for six and you only have five, yeah.
- 25:53Dedra: You either messed up, you dropped one, you drank one, or you're just a weirdo.
- 26:00Adam: If you don't know what to get, just get two of something that you think you like the best.
- 26:04Dedra: True.
- 26:05Adam: There's we we know the fixes.
- 26:07Adam: The pro we know how to fix all problems.
- 26:09Dedra: Nobody likes a number five, anyways.
- 26:11Dedra: What did the hands say to the face?
- 26:14Dedra: Slap.
- 26:17Dedra: Oh man.
- 26:20Dedra: How to give you five across the eye.
- 26:24Adam: Give you five good reasons.
- 26:25Adam: One, two, three, four, five.
- 26:26Adam: Was that Charlie Brown?
- 26:28Dedra: Yeah.
- 26:29Adam: Yeah.
- 26:29Adam: Oh, okay.
- 26:32Adam: But my uh cup here is telling me we're at the end.
- 26:36Dedra: Your beerometer?
- 26:38Adam: My beerometer.
- 26:38Adam: Yeah.
- 26:39Adam: Oh man.
- 26:40Adam: I could have, I could have had this whole one myself.
- 26:42Adam: What would you have drinking if I drank the whole thing?
- 26:44Adam: Drinking.
- 26:45Adam: That's my that's my uh English.
- 26:49Dedra: We're definitely at the end of our episode.
- 26:52Dedra: Oh, I would have uh I would have gone and grabbed that smoothie sour.
- 26:57Dedra: You just picked up.
- 26:59Adam: Yep.
- 26:59Adam: But do you know what?
- 27:02Adam: We both would have suffered with not having each other's drink.
- 27:04Adam: So I'm glad we shared this.
- 27:06Adam: It was amazing.
- 27:07Adam: Pulp from R I Hazy IPA.
- 27:11Adam: I love the label, that orange slice, and and it is just dripping with orange flavor.
- 27:17Adam: Oh, that's good.
- 27:20Dedra: Oh, and talk about your shirt.
- 27:22Dedra: This is actually a little bit of a shortcut.
- 27:23Dedra: This is really cool.
- 27:25Adam: It's a uh state of Arizona, but it's uh a beer with foam at the top of it.
- 27:30Adam: I like it.
- 27:31Adam: And uh the only thing that's missing is maybe like a handle on the side.
- 27:34Adam: I don't know.
- 27:35Adam: But this was from uh Grand Cran Grand Craneon?
- 27:40Dedra: We're at the end of the episode.
- 27:42Adam: This is from Grand Canyon Brewing Company out of, I think they're out of Wilcox, but uh they have a location in Flagstaff, Arizona that I was able to get this shirt on.
- 27:50Adam: You have one also.
- 27:51Adam: It's just too good of a shirt to pass up.
- 27:53Dedra: Oh, absolutely.
- 27:54Dedra: But the only so like they only had that but in men's because in women's it was probably crop top again.
- 28:02Dedra: Um, but it was only in men's and I had to get like the smallest one, which is probably a large.
- 28:08Dedra: So I was like swimming in it, so it's just really kind of become almost like a night shirt, a pajama shirt, because it's so big.
- 28:16Adam: And they didn't have any extra large either, so I had to get a 2X.
- 28:19Adam: So But you know what?
- 28:21Adam: I think I fit okay in it.
- 28:23Adam: That's kind of pissing me off.
- 28:24Adam: Oh well.
- 28:30Dedra: I was like with mine, I could almost strap a belt around the waist and turn it into a dress.
- 28:35Adam: I put that one on.
- 28:36Adam: I look like fat guy in a little coat.
- 28:39Adam: Fat guy in a little coat.
- 28:44Dedra: Then you gotta hulk out and ooh.
- 28:48Adam: Great movie.
- 28:49Adam: But cheers, everybody.
- 28:51Adam: We love spending this time with you and can't wait to the next place.
- 28:55Adam: It's gonna be good.
- 28:56Adam: We got quite a few things lined up and a trip out of the country that's coming soon, also, and we can't wait to talk about that once we get back.
- 29:04Dedra: Yep.
- 29:04Dedra: So in the meantime, drink local, go to Tab Sabby, go to ponies, go to all the local places, just deport your local brewery.
- 29:11Adam: Absolutely.
- 29:12Adam: Cheers, everybody.
- 29:13Dedra: Cheers.
- 29:18Adam: I gotta accentuate that.
