- 0:04Speaker 1: Big things happen when you're pretty, pretty bold, pretty clever,
- 0:08Speaker 1: pretty strong. I'm Danielle Robe and each week my guests
- 0:12Speaker 1: and I have conversations that put a new spin on
- 0:15Speaker 1: pretty This is pretty smart.
- 0:19Speaker 2: This is going to sound so weird.
- 0:22Speaker 1: But I need this episode today, and I needed to
- 0:26Speaker 1: relive it while post producing it because I'm making a
- 0:31Speaker 1: big decision. I'm deciding where I want to live, and
- 0:35Speaker 1: I have to make the decision in the next three weeks.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And really, I have no idea what I want to do.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I feel like I don't know where to turn or
- 0:45Speaker 1: where to get the answer from. I could think it
- 0:48Speaker 1: through all I want, but it's not coming to me,
- 0:52Speaker 1: and I can't hear my own voice. And then I
- 0:55Speaker 1: started producing this episode and I realized I was looking
- 0:59Speaker 1: in the wrong place. The answer is probably not going
- 1:03Speaker 1: to be found in my head. I have to turn
- 1:07Speaker 1: to my heart. Today we're diving into something that's going
- 1:13Speaker 1: to challenge all of us. It's going to challenge how
- 1:16Speaker 1: we think because we usually associate wisdom and intelligence and
- 1:21Speaker 1: problem solving with our brain. But what if the real
- 1:25Speaker 1: magic is happening in our hearts. Today We're going beyond
- 1:29Speaker 1: the usual follow your heart advice and turning to the
- 1:33Speaker 1: actual science behind it with one of the most fascinating
- 1:37Speaker 1: wellness experts I've ever met, Kimberly Snyder. Kimberly's a New
- 1:42Speaker 1: York Times bestselling author, holistic wellness guru, and nutritionists to
- 1:46Speaker 1: celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, and Channing Tatum. She's
- 1:51Speaker 1: been featured everywhere Good Morning America, The New York Times, Vogue,
- 1:55Speaker 1: the Wall Street Journal, and she's here today with us
- 1:59Speaker 1: to talk about her new book, The Hidden Power of
- 2:02Speaker 1: the Five Hearts, where she maps out a path to transformation,
- 2:06Speaker 1: which she says can happen almost overnight.
- 2:10Speaker 2: What we're finding today with modern science is that the
- 2:13Speaker 2: heart really is a power center. It's the main biological
- 2:16Speaker 2: oscillator of your body, which means it sets the rhythms,
- 2:20Speaker 2: it changes your perceptions. So when you go into your
- 2:24Speaker 2: heart and you start to awaken the power, you become
- 2:27Speaker 2: literally more magnetic. Right, people are pulled in Now.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Kimberly partnered with the Heart Math Institute, which is an
- 2:34Speaker 1: organization that has studied heart brain communication for over three decades.
- 2:38Speaker 1: For thirty years, and together they're uncovering how heart brain
- 2:42Speaker 1: communication can truly transform our lives, from our mental health,
- 2:47Speaker 1: to our relationships, to even our physical well being. The
- 2:50Speaker 1: research in her book shows that once people achieve heart coherence,
- 2:54Speaker 1: which she'll explain, we experience significant changes in hormone levels,
- 3:00Speaker 1: levels that affect depression, anxiety, cardiovascular health, weight loss, fertility,
- 3:04Speaker 1: and more.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It turns out that there's forty thousand neurons in our
- 3:09Speaker 2: heart and it sends more messages to the brain than
- 3:11Speaker 2: vice versa. There's a heart field that we're projecting all
- 3:15Speaker 2: the time, which we'll talk about. People register your energy.
- 3:18Speaker 2: You can repel love away without knowing.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It, but don't worry, you can also attract it. So today,
- 3:26Speaker 1: before we hear from Kimberly, the question I'm asking you
- 3:29Speaker 1: is this, If you're like me and you've been trying
- 3:33Speaker 1: to unlock something in your life, and maybe it's not
- 3:36Speaker 1: the same thing as where you want to live. Maybe
- 3:39Speaker 1: it's a new level of peace connection, maybe even thinking
- 3:43Speaker 1: through a relationship question or a work question, or maybe
- 3:46Speaker 1: you've just been feeling overwhelmed or uncertainty, like you don't
- 3:49Speaker 1: know where to turn. What if the answer isn't in
- 3:53Speaker 1: your brain? What if the real wisdom. The real game
- 3:58Speaker 1: changer is just sitting right here in your heart.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Kimberly, Welcome to Pretty Smart. I'm so happy to be
- 4:11Speaker 2: here with you.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I already feel so connected to you same I did
- 4:15Speaker 1: even through the screen, so I'm happy to meet you
- 4:17Speaker 1: in person. Yes, today we're going to be talking about
- 4:20Speaker 1: a heart led life and big feelings so overwhelm, anxiety, energy, fear.
- 4:28Speaker 1: You say that there's actually a powerful solution to all
- 4:31Speaker 1: of this that's actually overlooked.
- 4:33Speaker 2: First all, I just want to say I've been working
- 4:34Speaker 2: in wellness for over a decade, and there's many parts
- 4:38Speaker 2: of this puzzle. I think I started very physically with
- 4:41Speaker 2: food and yoga asanas, and then got more into meditation
- 4:46Speaker 2: when I came across this research around heart coherence, which
- 4:51Speaker 2: is the basis of my new book, The Hitting Power
- 4:53Speaker 2: the Five Hearts. I have to tell you, Daniel, I
- 4:56Speaker 2: thought I had energy before been doing this lifestyle so long.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I would say that my energy has gone up over
- 5:03Speaker 2: seventy percent. I would say that my relationship with my husband,
- 5:08Speaker 2: who I love so much, But all the little bickering,
- 5:10Speaker 2: all the daily communication, you know, miss like the frictions,
- 5:15Speaker 2: it's gotten ninety percent better. And this is such a
- 5:18Speaker 2: powerful message for all of us to realize, is that
- 5:21Speaker 2: whilst we can eat well and we can go to
- 5:23Speaker 2: the gym and do the weight bearing exercise and get
- 5:26Speaker 2: the biohacking devices, this unseen energy inside of us, the
- 5:30Speaker 2: emotional states up and down, the upheavals, the little moments.
- 5:35Speaker 2: For instance, two minutes of irritation puts into motion over
- 5:38Speaker 2: fifteen hundred different biochemical processes that ultimately drain our energy. Right,
- 5:44Speaker 2: there's all these little moments through the day where traffic,
- 5:47Speaker 2: you know, the tantems are the kids. This ages us,
- 5:50Speaker 2: This derails are gut health, This derails our hormonal balance,
- 5:55Speaker 2: this derails are peace. We're overthinking. So this work around
- 5:58Speaker 2: the heart, which is energy, spiritual, and scientific. All these
- 6:02Speaker 2: practices are evidence based, has made such a big difference
- 6:06Speaker 2: in my life and in the lives of my clients.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'm starting to bring it towards into their lives as well.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You talk about something called heart intelligence in your book.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes, what is that? So sometimes we hear about the
- 6:20Speaker 2: heart kind of like sentimental romantic way that I followed
- 6:26Speaker 2: my heart and I fell for this bad dude or
- 6:29Speaker 2: whatever happened, you know, whatever we journey, we go through.
- 6:34Speaker 2: But heart intelligence refers to the place in our heart
- 6:38Speaker 2: that is actually another brain, and a lot of people
- 6:41Speaker 2: didn't realize this. I didn't realize this. Actually a couple
- 6:44Speaker 2: of years ago I started doing research for my last book.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Turns out that there's forty thousand neurons in our heart
- 6:51Speaker 2: and it sends more messages to the brain than vice versa.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So why this matters? Wait, hold on, you have to
- 6:56Speaker 2: say that again slower. Okay, forty thousand neurons in the heart.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So if you are a parent or your friend has
- 7:03Speaker 2: had a child, when you go into the ultrasound, first
- 7:07Speaker 2: thing that comes as the heartbeat, right before the brain
- 7:11Speaker 2: is formed. So there's a different type of intelligence that
- 7:14Speaker 2: even precedes the brain. And for millennia, let's go back
- 7:19Speaker 2: in time. The ancients, talking to ancient Egyptians, the Babylonians,
- 7:24Speaker 2: the Greeks, all world religions have always talked about the
- 7:28Speaker 2: heart as more than a physical organ, its gateway, this
- 7:31Speaker 2: power center. So what we're finding today with modern science
- 7:35Speaker 2: is that the heart really is a power center. It's
- 7:38Speaker 2: the main biological oscillator of your body, which means it
- 7:41Speaker 2: sets the rhythms it changes your perceptions. So when you
- 7:46Speaker 2: go into your heart and you start to awaken the power,
- 7:49Speaker 2: which is the first part of the book title The
- 7:51Speaker 2: Hidden Power, they start to increase what's called coherence, which
- 7:55Speaker 2: is heart brain nervous system communication. Heart brain nervous system.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Why does this matter? It means more clarity, more energy.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So you slow aging, you increase your vitality. There's a
- 8:06Speaker 2: heart field that we're projecting all the time, which we'll
- 8:09Speaker 2: talk about. People register your energy. You can repel love
- 8:13Speaker 2: away without knowing it. You can attract things in once
- 8:16Speaker 2: you understand the energy that's measurable by magnetometers, which measure
- 8:21Speaker 2: magnetic fields. Once you understand how to really work with
- 8:24Speaker 2: their heart's power and intelligence. Is our heart talking to us.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So our heart is talking to us through the language
- 8:33Speaker 2: of intuition, but true intuition, true heart coherence is like
- 8:38Speaker 2: you swim from one shore to the next and the
- 8:40Speaker 2: sun is on your back and you feel really great.
- 8:43Speaker 2: In coherence means scientifically that the heart and the brain
- 8:47Speaker 2: aren't talking. So what this feels like in the swim,
- 8:50Speaker 2: let's say, is you run into a rock, you get annoyed,
- 8:53Speaker 2: you swim the wrong direction, you come back, there's fog
- 8:56Speaker 2: in your goggles. You reach the other shore irritated. Right
- 9:00Speaker 2: when we're in incoherence, which most of us, which we'll
- 9:03Speaker 2: talk about the heart stages in a moment, most of
- 9:05Speaker 2: us are feeling a lot of confusion. We're overthinking. It's
- 9:07Speaker 2: like we're going around in circles. We're wasting energy. We
- 9:09Speaker 2: don't even realize it. Right, So it's hard to know
- 9:13Speaker 2: when this heart intelligence is speaking to you unless you
- 9:15Speaker 2: start to create more of that coherence. What we often
- 9:18Speaker 2: think is the heart, these big emotions, the jealousy or
- 9:21Speaker 2: the anger, the irritation, the fear, it's actually of the ego.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It's of the mind. What I call in the book
- 9:27Speaker 2: is the unbridled horse. So when we start to link
- 9:31Speaker 2: the heart and the brain, we start to create this
- 9:34Speaker 2: deeper harmony than we really hear these intuitive messages. Then
- 9:38Speaker 2: we also start to turn on the third brain, which
- 9:40Speaker 2: is the gut.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And there's we have a brain in our gut, like
- 9:43Speaker 1: you said in your book, right, yes, one.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Two, three, that's right.
- 9:48Speaker 1: There's five heart stages and they're based on is it
- 9:52Speaker 1: Vedic wisdom?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Is that vedas exactly? So I always wait, Danielle until
- 9:58Speaker 2: there's this sponda real inspiration, like, you know, what do
- 10:02Speaker 2: I really want to share? So, as I mentioned to you,
- 10:05Speaker 2: I was researching my last book, which came out in
- 10:07Speaker 2: twenty twenty two, okay, and I came across this insane
- 10:12Speaker 2: to me, like mind blowing research around the heart. So
- 10:15Speaker 2: I started to take this deep dive into the science.
- 10:18Speaker 2: And at the same time, I started to go back
- 10:20Speaker 2: into the Vedic texts because I love to combine the
- 10:22Speaker 2: ancient teachings with the science. And in the Vedic texts
- 10:27Speaker 2: and Schwamtrieve Deshwar, who is the guru to Paramhatsa Yogananda,
- 10:30Speaker 2: who brought yoga to the West, talks about this in
- 10:32Speaker 2: his book The Holy Science, and he says, there are
- 10:35Speaker 2: five stages that we all go through to awaken the
- 10:39Speaker 2: human heart. And guess what, As I was reading the
- 10:42Speaker 2: science and learning about these ancient teachings, it turns out
- 10:46Speaker 2: that they line up. So for instance, the first heart stage,
- 10:50Speaker 2: which is the dark heart, where we heart and brain
- 10:53Speaker 2: aren't talking scientifically. What that feels like in our life
- 10:57Speaker 2: is confusion, you know, low energy, she overwhelmed, lots of irritation, frustration, fear. Right,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it goes all the way that the science matches the
- 11:08Speaker 2: heart stages.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I don't want to interrupt you, but something is clicking
- 11:13Speaker 1: for me. I always would joke that I was so
- 11:17Speaker 1: exhausted all the time when I was younger, in my
- 11:20Speaker 1: early twenties, and I really was exhausted.
- 11:22Speaker 2: I was like a sleepy girl.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Yes, And people complain of having less energy as they
- 11:28Speaker 1: get older, and I have become more aligned and my
- 11:31Speaker 1: energy has increased exactly.
- 11:34Speaker 2: People say all these things, these beliefs as we age,
- 11:38Speaker 2: like this happens, and this happens. It doesn't have to
- 11:41Speaker 2: be that way. First of all, because there's this torus
- 11:44Speaker 2: field is energy that comes from the heart. It's literally renewing.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And when we're not coming from such a heady, overthinking place,
- 11:51Speaker 2: when we start to turn on that heart's wisdom, we
- 11:53Speaker 2: start to flow through life in a very different way.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And with the heart stages, the hidden power, the five hearts,
- 12:00Speaker 2: the five hearts are five different realities. There are five
- 12:03Speaker 2: different stages that we So we could be sitting here
- 12:07Speaker 2: in the same situation, and the more awake our hearts are,
- 12:11Speaker 2: we're having a very different experience. Yeah, right, it's the experience,
- 12:15Speaker 2: the internal experience So, as I mentioned, the dark heart
- 12:18Speaker 2: is not evil, but darkly you can't see. Heart and
- 12:22Speaker 2: brain aren't talking. So so much confusion, so much fear.
- 12:25Speaker 2: When I look back on periods when I was in
- 12:27Speaker 2: the dark heart, even externally, I chose partners, really nice
- 12:32Speaker 2: guys who were really safe, because there's so much fear
- 12:35Speaker 2: of abandonment from my childhood. Right, So I was like, eh,
- 12:38Speaker 2: I don't really like completely love you, but you love me,
- 12:42Speaker 2: and this is good enough because you won't leave me.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And the next time we start to build energy, and
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'll talk about that in the book, through the teachings
- 12:49Speaker 2: and the practices, so more energy starts to come. Then
- 12:52Speaker 2: we enter the second heart stage, which is propelled. So
- 12:55Speaker 2: the propelled heart is searching for meaning and validation externally.
- 13:00Speaker 2: So this is where we start to really care about
- 13:02Speaker 2: what we look like on social media. This is where
- 13:05Speaker 2: we have some rigid life plan. I'm supposed to be
- 13:07Speaker 2: married and have two kids by the time I'm thirty three,
- 13:09Speaker 2: supposed to make this much money. How do I look?
- 13:12Speaker 2: We become almost obsessed with different diet plans and biohiking
- 13:16Speaker 2: and self help tools. None of this is wrong, but
- 13:19Speaker 2: so much of how we define our work is externally focused. Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 2: so this leads to stress, burnout, anxiety, insomnia, always on,
- 13:28Speaker 2: never feeling content right. And I can say I spent
- 13:31Speaker 2: a lot of my life in the propelled heart over
- 13:33Speaker 2: cheever perfectionist eating disorders in high school. So then I
- 13:37Speaker 2: look at the relationships when I was in that heart stage,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and it was often you know, oh, this person looks good,
- 13:43Speaker 2: and we go to the same events and we fit
- 13:46Speaker 2: into the plan, but disconnection. So then the third heart
- 13:51Speaker 2: stage is known as the steady heart, and this is
- 13:53Speaker 2: where we start to be this anchor to ourselves through
- 13:57Speaker 2: ups and downs. Like you were saying, we stopped pleading
- 14:00Speaker 2: so much energy because we're not needing so much from
- 14:02Speaker 2: the outside world to validate us, to see us like
- 14:05Speaker 2: the hustle. We start to be more anchored, and coherence
- 14:09Speaker 2: from a scientific standpoint starts to increase, so we start
- 14:12Speaker 2: to have more vitality and more energy. Then stage four
- 14:15Speaker 2: is the devoted heart, and this is where our intuition
- 14:18Speaker 2: really turns on. It's a high state of heart awakening
- 14:20Speaker 2: and coherence, so we feel more clear and we start
- 14:24Speaker 2: to awaken more of unconditional love, peace, compassion, and because
- 14:28Speaker 2: we're in so much coherence, we have so much emotional intelligence,
- 14:32Speaker 2: so our work situations tend to work out better and
- 14:35Speaker 2: our relationships tend to have less drama on more peace.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And then the fifth stage is the clear heart brain harmony.
- 14:41Speaker 2: This is feeling oneness and deep connection. This is where
- 14:44Speaker 2: there's great synchronicities. And so it's not that oh, we
- 14:47Speaker 2: get one stage and you know, we never leave. We
- 14:50Speaker 2: flow a lot, but we tend to be in one
- 14:52Speaker 2: stage more. But it's important to understand the stages. So
- 14:55Speaker 2: if you find a dark heart moment, you can get
- 14:57Speaker 2: out faster and you're not in there much. And the
- 15:00Speaker 2: clear heart, you know, when you're washing the dishes and
- 15:03Speaker 2: you sort of go into a space of non thinking,
- 15:05Speaker 2: or you look into your dog's eyes or your child's eyes.
- 15:08Speaker 2: We all experience these stages. But what the book is
- 15:12Speaker 2: about is training your coherence, doing these tools so that
- 15:16Speaker 2: you start to awaken the heart and inhabit the higher
- 15:19Speaker 2: stages more.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And I heard you say that when you are awakened
- 15:24Speaker 1: and aligned, that's when you can take quantum leaps and.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So leaps nonlinear.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Well, this is really important because we're using well we're
- 15:33Speaker 1: using words that maybe sound woo woo nonlinear quantum, right,
- 15:37Speaker 1: but it's actually very practical. We all go through life thinking, okay,
- 15:41Speaker 1: we have to go to first grade and then second grade,
- 15:44Speaker 1: and then when we get out of school, we go
- 15:46Speaker 1: to college, and then we get this job. And you're
- 15:49Speaker 1: saying you can actually move from A to Z very quickly,
- 15:54Speaker 1: you don't have to go through def and G.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Well, so, first of all, when we're talking about the heart,
- 16:00Speaker 2: when we're talking about energy, this is the same thing
- 16:02Speaker 2: in quantum physics. It's non linear, meaning it's not how
- 16:06Speaker 2: we perceive Newtonian physics like ABC like an instruction manual. Right.
- 16:11Speaker 2: So there may be periods in this heart awakening where
- 16:14Speaker 2: some like one day you may wake up you're like, whoa,
- 16:18Speaker 2: I see that pattern that I've been like playing out
- 16:20Speaker 2: for years. And then there be other times and I've
- 16:23Speaker 2: experienced this along the whole journey where you're like, oh,
- 16:26Speaker 2: like I'm feeling that fear again. And it's not that
- 16:29Speaker 2: we've regressed, it's just more shedding of who we are not.
- 16:32Speaker 2: So this this field Danielle forty five, if you guys
- 16:36Speaker 2: can see, this is the Taurus field. So this is
- 16:38Speaker 2: there's nothing non scientific about what we're talking about. This
- 16:42Speaker 2: is measured by really sensitive equipment known as magnetometers. So
- 16:46Speaker 2: everything is, everything has an energetic frequency. That's how science works.
- 16:51Speaker 2: And so the heart field is one hundred times stronger
- 16:54Speaker 2: than the brain. So right here, you and me sitting here,
- 16:57Speaker 2: your heartfield, my heartfield is extending eight to ten ten
- 17:00Speaker 2: feet away from the body. That's how strong it is.
- 17:03Speaker 2: So when you start to become more coherent through the
- 17:06Speaker 2: inside through these practices, what happens is your field with
- 17:10Speaker 2: how this actual field which is measured, becomes more strong
- 17:14Speaker 2: and harmonious. And guess what that means. You become literally
- 17:18Speaker 2: more magnetic. Right, people are pulled in Instead of oh
- 17:21Speaker 2: this is so hard and I'm going on fifty dating
- 17:23Speaker 2: apps and all this stuff, you literally just start to
- 17:27Speaker 2: and I'll give you some examples in a moment, what's
- 17:29Speaker 2: happened in my life. You start to change your perceptions. Yeah,
- 17:32Speaker 2: but it also changes how people perceive you. And so
- 17:36Speaker 2: this isn't you know. Sometimes in the West, I say
- 17:39Speaker 2: this in the book Western movies, you know, the hero
- 17:43Speaker 2: wakes up like die Hard in those kinds of movies,
- 17:45Speaker 2: and he's like, I have the power. I could save
- 17:48Speaker 2: the world, or I could say this building or whatever.
- 17:50Speaker 2: It's like the powers in me. I just didn't see it.
- 17:53Speaker 2: The heart says, there's a power moving through me. So
- 17:58Speaker 2: take out the ego, take out this is my power.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I'm special. Yeah, like no one's special and everyone's special.
- 18:05Speaker 2: It's more about stepping into these fields of energy which
- 18:09Speaker 2: are non specific. That's why everyone can access that. So
- 18:12Speaker 2: I'll give you an example. I was in a focusing
- 18:18Speaker 2: on myself, I would say, a very steady heart stage
- 18:21Speaker 2: where I'd gone through a breakup and my mom had
- 18:23Speaker 2: passed away suddenly, and I was just sort of, you know,
- 18:27Speaker 2: doing a lot of meditation and introspection and didn't see
- 18:31Speaker 2: a lot of you know, didn't do a lot of socializing.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I was doing my work, but just focusing on this anchoring.
- 18:38Speaker 2: And then someone you know invited me that I didn't
- 18:41Speaker 2: even hardly knew from my own feel good podcast, said oh,
- 18:45Speaker 2: do you want to come to this dinner party in Venice?
- 18:48Speaker 2: And I was like okay, like something said come to
- 18:53Speaker 2: this dinner party. So I go to this dinner party
- 18:56Speaker 2: and within the first few minutes I meet this man who,
- 19:01Speaker 2: if I was in my propelled heart head judging very
- 19:05Speaker 2: externally focused. I would never have given this guy at
- 19:08Speaker 2: the time of day, Right, it's not my type. Tattoos
- 19:11Speaker 2: from the neck down, gold grill and his teeth start
- 19:15Speaker 2: talking about smoking meat and cross feeling things I'm very
- 19:18Speaker 2: not not into. But there was such a clarity from
- 19:23Speaker 2: an energetic standpoint, this heart residence, like I could see him,
- 19:26Speaker 2: he could see me. So we went on a walk
- 19:29Speaker 2: the next day, and then he came to this LEVI
- 19:31Speaker 2: speaking event with me, and then by Monday, Danielle said
- 19:35Speaker 2: he loved me. This is the guy who said he
- 19:37Speaker 2: would never get married, went in for a best actomy
- 19:41Speaker 2: and then we got married and we have two kids together.
- 19:44Speaker 2: And you got married like four months later, right two two?
- 19:48Speaker 2: Non linear? Right? So the mind, yeah, the mind says,
- 19:52Speaker 2: oh gosh, that's so fast. But the heart is when
- 19:56Speaker 2: it's calm. And I'm not saying this is the right
- 19:59Speaker 2: path for everyone, because people only wanted to get to
- 20:01Speaker 2: know someone for a few years. But it just deepens.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And this work has brought so much more connection to
- 20:07Speaker 2: our marriage. And I'll tell you another quick story. Mind thinks, oh,
- 20:11Speaker 2: I have to do all these steps. My third book
- 20:13Speaker 2: was called The Baud d talx Power and again someone
- 20:17Speaker 2: bridging science and spiritual teachings is deepop Chopra. So I
- 20:21Speaker 2: sent him the book. After somehow I got through the
- 20:24Speaker 2: you know, the walls, and he reviewed the book. But
- 20:27Speaker 2: then I had this feeling Danielle were meant to do
- 20:29Speaker 2: more together. So I was in more of a clear heart,
- 20:32Speaker 2: just feeling really clear walking across Union Square up to
- 20:35Speaker 2: a meeting and always I would go this way, but
- 20:38Speaker 2: something in me said go this way. So I walked
- 20:41Speaker 2: around the outskirts of the park and who did I
- 20:45Speaker 2: run into? True story on the street, Deep hop Chokra.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I said, Deep, it's me Kimberly just re read my book,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and he was, you know, really receptive and warm. He
- 20:56Speaker 2: gave me his cell phone. A few weeks later, we
- 21:00Speaker 2: met at a coffee shop decided to write a book
- 21:02Speaker 2: together called Radical Beauty, which went on great a New
- 21:06Speaker 2: York Times bestseller. In two hours, we laid out the
- 21:09Speaker 2: six pillars right. And I use these examples again because
- 21:14Speaker 2: this is not something I could have planned from the mind.
- 21:18Speaker 2: This is nonlinear, meaning that energy connects and you don't
- 21:23Speaker 2: know how incredible your life can start to unfold in
- 21:27Speaker 2: daily ways. Just feeling more lightness and peace when you
- 21:30Speaker 2: wake up to certain opportunities and expansion and love coming
- 21:36Speaker 2: in and all sorts of things. Yeah, it all starts
- 21:39Speaker 2: from inside of you. And that's what's so empowering about this.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It's not about do I look good enough, or I
- 21:46Speaker 2: have I achieved enough or whatever? Like have I done
- 21:49Speaker 2: all these things? This power is something that we can
- 21:52Speaker 2: all access. Is the hidden power.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Literally, how do you get if you are in your head?
- 22:01Speaker 1: How do you get out of your head and into
- 22:03Speaker 1: your heart?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Okay, So one of the most profound shifts that we
- 22:08Speaker 2: can make. So we hear these things, Danielle, like, just
- 22:10Speaker 2: stop thinking, think positively, right, we're meditating now, just stop thinking.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But we do it from a mental place, right, So
- 22:20Speaker 2: it's like we're going to the same place where the
- 22:22Speaker 2: problem is. Try to find a solution. So what we
- 22:25Speaker 2: do this heart coherence work. The very first thing we do,
- 22:28Speaker 2: and it's so simple and yet so profound, is you
- 22:32Speaker 2: start to shift your attention to your heart. So do it.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Let's do it right now. We're talking, okay, but just
- 22:37Speaker 2: shift some of it. Part of my heart attention has
- 22:39Speaker 2: been on my heart this whole time, or just even
- 22:42Speaker 2: place your hand on your heart, and anyone watching or
- 22:44Speaker 2: listening this can do this. You feel just little ways
- 22:50Speaker 2: just shift down. Sometimes when you start to connect here,
- 22:53Speaker 2: you may feel disconnected. Maybe your heart's been sort of
- 22:56Speaker 2: you know, and you haven't connected with it in a
- 22:58Speaker 2: long time. But search, even from the American Journal of Cardiology,
- 23:04Speaker 2: it's published in scientific journals, shows that just shifting your
- 23:09Speaker 2: awareness like we are right now to your heart, starts
- 23:12Speaker 2: to rewire your nervous system. Isn't that amazing? You start calmer,
- 23:17Speaker 2: You're starting to create these incredible shifts.
- 23:20Speaker 1: One of the things that I think is interesting about
- 23:23Speaker 1: the book is you talk about these big emotions. Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 1: but for we hear it with gen Z all the
- 23:30Speaker 1: time is that they have big emotions that older generations
- 23:34Speaker 1: don't quite understand or even want to understand.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Sometimes how do you tell.
- 23:39Speaker 1: The difference or decipher between heart direction and emotional impulse.
- 23:43Speaker 2: So one of the things that gets talked about sometimes
- 23:47Speaker 2: is this idea of expressing your emotions. Right, yeah, like
- 23:51Speaker 2: I'm you know, I'm supposed to express everything I feel.
- 23:54Speaker 2: But what the research shows when you take a deep dive,
- 23:57Speaker 2: and this is from you know, there's someone I quill
- 24:00Speaker 2: here doctor Aaron Sigmund from the University of Maryland and
- 24:03Speaker 2: some of the researchers at Heart and app is when
- 24:05Speaker 2: you go into the rage and you go into the
- 24:08Speaker 2: big emotions, you actually create more in coherence and more inflammation,
- 24:13Speaker 2: and you reinforce the neural networks that get stored in
- 24:16Speaker 2: your amygdalah, meaning something happens and you're going to get
- 24:18Speaker 2: reactive again, You're going to get angry over and over again.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So it's not that we want to suppress the emotions,
- 24:24Speaker 2: but similarly to the brain in our gut, how we
- 24:27Speaker 2: can learn to properly digest. What you do with these
- 24:30Speaker 2: practices with hard coherence is you shift in you anchor
- 24:34Speaker 2: to yourself, and then you allow yourself to feel those
- 24:39Speaker 2: big sensations. There's a practice in here called this heartline
- 24:42Speaker 2: study in life. It's based on all this research where
- 24:45Speaker 2: these big sensations of emotions, which are energy and motion,
- 24:49Speaker 2: come and they get really strong and then you digest them.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So you're not suppressing, but you're not projecting, you're not
- 24:56Speaker 2: putting it out into the world, you're not putting your
- 24:59Speaker 2: body through that. In coherence. It's a whole different way
- 25:02Speaker 2: because we all have these big emotions and then keeping
- 25:05Speaker 2: your heart going to your heart coherence, you can actually
- 25:08Speaker 2: digest the emotions and then they don't stay as you know,
- 25:12Speaker 2: emotional triggers that keep getting reinforced over time. So this
- 25:16Speaker 2: term neuroplasticity isn't just in the brain. It's that there's
- 25:20Speaker 2: forty thousand neurons in your heart. So the rewiring patterns
- 25:23Speaker 2: between your heart and your brain. So back to the
- 25:25Speaker 2: quantum leaks. In my life, there were things that, you know,
- 25:28Speaker 2: because of my past. If people interrupted me, I felt
- 25:31Speaker 2: like they didn't see me because of you know, whatever
- 25:33Speaker 2: neglect wounds I had in the past. I get so angry.
- 25:36Speaker 2: I'd be like seething on the inside. But now with
- 25:40Speaker 2: this heart work, you see perceived differently. Oh that person's
- 25:45Speaker 2: just excited.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Oh I think you also see yourself, so you don't
- 25:48Speaker 1: start craving tell other people to see you as much.
- 25:52Speaker 2: But you can also see your limited patterns. Like with
- 25:54Speaker 2: my husband, I could say, oh, I could see where
- 25:57Speaker 2: you know, I could come across as you know, but
- 26:00Speaker 2: entitled or reactive here why he would say this, Yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 2: you see yourself like whoa, so you can blast through.
- 26:07Speaker 2: I've had clients blast through anger issues. I've seen some
- 26:12Speaker 2: clients blast through food cravings because they're not just going
- 26:15Speaker 2: outside of themselves into the food, like incredible change. I
- 26:18Speaker 2: love how you talk about digestion. I'm so moved by that.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I had an eating disorder when I was younger, too,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and I think so many women that grew up in
- 26:25Speaker 1: our generation did for a lot of different reasons. But
- 26:28Speaker 1: you were saying that you weren't digesting feelings.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly so, and then you literally weren't digesting your food.
- 26:35Speaker 2: So in many ways, right, So, I was bliemec. So
- 26:39Speaker 2: it was like too much taking it in, not able
- 26:42Speaker 2: to digest life, like pulling it out, the bloatedness. And
- 26:46Speaker 2: I worked with I can't tell you my thousands of people,
- 26:49Speaker 2: I mean hundreds of clients personally, but then through my
- 26:52Speaker 2: books thousands of people with bloating issues. Bloating isn't just hey,
- 26:56Speaker 2: I don't digest the gluten or the dairy. There's so
- 26:59Speaker 2: much energy like bloating is. It's not passing through, right,
- 27:04Speaker 2: So there's many ways in which we're not really digesting
- 27:06Speaker 2: that experience where we are in time, in that moment,
- 27:09Speaker 2: in that day, that there's emotions, feeling overwhelmed, feeling fear.
- 27:14Speaker 2: So when I started to look at you know, nutrition
- 27:17Speaker 2: and digestion through a much more holistic lens, yeah, it
- 27:21Speaker 2: was you know, transformative.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to talk more about the electromagnetic field. Yes,
- 27:29Speaker 1: in Layman's terms, we all say like, I don't know,
- 27:32Speaker 1: the vibe was just off totally, But that's the.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Vibe, right, the electromagnetic It doesn't lie. So listen to me.
- 27:38Speaker 2: If you say to yourself and you say to your friends,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I really want to I want to find my partner,
- 27:45Speaker 2: I really want healthy love. I don't want there to
- 27:47Speaker 2: be a lot of drama. I want this, this, this.
- 27:50Speaker 2: You can say that, but your field, what you are
- 27:54Speaker 2: putting out, if there's incoherence. Number one, you may continue
- 27:58Speaker 2: to attract the same path because like attracts like the
- 28:01Speaker 2: other thing about magnets and magnetic fields or number two,
- 28:05Speaker 2: what you do want, your energy is registering is not
- 28:08Speaker 2: coherent with that, so you can repel. So you can
- 28:12Speaker 2: say all the witty things you want on the dating
- 28:14Speaker 2: apps and put your best picture, but energy is felt. Right,
- 28:18Speaker 2: then you meet that person and you know whatever, it
- 28:20Speaker 2: doesn't line up, or maybe that person doesn't line up
- 28:23Speaker 2: with you both ways. But all I know for experientially, scientifically,
- 28:29Speaker 2: energetically all of this is that as we work on
- 28:32Speaker 2: the inside, tracting, creating, getting along with people, having healthy
- 28:38Speaker 2: relationships becomes so much more easeful. Easeful. It's just like
- 28:43Speaker 2: things work on a practical level. It's just you know,
- 28:46Speaker 2: the stories and the drama and all these thoughts in
- 28:49Speaker 2: the head. It's just simple flowing moment to moment, and
- 28:53Speaker 2: you bring in more things. The dark heart stage one.
- 28:58Speaker 1: You say it can be an amazing saying opportunity for growth.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, why is it a teacher? So when things don't
- 29:06Speaker 2: work well, it's contrast, right, So dark again, not bad,
- 29:09Speaker 2: But imagine that we turned off all the lights in
- 29:12Speaker 2: this room and close the blinds. Yeah, and I say, Danielle,
- 29:15Speaker 2: go from here to the door. You can't see. You
- 29:18Speaker 2: bang your head or your knee into that. You knock
- 29:22Speaker 2: down some things out really badly, cut your elbow, and
- 29:27Speaker 2: we hurt ourselves when we don't see, we suffer, We
- 29:31Speaker 2: waste energy. We're in that same dead end relationship. Yeah,
- 29:35Speaker 2: we get furloughed from the job for the fifth time,
- 29:37Speaker 2: or we told this or that, it doesn't work, so
- 29:41Speaker 2: it propels us, it moves us into this isn't the
- 29:47Speaker 2: right way, This isn't working. So if we didn't have
- 29:50Speaker 2: that contrast, I mean, we may stay in that state
- 29:53Speaker 2: for decades, lifetimes, who knows, right, So it's this teacher
- 29:59Speaker 2: to move towards the light literally figurity energetically right, the
- 30:04Speaker 2: light of heart coherence, the field getting more coherent and
- 30:08Speaker 2: awakening more to who we really are. The thing that
- 30:12Speaker 2: I value more than anything now is the moment to moment,
- 30:19Speaker 2: moment to moment living is right here right now. What
- 30:22Speaker 2: I mean by that is sometimes we have these ideas,
- 30:25Speaker 2: like I said, of the propelled heart wants to make
- 30:27Speaker 2: these goals for me. When I started out, I wanted
- 30:29Speaker 2: to be an author. Then I wanted to be a
- 30:31Speaker 2: New York Times bestseller, and then when I did that
- 30:34Speaker 2: three times, it's just like more things. But how are
- 30:38Speaker 2: we feeling moment to moment? Do we feel peaceful? Do
- 30:42Speaker 2: we feel connected? Do we feel loving? Are we kind
- 30:45Speaker 2: to ourselves and others? And ultimately that's what really matters, right,
- 30:51Speaker 2: So it's all the stuff we're chasing if you boil
- 30:53Speaker 2: it down to what we're looking for, so we can
- 30:55Speaker 2: have all these things and still not have that. So
- 30:58Speaker 2: for me, this work has given me so much moment
- 31:03Speaker 2: to moment, it's priceless and it's available to everyone, I
- 31:08Speaker 2: believe just through this unlocking inside of us. And I
- 31:12Speaker 2: also you and I were chatting a little bit before
- 31:14Speaker 2: the interview. The Vedic texts also talk about these periods
- 31:19Speaker 2: of time as a collective. So the dark ages, which
- 31:23Speaker 2: we could argue we are in now, a lot of
- 31:26Speaker 2: dark heart energy, separation, war, There's lots of things are
- 31:31Speaker 2: going on. But what the texts saying is that the
- 31:34Speaker 2: more of us that it wakens into this heart and power,
- 31:38Speaker 2: each of us contributes to the greater field. So it's
- 31:42Speaker 2: like more lights going on. So that's how we're going
- 31:44Speaker 2: to change society. It's not going to be from the ego.
- 31:48Speaker 2: It's not going to be from the mind. It's not
- 31:49Speaker 2: going to be the way we're doing it now. It's
- 31:51Speaker 2: going to be more of us waking up into our hearts.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I agree with you. It's a critical time, it's a
- 32:00Speaker 2: powerful time, and it's a time of choice.
- 32:05Speaker 1: You talk about how hard intelligence reveals your true self.
- 32:09Speaker 1: This is a loaded question, but how do you define
- 32:12Speaker 1: true self?
- 32:13Speaker 2: So when we're really in our hearts. What I call
- 32:17Speaker 2: heart based living means we're speaking, moving, acting from this place,
- 32:27Speaker 2: this deeper place of gui gets not thinking, not thinking
- 32:31Speaker 2: how we look, not thinking the gain we might get
- 32:35Speaker 2: from something. It's just really pure place of authenticity, I think,
- 32:40Speaker 2: who we really are. And then we start to when
- 32:42Speaker 2: we drop all the layers and all the stories and
- 32:44Speaker 2: all the narratives, we start to be this energy of
- 32:49Speaker 2: first of all wholeness, or we don't feel lack, we're
- 32:52Speaker 2: not comparing ourselves all the time, and then we're naturally
- 32:55Speaker 2: these heart based qualities. The heart and brain are talking.
- 32:58Speaker 2: So there's more kindness, softness, more compassion, a way to
- 33:02Speaker 2: find unity, a way to see someone instead of take
- 33:06Speaker 2: issue with the many things that we could with pretty
- 33:09Speaker 2: much everyone. Right, So more of who we are is
- 33:12Speaker 2: not living from this ego place, but from this really
- 33:16Speaker 2: deep connected place. And again, what it looks like scientifically
- 33:20Speaker 2: is that coherent field.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You write seeking is restless energy, and it's what makes
- 33:26Speaker 1: feeling peaceful impossible. Yes, I think we live in a
- 33:31Speaker 1: society of seeking so much so and not so much
- 33:35Speaker 1: in the way that I think maybe people will take
- 33:38Speaker 1: that like buy me, bring me, fly me, it's.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Not that seeking. It's more like, what is my purpose?
- 33:45Speaker 2: Who am I?
- 33:46Speaker 1: We're in and I'm a person who loves questions, So
- 33:49Speaker 1: I'm so curious what the balance is between asking ourselves
- 33:53Speaker 1: those questions to find answers and not be seeking to
- 34:01Speaker 1: a place that we're out of our hearts.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so the restless energy is the characteristic of the
- 34:07Speaker 2: propelled heart. So this is where never nothing is ever enough.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You could get to this place in your career, but
- 34:16Speaker 2: what about this promotion. You could get those one hundred
- 34:20Speaker 2: thousand followers you want, Oh, but maybe I should have
- 34:22Speaker 2: two hundred thousand. You could have a really fit body
- 34:26Speaker 2: and say, but maybe I should try this other workout
- 34:28Speaker 2: that I saw on TikTok. It's never enough. So it's
- 34:33Speaker 2: up to us to be honest. And this awareness grows
- 34:36Speaker 2: through these practices of am what's the motivation? What's the
- 34:41Speaker 2: root of this? And only our hearts can tell us.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I naturally feel drawn to pursuing this opportunity. It's called
- 34:48Speaker 2: inspired action versus the ego. We're coming from this place.
- 34:52Speaker 2: It's like I describe in the book the wild Horse
- 34:54Speaker 2: running around in circles. We wear ourselves out. This is
- 34:58Speaker 2: the burnout. See across society. This is the massive anxiety, right,
- 35:03Speaker 2: this is the never enough. The other side is being
- 35:08Speaker 2: content doesn't mean that we don't want to continue to
- 35:10Speaker 2: grow and build our businesses and create those beautiful families
- 35:15Speaker 2: and the things that you know we may want, but
- 35:17Speaker 2: we're doing it from a coherent place, which means calm
- 35:22Speaker 2: and not desperate and not needy and this frenetic energy.
- 35:27Speaker 2: So we as we start to create awareness with the
- 35:31Speaker 2: clarity of herd coherence, slowing down, going into your heart journaling.
- 35:35Speaker 2: There's different practices in the book, we start to know
- 35:38Speaker 2: the difference. Yeah, I think you can feel the difference.
- 35:42Speaker 2: You can feel when you're energy. I agree.
- 35:46Speaker 1: The herderline practice is what you emphasize as the how.
- 35:51Speaker 2: How is that different from meditation? Meditation is like a
- 35:55Speaker 2: very broad term, and a lot of meditations I'll tell
- 36:00Speaker 2: I've been meditating out for over fifteen years are disassociative.
- 36:05Speaker 2: What I mean by that, let me imagine I'm at
- 36:08Speaker 2: a happy waterfall, not where I am. I'm not saying
- 36:14Speaker 2: that can't relax you or make you kind of calm down,
- 36:18Speaker 2: but the heart aligne system is different. This is about
- 36:21Speaker 2: putting you in your place of power, the hidden power
- 36:25Speaker 2: to awaken into your fullest potential in your place of power,
- 36:29Speaker 2: in the present moment, right here in your body, right
- 36:32Speaker 2: here in your heart. So these tools are bringing this
- 36:36Speaker 2: physiological psychological change, changing your perceptions, which then empowers your thoughts,
- 36:42Speaker 2: right bounces your emotions, It changes outcomes.
- 36:47Speaker 1: So as you're saying this, I'm thinking about this colloquialism
- 36:50Speaker 1: in our culture, which is we tell women step into
- 36:53Speaker 1: your power, but you keep using the word awaken. When
- 36:57Speaker 1: did your power awaken? Personally amazing, So there's.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Layers and layers and layers of that, right, I would say,
- 37:06Speaker 2: really in the last dramatically the last two years, two years, Yeah,
- 37:13Speaker 2: since I've been starting to get, you know, into the
- 37:15Speaker 2: writing of this book. I mean, on this.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Level, that's so interesting to me because you found so
- 37:20Speaker 1: much success in years past, and so it's not success
- 37:25Speaker 1: based las Onion.
- 37:27Speaker 2: I'm not saying, I'm not discrediting all those books and
- 37:29Speaker 2: all those things that I've done, and it's all amazing,
- 37:32Speaker 2: But the five stages, again, Danielle, these are different realities.
- 37:37Speaker 2: But when did you wake up? So but it's not
- 37:40Speaker 2: like oh I woke up today, it's like this. It's
- 37:42Speaker 2: like this process of you get a glimpse, right, I say,
- 37:46Speaker 2: whoa like I see this clear heart moment, okay, instead
- 37:49Speaker 2: of just random or you know I took something, I
- 37:53Speaker 2: did a device, or I took plant medicine or like
- 37:55Speaker 2: something you take. Yeah, it becomes something. And I'm not
- 37:58Speaker 2: discrediting any of those things. People may benefit from them, right,
- 38:01Speaker 2: Like no judgment on anything. But you start to the
- 38:05Speaker 2: field becomes nonspecific. This is how I explain it. Right,
- 38:08Speaker 2: So instead of like oh I love my four people
- 38:12Speaker 2: in my family so much, or I love this thing
- 38:14Speaker 2: so much, or you know, I feel really happy when
- 38:17Speaker 2: I go to this bar or this restaurant or eat
- 38:19Speaker 2: my favorite meal, what happens your energy is it becomes
- 38:23Speaker 2: And this is to me power is like it's nonspecific.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I love my kids so much. I'm not so tied
- 38:28Speaker 2: to them like when they were born. Because as you've
- 38:31Speaker 2: become self reliant, connection grows instead of attachment. So there's
- 38:35Speaker 2: less of that neediness, so closer than ever, so connected
- 38:39Speaker 2: to self, so connected to the bliss inside. So it's
- 38:43Speaker 2: not specific to being at that concert or doing this
- 38:46Speaker 2: one thing. So that's real power to me is you're
- 38:49Speaker 2: not you don't need anything outside. Can I read you
- 38:51Speaker 2: a quote? Please? So this is this is going to
- 38:54Speaker 2: sum up what you're saying, okay, okay, or what we're
- 38:57Speaker 2: talking about here. This is stage three, steady Heart. This
- 39:01Speaker 2: is where I said, we make a big shift here,
- 39:03Speaker 2: Compelled outward to inward, page ninety five. Shri Yu Teshwar
- 39:09Speaker 2: teaches that the core essentials of life from the Vedas
- 39:12Speaker 2: are sut, existence, cheat, consciousness, and nanda bliss. These three
- 39:20Speaker 2: are the real necessities of the human heart and have
- 39:24Speaker 2: nothing to do with anything outside of himself. Yeah, to
- 39:32Speaker 2: take that in for a moment, just very different than
- 39:35Speaker 2: the delusion that we're taught in society, which mirrors the
- 39:38Speaker 2: dark and the propelled heart. We need nothing outside of ourselves.
- 39:43Speaker 2: So this, to me is true power. So along the way,
- 39:46Speaker 2: I was expressing power in a different way. I was
- 39:49Speaker 2: creating my own business, my own podcast, writing books, and
- 39:52Speaker 2: there was amazingness. But there is a different level where
- 39:56Speaker 2: you know, I would define power more as this self fulfilling.
- 39:59Speaker 2: You don't really need anything. You're not giving your power.
- 40:02Speaker 2: I need you to like me. I feel love when
- 40:04Speaker 2: you love me. Now the power is inside of you.
- 40:07Speaker 2: It's I am love, I am I am and then yes,
- 40:12Speaker 2: I am love, I am these things that I'm seeking,
- 40:15Speaker 2: and it's experiential and it's not like, oh gosh, she
- 40:18Speaker 2: you know it so hard to attain all these things.
- 40:21Speaker 2: This is accessible. Yeah, I've gone through all the you
- 40:24Speaker 2: know we st I talked about the eating disorders, the anxiety,
- 40:27Speaker 2: the bloatedness like insomnia, all these things. And that's why
- 40:31Speaker 2: I love to tell the story because I've experienced all this.
- 40:35Speaker 2: But this power and the heart is given to each
- 40:38Speaker 2: of us. So even if you feel really confused, or
- 40:41Speaker 2: my life isn't working, or you haven't been able to
- 40:43Speaker 2: meet someone I really want to be married, or whatever
- 40:46Speaker 2: it is, you go in and you start to build
- 40:50Speaker 2: this coherence with these practices and you still take inspired action.
- 40:55Speaker 2: You may feel called to put yourself out on that
- 40:58Speaker 2: dating app or to put your resume here there, whatever
- 41:01Speaker 2: it is, but you're doing it from a different energetic place,
- 41:04Speaker 2: so you will get different results. I like that. Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 2: this isn't a like, oh let me lock myself up
- 41:10Speaker 2: and you know things are going to fall out of
- 41:12Speaker 2: the sky. We're still in life, but we're in life
- 41:15Speaker 2: like that Taurus field, projecting and perceiving in a different energy,
- 41:21Speaker 2: different heart stage.
- 41:22Speaker 1: So I want to stay on the idea of power
- 41:24Speaker 1: for a second. You write personal power grows when you
- 41:27Speaker 1: don't give your power away. How do we give our
- 41:30Speaker 1: power away unconsciously?
- 41:32Speaker 2: Okay? So in the Steady Heart, a big topic is attachment.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Attachment is an ancient concept talked about in the Yoga
- 41:39Speaker 2: and the Bagavagita and these ancient texts. Attachment means just
- 41:43Speaker 2: what it sounds like. I need I need you to
- 41:49Speaker 2: like me. I need you to understand me. I need
- 41:53Speaker 2: you to like my post. I need you to want
- 41:55Speaker 2: to favor me or spend time with me. This needing
- 41:59Speaker 2: and I'm talking about people. I'm talking about I need
- 42:01Speaker 2: this job. I need to be you know, I've bought
- 42:06Speaker 2: a house by a certain point to feel successful, I
- 42:08Speaker 2: need to be married with three kids by the time
- 42:11Speaker 2: I'm thirty five. Right. This needing outside outside, so there's
- 42:14Speaker 2: means that we're displacing our peace and our love and
- 42:20Speaker 2: this self worth into something as Strawmy Shrieker's words says,
- 42:24Speaker 2: outside of the heart, outside of self. So we start
- 42:27Speaker 2: to call it back in. Okay, I have a question
- 42:29Speaker 2: for you.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and you have to excuse me because I'm I
- 42:33Speaker 1: think I'm a layman.
- 42:35Speaker 2: So this is important because this is new. This was
- 42:38Speaker 2: new for me, So we want to understay that. Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 1: So I have been in a place in my life
- 42:45Speaker 1: where I did feel in need and like, quite literally
- 42:49Speaker 1: I needed money, right remember interviewing Gabby Bernstein about manifestation,
- 42:55Speaker 1: And secretly in my mind, I was like, how do.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I manifest money? Like I need money so badly right
- 43:00Speaker 2: now to live?
- 43:01Speaker 1: And I felt like I was walking in my path,
- 43:03Speaker 1: but I clearly wasn't walking in my power. So when
- 43:06Speaker 1: you were, and I don't know how I got out
- 43:08Speaker 1: of it, to be honest, but things just started happening.
- 43:12Speaker 2: So when when you're in that place of need, how
- 43:16Speaker 2: do you get out of it? So there's the realities
- 43:18Speaker 2: of life, right. We need to pay rent by food,
- 43:21Speaker 2: We need to take care of ourselves. So when I
- 43:24Speaker 2: got back from backpacking, I went traveling for three years.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I came back and I was broke and hustling. And
- 43:32Speaker 2: so what I was doing was taking these little steps.
- 43:35Speaker 2: I was going back to nutrition school, I was teaching yoga.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I got really good at teaching yoga. So then I
- 43:40Speaker 2: could charge more for privates. I was putting my heart
- 43:43Speaker 2: into every moment right right, So as I look back
- 43:46Speaker 2: and I didn't have this language, but I was taking
- 43:48Speaker 2: that inspired action. So it's not that we don't take action,
- 43:52Speaker 2: but it's not from this fear based place where our
- 43:54Speaker 2: thoughts are consumed with lack and fear. Oh, then we're
- 43:58Speaker 2: still doing the same action. We're still teaching those classes
- 44:02Speaker 2: or doing showing up at or cubicle for work or whatever.
- 44:04Speaker 2: But things aren't working out so well. We're repelling. So
- 44:08Speaker 2: somehow in the dark and I talk about the dark heart,
- 44:10Speaker 2: Let's say you're really struggling right now. When you start
- 44:13Speaker 2: to weave this heart coherence in, you still have to
- 44:17Speaker 2: take action, you still have to show up, but you
- 44:19Speaker 2: start to have different ideas, you start to project a
- 44:23Speaker 2: different energy. So what happened for me was I was
- 44:26Speaker 2: hustling walking around the city. I didn't even have the
- 44:28Speaker 2: money to buy an unlimited subway ticket. So I remember
- 44:31Speaker 2: putting on my boots, walking sometimes in the snow, hustling.
- 44:35Speaker 2: But you know what I did at night, I would
- 44:38Speaker 2: figure out how to write a book proposal I was
- 44:40Speaker 2: obsessed with, Like I had this fund that this inspiration
- 44:43Speaker 2: to write a book. Yeah, I started a free blog.
- 44:46Speaker 2: You know, no one's paying me. I know nothing about marketing.
- 44:48Speaker 2: But guess what, Danielle, I put my heart into it.
- 44:51Speaker 2: These are things that felt really natural, things I wanted
- 44:53Speaker 2: to share. My mantras always like what do I share?
- 44:55Speaker 2: And that's what I would encourage everyone to do, is
- 44:57Speaker 2: feel that energy from inside of you. Where can I serve?
- 45:01Speaker 2: Not just me, may me, but where can my energy
- 45:04Speaker 2: help support others or uplift? So this free blog, get this,
- 45:07Speaker 2: no marketing, no knowledge. It's all I did was tell
- 45:11Speaker 2: my yoga students. And then it started to spread through
- 45:14Speaker 2: New York City. And then my first celebrity found me,
- 45:17Speaker 2: Oma Thurman, and then I started getting on film sets.
- 45:20Speaker 2: And this is the person to this day who doesn't
- 45:22Speaker 2: watch movies. I don't have TV. So I started working
- 45:25Speaker 2: with all these celebrities somehow, no plans, It was from
- 45:28Speaker 2: my heart. And then I moved out here because all
- 45:31Speaker 2: my client you know a lot of clients were here.
- 45:33Speaker 2: And then the book deal started coming in and then
- 45:35Speaker 2: the national TV shows this is from deep struggle. I'm
- 45:40Speaker 2: not paying my rent. So it's like, you look at
- 45:44Speaker 2: what happened I was working, I was taking the steps,
- 45:48Speaker 2: but I was also in this in your world a
- 45:51Speaker 2: lot of the time where creativity lives where we can
- 45:55Speaker 2: again this coherence will bring you back in, so you're
- 45:58Speaker 2: creating with a different vibe. When you interact with someone
- 46:02Speaker 2: from a more coherent place, they may want to help you.
- 46:04Speaker 2: They're like, hey, you know, what is it that you
- 46:06Speaker 2: want to do again? Oh? I know this person. Yeah,
- 46:09Speaker 2: let me hook you up with this person, right, instead
- 46:11Speaker 2: of this like black repellent incoherent state, wherever you are
- 46:15Speaker 2: in your life, you're struggling to pay the rent, you
- 46:18Speaker 2: have to move back in with your parents, if you
- 46:20Speaker 2: can't find any work, start to get coherent and again
- 46:24Speaker 2: to keep doing those action steps. But the results do change.
- 46:29Speaker 1: So as long as you feel like you're walking in
- 46:31Speaker 1: your soul path. What's your definition of a miracle?
- 46:38Speaker 2: Oh? So miracle is everything? Yeah, so it's like we
- 46:44Speaker 2: see miracles is kind of everything, right, just the fact
- 46:46Speaker 2: that you and I are here, the fact that the
- 46:49Speaker 2: world is held together and things are functioning, it's a
- 46:52Speaker 2: miracle another way to define it. So that's true, And
- 46:56Speaker 2: another way to define it is something as we're describing
- 46:59Speaker 2: Quanti and leap out of the realm of the rational
- 47:04Speaker 2: linear egoic mind sees like I can't even imagine this
- 47:08Speaker 2: could happen. I can't even imagine that I was a
- 47:12Speaker 2: broke backpacker walking around New York City and my flip
- 47:15Speaker 2: flops to kind of a short time later, I'm working
- 47:19Speaker 2: with mis Witherspoon and Channing Tatum and living this altered existence.
- 47:25Speaker 2: This is kind of a miracle. It's a miracle when
- 47:28Speaker 2: we find the love of our life, and my relationship
- 47:31Speaker 2: with my husband is a miracle. Yeah. So it's like
- 47:34Speaker 2: out of the way in which we get out of
- 47:38Speaker 2: this prison, the smallness of the mind. When we harness
- 47:43Speaker 2: the heart to the brain. Now this is real powers.
- 47:46Speaker 2: So I'd say the brain isn't important, But again, perceptions change.
- 47:50Speaker 2: So then our thoughts change, our feelings, our energies, what
- 47:54Speaker 2: we're meeting, what people come, what we bring in. How
- 47:57Speaker 2: do you keep a warm heart? So this is where
- 48:00Speaker 2: we shift. We continue to shift from our old way
- 48:03Speaker 2: of being, like we were saying, the dark heart didn't
- 48:05Speaker 2: work so well, we start to shift from the ego
- 48:08Speaker 2: mind on its own, the overthinking, into what I call
- 48:11Speaker 2: heart based living. And so what this means is that
- 48:14Speaker 2: when you keep a warm heart is you keep it activated.
- 48:17Speaker 2: So the tools are like three seconds, five seconds, even
- 48:20Speaker 2: just placing your hand on your heart, like you come back,
- 48:23Speaker 2: you come back, because this world is always pulling us out,
- 48:26Speaker 2: come back to the heart intelligence, we come back, and
- 48:30Speaker 2: we can even ask ourselves what's the most loving kind
- 48:32Speaker 2: thing to say, what's the way to peace in the situation,
- 48:35Speaker 2: what's the best way to communicate and create the best outcome?
- 48:38Speaker 2: And the zoom or in this work project. So keeping
- 48:42Speaker 2: it activated means it's not just oh, I do my
- 48:44Speaker 2: meditation in the morning and I don't touch it, or
- 48:46Speaker 2: I love this book The Hidden Power in the Five
- 48:49Speaker 2: Hearts and now it's stuck on my shelf and I
- 48:51Speaker 2: don't use it. This is a way of living and
- 48:54Speaker 2: it's worth every moment. And it's also like I said,
- 48:58Speaker 2: not separate from your life. You start to weave it
- 48:59Speaker 2: in moment to moment. And there's another part of the book, Danielle,
- 49:03Speaker 2: where I say, never miss an opportunity to serve. And
- 49:07Speaker 2: what this means is, like I said, when we're manifesting
- 49:10Speaker 2: through the lens of an awakened heart, it's not just oh,
- 49:15Speaker 2: you know I'm going to create a foundation one day,
- 49:18Speaker 2: or I'm going to spend my weekend at the soup kitchen.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Those are great things, but again they're kind of here
- 49:23Speaker 2: versus in this moment. How could I be really present
- 49:28Speaker 2: with this person and this moment? How can I be
- 49:31Speaker 2: really kind to that person I interact with in line
- 49:34Speaker 2: the coffee shop. Maybe I see this person's in a rush,
- 49:37Speaker 2: let them go, or smile at someone I'm really nice
- 49:40Speaker 2: to the FedEx guy. Never miss an opportunity to serve
- 49:44Speaker 2: is moment to moment. I really like that from our heart.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Never miss an opportunity to serve. Yeah, I get goosebumps
- 49:52Speaker 2: because this will change our day to day existence, moment
- 49:55Speaker 2: to moment. This is our power, This is life, this
- 49:58Speaker 2: is connection. That's the collective change that you're talking about,
- 50:02Speaker 2: moment to moment.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Yeah. When we go back to the ancient text and
- 50:06Speaker 2: even in the Bible, all these things we hear about
- 50:08Speaker 2: maybe at certain times, and you know all the texts
- 50:11Speaker 2: the Koran and the Heart Suiture and Buddhism. You know,
- 50:15Speaker 2: treat your neighbor as you know, do unto others as
- 50:18Speaker 2: you would do onto yourself. Peace that passeth all understanding
- 50:23Speaker 2: when we see people, when we forgive these grievances, when
- 50:27Speaker 2: we're kind the way we would want to be kind,
- 50:29Speaker 2: think about these truths, but then we don't live them
- 50:32Speaker 2: because we're rushing to get through or we're just so
- 50:35Speaker 2: focused on getting a meeting we cut people off. It
- 50:39Speaker 2: just becomes like whoa slow down? This is this is life?
- 50:45Speaker 2: How do I want to live moment to moment?
- 50:47Speaker 1: Well, I particularly like this book for women, and I
- 50:51Speaker 1: don't want to have a blanket statement, but I know
- 50:55Speaker 1: within my own friend group and my mom, we all
- 50:58Speaker 1: talk about how we're kind kind of like in work
- 51:00Speaker 1: mode and then we come home and it's sometimes hard
- 51:04Speaker 1: to turn that off. And I want to be soft
- 51:08Speaker 1: everywhere I am, even at work, I try and be soft.
- 51:11Speaker 1: And so when you because we all have moments, So
- 51:14Speaker 1: when you feel that's coming up, to think about going
- 51:17Speaker 1: back into your heart really helped sort of sedate whatever
- 51:22Speaker 1: else you're feeling.
- 51:23Speaker 2: So in the Propelled Heart chapter there's the Heart aligne
- 51:26Speaker 2: harmonized tool, and you want to do that through the day.
- 51:30Speaker 2: So you don't want to go from like hardened too soft,
- 51:32Speaker 2: like less and less. It just becomes what you embody
- 51:34Speaker 2: all the time journey, but there are certain junctures of
- 51:38Speaker 2: time where you do want to definitely do the practice,
- 51:40Speaker 2: and one of them is transitioning from the workday to
- 51:43Speaker 2: your personal life. Before you open the door, you come
- 51:45Speaker 2: home to your roommates or your kids or your family.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Come back in shift. Come back to your heart. If
- 51:54Speaker 2: you left for a little bit, it's okay, come back.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Come back before. Come into your heart, before you go
- 52:00Speaker 2: on social media in the morning. Yeah, come into your heart,
- 52:03Speaker 2: before you go on that interview, before you go on
- 52:05Speaker 2: that date. Come back, recenter into your power.
- 52:11Speaker 1: I think about light coming out of my heart, like
- 52:13Speaker 1: that's the imagery that I need for some reason.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Beautiful. Yeah, go with that intuition. Have some rapid fire questions.
- 52:21Speaker 2: The best compliment you've ever received back to the I
- 52:24Speaker 2: would say now at this point, is that you know,
- 52:28Speaker 2: just you know, you feel really peaceful, and it could
- 52:33Speaker 2: tell that you genuinely want to spread peace and help
- 52:35Speaker 2: people feel better. The biggest misconception people have about you
- 52:40Speaker 2: that I'm perfect. I get that one a lot. Do
- 52:43Speaker 2: you just with like, oh, you need a perfect diet,
- 52:46Speaker 2: you live this perfect lifestyle. I think a lot of
- 52:48Speaker 2: people think people are perfect on social media. We're all
- 52:50Speaker 2: in journey. You're all very layered.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah, a lesson you've learned from yoga that you use
- 52:57Speaker 1: in life.
- 52:59Speaker 2: So it goes layers and layers deep. With this hard work,
- 53:03Speaker 2: there's so many levels of attachment and so this big
- 53:07Speaker 2: lesson of coming back into self reliance over and over
- 53:10Speaker 2: again is a really big one for me.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, a mantra you tell yourself when you need to
- 53:15Speaker 1: vibrate higher.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I am the Heart. I like that. A book that
- 53:22Speaker 2: changed your life, something you think everybody should read. Oof
- 53:25Speaker 2: Autobiography with Yogi by Paramahansa Yoganda. I just bought it. Amazing.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I'm going to give you these if you can pick
- 53:35Speaker 1: a card. Oh wow, whichever one you're called to out
- 53:38Speaker 1: of all.
- 53:38Speaker 2: The extraordinary people you've encountered, who made the largest impact
- 53:42Speaker 2: or left a lingering memory? Am I asking myself? I
- 53:48Speaker 2: was like waiting for you. It's funny we just talked
- 53:51Speaker 2: about Yoganda. Yeah, I stick with that. Okay. My last question,
- 53:57Speaker 2: what is the smartest decision you've ever made? Ooh, following
- 54:01Speaker 2: the heart a different type of intelligence, not smart in
- 54:05Speaker 2: the egoay, but going the way of the heart. It's
- 54:10Speaker 2: also the most courageous thing I've ever done.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Following my heart has been the most courageous thing and
- 54:16Speaker 1: it was the scariest for me.
- 54:18Speaker 2: And it will just keep unfolding as you progress, as
- 54:21Speaker 2: you make life decisions, as you know, choose your partner,
- 54:25Speaker 2: it's going to change everything.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I am Jewish, and really I'm curious to see if
- 54:32Speaker 1: you experience it with your husband. But in Jewish culture,
- 54:35Speaker 1: I find that there's a reliance on the brain.
- 54:38Speaker 2: It's very intellectual.
- 54:40Speaker 1: We value intellect and I had to do a lot
- 54:43Speaker 1: of unlearning almost it.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Was cultural right, there's a lot of emphasis on education.
- 54:49Speaker 2: But again, when you look back at how much that
- 54:52Speaker 2: word love is mentioned in the Torah and the handling
- 54:56Speaker 2: of the Torah and the tabernacle, yeah, there's a lot
- 55:00Speaker 2: around the heart. Yeah cool.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Thank you for your time today. Okay, you know what
- 55:12Speaker 1: time it is. Today's a good day. To have a
- 55:15Speaker 1: good day.
- 55:16Speaker 2: I'll see you next week.
