Transcript
- 0:24Welcome to the spin. Two weeks I will be in in
- 0:29Knoxville, TN ready for some syndicate crown.
- 0:35I'm pumped. Me too.
- 0:40ME3 that's right, and Hobart I'm sure is extremely.
- 0:44Him for. Oh, Mr. Pepper, I'm deep into my
- 0:49bike, boys. Give me something good tonight.
- 0:51Well, we do have the one and only Jr.
- 0:54Howell will be joining. Yeah, exactly.
- 0:58All four of us. Yeah, why not?
- 1:00A super mega. Big.
- 1:01Yeah. Well, let me, I'll bring Pedro
- 1:04no Jr. how will be here joining us in 15 minutes if we can get
- 1:08through some viewer comments. John the Frenchman has made his
- 1:13predictions for the French Throwdown.
- 1:15We. Exactly.
- 1:17We brought back some blind rankings for this week.
- 1:20I got some news about other things we're cooking up, and
- 1:23then we'll talk about no drugs and tests and whatever else we
- 1:28can think of to wrap up the show.
- 1:32But first, it's always time for some good viewer comments.
- 1:36All right, first up, there we go at Tevs 26 didn't cover the Far
- 1:44East. Most dominant performance was by
- 1:46Syria. Maha John switched to talking
- 1:49about Hopper at French sounds. That doesn't sound like John.
- 1:54I feel like he would stay on topic.
- 1:58We didn't talk about Far East. It's a fair.
- 2:01Comment You can't, you can't dominate if there isn't anybody
- 2:05there that's relevant. Like if I go, if I go play
- 2:08basketball against a bunch of 6th graders and I tell you guys,
- 2:11y'all, I played pick up the other day and I was dominating
- 2:14them and just didn't say who I was dominating.
- 2:17Like there's nothing. There's nothing there.
- 2:20What do you think about Syria, Miss Maya?
- 2:27Hey, Mike. Hey John, check your mic.
- 2:28I think you're on your laptop. Says I'm on road.
- 2:36That echo is just built in. I was I was excited for her and
- 2:41then she was kind of let me down at A at the games.
- 2:46So I, I, I right now I'm just like, she's just there low,
- 2:52lower mid tier. I don't I I don't think I do
- 2:55think she's one of the fittest women in the world.
- 2:57I think she's, but she's not. She's like a semi young Troy.
- 3:04Like she'll be, yeah, she'll be like 18th to 23rd.
- 3:07Yeah, she'll do fine, but I don't think.
- 3:10There's not going to be events where she like does really well
- 3:13at like she just, she's not going to like specialize in a
- 3:15certain event and like beat somebody relevant.
- 3:19She's just going to be there. Not that she's not deserving.
- 3:23I would rather her that. Yeah, sure.
- 3:25Yeah. You know there's a place for
- 3:27her. I don't know, I feel like, but
- 3:30this is me making up stories again, but I feel like she's has
- 3:34the potential to be very, very good, like someone who's going
- 3:37to be top five in three years. But that's me hoping.
- 3:40I don't know. Also, Kenneth, I know I I need I
- 3:45can't. We were at the 24 games.
- 3:51It was me, Pedro and Jr. in a car and we were going to get C
- 3:56fours and coffees. This is like 7 in the morning
- 4:00and Pedro just like it's dead quiet and Pedro goes, Tyler are
- 4:04you OK? It's like what's wrong?
- 4:06He gets why are you breathing so hard?
- 4:08I was like, I just breathe this way dude.
- 4:11I can't freaking help it. You're like a bulldog.
- 4:13I always hear hear the Bulldogs stop breathing.
- 4:17I saw something up here. Tyler, you're a bulldog if you
- 4:24were a dog. That's rough.
- 4:26I don't think that's true, Did. Did you get it?
- 4:34Wow, wake apnea. That was pretty good, wasn't it?
- 4:42Yeah, something like that. I don't know if down, down.
- 4:47Probably quit by now. All right, Next up at Booty Cat
- 4:5237. Booty Cat.
- 4:55Yeah, booty cat new game. Tyler will beat John at show
- 4:59Athletes butts and see who can name it first.
- 5:03I you can't, you could not beat me at this game.
- 5:06I don't care to beat you at that game.
- 5:09Male, female judge, C-Suite exec.
- 5:15I would kill it. That's what you spend your time
- 5:18on. It's not predictions or
- 5:20research. It's.
- 5:23Let's not get carried. Let's not get carried away now.
- 5:25Yeah, get out of here. Sorry.
- 5:29My volume was jacked up because of last week when I was trying
- 5:33to overcompensate for having a bad thing.
- 5:35I just, I hopefully just fixed it, yeah.
- 5:38Well, maybe not. Yeah, maybe we'll we'll throw
- 5:41some some booty shots in there and see if Tyler can can win.
- 5:45Maybe next week. Next up at Cody Gifford is Cor
- 5:51Corinne Pepper Streaming. This is reference to Syndicate
- 5:54asking for a friend. There is potential for a grace
- 5:58and Cam. No, we, we will, we will
- 6:01prosecute to the fullest extent if you do that.
- 6:03We cannot allow any pirate streams.
- 6:06I welcome it, but I will come ask you to come up to the booth
- 6:10and film. You could do that.
- 6:12I can make you a cameraman in a heartbeat.
- 6:15We could always use some help, you know?
- 6:16We need, we need camera people. That's right.
- 6:18That's right. I actually think that's why
- 6:21Jason went to French throw down because he's going to be one of
- 6:24the cameramen for Syndicate. He's going to qualify and then
- 6:28we'll just. Do you think we can get him do?
- 6:30You think there's no way he'd be good at it?
- 6:32There's no way to be good at it. Yeah, but just I would trust
- 6:35Graceann over Hopper to be holding the camera.
- 6:37Now, picture of Hopper holding a camera and trying to be a
- 6:40cameraman. Can we get him to be a cameraman
- 6:42for one? One event, I think.
- 6:44One event. Yeah, just one event.
- 6:46Be the hop. We can throw him on the tripod.
- 6:47All right, back to the Hopper Cam and then him just fumbling
- 6:51around trying to get a good shot of something, dude, I think.
- 6:54He's too big. He's too big to be holding the.
- 6:57Camera. We'll throw him on a tripod.
- 6:58We. Could have no two cameras.
- 7:00Tripod, yeah. Tripod.
- 7:02You're on the tripod. I think it would be great, just
- 7:05one event, we'll call it the hopper Cam, and then you know,
- 7:08and we'll just see if it works well just for the bottom heats.
- 7:12I'd want 1 camera on him though. And I'll.
- 7:15Only, say, cameras. I'll only say names and he won't
- 7:18know who the names. Are first teat of teams.
- 7:20Yeah, yeah, is where we'll put them.
- 7:21Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be like,
- 7:24like a hopper, go to Kevin's to win events.
- 7:29And then he'll be like, who's that?
- 7:31And I'm like, just figure it out, man.
- 7:33And just he wants to see who he puts it on.
- 7:35It's like Shane Gillis's joke with Matt, Matt Mccusker's wife
- 7:40as the the WNBA star, but she wasn't a WNBA star at all.
- 7:44And you're just shouting out names and they're not there.
- 7:47Or like like like training think tank and then it's like somebody
- 7:52who used to be on training think tank but they're not there
- 7:54anymore. Like we'll do something like
- 7:56that. Just bait him.
- 7:57Yeah. Yeah, we step on Legos Heat 1
- 8:00and he'd be like, what? We step on LEGO's Hopper, come
- 8:03on. And then, and then, dude, I
- 8:05think it would be amazing. Do you think he'd be down for
- 8:07it? What else is he doing?
- 8:10For the community. Talking.
- 8:13Dude, is it? Well, I guess we'll get to it
- 8:15later. Go ahead.
- 8:16Next, next thing. Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:18I see Vicky the Hopper Cam would be awesome.
- 8:23Let him do athlete interviews. I think no bad.
- 8:27At athlete interviews, I don't think you would be good at
- 8:29athlete interviews at all. Be like, hey man, how has that
- 8:35event? That's why he's better.
- 8:38Than some speaking about what we were talking about before.
- 8:41The show, you did great. You did great.
- 8:43Yeah. Oh, that would be good one.
- 8:44I don't know if he's going. To be real enough.
- 8:46Yeah, I don't know what his plan is.
- 8:47I don't know when he'll be in Knoxville, but we might try to
- 8:52use him. Next up, add James in the gym.
- 8:58James, get back in the gym. It's just Americans, if anyone
- 9:02else went this is at Copacur it would have been grand.
- 9:07Americans going to Brazil to liberate game spots is very US
- 9:11of them liberation. I like that.
- 9:18I mean, we weren't upset that Lucy and and Victor came into
- 9:21mayhem and grabbed some spots. It's a little different.
- 9:25They got invited but. It it is wild because it's like
- 9:30it's just ignoring the fact that they aren't good enough.
- 9:34The men are the men are both men from South America qualified.
- 9:39Oh, that's true. Jorge couldn't get it through,
- 9:41but Jorge's been not. Really.
- 9:46This. He has been to the games.
- 9:48I'm sorry. Speaking of Forehead, he's going
- 9:51to be out at Norcal. I saw him on the roster.
- 9:53Listen, we're we're going to, we can go and take your dictator
- 9:56anytime we want. We'll go and take our game spots
- 9:58too, OK? Does Brazil have a dictator?
- 10:01I don't know. It's not about Brazil's
- 10:02government, but I'm just saying that if we can go and just take
- 10:06anybody out at anytime we want to, including CrossFit game
- 10:10spots, if you have a problem with it, then take it to us.
- 10:15I don't care. Are you a little surprised that
- 10:17there isn't somebody in South America that's good enough?
- 10:20At 3811 Cherry St. Lane, Fulshear, Texas 76344.
- 10:26Why would you dox yourself? Come to.
- 10:28My doorstep. Any Brazilian?
- 10:30Come to my doorstep and we'll have a chat, OK?
- 10:38I told you the actual question why?
- 10:44Why don't you think anybody, like the South Americans are
- 10:46good enough to qualify? Like they couldn't beat Miley,
- 10:52who granted, she's turning out to be good, but she's never been
- 10:56in a game. Girl goes and smacks you all
- 10:59around. I could, I could crush her skull
- 11:04with my hand, that's how small she is and she's just whipping
- 11:07y'all up a. Show she ain't coming to
- 11:09syndicate Crown to visit now is she?
- 11:11No Miley's great, I'm just saying she's a little bitty
- 11:13thing and just ruins y'all. Yeah, Matt, I, I want you to
- 11:17know and make some crazy edits that never see the light of day.
- 11:20They they get vetoed. We might bring that back.
- 11:25There's there's a reason why I might bring it back now, but I
- 11:30mean, Brazil is like a growing like huge growing CrossFit area.
- 11:38And for them like to not be able to be like again, no, running
- 11:42definitely helped. Annika no doubt have like a lot
- 11:46of the heavy stuff Miley showed that she could lift with them.
- 11:49But you would think that like one of them would have been like
- 11:55in contention, like Annika's missed year after year after
- 11:59year. She may have gotten over that
- 12:00hurdle. You have a rookie who's 18 or 19
- 12:03years old and there's nobody from South America that could
- 12:08even be like that close. Entre Informa, Yeah, y'all know
- 12:18what I said? Entre Informa Brazil.
- 12:22Entre entre intere M forma. Wait, what was it?
- 12:32I can't speak. It.
- 12:34Listen, Ortega, it's close enough and she trains out of
- 12:37Miami. She is now American, just like
- 12:40New Zealanders. Just like New Zealanders are
- 12:42from Australia, Canadians are from the US.
- 12:46Getting India CrossFit question a little bit more, why do you
- 12:51think that is? It's like the European women's,
- 12:55well, the European women really took off, but it seems like
- 12:59athletic culture for the women's a little bit better.
- 13:02I think the athletic in general is better.
- 13:05I don't know when I think of Brazil or South America at all.
- 13:08I think a very, very, very athletic, but they're also.
- 13:10Soccer, though, that's it. I mean, that's it.
- 13:15It's not like Dominican Republic, right?
- 13:16Like we're, it's like all the baseball players come from
- 13:19there, right? It's, it's in Cuba, you know,
- 13:23and all around the place, right. But like, I'm thinking the
- 13:25Brazil, how many Brazilian baseball players do you know?
- 13:28It's just soccer. Well, they don't.
- 13:30Or Argentinian. They play baseball.
- 13:33Well, that's what I'm saying. Like you say, I think athletic,
- 13:36it's one thing. I don't know of any other thing.
- 13:39There's some decent lifters from Brazil, but they're they're not
- 13:42like the best. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:48I don't know, I I mean, maybe it's just because they've not
- 13:51had enough time to. I know, I know why.
- 13:57Oh, OK. I know why.
- 13:59It's because they can't get over themselves.
- 14:02They live in a bubble and they think that the best people that
- 14:07are in their little bubble are the best in the world.
- 14:10Anytime any Brazilian does anything, the comments are
- 14:14flooded of support and it's awesome.
- 14:17Their community unto themselves. Listen, if I was Brazilian, I
- 14:21would love being from Brazil. They really do like back each
- 14:24other, but it's to a false narrative.
- 14:28Like it's it's it's like I thought.
- 14:31We found one. OK, I'm trying to think of where
- 14:37like a a good analogy right now. It's it's I don't, I don't have
- 14:44a good analogy. But they they believe that their
- 14:48best people are like, there is nobody better.
- 14:51There is a famous it goes. It's not just sports.
- 14:55It's there was a girl that did the national anthem at the Grid
- 14:59League finals and I had never heard of her.
- 15:02And I was like, who you know, who's it?
- 15:03Like they made a, they made a big post about her, like she was
- 15:05famous and stuff. And I and I had no idea who her
- 15:07name was. And I looked her up and she's
- 15:10famous in Brazil and she's got millions and millions of
- 15:14followers. And I had never heard her name,
- 15:17just as many followers as freaking Ariana Grande.
- 15:20And I had no clue who she was. But she's around Brazil.
- 15:23They're in there. I'm saying they have their
- 15:25little bubble and it's, and there's so many people down
- 15:29there that it's it, it hurts them.
- 15:34It hurts them because they don't look at the world, they look at
- 15:37just them. Dude, this is so true.
- 15:40If you really, really look into it, I promise you.
- 15:44I think a lot of countries would say the same thing about us
- 15:46because we don't give a shit about our sports.
- 15:49OK, but we're the best at our sports.
- 15:52Yeah, but like, OK. Listen, Tyler.
- 15:54Tyler. He's talking about American
- 15:55football. It's like, OK, we're the best.
- 15:57Tyler, Tyler, Tyler. If David Beckham, he's not even
- 16:00from here. He's from England.
- 16:01All right. Landon Donovan.
- 16:02Landon Donovan. I would never, ever say Landon
- 16:06Donovan is the best soccer player in the world.
- 16:08He's the best American soccer player.
- 16:11But we suck at soccer like our best lifters.
- 16:14We suck at lifting. Olivia Reeves is sock.
- 16:17Olivia Reeves is the best in the world.
- 16:18But if like Hampton Morris, if I it's like me saying Hampton
- 16:23Morris is the best male lifter 64K class in the world, y'all
- 16:28can't touch them. It's just not true.
- 16:31There's a whole bunch of little 15 year old Chinese kids who are
- 16:34better than Hampton Morris and it's not.
- 16:37And like I'm telling you guys they had they don't believe
- 16:41that. They don't look at the world,
- 16:42they look at just themselves. What about Otani?
- 16:46What about Otani? Otani still he's.
- 16:48He's great. He's also a genetically modified
- 16:51individual. On top of that, on top of that,
- 16:55they the freaking drug culture is crazy.
- 16:59Like, I mean, we all we. All yeah, I was going to say
- 17:01like, we suck at weightlifting because we have USADA we have to
- 17:04deal with. I'm not even going to bring that
- 17:06into that. But like I'm saying, like South
- 17:08American drug culture, it's just, it's just wild and.
- 17:12Shouldn't they be better then? You guys know it?
- 17:14I don't think so. If you take shortcuts, you never
- 17:16know what real hard work is. I mean it worked for all the.
- 17:22Work starting harder. And Russians for years.
- 17:26And CrossFit. Maybe not.
- 17:29You know, and if you guys think I'm wrong, I like, then you're
- 17:33not being honest with yourself because 100% that is the truth.
- 17:37I think they hurt themselves. I need to.
- 17:42When somebody's better, it's OK to say they're better and then
- 17:46you will be better for it because you know there's better
- 17:49out there. Don't lie to yourself.
- 17:54That's that's very true. All right, Next up at Kyle
- 17:58Dotson is CrossFit is going to do a paywall.
- 18:01Then they need to just partner with Charter Spectrum and have
- 18:06their own TV channel so we can finally get some quality
- 18:09CrossFit shows. Who's charter spectrum?
- 18:16Is that just spectrum? I think it's just a cable
- 18:18provider. Yeah, but we'll give with that
- 18:21to you I. Don't know if there was like
- 18:27what it what would you, what would happen though if CrossFit
- 18:29was like, you know, like they had the NBA network, NFL
- 18:32Network, CrossFit Network and next thing you know they had
- 18:3724/7 of shows like we were syndicated on those shows.
- 18:43I mean, I talked to you and you and Hillary about doing this.
- 18:46I think this is a really good points, man.
- 18:48I'm glad you brought this up. This is what they should do is
- 18:53there's. Slow Elite.
- 18:55No, they should have the channel.
- 18:58So back in the day it was basically HQ.
- 19:02Barbell shrugged. And like, that was it.
- 19:05And now? Arm and hammer.
- 19:09Arm and hammer. Broadcast Podcast.
- 19:11But like, nobody was doing anything.
- 19:13So everybody, anything HQ put out, everybody was right there
- 19:17to watch it, right? And we don't have that anymore.
- 19:19And I think it's a huge problem for them.
- 19:21And so one of the things that I think that they should do and
- 19:24they should have already thought of this a long time ago, is
- 19:27start collaborating, coordinating with the shows that
- 19:30already exist. You see this with the boys
- 19:34interrupted, which is an easy one because they're athletes.
- 19:38But like, and I'm not trying to do like a Scott thing here.
- 19:44Where am I? I'm not trying to do it.
- 19:46Yeah, Clydesdale thing here. I'm, I'm not saying like you
- 19:49should give us more shout. I'm just saying like, no one's
- 19:51watching your channel. Like the, the numbers are
- 19:53atrocious on the HQ side. And so like to bring that back
- 19:57in, even if you're just doing it just so you can leverage the
- 20:00viewers back into your thing and then ditch everybody later.
- 20:03That's 100% what I would do. Do you think you could do like
- 20:07if there was a, a 24/7 live like CrossFit stuff like all the all
- 20:13the shows, like it may not even be live, but like they took our
- 20:16show and they put it on at 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM on Thursday
- 20:20mornings or something. Like, show's going to have to
- 20:21get pretty creative to. Do something a little bit
- 20:24different. Yeah, I mean, you'd see a lot
- 20:26more stuff like Kill Taylor or game shows different, different
- 20:29things like that. But maybe it starts if there's
- 20:32that opportunity. Yeah, all right, we need to.
- 20:35We have one more comment, but I wanted to bring on Mr. Jr.
- 20:39Howell, Crash Ice. Before you bring this comment
- 20:42up, Spin Jr. what do you think about Brazil?
- 20:45What's their problem? It's a beautiful country.
- 20:48What do you mean? Why aren't they better?
- 20:55I gave my reasoning. I don't know if you heard it or
- 20:57not, but. No, I didn't.
- 21:00It's a good it's a good listen. You should scroll back before
- 21:02we're done with this syndicate workouts.
- 21:04I don't know. I mean, I don't think it's any
- 21:07different than the United States and probably Europe and also
- 21:10Asia, but I imagine that they're not feeding their their prodigal
- 21:16youth from a like savant standpoint athletically to the
- 21:20sport of CrossFit. They're probably sending them to
- 21:23soccer and all other sports. So I don't, I don't really see
- 21:27it as being a as being a sport outside of weightlifting, like
- 21:32Olympic weightlifting. I don't know if it's government
- 21:34funded or not, but like how some of the European countries are
- 21:37government funded, like the sport of fitness, CrossFit,
- 21:40people can get paid to do it. So it makes more sense that you
- 21:42would see more strides there. I don't really, I don't know
- 21:46what other reason that they wouldn't be better at CrossFit.
- 21:50What was your reasoning? Well, I don't think we have time
- 21:54to go on. I mean, I ranted on for a
- 21:56minute, but I I can do it. But I don't think a miracle's
- 22:01any different than than Brazil in that aspect though.
- 22:05And like what you just said. Yeah, like, you mean like the
- 22:08really, really good athletes wanting to play football or
- 22:10wanting to play baseball? Absolutely, yeah.
- 22:12And I think it's more so in America that that would be the
- 22:15deal than in Brazil because you only got 1 sport essentially
- 22:18that that kind of takes over for them is what I'm saying.
- 22:23I would love for you to text me after you hear what I said
- 22:26because I think people are afraid to just say the truth.
- 22:30OK. All right, go ahead.
- 22:32Next thing. All right, last one, and this is
- 22:34just to to start off on a good fit with Jr. at Kathy Stan Jr.
- 22:40should be. Pro, I would like to not read.
- 22:42You could just take that down. OK, let's just pull.
- 22:45Up. I'll skip this one.
- 22:46Let's pull up Romans. In fact, I wish he was my GPS
- 22:49voice. How about that?
- 22:51You could be. You could be on the next Garmin.
- 22:55Say, say, recalculating real quick for me.
- 22:59Or or just just just rewind it back all.
- 23:05Right. Actually, for the real reason we
- 23:07brought Jr. The individual workouts for
- 23:11Syndicate Crown have been released and just like teams, we
- 23:14want to get some insight into why we brought why, why, why Jr.
- 23:20programmed a wheelbarrow, why he has rope climbs at 4 legless 3
- 23:27three legs or or vice versa. Is there too much running?
- 23:31Is there not enough running? We want to get into all that
- 23:33stuff. So without any further delay,
- 23:38the individual workouts are here.
- 23:43Let's just get right into it. First one ball till you fall.
- 23:49D ball squat cleans, box jump overs, rowing burpees the target
- 23:54and then back down rowing box jump overs and D ball squat
- 23:57cleans. This is the long 122 minutes.
- 24:02Not long enough. Yeah.
- 24:06I mean, depending on who you ask, for sure we, we should be
- 24:10going to the 30 plus minute time domain since at the games we
- 24:13typically see, typically see a couple that are 30 minutes plus.
- 24:18So I mean, I think an argument can be made there.
- 24:21I think if there's a, if there's a decision to be made of like,
- 24:26do we do 6 events? Do I get to maybe test something
- 24:29a little different versus do I do 5 and do I just do one that's
- 24:32over 30 minutes? I think generally the same thing
- 24:35can be accomplished in a 20 minute workout as a 30.
- 24:37And I think at this level specifically classic CrossFit
- 24:41Trump's all. I really do.
- 24:42I think that there's a there's a time and a place to test certain
- 24:46things and I think that not many people are going to slip through
- 24:49the cracks. As long as you're pretty
- 24:51strategic with what movements you put and what combinations, I
- 24:56think 6 is a good number to have.
- 24:58And I think for this workout specifically, if it was 30
- 25:02minutes, it would, it would do nothing more for the test.
- 25:05I think like for this style of mixed modal long CrossFit this
- 25:10is this is as long as it needs to be.
- 25:12The separations will be made. That I think a 22 minute workout
- 25:18is with with this type of like these type of elements is
- 25:24doesn't need to be 30 minutes, whereas like a run, if you want
- 25:26to do a long run, I think it needs to be closer to 30 minutes
- 25:29to really test that. Like I think those are
- 25:32different. And like if you just again, like
- 25:35you add 30 minutes of these movements, I don't think you get
- 25:38much more out of it. Yeah, without getting too like I
- 25:41guess crazy to the programming weeds, I know I'm already going
- 25:44to talk my head off on this. Single modality, single movement
- 25:50can be done, has to be done really, really well and it has
- 25:53been done at the semi final level.
- 25:54If you have some balance between the three modalities for sure.
- 25:58But I think single modality specifically if you have like an
- 26:01all weightlifting coupled or triplet or all gymnastics.
- 26:04I mean, my favorite year of programming at this level was
- 26:072018, which started off with a triplet, triplet triplet.
- 26:11One was mono, 1 was weightlifting, one was
- 26:14gymnastics. I think it's like crazy creative
- 26:17and it balanced each other well and everything.
- 26:20And that year they did 333, which was in that 30 plus minute
- 26:23time domain. But I think even in that
- 26:25workout, and some people would argue with me, if that workout
- 26:28would have been 2K row 21 and double one or two mile run this
- 26:31it's it's pretty close. The finishes are pretty close.
- 26:35So I don't, I think in this workout, those classic chippers
- 26:40from back in the day, like obviously there's a couple
- 26:43hundreds chippers. There's a 50s chipper, which
- 26:45this was kind of modeled after with the ring dips in the
- 26:48middle, light deadlifts, box jump overs, rowing.
- 26:52And then the two hints that were posted this week on Sunday and
- 26:55Monday, the last chance qualifier hint was the burpees
- 26:59to target because we're going to use the plexiglass from the
- 27:02handstand, push up and tape lines.
- 27:04And the athletes will work their way down the floor.
- 27:08And after the row, they'll be facing the start mat where the
- 27:11rig is and they'll do 25 burpees lateral to the plexiglass
- 27:15reaching up and touching with one hand.
- 27:17And then at 26, they'll turn around and they'll face the
- 27:20rower because they're coming back down the chipper and
- 27:23they'll use the other hand. So that, that LCQ 100 burpees
- 27:27for time was just a, a clue that we were going to use that
- 27:30movement, not necessarily 100 burpees for time.
- 27:33And then the D ball squat clean was the, the rogue thumbnail.
- 27:39We, we put Colton in there. I said I wanted to pick at least
- 27:41one of the athletes that actually did that work out.
- 27:44And I think there's five of them that are coming, Sachs and
- 27:47Colton, Danielle Haley, and then I think maybe Pat was the fifth
- 27:52one. So it was cool that some of
- 27:54those athletes who did that movement, I guess the first time
- 27:58and maybe the only time it was programmed in a big competition
- 28:01are actually going to be doing it six years later.
- 28:03I thought was pretty cool. So a little bit of an unknown
- 28:06element, a little bit of AI mean I do squat cleans all the time,
- 28:09but I never use AD ball. And if I do anything, I use a
- 28:12sandbag. So if you have one, great.
- 28:15I know a lot of athletes have already told me they messed
- 28:17around with it today. It's not really that hard to get
- 28:20to catch on to, but it is a little different, especially
- 28:23like in the trunk, a lot more midline stabilization on like
- 28:27the obliques. If you're going to alternate, I
- 28:30think that's better kind of balances everything out.
- 28:32If not that hip just kind of takes a beating on that side
- 28:35that you're going to be going to the whole time.
- 28:37And but in general here, yeah, guys, just base capacity, leg
- 28:42dominant. I mean, I think the workout is
- 28:44the 100 squat cleans for most people.
- 28:48If you're bad at burpees, you're definitely there's a hole there
- 28:51in your fitness. I don't I don't think there
- 28:53there can be too much separation there.
- 28:55But I think all the movements in here matter.
- 28:57And I know last year with the hundreds having the echo bike at
- 28:59the beginning was kind of a throwaway.
- 29:01I kind of acknowledge that after the fact.
- 29:03And so I wanted to make sure that the calories really
- 29:05counted. And I think having them
- 29:07sandwiching the burpees is like is the perfect place for them.
- 29:13Box jump overs, Is that a step down?
- 29:15Is that rebounding? It is, it is before we step
- 29:19down, it'll be the the 30 inch surface big foam plyos, so that
- 29:26kind of longer, longer jump across.
- 29:30When the the ball squat cleans are allowed to touch and go, are
- 29:33they singles? Required Singles.
- 29:35Touch and go for sure is allowed and anyone that wants to watch
- 29:39like some of the best people in the world cycle that movement.
- 29:41That year it was rowing, D ball, squat clean, D ball, step over,
- 29:47strict handstand, push ups and then back down.
- 29:49That was their workout. And I went back to watch just to
- 29:52do some research of like how long reps per second and all
- 29:56that, reps per minute, all that kind of stuff.
- 29:58And they allowed them to just leave both hands on the ball,
- 30:01which I really like. So there is no hand release.
- 30:04So you'll do the squat clean, you can receive it, stand up
- 30:07with it with both hands securing it and that's the Rep.
- 30:10So as soon as you lock out hips and knees, you're good.
- 30:14So if you wanted to go touch and go, it would be a lot easier.
- 30:17You don't have to bring that hand back to the deep ball.
- 30:19But then if you if you wanted to just drop it, that there's the
- 30:23likelihood of it slipping off and getting a no Rep is a lot
- 30:26less. Which I like 'cause I I don't.
- 30:28The ball getting sweaty is not why I want someone to get a no
- 30:31Rep. Yeah, it's gonna be gnarly if
- 30:34there are people who get off on a race.
- 30:36I actually think it favors your really good squatters maybe
- 30:42maybe more for the men's side than the women's side.
- 30:44The women's side, maybe the row might have a little more
- 30:47advantage, just depends. Like if there was a Nautica that
- 30:50was here, maybe not, but there there isn't so.
- 30:53Yeah, I think, I think you can make up a little bit of time
- 30:56everywhere. I think the box jump is where
- 30:58you make up or lose the least amount of time.
- 31:01And then I would say it probably goes to the rower and then to
- 31:05the burpee and then to the squats.
- 31:06I think the squat cleans, because it's going to be mostly
- 31:09singles for people in the back half, taking 6 seconds in
- 31:13between reps or taking 8 seconds in between reps really, really
- 31:17starts to add up over the course of fifty.
- 31:19So the burpees is interesting because typically you see a
- 31:22burpee and you automatically think smaller athlete, but
- 31:25because they have to reach up and touch, it's just a little
- 31:28bit more, it's a little bit more effort.
- 31:30It just kind of levels the playing field.
- 31:31So I was listening to the show Taylor and Savon did.
- 31:35It was a really good show. Like halfway through it, Taylor
- 31:38made a good point about when he looks at this workout, he kind
- 31:42of thinks it favors the bigger metabolic person and not
- 31:45necessarily the smaller metabolic person.
- 31:48Which was interesting 'cause I think I think the best two times
- 31:52could be someone like Colton and Austin and it could be someone
- 31:55like Jason. Like I think both both types of
- 31:57athlete profiles could could do really well in a workout like
- 32:00this. I just think that squat speed.
- 32:03For sure, yeah, I, I ultimately, I mean, this is this is
- 32:07definitely the squatting stamina test.
- 32:09Like, yeah, there it's a basic fitness, but like more targeted.
- 32:12This is like quads. This is squatting for sure.
- 32:16Yeah, this is. The For people who don't know
- 32:21how much burpees to target, like is equals the playing field, Go
- 32:28watch Chaos when they're doing the burpees to the line and
- 32:32Fikowski and Fraser are right next to each other and you see
- 32:35the two extremes of if a guy who can just reach it and a guy who
- 32:40has to jump 8 inches and they are essentially are going at the
- 32:43exact same cadence. I think Matt is still a hair
- 32:47faster. But like there was no burpees
- 32:49being made-up like across 40. Maybe one was made-up.
- 32:54It's not like every four burpees Colton will make up one on
- 32:58somebody like the burpees to target.
- 33:01It's more. Costly for somebody like Colton
- 33:05and Austin. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:06But I'm just like, go watch that chaos with Frazer and Vykowski
- 33:10right next to each other. It's a really funny video, but
- 33:14like you'll see the differences in what that means.
- 33:16Yeah. And like a lot of people ask
- 33:18about the feedback that CrossFit gave to the competition
- 33:21programmers and Boz was our resource, gave us a ton of good
- 33:25feedback. One of the things he kind of
- 33:27helped with, I, I had this a lot taller.
- 33:29I had this at like one O 2, I think for the men, maybe even
- 33:32one O 4. And he was like, Hey, pay for
- 33:36reference, the straps for chaos were whatever, 90 and 96.
- 33:42And he was like, you know, Brent didn't have to jump, but Matt
- 33:44did. So it's like maybe a little
- 33:46taller than that would make sense.
- 33:47So I mean, that was really good information cause I've watched
- 33:50that work out a ton of times, but I've never have known what
- 33:53the actual height of the red strap was.
- 33:55And the fact that they get to jump in touch with one hand is
- 33:59is good here because you can get higher with one hand.
- 34:02Most people can reaching than they can with two in which they
- 34:05had to touch with two the year, the chaos year.
- 34:08And it's 88 foot 2. It's not bad, it's not bad, it's
- 34:11just like it does help to be tall for sure, but it's not so
- 34:16high that like a really short athlete is going to struggle to
- 34:19touch it by any means. 92 inches is a standard standard pull up
- 34:23bar height. So if you guys have done a
- 34:25competition like at the regional level or even I think probably a
- 34:28lot of local competitions use that 92 inch pull up bar height.
- 34:31If you can jump and touch that, you'd be able to touch the
- 34:33target. What was your outside rig?
- 34:36What was? What were those set to?
- 34:37Do you know? Those are a little heavy, right
- 34:4094? Buddy, I don't know if I'm
- 34:43touching it. You're touching it with one hand
- 34:47now. Not after doing, Not after doing
- 34:49squat cleans the box jump overs. Of the road win play this game.
- 34:51Tyler Jr. can get picked between US 2.
- 34:54We're we're going to. Do all these JRS.
- 34:56We probably need, we probably need to move on, right?
- 34:58It, it is a it is a lot of legs. It, it should be good.
- 35:00It's day one is I guess what more people would call boring to
- 35:04watch. And that's OK.
- 35:06I think it's necessary, but everyone's going to feel this
- 35:09all weekend, which is why I like to put it first.
- 35:11Kind of like last year calling. It boring is like the hundreds
- 35:14last year and watching people just try to slog through it.
- 35:17Like yeah, it was slower, but there was some great parts to.
- 35:22That crash outs, Yeah. I feel like JRC baiting this
- 35:25question because he has a clear favorite.
- 35:27I'm a little offended already. What?
- 35:30What question? Picking me or John?
- 35:33I come on, they are. Yeah.
- 35:38My my brain work. Out.
- 35:40Come on, my brain only tries to only tries to predict what what
- 35:44the people that want to go to the games are capable.
- 35:46Of I we both want to go to the games dude.
- 35:50I think you know. I think you know the answer.
- 35:53Me. Maybe I could squat.
- 35:55Endurance, Tyler, I think it's a wrap.
- 35:57I don't go ahead. Friday afternoon.
- 36:00You'll win this one. It's one to one right now,
- 36:01Tyler. It's got GHDS in it though 3.
- 36:06Rounds 400 meters 40 GHD setup 7 rope climbs 4 legless for the
- 36:11men, three with legs, 3 legless for the women with four legs.
- 36:18Is this is this on a runner or is this going to be actually
- 36:21running? Outside, it'll be there.
- 36:23It'll be a similar course to what they did the yoke repeater
- 36:25on last year, which last year was 8 rounds of 400.
- 36:31So it was a lot more running. And I know most people are kind
- 36:36of expecting a long running workout.
- 36:39So another reason why I kind of wanted that medium time domain
- 36:43for the run because I still wanted to do some old school
- 36:47classic long CrossFit for the you would call endurance event
- 36:52because we don't get that very much very often.
- 36:55It's more so aerobic based as we think monostructural type stuff.
- 36:59So this one, there's a couple that are in that moderate time
- 37:02domain, which I think is is not hit all the time.
- 37:05This one should do that. I think it's going to be 13 to
- 37:07cap. I think the fastest people are
- 37:09going to be closer to 13, maybe sub 13 for the fastest.
- 37:13And then there's going to be a lot of people that get capped
- 37:15here and it's they're going to be capped not because of their
- 37:17running pace or even because of their GHD cadence, but it's just
- 37:21going to be because they're just not good enough pulling with
- 37:24that big a chunk. So this Rep scheme is from the
- 37:272016 four O 5 deadlift workout was the first year they used
- 37:32the, the true form and it was 440 and then seven deadlifts.
- 37:36So I, I really like that Rep scheme was a really memorable
- 37:39one for me as far as like the old school regionals.
- 37:42And I wanted to do a pull, just not a pull from the floor.
- 37:45And I think the legless into legs.
- 37:48It gives people obviously a, a, a chance to separate on the
- 37:52legless, which is this is a focused pulling test.
- 37:58And I think if you're someone that can do 2 pretty fast, but
- 38:02you can't do 3 or you're a male and you can do two or three
- 38:05pretty fast, but you can't do the 4th, then you already start
- 38:08to separate out. And then having to go from the
- 38:11legless to the legs is actually a lot more difficult than people
- 38:14will give it credit for. Those ones with legs are not are
- 38:17not as easy as you think they're going to be.
- 38:19And that's because you start failing the GHDSA little bit
- 38:21more. So first two workouts, you don't
- 38:25think about the D balls as being a whole lot of like upper body
- 38:28engagement, but most people are kind of curling that implement.
- 38:31So it is still a lot of bicep fatigue going into the rope
- 38:35climbs. There's also a lot of midline in
- 38:38that first workout that you don't really see on paper.
- 38:41So these first two days are very much like legs and legs and
- 38:46midline for sure. The run.
- 38:49Did you say where we were running?
- 38:51Yeah, it's outside. Same.
- 38:52Same course as the Yoga Peter. OK, right.
- 38:55Yeah, I I like this one from a standpoint of you actually have
- 38:58to probably if you want to be in the hunt to win it, you have to
- 39:02run the 400. It's harder than you want to.
- 39:04Yeah, that's that's a perfect analysis of the way that the
- 39:08runs matter for the best. So like the people who want to
- 39:12go to the games, they're all can do 40 GHDS unbroken, They're all
- 39:16going to be within a Rep on the rope.
- 39:19But it's like, hey, who's willing to run 6 minute miles
- 39:22the whole time and who's willing to run a little harder or who's
- 39:24not because they're just trying to let their upper body recover
- 39:27before they get back. There's the run is going to
- 39:30separate the best people, maybe even as much as as the rope
- 39:33climbs will. But on paper, this is like,
- 39:37again, aggressive time cap, 15 minutes, 12 legless for the
- 39:41guys, 9 for the females, 21 for everyone.
- 39:45And if you think of it as 92nd splits, you're kind of got the
- 39:48right idea. And when it was tested, that was
- 39:52like a very consistent split. So it was about a 6 minute mile
- 39:57run with the transition on and off, the GHD 90 seconds ish.
- 40:02And then the seven Rd. climbs 90 seconds ish.
- 40:04So if you break that down, that's 1330.
- 40:07Not a whole lot of wiggle room at the end.
- 40:09So yeah, you you're going to have to be a good puller.
- 40:15And obviously you're going to have to have a lot of fitness to
- 40:17finish under the 15. But I kind of want, I want
- 40:21people having to run the last round really hard and do the
- 40:25GHDS fast and unbroken if they know they're going to get capped
- 40:29just to get back to the rope and get as much as they can get
- 40:31done. I mean, every, every legless
- 40:33rope climb, especially on the female side, could be lots of
- 40:35spots. So.
- 40:38And the GHD sit ups, you have another tape line again like
- 40:42last year. Yep, it'll be the same as last
- 40:45year. Not not quite bisecting it, but
- 40:48a little bit, a little bit, a little bit farther back than
- 40:53halfway. OK.
- 40:55Is there a reason you went with three rounds and not 4?
- 40:58Just wanted. To keep it lower.
- 41:00It's already a lot of pulling, Tyler.
- 41:02Well, it's more it's, it's more, it's more about that volume
- 41:07would not be necessary. I think 2 rounds would have not
- 41:11been enough. And I thought that those chunks
- 41:14were plenty dense to like they didn't need to do a set of 50 or
- 41:1860 GHD sit ups. But I also knew just time domain
- 41:21wise, you add another round and it's just the same time domain
- 41:25as that first. Workout 20.
- 41:26Two, yeah. And it and it's it's a slog.
- 41:28It's not there's not a lot of intensity.
- 41:30I think for the fittest people, this Rep scheme is going to keep
- 41:34it really, really intense. Those runs do not feel good
- 41:38because you know it's a race back to the GHD like for the
- 41:42people who are really trying to trying to qualify so.
- 41:46Yeah, and I think, I think we can see a lot of another finish
- 41:48like we saw at Mayhem last year with the the rope climb with
- 41:54between Austin and Colton, right?
- 41:57Yeah, if there, if there's a few people in a race and they're
- 42:00looking at each other, who, who goes up for their 4th legless a
- 42:04little earlier than they want to and then does it just become a
- 42:07grip thing for the ones with legs?
- 42:09It's not you really, you're pulling.
- 42:11It's just like dude, my, I'm just, I can't hang onto the rope
- 42:13anymore. 14 feet was really important though for me and
- 42:17Wilson to put on there. I think for the longest time the
- 42:19regionals rig has been thought of as a 15 foot climb.
- 42:22And I think it if you're getting that regionals kit, we know it's
- 42:26a little closer to 14, which is important 'cause in testing if
- 42:29you did this with a 15 foot rope it would definitely feel a lot
- 42:32harder. So yeah.
- 42:35That's Friday onto Saturday. I've got some deadlifts, 355 LB
- 42:42deadlifts, 255 for the women and then front rack lunges 13595.
- 42:50Lots of deadlifts this year and this one is the.
- 42:52Heaviest I've seen so far, yeah, it was, you know, set a little
- 42:57bit in jest, but when the open happened and then when the when
- 43:02the quarterfinals happened. I was like, hey, they're going
- 43:10to, they're going to be, they're going to be ready for the
- 43:13deadlift workout. Maybe like there's there's a lot
- 43:16of death. So yeah, I don't know it.
- 43:21I feel like a heavy deadlift in a workout they did at the Games
- 43:24last year with the axle bar, it's just kind of gone to the
- 43:28wayside. Like in the early, early years
- 43:31at this stage, you would see heavy deadlifts all the time and
- 43:34they just kind of went away in lieu of snatching and cleaning
- 43:37or cleaning jerk, you would just usually see Olympic lifts.
- 43:40And of course, last year everyone, a lot of people did
- 43:42the heavy Isabel. And truthfully though, this
- 43:46workout is 100% based off of the llama at Crucible because that
- 43:53ascending deadlift with the just really, really targeted Ford
- 43:57sled drag with your glutes is like, how do I get that same
- 44:01stimulus at a semi final without a turf or a sled?
- 44:05And like doing these two barbell.
- 44:08This workout was originally sandbag squat on the shoulder,
- 44:15sandbag lunge. You're just holding it for like
- 44:175 or 6 straight minutes and I can't remember why, but one day
- 44:22like me and Wilson were talking and I was like, what if you had
- 44:24like a short bar for lunges and a deadlift bar and it was just a
- 44:27double weightlifting couple? It's kind of cool.
- 44:29It's not really done very often. The front rack lunge isn't seen
- 44:32very often. Usually we see dumbbells or we
- 44:34see like an overhead lunge. So I think it's great.
- 44:38This might be my favorite workout because it's a sleeper
- 44:41for like how exciting it's going to be.
- 44:43The ascending Rep scheme really, really, really separates people.
- 44:47And I knew that with this loading, it's heavy for sure,
- 44:51but it's more about it being 45 reps and being ascending.
- 44:54If it was descending, it would be more of a OK, I have to hold
- 44:58on. But if this load, if you're that
- 45:01guy or you're that girl, you know you're going to try to hold
- 45:04on for the 12 or the 15. But most people know they are
- 45:06not that person and they're like, hey, how do I get through
- 45:10these 15 and 12 with quick brakes knowing that I still need
- 45:15to be able to lunge fast because 250 feet of lunging and it is
- 45:19going to be 50 foot shot. So it's a 60 foot grid.
- 45:22They're going to have their deadlift barbell and then
- 45:24they're going to have their front rack lunge barbell right
- 45:27in front of it. They'll be 25 foot minimums
- 45:30unbroken, but you can go 50 run back to the bar next round.
- 45:34So on the odd rounds you're lunging toward the chess piece
- 45:37finish line and on the even rounds you're lunging back to
- 45:40your deadlift bar. So I think like there's the
- 45:44lunge is also going to be an opportunity for people to step
- 45:48through and not gather, step at the top and take a breath and
- 45:52you're going to see some changes there just as much as you are on
- 45:54the deadlift. Dude, I think, I think this is
- 45:58going to be. You can't be a caricature of
- 46:01yourself. We're not going to hear from
- 46:03this guy until this event and then Patrick Velner is going to
- 46:07have like a, a nice like event to to go home on.
- 46:15I think he's going out to California, but I think Travis
- 46:17Mayer could give us that same experience.
- 46:19He's a really, really good deadlifter.
- 46:21Velner changed. He's on the list.
- 46:24Yeah, I think he's going to North Cal.
- 46:26OK, well you need to be. Taken on his list.
- 46:27That's until he saw these workouts.
- 46:29Maybe he'll change his mind. Yeah, I like this one.
- 46:34Like you said, it's going to sneak up on you, but like,
- 46:36you're going to have to do 3 full rounds before you can get
- 46:38halfway to the deadlifts. Like you, you're like, oh man, I
- 46:42got three of these things down. Wait, I'm not even halfway done.
- 46:45Dude, I think grip because the front rack lunge you're you're
- 46:50you don't think you're getting any risk.
- 46:52Tyler would. Be but.
- 46:56Yeah, the feedback from the testers was just.
- 46:59It just really hurts from the start to the finish and.
- 47:02I do think your legs would get like a llama feel.
- 47:05Yeah, this is like, we'll see it in the rest of the programming,
- 47:07but Wilson probably wants to just like, ignore all my
- 47:13messages. But when we were when I was
- 47:16still messing with them and tinkering them a little bit, I
- 47:18was just like, God, do we need a third squatting workout?
- 47:20Like, do we need more squats? Do we need more squats?
- 47:23And then finally, I was like, this workout is, you know, awful
- 47:27posterior leg workout. Like, this is just a leg
- 47:31workout. There's plenty of legs.
- 47:34And I'm glad that he kind of kept pushing back on me and be
- 47:36like, dude, with the lunges and the deadlifts.
- 47:39And we had it tested. Everyone said all day Sunday
- 47:43that's all they could talk about.
- 47:44It's just like, my butt is just so sore.
- 47:46So yeah, up to this point, I mean, it's really, really good
- 47:50from just from a programming analysis standpoint to look at
- 47:53what we've done for the first half of the competition, lots of
- 47:57squatting, lots of midline, upper body pulling and now
- 48:03posterior leg. We haven't really done any
- 48:07shoulders. We did some burpees because now
- 48:10the because because now the back half of the competition where
- 48:13this front half was more midline and leg focused.
- 48:17Now we're going to get now we're going to get the shoulders for
- 48:20like the last three. So that's that's definitely on
- 48:23purpose and that's not the way I programmed syndicate last year.
- 48:26I was kind of moving around every event.
- 48:28All right, let's hit the shoulders.
- 48:29OK, let's hit the legs. OK, let's hit the core.
- 48:31OK, let's come back and hit the shoulders again.
- 48:33This one is a little bit more redundant just as the weekend
- 48:36goes on, but. I also feel like the midline in
- 48:41the legs getting just thrashed in the first 3 is going to carry
- 48:45over to some of the events down the road too.
- 48:48Yeah, I think like this next one thing, maybe Saturday is my
- 48:51favorite day just because the tests are so incredibly
- 48:54different with like kind of where they're attacking you.
- 48:57This one is still a heavy test. And the next one, the
- 49:01weightlifting is super light for a ton of reps and it's mostly
- 49:04gymnastics, so we can get into it, but.
- 49:07Yeah, semi final date. Semifinal Nate actually said
- 49:10this on a shut up and scribble show that, you know, Peter, we
- 49:14got that content out today, which is pretty cool.
- 49:17Yeah. I mean, ever since the 4712 was
- 49:19programmed, I mean, it's such a memorable workout because of the
- 49:23strict muscle ups and very few people finished, especially on
- 49:28the female side. But I knew that if I just kept
- 49:32this Rep scheme and there's enough sevens, there's there's
- 49:35one on the second workout and then there's a 7 to finish the
- 49:38competition. I was like, we can't use 7
- 49:40again. And +44812 is just easier to
- 49:42remember. 40 muscle UPS, 80 strict hands and push ups and
- 49:46120 light overhead snatches. Like that is is very clear what
- 49:53we're testing, right? This is the pressing stamina
- 49:55test for sure. And something good to know for
- 49:58the competitors that may be listening, you can use your
- 50:01grips. You can use your grips the whole
- 50:03time. So you can use your grips on the
- 50:04light snatch as I want people that think they can go unbroken
- 50:08the whole time to go unbroken. I don't want you to not go
- 50:11unbroken because you think you're going to rip your hands.
- 50:13So that'll be in the standards. But these light snatches, if you
- 50:18add them up, they equal the same single arm snatch weight from
- 50:22regional Nate, which is cool. But yeah, I mean it, even with
- 50:27kipping, this is just going to make it more fun to watch to me,
- 50:30a lot more fun. It's going to be all right.
- 50:33I'm going to try to hold on for as long as I can.
- 50:35I'm going to run the transitions from the kettle bells back to
- 50:38the rings. Who wants to kick up onto the
- 50:40wall first? I think ultimately is going to
- 50:42be the separator for most males and females.
- 50:45It's going to be who has the best pressing stamina and who
- 50:49doesn't have to shake out a lot after the four ring muscle UPS
- 50:52every time because it is going to.
- 50:53It is going to catch up a lot in the last few rounds even for the
- 50:56best people. I think they're all going to
- 50:58burn the house down and it's going to blow up.
- 51:02It's. Going to, I think they'll, I
- 51:03think with, I think they'll, I think they'll test it a lot and
- 51:05they'll know how much harder it is.
- 51:07Yeah, I think so. I bet the men go out a lot
- 51:10harder than the women do. I agree.
- 51:12I think there's probably more levels on the female side.
- 51:15Like if I look at the field and I look for the best gymnast, I
- 51:19think comparatively the best gymnast and the worst gymnast,
- 51:21there's way more of a spread versus on the male side.
- 51:26But at the very top, I mean, those guys are like, I'm running
- 51:31to the kettle bells, I'm running back to the rings the whole
- 51:34time. I think it's going to be a lot
- 51:35more fun to watch and easier to watch than people think.
- 51:39Just with the progression of moving the kettle bells every
- 51:41time you're it's going to be clear who's in the lead.
- 51:44But the first five rounds, to John's point, everyone's going
- 51:46to think I'm in it, I'm in it, I'm in it, and then the last
- 51:48five rounds are not. Yeah, there's, there's a lot of
- 51:52rounds, a lot of transitions. I imagine the kettle bells are
- 51:56moving down the floor so those transitions will get longer when
- 51:59you want more rest. And people don't, people
- 52:02underestimate like the running involved and that like if you
- 52:05want to push the pace, it's like a 4050 foot run 10, like 10
- 52:12times over. Like that matters in times of if
- 52:15you're going to finish within seconds of people.
- 52:18And so I really, as far as workout placement goes, this one
- 52:22was really important for me to get in before they really did
- 52:27any meaningful pressing or anything overhead because I
- 52:30didn't want something on Friday or even earlier on Saturday to
- 52:35affect this because I think the intensity needs to be there.
- 52:38They don't need to be doing this on Sunday when they're just
- 52:40thrashed, you know what I mean? So you could you could argue
- 52:45that this is this is like more of a pressing strength workout
- 52:50because of the strict nature of the handstand push up, kind of
- 52:53like the deadlift is that, you know, powerlifting brute
- 52:57strength type stuff. So.
- 53:00This will be a fun one, Tyler. Yeah.
- 53:05No worries. I think it would, it'd be
- 53:11interesting to watch between you and I, there'd be some round
- 53:13where we just hard separate and, I don't know, go to.
- 53:17I think you'll come out hotter than me and then blow up and
- 53:20then I'll go back. There probably that is, I think.
- 53:23That's what will happen. I'm just going to let you go.
- 53:25I. Think also to on this workout.
- 53:30It's good to know this came from going back and just watching
- 53:36regional Nate. But back then you were allowed
- 53:38to pull the first snatch from the floor.
- 53:40You didn't have to establish the hang.
- 53:41I was like, oh, that's smart. That way you don't get any
- 53:43stupid no reps if you're racing late this year at quarter
- 53:46finals, it was awesome that on the dumbbell hang squat clean,
- 53:49they said, Yep, just pull the first one from the floor.
- 53:51I was like, oh, this is awesome. We can just continue this
- 53:53thought process. So when you get to the kettle
- 53:56bells, you can RIP that first one and then just stay at the
- 53:58hang, which I think is great because it it doesn't no one
- 54:01gets any. Oh, I forgot or well, the judge
- 54:04said I didn't open up my hips to start like they're super light.
- 54:07Just pull it from the floor and then just start cycling it so.
- 54:11I'm not sure it'll still feel super light when you're over 100
- 54:15snatches in, but. They're they're light for sure.
- 54:17I mean, it's just the. Part We'll feel numb.
- 54:20That's the part of this workout that would get me is the
- 54:23kettlebell snatches. Yeah.
- 54:25It it. It makes, well, I was going to
- 54:27say Tyler, that that's a good point.
- 54:29It, it makes what's coming after it harder every single round,
- 54:33right, 'cause you get you get a grip kind of a grip pulling
- 54:36element and then you get the press out element.
- 54:38But really, it's the one movement in the in the workout
- 54:41that gets your heart rate jacked up every single round, which is
- 54:44which is good, yeah. That's Saturday going into
- 54:49Sunday, 2 fast ones. That's where we bring in the
- 54:54wheelbarrow. A little bit of intervals there,
- 54:56100 foot handstand walk, 200 foot wheelbarrow push and pull,
- 55:01100 double unders, rest and then a different order rest and then
- 55:05you finish with the wheelbarrow double unders and then the
- 55:08handstand walk. Yeah, this name was really cool.
- 55:13I mean, a lot of people, you know, we, we trolled a little
- 55:16bit with the triple unders. Obviously there's different ways
- 55:20you can trip. You could trip on a box, you
- 55:22could trip going over a handstand obstacle, you could.
- 55:25But I think for most people, they see it and they think
- 55:27double under the workout has a lot of levels to it.
- 55:33It was the most exciting one to watch and testing by far.
- 55:37Like heart rate through the roof the whole time.
- 55:40It's super fast, you're not fatigued on the handstand walk
- 55:46until that last round, and honestly it's the people that
- 55:49can go unbroken without any trips on the double unders that
- 55:53have the best chance of getting the best times.
- 55:56The handstand walk speed will separate, but I can tell you
- 55:58that for the nail testers, one of them can run on his hands.
- 56:02One of them is not nearly as fast, but he's still very good.
- 56:06The one that didn't have any trips on the jump rope ended up
- 56:09winning by a second in the end. It was like, I don't know, six O
- 56:134 or something. They were doing like 2 minute
- 56:15rounds. They were flying and it was like
- 56:17it, it was like 6 O 4 and I don't know, six O 5, but one of
- 56:22the guys tripped in every round. He had a trip and I'm telling
- 56:26you, it's just like the anxiety level of this event is so cool
- 56:30because it's every second count style.
- 56:33So whereas normally you would start an interval on the clock
- 56:36for everybody at the same time, if John finishes his double
- 56:40unders 5 seconds before Tyler, he starts his 2nd interval 5
- 56:43seconds before Tyler. So that anxiety of I'm already
- 56:47behind, I'm already behind, I'm already behind.
- 56:49That will get the. The execution element in this
- 56:52event is really really unique because you feel how behind you
- 56:58are or how ahead you are pretty much the whole time.
- 57:02So yeah, yeah, especially that that second round with double
- 57:04unders, you just finished 100. Say you messed up once, now
- 57:07you're behind, you're rushing, and now you're like, if I could
- 57:10just go a little bit faster, maybe I can make up a few of
- 57:12those because I can't make it up anywhere.
- 57:15You have to be smart enough to know not to do that, because
- 57:18that's where you make it up. And and the wheelbarrow, the
- 57:21wheelbarrow is like that looks super beefy down there on the
- 57:24weight. But if you know anything about
- 57:27something still being in contact with the floor, you're not
- 57:29lifting it all the way off the ground, right?
- 57:30You're just lifting it up to be able to walk with it.
- 57:34This was kind of inspired just by that handstand walk farmer
- 57:36carry combo. And really that comes from like
- 57:40handstand push up. It comes from Diane, right?
- 57:42It comes from that deadlift handstand complimentary movement
- 57:45pattern. The wheelbarrow feels like a
- 57:50farmer carry when you push it, but when you turn around and
- 57:53pull it like kind of like the plow that you're at the games
- 57:56when they did the back-to-back to back and it's behind you and
- 58:00most people are going to be switching their grip and doing
- 58:03this underhand. It.
- 58:04It is just very unique with what it does to your upper back and
- 58:08what it does to your shoulders. It just doesn't feel at all like
- 58:13it felt on the way down. So they're going to go handstand
- 58:16walk 50 come back 50. They're going to go down 50 back
- 58:2050, down 50 back 50 and then jump.
- 58:23So all their stuff will kind of be down on the on the start mat
- 58:28side and I'm I'm super excited about this.
- 58:30The 11 minute cap is super generous.
- 58:34As we've seen on Friday and Saturday, the volume has been
- 58:37pretty high on several of the workouts.
- 58:40But this workout in an interval format, like I said, fast times,
- 58:45around 8 minutes, only 6 of that is work time.
- 58:48Like the volume isn't crazy here at all on anything.
- 58:52And then as we see in the finale, the volume is very low
- 58:54on the finale. So I try to be really mindful
- 58:57making the workouts hard, right, making them hard enough to
- 59:00separate people who are really kind of pretending to act the
- 59:04part of a games athlete. But then also like having it
- 59:07fast and having it more execution based on the last day
- 59:10was the move based on the 1st 4 events.
- 59:12If the first four events weren't that, I wouldn't feel, I
- 59:16wouldn't feel like I needed to make this last day a little bit
- 59:18more high stakes, high risk, high execution do.
- 59:22You think because of the unique fatigue that the wheelbarrow
- 59:25creates going pulling it that they'll go into the double
- 59:29unders of handstand walk and they'll be like wait a minute,
- 59:32like you'll have trips or resets because of that.
- 59:35Oh yeah. I mean, I, I think the
- 59:36confidence level of someone to drop the wheelbarrow and
- 59:40immediately kick up versus just take a quick shake out.
- 59:43I mean, that's the difference in, in 3 or 4 double unders
- 59:46right there. So yeah, I definitely think the
- 59:49luckily for testing the people that did it are were all so
- 59:52confident on their hands and to transition fast that it really
- 59:57gave us a good idea of like especially with the time cap, do
- 1:00:00we need to adjust it to make it? Shorter.
- 1:00:03Do we need to adjust to make it longer?
- 1:00:05Can you put Carolyn's question back up there?
- 1:00:06I think it was. It was a good question.
- 1:00:08Yeah. Will athletes be relying on the
- 1:00:09judges stopwatches for each interval?
- 1:00:11Do you think we could see any issues with that in close races?
- 1:00:14Yeah, it's a great question. I think this workout, the Boz
- 1:00:19gave a ton of feedback on as far as what our plan was with the
- 1:00:23possible scenario of people starting too early or a judge
- 1:00:27missing a time and starting late.
- 1:00:30And the judging team, the scoring team, the appeals team.
- 1:00:33I think we spent the most time on this workout internally
- 1:00:36trying to just make sure we got it right.
- 1:00:38And what we're going to do is every lane is going to have two
- 1:00:42judges. 1 judge is only responsible for counting double
- 1:00:46unders and then getting the start and stop time when they
- 1:00:49run and touch the chess piece and making sure that's accurate
- 1:00:52with the main judge who's judging everything.
- 1:00:55They're counting double unders, they're making sure the
- 1:00:57standards on the wheelbarrow are being upheld, and they're making
- 1:00:59sure the handstand wallet standards are being upheld.
- 1:01:02So we have reinforcements we have.
- 1:01:05It's a really good question 'cause I think a lot of people
- 1:01:07are like, this sounds cool, but it could be a mess if like you
- 1:01:10don't communicate well. The judging team is incredible
- 1:01:14and the communication with the athlete is going to be really
- 1:01:17good. Carolyn was at Crucible the year
- 1:01:20we did this format for the dumbbell standard, right?
- 1:01:23We did mandatory rest and 10:10 and in that same way, right,
- 1:01:28like you get done with your interval as you're walking back,
- 1:01:31your judge should be telling you, hey, you're going to go at
- 1:01:33three O 5. I'm going to tell you at 2:55.
- 1:01:37And then you get down on a knee 10 seconds and then hand goes in
- 1:01:41the air. And then we go and you have that
- 1:01:45second judge to to say, Yep, I got the double undercount.
- 1:01:48Yep, that's what time she starts.
- 1:01:50I think I'm really confident that we're going to execute this
- 1:01:52and it's going to be really fun for sure.
- 1:01:54And the athletes are going to have a chance to touch this
- 1:01:58after the athlete briefing, so don't miss the brief.
- 1:02:02Yeah, Thursday evening. And it's on Rogue's website.
- 1:02:05I mean anyone, anyone that has a dog sled 1.2 can go on and order
- 1:02:09the accessory kit and you're good to go.
- 1:02:14It would definitely be worth seeing what it feels like before
- 1:02:17that comes. How fast can Bill and Katie get
- 1:02:19it to you? Oh, I think if you ordered it
- 1:02:21like today or tomorrow, you would have it by the end of next
- 1:02:23weekend. So you'd have almost a full week
- 1:02:25with it before you had to leave. Yeah, and finally, perfect
- 1:02:31square 49 toes to bar 7 overhead squats two 55175 fast and
- 1:02:38probably will see some carnage on this one.
- 1:02:41Yeah, it's interesting. I would say short but not fast.
- 1:02:45And what I mean by that is this is not like a punch it workout.
- 1:02:50This is a short workout that is going to have a lot of
- 1:02:54separation and for the fastest people, it's going to be sub
- 1:02:56two. And I only think that because
- 1:02:59the two fastest testers were like 2:18 and 2:30 and both of
- 1:03:04them broke the toast to bar like into a few sets and they weren't
- 1:03:09super, super confident, right? Like if I see this workout and I
- 1:03:13think about Danielle Brandon, who has the best shoulder
- 1:03:15position in CrossFit and she's going to walk to the bar with
- 1:03:19pace clean and jerk grip overhead squat it maybe, maybe
- 1:03:24squat jerk the first one and just crank.
- 1:03:26Like I, I don't see any scenario where she's not under 2 minutes.
- 1:03:31Like even if she breaks up the toes to bar into three sets.
- 1:03:33I just think the level of confidence with this technical
- 1:03:37of a squat cannot be understated.
- 1:03:40It's the reason why I wanted to do this one.
- 1:03:42And then I built the deadlift around it because the deadlift
- 1:03:45to me with a barbell is like the antithesis of a heavy overhead
- 1:03:48squat. This is so technical and so
- 1:03:50positional that in a deadlift is just RIP it right and just stand
- 1:03:55off and that's all you gotta do. So thick and quick.
- 1:03:59Four thick rope climbs, 3 overhead squats AT245165.
- 1:04:04That was 12 years ago, which is crazy to think about.
- 1:04:08Last event of the CrossFit Games, No, before double graze.
- 1:04:12So last, last, last time on the floor 2016, they did a set of 10
- 1:04:19overhead squats AT225155 and then a set of five to finish
- 1:04:22that chipper. This is very appropriate.
- 1:04:26And I mean, let's talk about testing.
- 1:04:27Like I think I thought maybe I just wanted to use two 4564 and
- 1:04:32eight workout from regionals was pull ups and overhead squats at
- 1:04:352:05. And I was like maybe 2:45 is
- 1:04:38right. And I bumped it up a little bit
- 1:04:40and was just like, when we get when we get it tested, we'll
- 1:04:43know. And three of them finished under
- 1:04:454, two of them finished around 2:30 or under and then one
- 1:04:49didn't finish. So I was like, hey, this is
- 1:04:51perfect. Like I think what I said on one
- 1:04:55of the, I think what I said to Peter when he was there making
- 1:04:57content was if someone has to go unbroken to go to the CrossFit
- 1:05:02Games, I want them to be able to.
- 1:05:04And what I mean by that is if I went up in a digit and went 8
- 1:05:08and 64, no one is doing the 64 unbroken.
- 1:05:11Everyone is like, I can't even take a chance to do that.
- 1:05:14That would be stupid. But 50 or 49, there are people
- 1:05:19who are like, if I have to, I'm just going to have to try like I
- 1:05:23got to try to, I got to try to throw a haymaker.
- 1:05:25But I think the differences in like who can do 2 sets?
- 1:05:29Who can do three sets on the toaster bar?
- 1:05:32Who can get to the bar? Who has to get it to the back
- 1:05:34rack and then adjust their hands and then push jerk it and then
- 1:05:38overhead squat versus could. Does someone think they can try
- 1:05:43to snatch it? Maybe versus like I said with
- 1:05:46Danielle, who can have that narrow grip overhead squat where
- 1:05:49they can just get it locked and go like there's a lot of levels
- 1:05:52to a workout that's 2 to 4 minutes.
- 1:05:54And I think this workout for the fastest people is like a 2 is a
- 1:05:58sub two-minute test. But I think if you, if you want
- 1:06:01to go to the games, you have to finish it.
- 1:06:03I would be shocked if someone made the games that doesn't
- 1:06:05finish this workout. And for the for people, if you
- 1:06:10want to see the most efficient way, I think you watch watch
- 1:06:14Fraser in 2014 how he gets into the position for the overhead
- 1:06:18squat. I think it's the fastest with
- 1:06:20the least amount of failure efficiency wise.
- 1:06:26Rich gets there at the same speed, but freaking almost ruins
- 1:06:29the almost loses the games on it.
- 1:06:31And he said he ends up saving it.
- 1:06:32But the way Matt did it is the most efficient way.
- 1:06:36If you want to see like this is how you need to go.
- 1:06:38If you want to go the fastest to get into it, obviously a squat
- 1:06:42snatch is the fastest, but I don't think that's smart.
- 1:06:46I. Think it's a little too heavy
- 1:06:47for that. For for anybody.
- 1:06:48I don't think it's smart for anybody after 49 toast the bar.
- 1:06:51I just don't. After the whole weekend, I just
- 1:06:53don't. I don't think the shoulders are
- 1:06:54going to feel like you're confident enough to do that.
- 1:06:56So no. And like, even if you had like a
- 1:06:58340 snatch, I don't think it's smart.
- 1:07:02Were the people that tested it who were close to four or didn't
- 1:07:06finish? Was that failing or having to
- 1:07:09take extra time on the overhead squads?
- 1:07:14Yeah, just not being confident in that overhead position to
- 1:07:17where that I could get it there and keep it there for two or
- 1:07:20three, but not for seven. I, I do think the seven is a
- 1:07:23good number here too. If it was like 5, if it was 50
- 1:07:27and five. I, I think those last couple
- 1:07:30when people are starting to shake and they want to drop, but
- 1:07:33they're fighting and they're fighting and they're fighting.
- 1:07:35I think, I think 7 with this load is, is the right number,
- 1:07:39but the cap is if the cap is definitely aggressive here.
- 1:07:43And I kind of am in the camp that I, I don't really like
- 1:07:48people standing out on the floor by themselves, just failing over
- 1:07:51and over again, like on the last workout.
- 1:07:53If they just can't do the thing, if they just can't do it, I'd
- 1:07:57rather them just be like, all right, cool.
- 1:07:59Can we, can we hit this buzzer so that I can, you know?
- 1:08:02I think it's more than a generous cap for the people that
- 1:08:05can do it. Like if if you are able, you
- 1:08:09should be able to do it under the cap.
- 1:08:12What do you mean by able? Like if you can actually do 7
- 1:08:17overhead squats unbroken from the floor there is nothing and
- 1:08:21you're fit enough to make this competition, there is nothing
- 1:08:24stopping you from getting it under 4 minutes.
- 1:08:27Like like you, there shouldn't be a reason you don't get it
- 1:08:31under 4 minutes if you are physically capable of doing it.
- 1:08:35This is an interesting point. This workout is better than
- 1:08:39Gwen. Well, I want to see They want to
- 1:08:43see a similar thing though. I don't think you can say that
- 1:08:45until you see it play out and then you can make a judgment.
- 1:08:48Classic John answer. I, I just think it's interesting
- 1:08:53because you're, you're essentially, you're not
- 1:08:55mandating that they do it unbroken, but like kind of.
- 1:08:59If you want to go to the game, I don't, I don't think, I don't
- 1:09:02think anyone that fails an overhead squat.
- 1:09:06I think if you fail an overhead squat, it's going to be hard to
- 1:09:08finish period. And I think if you fail an
- 1:09:11overhead squat, you're probably not going to the Games.
- 1:09:15I and we have like a Briggs like moment where she's she she did
- 1:09:20it, she's going to go to the games and then she just can't
- 1:09:22freaking do the last, the last workout.
- 1:09:25Like then then, yeah, then it might be better than Gwen, but I
- 1:09:28I want to see that play out before I make that judgement
- 1:09:32call. Before Jr.
- 1:09:33Leaves Do you think it was a bad thing or a good thing that Sam,
- 1:09:38from a an athletic standpoint, not from a storytelling aspect,
- 1:09:42that Sam didn't make it back to the Games?
- 1:09:49He's trying to trap you Jr. and you know.
- 1:09:50It I'm not, I'm not. I know, I know what he's asking.
- 1:09:55Did the fittest make it? Yeah, that's what I'm saying is
- 1:09:58like, do I do I think she was the most one of the fittest
- 1:10:02people in the world that year? Absolutely.
- 1:10:04But the easy argument is, well, she didn't prove it.
- 1:10:07And you have to prove it just like did I do.
- 1:10:09I think Rich by all metrics was probably the fittest person in
- 1:10:13the world his first year. But because he couldn't climb a
- 1:10:16rope, he didn't end. Yeah, like, but I think like
- 1:10:20that's why you that's why you have to do the test.
- 1:10:22And I think that a situation like that handstand walk that
- 1:10:28year or like a really heavy barbell or strickering muscle
- 1:10:36UPS, I think that's like that's why you, that's why you run the
- 1:10:39test. And that's why you have to be
- 1:10:41prepared for anything, because you never know when you're going
- 1:10:44to have a hole that that gets exposed.
- 1:10:47You made a point, I can't remember what movement we were
- 1:10:51talking about, but it's like it did at that point, especially in
- 1:10:542014. Yeah, she should have been able
- 1:10:58to do the hand scene walks. What movement were we talking
- 1:11:02about that were you? Oh, it's the it's the the the
- 1:11:07handstand walk obstacle. Like you're like at this point
- 1:11:09guys, you. Have to do this?
- 1:11:11Well, it what's crazy is that that AI obstacle debuted at this
- 1:11:17stage, not at the games. It was at this stage in 2018 and
- 1:11:22they had to go 2 passes to the Pistols and then two passes back
- 1:11:26to the muscle UPS. Like like it was really, it was
- 1:11:31really hard and they did the bench press before that.
- 1:11:35So, you know, like they're not feeling great in the shoulders
- 1:11:37anyway. But it was on the day before.
- 1:11:41But that was like kind of a thing where like you just
- 1:11:43expected it at the games in like 20-19 and then you didn't expect
- 1:11:47it in 2020 because it was at the ranch and then you expected it
- 1:11:49in 21. And like every year there was
- 1:11:51just a hands they walk obstacle course, but then they just
- 1:11:55stopped programming them all together.
- 1:11:57I don't know if it was a partnership thing or whatever.
- 1:11:59And so I was like, hey, I mean, this thing's been out since
- 1:12:022018. Obviously I, I had them to use
- 1:12:05for Crucible, but I was like, I should probably just bring this
- 1:12:07back just to make sure that like people are at least still doing
- 1:12:10it. And what happened last year,
- 1:12:12like Reese and, and the Wells sisters and, and all those
- 1:12:19younger athlete and Ellie, Ellie Larson, Ellie Larson, Lydia
- 1:12:23Fish, they were race, they were making that workout an aerobic
- 1:12:26workout, which was like should have been very really, I think
- 1:12:34it speaks to that younger generation of those coaches were
- 1:12:37like, hey, they grew up on this thing always being something you
- 1:12:40just had to do. So just learn the skill and then
- 1:12:42you'll have it forever. And then I think it goes to show
- 1:12:46you most people target their training to what they think the
- 1:12:49test is going to be, not to what CrossFit preaches as far as
- 1:12:53being ready for anything, if that makes sense.
- 1:12:55Yes. Which do you think that is good
- 1:12:58or bad? I think it can be both, but I
- 1:13:02also think that the the the less good you are at the things that
- 1:13:08are most likely to show up, then the less time you should be
- 1:13:12spending on anything that's on the ends, on the ends of the
- 1:13:16spectrum. Yeah, so.
- 1:13:20You always talk about like the one workout that you that was
- 1:13:24kind of like your centerpiece and everything else was built
- 1:13:26off of it was that semi final Nate.
- 1:13:29No, the workout that I build everything off of isn't in this
- 1:13:31competition. No.
- 1:13:34So stay tuned. No, it just.
- 1:13:37Surprise. Event 7 No, it just.
- 1:13:40Trail Run makes an appearance. No, it's no, it's just the the
- 1:13:44the first workout that I had programmed after last year for
- 1:13:47this ended up just getting changed and like subbed out.
- 1:13:53So maybe one day it'll fit. But it was interesting that I
- 1:13:57knew. I really knew though, that I
- 1:13:59wanted to do the finale like that, like a 64 and eight type
- 1:14:04finale because I think really, really fast springy finales were
- 1:14:08always something we expected with all the thruster rope climb
- 1:14:11variations, with the muscle up into the clean ladder, which
- 1:14:14Taurine is doing, which is really cool on the snatch ladder
- 1:14:16this year. We just expected those, hey,
- 1:14:19stand up and it's going to be over in 2 minutes, but it's
- 1:14:22going to be so exciting. And then we went away from that
- 1:14:24to these slower burn type finales where you got to enjoy
- 1:14:28them a little bit longer. And it just like it kind of just
- 1:14:31goes with trends and Rich kind of brings back a Sprint finale,
- 1:14:34like a true Sprint finale this year, which was cool to see.
- 1:14:37And I just kind of knew that I I wanted to do something in that
- 1:14:41like 2 minutes sub two-minute range.
- 1:14:44And so that one I would say was like the most flagship and then
- 1:14:48the 50s chipper those two. So the first one and the last
- 1:14:51one and then everything else kind of got built around it.
- 1:14:54Magic City had a Sprint finale too.
- 1:14:57And what's what's funny is like, we weren't worried about it, but
- 1:15:02it's still so nerve wracking. Like if I mess up one thing and
- 1:15:07I'm blown like. Yeah, I don't think that like
- 1:15:10every, I don't think, I don't think more than a couple
- 1:15:13workouts. So 1/3 of the of the test and
- 1:15:16like a 6th event competition needs to just be, oh, this is
- 1:15:19just execution, whether it's a skill execution or whether it's
- 1:15:23just like, can I not get a no Rep and go fast execution?
- 1:15:27But I think a couple times like we need to race and then seconds
- 1:15:29need to matter. Like that needs to be part of
- 1:15:32the sport. So having a couple of those in
- 1:15:34there where like 1 little mistake can like punch your
- 1:15:39ticket or or not, I think it's good to have as long as they're
- 1:15:43just not all like that and they're not all oh, everything
- 1:15:47has so much separation because all the movements are so heavy
- 1:15:50or they're so difficult or whatever.
- 1:15:51So. To me I like that, but not when
- 1:15:54it's double unders. I hate the execution thing being
- 1:15:57double unders. So does Carolyn.
- 1:16:01No, I, I, I think it's, I think it's a reasonable.
- 1:16:04I I think it's, it's understandable to feel.
- 1:16:08Like and and tell me if she went to freaking California because I
- 1:16:14guess I don't know who's doing that now.
- 1:16:17This is going to be a Lydia Fish disappointment. 2 point O
- 1:16:22because if we remember at Crash, she was in second place or third
- 1:16:27place and then overhead squats at the very end got her.
- 1:16:31And this is all heavy overhead squats again.
- 1:16:33It's going to be sweet, sweet redemption or a Brent Fukowski
- 1:16:37like crushing defeat. I think that one, those are 18
- 1:16:44months apart. So I think that the amount of
- 1:16:47time in between to work on things which I know she has and
- 1:16:51she's obviously extremely fit right now all the competition
- 1:16:54she's done this year. I also think that that workout
- 1:16:59being legless into heavy regular overhead squat and then thick
- 1:17:03rope climb into thick bar overhead squat was a little bit
- 1:17:07more compounding than this workout.
- 1:17:09I don't know that toes to bar fatigue, Lydia's grip and she
- 1:17:14feels an overhead grip position like a rope climb.
- 1:17:17I don't know that, but I think that the the stimulus, the
- 1:17:22stimuli can be compared. I just think the length of the
- 1:17:25workout is a lot different. And I would be very surprised
- 1:17:28if, if, if that perceived weakness or or that exposed hole
- 1:17:34has not been filled, I would be really surprised.
- 1:17:36I hope, I hope, I hope so. I hope it has.
- 1:17:39That's just the first thing I thought of when I saw that
- 1:17:41workout. She doesn't, she doesn't have
- 1:17:43many of them and she's got beautiful overhead position,
- 1:17:46which is kind of which is what you need for a workout like this
- 1:17:48so that. Feels a little bit harder though
- 1:17:50than it was at Crash, whichever she was going against it, like I
- 1:17:54just it had it feels the same vibe and I know I feel like
- 1:18:00she's not she's going to be right in the thick of it of like
- 1:18:02she can go or she might not go right.
- 1:18:05It's all going to. Be I feel, I feel it was really
- 1:18:07good. Tensions are.
- 1:18:08Going to be do you know who's in that field off the top of your
- 1:18:11head? Kurt said.
- 1:18:13It was in that field, wasn't she?
- 1:18:14She was like 6th or something. Olivia Caroline Stanley B no,
- 1:18:21Reese wasn't bad, but that that that that year was loaded for
- 1:18:25the females actually was very similar to like a semi final
- 1:18:28sono feel. But yeah, that was geece.
- 1:18:30Just shows how old I'm getting. That feels like it was five
- 1:18:32years ago. Yeah.
- 1:18:35Dude but I'm just saying it would be so beautiful if ever if
- 1:18:38she punched her ticket with an event like that is all is all
- 1:18:42I'm saying. Oh, as like a as almost like a
- 1:18:45redemptive type thing. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:47Or heartbreaking. It could go one way or the
- 1:18:49other. I'm.
- 1:18:50Just tell me if I'm wrong but I feel like the the athletes
- 1:18:53looked almost slaughtered at the end of the that crash workout
- 1:18:57whereas with this one I don't think like they'll probably look
- 1:19:00fine going into the 223rd. The 175 overhead squad.
- 1:19:04Yeah, like they they do the strict handstand push ups and
- 1:19:07the kettlebell snatches, so they go load overhead.
- 1:19:10But then a lot of the overhead is gymnastics.
- 1:19:14And for someone like Lydia with that gymnastics background,
- 1:19:17someone like Danielle, someone like Alexis Raptis, like the,
- 1:19:21again, like Haley, like the ones who are better gymnasts, I think
- 1:19:28will feel a lot better when the barbell gets overhead than some
- 1:19:31of the ones that just don't have that good shoulder position and
- 1:19:35don't move more freely through the body weight movements, if
- 1:19:38that makes sense. He said double unders was the
- 1:19:41crux on that one workout and the wheelbarrow workout double the.
- 1:19:44Double, it's the most important to execute that than any of the
- 1:19:48other three versus like, oh, you got a penalty on the wheelbarrow
- 1:19:52because you didn't walk far enough and cross the line,
- 1:19:54That's a penalty. Or hey, you kicked up and your
- 1:19:56hand was on the tape line and you have to go back.
- 1:19:59Like those things will happen in this event too, but I think the
- 1:20:02double under speed. Is important, but I think more
- 1:20:06so the double under accuracy is important, the most important
- 1:20:09thing. And then at the very, very top,
- 1:20:11like, who wins the workout? It's probably going to come down
- 1:20:13to handstand walk speed, yeah. Haley might go to California.
- 1:20:20Nah, man, she's, I think she's locked into it.
- 1:20:22She actually talked to her today.
- 1:20:23She's she's one of the few people that has AD ball and she
- 1:20:26was already, she was already, you know.
- 1:20:27Does she got a jump rope? Because that's all she.
- 1:20:29Needs. I don't.
- 1:20:30She doesn't need to be ball day. I already she has a jump rope
- 1:20:32every. Freaking day for the rest of
- 1:20:34her. Life.
- 1:20:34No, she's not. I guess she's not even worried
- 1:20:36about it. She was ripped.
- 1:20:37There's no. Reason not to be good at
- 1:20:40freaking double unders by now. Gosh, it's a elementary skill.
- 1:20:46Good grief. She qualified for the Games
- 1:20:50doing 200 beaded right? Who Haley?
- 1:20:53No, Carolyn Caroline. Yeah, I know.
- 1:20:56She just, you know. Carolyn's just want to give her
- 1:20:58a hard time. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:00I mean, I don't, I don't, I don't count.
- 1:21:01I mean they get their own jump rope.
- 1:21:03It's one of the few I don't competitions anymore.
- 1:21:05Either Dallin's at the top of the mountain or I'm not giving
- 1:21:08Legends a lot of credit for testing fitness.
- 1:21:12No, I'm yeah again. I mean, it's like.
- 1:21:15No offense to. Carolyn's.
- 1:21:17Very good. She would have made it
- 1:21:18regardless, but. I'm really, I'm happy to get
- 1:21:21there, get on site, set everything up.
- 1:21:23I mean, trying to just talk into the workouts about, you know,
- 1:21:27with the internal people is, I mean, part of this whole thing
- 1:21:30is, you know, being able to do it, being so grateful to do it,
- 1:21:34but also to like, let's kind of like show and tell.
- 1:21:37That's what I tell people. It's kind of like getting to
- 1:21:39show people what you've been working on for so long and like
- 1:21:42either they like it or they don't.
- 1:21:44And that's kind of the the beauty of it being like a, an
- 1:21:47artistic expression is that some people hate it, some people will
- 1:21:49like it, some people will just say it's OK.
- 1:21:52The, the, the interesting thing about what you did is like in
- 1:21:57art, like you can just totally overdo it and you can make
- 1:21:59something that's so like you're like, oh man, everybody's going
- 1:22:02to love this, but you're, you're doing art for artists instead of
- 1:22:05art for the people who are looking at it.
- 1:22:07And so like the really like, you know, the, the key brush strokes
- 1:22:11that you put in that like kind of highlight the whole thing.
- 1:22:14They're like so nuanced and small.
- 1:22:16I just think it really is well. Then it goes to Jr. asked me
- 1:22:21like when when Sivan and Taylor were talking through what the
- 1:22:26burpee to Target was and Jr. asked me like, do you think
- 1:22:29there's many things that are you don't know based off of reading
- 1:22:34what the workouts were that were published?
- 1:22:37So I go back through it and honestly, like you would go
- 1:22:40through it and it's like, no, this is like just CrossFit.
- 1:22:43Like there aren't too many things that are like A twist to
- 1:22:46it or something that you would not expect, but just a couple
- 1:22:50things here and there and so. Like, yeah, I think that.
- 1:22:55Goes to your point, Tyler. Yeah, I mean it, it's really,
- 1:22:58people ask me about this kind of stuff all the time.
- 1:23:01Like are we going to see are we going to see the seated strict
- 1:23:05and that's going to be the Nate thing, or are we going to see
- 1:23:08like trying to introduce a new movement with new standards that
- 1:23:12people haven't performed in competition, that judges haven't
- 1:23:15judged in competitions is not something I'm interested in
- 1:23:20doing at this level. I think this is way more
- 1:23:22serious. Like I take this a lot more
- 1:23:24seriously than like to try to scratch a selfish creative itch.
- 1:23:28Like I can do that with affiliate programming.
- 1:23:30I can do that. I can do that at Crucible.
- 1:23:32I can, I can, I can like, hey, I wonder if you can do this and if
- 1:23:35it would work or if it just like if it flops, it flops.
- 1:23:39But like my judges are my members and they'll just be
- 1:23:42like, hey, I'll I'll do whatever you say.
- 1:23:44Like it's not, it's not sending people to CrossFit games.
- 1:23:48I think that's a really important distinction when it
- 1:23:50comes down to movements that you pick.
- 1:23:52Like when's the last time someone did AD ball squat clean?
- 1:23:55Like maybe never, maybe like five years ago, maybe six years
- 1:23:58ago. But it's not a crazy, it's not a
- 1:24:01crazy thing. It's just it's a ball instead of
- 1:24:04a barbell. Like it's, I think the little
- 1:24:08little insertions of maybe something with has a little bit
- 1:24:10more adaptation to it. Like the wheelbarrow is might be
- 1:24:15remembered, but it's not the star of that, it's.
- 1:24:18Not the crux. At all, it's the least important
- 1:24:21and that's kind of another reason why I wanted to use it.
- 1:24:24So I'm like, this is just something cool that people
- 1:24:27probably will never get to do in a competition of this magnitude.
- 1:24:32So, you know, luckily really likes Wilson because that's the
- 1:24:36only reason why that's the only reason why they say yes to a lot
- 1:24:39of stuff. He's, he's built a, he's built a
- 1:24:41really good relationship with them so.
- 1:24:42The wheelbarrow's a great example of that because it's
- 1:24:45like, I feel like programmers will find a thing that they're
- 1:24:48like, we have to fit this in and then they'll just brute force it
- 1:24:50in and it kind of like screws up the whole workout almost.
- 1:24:54Whereas this is just like it fits it.
- 1:24:56There's not a whole lot of ways to like you can't really mess up
- 1:24:59the the push and pull on that. And it's just like, and everyone
- 1:25:03like, there's no way I'll ever forget this workout.
- 1:25:05Ever. Well, there's a lot of things
- 1:25:07that go into it and I think when you get like me and Wilson
- 1:25:09together, it's it might just be not might.
- 1:25:12It's definitely paralysis by analysis.
- 1:25:14Brian can probably speak to that.
- 1:25:16But like each wheelbarrow is going to have 7 collars on it.
- 1:25:23It's going to have a collar on top of the plates so that if it
- 1:25:26tips over, which it's not that the plates can't fall off.
- 1:25:30It's going to have a collar on each side of the handles so that
- 1:25:34it can't be pushed in or pulled out.
- 1:25:37And then it's going to have a collar on each side of the high
- 1:25:40temp plate, which is the wheel, so that not only can it not come
- 1:25:43off somehow, but it can't move. So like we have like literally
- 1:25:48thought of the probably overkill, not probably, but we
- 1:25:52have thought of all the possible scenarios with an implement like
- 1:25:55that at speed 'cause it was used one year at Rogue, I think it
- 1:25:59was during a rock event. They just like they moved it
- 1:26:02down the field and then they left it and did like over unders
- 1:26:05and rope climbs and hill runs and they came back and dragged
- 1:26:07it back to the finish line. And it's such a cool like way
- 1:26:12that you can use that sled. Hopefully they get freaking 40
- 1:26:15people buying them bought by attachments.
- 1:26:18If I'm if I'm Ty Jenkins, I go and unclip all of Austin's
- 1:26:21collars right before the event and I just I just like clip clip
- 1:26:25clip clip 10 seconds go. That'll be my my Tyler bit is
- 1:26:31picking who who flips it on accident if you've.
- 1:26:35Seen it. It's really hard.
- 1:26:36You, you, you would, you could not, you could not flip it if
- 1:26:40you tried. It's crazy.
- 1:26:42It's like the way that it's built and the amount of weight
- 1:26:45that's going to be on it. Yeah, it doesn't come very far
- 1:26:49up. I mean, like it's like, it's not
- 1:26:51like it's this you. Know well it it comes up as tall
- 1:26:54and as long as your arms are, you know, right.
- 1:26:57Yeah. All right, Jr. appreciate it.
- 1:27:01Two weeks from now, I'll be there.
- 1:27:03I'm sure you'll be in Knoxville before that getting set up, but
- 1:27:07you'll be here sooner than later.
- 1:27:09But thanks for coming out. Thanks guys.
- 1:27:11Thanks. Thanks to thanks to Wilson
- 1:27:13especially for just giving, giving me another year to try to
- 1:27:16not mess up. That's that's great.
- 1:27:19Try to not mess up. You set the bar very high.
- 1:27:22OK. Yeah, that's enough.
- 1:27:23That's enough of that. All right.
- 1:27:24See you guys. You're the best.
- 1:27:25Great. Colton Mertens will be out at
- 1:27:42Syndicate Crown looking to get his ticket, and in the meantime,
- 1:27:47you can go to paperstcoffee.com and grab yourself some some
- 1:27:53frost. You can get all kinds of coffee.
- 1:27:55You can get Kyra's Rogue Bundle, all kinds of great coffee.
- 1:27:59Go to paperstcoffee.com. John French predictions, yes,
- 1:28:08Sir, coming in late, but they are here.
- 1:28:10Sorry. Sorry about that.
- 1:28:11Sorry. I was in traffic.
- 1:28:14Yeah, you're in traffic and French John in the house.
- 1:28:19You got to croissant and some pics.
- 1:28:25Your voice is too deep for that. You gotta go up the back.
- 1:28:30But we were talking. You do look very French in this
- 1:28:33photo. Like beyond the outfit?
- 1:28:35Like super that's. What?
- 1:28:38That's what. The French guys, that's what the
- 1:28:40French guys look like, John. You also lost 50 lbs in this
- 1:28:43picture. It's better than the clavicular
- 1:28:47picture. I hate, I hated that.
- 1:28:51I hated that. Just just wait.
- 1:28:54You'll find out what syndicate Crown has in store for you.
- 1:28:57All right, the French, they're not looking at the roster.
- 1:29:05There's some at the top, there's, there's some pretty
- 1:29:09good talent there. I think it drops off maybe a
- 1:29:12little faster than we would hope for, but.
- 1:29:16There will be names that miss out.
- 1:29:19Yeah, and and because of that, you only went to the top ten.
- 1:29:22You were like, no, we're not going 11 to 20.
- 1:29:24You're just just top ten, which is all that matters cause only
- 1:29:27three men and three women will qualify for the CrossFit Games
- 1:29:30out of the French throw down this weekend.
- 1:29:33Let's take a look. And here it is on the women's
- 1:29:37side. Amy Kringle, Mir Hum von Rohr
- 1:29:40and Lucy Mcgonigal are the three that are going to take it.
- 1:29:43According to John. Jason Hopper is going to go
- 1:29:48steal a baguette and a GameSpot. Harry Lightfoot, Moritz Mortis
- 1:29:56Feebig is in 3rd and then everybody else can try it.
- 1:30:00Mad Fitness Festival in a couple weeks from now.
- 1:30:05Amy Kringle, Best in the field by far.
- 1:30:08No, I actually think the programming stacks up really
- 1:30:12well for me or him, but it's just hard to bet against Amy
- 1:30:18when I she kind of dominated the world fittest project field.
- 1:30:22Like she I didn't like and I don't feel a ton of credence to
- 1:30:28that. But like when you beat Laura
- 1:30:30Horwath, if anything had anything like, you know, you're
- 1:30:32probably pretty serious and it's just hard for me to pick against
- 1:30:35her. She's been consistently
- 1:30:37extremely good. But the the programming does
- 1:30:42stack up really well for Mirhim and I wouldn't be surprised if
- 1:30:45she gave her a run for it. But I, I, I just couldn't put, I
- 1:30:51couldn't put her ahead of Amy. Mirhim von Rohr obviously great
- 1:30:56at the open, good online 2nd place.
- 1:31:03Is it just the this nature of the field or is there anything
- 1:31:05that is not there that you feel good that boosts her chances to
- 1:31:10actually make it to the games? Like she's too high or too low.
- 1:31:16That she would be too high in your in your predictions.
- 1:31:19I mean, Claudia Gluck's been there.
- 1:31:20Lucy Mcgonigal. I mean Miriam did great at the
- 1:31:23games, but like has she shown enough to be projected second?
- 1:31:30Yeah, I mean, I think so she if we look at, I mean, if you look
- 1:31:34at the programming, there is a a running kind of rock row thing
- 1:31:40that I think Amy Kringle will destroy everybody yet.
- 1:31:42But but Miriam was like 7th in the run row run like she's going
- 1:31:47to be fine. And this is where she'll get
- 1:31:49ahead of people like Claudia Glock and Alicia Foliano and
- 1:31:53Lucy and Anganese. And then, and then there's a six
- 1:31:56Rep Max front squat. I think she's going to win that
- 1:31:59one. I think I give her 100 points on
- 1:32:01that one. And then what else is there
- 1:32:05there? There's there, there were like 5
- 1:32:08events that I thought, oh, the thrusters in the line facing
- 1:32:11burpees. I think she has 100 points on
- 1:32:12that one. So we already got 3 events out
- 1:32:15of six events. One of the events is a handstand
- 1:32:18walk. She's not bad at handstand
- 1:32:20walking. No, she's not going to be the
- 1:32:23Reese Littlewoods or Leah Sorens of the world in handstand
- 1:32:27walking, but she's not bad. So like middle of the pack
- 1:32:31there. There's just not a place where I
- 1:32:33think, oh, she's gonna get hurt a lot in this when this worked
- 1:32:37out and then the bar muscle up snatch Cal bike workout.
- 1:32:43Like I think she'll be one of the fastest snatch cycle order
- 1:32:46slash bar or bar muscles. I think bar muscles is probably
- 1:32:49better for her too. Than rings for sure.
- 1:32:53I don't see where Claudia Gluck has her home run.
- 1:32:57So there's not a gymnastics dense 30 ring muscle up workout
- 1:33:02where Claudia Gluck can win these workouts.
- 1:33:05And there are workouts she'll be good at but there will also be
- 1:33:08workouts that she's middle of the pack on.
- 1:33:10And I'm just honestly though like if Elisa Fuliano Mike could
- 1:33:17win the whole competition. I have her 5th.
- 1:33:19I have her 5th, but it's because of Wadapalooza.
- 1:33:22That wasn't that far from now. It was what, two months, two
- 1:33:27months ago? Yeah, one month ago.
- 1:33:29Month and a half ago. It was in March in.
- 1:33:32March 2 months ago. No, that's my point.
- 1:33:34She was hurt so like and like like couldn't do events hurt.
- 1:33:39And I only have her at fifth because I don't know what she
- 1:33:44like. She shows up the competitions
- 1:33:46not great, and then she shows up to competitions and kills it.
- 1:33:50Like she's very gonna be at the competition no matter what.
- 1:33:53And sometimes she's great and sometimes she's shouldn't be
- 1:33:56there because she's hurt. And like there were she didn't
- 1:34:00do half of water palooza. So I it's just hard to know what
- 1:34:07she's gonna bring. But the programming is great for
- 1:34:10Elisa Fuliano. Why?
- 1:34:13Why is this? Why is this?
- 1:34:15Why is that a thing? It's a thing with one person.
- 1:34:19Yeah, but why? That's something that that's
- 1:34:26that we love about you, John. I why that's bad to say.
- 1:34:29It's not bad to say, I'm just saying that one person hones in
- 1:34:33on this. I know you think those are the
- 1:34:34same people. You think this is a burner?
- 1:34:36That's the same. Burner.
- 1:34:37That's a crazy burner. I always thought of so Claudia,
- 1:34:44she'll come out of like nowhere sometimes and do really well,
- 1:34:48and the same with Elisa. Like they're the two people that
- 1:34:50I doubt all the time and they always pull it off.
- 1:34:52The difference is Elisa's better than Claudia.
- 1:34:54Oh, I'm listen, Elisa very well could win, could win the French
- 1:34:58Throwdown. Oh, the programming stacks up
- 1:35:01for her better than any of the other women.
- 1:35:04Yeah, Claudia needs more high skilled gymnastics.
- 1:35:08I correct and same for Reese, same for Reese.
- 1:35:11Like I, I just, there's too much stuff that goes against them for
- 1:35:16me to put them in there. I think Lucy will be very sneaky
- 1:35:20and just very like 4th place through the whole thing.
- 1:35:24Like for every event. I'm saying not, not.
- 1:35:26I don't think she'll win. An event Lucy could take second
- 1:35:29in the the front squat. It's been strong, yeah, but
- 1:35:33there'll be somebody that comes. Out there might be some other.
- 1:35:35Jennifer, mirror and mirror him. Monroor, that'll be your.
- 1:35:38One of those two, yeah. But what I'm saying is like Lucy
- 1:35:41will just not be bad at anything and end up in 3rd place.
- 1:35:44And if it is an event, what's the last event?
- 1:35:48The last event you can really, it's a shorter.
- 1:35:51Event right? It's the deadlifts and The
- 1:35:53Walking lunges. 21159 deadlifts, cleans, then shoulder to
- 1:35:57overhead. Lucy's a very good barbell
- 1:35:59cyclist. Like I just see if it's if she
- 1:36:02has to go for it versus Claudia Gluck.
- 1:36:05I'm gonna take Lucy in that battle.
- 1:36:07At least it's not the sumo deadlift type holes.
- 1:36:10I've never heard somebody say cyclist, barbell cyclist.
- 1:36:16They always say cycler. I'm sorry, I like the.
- 1:36:20Cyclist it's better. I like it.
- 1:36:22I. Like it so much?
- 1:36:23Better. Boy, you're just really honing
- 1:36:26in on my speech. Phillip.
- 1:36:31Phillip got me, got me going on this.
- 1:36:33That's my. Reasoning this is a good point
- 1:36:34from from PC man and has been dealing with some injuries well
- 1:36:40if. She's caughtler coaching
- 1:36:41herself. Then I'll dock her down another
- 1:36:43couple. Either way, she's not
- 1:36:45qualifying. Aubrey I just think the other
- 1:36:49girls are better than her. What just.
- 1:36:53Been being so morbid about it. Either way she sucks.
- 1:36:56So no, no, no. She's not qualifying.
- 1:36:58John had her 6th either. She's worse.
- 1:37:00It's still not going to qualify. Anyway, that's my reasoning.
- 1:37:03I just think Lucy, they're like she's not going to have any home
- 1:37:06runs, but she's not going to be bad at anything.
- 1:37:08She's going to be pretty good at all of it.
- 1:37:10She'll surprise in some places and she's not going to let you
- 1:37:13down in other places. So I I believe in that
- 1:37:16consistency. She's shown that throughout most
- 1:37:19of her the competitions we've seen her.
- 1:37:23If there were more dense gymnastics, I think Claudia
- 1:37:26could could make it. I think the programming's really
- 1:37:31good for me or him, and I think Amy Kringle is probably just the
- 1:37:34fittest person there. I would not be surprised if
- 1:37:38Elisa Fuliano, she is the one that I put her fifth because I
- 1:37:43have no idea what to expect from her and she was really hurt last
- 1:37:47time. If she's fully healthy, does she
- 1:37:48qualify? I might pick her to win if she's
- 1:37:52fully healthy, yeah. What if she's 80% healthy?
- 1:37:56Then I might pick her 5th. That's what that's what I'm
- 1:38:00making on. I honestly 90% fifth, 80% ninth.
- 1:38:05It's a possibility. That's that's what I'm making
- 1:38:07on, but she's the programming is very good for Elisa Foliano.
- 1:38:11I just don't know what to expect from her.
- 1:38:13So that's why I have her there. Just playing in my bit John,
- 1:38:15damn it. Reese Littlewood, eighth, look
- 1:38:19at that. Just going through Syndicate's
- 1:38:21programming. Would she have been better off
- 1:38:22staying in in Knoxville in the States or going to French?
- 1:38:28I think the deadlift workout would have crushed her.
- 1:38:33I think she would be phenomenal. But don't you think the six,
- 1:38:36don't you think the six Rep front squat would do the same
- 1:38:39thing with her at French? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:38:41I'm just, I'm just going one for one right now.
- 1:38:42I'm just I think the field is a little bit better at syndicate.
- 1:38:47But there's more. Just not not far off, not
- 1:38:49they're gymnastics. They're very close.
- 1:38:51I think she wins the running GHD workout straight up with the
- 1:38:55rope climbs. She won it at crash.
- 1:38:59So like first workout was the aerobic 1.
- 1:39:07The squats. I actually don't think she does
- 1:39:09well in that. I don't think she's like the
- 1:39:11greatest of the squats but she'll be mid pack and then.
- 1:39:16The running one she wins. The running one, yeah, we
- 1:39:18already said that one. The deadlift 1, I think she gets
- 1:39:21crushed. The Wheelbarrow 1.
- 1:39:25Well, Nate? Nate, she'll do very good, but I
- 1:39:28don't think she wins. I think she just does like 5th.
- 1:39:33Wheelbarrow won. She do.
- 1:39:34Good wheelbarrow won she might win the wheelbarrow won because
- 1:39:38it's about handstand walk speed. And then the last one I mean, I
- 1:39:41think she's in Lydia Fisher's camp.
- 1:39:43I just think the overhead squats could hurt hurt hurt her.
- 1:39:47I, I honestly think it's probably pretty equal for her at
- 1:39:52French and Syndicate. It's I don't know, she should
- 1:39:58have went to Africa or Asia. She like I, I think she would
- 1:40:02have made it. I think she would have made it.
- 1:40:03I I think she could beat Surya Miha Miha.
- 1:40:08I do. I really, really, really do.
- 1:40:11I I think French and syndicate both with the programming in the
- 1:40:14fields. The field I mean the French
- 1:40:16field is really good. Yeah, it's it's the women,
- 1:40:20especially the women are really good.
- 1:40:23I mean, that's The thing is you look, you look at you look at
- 1:40:25Europe, the both the French throne and Mad Fitness Festival,
- 1:40:28which is the same weekend to syndicate.
- 1:40:30The thing you have in Europe is they're two weeks apart.
- 1:40:34A lot of the athletes have done and signed up for both.
- 1:40:38So like you have a lot of the top athletes going to go to
- 1:40:42both. So it's not like you have them
- 1:40:45splitting up for Syndicate and Norcal where you're going to
- 1:40:49have the field split versus like both doing the same competition,
- 1:40:53right? And then legends you only with
- 1:40:55only two spots, you only had a handful of people that were
- 1:40:58going to go to that to that you would expect to have qualified,
- 1:41:02right? And then mayhem is just mayhem.
- 1:41:04So like Europe is in different situation in that I think Amy
- 1:41:08Kringle, Mirhem, Claudia, Elisa Mir, like all of them are I
- 1:41:15think are also signed up for Mad fitness festival.
- 1:41:18So you have a lot of the same people Gabby goes to mad.
- 1:41:23So I think from the standpoint of this like top five, the top
- 1:41:29ten, those would be like a chance to qualify for the games.
- 1:41:32Like it's pretty good with from what you might expect.
- 1:41:38So on the men's side, Hopper Lightfoot Feebig.
- 1:41:44Does Hopper win all six? No, he doesn't win them all.
- 1:41:47I don't think he wins the thruster line facing Burpee
- 1:41:51workout. OK.
- 1:41:56But how far? How far when you went through
- 1:42:01this, how far down did you have him in any any event?
- 1:42:04I mean, I think that'll be his worst event, I think.
- 1:42:08He'll take 6th. No, no, I don't think he'll take
- 1:42:156. That's too much.
- 1:42:16I think he'll take like 4th, the six Rep front squat.
- 1:42:20There will be people that beat him in that.
- 1:42:23He'll be fine, but there will be people that beat him in that.
- 1:42:26Jason's a slow squatter for six. 6 is a lot.
- 1:42:29There will be people that beat him in the hand.
- 1:42:31San Juan, yeah. I mean, he's not going to win.
- 1:42:34Like I don't think. I think Dallin's Legends
- 1:42:37performance will be more dominant per SE than Hopper's at
- 1:42:46French Throwdown. But he'll win event 1 and it
- 1:42:50which is the run Rd. he probably should win event 2.
- 1:42:54So it'll look very dominant. And then event three I think
- 1:42:58he'll get top five. Event 4 is a chipper with Rd.
- 1:43:03climbs and bench press. He'll win that.
- 1:43:05So the first four events he's going to win 3, but then I don't
- 1:43:10think he wins the front, the front squats, I think there will
- 1:43:12be multiple people that beat him.
- 1:43:14I don't think he wins the handstand walk.
- 1:43:16I think multiple people will beat him.
- 1:43:18So and then event 6 is deadlifts and lunges and weightlifting
- 1:43:26chipper. Basically, that is a workout
- 1:43:30that I think Moritz Feebig could just send it and win like Hopper
- 1:43:34might win that one, but or Callum Clements, some just big
- 1:43:39guy that can just really hold on and things.
- 1:43:41The weight's not crazy heavy and and Jason will have it sewed up
- 1:43:46by then. So like he's not incentivized to
- 1:43:48go hard on it, but I think he'll win three of the six events and
- 1:43:53I'm. Going to put my money on Fabian
- 1:43:55Herman's to do well twice. Yeah, Fabian has home runs for
- 1:44:00sure, But yeah, but I don't think, and The thing is
- 1:44:05everybody else is going to do bad at something and he's not
- 1:44:10going to do bad at anything and then win 3 events.
- 1:44:13So he'll end up in first by a lot.
- 1:44:15I think he'd, I think it's very safe.
- 1:44:17I think it was a smart call. I definitely think he wins by
- 1:44:22more than if he did syndicate. I don't think it's a given he
- 1:44:28would win syndicate. 4H isn't going.
- 1:44:31Tom Kington is going. You can always wish, but that's
- 1:44:35not the case. It's going to happen.
- 1:44:37What is Tom Kingman good at other than?
- 1:44:42Everything. You've been hoping for this for
- 1:44:43two years. Dude, he's been, he's this close
- 1:44:46dude, he's almost qualified in three different ways.
- 1:44:49And he never has. He's the Tyler Christian Fellow
- 1:44:51of Europe. No, he isn't.
- 1:44:53He's the Tyler Christian Fellow of Europe.
- 1:44:54That is not your award. He basically just.
- 1:44:56Quits. He's basically just quits.
- 1:44:58We should call him Tom. Quick, Quinton.
- 1:45:02So what? We should call him Tom.
- 1:45:04I'm not against you. Tyler is making this happen.
- 1:45:07I actually. Like, no I'm not.
- 1:45:09If Tyler didn't root for him, he would might have a chance, but.
- 1:45:13Anything Tyler has never been good at picking successful
- 1:45:15people. It's not true.
- 1:45:19It is true, Tyler, you're, you're amazing.
- 1:45:21It I didn't give him the death kiss.
- 1:45:23You haven't say he's he's the Tyler Christopher.
- 1:45:25If I give you the Tyler Christopher Award, you're never
- 1:45:27going to the games. I know, but you haven't.
- 1:45:29You don't. And Jorge is the only one who
- 1:45:31has has made that not true because he cheated.
- 1:45:36He didn't cheat, Taylor did it for him.
- 1:45:40That's not. You can't blame Jorge.
- 1:45:42All right, we're going to go to some blind rankings.
- 1:45:48Yeah, Sublime rankings. Name that athlete.
- 1:45:51We are working on a little project.
- 1:45:54Might do some some interactions with some fans, try to beat John
- 1:45:59in the future. We're.
- 1:46:00Thinking like a stump, the Schwab kind of a deal.
- 1:46:03So if you think you know CrossFit and you want to go
- 1:46:06against me, we're going to make it possible and you could win
- 1:46:09money. And you could win money, that
- 1:46:11is, that is what we're working on.
- 1:46:12So more to come on that here soon.
- 1:46:14And while we we work on that, we're going to bring back some
- 1:46:18blind rankings. And so, yeah, it's this.
- 1:46:23This week's theme is Hollywood All.
- 1:46:29Right. Get blind.
- 1:46:30Get blind, Tyler. Hollywood, I can't.
- 1:46:31I don't have anything. He doesn't have anything.
- 1:46:33I don't know how you're not well.
- 1:46:35We're no longer sponsored by Put.
- 1:46:37Your shirt over your head. That's weird.
- 1:46:41There you go. Right there.
- 1:46:42Just Yeah, Just there. No, no.
- 1:46:44Yeah. Put it over your headphone.
- 1:46:45Put it over your headphones. I I want your head to like, pop
- 1:46:51out still. There you go.
- 1:46:55Yeah. Just like that.
- 1:46:57Yeah. This is brought to you by
- 1:46:59Mayhem. Can you hear me, Tyler?
- 1:47:02This. Is going to stay.
- 1:47:03Yeah, Tyler, that looks so beautiful.
- 1:47:05You look like a baby crowning. This is not going to work.
- 1:47:11Oh, you look so good, Tyler. I don't want to do this one.
- 1:47:14Blind. No.
- 1:47:15Tyler. No.
- 1:47:16All right. No.
- 1:47:17No. Blind.
- 1:47:18Here we go. Turn.
- 1:47:18Around. Turn around.
- 1:47:22Then you won't be able to hear me.
- 1:47:23Yeah, here we go. Or we're just going to do do the
- 1:47:26old school blind rankings. No, this is not fun at all.
- 1:47:30Yeah. John just play along.
- 1:47:33Just. I I hate this.
- 1:47:35That's a great oh man. All right, here we go.
- 1:47:40Here we go. Which CrossFit Games athlete
- 1:47:44could have a career in Hollywood at some point, whether it's now,
- 1:47:48later, etcetera. All right, here we go.
- 1:47:52First up, Miss Domit 1. Yeah. 1.
- 1:48:00Yeah, immediately one. Wow.
- 1:48:02Why? She's the prettiest.
- 1:48:04She's got the look. Yeah.
- 1:48:08She also has the attitude IA 100.
- 1:48:10Percent I agree. I agree that she has she likes
- 1:48:15Dragon Ball Z. She's a pretty girl that likes
- 1:48:18Dragon Ball Z. Dude, there's so many guys that
- 1:48:22like go head over heels for that.
- 1:48:24Like I, I, I agree with Tyler. All right, Miss Dolman, we've
- 1:48:28already solved who's the winner, but we'll find out if you guys
- 1:48:30made a mistake. Next up, Ricky.
- 1:48:35So it's the type. It's the type.
- 1:48:37Of Hollywood, no. No.
- 1:48:38So Danielle's going to show up in this list, right?
- 1:48:41Yeah, Danielle would be fine. She's.
- 1:48:43She's MTV Hollywood though. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:48:46For sure. Delma is is like.
- 1:48:48Margot Robbie type Hollywood. Yeah, she's that type of
- 1:48:51Hollywood. Ricky.
- 1:48:52He's in Hollywood, but he's doing no.
- 1:48:55Ricky's in Spartacus, but in the background.
- 1:48:58Ricky is one of the guys in the 300 whose ABS are great, but he
- 1:49:03never talks. Oh, he's a great standing.
- 1:49:08Yeah, you're right. Dude, he Ricky's A5 man, he
- 1:49:10just. I want to give him a four.
- 1:49:12There's somebody where? He talks.
- 1:49:14You wouldn't understand what he was saying.
- 1:49:16Like he's, you've got to be. Able to play, that's the perfect
- 1:49:18role for one of those. Who was the bigger he?
- 1:49:21He was on podcast podcast from time to time.
- 1:49:25He was a bigger, bigger guy, a Hollywood star and he was a
- 1:49:28Crossfitter. Somebody will CrossFit will know
- 1:49:31this. I cannot remember his name, but
- 1:49:37he always played the bad guy and Ricky would be a great bad guy.
- 1:49:41Doesn't have a speaking part, is just like like an evil dude.
- 1:49:48Where we putting Ricky? I will see it on 4 but I get the
- 1:49:52next one. All right, fine.
- 1:49:54All right. Next up, Howard Lightfoot.
- 1:50:00Oh dude, I mean Peaky Blinders you already has a role.
- 1:50:04You can't use Peaky 8. I think 3.
- 1:50:11Tate. I think, I think 3 for Harry.
- 1:50:14Harry's got a personality like a like a really good one.
- 1:50:18He's really likable. But he's going to be in like.
- 1:50:21Green St. Hooligans like, like there's so
- 1:50:25many. British.
- 1:50:25He's only in British movies. OK, he's British, dude, you got
- 1:50:29to hold that against him. What is that British like?
- 1:50:31Ricky's Australian and can't talk and we put him in.
- 1:50:35Four, yeah, but you can put him in some other movies.
- 1:50:37Harry is like, he is English, he's London, he's that's it.
- 1:50:43He's getting tight cast. He's never escaping it.
- 1:50:46Benedict Cumberbatch, man. Yeah, but Benedict Cumberbatch
- 1:50:50can play all kinds of people. Harry can play 1 character.
- 1:50:54Listen, I think Harry could have an American accent.
- 1:50:58He could do. He could do Boston.
- 1:50:59You're right. He could dude.
- 1:51:02He could. He could be dude.
- 1:51:04He could. He could be in the town.
- 1:51:06He could be in any Ben Affleck Matt Damon movie 100.
- 1:51:09Percent Peter get him to say fame famous movie lines just but
- 1:51:14non non-english ones. You know that Pedro is going to
- 1:51:17be doing the commentary for French Throwdown on the English
- 1:51:20side. So, so TuneIn, tune into that.
- 1:51:23That'll be interesting. I want to go 5 but John gets the
- 1:51:26pick. I want to go.
- 1:51:27I want to go 3. Three, that's a better.
- 1:51:30Five, it also gives us crazy. It gives us more versatility.
- 1:51:33He's not better than Ricky, I'm sorry.
- 1:51:36Dude, you just like Ricky. I think Ricky would be a
- 1:51:39terrible actor. You got to memorize lines.
- 1:51:41I said he doesn't get any lines. He's just mean.
- 1:51:44He's a villain. All right, two or five is left.
- 1:51:50Mr. Hopper, I. Think Hopper would be great?
- 1:51:52He's basically Homelander. Hopper would be a terrible movie
- 1:51:58star. No, he wouldn't.
- 1:51:59What are you talking about? He gets to do like Chris Pratt
- 1:52:02before Chris Pratt got attractive.
- 1:52:04Oh, no, no, no, I don't see that for Jason.
- 1:52:07I see Jason as being a bad guy. It's only football movies.
- 1:52:14You just think that because he's a football, he's because he's a
- 1:52:16football guy. I see Jason as being like, like
- 1:52:20the boyfriend that is the bad guy that steals your girl.
- 1:52:25Is it? You see what I'm saying?
- 1:52:26Like a movie like that where like you're trying to no, no,
- 1:52:29no, no, no. That is not necessarily a
- 1:52:31football movie. Do you understand what I'm
- 1:52:34saying? Yes, I know what you mean.
- 1:52:36He's a he's a college douche or a high school douche.
- 1:52:39Well, yeah, dude, he plays that role perfectly and, and maybe
- 1:52:44he's not a douche, he's just misunderstood.
- 1:52:49Give him 2. I I just think that that there's
- 1:52:52no way Jason is a worse actor than Ricky Garrard.
- 1:52:56I did not expect Topper to be #2 on this list.
- 1:52:58But me either the. Next one's going to be Danielle
- 1:53:00Brandon. We'll be screwed.
- 1:53:02No. All right, fine.
- 1:53:03Put him, put him in. Five.
- 1:53:04Put him in five. You want him in five.
- 1:53:06Just put him in five. I I I I don't.
- 1:53:09I do think Danielle Brandon is parental control in a parent in
- 1:53:13a person the the show parental control.
- 1:53:19I can't. I know it's ringing a bell, but
- 1:53:22I can't. Remember it the MTV show I.
- 1:53:27Don't know. Anyway, you're putting this
- 1:53:29person at #2 between Domin and Lightfoot, Alex, because.
- 1:53:37She's indie movie famous. Yeah, listen, Alex would be
- 1:53:40really good, but it's a very specific genre.
- 1:53:46Like, you know that movie? You know that movie Into the
- 1:53:49Wild? Into the wild.
- 1:53:51What? What?
- 1:53:52What happens? Where he goes with the boys?
- 1:53:53No, no, no, no, no. He goes to Alaska.
- 1:53:56He like, burns all his credit cards.
- 1:53:58This guy goes. To Alaska.
- 1:53:59And then I mean it's a based on a true story and lives his life
- 1:54:04like just and then he ends up. In the woods.
- 1:54:06Yeah, yeah, yeah. Alex would be good in Juneau.
- 1:54:11What is that supposed to mean? That's not.
- 1:54:13True his his G or his CrossFit commercial, the the RIP off the
- 1:54:19Sidney Swinney commercial. He did great.
- 1:54:21And that was like, really hard. Jason would be good, man.
- 1:54:24We messed this list. Up proven actors, Jason has the
- 1:54:28most proof. Oh, now you're all about it.
- 1:54:30I've I've literally said it should be two and you're going
- 1:54:33to push back on it because now we have Alex.
- 1:54:37It goes Dome it. Listen, Ricky should have been
- 1:54:39fine. That's all that there should be.
- 1:54:41And you, you have messed this list up.
- 1:54:45I think it's Abby, Jason, Harry, Alex, Ricky.
- 1:54:51You just like Ricky more. Ricky, you like as.
- 1:54:55Long as he doesn't talk. That means he's fine.
- 1:55:00That means he. Is how you look is like 90% of
- 1:55:03the battle in Hollywood. I didn't.
- 1:55:04Even think about the Jason like commercials that he freaking
- 1:55:08does. Like dude, you're you're so I
- 1:55:10cannot believe I let you talk me into you've ruined this list.
- 1:55:15This you have. This is what happens when
- 1:55:17Tyler's not freaking blind spam. Whenever we take away the
- 1:55:21blindness, we get this freaking ridiculous list like this.
- 1:55:25What's great, What's great? Are we doing man?
- 1:55:28Good. Look at this.
- 1:55:29Look at this. He can do any Mel Gibson
- 1:55:32character. Done.
- 1:55:34Oh wait, wrong one. Ricky can do any male Gibson.
- 1:55:39Character I don't care. Mad Max and he doesn't even
- 1:55:40drive. Mad Max is an overrated movie.
- 1:55:43It is not. Oh my God, I would.
- 1:55:45I'd I'd lose, I'd leave the show.
- 1:55:48I don't even care. Cue the Dave Castro meme.
- 1:55:53Zoo cares. That's fair.
- 1:55:56There you go. That's that's Abigail Dolmet
- 1:55:58doesn't qualify 3 games next year.
- 1:56:00She could go work in Hollywood. Last up, just some news
- 1:56:06headlines. No drug testing at in person
- 1:56:08masters events. Good bad.
- 1:56:11What's the solution for that? Should they do anything?
- 1:56:16John, you had, you had a, you had a winner.
- 1:56:18Yeah, we, we actually asked, we're like, hey, 'cause we were
- 1:56:23told that there would be drug testing.
- 1:56:24Yeah, that's what I heard. At Magic City.
- 1:56:26And we we, I asked. Like the front desk.
- 1:56:31Hey, where do we go? Like when it's over because we
- 1:56:36were trying to leave like as soon as it was over, we're
- 1:56:39trying to get times to figure out when we can leave and
- 1:56:41everything because I had to coach the next day.
- 1:56:42So like, I'm needing to know how long would you stay?
- 1:56:46And then the girl looked at me and she goes, I actually don't
- 1:56:49think we're drug testing. And I go, cool, all right, all
- 1:56:54right, sounds good. Well, if I just wanted to know
- 1:56:56if we were we're we're ready to take it.
- 1:56:59I just need to know where we need to go, right?
- 1:57:02Marissa was freaking out because she took Mucinex and and I'm
- 1:57:08like, you got to stop. You got to stop.
- 1:57:10She's she's one of those like, like doesn't want to take
- 1:57:14anything, refuses to take medicine when she's sick.
- 1:57:17Like, like, it's ridiculous. You eat a poppy seed bagel, it's
- 1:57:22all over. Yeah.
- 1:57:26Also, it's true. No, she told.
- 1:57:30She told my mom. She told my mom.
- 1:57:32So she goes, yeah, I was really concerned about the the biking
- 1:57:36one because I coughed all night. So I took some Mucinex and then
- 1:57:40my mom was like, well, I hope they don't drug test for that.
- 1:57:42Like joking. And then I looked at my mom with
- 1:57:46like, the meanest look because I know what this is about to do.
- 1:57:51And I'm like, stop, just stop. Go over there.
- 1:57:55Like, like this. I was so irritated.
- 1:57:58And now she's just freaking out. Like, like, and I was like, this
- 1:58:03is ridiculous. I cannot believe you did this,
- 1:58:05Mom. I I was, I was so mad.
- 1:58:08And like, she didn't understand why.
- 1:58:10And obviously, like, it was fine.
- 1:58:12But yeah. But anyway.
- 1:58:16Keep telling them, keep telling them you're going to test them.
- 1:58:18Keep testing them. And it's just like.
- 1:58:21No, I think if you're not going to test them, you should still
- 1:58:25say there is a chance that we're going to test chalk and then
- 1:58:28sometimes too, it's low. Yeah, but but, but maybe you
- 1:58:33could test the winners one year. I know it's supposed to be super
- 1:58:37expensive but maybe just test the winners like what if?
- 1:58:40You just have surprise test 1. So my thought is like you have,
- 1:58:44I mean, in the past, in the old regional days or even like the,
- 1:58:48the semi final days, right? Like when you when it had like
- 1:58:51the Super regionals and it was based off the strength of
- 1:58:54schedule and like 11 people from North America East qualify.
- 1:58:57They did like 13 drug tests. So like they had the ability
- 1:59:02back then to do it again. They've made an extra $1.7
- 1:59:06million doing quarterfinals. They have some extra cash in
- 1:59:09their coffer. Just do some random testing.
- 1:59:14I think you pick the most juiced out looking person and then just
- 1:59:17say you've been selected randomly to be drug.
- 1:59:19Tested some profiling. Because 100% there are masters
- 1:59:24people where you're like, they're all stuff.
- 1:59:26Right, like of all the divisions not to pissed.
- 1:59:29Every competition there's 100% there's people in each division
- 1:59:33that you're like, OK and this and you know, some of them are
- 1:59:37just really look like that and props to those people, but IA
- 1:59:40lot of them. You sure about that?
- 1:59:42Don't like No. Yeah, there are some people who
- 1:59:44are just more of them than others.
- 1:59:46All of them don't really look like that.
- 1:59:48Listen, Jr. is in the old people division.
- 1:59:51Jr. takes his shirt. Off.
- 1:59:52Yeah, but if you didn't know that these other people might
- 1:59:55just eat meat only all all I'm saying is that it doesn't hurt
- 2:00:00to test these people, right? And just. 100% profile people
- 2:00:06and then be like you've been selected and then test them.
- 2:00:09You'll catch some and some you'll they'll be clean.
- 2:00:12But. But then, but then just say
- 2:00:13there's drug testing and just pick one person, right?
- 2:00:16And then it scares enough people away from doing stuff.
- 2:00:19I have a great business idea for.
- 2:00:21This except for South America. South America say we're testing
- 2:00:24one through 40. How?
- 2:00:26What percentage here? Let me just throw this out
- 2:00:29there. While we're on South America.
- 2:00:31While we're on South America, if we tested one through 40 at Copa
- 2:00:35Sur, how many, how many pop tests are we getting?
- 2:00:39Over 50%. No.
- 2:00:41I think so. Dude, we had to get to 7th place
- 2:00:44to get to a team. To get a team to the games, we
- 2:00:48had to get to 7th place. It's embarrassing.
- 2:00:52It was also Asia a couple years ago I.
- 2:00:53I think we just do it and see. I think we just do.
- 2:00:56I bet you it's over half. My business plan for this to
- 2:01:02alleviate CrossFit problems is give us some water uniforms or
- 2:01:06you saw to whoever does it and we'll just go and make like over
- 2:01:1250% of the athletes pee in cups and we won't test any of them.
- 2:01:16Dude, that's yeah, no, I mean, that's great.
- 2:01:19Yeah. Why don't you just say, hey, we
- 2:01:21will be investing and then you don't have to just make a deal,
- 2:01:24throw it away. Yeah, but then people like that
- 2:01:26have been doping and they get through.
- 2:01:27They're like. It would, yeah, but it would, it
- 2:01:30would, it would deter some, that's all.
- 2:01:34And and these people will be like, I can't believe I just got
- 2:01:37lucky. If they cross the finish line,
- 2:01:40you just give them a cup. I guarantee you that these
- 2:01:42people who are who are juicing through the gills, like at least
- 2:01:47they'll cycle off. They'll be less juiced in
- 2:01:49before. I didn't think about this.
- 2:01:53We would have to actually work for you, Sada.
- 2:01:55Because like, if I'm just like, all right, dude, I need to stare
- 2:01:58at your Wiener for the next 30 seconds.
- 2:02:01But I'm not going to say bring it back, just bring it back in 5
- 2:02:04minutes. Hold on, I got to address this
- 2:02:06idiocy. And I'm sorry, Lupe, you're a
- 2:02:09great watcher of the show. You're in here all the time.
- 2:02:12This was a dumb comment. I said they had to get to team 7
- 2:02:17to get somebody to go to the games meeting.
- 2:02:19First pop, second pop, third pop, 4th pop, 5th pop, 6th pop.
- 2:02:24And then a team finally didn't pop.
- 2:02:27They didn't test 8 through 24. They just said we need somebody,
- 2:02:34somebody that's clean. And they got to seven before
- 2:02:38they found one person. They didn't test the rest of the
- 2:02:42field. You know they.
- 2:02:43Tested the rest of the field, Lupe.
- 2:02:45It would have been insane. You're better than this, Lupe.
- 2:02:49You're better than this. I don't even know your name, but
- 2:02:51I hope we meet and I hope I can say that you're better than this
- 2:02:55in person. Teams only test half the
- 2:02:59athletes too, so think about that.
- 2:03:03That's a good point. Can you imagine being a teammate
- 2:03:07and you're doing drugs and somebody else on your team gets
- 2:03:10bopped and you didn't have to test?
- 2:03:15That was your fault there. Whoa.
- 2:03:17What pop close pop. You pop me pops.
- 2:03:20MIM pops. Yeah, no pop.
- 2:03:23Let's get to that. No pop.
- 2:03:25Yeah. So I, I mean, I think they need
- 2:03:27to do some type of random, even if it's like 5 tests or six
- 2:03:31tests, like just do a handful, scare them off, do something
- 2:03:34like that, No. Crap, Lupe.
- 2:03:38No crap. And it you'd listen.
- 2:03:40And I'm sorry that I'm going off on you a little right now, Lupe.
- 2:03:43No, don't go. Back pedal, Jeff, but there is
- 2:03:46so much dumb people in the comments that like write
- 2:03:50something that you just wrote and I don't.
- 2:03:53I'd like you, Lupe, because I see your comments and you're
- 2:03:57generally not not that bad, but I just, there's a lot of people
- 2:04:02out there that are really bad and I just want you to be
- 2:04:05better. That's it.
- 2:04:06Yeah. That's fair.
- 2:04:08Other news, Norcal same weekend as Syndicate, they're going to
- 2:04:13have 7 events out there in in Sacramento.
- 2:04:18So check that out. I have the schedule out there.
- 2:04:20Has anybody downloaded the World Fitness Project mobile app?
- 2:04:25As soon as it came out. Cool, you can download that.
- 2:04:30You will need a heavy I. Did download the United app
- 2:04:32because I had to, you know, get a flight to syndicate.
- 2:04:37That's cool. Well, you should, you know, like
- 2:04:39around the world, like you know, it's a plane fight.
- 2:04:42I should start counting your trips.
- 2:04:45Man, the, the eye roll I give people and I, I understand how
- 2:04:49funny this is, but when they're like, wait, you know, it's like
- 2:04:52you'll go to like freaking Huddle House and they'll be
- 2:04:55like, yeah, did you download the app?
- 2:04:57No, I didn't download the app. You.
- 2:04:59Don't want an app? I don't want another freaking
- 2:05:01app. That's fair.
- 2:05:05You'll need a heavy medicine ball.
- 2:05:06So while you order a a wheelbarrow from Rogue Fitness,
- 2:05:11you can also order a 30 LB medicine ball for the dudes.
- 2:05:16I assume all the women would have access to a 20 LB medicine
- 2:05:19ball, but you will need that for online semifinals coming up in
- 2:05:23June. Let's see.
- 2:05:26What's the point of the app? So there's actually a weekly
- 2:05:32training program, so they're going to give a workout every
- 2:05:35week. Since it launched last month,
- 2:05:38they were just WFP London events that were then put into the app.
- 2:05:44Nobody's put anything on the leaderboard yet.
- 2:05:47There's announcements, there's links to tickets, there's I
- 2:05:53think they'll have stuff when it comes to their their quarterly,
- 2:06:01yeah, they just have stuff and go download it.
- 2:06:03The links out there on the bar wheel spin dot.
- 2:06:05Com John, you don't read their emails.
- 2:06:07I'm sorry, what were you saying you?
- 2:06:09Don't you don't want that? What else?
- 2:06:13Well, we have to settle this real quick.
- 2:06:16It depends on how fast you say it.
- 2:06:19John, what do you say? I don't know.
- 2:06:23I'm nervous. If I say it.
- 2:06:25If I say. It I think I say Barrow, I think
- 2:06:27I said Barrow, wheelbarrow, wheelbarrow.
- 2:06:30If I'm saying it like I'm speaking to somebody from home,
- 2:06:33it's wheelbarrow. Wheelbarrow.
- 2:06:35That's even different. It's wheelbarrow.
- 2:06:37Wheelbarrow. Well, which one is that?
- 2:06:40I don't even know which one. It says neither.
- 2:06:41It's like BUROH. That's wheelbarrow.
- 2:06:46That's West Virginian. You know there's wheelbarrow
- 2:06:49over here. Wheelbarrow.
- 2:06:51I probably end up actually saying barrel on accident even
- 2:06:55though I know I shouldn't. Is it Barrow?
- 2:06:57Yes. L at the end.
- 2:06:59Wheelbarrow, wheelbarrow. I, I, I still don't know which
- 2:07:03one I say. I feel like it's, it's in the
- 2:07:05middle of what? I feel like it's in the middle
- 2:07:07of those two things. And finally, if you are into
- 2:07:12doping, you can now buy stock in the enhanced Games.
- 2:07:16Their parent company is now trading on the stock market, so.
- 2:07:20Do that for sure. Yeah, for sure.
- 2:07:22Actually, actually, you know what they're doing.
- 2:07:24They're they're, they're the athletes that are doing it.
- 2:07:26First of all, I've heard that like Wes kits is like setting
- 2:07:29like world records and training like left and right.
- 2:07:32Yeah. And so like the swimmers are
- 2:07:35doing the same. And what I've heard, what I've
- 2:07:37heard is when they actually do the enhanced games and they
- 2:07:39start breaking world records, they're going to share like the
- 2:07:42peptides and stuff that they're taking.
- 2:07:43That's what I heard. That's cool.
- 2:07:45That's that's probably bad, but cool.
- 2:07:49Yeah. So I don't know if like they're
- 2:07:50take, I think they're taking like all peptides.
- 2:07:52I don't think they're taking like trend like I think it's
- 2:07:56literally like legal peptides and that's what this company,
- 2:08:00the parent company is gonna start doing is selling and like
- 2:08:03being like some peptide health type thing on top of it.
- 2:08:06So smart. They think there's a lot more.
- 2:08:10If you go to the NFL, you have to like do all this stuff to
- 2:08:12make sure, you know, you can rehab from CTE and all these
- 2:08:15different things. They have all these programs you
- 2:08:17can get in after by enduring, I think to kind of make up for the
- 2:08:22fact that they are openly juicing.
- 2:08:25He's like, OK, talk about what you're doing.
- 2:08:27I think that's super cool. Like even just from a scientific
- 2:08:29standpoint. But then, like, talk about,
- 2:08:33like, all the testing you're doing to make sure your bloods
- 2:08:36aren't like your, your, your blood isn't as thick as, like,
- 2:08:39cement. And then, you know, all of the
- 2:08:42hell stuff that goes into it and, like, kind of scare people
- 2:08:44that way to where it's like, hey, this is not as easy as it
- 2:08:47looks like. This is a super serious hard
- 2:08:49thing to do. Yeah.
- 2:08:52That's all I got. Two hours.
- 2:08:54Got Jr. got Jr. on John. What do you got?
- 2:08:57You got someone last thing to throw out there, JY Barbell.
- 2:09:01Oh, I mean, no, not really. Sign up to JYJY barbell.com.
- 2:09:06You want to get strong or just fit you know it's it's just just
- 2:09:11programming with the strength bias Nicole PR D her deadlift by
- 2:09:1640 lbs today and not even at the world fitness project she hit
- 2:09:20385 that'll. Be good for syndicate.
- 2:09:24Yeah, the deadlift workout, I hope it gives you confidence.
- 2:09:26We were trash at Legends, so hopefully we're a little bit.
- 2:09:30It's because you weren't there. I think it plays a little bit of
- 2:09:33the role, but it's going. To be.
- 2:09:35There, it's no excuse. Oh, I'm going to be there.
- 2:09:38She won't be in the top heat, so I'll be able to be down there
- 2:09:41then I'll make my way over OK. And that and I hope she hears
- 2:09:47this and and takes that personal because I only commentate the
- 2:09:52top 2 heats Nicole. So if I'm down.
- 2:09:56I'll make you commentate all of them, John.
- 2:09:58Well, I'm going to commentate the top team seats too.
- 2:10:00I think that's fair. Let's see about that.
- 2:10:03We'll make, we're going to make you just work everything.
- 2:10:05No, I have to coach. Yeah.
- 2:10:08You know what? No, I won't.
- 2:10:11I won't be. This was bait, John.
- 2:10:16How did you go for it? No.
- 2:10:18No, I know. But you know, I do.
- 2:10:20I do want to give Sidney Smith her props because every time she
- 2:10:26comes up I kind of downgrade her and I do think she's kind of
- 2:10:33fit. I think she has a chance to
- 2:10:35actually qualify. Not in Norco when you look at
- 2:10:37the. Roster I think, I think I think
- 2:10:39so I will have to see the programming, but I do want to
- 2:10:44apologize for my opinions about Sidney Smith.
- 2:10:47I think she is actually fit and she's up and coming and I'm and
- 2:10:52I'm wrong on I was wrong on her. I will not be wrong anymore
- 2:10:57about her. That's it.
- 2:11:00We'll see you guys next week. I apologize to absolutely
- 2:11:03nobody.
