- Jessica Figueroa: Hello, my beautiful, beautiful, beautiful fellow friends. We are here on the Just For Today podcast. My name is Cindy Marlar. One of the people I love listening to is Eric Thomas. And if you haven't listened to him and you love to be yelled at for motivation, which I do, I suggest you tune into some of his i listen on Apple Music. But one of the things I have listened to him say over and over again is you haven't come this far, just to come this far. And it's simple, but it's so profound. Like you didn't come this far just to come this far. Think about the journey you've had on life, whether you're 23 or 37 or 44 like I am. We didn't come this far just to stop. We didn't come this far in our education and our learning and our parenting and being a spouse or being a member of a church. We didn't come this far and pay the price we've paid all this time to just stop and give up. But how many times do we do that? How many times do we stop and give up something when we haven't gone far enough? We haven't gone far enough for the reward, for the prize, for the gift. I took up golf, let's see, three years ago for the very first time in my life. I'd never swung a golf club. And I started at the driving range, got an inexpensive set of clubs, and then bam, ⁓ cancer. So I took a year off. And then I've been back at it for about six months. And I don't know if I like it yet. I go, I get lessons, I go to the range, I've played courses, like not much, but I keep going out and I get dressed and I bring my clubs, but I know it's too soon to tell. It's too soon to tell if I like golf or not, because it's not fun until you get good at something and know what you're doing. So how many times have we come so far and then stopped? So just for today, I want you to think you didn't come this far just to come this far. You came this far to keep going. So keep going. What is the thing you need to keep going? I'm here to tell you you can keep going, especially when you do it just one day at a time. All right, guys, I'm with you. I will keep going with golf to see if I like it. You keep going with your thing, and I'll see you tomorrow.
