- Jessica Figueroa: Good morning, listeners. I know you're already awake. And today's just for today is going to then be for tomorrow morning because sometimes we have to do that. So in the Jewish culture, there is a prayer, as women would call it, the moda ani or men mode ani. And this prayer is something that the Jewish people will say right when they wake up, before your feet hit the ground. And the prayer means I offer thanks to you, living and eternal king, for you have mercifully Restored my soul within me, your faithfulness is great. And what I love about this prayer is that it takes about 10 to 15 seconds to say. And having the first 10 to 15 seconds of your day being a form of gratitude and prayer to the Lord is such a great way to mentally start your day. And before your feet hit the ground. So if you have to think of what to say and you have to think of what to pray, sometimes you stop doing it, which is what I like about having the same one over and over again. And you can use this one, you can say, Lord, I thank you, living and eternal king, for you have mercifully restored my soul within me. Your faithfulness is great. And this is traditionally in the Jewish culture recited immediately upon opening your eyes while still in bed. Okay. So it starts your day by saying thank you and establishing a mindset of appreciation and the gift of life. And in Jewish tradition, sleep is considered a one-sixtieth of death, meaning waking up is viewed as receiving a brand new life and a clean slate to do good. What if you greeted every single day as a clean slate to do good? So, what might one be that you could recite? What is one that you could say? Maybe yours is great is thy faithfulness. Maybe yours is a bit of a song you're into. But Have something that you can repeat before you even open your eyes as you slip into wake up mode. Start your day with gratefulness, appreciation to God for what you're given for today and the clean slate it is. So just for today, on tomorrow morning, before we open our eyes, as we slip into our consciousness, we're going to sing or say something in our head to the Lord with appreciation and gratitude for that day we've been given. What's yours? Leave it in the comments below. Share it. Other might give other people ideas. Have a great day, guys. I'll see you tomorrow.
